Sufficiency is a polysemous term presented by academic research and the media as the essential scenario for ecological transition. Its contemporary meaning encompasses a multitude of meanings: frugality, temperance, voluntary simplicity, all of which refer to possible ways of regulating our material consumption. This thesis examines and tests the notion of sufficiency by drawing on field research into the 'urban migration of teleworkers'. A move to rural areas based on materialistic and affective motivations. We are studying the subjective relationship to consumption and the representations of the ideals of life of the digital-neo-rural. This neologism defines this new figure of the digital employee straddling several territories, between modernism and a return to the land. Our surveys reveal an experiential sufficiency that shows several possible operationalities of this reductionist concept: "debond effect", "territorially responsible consumption", "another relationship with time", "contingent sufficiency", "domestic hub". Sufficiency has a number of facets that can broaden its desirability. Acculturation is managed by integration strategies in which consumption is used to legitimise territorial affiliation. Our research shows that digital-neo-rural living combines environmental, technological, economic, and societal issues. This thesis provides a better understanding of the construction of alternative lifestyles and imaginaries, with the logic of abundance being called into question
Rojas, Silva Belén. "La marche de l'inquiétude : de jeunes Chiliens à Paris." Thesis, Sorbonne Paris Cité, 2016. http://www.theses.fr/2016USPCB175/document.
The main objective of this research is to understand the potential of mobility to empower transformation process within the individuals. In other words, this PhD thesis is a research on the possibilities of migrants to become subjects in motion or "nomads" (Maffesoli, 1997, 2001; Braidotti, 2004, 2011). On a theoretical level, firstly it integrates perspectives about the subjectivity of migrants that "denature" displacements like processes exclusively given by economic reasons and, consequently, the individualism of migrants and the assessment of the travel by itself. Secondly, it integrates insights about a subjectivity that also migrates, which, without working directly the phenomenon of migration, accompany us at the moment of thinking about the plurality of migratory motivations and ways of exercising mobility, but beyond that, they show themselves attentive to the possibilities of subjects mutations from contact with otherness and how its changes are imbricated with new forms of social ties. On a methodological level, the investigation focuses on the stories of young Chileans (men and women between 18 and 35 years, residents in the Paris area), obtained with semi-structured/in-depth interview technique. Thus, 54 interviews were conducted: 45 corresponding to our theoretical sample and 9 interviews which do not match our criteria, and we have estimated as complementary. The theoretical sample was defined according to the Chilean nationality criteria (single or as part of multiple national memberships), age (18-35 years), independence (migration apart from the family of origin) and stay in migratory destination (3 years minimum). To illustrate, and outside the framework of the criteria of the sample, we can say that this resulted in a diverse group of students, students / workers and workers; 28 women and 26 men. Data processing was carried out in agreement with the proposal of "stories construction" of Barbara Biglia and Jordi Bonet-Martí (2009), which, by enhancing the knowledge located and dialogical, has enabled us to develop an exercise of multi-positioning of subjects during migration, from the consideration of the senses involved by the protagonists of the experience. Hence this research, located on the scale of daily life, focuses on immigration understandings that emerge from the encounter with the outside otherness, then on the stories of the encounter with an inner otherness through the migratory experience, and finally, the consequences of these processes in relation to the definition of belonging. Our purpose is to confront the notions about immigration of migrants themselves to traditional distinctions used to classify Migration (occupation, extension, etc.), to arrive to new understandings, sensitive to the complexity and dynamism of particulars experiences between strangers. So by taking the limits set by traditional interpretations and meanings expressed by migrants, we want to approach to migration's potentiality to enable process of transformations in the perspective of what it is possible to "becoming" individually and collectively

Thesis abstract : The rise of journalism at an industrial scale from the XIXth century was mainly based upon the economic alliance between several interests and investments sources, and which are now challenged in the digital economy context. This research aims at contributing to a better understanding of the contemporary transformations of this practice of discursive production, together with changes taking place within media organizations as well as strategies and discourses at stake. In both France and Quebec, this research focus on two media groups, Ouest-France and Québecor, notably involved in newspapers, and confronted with digital issues since the mid-1990s. Both business models and stakeholders interests are changing, while journalism does not manage to ensure economic independence. Its subordination position is somewhat reinforced through models and apparatuses gradually rolled out. This ongoing transformation is built through both organizational changes and discourse. This doctoral research was based on cross-empirical approaches, using document analysis within and around the two groups, as well as discourse analysis. The latter was based in particular on interviews with executives, managers and information workers. This research design and the junction of these approaches reveal that the transformation of journalism and its economy appears not as mere goal to com, but as a process already at work. By leaving some records and traces, covered by this doctoral work, this transformation builds as well upon investments and discourses. Keywords : Journalism, Internet, Web, Digital media, Newspaper publishing, Press -- Economic aspects, Business Models, Discourse analysis.
Bargès, Elisabeth. "Impact de la multiplication des modes de diffusion sur le financement des films français." Paris 9, 2007. https://portail.bu.dauphine.fr/fileviewer/index.php?doc=2007PA090050.
This thesis studies the increase of access to movies due to digitalization and its impact on the financing of the French cinematographic production. Our work emphasizes that the economic rationality between a financing of movies from the television sector is challenged by the evolution of his exploitation markets. During the seventies, the movie attendance crisis because of the television apparition induced their contributions to movie financing. The multiplication of technical access to movies introduces changes on their consumption both in cumulative and substitutive ways. We emphasise the multiplication of access to movies is responsible of an attraction of films showed on television less important than the years before. Consequently, the revenues of television editors for the diffusion of movies decrease and then covered less and less the contributions to movie financing they are subjected to. We conclude that the French mechanism for financing movies is no more in phase with the evolutions of market evolutions. Finally, some solutions to adjust both parts of the equation are discussed

Schirrer, Maxime. "Révolution informatique et collectivités locales : quels impacts ? : l'exemple de la métropole parisienne." Paris 10, 2007. http://www.theses.fr/2007PA100058.
The prime objective of the thesis is to know if the information of the administrative services modifies the organization of the local communities. The second objective questions the repercussions in economic terms of performances and social equity. The impact study of the TIC on the level of the local institutions clarifies the emergence of a new economic area founded on the support of the economy of the networks. When the innovation is not any more the fruit of a kingly actor, but a source of differentiation, which problems are posed the leaders and the technicians of the local communities in order to distinguish and to make gravitational their territories? The analysis of case of Paris, Yvelines and Seine-et-Marne were used as test with our assumptions in order to identify variables of differentiation or convergence. The conclusions drawn from the analysis of these three departments contributed to a personal interpretation on the comprehension of spaces "postindustriels"
Malardé, Vincent. "Économie collaborative et régulation des plateformes numériques." Thesis, Rennes 1, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019REN1G006.
Facilitated by peer-to-peer platforms, the sharing economy has become part of the French way of life. Airbnb, Blablacar, Leboncoin... these platforms are now well known in France. This thesis aims to provide more elements, both theoretical and empirical, to inform the current debates around these platforms. This thesis work begins by using survey data to measure the importance of the use of collaborative platforms in France, and to establish the socio-economic characteristics of users. Then this thesis focuses on the dynamics of developing a collaborative platform, through the example of the French home-to-work ride-sharing platform, iDVROOM. The objective is to study the complementary role of network effects, spatial effects and community effects on the development of the platform. The rest of this thesis focuses on the competition between the short-term rental platform Airbnb and the hotel industry in Paris. The effect of the density of hosts on the collaborative platform on the price charged by an hotel is the subject of a firstempirical study, before being modeled in a theoretical way to discuss the possible effects of a set of alternative regulations of the platform’s activity. Finally, competition between two platforms is analysed when they have the possibility of implementing tariff discrimination strategies designed to encourage supplier exclusivity. The conclusion develops the implications of these results forpolicy makers, platforms and academic research

Due to the social acceleration of "late modernity", new political and economic issues are taking more space in territorial compositions. Confronting them with a strong recomposition of temporalities that affect the lived world. The digital transformation is not the cause but is part of this dynamic "ephemeral present"? And is likely to strengthen it in concrete terms at various levels of scale. The aim of this work is to understand is to understand how the relations between commercial forms and spatial forms are recomposed, redrawn by the numerical mutation. By studying, within the framework of a CIFRE, the respective evolutions of the shops and the territory of Rennes’s city center. The current research program will help you understad the link between city practices, commercial practices, places and spaces, but also temporalities. This research program takes part of the "Between Form and Standards" program of the PREFIcs team. It is based on an extended conception of the logics of information and communication which consider that information, to make sens, symbolically, must also be a process of formatting, considering the articulation of organizational forms. This research paper therefore questions the reconfiguration in space and time, those of public spheres and material assignments as a framework for commercial logics and consumption imaginaries
Gueydier, Pierre. "HADOPI comme expérimentation : récit d'une instrumentation de l'action publique." Thesis, Paris, ENMP, 2014. http://www.theses.fr/2014ENMP0072/document.
The High Authority for Transmission of Creative Works and Copyright Protection on the Internet (HADOPI) was adopted in 2009 with the mission to discipline acts of intellectual property infringement on the internet. The main purpose of this thesis is to produce an empirical account of the creation of this new law (an instrument of public action as an experience of internet governance and internauts). While it is a somewhat minor public issue, illegal downloading creates a myriad of issues across the framework of public action, historically recognised as literary and artistic property rights. The political effects of the digital age, deterritorialised consequences of globalisation, liberalism and technology necessitate a rethinking of the relationship between sovereignty and discipline. The gridlock between DRM; supranational norms; the hijacking of content by users; the collective power of rights holders; the unalterable nature of intellectual property and the militants for free access to culture; the public authorities had to invent and innovate an instrument of public action. The goal of which is to extend an added value of the French nation state: the defense of the cultural exception. Are internauts governable? In constructing a representation of the internet user, through promoting obedience, and by modifying behaviour through incremental incitation (from being informed to being penalised) and by producing as much unwanted behaviour, the HADOPI has effected the political result of inaugurating the first ever attempt (albeit fragile, yet pioneering) to govern the internet and internauts
