Abstract:
The article discusses a strategy of development of the pre-sessional English course for foreign students of the Faculty of International education of National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” (NTU “KhPI”). Challenges for foreigners studying at Ukrainian HEIs in English are analyzed. The results of the language needs analysis of foreign applicants with insufficient language background as well as EMI teachers’ estimation of the corresponding aspects of the students’ knowledge are provided. The course syllabus was designed, and, based on the two-year experience of its implementation; conclusions on specific aspects of teaching English to foreigners in the Ukrainian environment are made.

Since 2011, at the Department of Industrial and Biomedical Electronics, NTU "KHPI" together with KNPE of KRC "RMCCUN n. a. V. I. Shapoval” with the participation of State Institute “Institute of Nephrology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” is carrying out research aimed at improving patient safety the hemodialysis (HD)or hemodiafiltration (HDF) procedure. Especially prepared water ensures the safety and quality of the HD or HDF procedure. For the carrying-out, one HD session is necessary more than 150 liters of permeate. Poor quality permeates causes various complications, even can lead to fatal consequences. Therefore a constantly guaranteed qualitative permeate is an important component of safe HD or HDF.

Abstract:
the article covers the peculiarities of quarantine in Ukraine and the realization of the educational process in the conditions caused by the pandemic. The qualities of interaction in the educational environment of NTU “KhPI” with the use of the Office 365 corporate platform between its participants are studied, and the functional model for Master’s students who plan to receive a diploma in Educational and Pedagogical Sciences is proposed. An experimental study was conducted to establish the level of participants’ readiness for interaction in the educational process, in particular, its leading component-communicative competence was analyzed. During the experiment, the Office 365 platform and other tools involved in its cloud environment were used. The experiment showed that the introduction of practical tools in the educational process of Master's level students enhances the level of their communicative competence, improving the quality of interaction in conditions of quarantine restrictions.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the concept of "pedagogical skill" and defines the components of pedagogical skills of the coach. The peculiarities of the formation of pedagogical skills of future trainers in NTU "KhPI" are revealed. The criteria have been developed and the level of formation among the students of the 1st and 4th courses has been determined. The influence of educational disciplines on the formation of components of the pedagogical skills of future coaches has been studied. The results of the study showed that the mastering of the theoretical material of the academic disciplines of the professional block of the curriculum of the specialty "Physical Culture and Sport" and the formation of practical skills of sports and professional development makes it possible to form a high level of pedagogical skills. According to the research, the introduction of technology significantly increased the indicators of the formation of components of pedagogical skill students experimental group. Students became more active, showed creativity in practical classes, performed self-analysis of their results.

Abstract:
The presented work is concerning with ductile fracture problematic under monotonic loading which is result of gradual material degradation at large plastic deformation. At present, a large number of models, which calibration is not trivial, are used for its prediction. Ductile fracture mechanisms and cut-off region are described in the literature search part. Next, there is given a summary of criteria which are based on different approaches to ductile fracture. There were proposed and used KHPS and KHPS2 criteria within this PhD thesis. Procedure of assessment of the stress-strain curve and ductile fracture criteria calibration are described in last part of the literature search. A summary of tests, which were done in order to calibrate chosen criteria, is given in experimental part. Various stress states within broad range of stress triaxiality and Lode parameter were reached using these tests. Special type of specimen, by which very low stress triaxiality value is reached, was designed within this work. All specimens were made from the steel 12 050. Wrought rods of one melt with circular cross-section of 27 mm in diameter were used as semi-product. Calibration of chosen ductile fracture criteria was performed using foregoing tests. These criteria were implemented by author into explicit finite element software ABAQUS/Explicit using user subroutine VUMAT. Chosen criteria were used for simulation of multistep extrusion at which formation of internal central cracks occurs. These criteria were also used for simulation of cutting of circular cross-section rods. Results from simulation were compared to experiments which were done by industrial partner J-VST.

Abstract:
The purpose of the chapter is to study the history of collaborative learning, its personal and social benefits for all participants, basic tools and to share the experiences in the area of project-based collaborative learning. Additional positive characteristics of intercultural interaction in the process of collaborative learning are also described in the chapter. As a successful example of project-based intercultural collaborative learning, the authors analyze the learning outcomes of an interdisciplinary educational project being run at NTU KhPI and the University of Maribor. The obtained results show that dealing with a set of common tasks Ukrainian and Slovenian undergraduate students have wider opportunities to use various forms of interaction during the learning process.
