Through an analysis of news reports and documentary footage on the Gulabi Gang and ethnographic reports on the Mahila Aghadi, both of India, we illustrate how women who engage in violent forms of justice-seeking require us to expand social psychological concepts of retributive and restorative models of justice, women's agency, and community organizing. Our grassroots feminist analysis in an Indian context integrates: (1) feminist definitions of punishment and ethical violence; (2) research on perceptions of justice and moral convictions; and, (3) the feminist and liberatory roles that women's and poor people's movements play in the reorganization and recovery of individual and community values.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this paper is to bring out, by means of a simple thought experiment involving demonstratives, a discrepancy between what is expressed and what is believed (which contradicts the Theory of Direct Reference), and to consider some consequences of this - most notably, whether we might hold, for example, that the ancients never believed that Hesperus is not Phosphorus.

Abstract:
Cristina Ibarra and Alex Rivera's recent film The Infiltrators uses a bold mix of film forms to tell the true story of a group of young undocumented activists who intentionally detain themselves in a South Florida immigration detention facility. Styled as a heist film, Ibarra and Rivera weave together verité footage, testimony, and reenactment to produce a compelling argument against immigration detention. In Diana Ruiz's interview, Ibarra and Rivera discuss the ways in which The Infiltrators problematizes extractive modes of documentary film and how the project's requisite reenactment brought about unexpected results. They also discuss the creative and political dimensions of “undocumented storytelling,” which relates to the filmmakers' enduring commitment to depicting fully dimensional representations of immigrants and Latinx experiences.

Dear Editor, Swallowing is an essential requirement for life. Eating is not only a practical act (i.e., obtaining the nutrition necessary for survival) but also involves social interaction. Having meals with family and friends is almost universally necessary for personal interactions1. Dysphagia is derived from the Greek Language "Dys" which means “difficulty or dysfunction" and "Phagia" means "to eat". However, it is defined as difficulty in processing or swallowing food from mouth to stomach2.

Abstract:
This article claims that the relevance of the ‘truth argument’ to free speech theory is based on an illusion. According to some critical perspectives this illusion consists in the false belief that a free press is a proper means for the mediation of social reality. The Critique of the Political Economy of the Press attributes it to the modes of production of the press in capitalist systems. Some cultural theorists, on the other hand, claim that the press cannot adequately represent reality because reality is non-representable. Building upon but superseding these approaches, this article affirms that the illusion of the free press is not merely a false idea of what the press really is. The illusion is – in contrast – an epistemological necessity: we need the illusion of a free press in order to retain the belief of a correspondence between the world that appears through the press and that same world as it is in itself.

Abstract:
We prove necessary and sufficient Tauberian conditions for sequences summable by weighted mean methods. The main results of this paper apply to all weighted mean methods and unify the results known in the literature for particular methods. Among others, the conditions in our theorems are easy consequences of the slowly decreasing condition for real numbers, or slowly oscillating condition for complex numbers. Therefore, practically all classical (one-sided as well as two-sided) Tauberian conditions for weighted mean methods are corollaries of our two main theorems.

Full text
Abstract:
Translation is usually deemed to help bridge gaps but seldom thought of as a means of strengthening or, at least, highlighting borders. The present article uses the example of translations involving the Breton language in order to show that translation may favour negotiation by both helping negotiators to understand each other and having them recognise the social border that makes them different. The article explains firstly the author’s understanding of borders and negotiation. Secondly, the case of translation from and into Breton is examined. And finally, the discussion is extended to the European institutions, where European language policy also illustrates the dual function of translation in negotiation. The example of Breton evidences that translation fosters social distinction, language development and cooperation. At the EU level, the same roles are assumed by translation services and they contribute moreover to the legitimacy of the institutions and to the exercise of democracy. Such a conclusion invites to consider translation as an adequate means to manage language and cultural differences, even compared to language learning. It may be used, then, to deal with pressing issues such as the current migration flows to Europe.

Abstract:
An overwhelming scientific consensus confronts us with the need to radically transform our habits to cope with the climate crisis in which we are living. The production of data – in addition to the re- lated flow of information and images regarding the threat to our survival and ecosystems – is not enough to activate our pro-environment actions. To set radical change in motion, it is necessary to design imaginative interventions based on the knowledge gained in embodied cognitive science so that interventions are directed not at disembodied minds but at situated indi- viduals enacting within a rich landscape of affordances. By way of experimenting with philosophy through unorthodox means, I will present a concrete artwork, Infinity Pool, whose purpose is to enact tangible invitations addressed to a situated community through a monstrous education of attention, that is, through an imaginative invitation that offers an opportunity to bring attention to aspects of the environ- ment usually ignored.

Abstract:
AbstractA number of critical issues concerning the assessment of children with intellectual disabilities, including definitional problems, psychometric factors, and practical difficulties, are raised in this article. It is suggested that school counsellors and psychologists should consider these issues when assessing children with probable or known intellectual disabilities, particularly when using IQ tests. The use of adaptive scales as an additional means of defining and measuring intellectual disability is also examined. Although no ideal means of formally assessing children with intellectual disabilities is put forward, a range of concerns is explored and some suggestions for appropriate additions and caveats to present practice are proposed.

Abstract:
Today, Russian society is significantly influenced by information technologies, which have become an integral part of everyday life and have led to the emergence of fundamentally new ways of learning, communication and professional activity. We consider the concept of "digital technologies" to be an integral part of the concept of "information technologies", since information technologies are characterized by the operation of information not only in digital form, we refer to information technologies, first of all, methods of collecting, storing, processing, transmitting and presenting information, and only then the means (hardware or software) through which this can be done. Most teachers do not have the skills to use digital technologies to organize, support, professionally oriented counseling as part of their career guidance activities and use traditional forms, methods and means at the same time: face-to-face meetings with representatives of professions, excursions to the university for an Open Day, face-to-face communication at thematic extracurricular events and the like. And despite the fact that today there is widespread use of Internet resources, nevertheless, the involvement of such resources in the career guidance activities of teachers is insufficient.
