Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to contribute to the validation of the Organizational Justice Index (OJI) by Hoy and Tarter (2004), a self-report questionnaire for teachers’ perceptions of fairness in the operation and administration of schools. Design/methodology/approach – In two studies the authors validated the Italian version of the OJI. Study 1 included 164 Italian high school teachers (76.8 percent were female) to test structure and construct validity. Study 2 involved 200 teachers (permanent and temporary teachers) to confirm the structure of the scale, test the construct and criterion validity, and invariance. Findings – Confirmatory factor analyses confirmed the one-factor solution and that the structure of the scale was the same across teachers. Results revealed high internal reliability. The OJI correlated positively with equity, school climate, and job satisfaction, and negatively with depression and burnout. Research limitations/implications – Since the research approach could lead to common method variance issues, it will be important to determine the associations of OJI with non-self-report assessments. Practical implications – The OJI can be applied optimally to: assess potential organizational problems prior to conducting major interventions; investigate school dynamic problems; target interventions designed to enhance perception of organizational justice; incorporate evaluation of organizational justice as part of regular employee assessments. Originality/value – Overall findings fill the need of standardized measures of organizational justice for specific context. The OJI is a valid instrument to measure organizational justice in school, involving different type of teachers.

Abstract:
Identification of the sibling species of the blackfly, S. damnosum complex using their polytene chromosomal banding patterns in Oji river system was carried out with the aim of accurately identifying the particular sibling species of S. damnosum complex involved in the transmission of onchocerciasis in Oji-river LGA and environ. Simulium damnosum complex larvae were collected monthly in forty eight (48) breeding sites in four sampling units for three years in the Oji river system in wet and dry seasons. Collected larvae were preserved in cold Carnoy’s solution prior to processing. Salivary gland chromosomes were extracted, processed and analyzed microscopically for polytene chromosomal banding patterns. Three sibling species of Simulium damnosum complex that breed in the Oji river system were identified in varying degrees. They included S. squamosum, S. yahense and S. damnosum sensu stricto (s.s.). Variation in the occurrence of the sibling species was statistically significant. Dry and wet season catches for all the sibling species in the sampling units were found to differ statistically. The identified sibling species of S. damnosum complex are known to be vectors of Onchocerca volvulus, the causative agent of onchocerciasis, a disease highly prevalent in Oji-river LGA and environ.

Abstract:
The prevalence of youth-onset type 2 diabetes (T2D) is rapidly increasing worldwide, disproportionately affecting Indigenous youth with Oji-Cree heritage from central Canada. Candidate gene screening has uncovered a novel and private polymorphism in the Oji-Cree population in the hepatocyte nuclear factor-1 alpha (HNF-1α) gene, where a highly conserved glycine residue at position 319 is changed to a serine (termed HNF-1αG319S or simply G319S). Oji-Cree youth who carry one or two copies of the “S-allele” present at diagnosis with less obesity, reduced indicators of insulin resistance, and lower plasma insulin levels at diagnosis, suggestive of a primary defect in the insulin-secreting β cells. Few studies on the impact of the HNF-1αG319S variant on β cell function have been performed to date; however, much can be learned from other clinical phenotypes of HNF-1α-deficiency, including HNF-1α mutations that cause maturity-onset diabetes of the young 3 (MODY3). In addition, evaluation of Hnf-1α-deficient murine models reveals that HNF-1α plays a central role in the regulation of insulin secretion by regulating the expression of key genes involved in β cell glucose-sensing, mitochondrial function, and the maintenance of the β cell phenotype in differentiated β cells. The overall goal of this minireview is to explore the impact of HNF-1α-deficiency on the β cell to better inform future research into the mechanisms of β cell dysfunction in Oji-Cree youth with T2D.

Abstract:
Introdución: la osteoporosis juvenil idiopática (OJI) es el término descriptivo aplicado a la osteoporosis de etiología desconocida en la edad pediátrica. Se caracteriza por la pérdida progresiva de la masa ósea y el deterioro de su microarquitectura, lo que lleva al aumento de la fragilidad ósea y a la mayor susceptibilidad de fracturas. El principal objetivo del tratamiento de los niños y adolescentes con densidad mineral ósea disminuida es la prevención de las fracturas óseas por fragilidad. Como medidas generales, se recomienda una alimentación equilibrada, con aporte óptimo de calcio y vitamina D y la promoción de la mayor actividad física posible. Objetivo: presentar un caso de OJI y enfatizar en aspectos del diagnóstico y tratamiento. Caso clínico: adolescente, femenina, de 17 años de edad, que acudió al Departamento de Endocrinología Pediátrica del Instituto Nacional de Endocrinología a la edad de 9 años por fracturas múltiples desde los 5 años, lo que se asociaba a dolores óseos. Ante la sintomatología se indicaron los complementarios correspondientes confirmándose el diagnóstico de OJI e indicándose tratamiento con calcio y vitamina D; se evidenció una evolución favorable con mejoría clínica y radiológica, sin necesidad de administrar tratamiento con bifosfonatos.

Debido a la crisis sanitaria a causa de la pandemia del COVID-19, el Estado optó por detener toda la actividad de los restaurantes afectando significativamente al sector, lo que generó el cierre del 50% de las empresas (Grupo Verona, 2020). Este hecho ha generado el aumento de sus costos por las medidas de protección sanitaria, además que la situación económica actual que atraviesan por sus bajas ventas no les permite implementar nuevas soluciones tecnológicas para incrementar su demanda, ya que tampoco cuentan con mucho capital para invertir en proyectos tecnológicos. Por ello, creamos “Ojo al antojo” una aplicación móvil que funcionará como un intermediario entre los restaurantes y consumidores para ubicar los platillos que deseen para el desayuno, almuerzo y cena, y con opción de delivery dirigido a los consumidores de Lima Metropolitana. Incluso podrán hacer reservas de mesa desde la misma aplicación móvil dirigido a las personas que no tienen tiempo para esperar que alguna mesa se desocupe, además valoran el ahorro de tiempo, la variedad de platos de las tres regiones naturales del país y la comida especializada (vegano, vegetariano u otros). Además, en el mercado existen muy pocas aplicaciones móviles que permitan conectar a los restaurantes Mypes que buscan mostrar su oferta gastronómica, entre ofertas de comidas únicas, exóticas y especiales. Finalmente, se analizaron los indicadores de rentabilidad y se demostró que el negocio es viable y muy rentable, con proyecciones para expandirse a nivel nacional e internacional.
Due to the health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the State chose to stop all restaurant activity, significantly affecting the sector, which led to the closure of 50% of the companies (Grupo Verona, 2020). This fact has generated an increase in their costs due to health protection measures, in addition to the fact that the current economic situation that they are going through due to their low sales does not allow them to implement new technological solutions to increase their demand, since they do not have much capital to invest in technological projects. For this reason, we created “Ojo al antojo” a mobile application that will function as an intermediary between restaurants and consumers to locate the dishes they want for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and with a delivery option aimed at consumers in Metropolitan Lima. They can even make table reservations from the same mobile application aimed at people who do not have time to wait for a table to be vacated, they also value time savings, the variety of dishes from the three natural regions of the country and specialized food (vegan, vegetarian or others). In addition, there are very few mobile applications in the market that allow connecting Mypes restaurants that seek to show their gastronomic offer, among unique, exotic and special food offers. Finally, the profitability indicators were analyzed and it was shown that the business is viable and very profitable, with projections to expand nationally and internationally.

Un parcours se dessine ici, du blaspheme a l'assentiment, qui ne voudrait rien eluder. L'avancee n'est pas rectiligne, le doute se maintient jusqu'au bout. Abstract:
Nuotekų valymo procese susidaro dumblas, kuris yra laikomas atlieka, todėl reikia naudoti tokius tvarkymo būdus, kad jo liktų kuo mažiau. Nuotekų dumblas turi būti tvarkomas pačiu ekonomiškiausiu ir efektyviausiu būdu. Vienas iš tokių būdų yra pūdymas, tačiau jį naudojant ne visais atvejais yra išgaunamas maksimalus biodujų ir energijos kiekis, optimaliai sumažinamas dumblo kiekis, padengiamos dumblo tvarkymo išlaidos. Siekiant išgauti geresnius dumblo pūdymo rezultatus, rekomenduojama naudoti dumblo skaidymą prieš jį pūdant. Viena efektyviausių ir plačiausiai nau- dojamų technologijų pasaulyje yra dumblo skaidymas ultragarsu. Naudojant šią technologiją po pūdymo sausų medžiagų sumažėjo 26,5 %, bepelenių sausų medžiagų suskaidyta 40,6 %, biodujų susidarė 22 % daugiau, nei tuo atveju, kai dumblo skaidymas prieš pūdymą netaikytas.

Straipsnyje nagrinėjamas Uogio upelio, esančio Žemaitijoje ir priklausančio Ventos upės baseinui, savaiminio apsivalymo nuo nitratinio azoto ir fosfatų fosforo efektyvumas. Tyrimams pasirinkti du upelio ruožai: reguliuotas – 2,5 km ir natūralus – 1,6 km. Vandens kokybės tyrimai buvo vykdomi nuo 2018 m. kovo mėn. iki 2019 m. vasario mėn. Cheminiams vandens tyrimams iš 4 upelio taškų 12 mėnesių buvo imami mėginiai ir tiriami nitratų bei fosfatų junginiai. Įvertintas savaiminio apsivalymo nuo nitratų azoto ir fosfatų fosforo reguliuotame ir natūraliame ruožuose efektyvumas ir nustatyti ruožų savaiminio apsivalymo koeficientai. Nitratinio azoto savaiminio apsivalymo koeficiento vidutinė reikšmė reguliuotame upelio ruože gauta 0,114, o natūraliame ruože – 0,388. Fosfatų fosforo savaiminio apsivalymo koeficiento vidutinė reikšmė reguliuotame upelio ruože gauta 0,237, o natūraliame ruože – 0,735. Tai rodo, kad upelis geriau apsivalo natūraliame upelio ruože. Pakrančių apsaugos juostose reguliuotame ruože aptiktų medžių dažnis siekė 46 %, o natūraliame ruože – 88 %. Krūmai reguliuotame ruože aptinkami 62 % dažniu, o natūraliame – 100 %. Pakrančių apsaugos juostų pločiai atitinka teisinių normų reikalavimus: reguliuotame ruože 3–25 metrai, o natūraliame ruože 8–25 metrai.

Abstract:
Straipsnyje analizuojamas renatūralizuoto Vašuokos upelio vandens kokybės kaitos vertinimas 1 km ruože. Upės tiriamajame ruože yra įrengtos natūralios inžinerinės priemonės, tokios kaip akmenų metiniai, rąstai, medžių nuovartos. Vandens kokybei indentifikuoti buvo nagrinėjami fiziniai-cheminiai paramentrai (nitratų azotas, fosfatinis fosforas bei ištirpęs deguonis). Nitratų azoto koncentracija tiriama kadmio mažinimo metodu, fosfatinio fosforo-askorbo rūgšties metodu, o ištirpusio deguonies kiekis – pagal Winklerio metodą. Mėginiai buvo imami pavasarį, vasaros pradžioje ir pabaigoje iš 9 tiriamųjų taškų. Taškai pasirinkti taip, kad būtų ištirtas visas pasirinktas upės ruožas. Tam, kad būtų tinkamai įvertinta vandens kokybė, mėginiai imti upės tekėjimo kryptimi. Straipsnyje yra pateiktas išsamus Vašuokos upelio tyrimas, įvertinta vandens kokybės kaita renatūralizuotame upės ruože.

Abstract:
Net maži, individualūs buitinių nuotekų valymo įrenginiai turi būti efektyvūs ir šalinti iš nuotekų azoto bei fosforo junginius. Aplinkosauginiai reikalavimai griežtėja, nuo 2019 m. lapkričio mėnesio įsigalios Nuotekų tvarkymo reglamento pataisos, pagal kurias mažuosiuose (kurie per dieną išvalo iki 5 m3 nuotekų) valymo įrenginiuose bus privaloma iš nuotekų pašalinti azoto junginius iki 25 mgN/l, o fosforo junginius – iki 5 mgP/l. Individualiais įrenginiais išvalomų nuotekų likutinė tarša beveik nekontroliuojama, nėra sukaupta duomenų apie tokių įrenginių darbo efektyvumą. Reikalingi išvalytų nuotekų kokybės tyrimai ir jų analizė. Straipsnyje analizuojami keleto gamintojų (,,Traidenio‘‘, ,,Dinaito‘‘ ir ,,August‘‘) platinamais mažiausiais biologinio valymo įrenginiais pasiekiami nuotekų išvalymo rodikliai, esant realioms įrenginių eksploatavimo sąlygoms. Tiriami išvalytų nuotekų mėginiai (matuojamos ChDS, BDS7, nitritų azoto, nitratų azoto, amonio azoto ir fosfatų fosforo koncentracijos) bei įrenginių veiklusis dumblas (atliekama mikrobiologinė analizė). Tyrimų rezultatai lyginami su norminiais reikalavimais.

Abstract:
Lietuvoje apie 700 tūkst. gyventojų vis dar iš šachtinių šulinių tebevartoja geriamąjį vandenį, kurio kokybė neužtikrina saugaus jo vartojimo. 2017–2018 metais tirta Šiaulių miesto, rajono ir apskrities šachtinių šulinių vandens kokybė. Nustatytos geležies, fosfatų, fluoridų, chloridų, bromidų, nitritų, nitratų, sulfatų jonų koncentracijos ir bendrasis vandens kietis. Nustatyta, kad 60 % tirtųjų Šiaulių miesto ir apskrities šachtinių šulinių vandens kokybė pagal nitratų ir geležies jonų koncentracijas neatitinka HN 24:2017 higienos normos reikalavimų. Didžiausia geležies jonų koncentracija nustatyta Šiaulių rajone, sodų bendrijos šulinio vandenyje (214 μg/l), kur iš viso 10 % tirtųjų mėginių viršijo HN 24:2017 higienos normos reikalavimus. Šiaulių miesto gyventojai, vartojantys vandenį iš šachtinių šulinių, turėtų atkreipti dėmesį į vandens kokybę dėl didelės (daugiau, kaip 300 mg/l) nitratų jonų koncentracijos, iki 6 kartų viršijančios HN 24:2017 higienos normos reikalavimus. Gyventojams rekomenduojama aktyviau jungtis prie centralizuotų vandentiekio tinklų arba periodiškai tikrinti geriamojo vandens kokybę.

Abstract:
The article deals with sensor-related solutions to improve waste collection and monitoring in public waste bins. Availability of use of an inexpensive monitoring system for measurement process was tested. The system consists of wireless nodes that use ultrasonic sensors to measure the empty space in the waste bins. A sensor gateway based on Long Rage Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) protocol was used. Purpose of this work was to describe the new sensor node typology based on low-power and low-cost components. The article analyses the architecture of nodes in detail, focusing on energyefficient technologies and policies to extend battery life by reducing energy consumption through hardware and software optimization. Measurements were performed at five points in two size of containers with different two levels of filling and mixed type of waste. The results show that existing technologies are mature enough to create and deploy inexpensive additional sensors for outbound bins and that such a system can provide the necessary insights on how to optimize waste collection processes and avoid overflowing containers.

Abstract:
Quadratic residue diffuser (QRD) is a device that distributes the acoustic energy of intense reflections by its spatial and temporal dispersion. The quadratic residue diffuser consists of a series of wells of different depths and the same width. Optimal diffusion is very important for perceiving musical sound and eliminating unwanted acoustic effects e.g. echoes. For the purpose to determine the optimal diffusion, Schroeder used mathematical number sequences allowing to diffuse the sound in a semicircular pattern from the devices. In this paper, the presented quadratic residue diffuser modeling method is presented. Result of theoretical modeling at a frequency of 500 Hz was obtained. The estimated width of the wells is 9.4 cm. The sound scattering and sound diffusion coefficient different number of the diffusor wells were researched. It was obtained that with an increasing number of wells of the diffuser leads to an increment in sound diffusion at the design frequency for diffuser the same width sequences.

Abstract:
Paviršinių nuotekų surinkimas ir valymas yra būtinas ir reikšmingas siekiant išlaikyti gerą paviršinių vandenis telkinių ekologinę būklę. Sunkieji metalai, patekę į vandens telkinius, akumuliuojasi vandens gyvūnuose ir augaluose. Padidėjęs biogeninių medžiagų kiekis paviršinuose vandenyse gali sukelti eutrofikaciją. Paviršinių nuotekų teršalų visiškam pašalinimui neužtenka įprastų valymo įrenginių, kuriuose teršalai šalinami taikant sedimentacijos, mechaninio filtravimo ir biologinio valymo procesus. Vienas iš papildomų teršalų šalinimo būdų – adsorbentų naudojimas, todėl ieškoma alternatyvių sorbentų, kiurie turėtų gerą adsorbcijos gebą, būtų lengvai prieinami ir pigūs. Šio darbo tikslas – ištirti ir įvertinti paprastosios pušies (Pinus Sylvestris L.) kankorėžių taikymo galimybes vario, cinko jonų ir azoto pašalinimui iš paviršinių nuotekų. Nustatyta, kad pušų kankorėžiai pasižymi ypač geromis vario ir cinko jonų adsorbcijos savybėmis iš vandeninių tirpalų, kai metalo koncentracija – 1 mg/l, biosorbento koncentracija – 10 g/l ir kontakto laikas – 60 min., Zn didžiausias pašalinimo efektyvumas siekia 95 %, o Cu – 96 %. Azoto pašalinimo efektyvumas – 8 %, tačiau chemiškai modifikuoti NaOH tirpalu pušų kankorėžiai pasižymi žymiai geresniu sorbcijos efektyvumu, negu natūralūs. Bendrojo azoto pašalinimo efektyvumas 5–2,5 mm ir 2,5–1 mm frakcijos sorbentuose padidėjo apie 6 kartus, o <1 mm – net 30 kartų.

Abstract:
Elektrocheminių dujų jutiklių potencialas tikslinėms dujoms nustatyti vis labiau vertinamas ir tiriamas dėl savo kompaktiškumo, efektyvumo, mažų laiko ir finansinių sąnaudų. Eksperimentiniams tyrimams atlikti zolių-gelių metodu, naudojant skirtingus tirpiklius ir priedus, susintetintos skirtingos WO3 plonasluoksnės dangos, kurios buvo padengtos ant stiklo substrato ir kaitinamos krosnyje esant 500 ºC, 400 ºC, 300 ºC temperatūrai. Bandymu metu skleidžiančiosios elektrinės mikroskopijos (SEM) ir rentgeno spindulių difrakcijos metodais (XRD) įvertinta WO3 plonasluoksnių dangų kristalinė ir morfologinė struktūra, poringumas ir nanokristalų dydis. Elektrocheminės WO3 jutiklio savybės ištirtos atliekant ciklinės voltamperometrijos bandymus ir WO3 elektrodo atviros grandinės potencialo atsaką į apšvietimą 0,5 M H2SO4 tirpale. Tyrimo metu nustatyta, kad zolių-gelių sintezės būdu susintetintų WO3 plonasluoksnių dangų kristalinė ir morfologinė struktūra priklauso nuo zolių-gelių sintezėje naudojamų priedų bei kaitinimo temperatūros. Didžiausio kristališkumo dangos susidarė zolius-gelius kaitinant 500 ºC. Atliekant PVA + H2O + EtOH + oksalo r. būdu, kaitintų 500 ºC, gautų plonasluoksnių dangų atsako į NOx dujas tyrimus, nustatyta, kad WO3 reaguoja į azoto dujas.
