Introduction: Cervical cancer is known as one of deadly disease. The global incidence of cervical cancer is the second largest in the entire world, including in Indonesia. RSUP Dr. Hasan Sadikin Bandung, cervical cancer ranked fi rst (62.27%) compared with other fi ve types of obstetry and gynecology malignancies (suspected malignant ovarian tumors 16.12%, ovarian cancer 11.76%, vulva cancer 8.65% and endometrial cancer 1.19%) (Destiana, 2012). Chemotherapy as one of cancer treatment causes various side effects include hair loss, nails blackened, nausea and vomiting, that could makes patient stressful. SEFT ( Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique ) is useful to overcome negative emotions through a combination technique that uses psychological energy, spiritual strength, and praying. SEFT is an effective intervention in manage stress, there are some techniques that practiced simply such as praying, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), hypnotherapy, visualisation, meditation, relaxation, imagery and desensitisasi (Zainuddin, 2008). The purpose of this study was to explain reducing stress on patiens with cervical cancer through Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) at RSUP Dr. Hasan Sadikin Bandung. Improvements on patient’s stress will lead to a better result on cervical cancer therapy. Methods: This study was used quasy experiment pre-post test randomize control group design. Patient with cervical cancer at stadium I to III that taking chemotherapy was selected by using purposive sampling and divided into two groups. Each group contains 34 patients. Intervention group was given SEFT in three round. Each round took 30 minutes. Before and after intervention patients was given Questionnaire. The data were analyzed using paired t-test and independent t-test. Result: The result of this research showed that patient’s stress getting lower signifi cantly after intervention. Discussion: SEFT could reduced stress on patients with cervical cancer that taking chemotherapy at RSUP Dr. Hasan Sadikin Bandung.Key words: SEFT (Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique), stress, cervical cancer, chemotherapy

Background of the study: High-risk infants hospitalized in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) suffer from sensory deprivation which has an impact on normal brain development of the neonates. They are cared in NICU during the first few days or weeks of their life. Extra uterine environment poses risk to the neonates as they are very fragile to adapt to the changes in extra uterine environment with their immature body systems. Early sensory stimulation will enable the growth of the brain cells, will enhance the adaptive behaviour, and will help in the attainment of the normal growth and neuro behavioural maturity. A child’s first emotional bonds are built through touch, which lays the foundation for future emotional and intellectual development. Touch alters oxytocin, which in turn, provides relaxation, encourages bonding between parent and child and lowers stress hormone levels. Aim: The aim of the present study is to evaluate the beneficial effects of tactile stimulation on Neurobehavioral development and physiological parameters among neonates in NICU. Methods: A Pre test-post test design was adopted to evaluate the effects of tactile stimulation on Neurobehavioral development and physiological parameters. A sample size of 50 neonates admitted in NICU were selected and 25 Neonates were assigned to Experimental group and 25 neonates to Control group by using stratified random sampling technique followed by simple random technique. Modified Brazelton's Neonatal Neuro Behavioural Assessment Scale (NNBAS) was used to assess the Neuro behavioral Development before and after proving tactile stimulation. Data analysis: Data was analysed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics according to the objectives and the hypothesis tested. Results: revealed that there is a significant improvement in the neuro behavioural development and the physiological parameters of neonates in experimental group in NICU after providing tactile stimulation. Conclusion: It is evident from the findings that the tactile stimulation has beneficial effects on neuro behavioural development and the physiological parameters among neonates in NICU. Ethnic majority culture (i.e. Malay) has given much influence on the biological and psychosocial aspect of immigrants in Malaysia. This study aims to examine the neuro-culture interaction among immigrants (historical and current immigrant) with regards to their emotional response towards Malay cultural heritage visualization. The Event Related Potential technique was used to explore the neural activity of the mental and emotional processes in response to specific culture-related stimuli. A modified oddball paradigm was applied in the presentation of the visual stimulus that was set-up in the e-prime program. Significant neuro-culture interaction was observed in the temporal area (T6) of the brain which was consistent in P300 and N200 amplitude. Current immigrants indicated significant lower P300 and N200 amplitudes, as compared to majority ethnicity (i.e. Malay). Long- and short-term exposure to cultural environment has an important consequence in the psycho-biological system.

Abstract:
COVID-19 is an acute respiratory infection caused by SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. The most common complications of this disease are viral pneumonia, acute respiratory failure and thromboembolism, up to 20% of patients suffer from long–term symptoms. The purpose of this study was to study the possibility of using neuro-biofeedback method in neuro-correction of patients who had suffered from COVID-19 disease with emotional disorders. The study involved 40 people (27 women and 13 men) who had suffered from COVID-19, experiencing emotional disorders and in need of rehabilitation, of whom 24 individuals made up the main group and 16 individuals – the control group. The age of the participants ranged from 25 to 73 years, the mean age was 42.25±2.59 years. Prior to the beginning and at the end of the study, both groups underwent tests: the "Depression Questionnaire", the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, determination by the PSM-25 stress scale. The equipment "Neuro V" (Zelenograd, Russia) was used for neuro-biofeedback training. The neuro-feedback technology "Neuro V" makes it possible to use electroencephalography parameters for self-regulation. Stimulation of the alpha rhythm in the frequency range 8-14 Hz helped to change the psychoemotional state of the subjects. The changes were confirmed by valid diagnostic tests "Spielberger–Khanin Anxiety Scale", "Depression Questionnaire", indicators on PSM-25 stress scale, as well as a "subjective" decrease in the severity of the asthenic syndrome. The technique that we propose gave the opportunity to increase not only the indices of alpha rhythm power in the electroencephalography, but the subjective assessment of health as well.

This chapter examines the heterogeneity of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), reviews the controversy over traumatic triggering events, and explores the complexities of the disease including clinical presentation, comorbidity, and the role of social support. Conceptual models for PTSD are also detailed. PTSD has a highly individualistic clinical presentation, which lends itself to the holistic nature of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). In this chapter, CAM treatments that have demonstrated clinical utility and research support are reviewed. These approaches include mindfulness, Chinese medicine, the Neuro-Emotional Technique, biofeedback, animal-assisted therapy, yoga, plant-based medicines, and cannabis. Acupuncture is one of the major therapeutic modalities in the system of ancient Chinese medicine, and it must be used in the context of Chinese medicine as an effective and complete clinical discipline. The other modalities of ancient and modern times that are based on Chinese medical theories and practices are considered here as adjunctive therapies. They include Chinese herbal medicine, moxibustion, Tui Na, Gua Sha, cupping, auricular acupuncture, scalp acupuncture, and neuro-emotional techniques. They are used in conjunction with body acupuncture and as an alternative when acupuncture is not available. Among them, Chinese herbal medicine is discussed in greatest detail because it dominates Chinese medical practice today in China and is often misunderstood and misused by modern medical professionals and consumers.

Research on the process of resilience encourages a systemic rather than fragmented epistemology. By combining neurological development and narrative techniques, we can observe how emotional pressures from the family and social environment form the human brain. This is how it can acquire a neuro-emotional vulnerability or, on the contrary, the protective factors needed against traumas. When the injured person’s story is consistent with the surrounding stories, the person experiences a sense of calm that regulates brain function. But when the intimate and collective stories are conflicting, the maladjusted casualty feels isolated and misunderstood, making the process of resilience difficult. We can act on the environment that acts on our brain to increase the possibility of resilience. This degree of freedom makes us responsible for organizing such an environment.

The aesthetic experience has been discussed throughout the history of mankind by philosophers and art historians, becoming a universal part of human experience, which leads us to some great interdisciplinary questions. It has been the subject of study by neuroscientists and neuro-psychologists since the 2000s. This recent evolution of neurology studies in the field of art, is due to in vivo brain imaging techniques, especially functional neuroimaging. Furthermore, recent research has provided evidence of cognitive interaction during the perception of an artwork indicating that the perceptual experience of art is not merely a passive one. This article reviews important studies in neuroaesthectics of visual art that point out that the aesthetic experience is related to the distribution in the neural architecture, suggesting the involvement of sensory-motor areas, emotional centers, reward system, memory and language.

The autonomic nervous system consists of three divisions: the sympathetic (thoracolumbar), parasympathetic (craniosacral), and enteric nervous systems. The sympathetic and parasympathetic autonomic outflows involve a two-neuron pathway with a synapse in an autonomic ganglion. Preganglionic sympathetic neurons are organized into various functional units that control specific targets and include skin vasomotor, muscle vasomotor, visceromotor, pilomotor, and sudomotor units. Microneurographic techniques allow recording of postganglionic sympathetic nerve activity in humans. Skin sympathetic activity is a mixture of sudomotor and vasoconstrictor impulses and is regulated mainly by environmental temperature and emotional influences. Muscle sympathetic activity is composed of vasoconstrictor impulses that are strongly modulated by arterial baroreceptors. Heart rate is controlled by vagal parasympathetic and thoracic sympathetic inputs. Vagal influence on the heart rate is strongly modulated by respiration; it is more marked during expiration and is absent during inspiration. This is the basis for the so-called respiratory sinus arrhythmia, which is an important index of vagal innervation of the heart. Power spectral analysis of heart rate fluctuations allows noninvasive assessment of beat-to-beat modulation of neuronal activity affecting the heart. Arterial baroreflex, cardiopulmonary reflexes, venoarteriolar reflex, and ergoreflexes control sympathetic and parasympathetic influences on cardiovascular effectors. The main regulatory mechanism that prevents orthostatic hypotension is reflex arterial vasoconstriction in the splanchnic, renal, and muscular beds triggered by a decrease in transmural pressure at the level of carotid sinus baroreceptors.

Neurophysiological measurements have increased in Design and Architecture to emotionally assess products. Objective understanding of emotion states brings an enormous opportunity to explain how environments aspects affects persons. New methodology must be developed for a successfully approach between Neuroscience and design areas, in order to build this recent synergy. This paper contribute to profound concept of Emotional Maps (EM), which is a challenge for two reasons: the characterization of emotional states and the uncertain relation with maps illustrations. In order to create an EM, Heart Rate Variability (HRV) was used to detect certain emotional states and Virtual Reality (VR) to generate an environment condition. The study was conducted by VR environment displayed in Head-mounted Display Oculus DK2. Twelve persons participated in data acquisition by two tools: during environment exploration, a portable physiological device (Empatica E4) recorded HRV signal; and at the end of study, a Likert scale questionnaire collected emotional impressions. HRV signal was analyze in time-frequency to detect activation or relax levels. The statistics results prove that design guidelines used in environments evoked the stressful state sought, and that the physiological measure used are appropriate to be represented. The final result shows the possibility to mapping emotional states. This novel technique allows to quantify objectively a subjective experience and locate in specific place when occurs.
