Full textThe objective in this thesis was to study how the new religious discourse produced by the preachers in the religious satellite channels can give rise to the expression of a new form of mobilization. This study was carried out in the context of the Arab revolutions, and more specifically in Egypt, with some aspects of comparison with Algeria. The three axes on which we have articulated this research are the policy, the communication and the return of the actor as identified by A. Touraine.Taking as an example the speech of Amr Khaled, one of the most influential preachers of the Arab-Muslim world, we analyzed the product discourse and receptions made directly by the Egyptian public and more broadly by a wider audience , Via social networks

Full textThis thesis focuses on new digital production practices and the sharing of information online, through current issues related to digital social media. While having as a subject of study the online video hosting platform YouTube, the general objective of this research is to understand how the configuration of digital interfaces online carries this remediation of the amateur social and political discourse, more specifically, how YouTube as a media allows the content management of many politicized contents, in addition to or in competition with traditional news channels. Methodologically, the analysis focuses on the discursive and social practices of Youtube's actors, through the prism of discourse and visual semiotics. The discourse analysis is multiple as the research project tries to define the discourse within the Youtube discussion space, and alongside, the discourse of the content producer, the YouTuber. Indeed, for André Gunthert, the discussion space is a dynamic and evolutionary space, since it depends on the evolution of the content of the video and/or the image. Finally, a third analysis, that of the typology of the participants interviewed during « comprehensive interviews », highlights how audiovisual grammar largely dominates the «sacral» one of writing on social media. All these elements contribute to the definition of the YouTube culture and provide a new perspective on social media in the field of communication studies

Beyond their discrepancfies the two systems share the same impulse : public initiative. In the course of this work throughout these examples we try to find out a process of formation of a new medim based on public initiative. When we cannot find one out we track in fact much better their strategie stake : their main aim is in reality to enable the trust public service to carry out an internal transformation which is indispensable to its good work with respect to the future scene of telecommunication

Full textHow to rediscover the spirit of a guenuine audiovisual creation, « occasionally » free from the constraints of the market and from the developments of a standardized technology ? How to proceed so that emotions felt by an audience might not only result in psycho-physiological consequences generated by technological systems, but become a true phenomenon of individual perception ? How to proceed, in the end, to find new and prospective forms of expression that would fit their time ? In order to answer such questions, the author of this thesis analyses the present situation of the audiovisual world. A historical survey of several panoramic, hemispheric and spherical systems, allows him to reveal aesthetic, semantic, semiotic peculiarities that he approaches depending on the specific technical characteristics of such various media. From shadow play to virtual reality via photography, painting, and cinema, the author ends his « initiatory trip » and analysis by proposing to build a sphere to give birth to news forms of audiovisual representation and narrative modes likely to undergo further developments

Full textOur research aims to examine an information system through television newscasts in the context of Congo's new information ecosystem linked to the eruption of cross-border media and social media. This study was clearly long-term, addressing the study of television from the 1990s to the year 2018, and was devoted to the socio-historical analysis of television, the specific examination of television news programs, appropriation of information in Congolese context. Refusing to lock ourselves into the examination of a closed communication space, we have broadened our research by putting the concept of public space into perspective. At the end of this journey, it appeared that the media organizations Tele-Congo and DRTV remain under state supervision following the socio-historical heritage of television in the Congo. As a result, there is a national television mediation shared between the game of the institutional (Télé-Congo) and the game of proximity (DRTV) in the construction of JT This double national TV mediation is justified by the embryonic nature of the cultural industries and communication in the country. In the same way, it was revealed through these results, a negotiated appropriation of the contents of the J.T. and the information in Congolese context, testifying to the mutations of the construction of the social link and the fragmentation of the public sphere. Finally, this study allowed us to highlight the deployment of a fragmented public sphere in a Congolese context between a political public sphere in Tele-Congo, a societal public sphere in DRTV and an ”alternative” societal public sphere on cross-border televisions and socio-digital media. This research paves the way for other avenues of research that will be part of the broadening of the types of programs, the number of transmitters, other types of media, the various corpora in terms of number of programs, surveyed persons and localities covered by the survey

Be it thanks to the narratives on which they are based, the images users interact with, or gameplay and game structure specificities, some video games are inspired by real events as much as they (re)build those through the play experiences that they propose. In order to better understand this dynamic, this dissertation proposes a method of analysis that takes into account the three key components that constitute video games (narrative, audiovisual, game and play). This method is then applied to the three Call of Duty: Modern Warfare games (2007-2011). Full textThe arrival of Internet in the daily life of people in industrialised countries like Canada and France has affected organizations' external communication strategies. More recently, the emergence of social media brought forward by Web 2.0 is transforming how people and organizations are communicating. Tourism destinations and more specifically destination management organizations that manage and promote them are affected by these changes. The objective of this thesis is to answer the initial research question: How are destination management organizations adapting to this new communication environment? In this thesis, the external and promotional communication of destination management organizations is studied through the prism of communication models and theories. The subject has been observed in its context where traditional media is challenged by new tools available with new communication and information technology. The case of Tourisme Montréal, a non-profit private organization counting some 750 members (hotels, restaurants, attractions, etc. ) was analysed and the observations participate in the verification of the initial questioning. The work is divided into two major parts. The first part establishes the reference basis for the construction of the thesis. The second part is dedicated to the study of our chosen case, Tourisme Montréal. It compares theory knowledge to the reality of destination management organizations. The methodology used in our research includes data collection from different sources including interviews, observation and the analysis of various types of documents

Full textThis thesis is focused on the analysis of a topic that is still a “work in progress” in Sociology: social media. Although this tautological expression may be amazing at first sight, it appears that no academic definition of social media has been proposed to date. This gap in academic research illustrates that this topic is both recent and complex. Therefore, our research aims to conduct a contextual analysis of the emergence of a new media. This research is based on an empirical approach through the study of uses, practices and representations of social media users. As social media are characterized by the interactionist dimension, our research will target active users. From these connected and networked people to active audiences, our analysis will focus on new ways related to involvement. Our research will contribute to the sociological understanding of a social, cultural and media topic that represents social media as well as the set up of social movements supported by social media

Full textThis research investigates new curatorial strategies for exhibiting digital artworks in physical exhibition spaces, with the term “digital art” referring to artistic projects that make creative and critical use of technologies such as algorithmic programming, virtual or augmented reality, robotics, the use of data, and new forms of image creation and distribution. In a world where digital tools are a structuring condition of life in society and of all cultural production (Stalder 2016), digital art represents a powerful means of understanding our present time and our future (Ertan 2016). It can offer alternative approaches and narratives to the dominant uses of technology, highly influenced by globalized capitalism. The art institution can also be a unique place to reflect on the predominant influence of technological devices on our lives and thought processes. Despite the fact that these digital works now occupy an important place in the contemporary art world and can claim a certain historicity (Paul 2016), there is little research into the new exhibition modalities experimented with these works and the way in which digital art prompts us to rethink the exhibitions (Dekker 2021). The upheavals wrought by digital technology are transforming the way works are produced and exhibited. New curatorial strategies have been experimented with, and existing modalities adapted to these different forms of artistic practice. By illustrating how these exhibitions both diverge from and simultaneously build upon existing exhibition theory and practice, this thesis aims to intricately examine how artworks utilizing digital technologies are transforming the ways in which we think about and build exhibitions. What new curatorial strategies have emerged based on the interactivity, variability, and technical materiality of the works? How are the links between artist, exhibition space, work, and viewer articulated in these new exhibition paradigms? How do artworks evolve over time, and how do they adapt to different exhibition spaces?Annet Dekker, Curating Digital Art: From Presenting and Collecting Digital Art to Networked Co-curation, Amsterdam, Valiz, 2021. Full textMan's relationship with his environment seems to evolve following a pattern similar to that of the discoveries of science and technology, which bring about new ways to interact with the world. Now in the age of biotechnology and nanotechnology, of digital networks and new audiovisual media, our capacity to act in the world mutates accordingly. In their practice of new media in order to produce their works, many artists question the complexity of the ecological and technological systems that surround us. When they seem to criticize these technologies or try to create new systemic models, is it not often their way of encouraging us to claim ownership of our very habitats? This dissertation studies the ways in which ecology may be revisited through the use of new media and technologies in contemporary artistic works. Our hypothesis is that a study of the relation between art, the environment(s) where it is displayed and the new media it uses may help us rethink the way we inhabit the world. Tentatively, we suggest the word « ecopoiesis » to qualify the creative processes in which ecology is at stake. The goal is to come up with a notion of the complex and systemic relations that the artists, the works of art and the audience have with their environment

Full textThis research is a meditation between digital art and perception of real-life, which hopes to offer a comprehensive look on these issues. Technology developments, such as the fire of Prometheus, not only bring the lights and changes in nature’s way into our daily life, but also the Principles and criteria of art. In addition, the new media bring us into unimaginable and hyper-sensations world. Science and technology are deployed and infiltrated in all area, the development of man-machine interaction flooded with digital devices and media every day, and make us rely on virtual worlds unconsciously. This research explores the interactions between digital art, digital art creation and exhibition environments. Two case studies are made here is related to: The Taipei Digital Art Festival and Mons 2015, and highlight a report art-science-society as problematic definition. From sociological point of view, digital art represents a microcosm of the virtual society and a macrocosm of the real world, by creating an invisible virtual community.Technological science embodies the human spirit and the space-time, because the relationship between man and technology marks contemporary society, where the scientist and the artist can create imaginary worlds while crossing dichotomous oppositions between reality and virtuality. This work allows us to explore the intersection between the viewer and the work, between intelligible and sensible worlds, real and virtual, visible and invisible

Full textFrom artificial heart to bandage through implants, corrective lenses, wheelchairs or radiology devices, the concept of medical device covers a wide range of products having in common their medical purpose and their action which is not obtained by pharmacological, immunological or metabolic means. Medical devices were regulated in the 1990s by directives based on the principles of the new approach (definition of essential requirements and reference to technical harmonization, important role for professional actors and limited role for public authorities, evaluation of the conformity of products by notified bodies and absence of marketing authorization). Despite the advantages of their flexibility, these directives have only partially succeeded in guaranteeing the safety of medical devices, as underlined in the circumstances of PIP implants scandal: limited clinical evaluation, information and traceability of products, limited control by and on notified bodies, lack of coordination between authorities, etc. To strengthen the safety of European medical devices, rather than transposing the legal framework of medicinal products or American medical devices, a custom-made legal framework, adapted to their varying level of risk, is to be considered. This is what the upcoming regulations put forward

Full textAfter the Irpinia earthquake of November 23rd, 1980, a revival of the Marian devotion was discovered in several localities of Campania. Our work aims to establish the link between the natural disaster and the Marian appearances in two localities of Campania: Casavatore and Oliveto Citra. If those two "acts of God" did not lead to a lasting recognition and thus, to perennial pilgrimages, the same cannot be said with respect to the cult dedicated to Pio of Pietrelcina (1887-1968) that has given rise to a continuously growing devotional enthusiasm in San Giovanni Rotondo. Our work means to demonstrate, through other examples of Marian devotion such as the cult of Our Lady of the Rosary?created at the end of the XIX century by Bartolo Longo at the heart of Nueva Pompeya?that traditional forms of media, associated with technological inventions, are the instruments guaranteeing the continuity of a cult

This study focuses on the french « media chronology », and its future against technological developments in the audiovisual and cinematographic industry. The « media chronology » system is a mecanism part of the cultural exception. It is a rule that sets time differences between the release of a film in theaters and its distribution on other media : videograms such as DVDs and Blu-rays, transactional video on demand (« VàDA »), television or subscription video on demand (« SVOD »). It is a real pillar in the financing of the French film production, but the emergence of new digital players such as SVOD plateforms unbalance it. It is therefore necessary to rethink the model while drawing inspiration from foreign models such as the Canadian media chronology, in order to take better account of these developments.

Full textWe will try all along this thesis to lift the veil on the vague aspects of a complex industry: medias, in a country with an even more complex political and economic environment: China. After defining de concept of media convergence, we will see what are its different forms in the Middle Kingdom in comparison with Western countries. We will explain the reasons why China is naturally taking its own path and not necessarily following the Western models, especially in the media industry. We will then show how the convergence influences one industry in particular: the film industry; how all the links of the value chain from investment to production and distribution are affected by the constant evolution of the new media technologies and how they merge with each other. By reviewing the different laws and other instructions that are supposed to rule the film media industry, but also by analyzing the complex flows between China and the rest of the world that the government tries to control, we will show how much is at stake in this huge market. We will present the main actors of this convergence in China comparing them particularly with the American giant Netflix. How these internet giants transform today’s film industry? This is the question we will try to answer all along this research

Full textDuring the 20th century, the relationship between Media and Sport were very fertile. The revenues generated by the sale of broadcast rights, the Communication and the Media have a great influence over the global success of football. Media and sports organizations have a relationship based on tensions and cooperation and also very fluid boundaries between them. In this present work, we want to understand how media influence sports organizations, more precisely, how football clubs become a space of content and information production. Recently, sports organizations have invested on media and communication departments, either by hiring public relations and media professionals or by creating their own corporate means of communication. We have selected as research objects, the media of three sports organizations: the WebTV of Paris Saint-Germain (France), the website of Botafogo (Brazil) and the subscription TV channel of Benfica (Portugal). Our empirical work was based on ethnographic interviews with the media and communication staff at these football clubs. Based on our interviews, we aim to answer three questions about the creation of these club owned media: why they were created; how they are structured; and who is responsible for their implementation. The choice of these three clubs allowed a comparative study and the analysis of different markets and realities with diverse levels of modernization, that together with each local social context made possible an attempt to offer a generalization about club owned media and the consequences for sports journalism and the relationship between sport and media

We define it as " a support of digital communication diffusing on screens implanted in public or commercial places, multimedia contents with informative, advertising or entertaining vocation ". This research pursues three objectives: encircle the various aspects of the Digital Signage, define it as a real media and to identify the perceptions, the attitudes, the expectations and the trust of the customers towards this mode of communication. The combination of a qualitative study with 25experts (providers and users) and of a study of secondary sources allowed to demonstrate the strength of this media on the criteria of affinity and management and to identify six modes of insertion of this tool in a multi-channel communication. A descriptive exploratory study with 400 customers shows that more than 70 % of the customers is favorable to the presence of the DS. At the level of the perception, the customers attribute award it the following features: tool of information about products and services, tool of entertainment in the point of sale, incentive(incitement) in the sale and decision-making support. At the level of the potential reactions, the DS draws the attention of the customer, decreases the wait perception, acts on the search for information about products and services and impacts on the emotional reactions. At the level of the trust assigned to the diverse information sources about products and services, it was shown that the customers grant more trust) to the DS than to five big media

Full textThe filter aids, especially the diatomites, are widely used during winemaking in precoat filtration process because they delay the fouling. These particles cannot be effectively regenerate. According to the European directive, since July 2002, the disposal of the spent diatomites used in precoat filtration is prohibited because they are not final wastes. The aim of the study is to propose regenerable filter aids having a high environmental acceptability and being compatible with wine. The new filtering particles must be inert regarding wine and available in different sizes for the various applications in wine production. Several particles have been tested in deep or precoat filtration. Some particles seem to be really effective as filter aids (celluloses, rilsan, etc. . . ) and are able to be cleaned or up-graded. Sand filter is very effective too, especially when the filter bed depth is equal to 1 meter. EPS beads could be used for wine clarification. Moreover, these filtering particles are backwashable and they don't affect the wine quality

Full textThe confinement of antibiotics in inorganic matrices results in a class of materials particularly suitable for the conservation of their activities. This thesis aims to: (1) establish a correlation between the localization of antibiotics in HDL matrices and their antibacterial activity, (2) define the most appropriate matrix to prevent the antibiotics thermal and / or photon degradation. We were interested in studying the influence of the antibiotic localization in the material and the effect on the material antibacterial activity and whether the HDL phase can protect the antibiotics from thermal and / or photon degradation. In this work, we used double lamellar hydroxide (HDL) type Zn2Al, Mg2Al, Ni2Al and Mn2Al as supports for different types of antibiotics (cyclin, polypeptide and enzymatic). We investigated the immobilization of two cyclin types tetracycline (TCH) and oxytetracycline (OXY), by two methods (coprecipitation and anion exchange). We investigated the impact of UV irradiation and / or storage at different temperatures (30, 60 and 120°C) to evaluate their antibacterial activities. The results showed that the antibiotics are localized on the grain surface of the HDL phase. The materials prepared by coprecipitation have a higher release rate and antibacterial activity than those prepared by anion exchange. A significant decrease in the antibacterial activity after storage at high temperature and exposure to UV light was observed. This leads to the conclusion that the HDL phase accelerates the degradation of antibiotics under the effect of temperature and UV light. We investigated the immobilization of nisin in different HDL phases, taking into account the effect of the molar ratio, of the matrix, of the anion and the morphology. The results showed that the immobilization of nisin in the different HDL phases does not affect its antibacterial activity at 4°C. On the other hand, we noteiced that the activity of nisin is almost temperature sensitive under confinement. The localization of nisin plays therefore a very important rolefor the best protection of the antibacterial activity. Finally, we immobilized lysozyme in the various HDL phases. Our results showed that lysozyme is localized on the surface of the material grains, one notes a more important abatement for free lys than adsorbed LYS. This can be due to denaturation of the enzyme site

Full textENGLISH ABSTRACT :The thesis analyses the ways Brussels press corps interacts with its work environment. Our goal is to understand how Brussels ‘milieu’ structures and is structured by practices and representations of media correspondents from New Member States (from 2004 onwards). The political, social and media contexts of these countries are potentially marked by their (post)communist past. Coming to Brussels may provide an opportunity for these journalists to reassess their behavioral and cognitive schemes. Thus, looking at this specific part of the press corps enables us to grasp the dynamics of European socialization and the relationship between the European Union and the media. Along with correspondents’ adaptation, we are also interested in discovering any transformations caused or facilitated by the arrival of these new players to Brussels. Two large hypotheses are formulated. In the first one, New Member States’ correspondents adapt to the specificities of Brussels arena. The second one is depicting them as a source of change. Our main empirical corpus is composed of interviews with correspondents and other actors of the Brussels communication sphere. Interviews are complemented by periods of observation. The resulting data is interpreted using qualitative content analysis together with some discourse analysis techniques. Our results point to a triple normalization. Exposition to Brussels reality leads to a banalization of European political order, general acceptation of membership status of newly joined countries and a routinization of their correspondents’ practices. Both imagined and tangible specificities of New Member States’ correspondents have diminished. Those players are not perceived as significantly distinct from the rest of the press corps.

Full textThis research investigates the appearance of the mass media structures in the Brazilian information broadcasting scene, proposed to the public by professional and social organizations and also sectors of the public power. These social players are perceived as sources of information, thus they shall been named as Medias of Sources (MS). These MS search to intervene in the traditional press newsmaking and agenda-setting. They are capable to present publicaly the point of view from the socio-political segment which maintains and allows them equally to intervene in the pubic sphere and the formation of the social collective imaginary. This characteristic of the Brazilian informative scene leads to formulate the hypothesis of a transformation not only of the media scene, but also of the journalism, by the aggregation of the sources as producers and diffusers of information. It is a sprout of a journalism of the sources. This thesis shows the diversity of the medias of sources in Brazil, presents their roots and makes a case study on the media structure of the Brazilian Federal Senate, by a sociological analysis of their journalists' informative action in comparison with the traditional press parliament correspondents. The central argument in this research is that the Medias of sources represent a new journalistic paradigm and legitimate the idea of the existence of a jounralism outside of the traditional press, that we can be called Journalism of Sources. This journalism of sources is equivalent to a journalism of influence, which seeks to intervene in the mediatical and social agendas and implies the existence of a new professional territory for journalists. The comparison of professional routines and the individual profile show that the journalist keeps his journalistic values even when he works out of traditional media. As a conclusion, it is possible to talk about the existence of a Journalism of Sources but not of a journalist of the source

A lot of artists have seized upon the characteristics of these digital devices to form part, or all of their artistic approaches. Like in the artworld, visual arts teachers are finding themselves with these technologies in the classroom, yet in Switzerland, the majority of visual arts teachers do not use them with their students. My research focuses on the training of future teachers who have not undergone professional arts education, but who use these digital devices on a daily basis. At the HEP Vaud in Switzerland, I was motivated to undertake this research-intervention to conceptualize, new ways of integrating these technologies into visual arts teaching combining students’ ordinary practices with more specialized approaches to contemporary art

Full textThe quality of the relationship between the pharmaceutical sales representative and the physician, influence the prescribing physician loyalty to the pharmaceutical sales representative, the relationship quality also influences the physician to prescribe a new product. The decision to refer exclusively to the contents of the relationship with the concept of the relationship, is a novel approach in the field of prescription, it is validated by the results of the investigation. If the general practitioner, to prescribe, does not need items other than his personal experience of this drug, the influence of loyalty to the health visitor will have little importance. Conversely, for a new drug the doctor will base its intention to prescribe on the quality of the established relationship, but also on his loyalty to the pharmaceutical representative, Isolating the variable sensitivity to innovation, of the general practitioner, we can demonstrate its influence on his intention to prescribe a new drug. But innovation is a major challenge for the pharmaceutical industry and also for the physician; it involves both knowledge and prescription of drugs. The information appears complex due to the multiplicity of sources and the doctor will base its decision to prescribe a new drug on personal characteristic, its own vision of the novelty, his own sensitivity to innovation. Our results show that in 2013 in France it is difficult to develop strategies to launch drug while ignoring the relational orientation of physicians. Our results highlight the influence of the quality of the relationship on the intention to prescribe. Our approach will not only allow a better understanding of the mechanisms of creation and development of the quality of the relationship between the pharmaceutical sales representative and the general practitioner, but also to measure this concept through its components (trust, satisfaction and commitment in the relationship). Similarly, sensitivity to innovation is an individual characteristic of the general practitioner, as marketers in targeting strategies physicians should consider before launch. Similarly, sensitivity to innovation is an individual characteristic of the general practitioner, as such; it must be taken in account when marketers are targeting strategies to them

Full textThe multimedia, the new information and communication technology, has growing success among the general public and the decision makers. Most of the time, the multimedia documents prove yet to be of average quality : their using value is relatively limited, they do not promote communication and finally their usability is very poor. These quality problems most of the time come with eficient multimedia pojects which are often more costly in time and money than anticipated. The works presented in this report tries to propound methodological solutions (design, production and estimation) in order to rationalise the multimedia projects and put the user and the design in the centre of the preoccupations and processes involved. Based on the analysis of the current problems and the existing solutions, the AUTHOR method (according to the quality directives) is established. A classification of the evaluation criteria of multimedia documents according to this method is then presented, so as to make up for the lack of current tools for the evaluation. The objective is to estimate all characteristics (considering communication) of the multimedia documents, that is the diegese, the scenario, the scenation, the scenistic and ergonomics. Evaluations of documents illustrate the approach, make use of the proposed tools, validate their relevance and show the interest of such a classification

Full textThis research gives an account of the history of the « pièces gothiques ». By focusing on the production of these means of thin French black-letter printed brochures from the 1470s to the end of the sixteenth century, it is shown that these booklets played a special role in the transformation of the relationship between their readers and the authorities, and in the evolution of culture during the Renaissance. The « pièces gothiques » (over 2 200 are known) were a new kind of inexpensive book for a large audience, and were spread in the form of a series of small texts printed in French, heralding the new genres of « newspaper » and « popular book ». They were produced by some editors who adapted their publication to the news mechanisms of production and distribution of books then being seen following the invention of the printing press. The « pièces gothiques » were a sign of the appropriation and adaptation of this new technology of social communication (i. E. , the printed book) to editorial audacity and necessity, as well as to new cultural needs. Apart from the spread of information, they also tended to inculcate some of the norms and values that shaped the opinions and behaviour of their readers (or listeners). These texts therefore contributed to the development and functioning of two essential and complementary structures of the modern state: ideological legitimization and opinion

Intrauterine adhesions result in the fibrous adherence of opposing uterine walls, which produce partial or complete obliteration in the uterine cavity. Trauma to a gravid uterine cavity is known to be the main cause of adhesions formation. In order to prevent postsurgical adhesion formation, a new anti-adhesive and resorbable medical device was developed to maintain separated uterine walls after surgical trauma. Anti-adhesive barrier was obtained from polylactic acid – polyethylene oxyde – polylactic acid triblock copolymers presenting specific swelling properties. In vitro biocompatibility and anti-adhesive effects of triblock copolymers were demonstrated using human endometrial cells. In vivo adhesion models have allowed us to confirm the anti-adhesive efficiency and the accuracy of the degradation time of a copolymer. This copolymer does not cause major biological responses after implantation in uterine horns and does not alter reproductive functions. A deployment study of the medical device in uterus of patients from hysterectomy has allowed us to demonstrate that our medical device is adapted to the uterine morphology

Full textThis research emanates from the deep the social changes that our Western societies faced in a context of economic and social crisis, which peaked in 2008. The objective of this study is to demonstrate how the media and brand crisis is part of a deeper social mutation and question the capitalist model of mass consumption. In this context of crisis, we can question the future of brand marketing: is it going to evolve towards an alternative model, more in line with current social changes? Through our study of the evolution of the brand concept from a socio-semiotics angle, we will consider the economic and social environment from the analytical primary framework as defined by Goffman. Therefore, our research is firmly anchored in the field of information and communication sciences. We focus on specific communication occurrences (alter-brand, brand placements in The Big Bang Theory series, brand webseries, native advertising in The Huffington Post) in order to better understand the society that constitutes their environment of transformation. Our research highlights the capacity of the brand to extricate itself from a commercial aspect through insertion or media imitation processes. By focusing on concepts emerging from research in contemporary information and communication sciences, and by putting in perspective experts’ interpretations of brand strategy, we explore the hypothesis of the emergence of a new order of media and cultural brand. Indeed, the brand gradually shifts towards a cultural and media model in order to respond to its “meaning crisis” (Semprini, 2005), in particular by establishing an imaginary around the brand, more anchored in media culture. McLuhan (1967) suggested in the sixties that the medium was the message: today, the brand seems to tend to become a media and establish itself as an integral part of the public sphere

Full textThis thesis follows a twofold approach. Firstly, it consists of textual genetics applied to Pierre Klossowski's unpublished manuscripts relating to La monnaie vivante (1970), an analysis which is accompanied by a theoretical and historical contextualisation. On the basis of previously unpublished material, the aim is to enrich and complicate the situation of Klossowski's thought in relation to his contemporaries, particularly from the perspective of a general economy of subjectivation that can be placed in dialogue with the works of Georges Bataille, Walter Benjamin, Günther Anders, Gilles Deleuze, Michel Foucault and Gilbert Simondon. This contextualisation also takes account of the relationship between the French theoretical field of structuralism and that of cybernetics in the United States, as two interdisciplinary approaches with well-known links that form part of the genealogy of German media thought. Secondly, this research consists of adapting and translating Klossowski's theoretical proposal in its transversal dimension, with a view to its implementation in contemporary discussions within media thinking. In this sense, it is a question of addressing the relationships between the economy of affects developed by Klossowski, insofar as it outlines a processual or general aesthetic articulating processes of subjectivation adaptable to a computerised context, and recent transformations in media thinking: ecotechnics and relational thinking, media archaeology, analysis of cultural techniques. Indeed, insofar as it addresses processes of subjectivation from the point of view of the materiality of industrial and impulsive apparatuses, Klossowski's general economy resonates with the different areas of media thinking that have recently addressed the environmental, anthropological and materialist dimensions of media use. From a broader perspective, this thesis interrogates a genealogical line of contemporary posthumanities. In so doing, it explores a lineage of Nietzschean posthumanism and its relationship with media theory and the various fields that surround it, that preceded it and that nourish it today. Finally, the aim of this approach is to bring theory up to date, so as to enable a novel analysis of the productions of subjectivity inscribed in different computerised devices
