Abstract:
BACKGROUND: Nursing education is shifting from face-to-face to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Virtual simulation can be used to support online learning for nursing skills. AIM: This study aimed to describe Indonesian nursing students’ perspectives regarding the use of vSim for NursingTM. METHODS: This study used a mixed-methods approach by administering a set of electronic surveys to 50 3rd-year nursing students of the private institution in Tangerang, Indonesia, who participated in a vSim for NursingTM trial program in October 2020. The quantitative data were analyzed using SPSS Statistics version 27, and the qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis. RESULTS: The results showed that 14% of respondents strongly agree, and 54% agree that virtual simulations are easy to use. As many as 54% of respondents agreed, and 32% strongly agreed that the virtual simulation content was relevant to a nurse’s role, with most respondents (92%) supporting future use. Four categories emerged from the qualitative data, including (1) Learning to think critically, (2) A realistic and safe learning environment, (3) Effectively improving learning, and (4) English language, internet networks, and unfamiliarity as barriers. CONCLUSION: The findings support virtual simulation as a pedagogical approach, a clinical training method, and a learning supplement. This study is a starting point to develop a virtual simulation for nursing education in Indonesia.

Abstract:
Abstract Objective Baccalaureate degree curricula consist of several professional values required for nursing students, which are taught in many ways. This study aimed to explore the perception of baccalaureate Jordanian nursing students regarding professional values and to assess the relationship between students’ demographics and their perception of professional values. Methods The study design was a descriptive, cross-sectional correlational design. A convenience sample of 182 Jordanian undergraduate nursing students enrolled at one of the most prominent universities in Jordan who completed and submitted a self-administered Nurses’ Professional Values Scale (NPVS) was considered for this study. Results The NPVS total score ranged from 37 to 130, with a relatively high total score mean (99.68 with a mean of 3.83 out of 5). The highest score domain in NPVS was “Justice” with a mean of 3.97, while the lowest ranked domain was “Activism” with a mean of 3.69. The correlation coefficient showed no statistically significant correlation between age nor accumulative students’ average with a total score of Nurses Professional Values Scale-revised (NPVS-R) and its subdomains. The t test results showed that gender and type of students’ enrollment (regular vs. upgrading) did not affect the means of NPVS-R and its subdomains. But differences were found to be statistically significant between the means of first year students and fourth year students in the total score of NPVS-R. Conclusions Findings of the study alert nursing educators to pay more attention to the importance of promoting the values related to “activism” and “professionalism” among nursing students. Suggestions for enhancing the roles of peer supervision and providing peer review to colleagues would contribute to improving nursing students’ performance and raising self-awareness because when nursing educators pay more attention to the items of these domains, better future nursing professionals, leaders, and researchers can be gained. Also, understanding nursing students’ perceptions of the importance of professional values and the difficulties in its application would be vital to enlighten educators about the areas that need improvement.

Abstract:
Aimed to identify and discuss nursing diagnosis present in 50 Case Studies developed by students of graduation nursing of Federal University of Mato Grosso - Campus of Sinop, in a unit of clinical medical. Documentary research that addressed quantitatively the nursing diagnosis proposed using the Taxonomy II of NANDA-I (2009-2011). It was documented 82 different diagnosis, and covered all the 13 domains. The involvement of all the domains and the large variability of diagnoses identified suggested a possible holistic view of patient care and emphasized the individuality of the care plan. However, it may indicate an immaturity of these students, because often different diagnosis are related, and interventions set to one of these can solve the other, so opting for one avoids large health plans. Researchers and professors should conduct investigations and discussions to be identified teaching methods best suited to the teaching of the diagnostic process.

Abstract:
In national and social crises, high-quality nursing education in the undergraduate program is essential to improve the clinical nursing competency and problem-solving ability of nurses who are nursing mediators. The purpose of this study is to develop and apply an online nursing training simulation program for nursing students and test its effectiveness. The study used a quasi-experimental, single group and a pre and posttest design. The program improved the participants' clinical competency and problem-solving ability scores, and it was found that the online nursing training simulation program was an effective intervention for the clinical performance and problem-solving ability of nursing students. The online nursing training simulation program developed in this study enables repeated training while minimizing the burden on learners. In addition, it can be applied without time and space restrictions in a continuous infection situation such as COVID 19. In the future, based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop various online nursing practice contents. In addition it is suggested that long-term follow-up studies will be conducted to verify the persistence of effects through repeated measurements.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to identify nursing students' college life stress, family strengths and to identify factors that affect the quality of life of nursing students. Data were collected from 200 nursing students between April 20th to May 24th, 2018 from a college in A city. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, a one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression. All analyzes were conducted using IBM SPSS 22.0. The results of the multiple regression analysis showed that the regression model was significant (F=14.57, p<.001). The factors affecting the quality of life were family strengths (β=.36, p<.001), high satisfaction in university (β=.30, p=.002), college life stress (β=-.20, p=.002). This regression model was explained by 41% of variances in the quality of life of nursing students. To enhance the quality of life of nursing students it is necessary to analyze college life stress and to assess family strength to relieve stress. In addition, universities need to make efforts to improve overall nursing students' satisfaction with the university by investing and providing continuous support for education and facilities that meet the demands of students.
