Abstract:
In the present research, long-range prediction of average summer monsoon rainfall over India has been attempted through three layered artificial neural network models. The study is based on the summer monsoon data pertaining to the years 1871–1999. Nineteen neural network models have been developed with variable hidden layer size. Total rainfall amounts in the summer monsoon months of a given year have been used as input and the average summer monsoon rainfall of the following year has been used as the desired output to execute a supervised backpropagation learning procedure. After a thorough training and test procedure, a neural network with eleven nodes in the hidden layer is found to be the most proficient in forecasting the average summer monsoon rainfall of a given year with the said predictors. Finally, the performance of the eleven-hidden-nodes three-layered neural network has been compared with the performance of the asymptotic regression technique. Ultimately it has been established that the eleven-hidden-nodes three-layered neural network has more efficacy than asymptotic regression in the present forecasting task.

Abstract:
Aims: The aims of this study were to: (1) examine the concurrent validity of self-rated health for mental and physical health in Europe; and (2) evaluate whether self-rated health predicts health problems differentially by gender. Methods: Data are from 19 European countries surveyed in the 2014 European Social Survey. We applied ordinary least squares regression to examine the association between self-rated health and summary indicators of physical and mental health problems. Results: We observed an association between self-rated health and both physical and mental health problems in all countries. Gender differences in the concurrent validity of self-rated health were documented in eleven out of 19 countries. Conclusions: Self-rated health is a valid and efficient measure of physical and mental health across the European continent, with significantly greater concurrent validity among women.

Abstract:
Introduction Pseudoaneurysm formation following ankle arthroscopy is a rare but potentially catastrophic complication. The placement of anterior ankle portals carries inherent risk to the superficial and deep peroneal nerves, as well as to the dorsalis pedis artery. Anatomical variations in the dorsalis pedis and the presence of branches at the joint line may increase the risk of vascular injury and pseudoaneurysm formation during arthroscopy. There is limited anatomical evidence available regarding the branches of the dorsalis pedis artery, which occur at the point at which they cross the ankle joint. Objectives The objective of the study was to describe the frequency and direction of branches of the dorsalis pedis crossing the ankle joint. Materials and Methods Nineteen cadaveric feet were carefully dissected to explore the course of the dorsalis pedis artery, noting in particular the branching pattern at the joint line. Results Eleven of the nineteen feet had a branch of the dorsalis pedis artery that crossed the level of the ankle joint. Out of these, six were lateral, four medial and one bilateral. Eight of the eleven specimens had one branch at, or just before, the level of the joint. Two specimens had two branches and one had three branches crossing the ankle, which were all in the same direction, crossing laterally to the main trunk of the dorsalis pedis. Conclusions Our study demonstrated high rates of branching of the dorsalis pedis artery at the level of the ankle joint. The role of these branches in pseudoaneurysm formation during anterior hindfoot surgery remains unclear.

Abstract:
Nineteen polymorphic and eleven monomorphic isozyme loci were identified in thirteen enzyme systems in a survey of four-hundred melon (Cucumis melo L.) accessions. Segregation of allozymes in F2 and backcross (BC) families for isozyme loci agreed with the expected 1:2:1 and 1:1 segregation ratios (P <0.01). Eleven isozyme loci were linked and were integrated to form a map containing two linkage groups spanning 98 cM with a mean linkage distance of ≈9 cM. Linkage groups (A and B) contain the following loci in the order: A Fdp-2, Pgd, Pgm, Mpi-1, Idh, and Ac, and B Pep-gl, Mdh-2, Mdh-4, Mdh-5, Mdh-6. The remaining eight loci (Acp-1, Acp-4, Ak-4, Fdp-1, Gpi, Mpi-2, Pep-la, and Pep-pap) segregated independently. The isozyme map constructed in this study provides genomic information for future linkage studies with economically important traits and concensus map construction through map merging.

Abstract:
We studied the EEG and Rorschach test (RT) of nineteen AIDS patients and eight normal people in the same age group. Eight patients presented slow alpha rhythms (8 to 9 Hz); three, not-slow alpha rhythms (>9 to 13Hz); and eight, beta rhythms in background activity. Paroxystic activity, characterized by diffuse theta or delta waves, was present in eleven patients. We observed Oberholzer syndrome (organic dementia diagnosed by RT) in ten patients and Piotrowski syndrome (organic dementia diagnosed by RT) in eleven patients; six presented both. When considering only the group of AIDS patients, we did not observe a significant relation among slow alpha rhythm, not-slow alpha rhythm and the presence of paroxystic activity with the above-mentioned syndromes. AIDS patients with slow alpha rhythms showed a significantly greater number of Piotrowski syndrome dementia indicators when compared to normal individuals or those with slow alpha rhythms. We did not observe the same with Oberholzer syndrome.

Abstract:
This study investigated the effect of applying “participant modeling” followed by a role play on grade eleven scientific students’ achievement and motivation in biology. Students usually face problems in understanding difficult biology concepts like Krebs cycle which is composed of a series of biochemical reactions with many molecules and compounds involved. The researcher designed t-shirts with information about the molecules and the reactions of Krebs cycle and students were asked to wear them throughout the teaching/learning process. Implementing participant modeling helped students to memorize the names of the molecules, their role. Then a role play was applied after modeling to relate the chemical reactions together. Nineteen students with ages ranging between 16 and 17 (N=19) enrolled in grade eleven scientific participated in this study. Data was collected using pre and post-achievement tests, and a motivation test that was implemented before and after the intervention. Results showed a significant enhancement in achievement, but no significant change occurred at the level of motivation. Ultimately, recommendations related to both methodology and future researches are offered.

Abstract:
Abstract Eleven-nineteen lysine-rich leukemia (ELL) genes produce protein factors that aid in transcription elongation. ELL1 was originally found as a fusion partner with MLL in some multiple lineage leukemias. ELL2 mRNA and protein are induced 6-fold in plasma cells. ELL1 and ELL2 are very similar except for 2 regions between amino acids 352 - 443 and 473 - 516, indicating that they may have different sets of interacting proteins. Yeast two-hybrid (Y2H) assays were performed to determine what proteins might interact with each ELL. ELL2, was subcloned into four main sections (A1, A2, B, and C) to determine specific locations of interaction. The C portion of ELL2, aa 516 to 640, autoactivated transcription in the Y2H and was not further analyzed. Meanwhile, the A1 region interacted with CEP192 (regulator of pericentriolar material recruitment, centrosome maturation, and centriole duplication in mammalian cells); the A2 region interacted with RP3 gene (XLRP gene 3), FIGNLI (new subfamily member of ATPases associated with diverse cellular activities); and the B region interacted with HIFIA (transcription factor found in mammalian cells under reduced oxygen tension that plays an essential role in hypoxia) and SEC63 (a translocation protein). Further mapping of the interactions of the ELLs may help us to clarify their functions in gene regulation and plasma cell development.

This study describes the frequencies of the first two formants of monophthongs produced by male RP speakers in four age groups: aged 20–25, 35–40, 50–55, and 65–73 years in 2001. The eleven monophthongs were spoken in /hVd/ contexts by five men in each age group. The eleven words, together with nineteen filler words chosen to distract attention from the purpose of the experiment, were randomized four times and read by each speaker in citation form, for a total of 880 items. F1 and F2 frequencies were measured in Hz and ERB-rate. As expected, in younger compared with older speakers, F1 is higher in /ε/ and especially /æ/, and F2 is higher in /u:/ and /υ/. Other vowels varied in overall dispersion of F1 or F2, but no other differences between age groups were observed. There is evidence that the oldest age group to show change in a vowel's quality has particularly large differences between individuals, so that, collectively, members of that group span much of the quality range from ‘conservative’ (older groups) to ‘progressive’ (younger groups). Such so-called ‘break groups’ have implications for theoretical explanations of sound change.

This paper covers nineteen Pt(II) complexes of the composition Pt(η3-X1X2X3)(PR3), (X = N1, N2, N3; S1, S2, S3; or Te1, Te2, Te3). These complexes crystallized in three crystal classes: triclinic (eleven examples), monoclinic (six examples), and orthorhombic (two examples). Each tridentate ligand creates two metallocyclic rings with common N2, S2, or Te2 donor ligands of the types N1C2N2C2N3, N1C2N2NC2N3, S1C2S2C2S3, S1C3S2C3S3, and Te1CNTe2NCTe3. The homotridentate ligand with monodentate PR3 ligand builds up a distorted square planar geometry about Pt(II) atoms. The degree of distortion ranges from 0.029 to 0.092, and the reason for the distortion is discussed. There is an example that contains two crystallographically independent molecules within the same crystal. This is a classic example of distortion isomerism.

Abstract:
The goal of this work was to clone, express, characterize and assemble a set of soluble thermostablecellulases capable of significantly degrading cellulose. We successfully cloned, expressed, and purified eleven Clostridium thermocellum (Cthe) cellulases and eight Acidothermuscellulolyticus(Acel) cellulases. The performance of the nineteen enzymes was evaluated on crystalline (filter paper) and amorphous (PASC) cellulose. Hydrolysis products generated from these two substrates were converted to glucose using beta-glucosidase and the glucose formed was determined enzymatically. Ten of the eleven Cthe enzymes were highly active on amorphous cellulose. The individual enzymes all produced <10% reducing sugar equivalents from filter paper. Combinations of Cthe cellulases gave higher conversions, with the combination of CelE, CelI, CelG, and CelK converting 34% of the crystalline cellulose. All eight Acel cellulases showed endo-cellulase activity and were highly active on PASC. Only Acel_0615 produced more than 10% reducing sugar equivalents from filter paper, and a combination of six Acel cellulases produced 32% conversion. Acel_0617, a GH48 exo-cellulase, and Acel_0619, a GH12 endo-cellulase, synergistically stimulated cellulose degradation by the combination of Cthe cellulases to almost 80%. Addition of both Acel enzymes to the Cthe enzyme mix did not further stimulate hydrolysis. Cthe CelG and CelI stimulated cellulose degradation by the combination of Acel cellulases to 66%.

Abstract:
Objectives: Economic evaluations, although not formally used in purchasing decisions for medical devices in Canada, are still being conducted and published. The aim of this study was to examine the way that prices have been included in Canadian economic evaluations of medical devices. Methods: We conducted a review of the economic concepts and implications of methods used for economic evaluations of the eleven most implanted medical devices from the Canadian perspective. Results: We found Canadian economic studies for five of the eleven medical devices and identified nineteen Canadian studies. Overall, the device costs were important components of total procedure cost, with an average ratio of 44.1 %. Observational estimates of the device costs were obtained from buyers or sellers in 13 of the 19 studies. Although most of the devices last more than 1 year, standard costing methods for capital equipment was never used. In addition, only eight studies included a sensitivity analysis for the device cost. None of the sensitivity analyses were based on actual price distributions. Conclusions: Economic evaluations are potentially important for policy making, but although they are being conducted, there is no standardized approach for incorporating medical device prices in economic analyses. Our review provides suggestions for improvements in how the prices are incorporated for economic evaluations of medical devices.

Abstract:
This study investigated the case of a nineteen-year-old female patient with chronic nausea, vomiting, and abdominal distension, who was diagnosed with CNVS and Spleen-Qi deficiency. Subjective symptoms were recorded with the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) every morning, and the Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale (GSRS) was used on the days of admission and discharge. For eleven days following admission, she took Bojungikki-tang-gagam and received acupuncture and moxibustion therapy. After three days of treatment, her nausea and vomiting ceased, and abdominal distension improved from NRS 3 to 0 after seven days of treatment. The GSRS score for the specific symptoms improved from 3 to 2; however, the total score remained largely unchanged (from 20 to 21). This case suggests that Korean medical treatment may improve CNVS.

Abstract:
Nineteen cultures of Ceratocystis ulmi were classified by mating type and growth rate in vitro. Eleven of the cultures contained double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) with 52% of the segments having molecular weights (MWs) ranging from 1.5 × 106 to 2.0 × 106. Eight of 11 fast-growing (aggressive) isolates contained one to five dsRNA segments with MWs ranging from 0.6 × 106 to 3.1 × 106, whereas 3 of 8 slower growing (nonaggressive) cultures had one or two dsRNA species with MWs ranging from 1.8 × 106 to 2.7 × 106. In addition, cultures with both A and B mating types were found to either contain or lack dsRNA. Thus, there was no clear association between the presence of dsRNA or specific components of dsRNA and aggressiveness or nuclear mating type in the cultures of C. ulmi examined in this study.

Monthly average daily global solar radiation data are essential for the design and study of solar energy systems. The performance and accuracy of eleven models for the estimation of monthly average global solar radiation were compared in this study. Nineteen months (Nov 2020 – May 2022) ground measurement data consisting of monthly mean daily sunshine duration, relative humidity, minimum and maximum temperatures, and global solar radiation collected from the Lawra Solar Plant were used. The models were compared using statistical indices. According to the indices, most of the models were in reasonably good agreement with the measured data. Two model equations, however, were found to have the highest accuracy and can thus be used to estimate monthly average global solar radiation in Lawra and other places with similar climatic conditions where radiation data is unavailable.

Objective: identifying the instruments used to measure quality of life during menopausal transition and post-menopause in women with obesity or overweight. Methods: a systematic search using the Embase, Pubmed and Cochrane databases, and the following key-words: menopause/climacteric, quality of life, overweight/obesity. Nineteen papers that fulfilled the including criteria were found. Results: eighteen studies using generic health questionnaires (global quality of life) were identified, six of them were specific for menopause and one specific for obesity. Eleven studies used generic questionnaires, while only eight questionnaires were specific for menopause. Conclusion: there was no consensus in the literature about the use of quality of life questionnaires in women with overweight and obesity in climacterium, which makes de comparison and reproducibility of the results difficult. This is an alert about the need for standardization to better evaluate this specific population.

PURPOSE To assess the utility of surveillance neuroimaging in detecting recurrent disease in patients treated for medulloblastoma. PATIENTS AND METHODS Records and scans of 59 consecutive patients treated for medulloblastoma between 1984 and 1993 in one institution were retrospectively reviewed. RESULTS Nineteen of 59 patients had recurrence of tumor, of which 17 were available for this study. Eleven of the 17 recurrent patients were asymptomatic at the time of detection. The median time to recurrence was 13 months (range, 3 to 90). CONCLUSION Surveillance scanning detected a majority of recurrences before onset of symptoms. Although the outcome of those with recurrent disease remains poor, early detection with minimum disease provides the best setting in which to test newer therapies. Patients and their parents also were more likely to elect pursuing further treatment when relapse was detected asymptomatically.

Abstract:
In the First World War, the Austro-Hungarian Empire was a part of the Central Powers. As from 1916, the Empire had been very keen for the war to end. The Austro-Hungarian Empire, which was deprived of the financial power to continue the war and faced with the demands of independence from the minorities before and during the war, approached the armistice proposals very positively that could end the war in 1916 and 1917. In mid-June 1918, the failure of the attack launched by the Austro-Hungarian troops against the Italian troops and the superiority of the Allied Powers over Germany on the western front in July-August put the situation of the Central Powers in the European fronts in trouble, and after the successful attack launched by the Italian troops on 24 October, there was no possibility for Austria-Hungary to continue the war. The Austro-Hungarian Empire withdrew from the First World War by signing an armistice with Italy on 3 November 1918 at Villa Giusti del Giardino outside the city of Padova. The armistice contained very harsh terms and severely limited the empire in every respect. The Armistice of Villa Giusti consisted of two chapters and nineteen clauses including eight military and eleven naval and maritime provisions. The additional protocol of the armistice consisted of two chapters and nineteen clauses, ten of which were military and nine of which were related to the naval forces and maritime affairs.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Oenanthe javanica is a vegetable grown in East Asia and Australia in which the roots and aerial parts are boiled together to make certain traditional dishes. Nineteen compounds (1-19) were isolated from O. javanica roots and the chemical structures of 2 new norlignans were determined. The inhibitory effects of the compounds on hyaluronidase and degranulation in RBL-2H3 cells were evaluated to determine antiallergic and antiinflammation activities. Saponins (2-4) and the new norlignan seric acid G (12) were among the active compounds identified. Seric acid G (12), a methoxy derivative of seric acid F (11), was obtained as an interconverting mixture of 3:1 trans-cis isomers. Seric acids F and G (11, 12) were derived from seric acids C (10) and E, respectively, by decarboxylation and dehydration reactions that occurred during heating. It was confirmed by HPLC analysis that all eleven of the O. javanica cultivars contained seric acid C (10).

Background. Staphylococcus lugdunensis is one of the clinically important coagulase-negative staphylococci. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the microbiological features of S. lugdunensis in hospitalized children. Methods. From January 2012 to December 2019, all isolates were retrospectively screened for S. lugdunensis. Results. Twenty-five children were eligible for study. Nineteen and six children were classified into a critical care unit group (Group A) and a general medical ward group (Group B), respectively. The prevalence of methicillin-resistant S. lugdunensis was significantly higher in Group A than in Group B (68.4% vs 0%; P < .01). Eleven children (44%) had S. lugdunensis infections, while the remaining children were colonized. Six of the 11 infected children (55%) had healthcare-associated infections. Moreover, 3 isolates exhibited the methicillin resistance. Conclusions. The bacteriological characteristics of S. lugdunensis differ depending on patient background. Selection of antibiotic treatment should in part rely on patient background data.

Abstract:
Taxonomic revisions are the most reliable pathway in unfolding new species to the world. During such a revision of the genus Lagenandra in Sri Lankan, we came across two new species: Lagenandra kalugalensis and Lagenandra srilankensis from the Wet Zone of Sri Lanka. The two new species were studied in detail and compared with the morphology of the other species described in the genus, and based on field collected data conservation assessments were performed. A detailed description for the two new species and an updated taxonomic key to the Sri Lankan Lagenandra is presented here for easy identification. Recognizing two new endemic members enhances the number of Sri Lankan species of Lagenandra to eleven and global to nineteen. According to the IUCN red data category guidelines, L. kalugalensis qualifies for Critically Endangered category under Criterion B1ab (ii,iii,v) + B2ab (ii,iii,v) while L. srilankensis qualifies for Critically Endangered category under B1ab (iii, iv) + C2 (a) (i, ii). Hence, immediate conservation measures are imperative.

Abstract:
We surveyed the avifauna of Alto do Palácio, Serra do Cipó National Park, Minas Gerais state, Brazil. The park lies in the southern Espinhaço range, a significant biogeographical barrier that separates the forest areas of the Atlantic Forest on its eastern slope and the savanna-like vegetation of the Cerrado to its western slope. Representative habitats include open grasslands, with patches of rocky outcrops and woodlands. We recorded 151 species between 2007 and 2010. Most species occurred in woodlands, with the minority in rocky outcrops, eleven species are of conservation concern, nineteen are endemic to the Atlantic Forest, three to Cerrado, and four to the southeastern Brazilian mountaintops, two of which are restricted to campos rupestres of the Espinhaço range. Our results corroborate that the campos rupestres of the Espinhaço range are not only associated with the Cerrado biome, but harbor species associated with both surrounding biomes (Cerrado and Atlantic Forest) and to the mountaintops of southeastern Brazil, supporting the uniqueness of this vegetation type.

Abstract:
EEN (extra eleven nineteen), also known as EA2 (endophilin A2), a fusion partner of the MLL (mixed-lineage leukaemia) gene in human acute leukaemia, is a member of the endophilin A family, involved in the formation of endocytic vesicles. We present evidence to show that EEN/EA2 is localized predominantly in nuclei of various cell lines of haemopoietic, fibroblast and epithelial origin, in contrast with its reported cytoplasmic localization in neurons and osteoclasts, and that EEN/EA2 exhibits nucleocytoplasmic shuttling. During the cell cycle, EEN/EA2 shows dynamic localization: it is perichromosomal in prometaphase, co-localizes with the bipolar spindle in metaphase and anaphase and redistributes to the midzone and midbody in telophase. This pattern of distribution coincides with changes in protein levels of EEN/EA2, with the highest levels being observed in G2/M-phase. Our results suggest that distinct subcellular localization of the endophilin A family members probably underpins their diverse cellular functions and indicates a role for EEN/EA2 in the cell cycle.

In this study, nineteen different Streptomyces strains were isolated from oil-contaminated surface soil at Ataş Oil Terminal in Turkey. Biodegradation and Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism tests (RFLP) were used for selecting isolates. The isolates belonging to the genus Streptomyces were confirmed by 16S rDNA analysis. 1592r, 1492r, 800r, 518f, and 27f primers were chosen for the 16S rDNA gene amplifying and sequencing. Then 93-unit characters were used to determine phenotypic, physiological, and biochemical properties. All strains can degrade Tween 80, casein, gelatin, hypoxanthine, RNA, L-Tyrosine, elastin. Nevertheless, EL039, EL045, and EL060 soil isolates have better degradation potentials because of gave positive results to eleven degradation tests. According to the obtained results, EL037, EL039, EL060 could be a member of S. albogriseolus, S. rochei, S. mutabilis, respectively, and the phylogenetic tree and characterization tests indicated that especially, EL038, EL045, EL057 could be new members of Streptomyces genus. We perceive that the Streptomyces isolates would benefit biotechnological studies thanks to the degradation enzyme potentials.

Abstract:
Nineteen patients with collateral ligament avulsion fractures from the metacarpal heads of the fingers were treated during a 6 year period. Seven undisplaced fractures were initially treated conservatively. Four united with full movement. Three required internal fixation for symptomatic non-union and healed without problems. Eleven patients with displaced fractures were treated by primary internal fixation using a single lag screw through a dorsal approach. Seven of these achieved a full range of movement of the injured digit by 3 months. Four patients failed to regain full flexion of the metacarpophalangeal joint. One patient with a displaced and comminuted fracture was treated with internal fixation at 8 weeks when the fragment had consolidated. As with similar fractures from the proximal phalangeal bases, these fractures are prone to non-union when treated conservatively, even when undisplaced. If fixation becomes necessary, the delay of a trial of conservative treatment does not appear to affect the outcome. Internal fixation of displaced fractures allows gentle mobilisation and facilitates union.

Abstract:
Over one quarter of all global deaths are caused by heart disease. Heart disease takes the lives of nineteen million people every year, making it the major cause of death. The risks of cardiovascular disease have been steadily rising across the globe over the past thirty years and COVID-19 has only exacerbated the predicament. Curing heart disease is a very expensive task, and thus a prediction is necessary. This study seeks to review the accuracy and accessibility of three models that are commonly used to predict decisions, which are Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, and Random Forest. Each method is used to fit models using data with 70000 cases and eleven variables. The accuracy rates for the Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, and Random Forest are 0.54, 0.56, and 0.51, respectively. Through a comparison, the Random Forest model is superior to the other models with the smallest misclassification error. Nevertheless, it does not have the accessibility that the other two regressions possess.

Abstract:
In accord with her concept of constructing ‘workshops for enlightening and educating the society’ Professor Alodia Kawecka-Gryczowa was very keen on popularizing book history. Little wonder then that she let no opportunity pass to talk on the radio or the television about old prints, the National Library, or about books in general. The bibliography of her works prepared by A. M. Wolińska includes among other eight such programmes for the years 1974–1985, although Wolińska notices that, there must have been more. This statement found substantiation in the ‘Grycz papers’ bequeathed to the National Library – the folder Akc. 17978 holds typescripts of eleven radio and television programmes broadcast between 1950 and 1968, and two other with no dating. Unfortunately, the data provided by these papers does not allow a for more detailed historical description of these programmes, their dates of emission, length and producers. Neither can one find in this folder the screen-plays of the programmes listed by A. M. Wolińska, with the sole exception of the radio broadcast devoted to the printer Wietor, emitted in 1950. All the other materials come from the nineteen-fifties and the nineteen-sixties, which explains why they are not present in the Archives of the Polish Radio and Television – being either never recorded, or the tapes had been destroyed. The aforementioned folder also contains a number of catalogue cards on which one finds titles and shelf-marks of books, which were utilized by Gryczowa in her cooperation with the radio and television, although it is difficult to ascertain that all these books were gathered for programmes, in which Professor Gryczowa took part personally.

Abstract:
Telerehabilitation, consisting of supervised home-based exercise training via real-time videoconferencing, is an alternative method to deliver pulmonary rehabilitation with potential to improve access. The aims were to determine the level of satisfaction and experience of an eight-week supervised home-based telerehabilitation exercise program using real-time videoconferencing in people with COPD. Quantitative measures were the Client Satisfaction Questionnaire-8 (CSQ-8) and a purpose-designed satisfaction survey. A qualitative component was conducted using semi-structured interviews. Nineteen participants (mean (SD) age 73 (8) years, forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) 60 (23) % predicted) showed a high level of satisfaction in the CSQ-8 score and 100% of participants reported a high level of satisfaction with the quality of exercise sessions delivered using real-time videoconferencing in participant satisfaction survey. Eleven participants undertook semi-structured interviews. Key themes in four areas relating to the telerehabilitation service emerged: positive virtual interaction through technology; health benefits; and satisfaction with the convenience and use of equipment. Participants were highly satisfied with the telerehabilitation exercise program delivered via videoconferencing.

Abstract:
Abstract EEN (extra eleven nineteen) gene located on chromosome 19p13 was cloned as a fusion with MLL from an acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient with translocation t(11;19)(q23;p13). In this study, we characterized the genomic structure of EEN gene including its 5′ regulatory region and transcription start site (TSS). We found that Sp1 could bind to the GC-stretch of EEN promoter and was critical for the normal EEN expression, while the leukemia associated fusion protein AML1-ETO could aberrantly transactivate EEN gene through an AML1 binding site. Of note, overexpressed EEN showed oncogenic properties, such as transforming potential in NIH3T3 cells, stimulating cell proliferation and increasing the activity of transcriptional factor AP-1. Retroviral transduction of EEN increased self-renewal and proliferation of murine hematopoietic progenitor cells. Moreover, Kasumi-1 and HL60 cell growth was inhibited with down regulation of EEN by RNAi. These findings demonstrate that EEN might be a common target in two major types of AML associated with MLL or AML1 translocations, and over-expression of EEN may play an essential role in leukemogenesis.

Abstract:
Objective. Increasing macrolide resistant strains ofMycoplasma genitaliumis a challenge, and to differentiate between treatment failure and reinfection a timely test of cure (TOC) is warranted. The aim of this study was to evaluate the best time for TOC after five days’ treatment ofMycoplasma genitaliuminfection with azithromycin.Methods. Nineteen patients with positive PCR forMycoplasma genitaliumin urine provided urine samples daily for 2 weeks and on days 21, 28, and 35. Samples were tested by a commercial qPCR and by sequencing of the 23S rRNA gene.Results. Eight patients with a wild type ofMycoplasma genitaliumresponded successfully within four days after treatment initiation. Eleven patients had a mutation in the 23S rRNA gene. These samples exhibited high variations in bacterial load, and some patients tested negative at several time points during the observation period.Conclusions. Day-to-day fluctuations in the mutation samples allow for false negative TOC during the first 5 weeks after start of treatment. Due to increasing macrolide resistance ofMycoplasma genitalium, pretreatment mutation analysis is recommended. When a wild type is verified, TOC performed one week after initiation of treatment is suggested.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTThis study sought to identify factors which influenced how a group of people with dementia living in their own homes participated in community-based physical activity and explored the effect that exercise groups, dance and walking had on their wellbeing. A broadly ethnographic approach was adopted in which participant observation and interviews were employed. Nineteen people with dementia and seven formal and informal carers were included in the participant observation phase. Eleven people with dementia were interviewed. The analysis and interpretation of data was informed by embodiment and social constructionist theoretical perspectives. Findings suggest that a complex interplay between attitudes and beliefs, retained embodied abilities, and aspects of the physical and social environment influenced how individuals engaged in physical activity and the degree to which they experienced wellbeing as a result. Findings suggest that when certain factors co-exist, physical activity can provide a context within which people with dementia are able to use embodied skills in order to support fragile identities, connect with others and express themselves.

Abstract:
Eleven-nineteen leukemia (ENL) contains an epigenetic reader domain (YEATS domain) that recognizes lysine acylation on histone 3 and facilitates transcription initiation and elongation through its interactions with the super elongation complex (SEC) and the histone methyl transferase DOT1L. Although it has been known for its role as a fusion protein in mixed lineage leukemia (MLL), overexpression of native ENL, and thus dysregulation of downstream genes in acute myeloid leukemia (AML), has recently been implicated as a driver of disease that is reliant on the epigenetic reader activity of the YEATS domain. We developed a peptide displacement assay (histone 3 tail with acylated lysine) and screened a small-molecule library totaling more than 24,000 compounds for their propensity to disrupt the YEATS domain–histone peptide binding. Among these, we identified a first-in-class dual inhibitor of ENL ( Kd = 745 ± 45 nM) and its paralog AF9 ( Kd = 523 ± 53 nM) and performed “SAR by catalog” with the aim of starting the development of a chemical probe for ENL.
