Abstract:
Negotin Krajina geographically belongs to Mezian tablet that means it is widely open to the influences from the East but main air influences come from the West and North-West causes specific thermal characteristics. Meteorological station "Negotin" is the only one respectable station in the Krajina then we analyze results from various periods since 1901. It is important to emphasize that station "Negotin" doesn't have work continuity since the beginning of the century, thus for analyzing certain climate elements we have had to use method of analogy with station "Zajecar". A part of that, observations were not done by the same methodology so there is lack of some important indicators for this first period. To determine air thermo-regime of Negotin Krajina during 20 century, standard periods (1901-1930., 1931-1960. and 1961-1990) for analyzing climate elements suggested by WMO, were compared. Also, periods from 1925. to 1940. and from 1990. to 2000. were added to this analysis (according to data we had).

Abstract:
Sublethal effects of a pymetrozine-based product (commercial product Chess 50 WP) on life history traits and population growth of one commercialized strain (?Dutch? strain) and two local populations (Bujanovac and Negotin) of the whitefly parasitoid Encarsia formosa Gahan (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae) were evaluated in laboratory bioassays. All trials were carried out at 27?1?C temperature and under 60?10 % relative humidity and 16/8 h daylight/darkness photoperiod in four replications. Longevity of wasps exposed for 48 h to residues of the pymetrozine insecticide (LC50, 280 mg a.i./l) was shorter (by 2.7-3 days) than that of control wasps. Total parasitism of Negotin wasps was significantly reduced (by 8.2 %), as well as total parasitism and adult emergence of the Dutch strain (by 7.3 and 8.2 %, respectively), compared to control wasps. The instantaneous rate of increase (ri) of surviving adult wasps was also significantly reduced (by 6.6, 6.3 and 7.6 % in populations Negotin, Bujanovac and Dutch strain, respectively). Direct treatment of wasps at their pupal stage (LC50, 300 mg a.i./l) reduced total parasitism of Negotin wasps (by 8 %), and reduced ri levels, but the reduction was significant only for the Bujanovac (by 6.7 %) and Negotin (by 4.6 %) populations. Juvenile development of the parasitoid in treated pupae was significantly extended (by 0.3-1.1 days), compared to control wasps. The implications of these results on integrated control of the greenhouse whitefly are discussed.

Abstract:
Climatology is traditionally connected to different conditions of the atmosphere. However, many occurrences appear from time to time. Those occurrences are defined as extreme. Nowadays it is important to study extreme occurrences for every geographical area. In this paper we have investigated one segment of extreme climatic conditions in Eastern part of Serbia - adverse characteristics of precipitation. Data for Negotin were analyzed, as a representative of the climate in this area. Extreme values of precipitation in one place were taken as dangerous occurrences. We have calculated thresholds above which we consider daily amount of precipitation as dangerous. Thresholds for dangerous lengths of rainy and droughty periods were calculated, too.

Abstract:
According to its physical-geographical and socio-economical characteristics, the municipality of Negotin belongs to the territories with favorable tourist potentials. In order to scientifically validate this fact, in this paper tourist valorization has been performed using quantitative-qualitative method, giving attractiveness ranking values, based on which conclusions have been made on the direction and forms of tourist potential. The results obtained from tourist valorization have shown that the hydrographic potential and fauna are rated as good (3), and have the highest general tourist value among natural resources. General values are graded as satisfactory (1.8) and the climate is graded as unsatisfactory (1.2). Valorization of anthropogenic characteristics gave the maximal general value (4) to cultural-historical objects including sacral objects - monasteries and churches and the Rajac pimnice. The Rajac pimnice have an especially high value, as they represent, for us, a unique value that can be considered in diverse ways and adjusted to tourist utilization. Based on the performed tourist valorization it can be noted that the general tourist value of the municipality of Negotin is of regional ranking, though anthropogenic potentials are of national ranking and part of them, as emphasized, are objects that are internationally important. The basic shortcoming is the low road quality leading to places of important tourist value, even though the road network is favorable, and there are also many weaknesses in the receptive tourist base. Improvement of these shortcomings would create a good image of the municipality of Negotin in continental tourism of the Republic of Serbia.

The analysis of demographic factors of the studied area points to the different demographic development models. Uneven economic and regional development of industry caused the regional demographic polarization of the population of Negotin municipality. In relatively short period, the transition has caused spontaneous urbanization and deagrarization. All that influenced the faster tempo of social and demographic processes, especially the migrations towards Negotin, which led to the developmental unevenness and regional polarization to the zone of population concentration (town and the suburban areas). Contrary to the town center, there are depopulation rural areas, with outstanding economic undevelopment.

In this paper basic information of Homer software for PV system electricity generation, NASA - Surface meteorology and solar energy database, RETScreen, PVGIS and HMIRS (Hydrometeorological Institute of Republic of Serbia) solar databases are given. The comparison of the monthly average values for daily solar radiation per square meter received by the horizontal surface taken from NASA, RETScreen, PVGIS and HMIRS solar databases for three locations in Serbia (Belgrade, Negotin and Zlatibor) is given. It was found that the annual average values of daily solar radiation taken from RETScreen solar database are the closest to the annual average values of daily solar radiation taken from HMIRS solar database for Belgrade, Negotin and Zlatibor. Monthly and total for year values of electricity production of fixed on-grid PV system of 1 kW with optimal inclinated and south oriented solar modules, in Belgrade, Negotin and Zlatibor using HOMER software simulation based on data for daily solar radiation taken from NASA, RETScreen, PVGIS and HMIRS databases are calculated. The relative deviation of electricity production of fixed on-grid PV system of 1 kW using HOMER software simulation based on data for daily solar radiation taken from NASA, RETScreen, and PVGIS databases compared to electricity production of fixed on-grid PV system of 1 kW using HOMER software simulation based on data for daily solar radiation taken from HMIRS databases in Belgrade, Negotin and Zlatibor are given.

Abstract:
Demographic projections represent a multi-purpose instrument in predicting the population development for the purpose of spatial planning and organizing as well as local economic development. In Serbia, demographic projections are very rarely produced on territorial levels lower than regional, therefore, the projections that are depicted in this work will be focused on the municipality of Negotin with the goal of observing an exceptionally depopulated area located in Eastern Serbia. The projections have been created with a time horizon of the year 2040 by using the cohort-component method which is well-established in literature as a prevailing method of producing population projections. Population projections for the municipality of Negotin have been constructed in three variants all relying on the initial hypotheses of fertility, mortality, and migrations. This is also the first time that such projections have been made separately for a rural and urban area of the municipality of Negotin. Results have shown that by the year 2040, the population will range between 17 and 18 thousand citizens, with the depopulation rate in rural areas being twice as high as that of urban ones. With the current demographic state in mind, it is evident that only direct interventions in the domain of migrational policies could slow down the pace of depopulation. This is due to the fact that the current fertility potential is undoubtedly insufficient to slow down depopulation even in the occurrence of a complete response to pronatalist policies.

Abstract:
Based on unpublished archival sources, this paper deals with the position of Gypsies in Serbia in mid XIX century and with the institution of marriage. An extraordinary event, attempt of a Gypsy man marrying a Serb woman, is described and analyzed in detail. The groom's father, wealthy Negotin native Gypsy, intended to marry his son with a Serbian girl and thus improve his family's social status. The selected bride was a poor girl without a family, who accepted the proposal in order to escape from poverty. Obviously, it was the case of an arranged marriage. There were not any legal obstacles to the marriage and the church authorities gave their consent. However, the marriage was not socially acceptable for the part of Negotin community members. Therefore, they openly protested and forced the Timok archbishop to withdraw his permission for the marriage. Police did nothing to prevent demonstration and pressure on the high church dignitary. Thus, the marriage was thwarted. This unusual example shows the existence of segregation of Gypsies and their de facto inferior social position, as well as hesitation of church and civil authorities to enforce the law in matters of marriage, when it collided with deeply rooted social norms.

Full text
Abstract:
The triad Zeus, Herakles and Dionysos has been attested in Upper Moesia by the relief from the village of Bukovo near Negotin, eastern Serbia. The Roman supreme god was frequently shown in association with other deities but the presence of Bacchus and Hercules in such associations is Greek rather than Roman in origin. The association of Liber and Hercules was promoted by the emperor Septimius Severus, a native of the city of Leptis Magna whose patron gods were concurrently Liber and Hercules. Septimius even granted the dii patrii a sort of official recognition as patrons of the dynasty he founded. The village of Bukovo where the relief was found had not been known as an archaeological site. There is no specific evidence for the worship of Jupiter in that area, while the worship of Herakles is attested on the sites of Rovine and Tamnic near Negotin. The relief is close to north-Macedonian reliefs in style, and reflects Hellenistic and Thracian influence in associating the cults of Dionysos and Herakles. The depicted deities are compatible and close to Septimius Severus? official religion. The central position of the supreme god indicates his importance as well as the fact that the other two deities are associated to him, as his children patrons of nature and fertility in the underground and aboveground worlds. It is also important to note that the relief confirms Hellenistic religious influences in the area of the Upper Moesian limes.

Fires in nature are caused by moisture content in the burning material, which is dependent on the values of the climatic elements. The occurrence of these fires in Serbia is becoming more common, depending on the intensity and duration have a major impact on the state of vegetation. The aim of this study was to determine the association between changes in air temperature and the dynamics of the appearance of forest fires. To study the association of these properties were used Pearson correlation coefficients. The analysis is based on meteorological data obtained from meteorological station in Negotin for the period 1991-2010. Research has found that the annual number of fires, correlating with an average annual air temperature (p = 0.317, ? = 0.21). Also, it was found that the annual number of fires positive, medium intensity, correlate with the absolute maximum air temperature (p = 0.578, ? = 0.26), but not statistically significant (p> 0.05).

Abstract:
The territory of Serbia is sensitive to forest fires, which endanger various systems and play an important role in shaping the ecosystem. The probability of the occurrence and spread of forest fires in the area of northeastern Serbia was examined, depending on the influence of climatic conditions. Changes in climatic conditions are investigated at the annual and monthly level of air temperature, precipitation and air humidity values recorded at three main meteorological stations (Zaječar, Negotin, Crni Vrh) in the area of northeastern Serbia. Changes in climatic conditions in the period 2009-2022 compared to the period 1961-1990 were analyzed, with an emphasis on 2012 and 2014. The length of the average fire season was determined through a modified version of Thornthwaite’s evapotranspiration index. The fire season is longer in the area of Negotin and Zaječar than in the area of Crni Vrh. On the basis of the monthly humidity indices, a significantly longer fire season was determined in 2012 compared to 2014, as well as the multi-year period 1961-1990.An analysis of the value of the Burning Index (B) for the period 2009-2022 was performed and a correlation was established with the data on the number of forest fires. The burning index in the area of northeastern Serbia is the highest during the months of July, August and September. Significantly higher values of the burning index are for 2012 compared to 2014, which is correlated with the occurrence of forest fires in this period.

Abstract:
The September torrential floods in 2014 in the Eastern Serbia were a real disaster for local residents in municipalities of Kladovo, Negotin and Majdanpek. Meteorological extreme event caused the hydrological extreme event which led to declaration of the emergency situation in all three municipalities. The combined method of Soil Conservation Service and synthetic unit triangular hydrograph (SCS-SUH) is employed to compute the maximal discharges in small watersheds of Dupljanska reka and Manastiricki potok, in order to assess the extremeness of September 2014 torrential flood events. Since the surface runoff is accompanied by intensive soil erosion on watershed slopes and the maximal discharges by sediment transport in river beds, estimation of mean annual sediment transport is also presented in this work. The September 2014 floods will remain historic given that they took 5 human lives and caused enormous material damage for local municipalities, so presented hydrological analysis should be taken as very important part of flood event documentation along with reports of municipalities’ emergency headquarters.

The research was conducted on a sample of 198 parents of children attending final grades of primary school in Eastern Serbia (Negotin, Bor, Zaječar, Kladovo, and Knjaževac). Survey method and theoretical analysis method were used in the research. The researchers developed a fivelevel Likert type scale, the Parents' Self-Evaluation of Pedagogical Actions, consisting of 30 items referring to different pedagogical actions relative to affective dimensions and control dimensions. The results show the prevalence of affective dimension in parents' self-evaluation. When it comes to parents' level of education, the results indicate that parents with college and university degrees are more in the zone of responsible parenthood than parents who finished only primary school or have high-school diplomas. The results of this research can be a special challenge in terms of including children in some future research to examine the problem of parents' pedagogical actions from both perspectives. The research findings can also be used in the context of the development of educational programmes that can be implemented through cooperation between schools and parents.

Abstract:
The article discusses the lexical borrowings from the Serbian language in the incantations of Vlachs (Romanians) from Eastern Serbia and is based on the authors’ field materials. Incantation vocabulary analysis is carried out on the example of two texts recorded from native speakers of Oltenian dialect of the Romanian language from the villages of Zaječar and Negotin. There is an incantation called Întorsura mare (literally „Great return“, this incantation aims at removing damage and returning it to the person who caused it); the spell De noroc (Good luck) is meant to attract good luck. During the field research were recorded other incantations, mainly aimed at curing various diseases: the incantation of toothache or ear inflammation (De năjit), boils (De buboaie), inflammation of the glands (De gâlci), mercury poisoning (De argint viu, lit. “Of live silver”) etc. The informants from whom the incantations were recorded are elderly women, all of whom completed at least primary school, but do not know the written form of their native language, because they studied in Serbian. The texts of incantations have a stable character (exclude the variability of the components). However, some borrowings from the Serbian language, which are part of modern lexical duplicates and are not recorded in Romanian dictionaries, are still preserved in the texts of the incantations

Abstract:
The discourses on Stevan Stojanović Mokranjac, as one of the most significant composers in the history of Serbian music, reflect not only our attitude towards the composer, but also toward ourselves and the community to which we belong. The objects of analysis in this item are the discourses on Mokranjac in the 21st century, particularly at the festival Mokranjčevi dani in Negotin. A deconstruction of the narratives which are an integral part of the festival, primarily keynote addresses, as well as articles about the festival in printed media and on websites, shows that Mokranjac is interpreted as an important symbol of Serbian identity. Since Mokranjac is mythologized as an original artist, a genius who sang 'from the very soul of the Serbian people, the glorification of Mokranjac, traditional folklore, and Eastern Orthodoxy grows into a large-scale glorification of the entire Serbian nation. In some other narratives, Mokranjac is understood as a cosmopolitan, a manager, and a potential brand that may help us make a better showing on the international stage and be used for building an identity based on 'European civic values'. These various 'faces' of Stevan Mokranjac reflect different ways in which music tradition, as a powerful means of identification, can be utilized, invented, selectively remembered, or in fact forgotten.

Abstract:
The growing perception of heritage as a public commodity encourages rural communities to recognize their natural and cultural heritage as a potential for tourism development. This creates the need for an appropriate presentation of heritage sites that ensures that their cultural and natural assets are appreciated and protected. “Negotinske pivnice” are cultural heritage sites in Serbia, nominated for the UNESCO World Heritage List. They are architectural complexes of wine cellars in rural region with a long tradition in wine production and industry and are unique in terms of their settlement structure. This emphasizes the spatial dimension of their interpretation and presentation, and highlights the importance of urban design for their sustainable use for tourism. Based on understanding urban design both as a process and a product, and cultural heritage site as a place, we argue that participatory urban design contributes to appropriate heritage presentation by widening design knowledge base to include local communities’ lay knowledge. Following the case study methodology, we explored the relationships between participatory process, the knowledge gained, and urban design solutions for presentation of cultural heritage sites as living places in “Wine Cellars of Negotin Participatory Urban Design” project. The research reveals that the wider knowledge base affects urban design at both strategic and project levels and sets the grounds for diverse presentation forms through which harmonization of heritage protection and touristic presentation is possible.

Abstract:
Podunavlje region in Serbia comprises 16.6% of the territory and 38.9% of the total population of the country. Due to its attractive natural values, cultural-historical monuments, ethnographic features, etc., Serbian Podunavlje has favorable conditions for the development of excursion, nautical, stationary, event, youth, rural, hunting, transit, and other kinds of tourism. Since the climate as a tourism resource and the factor of tourist migrations in the observed area has not been analyzed yet, the aim of this paper is the tourism valorization of the significance of climate using the two tourism climatic indexes: tourism climate index (TCI) and tourism climate comfort index (TCCI). To achieve it, the climate elements were first analyzed at five meteorological stations in Serbian Podunavlje: Sombor, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Veliko Gradište, and Negotin for the period 1990–2010. Then the periods favorable for tourism activities were determined according to the mentioned indexes at the given stations. The research results show that summer is certainly the most favorable season for tourism activities in the observed area since the maximum TCI values were recorded during summer, and the minimum ones during winter at all the stations. Regarding the TCCI, the most optimal values of this index were recorded in September and May. These results can further serve the tourism organizations in the municipalities in Serbian Podunavlje when considering the construction of the tourism infrastructure, marketing activities, and further affirmation of the resources for the purpose of sustainable development of tourism.

Abstract:
The Sokol movement in the Kingdom of Serbia had its roots in many small towns and district centers, and it brought together residents who wished to establish and advance their knowledge in the field of sports. First, interest in sokolism appears among high school students in places like Zaječar, Negotin, Leskovac, Prokuplje, Pirot and other places of the then Moravian Banovina, which was a fertile ground of pan-Slavic, free, and patriotic ideas that manifested through the Sokol movement at the beginning of the twentieth century. With the development of crafts, trade, and small industrial plants, mostly mill-food and brewery plants, young people were also employed. Of course, the emergence and development of Sokol organizations in those, at that time, smaller towns, could not have happened without synergy with enthusiasts and Sokol supporters from Niš, the capital of Moravian Banovina and Sokol Parish, which was created in 1920. It is interesting that sokolism in Zaječar at the beginning of the twentieth century was mainly under the influence of the Belgrade Sokol organization and that contacts with Sokol workers in the town on the Nišava River were not frequent. On the other hand, as early as 1919, the integration of Sokol societies and companies in the northeast of today's Serbia can be observed. More precisely, in the wide area from Požarevac to Kladovo and from Donji Milanovac to Knjaževac, the Sokols associated with Timok Parish, whose central place is in Zaječar.

Abstract:
In Europe, the period from the 17th to the 19th century was marked by scientific and industrial revolution, better traffic communication, which strongly influenced development of viticulture and wine markets. New varieties are introduced into viticulture, intensive working on hybridization, more intensive cultivation methods are applied with use of horses, distance between plants are changed and more modern stock are used. After liberation from the Ottoman Empire, Serbian viticulture is developing again. With arrangement of the principality and then the Serbian Kingdom, in the overall development of Serbia under the Obrenović family, a significant contribution was made by new vine plantation. Apart from the Danube regions, the areas under vines are located around the Kopaonik mountain, which separates southern Serbia from the Novo-Pazarski sandžak and the wine-growing centers such as Negotin, Požarevac, Smederevo, Kruševac, Niš and Šumadija as a separate region (area about 98,326 ha). However, the development of viticulture in Serbia is stoped by the appearance of phylloxera. The territory of Serbia was affected by phylloxera starting in 1881, and by 1920 it had reached Metohija. In order to restore damaged vineyards, were formed vine nurseries (Smederevo 1882, Bukovo near Negotin 1886, Jagodina 1889, Aleksandrovac, 1891) where began production of rootstock and grafting of European vine varieties. Since then, for the first time, varieties such as Traminac, Chardonnay, Pinot blanc, Pinot noir, Gamay were introduced into Serbian viticulture. The beginning of the 20th century was marked by changing of royal dynasties, so after atending to Serbian throne, King Petar I Karađorđević (since 1903) form an endowment estate at Oplenac. King Petar I Karađorđević, and after them King Alexander, intensively participated in plantation of new vineyards, using planting material from nurseries from Smederevo and from France (1925). By 1935, the total area under vineyards amounted to 37.78,31 ha, of which 4/5 were under wine and 1/5 under table varieties. During the 2nd World War, Serbian vineyards was under significant damage due to the lack of conditions to bad cultivation in appropriate ways. After the 2nd World War, viticulture in Serbia had several development stages. The first stage covers the period from 1945 to 1954 and is characterized by an extensive production level. The second stage, from 1954 to 1959, is characterized by vineyard with big inter-row distance of 2–2.5 m and greater mechanization using. The third stage, from 1959 to 1970, is characterized by vineyards with inter-row distance of 2.5 to 4 m. It is the period of intensive vineyards plantating. In the 1970, 106.000 ha belonged to individual sector, and 10.500 ha to the state (goverment) sector. In the 80-is and 90-is of the last century, it is period of the viticulture stagnation with significant reduction of vineyard area. The disintegration of the SFRY, wars that followed, sanctions and international isolation of Serbia and especially NATO bombing affected complete destruction of viticulture as a minor agricultural branch at that time. It is estimated that only about 20,000 ha under vine survived and could be maintained at the beginning of the XXI century. For the last twenty years, have been made efforts to restore Serbian viticulture. With a more modern approach, it started with the selection of clones of varieties mainly for producing of high quality wines. With the formation of smaller and medium-capacity wineries (from 100,000 to 500,000 bottles per year), the situation in viticulture and wine sector has changed significantly through the increase of areas under vines and the improvement of wine quality. Today there are around 360 registered wineries in Serbia.

Abstract:
The paper analyzes archaic and borrowed elements of the tradition among the Serbs in the south of the region of Negotin, where they live in the neighboring villages with Vlach ones. Over the past two centuries, contacts between the Serbs and Vlachs (Romanians by origin) have been so intensive that this has affected even the most conservative part of ritual and magical practice: the funeral and memorial rites. Among the archaic elements of culture the paper focuses on spells and ritual-magical amulets the analysis of which showed that in the verbal part of the spells the common South Slavic basis is preserved, and associates with the pronouncing of the dialogue-ritual by two persons — performers of the rite (which N. I. Tolstoy studied in detail). Borrowed vocabulary from the Romanian folk tradition appears in the funeral rituals and folk medicine. Such terminological vocabulary includes the designation of a participant in a ritual dialogue who witnesses the sending of food and water to the dead martula, marturija; names like padura that refers to the Romanian folk beliefs of the forest spirits, etc. The materials analyzed in the study were collected by the author during the field survey in March 2023 of the southern part of the Negotinsky region (the villages of Brachevatc, Roglevo, Smedovatc, Rayatc) in the Timok River valley: both from oral conversations with informants and from local history publications, which in one way or another highlight the language, folk culture, folklore and history of the region.

Abstract:
Acute toxicity of an imidacloprid-based product (Confidor 200 SL) to pupae of the whitefly parasitoid Encarsia formosa Gahan (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae), and its effects on life history traits and population growth in F1 generation of the surviving parasitoid females of a commercial strain (?Dutch? strain, D) and two local populations from Serbia (Bujanovac, B; Negotin, N) were examined in laboratory bioassays. All trials were carried out at 27?1?C temperature and 60?10% relative humidity, and under 16/8 h daylight/darkness photoperiod in four replications. In acute toxicity bioassays, tobacco leaves carrying parasitoid pupae were treated with a series of symmetrical concentrations (800, 400, 200, 100, 50 and 25 mg a.i./l) covering a 10-90% mortality range. The product based on imidacloprid, applied directly onto parasitoid pupae at mean lethal concentrations (LC50) determined in the acute toxicity assays (30 mg/l, 20 mg/l and 25 mg/l, for populations B, N and D, respectively), significantly affected the survival of females developed from the treated pupae, extended the duration of juvenile development (by 1.81, 1.59 and 1.73 days for populations B, N and D, respectively), significantly reduced total parasitism of females D (25.92 %), total female adult emergence in populations B (27.48 %) and D (17.92 %), and significantly reduced the instantaneous rate of increased only of females N (4.23 %). Considering the high acute toxicity of the imidacloprid product to the pupal stage of E. formosa, and significant reductions in life table and population parameters, imidacloprid is not considered compatible for simultaneous use with the parasitoid E. formosa. A more precise assessment of risks involved in the use of that insecticide requires a more detailed testing in the field. The implications of these results for the concept of integrated control of the greenhouse whitefly are discussed.

Acute toxicity of a buprofezin-based product (commercial product Elisa 440 SC) to pupae of the whitefly parasitoid Encarsia formosa Gahan (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae), and its effects on life history traits and population growth in F1 generation of a commercial strain (?Dutch? strain, D) and two local populations from Serbia (Bujanovac, B; Negotin, N) were examined in laboratory bioassays. All trials were carried out at 27?1?C temperature and 60?10% relative humidity, and under 16/8 h daylight/darkness photoperiod in four replications. In an acute toxicity bioassay, tobacco leaves carrying parasitoid pupae (20 pupae per replicate) were treated with a series of buprofezin concentrations covering a 10-90% mortality range, and mortality was calculated based on the number of emerging adults 9 days after treatment. The following LC50 (mg/l) estimates were obtained: 244.2, 281.5 and 199.5 (for B, N and D, respectively). The product based on buprofezin, applied to parasitoid pupae at concentrations within the LC50s and 95% confidence limits (264 mg/l for B and N; 220 mg/l for D), significantly prolonged the duration of juvenile development (2, 1.7 and 2.2 days for B, N and D, respectively, compared to control data). Females from all tested populations that emerged from the treated pupae and were exposed to the residual action of buprofezin lived shorter than control females (B, N and D by 1.5, 0.7 and 1.7 days, respectively). Also, females that emerged from the treated pupae achieved a significantly reduced level of parasitism (B, N and D by 11.7, 17.7 and 17.6 %, respectively), total adult emergence (B, N and D by 11.6, 17.8 and 17.8 %, respectively) and instantaneous rate of increase (B, N and D by 8.2, 6.8 and 12.5 %, respectively), compared to control. Abstract:
Frequent occurrence of droughts over the last two decades, as well as increases in the air temperature increase have led to the rise farmers' concerns that field crop production would not be possible without irrigation. The aim of this research is to assess how two adaptation measures, sowing dates and irrigation and water excess impacts the yields of wheat, maize and sunflower in Serbia. In order to assess the future of climatic condition five representative locations have been selected for the analysis (Novi Sad, Valjevo, Kragujevac, Negotic and Leskovac). For the analysis of future climatic conditions, results of the ensemble of nine regional climate models from the Euro-CORDEX database were used. The period between 1986 and 2005 was used as a reference, while time slices in the future are: 2016-2035 (near future), 2046-2065 (mid-century) and 2081-2100 (end of the century). Analyses were made for the scenario of GHG emmisions RCP8.5. Aquacrop model v.6.1 was used for the yield, sowing period, and irrigation requirement assessment. The analysis and the results have indicated that earlier start of the growing season of maize and sunflower for 5, 11 and 19 days in near future, mid and end of the century, respectively, whereas optimal sowing period for rainfed wheat will vary from September 20 to November 30, depending on rainfall occurrence, and for irrigated one in optimal sowing period (beginning of October). The warmer climate will shorten the growing cycle of all studied crops. However, the shortening significantly differs among locations. The growing cycle of maize shortened from 34 up to 48 days in Valjevo in near future through the end of the century, while in Negotin it could be less only for 6 days. The increase in air temperature and earlier start of the growing season will enable the most sensitive phenophases, flowering and fruit formation, to appear in a period of more favorable weather conditions, together with the increase in CO2 concentration, can help mitigate the negative impact of the climate change, so that there will be no reduction in sunflower yields. Slight increment of sunflower yields could be expected by the end of century (2.3 - 13.8%), whereas yield of maize will remain on the present level. The increase of wheat yield could be expected only in the near future (up to 8.3 %), but also it can be reduced at some locations by the end of the century. Irrigation water requirements of all studied crops will remain at the same level the same level as the present, but only if sowing applied in the optimal period. Although it is known that irrigation changes microclimatic conditions, ie., the air humidity increases, and the air temperature decreases (the so-called oasis effect), which can affect the extension of the vegetation period, and thus the increase in yield. Such subtle changes in the microclimate cannot be "recognized" by models, so even simulated yields cannot be fully (accurately) predicted. This research come to the conclusion that in addition to irrigation, shifting the sowing dates earlier can have an impact on mitigating the consequences of climate change in crop production, which is of great importance for areas where there is not enough water for irrigation. The risk of drought will exist on shallow and sandy soils as well as on overwetted lands that cannot be plowed until drained to be sown in optimal terms and all crops sown in the late spring.

Abstract:

Abstract:
