Abstract:
Narratology study has been debate from scholars from myth to postmodern times. However, although postmodern thinkers put aside a set rule of narrative, yet in fact in there are found numerous generous amount of narrative by incorporating the world and the self. This research attemps at applying morphological perspective of Propp’s narrative functions in J.K. Rowling’s novels such as Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Using qualitative content analysis approach, this research was conducted by doing documentation, examination, and classification to obtain the relevant data. The result shows that there are identified 19 functions in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone which written using propp’s nomeclature symbols as βγ2δεη1θ1A14CDEG6J1K5ExI1↑, and then 21 functions in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets written in nomeclature symbols β2γδε2ζη3θA1aBCDEF5G3H2I2Rs1MNQ1, and 13 functions in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them written in nomeclature symbols αδ[η1η2η3]A13a3C[E7E8][F1F2F4F5F7]GH1I2[K2K5K6K7K10]Rs5Q3. In addition, J.K. Rowling’s novels which widely accepted as postmodern literary works are still relevant to Propp’s morphologic model of narrative functions approach. In short, Propp’s theory is applicable for the study of narrative not only for folktale but also other literary genres.

Abstract:
Improvement of free convection heat transfer from three finned cylinders arranged at a triangle shape fixed between two walls has been investigated in this study. Three mild steel finned cylinders fixed between two walls from Pyrex glass have been used as a test rig. It has been changed the spacing between the cylinders (X/D=1,2,3 & S/D=2,4,6) and the head orientation of a triangle to the top under constant heat flux values (38, 254, 660, 1268) W/m2 and compare with case of three finned cylinders arranged in vertical array in line fixed between two wall. The experiments are carried for Rayleigh number (Ra) from (15x103 to 14 x104 ) and Prandtl number from (0.706-0.714 ). The results indicated an increase in Nu with increasing Ra for all cylinders. Furthermore,hx and Nu increased proportionally with the increasing of cylinder spacings for all heat fluxes. Also the experimental results show the case of triangle arrangement is improvement the heat transfer more than case of vertical arrangement. Heat transfer dimensionless correlating equation is also proposed. Nomeclature: Ax: surface area(m2), T∞: surrounding temperature(k), D: the outer diameter of fin (m), Kf: the thermal conductivity for air at film temperature(W/m.k), hx: Local convection heat transfer(W/m2.k), Gravitational acceleration(m/s2), I: Electric current (Amp), Nu: Nusselt number, Pr: Prandtl number

"A Phase II Trial of Myeloma Induction Therapy with Cyclophosphamide, Bortezomib, and Dexamethasone (Cybor-D): Improved Response over Historical Lenalidomide-Dexamethasone Controls." Abstract:
Abstract Background: We previously reported an 85% response rate with 54% CR/nCR using a combination of cyclophosphamide (Cy), prednisone, and bortezomib (BZ) in relapsed myeloma (MM). We now report a Phase II clinical trial using a combination of Cy, BZ, and dexamethasone (Dex) [Cybor-D] in newly-diagnosed MM. We then compare the activity of this combination with historical controls treated with our current induction standard of Lenalidomide-Dexamethasone (L-Dex). Methods: 30 patients have been enrolled on Cybor-D. Treatment consists of Cy 300mg/m2 p.o. days 1, 8, 15, and 22; BZ 1.3 mg/m2 days 1, 4, 8, and 11, and Dex 40mg p.o. days 1–4, 9–12, 17–20. Prophylactic use of acyclovir, a quinolone and antifungal prophylaxis was highly recommended for all patients on study. Growth factors were allowed. As a relevant contemporaneous control for speed and depth of response, we used 33 patients treated on a recent Mayo Clinic trial of L-Dex (Rajkumar. Blood: 2005 106;4050–3). Response was defined according to IMWG criteria although in the current trial, bone marrows for confirmation of CR are not yet available on all patients. Results: At time of current analysis, 17 patients on Cybor-D were evaluable through at least one cycle for response and toxicity. Baseline characteristics included mean age of 57, 29% female, 41/24% ISS stage II/III. There were statistically more early stage patients on L-Dex; otherwise, baseline patient characteristics were similar. The mean % decline in monoclonal (M) protein from baseline following cycles 1–4 of Cybor-D were 71%, 90%, 93%, 96%. This compares favorably with L-Dex where equivalent % decline in M proteins were 66%, 77%, 80%, and 79%. Thus, in preliminary results, Cybor-D produces a more rapid initial decline and mean % reduction in M protein than L-Dex. Overall response rate (≥ PR) after one cycle of Cybor-D was 77% with 36% obtaining ≥VGPR (L-Dex 73% and 18% respectively). The % of patients obtaining ≥VGPR after each cycle was 36%, 64%, 77%, and 100% for Cybor-D as compared to 18%, 36%, 42%, and 33% for L-Dex. The overall ≥VGPR at the end of four cycles of Cybor-D is currently100% (≥ 66%nCR using older nomeclature). Major toxicities ≥ grade 3 for Cybor-D included hematologic (37%), hyperglycemia (15%) and neuropathy (11%). Conclusions: In summary, for newly-diagnosed MM patients, four cycles of Cybor-D produces more frequent, rapid and deep responses when contrasted with historical L-Dex controls. Further confirmation of response rates and effect on TTP will be required.

Abstract:
This article is devoted to designing nomeclatural standars and herbarium vouchers of raspberry cultivars bred in the M.A. Lisavenko Research Institute of Horticulture for Siberia. The article presents nomeclatural standards of cultivars ‘Barnaul’skaya’, ‘Blesk’, ‘Dobraya’, ‘Zoren’ka Altaya’, ‘Illyuziya’, ‘Kredo’ and ‘Rubinovaya’. The work has been performed according to the rules and recommendations outlined in the International Code of Nomenclature for Cultivated Plants and guidelines developed for the vegetatively propagated plants. The material for nomenclatural standards should be collected with assistance of either the cultivar author, a representative of the institution owning the cultivar, or an expert in these cultivars. Therefore, material of the cultivars in question was picked with assistance of N.D. Yagovtseva, a representative of the Lisavenko Institute and author of two cultivars ‘Blesk’ and ‘Dobraya’. Nomenclatural standards contain two herbarium sheets with parts of one plant collected at the same time: the first sheet holds the middle third of a primocane and a leaf from this part, while the second one displays the middle third of a floricane and a lateral branch with fruits. Also, the specimens were supplied with photos of fruits taken before herbarization. The nomenclature standards have been deposited with the Herbarium of cultivated plants, their wild relatives, and weeds (WIR).

Abstract:
Desmodium is characterized mainly by lilac flowers arranged in pseudoracemose inflorescences, stamens monadelphous or diadelphous and a lomentaceous fruit generally covered by uncinate hairs. A taxonomic revision of the Brazilian species was carried out based on the analysis of 3,000 herbarium specimens, including all nomeclatural types. Field trips to the most species-rich areas of Desmodium in Brazil were undertaken, resulting in the sampling of 29 out of the 34 species recognised for the country. We recognise 101 names as synonyms, 27 of which are new. Lectotypes were designated for 60 accepted names and synonyms, and two neotypes and one epitype were chosen. A new combination is proposed for Meibomia microcarpa, as well as a new name for Meibomia guaranitica var. microcarpa. Desmodium album is a new record for Brazil, and D. craspediferum, D. glabrescens and D. juruenense, previously known only by type collections, were recollected during this study. All species are described, mapped and illustrated. An identification key, and comments on taxonomy and nomenclature are provided.
