Abstract:
This paper deals with the study of pollution trend in Hindon river between Meerut and Greater Noida stretch along with change in their population density, types of industries and l iving standards. It was observed that heavy metal pollution increases when we move from Meerut to Mohan Nagar and decreases when we further move towards Greater Noida. Organic pollution and BOD level increased many folds then the permissible limits in Meerut and Greater Noida. Concentration of inorganic ions gradually increases from Meerut to Greater Noida. Where population density is high, organic pollution dominates and where industries are more, heavy metal and inorganic ions load is more. With increase in pollution level, risk of exposure to diseases also increased so, we should emphasize on pollution treatment and control.

Abstract. To make transit rail services more attractive, the preferred public travel mode and serve as the backbone of any metropolitan area, there arises a need to create a sustainable and inclusive urban environment with access to all. This study aims to map the pedestrian permeability and impermeability by categorizing roads and streets around identified transit nodes in Noida as public, private and non-accessible by all. By doing so, the study identifies very distinct and spatial divisions like gated communities and urban villages that have emerged as social ghettos in the planned city Noida and thereby, devoid it of being an inclusive city. Initial metro station smart android-based mobile surveys were done across 12 elevated metro stations falling on the blue transit corridor line connecting Delhi with its satellite town Noida using smart apps namely ODK and Kobo Toolbox with the analysis done in QGIS. It was found that trip distance and time had a strong association with walking while age, gender and purpose of the trip had no association with walking to the metro station. Most transit users living within one-kilometer walking distance prefer to walk to the nearest metro station in Noida. Finally, the study shows the area difference between the perceived and actual Isochrones prepared in QGIS as Ped-sheds after deducing areas such as gated communities, superblocks and unplanned settlements like urban villages where the existing road/street network is not accessible by all or safe to use.

Abstract:
Background: Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer related deaths globally. it is the common malignancy in women. Lack of early detection leads to low survival rates. Breast self-examination (BSE) is a screening technique that involves examining the breasts for lumps. The aim of the study was to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of breast self-examination, among the students.Methods: A cross sectional study was carried out in Noida International University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. Quantitative data was collected using a structured questionnaire, filled by 100 female university students that were selected by convenient sampling method. Descriptive analysis of data was done using SPSS version 17.0 (Chicago USA).Results: Out of the 100 participants 83% were in the age group of 15-25 years, 25% of them had family history of breast cancer, and it was revealed that majority of them (94%) have heard of breast cancer and 85% of them heard of breast examination. Despite the high knowledge that was cited among the participants, only 43% of them were having good attitudes towards BSE and only 51% among them have ever practiced BSE.Conclusions: The study revealed good knowledge, negative attitude and low practice towards BSE among the students of Noida International University, Greater Noida, UP State, India. Therefore, there is need to plan and prepare materials for educating the students on BSE to improve primary prevention of breast cancer.

Quality is of principal subject to human beings in all perspective of life. When it comes to the quality of the pharmaceuticals which are consumed by humans, it is of most extreme significant as they are utilized for the prosperity of the humanity. In this study our objective was to evaluate the experimental in vitro study of the commercially obtainable Diclofenac Sodium injection brands which are available in Greater Noida. Ten different ampoules of 75mg/3ml diclofenac sodium injection products randomly collected from retail pharmacies and Govt. Hospital of targeted area in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, twenty ampoules 75 mg/3ml have the same batch number of each brand were collected for the analysis. All the analytical methods were done in the quality control laboratories of JBJM Parenteral Pvt Ltd, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. The study was carried out by performing various tests which is affiliated with the quality such asgeneral appearance of Diclofenac Sodium injection ampoule, Particulate matter, Average fill volume, pH and content assay through pH Meter (Spectra lab), UV-Vis Spectrophotometer (UV-1900i SHIMADZU). The assay was evaluated by UV-Vis Spectrophotometer at the wavelength of 276nm. The results show that diclofenac sodium injection following IP specification, it can be concluded that all of the 10 brands of the drug passed through UV-Vis spectroscopy method also in pH meter. The Spectroscopy method was successfully applied to evaluate of Diclofenac Sodium injection. Dissertação de Mestrado em Design, com a especialização em Moda apresentada na Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade de Lisboa para obtenção do grau de Mestre.
Com o gosto e o interesse pela área do design de vestidos de noiva, bem como a ambição de obter experiência no ramo, tive oportunidade de realizar um estágio curricular no atelier de Iza Van. Iza Van dedica-se à criação e confeção de vestidos de noivas feitos por medida, com atendimento personalizado. A designer cria vestidos exclusivos para cada uma das suas clientes / noivas – não criando dois vestidos iguais. A técnica mais utilizada pela designer é o draping aplicado ao design. Esta técnica consiste no processo de criar diretamente no manequim com tecido. De imediato, o designer visualiza tridimensionalmente o que idealizou. Esta técnica e/ou este processo de criar é um dos motivos fulcrais para ter realizado o estágio académico neste atelier. Ao longo de três meses, aprofundei o modo como Iza Van trabalha diretamente no manequim. Deste modo, o tópico investigativo recaiu no processo de design do vestido de noiva e na envolvência do cliente no processo criativo, de modo a concluir se o draping oferece benefícios para a criação e porventura para a confeção. O enquadramento teórico começa por entender a importância do vestido de noiva e o seu papel em Portugal, bem como o Branco, enquanto cor tradicional e simbólica do vestido usado pela noiva. De seguida, fez-se um breve estudo sobre as “Modistas e Costureiras – As artesãs da moda”. Foram elas que constituíram uma parte importante da história da moda em Portugal, acrescentando à evolução do draping uma prática preciosa, no que diz respeito ao processo. Por último relatei o meu percurso durante o estágio académico – o meu acompanhamento e observação dos métodos de trabalho, a relação com o cliente e a chegada ao resultado final: o vestido de noiva.
ABSTRACT: I had the chance to complete an internship in Iza Van’s atelier, something that was fuelled by my passion and interest for the design of wedding dresses area, as well as my ambition to improve my overall knowledge in the subject. Iza Van is a designer who works in creating and making female wedding dresses custom made. The designer creates unique dresses for each one of their clients/brides – not creating two equal dresses. The most used technique by the designer is draping applied to design. This technique consists in creating directly in the manikin with fabric. With this technique, the designer can also have an immediate three-dimensional view of the project. This technique/process of creating is one of the main reasons why I chose this academical internship in Iza Van’s atelier. Throughout three months I deepened my knowledge in the way Iza Van works directly in the manikin. Therefore, my research topic was focused on the process of wedding dress and in wrapping the clients in the creative process, in order to conclude if the draping offers benefits for the creation as well as for the making. The theorical framework begins by understanding the importance of the wedding dress and its role in Portugal, as well as the White, as traditional and symbolic colour used by brides. After this, a brief study about “Dressmakers and Seamstresses – fashion artisans”. It was them who had a huge contribute for the fashion history in Portugal, adding to the evolution of draping a valuable practice. Lastly, I reported my course throughout the academical internship – my thoughts and opinions about the working methods, my relationship with the client and the reaching of the result: the wedding dress.

Le but de cette étude a été essayer d'identifier et reflechir sur des processus par lesquels l'image de la "fiancée de Garibaldi" a été construite a la longue du temps. Pour notre analyse, nous avons choisi de faire une lecture linéaire des occurrences de la persone/personnage Manoela, à la fois dans l'histoire et dans la littérature, pour identifier où a commencé la spéculation a propos de la fiançaille entre Garibaldi et Manoela et comment cela a geré um quiproquo a propos de ce qui aurait eu lieu, vu que, cela a été à partir de ce point là qu'elle a devenu un " fait divers " et puis, un personnage fictif. Nous considérons qui a été três important de faire cette étude à propos de cette persone /personnage, parce que, même qu'elle a eu beaucoup exploitée par des spéculations historiques ou par la littérature, il n'y avait pas encore une recherche dediée à esquisser son parcours et comprendre comment ce processus a été eu lieu. notre recherche, nous avons trouvé des inexactitudes dans les dates et dans les informations à propos de Manoela ; aussi bien que nous avons idéntifié des nuances incohérentes dans des descriptions de Manoela. Muette, mélancolique et fragile dans la nouvelle Garibaldi & Manuela: uma história de amor de Josué Guimarães; puissante et narratrice de l'histoire dans les romans A casa das sete mulheres et Um farol no pampa de Letícia Wierzchowski; apparition éthéré, figure frivole e fantomatique qui prend la forme juste pour le language, dans laquelle elle se manifeste à travers de cette draperie qui est l'écriture. Donc, à notre étude, nous avons cherché de comprendre comment ces processos historiques, litteraire et imaginatifs s'interpénètre en rompant des frontières entre le réel et le fictif dans la fabrication de l'image de la "fiancée de Garibaldi". Au premier chapitre de notre travail, nous discutons la perméabilité entre l'histoire et la littérature et les notions de document/monumento et trace dans la construction de l'image de la "fiancée de Garibaldi". Pour le deuxième chapitre, nous travaillons sur la caractérisation du personnage dans la nouvelle Garibaldi & Manuela: une histoire d'amour de Josué Guimarães, dans lequel elle a eu son premier rôle principal dans um récit et le roman A casa das sete mulheres de Letícia Wierzchowski, dans lequel elle a pris la narration du récit. Et nous achevons avec la discussion du personnage comme un fantôme de l'histoire à la littérature
O objetivo desse estudo foi procurar identificar e refletir sobre os processos pelos quais a imagem da "noiva de Garibaldi" foi construída ao longo do tempo. Para nossa análise, optamos por fazer uma leitura linear das ocorrências da pessoa/personagem Manoela, tanto na história como na literatura, para identificar onde começou a especulação sobre o suposto noivado entre Garibaldi e Manoela e como isso gerou um quiproquó sobre o que possa ter acontecido, visto que, foi a partir deste ponto que ela se tornou notícia de jornal e, mais tarde, personagem ficcional. Consideramos que foi importante fazer um estudo sobre essa pessoa/personagem, posto que, por mais explorada que sua figura tenha sido pelas especulações históricas ou pela literatura, ainda não havia uma pesquisa dedicada a delinear sua trajetória e entender como esse processo aconteceu. Em nossa pesquisa, encontramos imprecisões em datas e informações à respeito de Manoela; bem como identificamos nuances díspares nas descrições sobre Manoela. Muda, melancólica e frágil na novela Garibaldi & Manuela de Josué Guimarães; forte e narradora da história nos romances A casa das sete mulheres e Um farol no pampa de Letícia Wierzchowski; aparição etérea, figura frívola e fantasmal que somente toma forma pela linguagem, na qual ela se revela através dessa roupagem que é a escrita. Portanto, em nosso trabalho, buscamos compreender como estes processos históricos, literários e imagéticos se interpenetraram, rompendo as fronteiras entre o real e o ficcional na fabricação da imagem da "noiva de Garibaldi". No primeiro capítulo do nosso trabalho, discutimos a permeabilidade entre a literatura e a história e as noções de documento/monumento e rastro na construção da imagem da "noiva de Garibaldi". Para o segundo capítulo, trabalhamos com a caracterização da personagem na novela Garibaldi & Manuela de Josué Guimarães, no qual a personagem tem o seu primeiro papel de destaque numa narrativa e no romance A casa das sete mulheres de Letícia Wierzchowski, com a tomada da narração do texto pela personagem. E, finalizamos com a discussão da personagem como um fantasma da história na literatura

Abstract:
O presente trabalho de investigação, Moda Nupcial: Preferências de Mercado e Propostas Customizadas, visa estudar as preferências das consumidoras relativamente à moda nupcial a usar na cerimónia de maior relevo na cultura ocidental: o casamento. Nesta cerimónia, indiscutivelmente, a figura de destaque é a noiva. O que se pretende neste estudo é a análise da oferta presente no mercado de moda nupcial feminina e também do que as consumidoras deste tipo de produto mais procuram, de modo a conseguir constituir um manual que possa ser consultado por todos os interessados neste tema. A evolução histórica da moda nupcial, e demais factores relacionados com a cerimónia, estão presentes neste trabalho. Os elementos de design do vestuário de noiva mais relevantes também são abordados, tais como os materiais, as formas, as cores, entre outros. As formas de comercialização, mais comuns neste tipo de vestuário, são aqui referidas. As lojas, as feiras, os ateliers de designer, ou a internet, são alguns dos meios abordados. Posteriormente, na parte experimental, deseja saber-se se existem factores que influenciam as escolhas das noivas, como a idade, a altura do dia e a estação em que estas casam. Pretende-se, também, preparar uma plataforma de trabalho, na qual se possam disponibilizar produtos de moda nupcial customizados. Utilizando ferramentas de simulação 3D, informação obtida através de inquéritos, bem como a revisão de literatura, aspira-se a criar uma proposta de uma página virtual, em que a consumidora de moda nupcial possa participar da criação, ao nível do design, de um vestido de noiva por ela customizado, de forma interactiva, podendo aceder à pré-visualização desse mesmo artigo, sem ter que o experimentar. Na conclusão deste trabalho, constata-se que a customização é uma possibilidade de mercado cada vez mais significativa, e um meio para optimizar a indústria da moda nupcial, no sentido de satisfazer as necessidades tanto do consumidor, como do empresário.
This research paper, Moda Nupcial: Preferências de Mercado e Propostas Customizadas tries to analyze consumer‟s preferences in regards to wedding garments to wear in the most relevant ceremony in western cultures: the wedding ceremony. In this ceremony, with no doubt, the leading figure is the bride. This paper‟s aim is to analyse what is available on the bridal fashion market and also what the consumers look for, in order to produce a guide so that interested people may take advice with. The historical evolution of bridal fashion and other factors related to the ceremony are present in this work. The most relevant design elements, such as materials, shapes, colours, among others, are also addressed. The most common types of trade, of this king of apparel, are discussed. The stores, fairs, the designer ateliers, or the Internet, are addressed. Subsequently, in the experimental part of this paper, we wish to know whether there are factors that influence brides‟ choices, like age, the time of day and season in which they marry. It is intended to also prepare a work platform in which to provide custom bridal fashion products. Using 3D simulation tools, surveys‟ information and the literature review, the aim is to create a plan for a webpage where the consumer of bridal fashion can participate in the creation and design, by customized herself, of a wedding dress, interactively, and be able to access the preview of that product, without having to try it on. It seems that the customization is an increasingly significant market possibility, and a means to optimize the bridal fashion industry, to meet the needs of both the consumer and the industry.

Esta tese dedica-se ao estudo do gênero poético conhecido como epithalamium, \"epitalâmio\", e sua presença entre as composições poéticas supérstites localizadas temporalmente entre o início do período helenístico e o fim da Antigüidade Clássica. Neste estudo, são analisadas composições poéticas gregas e latinas com o objetivo de identificar as características que seriam associadas a esse gênero ao longo desses séculos.
This doctoral thesis is a study about the poetical genre known as epithalamium and its occurrence among the transmitted poetical compositions located between the beginning of the Hellenistic period and the end of the classical antiquity. Greek and Latin poetical compositions are analysed in order to identify the main characteristics that are supposed to be associated to that genre during that time

Da Grécia antiga até os dias de hoje, o sexo feminino carrega um fardo de submissão perante o sexo masculino, que parte das diferenças biológicas e chega à esfera sociocultural. Durante séculos, a mulher permaneceu silenciada, aceitando a condição de dominação imposta, principalmente, pela diferença de seu corpo em relação ao do homem. Entretanto, aos poucos, o sexo feminino passa a lutar em prol de seus direitos igualitários, atingindo, até certo ponto, direitos semelhantes àqueles desfrutados pelos homens. Mesmo assim, a dificuldade em igualar os direitos entre ambos ainda se apresenta latente em nossa sociedade. Este trabalho analisa, por meio da perspectiva dos Estudos Culturais de Gênero, elementos significativos de representação feminina e sua sexualidade, representados em A noiva escura, de Laura Restrepo, a fim de discutir a subversão ou não do discurso patriarcal por meio do exercício da sexualidade da mulher. Assim, defende-se a hipótese de que a mulher, ao optar pela atividade da prostituição como meio de subsistência, bem como para o próprio prazer, coloca-se distante dos domínios do poder masculino. Cabe ressaltar que, por estimular uma divisão de gêneros, a sociedade representada na narrativa privilegia os valores alicerçados em uma base patriarcal, restando ao feminino mover-se em função de sua sexualidade. Nesse sentido, a desconstrução da oposição homem/mulher e as demais oposições associadas a esta no universo narrado acontecem por meio da sexualidade feminina, representada pela personagem principal – Sayonara, a prostituta.

From ancient Greece up to nowadays, the female gender carries a burden of submission before the male gender, which beggings with the biological differences and goes up to the sociocultural sphere. For centuries, women remained silenced, withstanding the condition of domination imposed to them, mainly because the differences of their body compared to men. However, little by little, the female gender starts to fight for their social equality, acomplishing, up to a certain point, similar rights of those of men. Even so, the difficulty to equal the rights between both genders is still veiled in our society. This work analyses, from the perspective of Cultural Studies of Gender, significant elements of female representation and their sexuality, represented in "A noiva escura", by Laura Restrepo, with the intention of discussing the subversion or not of the patriarcal speech by means of women's sexuality use. Then, the hipotesis defended is of the women, choosing prostitution as a mean of survival, as well as pleasure itself, puts themselves away from male dominance. It's also needed to emphysize, by stimulating the division of genders, society represented in narrative holds high the values based on patriarcal ways, remains to female move on their sexuality. In this way, the deconstruction of the opposition man/woman and the other oppositions associated with one, in the narrated universe happens by female sexuality, represented by the main character – Sayonara, the prostitute.

La pieza se estrenó en el escenario histórico social de 1943, y con la misma comenzó una nueva fase de la dramaturgia en Brasil, el teatro moderno brasileño. El estudio evidencia como actúan en el trabajo de creación las categorías represión y transgresión, por medio de las cuales se seleccionan y organizan las características que colocan al personaje de Alaíde como representante del ser humano con la libertad cercenada por rígidos valores que dictan el comportamiento en la sociedad. Se busca el significado de dichas categorías en el pensamiento de Michel Foucault, expresado en Historia de la sexualidad Vol. I La voluntad de saber (1993), desde una óptica social.

Trata-se de analisar, numa perspectiva comparativista, a representação do casamento, nas peças teatrais Vestido de noiva (1943) de Nelson Rodrigues e Bodas de sangre (1933) de Federico García Lorca, a fim de se verificar o tratamento dado pelos dois dramaturgos aos triângulos amorosos, denunciados durante a cerimônia de casamento dos protagonistas. Nelson Rodrigues mostra um cenário brasileiro em que se delineia um conflito vivenciado por mulheres da classe média burguesa e urbanizada de uma sociedade moderna. Em García Lorca desvendam-se os sentimentos amordaçados das mulheres espanholas em suas relações afetivas, em um espaço rural e conservador. As duas obras têm na paixão e na transgressão de imposições morais, religiosas e legais a fonte de todos os atritos, que resultam na morte de suas personagens principais. As duas Guerras Mundiais e a Guerra Civil espanhola marcam o tempo das tragédias pessoais na dramaturgia dos dois autores.

Abstract McCarthy and Lahiri-Dutt illuminate the menstrual experiences of women living in informal settlements in India. Beginning with a critique of menstrual hygiene management (MHM) and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) framings of women’s menstrual practices, they argue that these approaches ignore important spatial, social, and moral meanings attached to menstruating bodies in informal settlements. To substantiate their argument, McCarthy and Lahiri-Dutt take the reader into the jhuggīs and the lives of individual women who have migrated for work to the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) area in Delhi, India. The authors show how, despite the congested and cramped conditions, women traverse the structural deficits of informal living to reconfigure notions of privacy and to navigate changing gender relations.
