Abstract:
AbstractAfter finding more planets than expected at the shortest period, there has been an effort to explain their numbers by weak tidal friction. However, we find that the strength of tidal dissipation that would produce the occurence distribution found from Kepler planet candidates is different for giant versus medium radii planets. This discrepancy can be resolved if there is a “flow” of the largest planets regularly arriving such that they go through a “hot Jupiter” stage. We also show a correlation of higher stellar Fe/H with higher eccentricity of giant planets that may be from smaller planets having been sent into the star by the migration of the larger planet. This disruption of the orbits of medium and smaller planets could account for the lower occurrence of “hot Neptune” medium radius planets.

Abstract:
A new approach to the use of seedling complexes of greenhouse farms in the new field of renewal of the Russian forestry is presented. Due to the current situation in the forestry of the Russian Federation, the problem of updating vast areas of forests that have undergone intensive logging and fires has arisen. Studying the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of June 8, 2022 No1043 «On Amendments to the Regulation on the Specifics of the Use, protection, protection, reproduction of forests located on agricultural lands' and the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of June 15, 2022. No1064 «On Amendments to Appendix No10 to the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No353 dated March 12, 2022», as well as a number of additional documents on this issue, the authors of the article had a proposal to address this issue. Obtaining planting material of a wide range of forest tree species is possible with the use of domestic equipment and intensive hydroponic technologies, which are widely used in the world and in the Russian Federation in greenhouse vegetable growing. Seedling complexes are part of greenhouse enterprises and produce planting material all year round, without restrictions. The problem of restoration of forest lands in the Russian Federation is extremely relevant. For this purpose, there is a material and technical base of the greenhouse vegetable growing sector, numbering more than 200 farms capable of mastering the production of seedlings of young plants of various tree species. The need for planting material only for coniferous trees at the moment is 165 million pieces. In this regard, in order to cover the stated needs, the capacity of forest nurseries available in the Russian Federation must be increased by 3 times. The national project «Ecology» has been approved, designed to increase the area of reforestation to 100% by 2024. The urgency of creating the latest nurseries for growing tree seedlings in protected ground conditions, where all modes of growing young tree seedlings are automatically provided, has been confirmed. Many years of experience in creating and operating seedling complexes in the structure of greenhouse complexes of the Russian Federation will reliably provide a solution to this issue, since there is already a real practice of growing them on the basis of Nizhny Novgorod JSC «Dzerzhinskoe».

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Period cut-off and period–colour relation are two special characters of W UMa-type contact binaries. In the past, many authors noted these two properties, however, a comprehensive study was still lacking. In order to reveal a theoretical mechanism behind these two peculiarities, we collected 365 contact binaries whose orbital periods, mass ratios, masses, and radii are compiled and attempted to make this idea come true by statistical means. Then, we obtained a lower limit (0.15 d) of orbital period by studying the correlation among four physical parameters (orbital period P, mass ratio q, mass of primary star M1, and separation between two components a). Furthermore, we used the most reliable parameters (P and q) to check our result, fortunately, all evidence indicated that our predicted value is credible. In the end, the reason why the period–colour relation exists was also discussed.

Abstract:
AbstractWe studied vigilance while sleeping in wintering Gadwalls (Anas strepera) in the Camargue (southern France) during the 1992–1993 and 1994–1995 winters. Vigilance while sleeping was reduced at the beginning and at the end of the winter. During mid-winter, birds in sleeping posture showed the highest level of vigilance, with longer peeks and shorter interpeek intervals. There was no effect of sex on the intensity of vigilant sleep, nor on changes in the pattern of vigilant sleep across the winter period. We discuss the results in relation to the behavioral ecology and energetic constraints of wintering Gadwalls in the Camargue. We suggest that the variation in sleep, measured by eye-closure, and vigilance, measured by eye-opening, in relation to winter period is a result of a trade-off between two opposite requirements: to save energy by sleeping and to monitor the environment by being vigilant.

Abstract:
Since the 1990s, the Chinese government has carried out the reform of state-owned enterprises involving the retrenchment of millions of workers. One outcome of this reform has been labour unrest across the country. This article addresses the following questions about laid-off workers' collective resistance to the reform: why has collective action repeatedly occurred in a still authoritarian regime; and when are the workers more likely to take action? It argues that the workers' action is a result of two types of interaction, one between the workers and the government, and the other among workers themselves. Collective action is likely to occur when the workers expect to succeed. In addition, workers should be able to co-ordinate their actions, which is likely when there are mechanisms that make mobilization among them possible. The article concludes that worker resistance in the 1990s was not enough to stop the reform because several constraints made it difficult for them to take forceful action.

Abstract:
The stress and deformation of cut-off wall will be changed as the water level cyclical varying during reservoir's operation. Therefore, the prediction is important to the safety and stability of reservoir. In this paper, the seepage characteristics of the highest and the lowest water level condition have been predicted, and the variation of horizontal displacement is discussed under the vehicle load of road and cyclical fluid load. Meanwhile, the displacement distribution and stress state in junction area of the upper wall and the lower wall are obtained. The results show that the Cut-off wall is less affected by the vehicle load of road, and its stress and deformation will gradually stabilize after the second water store-discharge cycle. The upper reinforced concrete wall will tilt towards outside of reservoir, but the deformation is very small at lower plastic concrete wall. The guide wall has a good effect on preventing the upper wall's inclining and improving the lower wall's stress environment. Besides, the maximum principle stress of cut-off wall is too small to course plastic failure.

Journal of Neurosurgery 112, no. 6 (June 2010): 1263–66. http://dx.doi.org/10.3171/2009.10.jns091032.

Abstract:
Object A collision/implantation or microlesion effect is commonly described after subthalamic nucleus (STN) implantation for high-frequency stimulation, and this is presumed to reflect disruption of cells and/or fibers. Off-period dystonia, a frequent cause of disability in patients with advanced Parkinson disease, can lead to the need for surgical treatment. The authors assessed the early effect of this microlesion on off-period dystonia. Methods The authors assessed 30 consecutive patients with the advanced levodopa-responsive form of Parkinson disease. The patients' symptoms were Hoehn and Yahr Scale score ≥ 3, the mean duration of their disease was 11.4 ± 3.5 years, and they had undergone bilateral implantation of electrodes within the STN for high-frequency stimulation between February 2004 and December 2006. The microlesion effect was defined by the clinical improvement (Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale [UPDRS] Part III score, UPDRS Part IV, item 35) assessed the morning of the 3rd day following STN implantation, after at least a 12-hour withdrawal of dopaminergic treatment and before the programmable pulse generator was switched on (off-drug/off-stimulation mode). Results Compared with baseline (off state), the microlesion effect improved the motor score (UPDRS Part III) by 27%. Subscores for tremor, rigidity, and bradykinesia respectively improved by 42, 37, and 25%. Nineteen patients (63%) suffered from off-period dystonia before surgery. Twelve (41%) reported complete relief of their symptoms in the immediate postoperative period and remained free of painful off-period dystonia throughout the 6-month follow-up period. Conclusions The author postulated that off-period dystonia alleviation may reflect both a microsubthalamotomy and micropallidotomy effect. They hypothesize, moreover, that the microlesion could play a role in the 6-month postoperative outcome.

The objective of this study was to investigate the differences in climatic factors and fruit quality between on- and off-season production periods. Climate, soil, and mangosteen measurements were all studied during on- and off-season production. We chose 40 mangosteen trees and observed flowering and fruit set rates over two production periods. The results showed that the number of flowers per branch, the number of fruits per branch, the circumference of fruits, and the fruit weight were higher during the on-season mangosteen production period than during the off-season mangosteen production period. However, the number of edible pulp segments, peel thickness, percentage of translucent flesh, and fruit gumminess were lower in the on-season mangosteen production period than in the off-season mangosteen production period. The percentage of fruit scars did not differ between the on- and off-season mangosteen production periods. When compared to the on-season mangosteen production period, there was lower relative humidity, soil moisture at 120 cm depth, and leaf wetness at 15 cm above ground during the off-season mangosteen production period; however, there was higher air temperature, soil moisture, and soil temperature at all four depth levels. Abstract:
By numerical calculation, it analyzed the seepage effects of plastic concrete cut-off wall in in construction period. On construction period, the seepage flow from inside of channel to outside at unit length is 0.753m3/h. The seepage flow from under plastic concrete cut-off wall is 0.646m3/h which is 85.79% of total seepage flow. Under certain condition on operation period, the seepage flow from inside of channel to outside at unit length is 0.394m3/h. The seepage flow from under plastic concrete cut-off wall is 0.358m3/h which is 90.86% of total seepage flow. Under another condition on operation period, the seepage flow from inside of channel to outside at unit length is 0.249m3/h. The seepage flow from under plastic concrete cut-off wall is 0.236m3/h which is 94.78% of total seepage flow. In It showed the plastic concrete cut-off wall has obvious effect.

Abstract:
The “cooling-off period” has remained a fixture of domestic consumer-protection legislation. Yet, as I argue in this paper, the longevity of these provisions is neither the result of their effectiveness at solving the problems they were intended to solve nor the forces of path dependence. Rather, I suggest that the cooling-off period has endured because of a process of gradual ideational adaptation. Over the course of the 20th century, legal and economic intellectuals advising government agencies have abandoned traditional consumer-protection rationales that led to the creation of cooling-off periods in favor of a paternalistic policy orientation that integrates behavioral science insights. Though the organizational problems the cooling-off period were expected to resolve have been more effectively addressed through the concurrent institution of other protective measures, such as the disclosure document and compulsory advisory provisions, the cooling-off period has found new uses and advocates, which have made it far from obsolete.

Abstract:
We investigate the synchronization of time-delayed complex dynamical networks with periodic on-off coupling. We derive sufficient conditions for the complete and generalized outer synchronization. Both our analytical and numerical results show that two time-delayed networks can achieve outer synchronization even if the couplings between the two networks switch off periodically. This synchronization behavior is largely dependent of the coupling strength, the on-off period, the on-off rate and the time delay. In particular, we find that the synchronization time nonmonotonically increases as the time delay increases when the time delay step is not equal to an integer multiple of the on-off period.

Abstract:
PT Harmony Land Group is property developer company for landed houses residential that founded by Fithor Muhammad and Ramadani in 2016. As a company that builds from the scratch, Harmony Land grew so fast, only 5 years, in 2021 Harmony Land already has 25 residential projects with 1004 units in five cities, Depok, Jakarta, Bogor, Sukabumi and Medan. In the fourth year of growth, an unexpected big disaster is coming, Pandemic Covid 19. The property business is greatly affected, people are afraid to leave the house, even less to buy a house. After struggling to survive for two years in a pandemic situation without firing any employees, Harmony Land started looking for the next opportunity to bring Harmony Land to the next level. One big issue that Harmony Land wants to solve is increasing the act per ask at A5 costumer journey. In 2021, the number of ask customers which have already contacted Harmony Land are 17.789, while the number of unit transactions are 105 houses. Only 0,59% act per ask and lost 17.684 potential customers. So, Harmony Land wants to increase the sales by developing a marketing strategy to increase conversion rate act per ask. This research uses the AFI framework. Analysis internal and external that will continue to Formulation strategy and be closed by the Implementation plan of that strategy. Through external analysis, there are many opportunities after pandemic covid where other competitors still wait and see, while customers start to bounce again. From the customer analysis, customers buy houses in Harmony Land because of price, location, design concept and selling service. So, for increasing act per ask, the proposed marketing strategy is to develop thematic residential in many locations with caregiver service to help more customers with many product option each target market area.
