Abstract:
One-against-rest (OAR) is a well known multiclassification structure, which is an extension from binary classifiers. It has shown its great potential in pattern recognition and hyperspectral data processing. However, existence of unclassified region limits its application. In this paper, a new multiclassifier based on OAR combined with one-against-one (OAO) structure is proposed. In the multiclassifier, OAO is used to classify the unclassified region to improve performance of OAR. At the same time, the formation of unclassified region is discussed, and the pattern of selecting classifiers for secondary classification on unclassified region is proposed. To compare secondary classifiers and prove the conclusion, other six classifiers are selected , which are decision tree (DT), minimum distance (MD) based on Euclidean distance, MD based on Euclidean distance with kernel function, MD based on Mahalanobis distance, spectral mapping classifier (SMC) and maximum likelihood classifier (MLC). The SVM is used for OAR, OAO and DT in experiment and a hyperspectral remote sensing image is used as testing samples.

Abstract:
In view of the problems in traditional fault diagnosis method, such as small samples and nonlinear relations, a fault diagnosis method based on improved multi-class classification algorithm and relevance vector machine (RVM) is proposed in the paper. Through improving the majority-vote strategy of traditional One-Against-One (OAO) algorithm and combining the features of OAO and One-Against-Rest (OAR) algorithms, the k-class classification problem is transformed into k(k-1)/2 three-class classification problems based on the proposed majority-vote strategy of double-layer and thereby an improved multi-class classification algorithm of One-Against-One-Against-Rest (OAOAR) is presented. And on each three-class classification issue, OAO and RVM as the binary classifier are adopted to achieve the multi-class classification of RVM. Numerical simulations of UCI datasets and fault diagnostic experiments results of power transformers both demonstrate that the proposed method performs significantly better than other traditional methods in terms of increasing the diagnostic accuracy, optimizing the voting results, strengthening the diagnostic confidence and identifying the hidden classes, and has more practical value in engineering.

Abstract:
Nrf2 and NF-κB play a key role in inflammation-driven cancers. Conjugation of anti-inflammatory drugs with oleanolic acid oxime (OAO) may enhance their therapeutic potential as a result of downregulation of these pathways. Novel OAO derivatives conjugated with indomethacin (IND) were synthesized, and their effect on the activation and expression of Nrf2 and NF-κB in HepG2 hepatoma cells and THLE-2 immortalized normal hepatocytes was evaluated in relation to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. Treatment with OAO–IND conjugates reduced the activation of Nrf2 and NF-κB and the expression of their active forms in HepG2 cells, while in normal hepatocytes, the activation of Nrf2 was increased and NF-κB diminished. Compounds 3d, 3-indomethacinoxyiminoolean-12-en-28-oic acid morpholide, and 3c, 3-indomethacinoxyiminoolean-12-en-28-oic acid benzyl ester, were the most efficient. In THLE-2 cells, as opposed to HepG2 cells, the expressions of SOD-1 and NQO1 were significantly enhanced after treatment with these compounds. The COX-2 expression was diminished in both cell lines. OAO–IND derivatives affected the cell cycle arrest at G2/M, leading to increased apoptosis and increased number of resting HepG2 cells. Therefore, the conjugation of IND with OAO derivatives may preserve cancer cells against chemoresistance through the inhibition of the Nrf2-ARE pathway and NF-κB and, at the same time, exert a chemopreventive effect in normal hepatocytes.

Abstract:
Tato práce se zaměřuje na klasifikaci vysokofrekvenčních vysílačů v závislosti na nedokonalostech jejich komponent pomocí algoritmu strojového učení. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části - teoretickou a praktickou.V teoretické části je nejprve popsána základní struktura vysílače s přímou konverzí a jsou uvedeny nedokonalosti rádiového front-endu, které mohou být využity ke klasifikaci. Dále jsou vysvětleny vybrané metody strojového učení s učitelem, zejména metoda support vector machines a neuronové sítě. Praktická část se zabývá implementací a dosaženými výsledky těchto dvou metod v prostředí MATLAB na problému klasifikace rádiových front-endů.

Mitt i den urbana miljön i Henriksdal, intill Hammarby Sjöstad, bildar den stora innergården en grön oas för elever från förskoleklass till sjätte klass. Skolbyggnaden är sluten från omgivningen för att skydda mot intensivt vägbuller från Värmdövägen, men glasad inåt för att möjliggöra odling i ett tempererat klimat. Växtligheten i odlingskorridorerna ska ge både en lugn miljö med frisk luft och en tidig förståelse för hur naturen fungerar. På taket finns biodlingar och solpaneler för både el och varmvatten. Odlingskorridorerna, utformade som slingrande ramper, sammanlänkar våningsplanen med varandra samtidigt som de ger ytor både för lek och vilsamma pauser. Här får man möjlighet att experimentera och studera växterna på nära håll. Skolans utformning ger en ständig kontakt med årstidernas skiftningar: Stora träd på innergården filtrerar ljuset under de varma månaderna men släpper in ljuset under vintern. Den höga delen av byggnaden skärmar av den värsta trafiken och den lägre delen släpper in ljuset från söder.
In the heart of the urban environment in Henriksdal, next to Hammarby Sjöstad, the large inner courtyard forms a green oasis for the students. The school building is closed from the surrounding area to protect against intense road noise, but have glass facades inwards to allow for cultivation in a temperate climate. The vegetation in the Cultivation Corridors should provide both a calm environment with fresh air and an early understanding of how nature works. On the roof, there are beekeeping and solar panels for both electricity and hot water. The Cultivation Corridors, designed as winding ramps, connect the floor plan with each other while providing surfaces for play as well as restful breaks. The school's design provides constant contact with the shifts of the seasons: Large trees in the courtyard filter the light during the warm months but emit light during the winter. The tall part of the building is protecting from the worst traffic and the lower part emits the sunlight from the south.

Abstract:

Barn med Down syndrom har ofta återkommande hörselproblem som exempelvis vaxpropp och sekretorisk mediaotit. Vanligt förekommande hörselnedsättning bland dessa barn är en fluktuerande konduktiv hörselnedsättning. Den utvecklingsstörning som syndromet orsakar kan leda till att barnen ej kan medverka aktivt vid konventionella hörselmätningar. Metoder för hörselutredning av små barn och barn som ej kan medverka adekvat är BRA, OAE och tympanometri. Syftet med arbetet är att belysa resultaten från BRA, OAE och tympanometri hos barn med DS. Vidare syftar studien till att belysa tänkbara habiliterande insatser för att bibehålla eller förbättra hörseln hos barn med Down syndrom. Som metod används systematisk litteraturstudie. Resultatet från föreliggande studie visar att mätresultat skiljer sig mellan barn med Down syndrom och barn utan Down syndrom. Strukturella avvikelser i hörselsystemet hos barn med Down syndrom påverkar resultaten från dessa mätningar. Det är därför av vikt att resultaten tolkas utifrån kunskaper om hur olika faktorer i hörselsystemet orsakade av syndromet kan påverka resultaten. Barn med DS behöver regelbundna och återkommande hörselhabiliterande insatser för att förebygga konduktiva hörselnedsättningar.

Syftet med projektet har varit att skapa en plats som kan ge besökaren en möjlighet att få sakta upp för ett ögonblick, och därigenom bli mer medveten om sin omgivning och sina medmänniskor.
In this report, Sandra Petersson describes her process of transforming a specific public environment from being a path between two points, to become a momentary breathing space. The purpose of the project has been to create a space, where the visitor will be able to slow down for a moment, and therefore become more aware of his surroundings and his fellow beings.

Performance of static analysis of the London Eye structure is the subject of this diploma thesis. First chapters of the thesis analyses overview of realized structures of the Ferris wheel. The main part of the thesis analyses the London Eye structure itself. Specifically are described response analyses, sensitivity analyses, analyses of ultimate limit state and serviceability, stress analyses, analyses of fatigue stress and lifetime analyses. The thesis describes among static analysis also a design of dynamic vibration absorbers. The results of each analysis are evaluated in the final chapters.

Abstract:

Många patienter upplever en känsla av oro och frustration under vårdvistelsen. Obehandlad oro kan leda till ökade komplikationer. Oro och ångest är vanligt förekommande hos patienter, men går ofta sjuksköterskan obemärkt förbi. Det är av betydelse att sjuksköterskan kan identifiera och kommunicera om känslor med patienten, samt känna trygghet i sitt sätt att kommunicera. Syftet var att belysa hur sjuksköterskan genom kommunikation kan hjälpa patienten att reducera oro och ångest under vårdvistelsen. Studien genomfördes som en litteraturstudie baserad på 16 vetenskapliga artiklar. Resultatet visade att identifiering är en förutsättning för att kunna reducera oro hos patienten. Faktorer som ökar oro är rädsla, tid och bristande kommunikationsfärdigheter hos sjuksköterskan. Patientcentrerad vård, samt interpersonell förmåga är av stor betydelse för att minska oro. Effektiv reducering av oro sker när sjuksköterskan tillämpar interaktionsprocesser. Betydelsen ligger i att finna kommunikativa tekniker som sjuksköterskan kan använda i mötet med patienten. Ett sätt kan vara att använda det sokratiska samtalet för att kommunicera om känslor. Vidare forskning om det sokratiska samtalets betydelse i omvårdnaden, för att minska oro hos patienten är av intresse.

Od 2012. godine, 1070 državljana zemalja Zapadnog Balkana otišlo je da živi i bori se na teritorijama pod kontrolom terorističkih organizacija u Siriji i Iraku. Oko 200 njih su bili maloljetni u vrijeme odlaska. Tokom godina, u sirijskom i iračkom teatru sukoba rođeno je još mnogo djece čiji su roditelji državljani Zapadnog Balkana. Do kraja 2019. godine, oko 485 osoba se vratilo kući, što Zapadni Balkan čini regionom sa najvećom koncentracijom povratnika iz Sirije i Iraka u Evropi. Još stotine, uglavnom maloljetnika, ostaju zarobljeni u nesigurnim uslovima u Siriji, sa neizvjesnim izgledima za repatrijaciju. Brojne zemlje se bore sa tim šta da rade sa državljanima koji su otišli da žive i bore se u takozvanom „kalifatu“ Islamske države (IS). Međutim, iskustvo i razumijevanje onoga što omogućava efikasno angažovanje u pogledu povratnika iz Sirije, naročito djece povratnika, u ranoj je fazi. Ova napomena o politici pruža preporuke o načinima za pristupanje rehabilitaciji i reintegraciji (R&R) djece povratnika na Zapadni Balkan, kombinujući novonastale dobre prakse sa vodećim principima konvencija, sporazuma i protokola usmjerenih na prava djece.

Highly imperiled Oregon white oak ecosystems are a regional conservation priority of numerous organizations, including Oregon Metro, a regional government serving over one million people in the Portland area. Previously dominant systems in the Pacific Northwest, upland prairie and oak woodlands are now experiencing significant threat, with only 2% remaining in the Willamette Valley in small fragments (Hulse et al. 2002). These fragments are of high conservation value because of the rich biodiversity they support, including rare and endemic species, such as Delphinium leucophaeum (Oregon Department of Agriculture, 2020). Since 2010, Metro scientists and volunteers have collected phenology data on approximately 140 species of forbs and graminoids in regional oak prairie and woodlands. Phenology is the study of life-stage events in plants and animals, such as budbreak and senescence in flowering plants, and widely acknowledged as a sensitive indicator of environmental change (Parmesan 2007). Indeed, shifts in plant phenology have been observed over the last few decades as a result of climate change (Parmesan 2006). In oak systems, these changes have profound implications for plant community composition and diversity, as well as trophic interactions and general ecosystem function (Willis 2008). While the original intent of Metro’s phenology data-collection was to track long-term phenology trends, limitations in data collection methods have made such analysis difficult. Rather, these data are currently used to inform seasonal management decisions on Metro properties, such as when to collect seed for propagation and when to spray herbicide to control invasive species. Metro is now interested in fine-tuning their data-collection methods to better capture long-term phenology trends to guide future conservation strategies. Addressing the regional and global conservation issues of our time will require unprecedented collaboration. Phenology data collected on Metro properties is not only an important asset for Metro’s conservation plan, but holds potential to support broader research on a larger scale. As a leader in urban conservation, Metro is poised to make a meaningful scientific contribution by sharing phenology data with regional and national organizations. Data-sharing will benefit the common goal of conservation and create avenues for collaboration with other scientists and conservation practitioners (Rosemartin 2013). In order to support Metro’s ongoing conservation efforts in Oregon white oak systems, I have implemented a three-part master’s project. Part one of the project examines Metro’s previously collected phenology data, providing descriptive statistics and assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the methods by which the data were collected. Part two makes recommendations for improving future phenology data-collection methods, and includes recommendations for datasharing with regional and national organizations. Part three is a collection of scientific vouchers documenting key plant species in varying phases of phenology for Metro’s teaching herbarium. The purpose of these vouchers is to provide a visual tool for Metro staff and volunteers who rely on plant identification to carry out aspects of their job in plant conservation. Each component of this project addresses specific aspects of Metro’s conservation program, from day-to-day management concerns to long-term scientific inquiry.
