Full textLinguistic and cultural means are hardly available to the japanese students learning french in japan if they want to practice their french in france. They are not able to communicate properly because they lack basic vocabulary, a lack which has consequence on their competence, both linguistic and cultural. This competence is directly linked with the contents of their locally made language books which do not provide them with sufficient communicative tools, and with those of a universal method like le nouveau sans frontieres 1 (widely used by japanese beginners), which does not answer their needs either. Taking into account the part held by lexis in the general competence and the vocabulary deficiencies of japanese students, we suggest a methodological content which insists on words for the linguistic and cultural description and for a learning of basic communicative tools

Full textThis study is a textual analysis of the socio linguistic variation in the conversation of nine year olds with an adult. Six of the children belong to lower classes and six to middle or upper classes. As far as the syntactical organisation of the sentence is concerned, the two groups of texts are very closely related. However, if one considers conversational behavior, a strongly structured variation appears which associates the length of the turns and the way the text is constructed : the frequency and the position of cohesive elements, the alternation of narrative and commentative tenses, the type of conjunction used, and the selection of personal pronouns evolve interdependantly. The correlation between the child'social background and the type of text he produces leads us to conclude that linguistic variation depends on the status the child gives himself in an exchange with an adult and how he deals with conflictual relationships in class-room interactions

Full textDuring the course of their life cycle organisms are exposed to natural environment variations capable of inducing physiological, morphological and behaviour changes, thus a phenotypic plasticity. Phenotypic plasticity is the ability of a genotype to generate a new phenotype following exogeneous or endogeneous stress. Here, we investigated the phenotypic plasticity of the non-calcifying symbiotic cnidarian Anemonia viridis at multiple levels of structural complexity, in vivo and in vitro. In vivo, we determined the mechanisms behind the phenotypic plasticity under expected future climate change (i.e. ocean acidification and ocean warming). Our results show physiological changes in the inorganic carbon use of the sea anemone A. viridis exposed to high pCO2 during a long-term stress in natura or a short-term stress in controlled conditions. We then observed an equivalent decrease in carbonic anhydrase activity, a key enzyme of cnidarian carbon concentrating mechanisms. Also, we demonstrated that an increase in seawater temperature modified the response observed during a high pCO2 scenario. In vitro, we established a viable primary cell culture from regenerating tentacles of A. viridis. We determined the gastrodermal tissue origin of the cultivated cells and validated the use of this new tool to the in vitro study of stress response at the cellular level. The set-up of this powerful in vitro tool will open a multitude of perspectives for the study of cellular responses to exogeneous stress (as global change perturbations) and to endogeneous stress (as the symbiosis constraints experienced by symbiotic cnidarians)

Full textFrance is the largest European producer of malting barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) and the leading exporter of malt worldwide, accounting for 20% of world trade. French barley production has relied heavily on the use of synthetic inputs and has led, as other arable crops, to considerable environmental damage. The aim of this study is to design and evaluate crop and management ideotype adapted to a lower use of synthetic fertilizer. From a multi-environment trial, we conclude that the grain protein content and the calibrated yield (weight of grains >2.5 mm) have to be specifically improved in low-input management systems. We experimentally identified genotypic characteristics adapted to a low grain protein content loss and calibrated yield loss under N stress. With a crop model we adapted to malting barley, we also identified optimal N fertilization strategies allowing to reach high quantitative and qualitative performances whilst minimizing N losses toward the environment. Based on a precise characterization of environments the French barley belt, the best N fertilization strategies were identified for different regions. Finally, we identified new combinations of genotypic characteristics optimizing quantitative and qualitative performances in low management system. We showed that, in silico, a simultaneous adaptation of genotypic characteristics and optimization of N fertilization management allowed to reach similar performances as current genotypes in high-input management systems. We discuss methods to breed genotypes with high performances in low-input systems and the method used for innovative design of new management and barley malting cultivars adapted to low-input systems

Full textUntil a few decades ago, many personal and emotional skills had been underestimated by a rational logic, however, today they are being revalued and are required in most jobs. Different studies show that in certain contexts they are as or more influential than cognitive ones for the performance of a professional. That is why the present work seeks to know the scope of music therapy as an alternative tool for the development of certain soft soft skills, such as interpersonal communication in organizations in Lima, Peru. The methodology used in this research is qualitative. The information was obtained through semi-structured interviews with human resources professionals, psychologists and music therapists, to analyze their perceptions regarding the scope of this tool. In this way, the analysis of the literature was combined with the interviews with specialists. Among the main conclusions, we find that professionals from different fields agree that soft skills are part of the formula for success for any professional, both personal and work, and in turn they influence the organizational culture. The experts also considered that music therapy could be a way to develop these skills in collaborators of companies in Lima, Peru.

Full textJudo, the result of the sportification of jūdō* (a method developed in 1882 by J. Kano), is an institutionalized sport, not a martial art. By offering jūdō* to Sharing, Kano established a practice which was to be broadcasted worldwide. When referring to the dynamic analysis of globalization (Appadurai, 2001), judo is studied on a global (doing judo), local (doing a judo) and physical scale (making judo). Do judo is a matrix, common to all judokas around the world, which enables its members to identify each other, and also to distinguish themselves. The anthropological problematic of Sharing (Candau, 2000) shows how groups appropriate the judo specifically. Do a judo refers to the judo appropriated by a group, based on the socio-cultural context that acts as a filter, which enables them to adapt the matrix in order to adopt it. The comparison between judo practice in Orleans and "the Tenri" style illustrates how motor cultures are contextually built through specific material cultures. The dōjō* is designed as a network of actions in response to other people's actions and highlights the way judokas incorporate objects and shape themselves (as they are shaped by) through their relation to material and people. Make judo is the physical and personalized synthesis of the practice. Through contact with others, the judoka learns how to do judo: he integrates the material, masters matrix techniques and combines them in order to create his own system of attack and defence. A sensitive ethnography describes how objects that are integrated in an action are both substrates and effectors of the self-construction of the judoka. Finally, an ergonomic study of the training of the judokas and of the transmission of skills and expertise has been conducted. The aim is to introduce a sensory praxeological pedagogy into the teaching of judo in order to enhance interaction in the learning process

Full textAmong the fresh produce that can be grown in urban settings or in buildings, the production of nutrient-rich baby leafy vegetables or microgreens is booming. The management of fertilization applied to organic cultivation remains a major determinant of the agronomic performance of greenhouse crops and of product quality. In addition, several studies reported that biostimulants can lead to higher biomass and improve the quality of several vegetables and fruits by increasing nutrient uptake and plant resilience to abiotic and biotic stresses. However, little is known about the optimal fertilization and the benefits of adding biostimulants to organic growing media. Therefore, this project aimed to evaluate the effect of (1) 5 concentrations of organic fertilization (0%; 50%; 100%; 150%; 200%) for 3 growing media (without or with mycorrizae, seaweed and humates), (2) reusing the growing media and (3) 11 biostimulants (Bacillus pumilus, seaweed extract, triacontanol vermicompost, Trichoderma harzianum, humic acid, CaSiO3, insect fertilizer, frass and meal of Hermetia illucens and control) on 6 species of microgreens. The growing media had significant effects on plant biomass. The growing medium amended with mycorrhizae, algae and humic acids increased the total fresh and dry biomass of shiso, basil and lettuce, while no gain in productivity was observed for spinach and Swiss chard. For chicory, only the total dry biomass was increased. Spinach and Swiss chard had the highest biomass with 200% fertilization, while chicory, shiso, basil and lettuce achieved optimal yield with 100 and 150%. In general, a positive correlation was observed between yield, nutrient uptake and mineral availability. However, the nutrient use efficiency decreased with increasing rates of fertilization. The fertilization treatments had a significant effect on leaf NO3 content, which increased with N concentration. However, leaf NO3 content was within the standards of the European Commission EUn°1258/2011; 2000-7000 mg NO3/kg spinach according to species and seasons. When reusing the growing media, similar effects of fertilizer x growing medium treatments were observed. However, biostimulants had few significant effects on yield and the photobiological parameters. This could be explained by the short growth cycle, added to the lack of stress in the plants. Frass resulted in an increase in the biological activity of the growing medium compared with the control without any biostimulant, but reduced yield which could imply a possible immobilization and/or use of nutrients by soil microorganisms, while humic acid decreased the FDA.
