Abstract:
This research discusses the history of Japanese railways and the factors causing the progress of railways in Japan. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data collection technique used in this research is a literature study or literature review. The data in this research were taken from journals, books, documentation, internet and literature that discussed the topic being researched. The results of this study are the history of Japanese railways starting in 1872 at the beginning of Japan's new era, namely the Meiji era. Japan learned the rail system from England. Initially, the railroads in Japan were under the auspices of one company, namely JNR, due to go into liquidation, Japan was forced to make JNR a private company, JNR changed its name to JR and is divided into 9 companies to this day. While the factor for the advancement of Japanese railways is Japan's long experience in the world of railways, which is more than 150 years, Japan dares to take risks in the development of railways, Japan is able to overcome competition with private railroad companies, and finally, the Japanese people are disciplined and punctual.

Abstract:
AbstractThis article explores the U.S. career of the Dutch immigrant violinist Jacques Oliveira. Following successful performances in Britain, Oliveira sailed for the United States in the fall of 1859. Under P.T. Barnum's management, the twenty-three-year-old became a fixture on New York's theatrical scene, as an instrumental soloist with Tom Thumb's company, with the Drayton Parlor Opera troupe, and with Hooley and Campbell's Minstrels. After a year, he traveled south, settling in occupied New Orleans, where he had family connections. Despite the economic difficulties of the time, he soon became an important figure in the city's cultural life, only to die during an outbreak of cholera and yellow fever in the summer of 1867.In the absence of letters or diaries, the article relies heavily on close examination of period newspapers, city directories and census data to reconstruct Oliveira's world. Oliveira's activities, his successes and struggles, offer insights into the place of the working musician, newly arrived in the Unites States in the late 1850s. Examining the events of his life enables us to contrast cultural life in New York and New Orleans at the time of the Civil War. The article illuminates the place of the instrumentalist in the theater, reveals how attitudes toward music were influenced by a cultural hierarchy, provides insights into the place of the violin in the musical life of the United States, and examines the impact of the Civil War on musical life in New Orleans.

Unlike edward cameron dimock, Henry David Thoreau never traveled to India, but he imagined Yankee merchant ships transporting ice blocks from Walden Pond to New Orleans and Calcutta, where the pure Walden water would mingle with the sacred water of the Ganges. Less romantically, one can imagine the Walden ice mingling with British gin and tonic in clubs of the East India Company. In our own time, Ed Dimock has brought America and India together in more significant ways. I'm delighted that he is in New Orleans today—honoring him seems a wonderful way of celebrating ourselves on this fiftieth anniversary of the Association for Asian Studies.

Abstract:
The digital transformation of transport systems is one of the priority areas of the country’s strategic development, and requires joint participation and interaction of the state, transport industry enterprises, innovative companies - developers of new technologies and equipment. Constant price pressures and growing customer demands for product and service quality complicate the challenges faced by rail organizations. All these organizations, and first of all JSC Russian Railways, within the framework of the ongoing structural reform, cannot increase the efficiency of their activities using the traditional set of technological, organizational and management solutions to reduce costs for all business processes and divisions of the company. The current state of the Russian economy already allows us to note positive shifts in the field of digitalization. The digitalization of transport as one of the social sectors, the use of modern technical means and programs, makes it possible to increase the efficiency of the transport complex, to ensure high quality services. The authors considered digital technologies in JSC “Russian Railways” used to increase flexibility, efficiency and quality of service provision. The key electronic platforms used by Russian Railways in its work are presented. Disclosed telematic systems used in railway transport to improve safety. Abstract:
Changes in the Russian and global economies have been affecting all sectors. Neither the transport industry nor the construction one is an exception. These industries are budget-forming, and all participants in business processes should be interested in their strategic development. In order for the federal projects developed by the Ministry of Transport to be effective, a new project funding approach is required. Industries and companies have limited financial resources. The Russian Railways company is no exception due to its limited budgetary funds and own financial capabilities. It is necessary to develop effective mechanisms for funding railway infrastructure projects. Project funding mechanisms can be innovative ways of funding large-scale infrastructure projects, since they are based on a combination of banking, commercial and public resources. Project funding can unite financial resources and competences of project participants. In addition, qualified financial institutions will be involved in project funding transactions, which ensures the timely project implantation. Project funding mechanisms allow for a comprehensive project assessment, since the lender confirms the economic feasibility of the project. Project effectiveness evaluation has become relevant after the adoption of a strategy for the development of railway transport in the Russian Federation until 2030. Polygon technologies are promising for Russian Railways and used by the Trans-Siberian Railways.

Abstract:
In every business, the production of knowledge, coming from the process of effective information, is recognized as a strategic asset and source of competitive advantage. In the field of railways, a vast amount of data are produced, which is necessary to be assessed, deployed in an optimum way, and used as a mechanism, which will lead to making the right decisions, aiming at saving resources and maintain the fundamental principle of the railways which is the passengers’ safety. This paper uses stored-inactive data from a Greek railway company, and uses the method of data mining and applies machine learning techniques to create strategic decision support and draw up a risk and control plan for trains. We make an effort to apply Machine Learning open source software (Weka) to the obsolete procedures of maintenance of the rolling stock of the company (hand-written work orders from the supervisors to the technicians, dealing with the dysfunctions of a train unit by experience, the lack of planning and coding of the malfunctions and the maintenance schedule). Using the J48 and M5P algorithms from the Weka software, data are recorded, processed, and analyzed that can help monitor or discover, with great accuracy, the prevention of possible damage or stresses, without the addition of new recording devices—monitoring on trains, with the aim of predicting the diagnosis of the train fleet. The innovative method is capable of being used as a tool for the optimization of the management’s performance of the trains to provide the appropriate information for the implementation of planning and the technical ability of the trains in order to achieve the greatest target of importance for the railways, which is the passengers’ safety.

Abstract:
Historical Survey of the Railway Development in West Africa The present day railway system in West Africa is the result of the transport-policy developed by the colonial powers (France, Great Britain and Germany) at the end of the 19th century. It is remarkable that no network of railways, like in Southern Africa, was brought about. The colonial railways in West Africa were built by the State or by a joint-stock company within the borders of one colony to export the raw materials from the production centres to the harbours. Nevertheless railways were built for more than economical grounds only, in West Africa they had to accomplish a strategic and military role by “opening Africa for the European civilization”. Hargreaves calls railways the “heralds of new imperialism” and Baumgart speaks of the own dynamics of the railways, to push the European colonial powers further into Africa ... The construction of a railway needed a very high capital investment and the European capitalists wouldn’t like to take risks in areas that were not yet “pacified”. It is remarkable how many projects to build a Transcontinental railway right across the Sahara desert largely remained on paper. Precisely because such plans did not materialize, however, the motive force they provided to such imperialist actions as political-territorial annexations can be traced all the more clearly. The French built the first railway in West Africa, the Dakar - St-Louis line (Senegal), between 1879 and 1885. This line stimulated the production of ground-nuts, although the French colonial-military lobby has had other motives. The real motivation became very clear at the construction of the Kayes-Bamako railway. Great difficulties needed the military occupation of the region and the violent recruitment of thousands of black labourers, all over the region. The same problems transformed the building of the Kayes-Dakar line into a real hell. Afterwards the Siné Saloum region has been through a “agricultural revolution”, when the local ground-nuts-producers have been able to produce for foreign markets. The first British railways were built in Sierra Leone and the Gold Coast-colony (Ghana). Jn Nigeria railway construction stimulated the growth of Lagos as an harbour and administrative centre. Lugard had plans for the unification of Nigeria by railways. The old Hausa town of Kano flourished after the opening of the Northern Railway, for other towns a period of decline had begun. Harbour cities and interior railwayheads caused an influx of population from periphery regions, the phenomenon is called “port concentration”. Also the imperial Germany built a few railwaylines in their former colony Togo, to avoid the traffic flow off to the British railways. ifs quite remarkable that the harbours at the Gulf of Guinea-coast developed much later than the harbours of Senegal and Sierra Leone. After the First World War only a few new railways were constructed, the revenues remained very low, so the (colonial) state had to take over many lines. The competition between railways and roadtransport demonstrated the first time in Nigeria, it was the beginning of the decline of railways as the most important transportsystems in West Africa. Only multinational companies built specific railways for the export of minerals (iron, ore and bauxite) after the Second World War, and the French completed the Abidjan - Ouagadougou railway (1956). The consequences of railway construction in West Africa on economic, demographic and social sphere were not so far-reaching as in Southern Africa, but the labour migration and the first labour unions of railwaymen who organized strikes in Senegal and the Ivory Coast mentioned the changing social situation. The bibliography of the West African railways contains very useful studies about the financial policy of the railway companies and the governments, but only a few railways were already studied by economic historians.

Abstract:
A one-session smoking-cessation workshop was offered in conjunction with a self-help manual and smoking discouragement program to 9 employees of a coal transfer company located south of New Orleans. The workshop consisted of 1 ½ hours of lecture in which the participants agreed to sign a contract stating that they would not smoke for six months. Participants also agreed to put up a financial incentive that was matched by the company to be paid to those individuals who went 6 mo. without smoking. The smoking-discouragement program consisted of the placement of humorous antismoking posters throughout the worksite emphasizing the advantages of quitting. Three of the 9 participants were still not smoking at a 6-mo. follow-up. The relatively low cost involved in this study indicates that such an approach to smoking-cessation at the worksite is quite cost effective.

Abstract:
AbstractLiberalisation of railway market can be an important instrument for increasing the attractiveness of local rail services and consequently for making the railways more competitive with other means of transport, which could result in changing the modal share in the favour of railways. The differences in the railway liberalisation level as well as in the policies towards rail transport between Central and Eastern European countries are vast, hence the present situation and the future prospects of regional services are diverse. Whereas there is only one railway line in Slovakia which is not operated by the state railway company ZSSK, a few private local connections which complement a very dense network of ČD state railways are in service in the Czech Republic. Poland, by contrast, is a country where liberalisation of railway market is most advanced as several different companies are responsible for transport in the regions. However, the results of this large scale liberalisation are ambiguous as the positive effects (reopening of some lines) are balanced by isolation of the new regional government-owned systems from each other. In Austria, by contrast, the existence of several private and regional government-owned local railways which are an indispensable part of the regional transport networks has contributed to maintain an effective transport system. Although the effects of liberalisation on the local railway networks can often be ambiguous, several cases from the Czech Republic, Austria and Poland show that privatisation and municipalisation may have a positive effect on the railway service as it has enabled to maintain the service on many sections which were at risk of closure. However, the most important condition of the effective transport development seems to be an active cooperation between the railway operators and the local governments as an expression of appropriate transport policy.

This paper recounts some experiences on the Western Front of two men who had worked at the Ipswich Railway Workshops before the First World War. Lt. Colonel A. C. Fewtrell , who trained as a cadet engineer at Ipswich Railway Workshops, and was involved in the operations of a light railway unit on the Western Front presented a paper about his experiences to some graziers in New South Wales in 1920. Major S. H. Hancox had been in charge of the powerhouse at Ipswich Railway Workshops before enlisting and being sent to France where he worked on the construction of a section of the 60 cm gauge light railways during 1917. Hancox relates some of the horrific conditions he encountered through letters to his mother in Brisbane. In 1916, the British adopted the 60 cm gauge light railway system which was already being successfully used by both the Germans and the French. The British introduced the Hunslet 4-6-0T locomotives, many hundreds of other steam and early internal combustion locomotives as well as thousands of wagons providing a solution to maintaining the necessary supplies to the front lines. Following the end of the War, fifteen Hunslet locomotives built for use in France came to Queensland for use in the sugar industry. Hunslet Engine Company Works Number 1239, delivered to France in late 1916, was one of those Hunslet locomotives. We briefly follow the history of No.1239 after its delivery to Australia in 1920 and donation to the Queensland Museum in 2005.

Abstract:
The article attempts to investigate the economic preconditions for the formation of the main electric locomotive industry in Ukraine on the example of diversification of production activities of the State Holding Company «Luhanskteplovoz». It is determined that in the late 1980`s, in the absence of convertible currency for the import of traction rolling stock, Luhanskteplovoz received an order from the USSR Ministry of Railways for the development and production of electric freight and passenger locomotives of its own design. However, after 1991, due to the strategy of the Ministry of Railways of the Russian Federation to support the domestic market of main electric locomotives, and especially the lobbying of the renewed Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine regarding the direction of investments to create a state monopoly corporation on the basis of low-power SPA «Dnipropetrovsk locomotive plant», diversification of production activities of OJSC «Luhanskteplovos» focused on a less promising direction of development of production of railcars for social purposes. It is argued that due to the low quality of products caused by the lack of sustainable funding and sound experience in the development of mainline equipment, the order of electric locomotives of SPC «Elektrovozobuduvannia» (SPA«DEVZ») was stopped. Instead, the localization and further development of industrial production at the facilities of HC «Luhanskteplovoz» of new generation freight electric locomotives, created on the basis of design and technological products of LLC «Novocherkassk electric locomotive plant», allowed the company in a short time to significantly increase the growth rate of production and expand cooperation with «Ukrzaliznytsia».

Abstract:
The article delves into the development of the transport and logistical infrastructure on the Far Eastern frontier of the Russian Empire during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Throughout the period under study, challenges that emerged in the trade relations between Russia and China led to the creation of a new freight transport system for Russian-Chinese trading. This system proposed the integration of rail and maritime communication, with a sea port acting as the central logistical hub. This vision materialized with the construction of Russian railways in Manchuria, the leasing of Port Russian Dalian on the Liaodong Peninsula, and the initiation of maritime shipping by the China Eastern Railway Company. The article aims to systematically investigate the foundational concepts and the actualization of each segment of this new infrastructure. The research uncovered that the railways, sea port, and maritime shipping orchestrated by the Russian Empire in the Far East were viewed as cohesive elements of a unified trade and transport corridor. This corridor’s primary goal was to forge an effective linkage with the Pacific region. The data assessed in the study indicates that the Chinese ports and market stood as the foremost objectives for Russia’s geoeconomic pursuits in the Far East. In conclusion, the study underscores the importance of these novel infrastructural developments in the frontier modernization of the Far Eastern boundary shared by Russia and China.

Abstract:
The opening of the Blaauwkrantz Bridge in 1884 was an important link in the completion of the railway line-between Grahamstown and Port Alfred. This line proved a boon to farmers of the area and to businessmen in Grahamstown and Port Alfred. For the private company who built the line, however, it was not a financial success, and in 1913 it was taken over by the South African Railways and integrated into their railway system. Unable to cope with the increased traffic and the heavier rolling stock, the original Blaauwkrantz Bridge was eventually replaced by a new one. The old bridge, however, is still remembered for a railway disaster in April 1911 in which twenty eight people were killed.

Abstract:
The size and content of consumer value (CV) of the service for the transportation of passengers by the railways ofUkrainein long-distance communication by nighttime and daytime trains is determined. A comparison is made of the results of two approaches to researching the attitude of customers to the service – traditional (point-based) and new, taking into account the specific requirements of the total management of the customer value of the service. The directions of the managerial impact of CV on the passenger transportation in long-distance communication by the railways ofUkrainebased on the attitude of customers to the disadvantages and advantages of this service are determined. In three focus groups, discussions were held about travel by Ukrainian railways by daytime and nighttime trains. Based on the results, a list of the disadvantages and advantages that form the consumer value of such a transport service is formed. The list of 19 positive and negative statements reflected all stages of the trip by rail. Behind it, the Likert scale and the corresponding form for conducting an interview were developed. The number of respondents is 823. The sample is random. The results of the polls confidently prove that the prejudiced attitude of passengers towards daytime transportation has been overcome. The ratio of passengers of the railways ofUkrainein daytime transportation in long-distance traffic is better than in nighttime. Only one fifth of those traveling daytime and nighttime are fully satisfied with the level of advantages and disadvantages, which is not enough for most customers to make repeat purchases. However, such a hypothesis needs to be verified in future studies. The feeling of satisfaction among passengers of daytime trains with a positive value of consumer value does not arise in 29 %, which is a threat to the railway operator company. Women are generally worse off on transportation services than men. Personal experience using the train in general does not affect the attitude. However, the experience of using a nighttime train significantly reduces the consumer value of the transport service. The main conclusion is that when several customer segments are served simultaneously in a common space, the total management of the customer value of the service and the corresponding research methods are productive.

Abstract:
The analysis of the stages of development of industrial production by human society based on the well-known concept of four industrial revolutions has resulted in retrospection of technical and technological development of railways during the periods between the industrial revolutions in terms of core rail engineering systems (infrastructure, rolling stock, control and management system), as well as contributed to outline prospects for foreseeable period. It has allowed to identify main directions of technical and technological development of productive forces characteristic of the fourth industrial revolution. The objective of the research was to identify those directions that are appropriate to be applied in relation to rail transport as well as to choose a few specific technical and technological solutions. In the field of digitalisation, it is proposed to focus on development and implementation of intelligent management systems for each workplace or of intelligent workplaces (IWP), which ensure development of optimal solutions for numerous operational tasks fulfilled by the dispatchers on duty at railway facilities. It has been determined that for a case of a large rail company like JSC Russian Railways creation of managers’ IWPs should be based on the scale and generality of the tasks solved at numerous similar managed objects since, for example, the number of dispatching sections reaches more than 400, the number of stations and simultaneously moving trains is of several thousand, and of train sheds and infrastructure sections is of several hundred, etc. This allows creating standard systems that are further replicated for specific workplaces while considering local specifics.Intelligent systems integrate as important elements fast-growing production of increasingly miniaturised, and to be underlined, constantly cheaper sensors, capable today of being built into almost any objects that in terms of railways comprise, for example, a wheel of a wagons or of a locomotive, engines, rails, any wagons or containers. This allows continuously monitoring the current state of any objects, as well as their nodes resulting in fundamentally new opportunities for reducing the cost of maintenance of rolling stock and infrastructure, as well as ensuring transport safety. Thus, for the first time ever, the task of achieving «absolute» rail traffic safety can be set.The article includes a forecast of the approximate time of the advent of the fifth industrial revolution and the trajectories of development of technical systems of railways for the period before its start. The use of the results of the study is supposed to facilitate to concretise directions of the promising technical and technological development of rail transport.

Abstract:
Very few studies in the area of media reports of hazards and disasters empirically examine the effect of specific characteristics of media portrayals of these situations on responses by the public and even fewer compare these effects across medium. Based on the literature, we derive hypotheses concerning the effect of degree of threat and personal relevance on responses to a hazard event that threatened the water supply of the Greater New Orleans area in the summer of 1988, Using time series analysis to examine all phases of the hazard event, we find that degree of threat significantly influences only one type of response—purchasing bottled water— and only when the threatening information comes from television reports, Personal relevance impacts both purchasing bottled water and calling a bottled water company, regardless of medium (television or newspaper). We discuss the conceptual and methodological implications of these results for future research.

Abstract:
The Federal Republic of Germany is one of the last member states of the European Union that have liberalized the market of the longdistance buses (interurban buses). Since 1935 until the end of 2012 the access to the market was strictly regulated. Bus companies were allowed only when the bus transport does not threaten the position of railways, and it was only a supplement. The beginning of 2013 lifted most of the restrictions. It has started a dynamic growth of the market. The long-distance buses have changed significantly the urban transport policy as well as have boosted the intermodal competition in the segment of long-distance transport. In the German cities have appeared significant traffic generators, and space of bus terminals turned to be insufficient. Coaches, despite legal restrictions, have become part of the regional transport systems. The unaccustomed to competition national railway carrier – Deutsche Bahn – was forced to find a new position in the market. The answer was to increase the number of promotional tickets. At the same time at the bus market has begun the processes of concentration. The dominant company acquired more than 90 percent of the market. The rapid development of the long-distance buses caused the questions about the extension of a present of motorways toll for lorries also for buses. From the perspective of six years, the liberalization of the bus market to be considered, however, as having a positive impact on transport policy. Most of the passengers using interurban buses used to use private cars, not the railways, as originally feared.

Abstract:
The ongoing reform of Russian railway transport entailed a change in the form of ownership and status previously all known monopoly represented by the Ministry of Railways of Russia, and its transformation into the Open Joint Stock Company “Russian Railways”. The change in the form of ownership of one of the largest subjects of the transport services market in Russia had a certain effect on the competitiveness of the country’s transport system and, in some way, reduced the level of monopolization of railway transportation. The methods for calculating the labor productivity of transport companies in Russia generally require a deeper method of measuring the performance of personnel, based on assessing the level of development of the company’s human potential in modern economic conditions, when the relationship between the results of personnel work and the company’s targets determines its competitiveness. The authors propose a new methodology for managing labor productivity and employee incentives, which is caused by the actualization of a number of functions of personnel management of transport companies and the transformation of production activities depending on changes in the external environment, which previously did not play a fundamental role, but now have a decisive influence on the efficiency of the company’s activity and social production of the country. Assessment of the performance of companies can also cause problems with the management system of labor productivity and human development, if the strategic goals and objectives of the company’s development are not known to a particular employee, are not balanced or outside of its sphere of influence.

Abstract:
This article is a study of the musical style of Randy Newman, one of the most intriguing singer–songwriters in the United States today. Since Newman's is hardly a household name, let me begin with a biographical note. Born in New Orleans in 1943, Randy Newman moved to Southern California at the age of five and has lived there ever since. While still a teenager he became staff songwriter for a small publishing company, and in 1966 achieved his first commercial success with a song recorded by Judy Collins, ‘I Think It's Going To Rain Today’. He began recording for Warner Brothers/Reprise in 1968, and has released an album every two or three years since then. Except for one hit, ‘Short People’ (1977), his music has appealed to a relatively small but devoted following. Unlike many contemporary songwriters, Newman is classically trained, and is a skilled orchestrator who writes his own arrangements, as well as arrangements for other artists and occasional film scores.

Abstract:
The Buena Vista Member of the Mississippian Cuyahoga Formation is an economically valuable freestone that is homogeneous with almost no sedimentary structures. The Buena Vista was one of the earliest clastic rocks quarried in Ohio. Early quarries dating at least back to 1814 were located in the hills on the north bank of the Ohio River near the village of Buena Vista, south-central Ohio. By the 1830s, quarries had also opened up along the route of the Ohio & Erie Canal in the Portsmouth area to the east; followed by quarries that opened along a railway line that ran north up the Scioto River valley. Waterways transported the Buena Vista to many cities and towns, including Cincinnati, Ohio, Louisville, Kentucky, and Evansville, Indiana, on the Ohio River, New Orleans on the Mississippi River, and Dayton and Columbus on the Ohio canal system. Later railways transported this stone further afield to Illinois, Wisconsin, and Alberta. Census reports, industry magazines, and other historical accounts document the use of this stone across much of the eastern US and into Canada. Historically, it has been used for a variety of items, including entire buildings, canal structures, fence posts, and laundry tubs. Some 19th-century structures built with this stone remain in cities where it was once commonly used. Literature reviews, field observations, and lab analyses are here compiled as a useful reference to both the urban and field geologist in the identification of the Buena Vista Member, a historically important building stone, in buildings and outcrops, respectively.

Abstract:
Purpose: To identify the main directions for increasing the service life and reliability of bearing assemblies for high-speed rolling stock. Methods: An analysis of modern bearing designs and new materials used in their manufacturing has been conducted. Results: The analysis of the conducted research has shown that all the examined designs of bearing assemblies produced by NSK company mainly meet the current demands of railways operating at speeds up to 320 km/h, and can ensure the safety of train movement under all existing operating conditions. Recommendations for equipping the axle box unit s of rolling stock with bearings that perform most successfully under special operating conditions have been developed. The issues of monitoring the faults of axle box units operating on high-speed trains, such as TGV, ICE, and Talgo, and the systems of their onboard diagnostics, have been addressed. An assessment of the domestic control system is provided, and its advantages over foreign counterparts are demonstrated. A solution for diagnosing trains under the ‘black box’ regime has been proposed. Practical significance: The application of modern bearing designs, new materials, and diagnostic systems allows for an increase in the reliability and performance of railway rolling stock.

Abstract:
There are 1800 climate change laws around the world. In recent years, the rapid increase in carbon emissions has caused global warming and climate pollution, causing serious harm to social development and human health. Reducing carbon emissions is getting a lot of attention. Since the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement, many countries have made efforts to reduce carbon emissions. The article describes the international processes intended to adopt regulations on greenhouse gas emissions, including the regulated market for quotas and the voluntary market for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The emphasis is on European and Russian quota mechanisms. The stages of development of transborder carbon regulation in the EU are highlighted. It is noted that in Russia, the leader in application of ESG criteria is JSC Russian Railways, as a company that is consistently pursuing the transition to implementing the principles of sustainable development. The conclusions on international trends in development of carbon regulation are followed by proposals on solutions regarding problematic aspects of the new Russian carbon legislation. According to the authors, the target scenario remains the transition to a new technological structure ensuring a real reducing the carbon footprint.

Abstract:
In the last quarter of the nineteenth century the Dutch economy experienced a fresh take-off. Up-to-date steamships plied the shipping routes to the Netherlands East Indies; in the Netherlands the network of railways and canals was greatly expanded; modern insurance companies, commercial banks and other financial institutions were founded. The resultant growing need for external capital led to a new legal form of financing, the joint-stock or limited liability company, and the 1870s and 1880s saw the establishment of a relatively large number of newly founded companies of this type. Generally speaking, these companies represented business activities with a long-standing tradition in Dutch economic life: trade, banking and transportation. The economic take-off was also reflected in the growing number of joint-stock companies pursuing economic activities in colonial Indonesia, often with their headquarters in the Indonesian Archipelago itself. According to J. à Campo the number of such newly founded corporations was more than hundred for each year after 1896, reaching its highest level in 1910, when no less than 326 were founded.

Abstract:
With the evolution of technology that has occurred in digital systems, new services have appeared that can be applied in railways. Radio communications play an important role in the management of, exploration and maintenance of railway transports. Due to the importance of efficient service delivery and security in railways, there is need to integrate the use of the Global System for Mobile communication and global positioning systems. Transportation is a large and important part of the economy of any country. Railway transportation is one of the main transportation systems worldwide. To this effect, we should have a good and strong monitoring system that can locate a train at every instant. In this research, a proposal has been made for the implementation of a Global Positioning System (GPS) and global system for mobile communication (GSM) based train monitoring system on Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) railway network that will enable controllers locate their trains at every instant. The GPS-GSM/GPRS (General Packet Radio System) module will be incorporated in the system. A GSM/GPRS module will transmit the location information to a web server. Every track and locomotive will be assigned a unique number for identification. The information of the train location will be continuously updated when the train is moving and the users will be accessing the information via the web. The updated information will be stored in the web server. Clients will request for particular train status and a designed web application will show the status in a Google map. An alternative radio voice communication system will be incorporated in the locomotives in case of failure on the monitoring system. This implementation will greatly improve service delivery to the company.

Abstract:
As India's largest employer has gone digital, this is the beginning of mass acquisition in a new dimension. Indian Railways serves on a peripheral scale in the size of each aircraft. It carries 23,000 passengers and over 3 million tonnes daily, with more than 12,000 passengers traveling at 115,000 km and 7000 stations. But as the nation's largest employer has begun to digitalize its services operations, it is beginning to gain mass in an emerging dimension. The network collects around 100 datasets per user (one truffle is enough to store 500–1000 movies). This passenger booking plate has 25 million users, leading to approximately 800,000 daily transactions. Such is the creation of a digital scale railway ecosystem, a fertile ground for entrepreneurs, employers and large scale technology for testing and testing. And while Railways has made a good start by integrating third parties with third parties, the company can create a seamless experience in booking, payment and other services at the top of the railway data pipeline. Here we have several ways to verify a passenger or passenger ticket, which will be discussed one by one on Fig.1. We understand here that the N computer system (server) is available in the availability center and the availability train provided by the NECC (North Eastern Carrying Corporation Ltd). Each seat or chair acts as a spring (Smart) chair, which means that we are connected to a ticket scanner or chair that can scan tickets and send the actual data to the field node (fog node). Later, the latest analysis will result in the proposed data and the final data that will be sent to the cloud. We are connected to multiple devices to share real-time data and updated real-time data on the cloud. We have created a fog environment and a cloud environment. We have implemented this with the help of clipping and sending data by sending real data separately. We have created a smart gateway between military (Servers) and customer (sensor), cloud and customer (sensor). In this paper, there is the solution that can enhanced the chances of getting confirm ticket, based on individual server load in coaches of the train, according to the increase in the number of sensors request, in the context of processing and considering three cases , it is an answer by analysing cloud-fog scenario. Up to this implementation the simple round robin algorithm is also used solution for load balancing purpose. The method is implemented by using a class student attendance system in a college level.
