Abstract:
The idea of interethnic harmony is the idea of peaceful coexistence of more than 1600 ethnic groups living on the planet, based on equality, mutual respect and cooperation. The idea of interethnic harmony is considered the idea of nationalism. It requires the development of the language, customs, traditions and holidays of all nations and peoples. Nationalism is the only enlightened idea that opposes fascism, ethnic and international wars. Since ancient times in Uzbekistan, people of different nationalities and ethnic groups have lived in friendly relations. The creation of national cultural centers based on the ideas of tolerance, such as the development of a culture of tolerance and humanity, the strengthening of interethnic and interfaith harmony, civil harmony in society, equal rights and opportunities for all citizens, regardless of nationality or religion, and its functioning is an important factor in ensuring sustainable development of the multinational state of Uzbekistan.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to explain that the commonly used method allowing for inter-agency cooperation between national financial intelligence units, the memorandum of understanding, is inadequate and ineffective in creating a cooperative global financial intelligence unit capable of combating money laundering typologies on an international scale. Design/methodology/approach – Methods of international financial intelligence unit (FIU) cooperation have chiefly occurred in two ways: first, through the efforts of the Egmont Group; and second, through the inclusion of provisions concerning FIUs contained in international legal documents. The first is an impossibility. Findings – This paper proposes that the result of implementation of the 2012 Financial Action Task Force Recommendations will be an informal network of FIUs where the Egmont group acts as a centralized operator for information exchange, effectively creating an informal global FIU (“GFIU”), but that this system, or a cooperative global financial intelligence unit system based on FIU-to-FIU exchanges will not allow for effective multilateral, international cooperation. Research limitations/implications – This is because national interests and unfamiliarity with capabilities provided in the Egmont Group’s cooperative platform have and will continue to result in under-utilization of cooperative efforts, and because the traditional mechanism employed for FIU-to-FIU exchanges, the memorandum of understanding (“MOU”), makes uniform or standardized information request and transfer procedures that are required for multilateral or multi-agency efforts to combat money laundering across international boundaries an impossibility. Practical implications – The Egmont Group’s cooperational structure should be the primary means by which to achieve a GFIU. Social implications – The global combat on money laundering will be more effective, thereby more fully protecting the global economy. Originality/value – A comparison between the Egmont Group’s network building mechanism and the existing use of MoU to create global cooperation against money laundering has not been analyzed.

Abstract:
Background. The article is devoted to the study of the scientific works of Sang Tong in the field of the national theory of harmony. His studies has a leading role in the development theoretical thought in the area of Chinese musicology and composition. Sang Tong’s contribution to national music education is determined by clarity of presentation of his teaching materials supported by numerous examples that is motivation for students to comprehend the science of composition. Being an outstanding composer, Sang Tong talentedly integrated the dissonant and pentatonic writing, emphasizing in his writings the national specifics due to atonal organization of music. The works of Sang Tong sounds abroad, they are performed on a concert stage, occupies a worthy place in the educational process of students of conservatories from different countries. In this connection, seems to be relevant the purpose of this article is to identify the main provisions of the theoretical works of the outstanding Chinese composer in the field of the national science of harmony and their role in the development of Chinese musical art in the second half of the 20th century. The mastering of this information is extremely necessary for the performers of San Tong music, as well as for teachers who are studying this musical repertoire in a class with students. Finally, the information presented will provide an opportunity to comprehend the artistic value of the musical heritage of Sang Tong, as well as allow attract more wide circles of professional musicians and audiences to his works. The results of the study. The first theoretical work of Sang Tong was the article “Theory of chord application and their subordination” (1957), where the musician analyzes the views of various authors on the problem of harmonization in composer’s work, systematizes them, giving a personal assessment. He gives many examples of the use of one or another composition tool. The composer considers methods of textural complexity in the study “Parallels to historical evolution and its application in Chinese and foreign musical works combined with pentatonic melody” (1963). In searching for his own composer’s writing, Sang Tong wanted to find the perfect textural balance: on the one hand, not reaching the difficult to perceive linear polyphony, on the other – not simplifying the texture into primitive forms of contrasting polyphony (as a variation of heterophony). The research experience of the 1960s and the 70s Sang Tong summarized in the monograph “Discussion on the horizontal and acoustic structure of pentatonic” (1980), which became a quality-teaching tool in the field of secondary music education. University vocalists also study at lectures on harmony, which helps them to expand the horizons of knowledge about national music. In 1982, Sang Tong published the first comprehensive study of contemporary music in China entitled “Introduction to harmonic processing techniques” in the journal Musical Art. Since 1994, Sang Tong planned to write a fundamental work that sums up his research – the ontology of Chinese music, but from year to year, because of illness, postponed it. Finally, in 2004, the Shanghai Music Publishing House published a series of Sang Tong articles in the form of a monograph “The Historical Evolution of Semitones”. This work is a fundamental study of the history of the development of harmony in China, which provides answers to the questions of the evolution of Chinese semantics and, related to it, the theory of the acoustics of Chinese instruments. Thinking about the quality of secondary music education, Sang Tong decided to prepare a textbook for an initial five-year program of study. In 2001, he published the Harmony Course, submitting it to the state commission for consideration as a school textbook. The San Tong’s Course of Harmony has become a basic national textbook in China. To date, the level of this theoretical work is considered unsurpassed and attributed to masterpieces in the field of music education. It is distinguished by a solid theoretical foundation that allows the students to find any answers to questions concerning the principles of voce-leading, transport, rules of resolution of various intervals. Conclusions. The composer and theorist Sang Tong entered the history of Chinese music of the twentieth century as the founder in the field of the modern national theory of harmony. For more than fifty years of academic research, Sang Tong has made an outstanding contribution to the development of theory of harmony in China, was creating a number of musicological studies of harmony that demonstrate the highest theoretical level. He laid a solid foundation for the future development of the national school of harmony theory, bringing the younger generation of Chinese composers to a high professional level.

Abstract:
The paper is aiming to answer such questions, where does the development of a new common European identity stand, which countries or regions show stronger or weaker European identification inside the EU, how this has changed over the past decades in the process of enlargement of Europe, what could be the value content of the new common identity, and how this will affect to the traditional national attachment and identity. More narrowly, the question is what changes have happened in Hungary in the public attitudes to Europe since the mid-90s and does the process of accession has an effect or not on the traditional Hungarian national identity. The empirical foundation of our study is the international comparative empirical research series of the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP), in the years 1995 and 2003 aiming to reconstruct the stock of knowledge of national and European identities in the member states. This study uses temporal and spatial comparison to consider national connectedness and the characteristics of European identity in various countries across Europe. Based on this data in our paper we make an effort to explore what characterizes national identity in Europe, how people see foreigners and domestic minorities, whether we can identify the development of a transnational or supranational identity that goes beyond national identity, and if there is a new frame of identification for people in Europe, what extent we can expect increasing conflicts in the relation of the two types of identity.

This article discusses and compares differences between presentations of these lines of conflict in six textbook series for social sciences prepared by the Indian states of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, and by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in New Delhi. The variations in perspective, scope, and approach are related to changing educational approaches and to specific discourses of identity politics, which may be explained in terms of the impact of different positions adopted by states and the union towards the issues, and in terms of the discursive dominance of specific sociopolitical viewpoints.

Abstract Ethiopia is a country of multi-ethnic and multi-religious society. Almost all of its citizens claim affiliation with either Christianity, Islam, or African traditional religions. Adherents of these religions have been coexisting in respect and peace. However, there is a growing tension between the citizens since the downfall of the dictatorial military government of Ethiopia, which was displaced by the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF), in 1991. Politics, religion, and ethnicity are the major causes of the declining national harmony under the current government. My claim is that addressing the declining national harmony caused by the religious, political, and ethnic tensions in Ethiopia requires of the EECMY to rethink its public theology in a way that promotes a national harmony that values peace, equality, justice, democracy, and human flourishing.

By referring to Tao Te Ching and The Analects of Confucius, this paper argues that humanity is a destination that environmental protection rests on. Fundamentally, harmony and environmental protection have close relationship with each other. Environmental protection is available for the sake of harmony while harmony guarantees the effects of environmental protection. Harmony plays unique roles in environmental protection too. Specifically, harmony acts a monitor to initiate environmental protection, serves as a lever to practice environmental protection, and functions as a mirror to observe environmental protection. Regarding the suggestions of fulfilling harmony in environmental protection, the paper claims that individuals should fill themselves with harmonious consciousness, society should provide peaceful and harmonious atmosphere, and national legislatures should make corresponding laws. In brief, harmony is significant in environmental protection.

Abstract:
Background. The article explores the development of the piano style of the outstanding composer Sang Tong, one of the founders of the national pianistic art. He was one of the first Chinese composers to apply modern techniques of composer writing on the basis of national musical elements. The early period of the creativity of this musician (1950–60’s) was the basis for the formation of his composer personality. The basis of the creative experiments of Sang Tong was his early piano work. In such works as “In a distant place” (1947), “Seven Ballads on the Themes of Songs of Inner Mongolia” (1953), “Three Preludes” (1955), “Two Piano Pieces” (1956), “The Little Children’s Suite” ( 1958), “Miao National Songs” (1959), “Imagination” (1959), the composer’s innovative style crystallized. Objectives. The purpose of the article is consideration and study the early period of Sang Tong’s piano work, the development of his compositional style in the 1950–60’s. Methods of research are based on a set of scientific approaches necessary for the disclosure of its theme. The complex approach, combining the principle of musical-theoretical, musical-historical and performing analysis, is taken as the basis of the methodology. Results. The influence of European teachers V. Frankel (student A.Schoenberg), J. Schloss (student A. Webern), and Chinese musician Xu Luosi on the formation of the artistic worldview of Sang Tong is investigated. If V. Frankel and J. Schloss instilled in the young musician an interest in modern techniques of composer writing, then Xu Luoxi pointed out to San Tong the importance of preserving the national principle in musical compositions. The influence of other musical genres, in particular, vocal and instrumental, on the formation of the composer’s piano style in the 1950s is also considered. Composer’s works have high artistic value due to his composer personality and high artistic merits of his works, which reflect the national style of music. His music is modern, it is often performed on stage, it sounds on radio and television, it adorns a lot of art and documentary films. The early works of San Tong, according to the peculiarities of harmonic language and musical content, can be divided into three groups. To the first group based on traditional harmony, it is possible to carry its vocal works. Although Sang Tong tried to adhere to traditional harmony, he does not associate himself with rigid canons. The composer boldly uses modern harmonic complexes consisting of nine, eleven, thirteen sounds, variable chords performing the function of complication, uses complex polyphonic combinations, which leads to a strong and dramatic sound. The second type of works differs in that their musical language is based on modal harmony and the structure of pentatonic. Mostly it concerns such works as “Spring wild mountain song”, “Jiannan thousand aromas of rice”, “Piano song about Miao song”, etc. The composer creates his own rich, gravitating to the national style, poetically depicting bright and memorable pastoral paintings. Functional limitations of pentatonic allow the author to diversify the style and demonstrate the inherent elegance of writing. The third group of the composer’s early works is based on a modern style. The main works, where the author used modern innovations, are his “Three Preludes”, “Night” and “In that remote place”. Boldly relying on some principles of modern harmony and combining them with a pentatonic fret, Sang Tong made some useful discoveries. In the “Three Preludes” retaining the color of pentatonic, the author used the serial technique of the composition for the development of the material. When composing chords, he relies on the Chinese principle of Yin Yang, which in this context embodies harmony and disharmony and expands the scope of the chord. Breaking the traditional harmonic concept and transforming it into a complex function that depends on factors such as multi-level chords, using a number of modern notions of harmony, the composer invades the sphere of traditional pentatonic sounding, modernizing it, which allows us to rethink the possibilities of the pentatonic fret. Conclusions. Thus, the early period of music creation laid the foundation for the study of the modern theory of harmony in the work of Sang Tong, and also contributed to the further development of innovation in the use of modern techniques of composer writing in synthesis with pentatonic.

Abstract:
Intolerant attitudes and actions that result in horizontal conflicts are inevitable in the life of a pluralistic nation like Indonesia. They hinder, however, the development of the nation's integrity protected and fought for decades by its founding fathers. Through this paper, Indonesian Christians are expected to be aware of the importance of their nation's integrity and of them living in harmony, which will bring peace. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach. It concluded that a correct understanding of the nature of tolerance within the framework of the Christian faith is necessary to contribute to building national unity. The tolerance possessed by Christians will maximize their role in contributing to practical building of national unity in daily life, such as in carrying out activities that emphasize coexistence and mutual respect as the realization of obedience to God's word. Christians also need to participate in inter-religious dialogue to find solutions to the problem of disintegration. Thus, the role of Christians in building national unity and integrity through tolerance has an impact on the harmony, security, and sustainability of the state.

The security scales-the National Strength and Order, the Propriety in Dress and Manners, and the Social Standing scales-inter-correlated highly and mirrored each other in predicting conservative attitudes, unwillingness to protest, and voting for the right. The harmony value scales-the International Harmony and Equality scale and the Personal Growth and Inner Harmony scale-were inter correlated and independent of the security scales. They both predicted liberal attitudes, but only the International Harmony and Equality scale predicted willingness to protest and voting for the left.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine how national culture influences individuals’ subjective experience of tension when confronting paradoxical demands that arise during their day-to-day organizational experience. The paper further explores two types of paradoxical demands (task oriented and relational oriented) and two mediating mechanisms (tolerance for contradictions and harmony enhancement concerns) that exhibit contrary cultural effects. Design/methodology/approach Drawing from a sample of white-collar workers in China and the USA, the authors first inductively generated scenarios with task-oriented and relational-oriented paradoxical demands and then conducted three studies where participants rated the perceived tension from the scenarios. In Study 1, they examined cross-cultural differences in perceived tension and the mediating role of tolerance for contradictions. In Study 2, they primed Americans with proverbs that promoted tolerance for contradictions. In Study 3, they examined the indirect effects of harmony enhancement concerns in China in relational-oriented paradoxical demands. Findings The results found that for task-oriented paradoxical demands, Chinese participants were less likely than American participants to experience tension and the effects were mediated by a higher tolerance for contradictions. Americans exposed to proverbs that promoted tolerance for contradictions also experienced less tension. For relational-oriented paradoxical demands, on the other hand, the authors found no cross-cultural differences, as the indirect effects of a tolerance for contradictions were mitigated by negative indirect effects of greater harmony enhancement concerns. Originality/value This paper demonstrates that culture can influence the tension that individuals subjectively experience when they confront paradoxical conditions, suggesting that individuals learn implicitly how to cope with tensions associated with paradoxes from their broader cultural environment. However, the authors also found different cultural effects within different paradoxical conditions, suggesting that the knowledge that individuals acquire from their broader cultural environment is multifaceted.

Abstract:
The article discusses the stages of the formation of the methodological system of teaching classical harmony in the People’s Republic of China. Analysis of the historical reveals the peculiarities and problems of teaching this section of the corresponding academic discipline, established in the national system of musical and musical-pedagogical education. The internal logic of this process is determined by the following parameters: the nature of the correlation of foreign experience with national characteristics and the presence (or opportunity) of other modules in the structure of the training course. On this basis, seven periods of the history of the teaching of classical harmony in China’s music education were identified and analyzed: 1842–1911 (formation of prerequisites); 1912–1926 (accumulation of primary empirical experience); 1927–1951 (methodic model of the Shanghai Conservatory); 1952–1965 (introduction of the Soviet pedagogical paradigm); 1966–1976 (crowding out foreign artistic influences and values from the cultural space); 1977–1997 (restoration of the Soviet methodic model against the backdrop of the adoption in art practice of modern forms of “Western” music and the national style based on pentatonic; 1998 - up to now (reforming the system of teaching harmony).

Abstract:
After delineating the roots of harmony in the literature from both the Eastern and the Western perspectives, the paper introduces the new Psychology of harmony in terms of harmonization that widens the perspective calling for psychological contributions regarding components, processes and building strengths in a preventive perspective. The complex construction of Harmony from a psychological perspective underlines the concept of relationality. Harmony results at three main points, with oneself, with others, and with nature/the natural world, also taking into account the spatial and temporal perspectives. The Psychology of harmony as harmonization represents a pillar for a new research area in the psychology of sustainability and sustainable development, considering harmonization in geographical and temporal perspectives, including meaningful construction processes from the past, to the present, and into the future using reflexivity processes at the individual, group, community, social, and national levels. Introducing the innovative psychology of harmony as harmonization the present article offers promising perspectives for research and intervention with the aim to individuate and foster new strengths from a preventive perspective.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of the role of harmony and texture in the process of forming the singer’s performance thinking. The relevance of the research topic is to justify the texture and harmony set of G. Sviridov’s vocal compositions as the basis for the formation of performance thinking. The problem for a vocalist lies in the fact that in the conditions of the complication of the musical language of chamber and vocal music of the 20th century, it becomes difficult to build a hierarchy of artistic image in the unity of vocal and instrumental framework. For a soloist, the texture as a principle of the composer’s organization of a text comes down to their solo melodic line; this is an instrumental category, the measurement of the piano part. Together with melos, instrumentalism constitutes artistic unity expressed through the texture and harmony set. How does the monody in the vocal part interact with the instrumental texture (homophony and harmony)? This aspect is a “stumbling block” for the vocalists who study vocal styles of music by composers of the 20th century. The purpose of the article is to reveal the texture and harmony features of the vocal compositions of G. Sviridov, taking into account their implementation in the performance process. Analysis of the recent studies and publications. In the monograph by A. Sokhor, the main attention is focused on the coverage of the biography in connection with creative activity. The harmonic language of G. Sviridov’s works was analyzed by V. Tsendrovsky [11]. In the works of O. Aleksandrova, the aspects of modern musicological methodology are presented when studying the compositional style of G. Sviridov [2]. However, in the above scientific sources, the issues of the texture and harmony organization that are important for the formation of the performance thinking of singers (including those from China) are not systematically presented and therefore should be the subject of scientific reflection. Discussion. For the baritone, the composer created a multi-genre palette of images in various chamber and vocal compositions of a cyclic type. The works of G. Sviridov are distinguished by deep national basis and the originality of the musical language. The composer inherited a connection with folk-song sources, modal expressiveness, vivid imagery, courage of harmonic principles of thinking. The texture and harmony arrangement of vocal parts is characterized by a combination of common European and folklore parameters. From the arsenal of modern methods of compositional technique, he applies the phonic interpretation of the vertical, pays special attention to timbre intonation as a sound image, speech declamation in the synthesis with the song manner. The melodics in G. Sviridov’s vocal compositions is the leading factor of the style, influencing the texture and harmony and timbre parts of the sound image (the unity of the vocal and instrumental intonation). Together with melos, the instrumentalism constitutes artistic unity, expressed through the texture and harmony set. The substantiation of the concept of texture and harmony set in the context of the singer’s activities as melodic self-identification is seen as important. The main parameters of the texture and harmony set in G. Sviridov’s vocal compositions form the basis for the implementation of the composer’s vocal style. Hence there is a need to include understanding of the foundations of the composer’s text (melodics, mode and harmony, texture) in the performance poetics (timbre, articulation, dynamics, agogics). Examples from certain compositions of Sviridov are indicated: “Spring” from the cycle “Four songs” to the verses of A. Blok as an example of polyharmony (introduction of the side tones into the chords of the tertian structure). The melody of baritone romances is almost always strictly monomodal or pentatonic. The stability of harmony is typical, holding one mode or oscillating around it, tinted by additional tones, comparisons or deviations with the dominance of the tonal basis. Sometimes a multicomponent tone system is complicated by the side tones. Second “overtones” included in such consonance create the effect of a bell manner, a sense of spatiality. The approach to folklore as a special system of thinking emphasizes the national mentality of musical images (Eternity, House, Path, Nature) of G. Sviridov’s works, creating a “close-up” where the poet creates an objective lyrical and epic song on behalf of his Self. Harmony is the basis of composer’s thinking: the colorfulness of the texture and vertical sets determines the instrumental phonism (piano). It entails the need for deep comprehension of the composition foundations (melodics, mode and harmony, texture) through the performance specifics (articulation, dynamics, agogics). The given examples confirm the importance of the texture and harmony parameter in the process of the formation of melodic pitch in the works of foreign-language singers. Having considered the parameters of the texture and harmony set in G. Sviridov’s vocal compositions, it can be argued that without understanding their role in recreating the singer’s figurativeness, the true height of interpretation of the composer’s vocal style is impossible.

The Storme Commission has published a proposal for a Directive on harmonisation of certain aspects of civil procedure. This initiative is to be welcomed as promoting discussion of the need for and problems of harmonisation, but provides no definitive solutions. The European Union probably has competence to legislate in this area, provided that the harmonisation measures adopted do in fact facilitate the development of the single market. The risk is that partial harmonisation will not achieve this objective but will instead lead to greater complexity because of the need to deal with the interaction between harmonised and non-harmonised rules. An analysis of the Storme Commission proposals demonstrates that they leave considerable uncertainty as to the remaining role of national laws, and that they would not gain universal acceptance because they would conflict with the approach adopted in some jurisdictions.

Abstract:
Background/Context There is a pressing need to consider how citizens should live together, especially in societies that are increasingly ethnically and politically diverse. Even though multicultural education is constructed very differently and serves very different purposes in different national contexts, relatively little attention has been paid to how education systems of countries such as China, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates give greater emphasis to the concepts of harmony and social cohesion. Purpose/Objective This study explores some of the ways in which multicultural education is defined and conceptualized in East Asian countries. This paper draws on the case study of Singapore to interrogate the concept of harmony, investigate the implications of the state incorporating this concept as an educational goal for the public education system, and examine teachers’ understandings of multicultural education. Research Design The study adhered to the qualitative case study design. The data consisted primarily of semistructured individual interviews with 24 Singapore secondary social studies teachers, as well as relevant curricular and political documents such as the national Social Studies curriculum, political speeches, and official government publications. Guided by the literature, the interviewers asked questions to surface the participants’ understandings of the definition, purposes, and practices of multicultural education. Subsequently, the interviewers used follow-up questions to probe further and elicit additional description of how the teachers arrived at these understandings. The data analysis, shaped largely by the constant comparative method, was data-driven and inductive. Conclusions/Recommendations By illustrating some of the affordances and constraints of incorporating harmony as an educational goal, this study offers multicultural education scholars and teacher educators an opportunity to better understand some of the ways in which multicultural education is conceptualized in East Asian countries with strong Confucian traditions. The findings from this study suggest that a focus on harmony as an educational goal may help facilitate a move away from programs that emphasize the development of individual students’ social and political competencies towards programs and policies designed to promote communal trust and social cohesion. Finally, this study illustrates some of the challenges teachers face when balancing the goals of building trust and harmony within society and interrogating entrenched interests, institutional inequality, and unequal power relations.

Abstract:
Religious harmony between different religious adherents is important in determining social peace and harmony in a plural country like Malaysia. The failure to ensure religious harmony can disrupt political and national stability. Hence, all parties, including policy makers, religious leaders and society should work together to strengthen inter-religious relations. The purpose of this study is to measure the level of religious harmony in Perak. It used a survey questionnaire as an instrument for data collection in which data from a total of 44 respondents were analysed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 24.0 software. The findings generally revealed that all dimensions of religious harmony were at a moderately high level. Surprisingly, the findings also showed that ‘Understanding’, ‘Cooperation’ and ‘Stable Conflict’ were recorded as the highest mean score for the Hindu group, while ‘Peacefulness’, Acceptance’, ‘Understanding’, and ‘Right and Justice’ were recorded as the lowest mean score for the Buddhist group. The study offers a valid measurement to determine the level of religious harmony that will advise the government to take appropriate measures to mitigate religious conflict and promote mutual understanding within multi-religious society.

Abstract:
The paper analyzed the Boko Haram insurgency to show the culture neglect in political conflict prevention and community harmony in Nigeria. It relied on unstructured available data, which were collected from secondary documents for descriptive analysis of a non-survey and nonexperimental qualitative study. Cultural determinism was found a suitable theoretical framework based on the papers position that pluralist paradigm, conflict theory and communication theory which bear relevance to the study are all culture deterministic. The paper revealed that Culture is the nexal gap between socio-political conflict prevention and community harmony in Nigeria. It observed that the absence of an active national culture with capacity to make divergent interests of sub-cultures or component units conform to national interest in Nigeria was the vacuum that led to the failure of early warning signals and mechanisms to prevent the Boko Haram conflict. It recommended long term and short term culture-sensitive pathways to harmony in the Nigerian national community and cautioned that the greatest danger facing communities at all levels, which consciously or otherwise, undermine the culture-dimension to socio-political relations of conflict within it, is unending or at least, not near-ending crisis, conflict, and disharmonious living, even an outright dismemberment.

Abstract:
This article critically examines how interactions between social changes, social harmony, and historical memory shape school music education in China. As a historical review and documentary analysis, it traces the historical development of music education and examines the Chinese government's role in such interactions over time. The article argues that the Chinese government uses music and music education as an influential nation-building system to enrich the politics of memory. In particular, it adapts the nation's past for political ends, and passes on state-prescribed values to its citizens with a view to legitimising its power. The dynamics and dilemmas that challenge school education result from two divergent aims: (1) to combine the functional education of Confucianism and nationalism so as to encourage social harmony and maintain national myths; and (2) to encourage popular and other world music with traditional Chinese music by using multicultural teaching strategies in music lessons. The question remains how to balance ideas of social harmony, musical cultures and nationalism in school music education in the contexts of current Chinese education policies, teacher education and the globally oriented economics of China today.

Abstract:
<p>Recently, Nigerian health sector especially the hospitals has been enervated by grievances, antagonism, unpleasantness, dissension, and apprehension. Unfortunately, the industry involved in ensuring workers’ healthcare and that of the populace has experienced tempestuous times. Slyly, issues whose pedigrees could be traced to superiority, autonomy, compensation schemes and other conditions of service gradually meandered into the public health sector leading to health workers and non-health workers being at loggerhead with one another. As such, the serenity and harmony once witnessed in government hospitals have been jumbled by incoherent differences of various groups in the hospital. This paper therefore proposes to examine the causes of disputes at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital; what has been done, and what needs to be done by all and sundry and more especially, the role National Industrial Court (NIC) has played in sustaining harmony in Nigerian health sector. Also, it will examine the role National industrial Court has previously played and can still play futuristically to enhance and sustain the desired industrial harmony in University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, the entire health sector and other sectors of the economy.</p>

Abstract:
The article analyzes the similarity between the Chinese “Harmony Culture” and the Russian “Sobornost”, which are the core of the national traditional culture and remain active and radiate vitality in the new era. The first part of the article analyzes the origins and content of the concepts of “Harmony Culture” and “Sobornost”. The Chinese “Harmony Culture” dates to the eight trigrams in ancient times, advocates harmony, “All under heaven are of one family”, “Harmonious but different”, “Golden mean”, etc. The notion of “Sobornost” goes back to the cathedral or village community, advocates unity, solidarity, tolerance, cooperation. The second part of the article analyzes the manifestation of the concepts of “Harmony Culture” and “Sobornost” in modern societies. In modern China, “Harmony Culture” is embodied in the goal of building a “Harmonious Socialist Society” and in the diplomatic concept of building a “Community of Human Destiny”. In modern Russia, the “Sobornost” is embodied in Putin’s “idea of new Russia” and various policies to revive “Russian traditional culture”. There is a high coherence and correspondence between the two concepts, which is an important ideological source to deepening mutual understanding between Russia and China, steadily developing Sino-Russian relations in the new era and preserving long-term peace on earth. The Russian and Chinese governments will be able to find common ground and overcome their differences.

Abstract:
The Muslims of Bangladesh are separated into diverse religious, political, and social groups. Several scholars tried to unite Muslims. One of the most significant Islamic intellectuals of Bangladesh, Sheikh Azizur Rahman Nesarabadi, proposed a paradigm of religious harmony to unite the Bangladeshi people and global nations. According to him, religious harmony with the doctrine of Ittihad Ma’al al-Ikhtelaf (Unity in Diversity) is the only key answer to the current disunity at the national, international, and global levels. This study examines his concept and his role in the society and politics of Bangladesh by textual analysis of primary and secondary data. After analyzing religious harmony itself, we deliver a brief biography of Sheikh Azizur Rahman, presenting his contribution to both Sharia and Sufi education, and their effects on his vision. The study then emphasizes his thoughts on four steps of religious harmony and analyses in light of current social realities in Bangladesh and the Muslim world. This paper concludes that Sheikh Nesarabadi’s thought and theory on religious harmony depend upon three foundations: common good interest, moderation, mutual respect, and the Tawhidic model. These contain the structure for religious harmony of Muslim unity whose implementation by Muslims can achieve the command of Allah to empower the Ummah to continue a leading role in the world as a Khalifah of Allah SWT almighty.
