Abstract:
Objective: To assess quantity and quality of nutrition and food safety information in science textbooks prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), India for grades I through X. Design: Content analysis. Methods: A coding scheme was developed for quantitative and qualitative analyses. Two investigators independently coded the data and inter-coder reliability was assessed using Cohen’s Kappa. The inferences were then reviewed by an expert group. Results: There was high agreement (Kappa = 0.89) between coders. Nutrition topics got > 10% pages in textbooks of grades I to VII, while they were omitted in subsequent grades. Food safety got a mere 1% of page allocation only in grades I to III books. Over 25% of biology illustrations related to nutrition in grades I, II and IV but not in others. Nutrition topics in textbooks beyond grade IV were repetitive and inconsistent. Some illustrations depicted uncommon foods and had urban bias. Conclusions: Nutrition and food safety content in science textbooks is low. Important topics such as nutritional needs during adolescence, obesity, unhealthy foods and food labelling are not covered. These findings provide direction for strengthening textbook content to promote nutrition education in schools.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction: The 2018 Basic Health Research showed a high prevalence of anemia (32%), Chronic Energy Deficiency (36.3%), and overweight and obesity (16.0%) among adolescents. Nutrition education is crucial to be taught to adolescents from an early age. However, there is a lack of research on content related to nutrition education in textbooks of school policies on nutrition and health. This study aimed to evaluate the nutrition education on senior high schools in Mamuju Regency. Methods: This qualitative study examined word by word of high school students textbooks’ content of nutrition and health education. The main study material was textbooks used by high school students in Mamuju Regency. The research informants were students and teachers. The analysis was done through content analysis by examining words and pictures in the textbooks. Data was classified into the same categories to answer the research objectives. Results: Only a small proportion of textbooks (0.17%) contain nutrition and health messages. The nutrition and health messages included the nutritional content of food, food labels, and physical activity such as how to do long jump. Informants did not get information on adolescent health and nutrition at school. In addition, there is currently no school policy regarding breakfast or healthy snacks in the school environment. Conclusion: Balanced nutrition messages had not been published in textbooks and delivered regularly in schools. Policy makers should review the school curriculum to include nutrition and health messages for adolescents in the textbooks used.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE: To review the controversies surrounding the use of nutritional interventions, particularly enteral support, in patients with acute pancreatitis. DATA SOURCES: Articles were obtained through a MEDLINE search (1966–June 1999). Additionally, several textbooks containing information on the diagnosis and management of acute pancreatitis were reviewed. The bibliographies of retrieved publications and textbooks were reviewed for additional references. STUDY SELECTION: All original investigations in humans pertaining to the use of enteral nutritional support in acute pancreatitis were reviewed for inclusion. Studies that investigated parenteral nutrition in acute pancreatitis were also reviewed, with preference given to controlled comparisons with enteral regimens or no nutritional support. DATA EXTRACTION: The primary outcomes extracted from the literature were time to oral feeding tolerance, complications (e.g., infection) associated with nutritional support, and length of stay. DATA SYNTHESIS: The duration of pancreatitis and time to oral feedings is similar whether patients receive enteral (i.e., jejunal tube feedings) or parenteral nutrition. Additionally, complications, length of stay, and costs are either similar or decreased with enteral versus parenteral nutrition. CONCLUSIONS: Current evidence suggests that the enteral rather than parenteral route should be used to provide nutrition to patients with acute pancreatitis. Parenteral nutrition should be reserved for patients in whom nasojejunal feeding is not possible.

Abstract:
With the aim of seeking relevant educational measures, this study analyzed contents on sustainable development found in the food and nutrition units of practical arts textbooks. For this purpose, nine goals and 25 detailed targets associated with the food and nutrition units were drawn from the Korean-Sustainable Development Goals (K-SDGs), then set as analysis criteria. Accordingly, the education contents were analyzed by both the academic year and food and nutrition unit. The results were as follows. First, in all textbooks, the fifth-grade unit “Balanced Dietary Life” was highly related to “3. Ensuring a healthy and happy life” in “People” and “12. Sustainable Production and Consumption” in “prosperity.” However, only some textbooks offered contents related to water pollution in “Environment” and how air pollution could be reduced by using local agricultural products when choosing and cooking snacks. Second, in all textbooks, the fifth-grade unit “Characteristics of Food Ingredients and Taste of Food” was highly related to “3. Ensuring a healthy and happy life” in “People,” “11. Development of Sustainable Cities and Residential Areas” in “People,” and “7. Eco-friendly Production and Consumption of Energy” in “Environment.” However, insufficient contents discussed how seasonal foods and local agricultural products were helpful for preserving the land ecosystem by reducing environmental pollution during production and transportation. Third, in all textbooks, the sixth-grade unit “Selection and Cooking of Safe Foods” was highly related to “3. Ensuring a healthy and happy life” in “People,” “11. Development of Sustainable Cities and Residential Areas” in “People,” and “12. Sustainable Production and Consumption” in “prosperity.” However, only some textbooks offered contents on jobs and advanced technologies related to dietary life in “Prosperity” and water pollution/land ecosystem preservation in “Environment.”

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Background: Age related changes in oral structures and nutritional deficiencies cause difficulties in wearing complete dentures amongst elderly adults Objective: To identify the impact of edentulism on nutritional status of eldrly adults. Methodology: To conduct the present study, information of existing literature are collected from textbooks, printed journals, and electronic databases such as pubmed, scopus, and science direct. Result: Prevalence of malnutrition rises with an increase in age. Edentulous subjects more likely to report trouble in chewing their food as compared to dentulous subjects. Edentulous subjects had significantly lower intake of calories, protein, carbohydrate, fibres, vitamins A, C,B1, and B6 . Intake of calcium and protein was lower in women with dentures than in dentate women. Compromised oral functional status was associated with lower serum albumin levels and lower BMI in functionally dependent elderly people. Conclusion: There is good quality evidence that edentulism is associated with poor diet and compromised nutrition.Although the majority of the studies cited here have not established a cause and effect relationship, results from Sheiham and others. However, more longitudinal studies on this topic are required to further understand the potential role of nutrition in the prevention of age related changes and reduce the failure of complete denture treatment in elderly adults. Abstract:
The present article aimed to compile information on the nutritional management for geriatric people. Popular textbooks of Persian medicine from 10th to 18th century were studied to derive relative viewpoints and considerations. The temperament, which is defined as the combination of 4 main elements (fire, air, water, and soil) and 4 humors made subsequently (black bile, yellow bile, phlegm, and blood), changes during age periods. Imbalance in proportional amounts of humors in elderly should be corrected with food and medicaments having opposite nature to the current condition. Traditional foods included mostly well-cooked soups, pottages, and porridges containing fresh sheep or chicken meat. Mono-ingredient foods were also administered according to their medical properties. Nutritional recommendations were also concerned with geriatrics’ physiological conditions such as constipation, sleep disorders, and memory deficits. Many of traditional geriatric nutritional requirements are relevant in the present day. However, there are still notes that may be beneficial for consideration.

Abstract:
Nutrition education and physical education in schools is increasingly being explored as a way to prevent childhood overweight and to promote healthy eating and physical activity habits behaviors. Classroom teachers are often responsible for providing this education. The current study examined the roles and perspectives of elementary school teachers regarding student nutrition, nutrition education, and physical education. Data is from a 2001-2002 study of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Nutrition Network. Analyses were based on 78 structured interviews with elementary school teachers. Results showed that teachers perceive their role in nutrition education as teachers, role models, advocates, and motivators. Teachers integrate nutrition education into existing subject areas, and believe that nutrition education results in greater knowledge and healthier food choices. However, teachers report that too little time is spent on nutrition education. Results of this study also indicate that classroom teachers are often responsible for physical education (PE). Teachers believe PE has a positive effect on the school community and on student fitness, but the effect is limited due to lack of structure and lack of time in PE class. Teachers report barriers to both nutrition education and physical education, including other classes taking up too much time, limited teacher training, and a lack of adequate equipment and facilities. Findings suggest that more resources including teacher training, time, curricula and textbooks, and equipment need to be allocated for nutrition education and physical education at the elementary school level.

Abstract:
Introduction: Due to the rapid modernization in the present era, sedentary life-style and abundance of nutrition, non-communicable diseases have been increased tremendously and now becoming the chief cause of the death all over the world. Obesity is one of the nutritional lifestyle disorder affecting both developed and developing countries. Obesity (Sthaulya) is vastly increasing in the world due to the change in the life style (Ahar, Vihar and Manasika) and working conditions. Obesity is a disorder characterized by increased body weight and excess fat deposition. It is the root cause of overconsumption of calories and reduced physical activity and finally leading to serious health complications like Diabetes, Cardiovascular disease and Arthritis. It also reduces the average life span and decreases the quality of life. In Ayurveda, Sthaulya (obesity) is a condition where, due to aggravation of Doshas, there is improper transformation of nutrition, more of Medodhatu is formed and inappropriate nutrition goes to nourish other Dhatus of body. Aim: To explore the impact of Ayurvedic approaches on obesity. Objectives: To find out the causative factors behind the prevalence of obesity and also to find out the cheap, easily available Ayurvedic modality to treat and prevent the Obesity. Materials and Methods: Various literatures like Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, Astanga Hridaya, modern medical textbooks, journals and online databases are reviewed. Conclusion: Embracing a balanced life-style, staying physically active and managing emotional stress are key factors in effectively addressing and preventing obesity.

Abstract:
AbstractFermented beverages hold a long tradition and contribution to the nutrition of many societies and cultures worldwide. Traditional fermentation has been empirically developed in ancient times as a process of raw food preservation and at the same time production of new foods with different sensorial characteristics, such as texture, flavour and aroma, as well as nutritional value. Low-alcoholic fermented beverages (LAFB) and non-alcoholic fermented beverages (NAFB) represent a subgroup of fermented beverages that have received rather little attention by consumers and scientists alike, especially with regard to their types and traditional uses in European societies. A literature review was undertaken and research articles, review papers and textbooks were searched in order to retrieve data regarding the dietary role, nutrient composition, health benefits and other relevant aspects of diverse ethnic LAFB and NAFB consumed by European populations. A variety of traditional LAFB and NAFB consumed in European regions, such askefir, kvass, kombuchaandhardaliye, are presented. Milk-based LAFB and NAFB are also available on the market, often characterised as ‘functional’ foods on the basis of their probiotic culture content. Future research should focus on elucidating the dietary role and nutritional value of traditional and ‘functional’ LAFB and NAFB, their potential health benefits and consumption trends in European countries. Such data will allow for LAFB and NAFB to be included in national food composition tables.

The purpose of this study is to propose a method for presenting self-evaluation of Korean textbooks in the future by identifying the types and characteristics of self-evaluation contained in Korean textbooks. As a result of analyzing the type of self-evaluation of Korean textbooks selected for research, it was found that scale-type self-evaluation was used in all textbooks except for three types, and the textbooks using scale-type self-evaluation were analyzed to actively utilize the checklist. Based on the analysis results, it was suggested as a method for presenting self-evaluation of Korean textbooks to present an evaluation type suitable for the level of proficiency, to clearly present the learning goal, and to present specific self-evaluation items accordingly. The necessity of learner training for self-evaluation was also argued to promote self-evaluation in the field of Korean language education.

Abstract:
This study analyzed differences in Korean middle school students’ scientific interpretation of the energy pyramid diagram, which is a central concept of ecosystem learning, based on whether or not arrows were presented in the chart. Two classes that did not show statistically significant differences in school science academic achievement were selected. One class was shown the energy pyramid diagram with arrows, and the other without. A quasi-experimental design was adopted for quantitative research. The study found that the group interpreting the energy pyramid with arrows had a statistically significant scientific interpretation than the group interpreting the energy pyramid without arrows. In other words, arrows aided understanding of the concepts of size, biomass, and energy transfer of biological elements in the energy pyramid. In addition, the arrows aided understanding of the meaning of each piece of a pie chart, as the amount of biomass or energy being transferred to the next level of nutrition as pieces of a pie chart. Thus, it was concluded that the arrows in the energy pyramid were efficient visual elements in conveying the flow of matter and energy between living creatures. Based on the results, this study recommends that science textbooks should use arrows for more efficient understanding of scientific phenomena throughout textbooks beyond only the “ecosystem” topic.

Abstract:
College courses are often offered from various disciplines, and depending on which department offers the class, the course could be taught by faculty with different educational preparation or training. This could result in significant differences in the approach and content of the course (i.e., theoretical or applied) or a difference in the instructors’ perceived importance and, therefore, the depth and time spent on various topics. We evaluated potential differences in the sports nutrition curriculum because it is a course that is usually taught by either nutritionists or exercise physiologists. A cross-sectional survey was sent to sports nutrition instructors at accredited large U.S. institutions. Descriptive statistics were analyzed via an ANOVA and Χ2 using Crosstabs in Qualtrics. Alpha was set at p < 0.001. Additionally, short interviews with some participants were recorded and transcribed verbatim. The findings of this study indicated that regardless of the instructor’s educational preparation and discipline, the majority of sports nutrition topics received similar time and depth and were rated as similarly important (p > 0.001). Out of 10 current textbooks, the majority of instructors preferred only 1 of 4 of them. From the short interviews, instructors reported that their courses were more applied than theoretical or balanced between the two. Most instructors designed their courses with a focus on achieving applied outcomes.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT It is widely accepted that the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle is a critical partner for gluconeogenesis (GNG) in hepatocytes. Although researchers in the 1950s showed, using radiolabeled long-chain fatty acids, that acetate derived from fatty acid β-oxidation contributes carbon to glucose, fatty acids are not included on lists of gluconeogenic precursors in many textbooks of biochemistry and nutritional biochemistry. Here, by following the flow of carbon atoms through the mitochondrial TCA cycle and into cytosolic GNG, it is shown that carbons in acetyl-CoA derived from fatty acid β-oxidation will be found in glucose. Specifically, it is evident that, after the condensation of acetyl-CoA and oxaloacetate (OAA) to make citrate at the start of the TCA cycle, the 2 carbons lost from the cycle as carbon dioxide come from OAA, not acetyl-CoA. Carbons from acetyl-CoA are retained as the cycle progresses toward malate, and when malate exits the mitochondrion for GNG, carbons that originated in acetyl-CoA and OAA are found to contribute equally to glucose. With influx of other critical precursors into the TCA cycle and efflux of malate into the cytosol for GNG, the TCA cycle is in balance. During fasting-induced GNG, there is a net gain of glucose in glucogenic cells; however, the fact that there is no net gain in the TCA cycle is irrelevant as far as precursors are concerned. Given the physiological importance of fat as a source of reserve energy, and knowing that some cell types rely on glucose as their primary supplier of energy, a role for fatty acids in glucose production aligns both with intuition and with evidence provided by a careful look at the biochemistry and older isotope studies. Hopefully, subsequent editions of textbooks will list fatty acids among the gluconeogenic precursors.

Abstract:
Evidence has shown unambiguously that, in certain contexts, vitamin C is effective against the common cold. However, in mainstream medicine, the views on vitamin C and infections have been determined by eminence-based medicine rather than evidence-based medicine. The rejection of the demonstrated benefits of vitamin C is largely explained by three papers published in 1975—two published in JAMA and one in the American Journal of Medicine—all of which have been standard citations in textbooks of medicine and nutrition and in nutritional recommendations. Two of the papers were authored by Thomas Chalmers, an influential expert in clinical trials, and the third was authored by Paul Meier, a famous medical statistician. In this paper, we summarize several flaws in the three papers. In addition, we describe problems with two recent randomized trial reports published in JAMA which were presented in a way that misled readers. We also discuss shortcomings in three recent JAMA editorials on vitamin C. While most of our examples are from JAMA, it is not the only journal with apparent bias against vitamin C, but it illustrates the general views in mainstream medicine. We also consider potential explanations for the widespread bias against vitamin C.

Abstract:
The indicators for health risk factors among school children in Lebanon associated with increased mortality and morbidity were higher than the global percentage based on WHO (2014) statistics. Knowing that the Ministry of Education in Lebanon has been trying to include health education in the national school curriculum since the last reform in 1997, this qualitative exploratory study analyzed the students’ arguments resulting from focus group discussions to identify their level of knowledge, attitudes and perceptions and to provide suggestions for improving the national textbooks and teaching practices. Data were collected through focus group discussions with grade 5 students in 2 schools: Lebanese public school and UNRWA Palestinian School. The content analysis technique was used to perform the analysis and interpretation of data. Data was coded based on criteria from the Rational Model as well as the Health Belief Model. The study found, among other things, that students in both schools acquired the knowledge present in the textbooks about the benefits of balanced nutrition but they gave inaccurate and incomplete justifications with no scientific reasoning. Regarding attitudes, they show negative attitudes toward prefer unhealthy food over healthy ones. Some of their practices were healthy but unhealthy snacks, skipping breakfast, drinking big amounts of soft drinks were prevalent. The arguments of the students in both schools also showed some social related practices as related to the opinions, behavior, advice, and support of the people surrounding students influence their feelings and behavior, and the students have a reciprocal effect on those people.

Abstract:
This article summarizes the life and work of Irving Fisher – one of the most influential economists of the 20th century, famous in his lifetime for being a genius. Besides his groundbreaking contributions to economics, he is also a pathbreaker for topics related to mathematics, statistics, nutrition, health, political stability and peace. His contributions to economics, theoretical and applied, are still used in economics textbooks. This article provides a brief survey of Fisher’s work. It is closely related to the introduction of neoclassical theory in the US at the end of the 19th century. An overview of some of them and elaborate on his model of intertemporal choice are presented. This model is an important link between the general equilibrium theory, the theory of money, the theory of investment and the theory of consumption. The main reasons are being put forward for the Fisher’s work to sound contemporary in the new millennium.

Abstract:
Most students learn in different ways and have different strengths and challenges. Turkish students suffer from some kinds of difficulty in learning chemistry taught in English, whether in school or university. The language of instruction can affect aspects of a student’s ability to learn. In this study, the difficulties that Turkish students face in studying chemistry in English are evaluated through a survey of students’ opinions at the Department of Nutrition in the University of Gelisim. The results showed that a 52.6% of students suffer from learning difficulties in the English language, which was reflected in their participation in discussions during the lecture, so a large percentage of them (48.6%) resorted to taking notes during the lecture in Turkish and a large proportion of them (45.6%) also believed that the situation would be better if English terms were used alongside Turkish in textbooks. The study claims there is a possibilityof improving students’ level in the English language thus improving students’ abilities to comprehend chemistry through the applicability of various teaching methods. The study draws heavily on both the Communicative and Natural Approach to deal with communication difficulties in chemistry classes.

Abstract:
Nestor Maksimovich Maksimovich-Ambodik is considered one of the founders of obstetrics, it was he who came up with the idea of using obstetric forceps. Maksimovich-Ambodik was the first to prepare and publish the well-known treatise "The Art of Midwifery, or the Science of Women's Business". More than one generation of students studied according to his textbooks. It is noteworthy that he was the first to start teaching at a medical university in Russian; before that, all lectures were given in Latin. However, few people know that this scientist was also seriously involved in the issues of herbal medicine. In 1784, the scientist published the book "Encyclopedia of Nutrition and Healing, compiled by the personal physician of Her Imperial Majesty Catherine II in 1784, professor N. Ambodik", which is the richest collection of descriptions of medicinal plants. In his medical practice, this scientist and doctor gave preference to medicinal herbs, believing that the more complete the unity of an individual with nature is, the faster s/he will be able to achieve harmony and defeat the disease. Thus, Nestor Maksimovich-Ambodik can rightfully be considered the founder of not only obstetrics, but also herbal medicine.

Abstract:
Breast milk is considered the best form of nutrition for neonates and infants. The properties of breast milk facilitate the transition of life from in utero to ex utero. Breast milk provides a variety of bioactive substances for the developing baby during the early period of brain, immune and gut development. Katuk leaves (Sauropus androgni) are found very abundantly in Indonesia. People use S. androgyny as a traditional herbal medicine and are believed to have it to increase breast milk production. There are many publications that show the effect of lactagogum (an agent to increase milk production) of this plant. In several studies conducted there is evidence that the role of phytosterols and papaverine are two components that can increase the hormones prolactin and oxytocin. Scientific sources were obtained from Google Scholar and Pubmed in the form of textbooks and scientific journals totaling 24 units. Giving the extract resulted in a smoother circulation of the oxytocin hormone. The purpose of this literature review is to discuss the effect of S. androgynus which is believed to have a beneficial effect on breast milk production in and can be an agent of breast milk production in future research subjects.

Abstract:
Breast milk (ASI) is the best and most perfect source of nutrition for babies, especially premature babies. ASI contains complete nutrients for optimal growth and development in terms of mental and physical aspects of the baby, especially in the first six months of life. The features and advantages of mother's milk not only recognized in Islam have even been recognized by researchers from medical, science and lactation experts. The writing of this article aims to discuss the need for sharia compliant milk banks for premature babies. This study uses a qualitative approach using content analysis methods that focus on the textbooks, books, journals, articles and reports. The results of the discussion found that mother's milk contained many of the benefits needed by premature babies. When compared with formula milk, the nutritional content of breast milk is much better. There are several reasons why breastfeeding is now the main requirement in Malaysia, one of them is for premature babies. With this, the government seeks to meet ASI's needs by establishing a shariah compliant milk bank for mothers with breastfeeding problems. The results of the discussion found that Islam not only acknowledged the efficacy of ASI, it also emphasized the problem of maternal and adolescent mahram relationships. Therefore, the established milk bank must be in accordance with the guidelines set by the jurisprudence and the schools of Imam Shafi'i. In addition to needs, milk banks also provide benefits for Muslims by seeing an increase in premature baby birth statistics in Malaysia. It is in this condition of the emergency phase that a compliant sharia milk bank needs to be established. The milk bank that will be established can avoid the occurrence of problems overlapping the mahram according to the principle of Maqasid al-Shari'ah in the maintenance of implantable mahram purity.

Abstract:
Dancers have unique health issues, including high injury rates and functional, nutritional, and psychological concerns. Thererfore, developing dancers with high health literacy is crucial. This study examines 1. the types of health-related information offered in university dance programs, and 2. the perceptions of dance stakeholders (administrators, faculty, and students) toward health-related education provided to dancers in these programs. Participating stakeholders (N = 104) from 11 countries completed a web-based survey examining health-related offerings for dance students at their instituitions. Eighty-four participants (81%) indicated that health-related information was delivered at their instituition. The most commonly offered topics included functional dance anatomy (N = 82, 98%), recognizing dance injuries and illnesses (N = 66, 79%), and strength and conditioning for dancers (N = 61, 73%). Participants rated recognizing dance injuries and illnesses (N = 72, 69%), basic personal health (N = 70, 67%), and nutrition (N = 68, 65%) as the top three "extremely important" topics, even if these were not offered at their institution. Faculty and administrators reported similar attitudes toward topic importance as those reported by students. Fifty-five respondents (65%) reported textbooks were used to deliver health-related information, and content was also provided via journal articles (N = 58, 69%), organizational web sites (N = 39, 46%), and social media (N = 16, 19%). Reported barriers to providing adequate education included lack of dance faculty expertise to deliver course content (N = 7) and receiving care from practitioners lacking in knowledge of dance medicine (N = 5). Participants generally agreed that making health-related information available was important, and 81% of respondants indicated that it was formally offered at their institution. Variability was noted regarding topics rated "highly important," as compared to which topics were already provided. These findings offer insight into the current status of health-related education provided to dance students and can be used to improve curricula in university dance programs.

Abstract:
According to the five-kingdom system, all unicellular eukaryotes are classified under the kingdom Protista, and multicellular eukaryotes contain only Animals, Plants, and Fungi. This classification is generally not accepted by zoologists. Many zoological textbooks still classify Animals into two large groups: Protozoa and Metazoa. However, the criterion for selecting Protozoa is the specific digestive system of heterotrophic nutrition for animals, thus, the range of Protozoa is often wide, includes many different, far related groups in unicellular eukaryotes. The entire eukaryotic phylogenetic tree (both unicellular and multicellular) built on molecular sequence comparisons of recent genetics indicates that only a few single-celled eukaryotic groups have phylogenetic relationship with the ancestor of multicellular eukaryotes in the animal kingdom. This situation forces a narrowing of the range of protozoan groups. According to principle (1) Kingdom taxa must include all groups of organisms that are monophyletic, i.e. have the same root in the phylogenetic tree of eukaryotes. This principle holds for all taxa above species. (2) Inheriting the traditional perception of considering Animals, Fungi and Plants (including unicellular and multicellular) as kingdom taxons. Protozoa includes 3 groups Choanoflagellata, Filasterea and Ichthyosporea. The article also updates the morphological, biological and taxonomic characteristics of these three groups.

Abstract:
Abstract Currently, there are no general reviews that focus on feed analysis and its development from early to modern use. An objective of this review was to create a brief chronology of people, discoveries, and activities that were part of the development of modern feed analysis. Peer-reviewed, extension, and trade literature were used as resources in this review. Conference and symposia proceedings were also referenced. Some textbooks and PhD dissertations were cited. Finally, historic agricultural and other scientific literature dating from 1725 to 1936 were all used as sources. In modern society, feed analysis is more widely used than ever before in history, and interest in and utilization of feed analysis steadily increases. The history of feed analysis is not a simple chronological construct, since feed analysis has developed in conjunction with advancements and discoveries in chemistry, nutrition, and agricultural sciences. Using different systems of analysis, the evaluation of feeds has been practiced for millennia. Feed analysis, its categories, systems, methods, and applications are topics of universal interest among extension, education, and agricultural professionals. This review of people, practices, and events leading to the development of feed analyses can be a useful resource for anyone who wants to convey unique information about feed analysis and its history.

Abstract:
No matter if they are in high school or college, Turkish students have particular challenges when trying to understand chemistry lectures delivered in English. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the difficulties Turkish students have when studying chemistry in English. A survey was administered to Turkish students at a Turkish University, nutrition and dietetics major in order to obtain relevant information. The results showed that 24.6% of students have difficulties learning chemistry in English, and 52.3% of the students are reluctant to give presentations in the chemistry class due to their lack of confidence in the English language. The results showed that the areas of weakness in the English language were conversational skills (78.5%), grammar (75.4%), vocabulary (75.4%), listening (72.2%), and reading (38.5%). Therefore, a considerable percentage of these students (48.6%) take their lecture notes in Turkish, and an overwhelming majority of them (46.2%) think that adding English terminology to textbooks alongside Turkish would help the problem. According to the research, it is possible to increase students' English skills and therefore their understanding of chemistry by employing various teaching strategies. To address communication hurdles in chemistry classes, the study heavily draws on both the Communicative and Natural Approaches.
