Abstract:

We solve fundamental problems in Oka theory by establishing an implicit function theorem for sprays. As the first application of our implicit function theorem, we obtain an elementary proof of the fact that approximation yields interpolation. This proof and Lárusson’s elementary proof of the converse give an elementary proof of the equivalence between approximation and interpolation. The second application concerns the Oka property of a blowup. We prove that the blowup of an algebraically Oka manifold along a smooth algebraic center is Oka. In the appendix, equivariantly Oka manifolds are characterized by the equivariant version of Gromov’s condition [Formula: see text], and the equivariant localization principle is also given.

Abstract:

We consider the analogue for regular maps from affine varieties to suitable algebraic manifolds of Oka theory for holomorphic maps from Stein spaces to suitable complex manifolds. The goal is to understand when the obstructions to approximation or interpolation are purely topological. We propose a definition of an algebraic Oka property, which is stronger than the analytic Oka property. We review the known examples of algebraic manifolds satisfying the algebraic Oka property and add a new class of examples: smooth nondegenerate toric varieties. On the other hand, we show that the algebraic analogues of three of the central properties of analytic Oka theory fail for all compact manifolds and manifolds with a rational curve; in particular, for projective manifolds.

Abstract:

Purpose: Green (fresh) maize (Zea mays L.) provides food security and income to farmers especially when other crops are still in the field. However, research on green maize variety is scarcely reported in literature or information on the consumption or acceptability pattern of the developed maize hybrids. Unattractive colour, bad taste, kernel size and hard kernels are among factors that affect the level of fresh maize acceptability and subsequent consumption of genotypes in the South eastern part of Nigeria, therefore, the purpose of this work is to study the variation in sensory characteristics of hybrids generated from crosses between seven maize genotypes of two local varieties (Oka Mbaise and Oka Bende-white) and five improved varieties (DTMA-4, DMR-ESRY (POOL 18-SR), PVA SYM 8 F2 (PRO VIT A), POOL 66/ACR-91 SUWAN – 1- SR (QPM), DTMA – W, from IITA) was evaluated at the Centre for Agricultural Research, Federal University of technology Owerri and the sensory evaluation was done at different hostels in Umuchima, Ihiagwa and Centre for Agricultural Research, FUTO.Methodology: The methodology used in the field to develop these hybrids was the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). Questionnaires were used to achieve the following palatability qualities measured; colour, kernel hardness, appeal, size and taste. The numerical scoring from the questionnaires was analysed using Genstat discovery 10th Edition.Results: The result of this work revealed that there were significant differences among the hybrids for kernel size and appeal. The cross between DTMA-4 and all other genotypes had the highest grain size (2.17) and was the most preferred by the respondents. The crosses between POOL 66/ACR-91 SUWAN – 1- SR (QPM) and Oka Mbaise; POOL 66/ACR-91 SUWAN – 1- SR (QPM) and Oka Bende-white; DTMA – W and Oka Mbaise; DTMA – W and Oka Bende-white; Oka Mbaise and Oka Bende-white had the hardest grain (3.00) and were least preferred by the respondents. Correlation matrix of the sensory evaluation revealed that grain size, colour and appeal were positively correlated while hardness was negatively correlated with appeal.Unique contribution to theory, policy and practice: In contribution to practice, the study recommends the cross OKA MBAISE X OKA BENDE-WHITE as it was highly preferred by the respondents.

Abstract:

Bahan ajar sastra yang dipilih oleh guru harus menyajikan berbagai nilai yang bisa diaplikasikan siswa dalam kehidupan nyata. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan wujud konflik batin yang mengandung nilai-nilai kehidupan novel Ada Surga di Rumahmu karya Oka Aurora. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel berjudul “Ada Surga di Rumahmu” karya Oka Aurora. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis isi. Data dianalisis menggunakan teori psikopragmatik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dan pembahasan disimpulkan bahwa wujud konflik batin dalam novel Ada Surga di Rumahmu karya Oka Aurora antara lain pertentangan antara pilihan yang tidak sesuai dengan keinginan, kebimbangan dalam menghadapi permasalahan, serta harapan tidak sesuai dengan kenyataan. Kesesuaian konflik batin yang mengandung nilai-nilai kehidupan dalam novel Ada Surga di Rumahmu karya Oka Aurora dapat dilihat dari aspek psikologi. Rekomendasi dari hasil penelitian diharapkan penyajian bahan ajar pembelajaran sastra di SMA senantiasa diperbaiki, diperbarui dan dimutakhirkan sesuai kebutuhan dan standar yang telah ditentukan. Literary teaching materials chosen by the teacher must present various values that can be applied by students in real life. The purpose of this research is to describe the form of inner conflict that contains the values of life in the novel Ada Surga di Rumahmu by Oka Aurora. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative. The data source in this researchis a novel titledAda Surga di Rumahmu by Oka Aurora. The method used in this researchis content analysis. Data was analyzed using psychopragmatic theory. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it was concluded that the form of inner conflict in the novel titledAda Surga di Rumahmuby Oka Aurora includes contradictions between choices that are not in accordance with desires, doubts in facing problems, and expectations not inaccordance with reality. The values of life contained in the novel titled Ada Surga di Rumahmu by Oka Aurora include moral values, religious values, social values, cultural values and educational values. Compatibility of inner conflict that contain the values of life in the novel Ada Surga di Rumahmu by Oka Aurora can be seen from the aspect of psychology. Recommendations from the results of the study are expected to present literature learning materials in high school always improved, updated and updated.according to the needs and standards that have been determined.

ArgumentContrary to common portrayals of social Darwinism as a transference of laissez-faire values, the widely read evolutionism of Japan's foremost Darwinist of the early twentieth-century, Oka Asajirō (1868–1944), reflects a statist outlook that regards capitalism as the beginning of the nation's degeneration. The evolutionary theory of orthogenesis that Oka employed in his 1910 essay, “The Future of Humankind,” links him to a pre-Darwinian idealist tradition that depicted the state as an organism that develops through life-cycle stages. For Oka, laissez-faire capitalism marked the moment when the state began to decline toward extinction due to the orthogenetic overdevelopment of hitherto subordinate individual egos. Because conservative bureaucrat-intellectuals had been drawing upon this same organicist-developmental tradition since the 1880s in an attempt to forestall the social ills of industrialism, Oka's call for statist measures, including eugenics, to lessen and delay the atomizing, enervating, and corrupting influence of capitalism articulated the political vision of officialdom. Statist evolutionism, not social Darwinism, might be the term that best describes Oka's approach.

Abstract:

AbstractThis study aimed to describe the transformation of Dewi Kekayi story in the Ramayana epic into Kekayi (2017) by Oka Rusmini. This research used intertextual theory. Applying structural approach, this qualitative study described the transformation of each part of the story. Content analysis was employed to analyze the data. The results showed that the story of Dewi Kekayi in the Ramayana epic was made into a short story hypogram entitled Kekayi by Oka Rusmini through story transformation. In the transformation process, the author developed the original story (hypogram) into a new story by deconstructing the personality of Dewi Kekayi to Kekayi character in Kekayi short story. Deconstruction carried out by the author caused a contradiction between the character of Kekayi in the story of Dewi Kekayi and Kekayi short story.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan transformasi cerita Dewi Kekayi dalam epos Ramayana menjadi cerpen Kekayi (2017) karya Oka Rusmini. Teori intertekstual digunakan sebagai dasar dalam analisis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan struktural, mengingat fokus penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan transformasi bagian-bagian cerita. Analisis data menggunakan analisis konten. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cerita Dewi Kekayi dalam epos Ramayana dijadikan hiprogram cerpen Kekayi oleh Oka Rusmini melalui transformasi cerita. Dalam proses transformasi, pengarang mengembangkan cerita asal (sebagai hipogram) di dalam cerita baru, yaitu dengan mendekonstruksikan kepribadian Dewi Kekayi menjadi tokoh Kekayi dalam cerpen Kekayi. Dekonstruksi yang dilakukan pengarang menyebabkan adanya kontradiksi sifat tokoh Kekayi dalam cerita Dewi Kekayi dan cerpen Kekayi.

Abstract:

The aim of this research is to explain the intrinsic elements and the moral form of the story contained in Tarian Bumi novel by Oka Rusmini (2007). The data of this research were obtained from a novel entitled “Tarian Bumi” by Oka Rusmini (2007). Data were collected by observation method and note-taking technique. The collected data were analyzed using the theory of the Intrinsic Fiction Element (Nurgiyantoro, 2015) and the Moral Value theory in Fiction (Nurgiyantoro, 2009). The results of the analysis are presented using informal methods. Based on the analysis that were conducted the intrinsic elements contained in the novel Tarian Bumi are divided into themes, plots, characters, background, point of view, and language. The form of moral values contained in the novel Tarian Bumi is distinguished into a human relationship with itself, human relationship with God, human relationships with other human beings, and human relations with the environment is manifested with social life. The moral value contained in the novel is a reflection of Balinese people’s life that clings to the concept of Tri Hita Karana.

Abstract:

We study when there exists a dense holomorphic curve in a space of holomorphic maps from a Stein space. We first show that for any bounded convex domain [Formula: see text] and any connected complex manifold [Formula: see text], the space [Formula: see text] contains a dense holomorphic disc. Our second result states that [Formula: see text] is an Oka manifold if and only if for any Stein space [Formula: see text] there exists a dense entire curve in every path component of [Formula: see text]. In the second half of this paper, we apply the above results to the theory of universal functions. It is proved that for any bounded convex domain [Formula: see text], any fixed-point-free automorphism of [Formula: see text] and any connected complex manifold [Formula: see text], there exists a universal map [Formula: see text]. We also characterize Oka manifolds by the existence of universal maps.

Abstract:

In this paper we survey recent developments in the classical theory of minimal surfaces in Euclidean spaces which have been obtained as applications of both classical and modern complex analytic methods; in particular, Oka theory, period dominating holomorphic sprays, gluing methods for holomorphic maps, and the Riemann–Hilbert boundary value problem. Emphasis is on results pertaining to the global theory of minimal surfaces, in particular, the Calabi–Yau problem, constructions of properly immersed and embedded minimal surfaces in $\mathbb{R}^{n}$ and in minimally convex domains of $\mathbb{R}^{n}$ , results on the complex Gauss map, isotopies of conformal minimal immersions, and the analysis of the homotopy type of the space of all conformal minimal immersions from a given open Riemann surface.

Abstract:

Balinese women and patriarchy are terms which closely related. They commonly appear at the same time. Can this stereotype be negotiated? In the work of Oka Rusmini’s Koplak, this phenomenon is tried to be negotiated. The appearance of women who are living freely from patriarchal culture is shown through the whole book. It makes a new perspective that patriarchy in Bali can be negotiated. The study aims to show that Balinese women are no longer related to the word patriarchy and they can live their life. Using Feminism theory, Koplak will be examined and seen from a feminist perspective. The analysis activity will use a descriptive-qualitative method. There are two results of the study, showing that nowadays Balinese women can live without a burden of patriarchal, even they have their culture. The culture can be negotiated and the appearance of the feminist father shows that the parent’s role in family can help Balinese women being free from patriarchal culture. It also shows that the word feminist is not always given to women.

Tulisan ini dibuat guna memahami tanda makna komunikasi visual yang terdapat pada ilustrasi kemasanberas dari Ecoko Green Project,serta pesan komunikasi visual yang terkandung pada ilustrasi pada kemasan beras tersebut.Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara observasi dengan datang ke studio Oka Astawa dan mendapatkan foto-foto mengenai kemasan beras yang berisi karya dari Oka Astawa. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis kualitatif dari teori semiotika Charles Sanders Pierce ikon, indeks, dan simbol. Hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa 1.) Ikon pada ilustrasi kemasan beras Ecoko Green Projectadalah penggambaran petani itu sendiri karena memiliki kemiripan dengan bentuk aslinya yaitu penggambaran seorang petani. 2.) Indeks pada ilustrasi kemasan beras tersebut adalah penggambaran gedung dan jalan pada tubuh petani pertama, serta dolar dan padi yang tidak seimbang pada ilustrasi kedua merupakan penggambaran sebab akibat. 3.) Simbol pada ilustrasi kemasan beras tersebut adalah caping(topi petani) serta padi pada ilustrasi kemasan beras yang pertama dan kedua merupakan simbol dari pertanian itu sendiri, dan pada ilustrasi kemasan kedua ada dua simbol tambahan yaitu dolar dan dasi berbentuk ular, dimana kedua simbol tersebut menggabarkan petani ditindas oleh uang dan penguasa.This paper is made to learn the meaning sign of the visual communication that contained in the illustration of rice packaging from the Ecoko Green Project, as well as the visual communication message in that illustration on the rice packaging. The collected data in this study was carried out with observation by coming to the Oka Astawa studio and getting photos of rice packaging containing the works of Oka Astawa. The collected data is then analyzed using qualitative analysis and Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic theory of icons, indexes, and symbols. The results of these studies indicate that 1.) The icon in the Ecoko Green Project rice packaging illustration is a description of the farmer itself because it has a similarity to the original form, which is the description of a farmer. 2.) The index in the illustration of rice packaging is the depiction of buildings and roads in the body of the first farmer, then the dollar and rice that is not balanced in the second illustration are depictions of cause and effect. 3.) The symbol in the illustration of the rice packaging is the caping (farmers' hat) and the rice in the first and second illustration of the rice packaging is a symbol of the agriculture itself, and in the second packaging illustration there are two additional symbols, the dollar and a snake-shaped tie, where both of the symbols described that the farmers being oppressed by money and the authority.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji perjuangan perempuan bangsawan Bali mempertahankan martabat dan harga dirinya dalam cerpen “Sagra” karya Oka Rusmini yang terbit tahun 2004. Dalam cerpen ini, perempuan berusaha menempatkan dirinya sesuai dengan status sosialnya masing-masing. Teori yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah teori psikoanalisis sosial. Dalam teori ini dijelaskan bahwa tingkah laku manusia sebagian besar digerakan oleh daya-daya psikodinamik seperti motif-motif, konflik-konflik, dan kecemasan-kecemasan. Dijelaskan pula bahwa dalam diri manusia terdapat kebutuhan-kebutuhan yang bersifat dualistik, yang dapat dipenuhi dengan mengembangkan kesadaran. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik kepustakaan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah deskriptif analisis. Pembahasan ini menghasilkan hal-hal berikut. Pertama, adanya kondisi eksistensi tokoh perempuan yang dilematis, menciptakan berbagai peristiwa yang mendorong munculnya konflik batin tokoh-tokoh perempuan lainnya. Kedua, tindakan‐tindakan melalui pendekatan humanistik yang dilakukan tokoh perempuan bangsawan mampu mengurangi konflik batinnya dan mempertahankan martabat dan harga dirinya. Abstract: The aim of this study is to analyze the Balinese noblewomen's struggle in maintaining their dignity and selfesteem in the short story "Sagra" by Oka Rusmini published in 2004. In this short story, the women tried to put themself according to their own social status. The theory used in this study is the social theory of psychoanalysis. This theory explains that human behavior is largely driven by forces such as psychodynamic motives, conflicts, and anxieties. It is also explained that human beings have dualistic needs which can be satisfied by developing awareness. The data were collected by using librarian technique. The method used in this study is descriptive analysis. This discussion results in the following points. First, there is a condition in which a dilemmatic female figure exists; it creates a variety of events that encourage inner conflict of other woman figures. Secondly, the actions undertaken through a humanistic approach by female noble characters are able to reduce their inner conflicts and maintain their dignity and pride. China is one of the places for the origin of the Asian cultivated rice (Oka 1988), but there are different theories for precise locations where ancient cultivated rice first originated, including those proposing South China and Yunnan (Li 1989) or the middle and lower Yangtze River Valley (Yan 1989), or the middle Yangtze and the upper Huai River Valley (Wang 1996) as the site of the oldest rice cultivation in China. The discovery (Zhang et al. 1994) of ancient rice at Jiahu in Henan province not only pushed the history of rice agriculture in the Huai River region back to 9000 BP, but also indicated the existence of an agricultural tradition of rice cultivation in the region from the beginning of the Holocene Anathermal until the end of the Holocene megathermal.

This study entitled " The Analysis of Code-mixing in Sagra Short Stories Compilation and Kenanga Novel by Oka Rusmini " aims to find out the types of code-mixing, the code-mixing in the grammatical and syntactic categories, and the factors that cause the code-mixing. Those aims were obtained by using the theory of sociolinguistics, and the method used was attention, supported by free listening proficiency techniques and note-taking techniques. The data analysis process was in a descriptive-qualitative and split methods, and presented in formal and informal methods. The findings of this study are (1) in the compilation of short stories Sagra, there are eighteen data of inner code-mixing consisting Balinese code-mixing in the Indonesian language, five data of outer code-mixing consisting English code-mixing and Japanese code-mixing in the Indonesian language and no mixed code-mixing was found. Moreover, in the Kenanga novel, there are thirty-eight data of inner code-mixing consisting Balinese code-mixing in the Indonesian language, ten data of outer code-mixing consisting English code-mixing in the Indonesian language, and one data of mixed code-mixing consisting English and Balinese in Indonesian language; (2) the grammatical code mixing found in the compilation of short stories Sagra are phrases level that divided into two categories namely attributive endocentric phrases with two data found and exocentric phrases with three data found, and in the word level, there are seven data of base words, two data of affixed complex words, and one data of complex word with clitic. Meanwhile, in the Kenanga novel, there was found one data in clause level, the phrases level that divided into two categories, the attributive endocentric phrases with seven data and the exocentric phrases with two data, and in the word level, there were found seventeen data of base words, three data of affixed complex words and two data of complex words with clitic, and in the syntactic category, nouns, verbs and adjectives categories were found; (3) the factors that cause the code-mixing are participant factor and topic factor.

The purpose of this study was to describe the economic impact of agro-tourism development on PTPN XII plantation workers Sirah Kencong Blitar. The method used is qualitative. Determination of informants is using purposive sampling techniques. In this study, informants are community leaders (RT / RW), village elders or people who have lived in the Sirah Kencong tea plantation area, local government, tourism management, and several residents concerned in the management of the tourism area. Data collection techniques are done by observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Test the validity of the data using triangulation techniques. The analysis technique uses an interactive model. The theory used is the Cohen Tourism Socio-Economic Impact theory. The results showed that: 1) The development of agrotourism had economic and social impacts as a continuation for the community, namely in the financial aspect made the increase in job vacancies and increased income from various employment sectors related to tourism 2) the development of the economic sector, such as stalls, shops, souvenir merchants, etc. 3) For the social aspects of the development of Sirah Kencong agro-tourism, there are several impacts for the community, namely increasing the ability of the community in the field of tourism, in social aspects, they become more understanding of how to dress well, communicate well, and also the level education is increasing because of the development of tourism. Megoldási javaslatot tesz arra a kérdésre, hogy miért beszél az általában Bizánc-közeli, illetve a Bizánci Birodalom utódállamait segítő magyarokról az ellenséges keresztes államok történetét megörökítő Krónika a többi korabeli - magyarokhoz közelebb álló - forráshoz képest elismerőbb hangon, dicsérőbb kifejezésekkel: ennek oka elsősorban III. It presents the passages in which the Chronicle mentions the Hungarian people or the Kingdom of Hungary, and compares them with passages in other contemporary literary and historical works in Old French and Byzantine Greek that also mention Hungarians. It proposes a solution to the question of why the Chronicle - which records the history of the hostile Crusader states - speaks of the Hungarians - who were generally close to Byzantium and helped the successor states of the Byzantine Empire - in a more laudatory tone and in more praiseworthy terms than other contemporary sources closer to the Hungarians: the reason for this is to be found primarily in the reputation of Béla Ill’s daughter Margaret and her grandchildren, the Saint-Omer brothers. The study also examines the literary and historical role of the Saint-Omer brothers and presents a detailed philological analysis of the excerpt from the Chronicle in which the author discusses the succession of the Barony of Akova.

Global climate change occurs from both natural and anthropic causes. Anthropic climate change has effects at various scales and occurs faster than the adaptation of species to these changes. Protected natural areas have been created to preserve species from the different threats facing them. Sierra La Laguna is a sky island with almost no anthropic pressure given its natural isolation; it is home to several endemic taxa, including Peromyscus truei lagunae and Sorex ornatus lagunae. This study aims to assess the possible impact of climate change on species endemic to a sky island exposed to virtually no local anthropic pressure. The Sierra La Laguna sky island, located in the southern region of the Baja California peninsula, harbors different vegetation types, including an oak-pine forest at the highest elevations and xeric vegetation at lower ones. Ecological niche models were developed under three climate change scenarios contemplating temperature rises of 1.5 °C and 4.4 °C. There are insufficient localities to make statistically robust models for mammalian species. Therefore, we used plant species typical of the oak-pine forest (Pinus cembroides lagunae, Quercus brandegeei, and Q. devia) and the rodents Peromyscus eva, that thrives in dry deciduous forests, and Chaetodipus rudinoris and C. spinatus, associated with xeric ecosystems. The models show that ecological suitability for the oak species decreases, while it is completely lost for the pine species. On the other hand, P. eva broadens its elevational range, while C. rudinoris and C. spinatus increase their ecological suitability in both area and elevation. The Sierra La Laguna sky island is an area with virtually no regional or local anthropic pressure. Nonetheless, the projections conducted under various climate change scenarios show a loss of up to 100 % of the area of climatic and elevational suitability for species characteristic of the oak-pine forest even with the minimum temperature rise of 1.5 °C. These results suggest that, under these conditions, endemic species such as P. t. lagunae and S. o. lagunae will become extinguished despite the absence of local anthropic pressures.

Abstract:

The coyote (Canis latrans) is a widespread predator with a high degree of adaptation to different ecosystems. The objective of this study was to estimate the relative abundance index, habitat selection, and diet of C. latrans through scent stations, in two types of vegetation located in northwestern Chihuahua. From April 2018 to March 2019, ten fixed scent stations (SS) were placed in pine-oak forest and other ten in semi-open grassland, with a linear separation of 500 meters between each station to achieve a five km transect in each vegetation during 12 samplings (two sampling night per month) for totaling 420 SS after discarding inactive SS. The relative abundance index of coyote showed that both types of vegetation, pine-oak forest (0.30) and semi-open grassland (0.23) were used in a similar way. The habitat selection test (Chi2) showed that coyote abundance and type of vegetation were independent (χ2 = 2.96, P > 0.05), not showing statistically significant differences in annual relative abundance index of coyotes between the two vegetation types. The food items detected in thirty-four scats collected belonged to mammals (55.9 %), fruits (35.3 %) and arthropods (8.8 %). Rodents and lagomorphs were the main source of food. Throughout the sampling period, the pine-oak forest showed the greatest relative abundance index of C. latrans. This may be because the forest provides them with shelter from climatic situations and a greater variety of seeds, fruits and insects. In this study the two seasons with the highest relative abundance were spring and autumn in both ecosystems, coinciding with an increase in rainfall, resulting in an abundance of potential prey (rodents and lagomorphs), and other food items like fruits. Regarding annual diet the most consumed prey were mammals. We found differences in diet between seasons, that can be explained by the variation in food availability among seasons.

While the reasons that lead to the current crisis of the heritage preservation sector in Hungary are manifold, it is worth looking into what might be done to draw attention to some issues that may help consolidate the ground of common values; the foundation, upon which a meaningful dialogue can be constructed, leading to the appreciation of and willingness to care for the historic environment by all actors. There seems to be a hidden conflict between the values of conservation experts and those of laypeople. Possessing thorough knowledge about the nature of historical and architectural values and trained to easily identify these, we are bound to focus more on people, their meanings and values. Much can be learned from pervious, human-centred architectural theory and practice, some of which are reviewed in the study, with special attention to the work of Gyula Hajnóczi. Referring to his space theory and ideas about the perception of space, we are especially grateful for his term homo aedificator suggesting that architecture satisfies material and spiritual needs universal to all human beings. Recognizing the challenges that stem from the differences between architects and non-architects, and likewise, heritage professionals and laypeople, the concepts of environmental psychology can help us show the way to universal values. We look into the method of the semantic differential scale to identify the affective meanings of built historic environments. The first steps of an empirical psychological research allow us to see into the minds and hearts of heritage professionals by assessing how they qualify the subject of their daily expertise. While these preliminary results are definitely intriguing, shedding light on how professionals tend to give meaning, our research continues with the aim to reveal the attitudes and meanings people associate with built historic heritage and find viable tools to mitigate the discrepancies between the profession and the general public.Miközben a magyarországi műemlékvédelem jelenlegi válságának számos oka lehet, érdemes figyelmet fordítanunk arra, hogy mit tehetünk azért, hogy megerősítsük a közös értékek talaját; azt az alapot, amire olyan értelmes párbeszédeket építhetünk, melyek a történeti környezet értékelése és törődése iránti hajlandósághoz vezetnek. Egyre gyakrabban üti fel a fejét az a rejtett ellentét, ami a műemlékes szakértők és a laikusok értékei között feszül. Szakértőként, átfogó ismerettel a történeti és építészeti értékekről, melyeket megtanultunk könnyen azonosítani, hasznos lehet a figyelmünket az emberekre, az ő jelentésadásaikra és értékeikre fordítanunk. Sokat okulhatunk a korábbi, ember- központú építészetelméleti és gyakorlati példákból, melyek közül néhányat tanulmányunkban átte- kintünk, kiemelve Hajnóczi Gyula munkásságát. Térelméletére és térészlelési gondolataira hivat- kozva, különösen hálásak vagyunk a homo aedificator fogalmáért, utalva arra, hogy az építészet minden emberi lény anyagi és szellemi igényeit kielégíti. Felismerve az építész–nemépítész és ehhez hasonlóan a műemlékes szakember–laikus közötti különbözőségek kihívásait, a környezetpszicholó- gia segíthet az univerzális értékek felé vezető út megtalálásában. A szemantikus differenciál módsze- rét hívjuk segítségül az épített történeti környezet érzelmi jelentésének feltárására. Empirikus kutatá- sunk első lépéseivel betekintést nyerünk a műemlékes szakemberek vélekedéseibe, pontosabban abba, hogy hogyan minősítik szakértelmük tárgyát. Bár már ezek az előzetes eredmények is – melyek rávilágítanak arra, hogy a szakemberek hogyan értelmezik a műemlékeket – érdekesek lehetnek, kuta- tásunk azzal a céllal folytatódik, hogy általánosságban feltárjuk az emberek vélekedéseit és a történeti épületeknek tulajdonított jelentéseket. The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) was established in 1989. APEC member countries are remarkably different from each other in many respects. The traditional optimum currency area (OCA) theory may not be suitable for application to APEC. This paper stresses business cycles and trade intensity, which are included in OCA theory, and considers whether or not the "currency union" is suitable. The paper develops a procedure for applying OCA theory to APEC and examines these criteria while taking into account the endogeneity of these criteria. The result indicates that adopting the dollar for currency union is much more reasonable than adopting the yen.

To prove this we set up a spectral sequence computing the homotopy groups of the moduli space ofA∞structures on a spectrum, and use the theory ofS-algebrak-invariants for connectiveS-algebras found in the work of Dugger and Shipley [Postnikov extensions of ring spectra, Algebr. Geom. Topol.6(2006), 1785–1829 (electronic)] to show that all the uniqueness obstructions are hit by differentials.

Abstract:

This study aims to identify optimum currency areas (OCA) variables that distinguish certain Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) member countries from the other EMU members. In the previous studies, EMU members were identified in the light of criteria suggested by the OCA theory. In this study, in order to obtain additional insights, we analyzed OCA variables and the performance of European countries with respect to these variables. Our analysis shows that some of the EMU member countries are dissimilar to the rest of the EMU members with respect to certain OCA criteria.

Abstract:

Copper(II) benzoates ([Formula: see text]OBA-Cu) with various terminal alkoxy carbon numbers, [Formula: see text]–12, were prepared from [Formula: see text]-[Formula: see text]-alkoxy benzoic acids (nOBAs). Fourier transform infrared (IR) experiments suggested that dimerization through copper(II) chelating bidentate coordination created [Formula: see text]OBA-Cu with a linear rod-like structure, similar to the hydrogen-bonded structure of its parent [Formula: see text]OBA. However, the coordination structure of [Formula: see text]OBA-Cu changed during heating. Periodic density functional theory calculations provided valuable insight into the possible arrangement of the parent and copper(II)-coordinated [Formula: see text]OBAs. The formation of binuclear complexes between two adjacent [Formula: see text]OBA-Cu dimers forced [Formula: see text]OBA-Cu to arrange itself in a layer and exhibit smectic A mesophase. Accordingly, four types of IR stretching absorption of benzoyl carbonyl were observed in binuclear [Formula: see text]OBA-Cu complexes, replacing the original symmetric and asymmetric vibrations of benzoyl carboxylate in chelating bidentate coordination. The lateral association by [Formula: see text]–[Formula: see text] interactions between adjacent parent [Formula: see text]OBA dimers preferred a progressive smectic C arrangement. The origin of the odd–even effect was understood from the consideration of the molecular structure.

Abstract:

Purpose: The OECD DAC presents six evaluation criteria. However, this study searches for additional evaluation criteria so that it can allow ODA evaluators to select appropriate evaluation criteria depending on their evaluation purpose and ODA requirements. Originality: Korean government has mechanically applied the six criteria suggested by DAC in evaluating its ODA policy. However, this practice may not meet the various objectives of numerous Korean ODA stakeholders. Thus, it is important to look for additional ODA evaluation criteria which reflect the opinions of the ODA stakeholders. This research aims to make contribution to the field of ODA policy by identifying additional ODA evaluation criteria. Methodology: This research used ‘constituency approach’ of organization theory to find additional ODA evaluation criteria. Initially, seven new (additional) evaluation criteria were identified based on the literature on policy evaluation of public administration and on international debates regarding ODA evaluation reform. Then, the seven criteria were presented to relevant stakeholders (or constituents) in government, public agencies, academia/research institutes, and private sector to conduct survey on the adequacy of the standards. The survey data were analyzed by SPSS ANOVA method. Result: The ANOVA analyses narrowed down the initial seven additional evaluation criteria to five which consist of Korean-style ODA, mutual cooperation, ownership, diversity/equity/inclusion, and democracy. Conclusion and Implication: It is critical to utilize various ODA evaluation criteria to which the ODA constituents can consent. By doing so, ODA policy can adequately evaluate its projects which tend to have diverse objectives and stakeholders. Thus, it is urgently required for the Korean government to adopt new ODA evaluation system, and revise its manuals accordingly.
