Abstract:
Kata Kunci: desain, WPAP, cenderamata, resin, UKM.AbstractThis research is based on the variety of cultural heritage and visuals in North Sumatra, such as: traditional clothing, traditional houses, traditional activities, historical buildings. This diversity is an attraction for tourists visiting North Sumatra by having unique and modern souvenirs, namely by visualizing into the flow of the modern WPAP’s design style on the key chain. After conducting a survey at the PRSU North Sumatra SME Promotion Gallery, it appears that there is no WPAP application on key chains made from resin. This is the background of this research. This research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method through an experimental approach. The manufacturing process begins with an introduction to graphic design and the Corel Draw software application, observing the demonstration of making WPAP first then designing the product design, and application the WPAP into a resin key chain. The result of this research is the product of the visual cultural anomaly key chain of the North Sumatra WPAP made from resin made by UKM players where the products made are feasible to be produced because the SMEs already understand the basic theories and concepts of WPAP design and production stages from printing to finishing product. By carrying out this research, it is hoped that it will be able to help the community, especially SME players, in improving the economy which is increasingly deteriorating due to the Covid-19 pandemic and advancing tourism in North Sumatera. Keywords: design, WPAP, souvenirs, resins, SME.

Abstract:
Genetic variation is important in plant breeding. However, information on the genetic variability of Arabica coffee especially in coffee field of North Sumatra was not yet available. Magnitude of morphological variation, genotypic variation, phenotypic variation, heritability, genetic advance, genetic correlation, and phenotypic correlation of plant vigors and yield components of 28 genotypes were evaluated using nested design. This research showed morphological and genetic variations of the genotypes in the field. Based on the research locations as operational taxonomic unit, the genotypes were separated into three clusters. Most of the parameters had low to moderate genotypic variation, while phenotypic variation was moderate to high. Heritability and genetic advance were low, moderate, and high. Several plant vigors and yield components had a positive significant genetic and phenotypic correlation one another, and several had negative ones. Coffee berry borer infestation (CBBI) had a highly significant negative genetic correlation with leaf width (rG = -0.309**), leaf weight (rG = -0.671**), fruit diameter (rG = -0.320**), and bean length (rG = -0.175**). CBBI showed a significant positive genetic correlation with mesocarp pH (rG = 0.134*). To reduce CBBI, selection for higher leaf weight is better. Selection on lower pH of mesocarp could be considered to decrease CBBI.Keywords: cluster analysis, genetic correlation, genetic heritability, variability

Abstract:
PT PLN (Persero) Sumatera Utara is a company engaged in the electricity sector, specifically as a 20 kV distribution control implementing unit whose job is to maintain the reliability of the 20 kV system in the work area of North Sumatra which includes Medan to Nias Island. The wide reach of the work scope of PT PLN (Persero) Sumatera Utara causes employees to work outside their positions. One of the travel documents that must be carried by employees who carry out work assignments in the field is a letter of assignment. PT PLN (Persero) Sumatera Utara so far still uses a manual assignment letter making system. Based on the research that I did, there were a number of obstacles, especially when there was an emergency job because the supervisor who was authorized to sign the assignment letter was in a meeting, or on a day off, or was out of the office. It is very important that an assignment letter is carried by employees when working in the field, either as a travel document, or as the identity of an official official from the company so that it does not raise customer suspicion about the activities carried out by the PLN officer. To accelerate the process of approval of the assignment letter, an Online Assignment Letter Information System Design with the Prototype Method was made at PT PLN (Persero) Sumatera Utara. The design and build of this Online Assignment Letter Information System has several features, namely as an admin, as a driver, as a user and as approval. The Information System Design is expected to speed up the approval process for assignment letters for employee official travel at PT PLN (Persero) Sumatera Utara

<em>Abstract.</em>—Pacific lampreys <em>Entosphenus tridentatus </em>(formerly <em>Lampetra tridentata</em>) and western brook lampreys <em>L. richardsoni</em> are observed in many coastal Oregon basins; however, few data are available to adequately describe their distribution and spawning habitat associations. To document landscape-scale distribution and habitat use of spawning adult lampreys, we conducted biweekly redd surveys at 62 randomly selected sites in Smith River (Umpqua basin, Oregon). Characteristics of lamprey habitat were measured at the redd, habitat unit, and reach scales to quantify available and occupied habitat. Pacific lampreys were found primarily in wider, low-elevation streams, whereas western brook lampreys were more widespread but concentrated in headwater and low-order streams. At the unit scale, unit type and dominant substrate were weakly correlated to presence of spawning lampreys. Both species spawned in gravel rich habitats, predominantly pool tail-outs and low gradient riffles. This study infers habitat associations and broad-scale distribution within a coastal basin to assist in the design of monitoring strategies and population assessments at a regional scale.

Abstract:
The aim of the current study was to inform the course design of an elective English news listening course at a private university in Japan. YouTube channels from twelve countries across Asia, Africa, Europe and North America were manually selected by the researcher as a source of in class materials and for course participants to view outside the classroom. To create materials for language-focused learning and assess the vocabulary demands of the videos, transcripts from the channels were extracted using the YouTube Data API and Python, and a corpus of 8,286 video transcripts uploaded in 2021 was randomly sampled to represent the channels. The transcripts were cleaned, and frequency lists were created for adjectives, nouns, and verbs at CEFR B1 level and above. In addition, proper noun and multi-word unit frequency lists were created. An online concordancer was created using the open-source tool ShinyConc , so the learners could investigate the usage of the words in the frequency lists by themselves. A Python script was written to assess the lexical coverage of the videos using the CEFR-J wordlist, and the results suggested that learners may need to be at the CEFR B2 level or above to comfortably comprehend short news YouTube videos. Suggestions for future research are made in the paper, and Python code and supplementary data are available at the author’s GitHub page (https://github.com/cooperchris17/yt_short_news ).

Abstract:
A fruit native to the Polynesian islands, the cajá-manga belongs to the Anacadiaceae family. This species plays a prominent role in fruit growing in the northeast region of the country. The growing demand for its fruits has provided a larger cultivation area. Therefore, it is necessary to advance research that studies all stages of the cultivation and physiological system for the commercial production of this fruit plant. The objective of this work was to evaluate the physical and chemical characteristics of cajá-manga in the north of Minas Gerais. The experiment was carried out in a completely randomized experimental design, and consisted of ten replications and five fruits per experimental unit. The evaluations carried out were physical characteristics (length, diameter, fruit mass, pulp yield, fruit skin color, luminosity, hue angle and chromaticity), chemical characteristics (soluble solids, pH, titratable acidity and soluble solids/titratable acidity ratio). ). The mean values and standard deviation of each variable were determined for the data. The cajá-manga fruit had a diameter and length of 55.16 ± 3.91 mm and 39.43 ± 3.17 mm, respectively. As for the mass, it was 54.16 ± 4.77 g, while the pulp yield was greater than 50% (79.37% ± 1.02). The fruits had pH levels (2.90 ± 0.15), soluble solids 16.04 oBrix ± 1.70, titratable acidity (0.90% ± 0.10). In relation to brightness (58.12 ± 2.19), hue angle (70.85 ± 1.44) and chromaticity (54.18 ± 2.48). Similar to those described in the literature for other fruits of the same botanical genus, it demonstrated that the fruit is within commercial standards.
