Abstract:
The Gun-nartpa people of northern Australia use represented experience to mark prominence at narrative highpoints. The term ‘represented experience’ refers to verbal expressions that form paratactic relations with surrounding discourse. It encompasses the speech of story actors, environmental sounds, and sound-symbolic renderings of events. Such representations impart moments of drama to narrative discourse, in which shifts in perspective position the deictic centre at an imagined interpersonal space within the storyworld of the narrative. It is here, where the storyteller and audience enter the subjectivity of story actors, that elements of the narrative most clearly express its underpinning cultural proposals. The Gun-nartpa construe the cultural proposals that make up the notional structures of narrative discourse in terms of relational knowledge, in which conceptualisations of ‘belonging’ are of primary value. This relational frame of reference provides context for the interpretation of the evaluative implicatures that arise at highpoints, and lends coherence to Gun-nartpa narrative discourse.

Full text
Abstract:
Cigarette smoking is a popular habit among Arab Israelis. Over the past decade, smoking tobacco using nargila, a water pipe, has become a popular and accepted behavior among teenagers in Israel. Although the use of a water pipe (nargila) is an old habit among Middle Eastern adult males, its emergence among youth is a new finding. A representative sample of high school students in Tayibe, Israel is the subject of this survey. The sample represents data from 326 adolescents (boys 52.5% and girls 47.5%), ages 15–18, studying in one of the largest high schools in the Arab region of Israel. Our results show that a third of the sample smoked either cigarettes (36.2%) or nargila (37.1%). The gender difference among youths smoking cigarettes was 24.8% (48.0% for boys and 23.3% for girls), in contrast to 37.6% (55.0% for boys and 17.4% for girls) for nargila. There was a statistically significant correlation between cigarette and nargila smoking in populations where there is low religious inclination, increased parental smoking, and low student academic achievement. Students’ perceptions of low academic achievement (OR 4.51,p< 0.001), students’ mothers who smoke (OR 3.57,p< 0.001), and student's fathers who smoke (OR 2.75,p< 0.01) increase the youths’ chances of using nargila. Our conclusions are that smoking cigarettes and nargila are equally popular, and patterns of smoking cigarettes and nargila parallel each other. Causes that influence cigarette smoking also influence nargila smoking. Educational efforts are needed as a public health intervention.

Riella macrocarpa was described as R. helicophylla var. macrocarpa by Allorge in 1929. Later, this variety has not been used further and has not been treated correctly in the checklists. The species was separated and raised to the species rank by Segarra-Moragues et al. in 2022. Riella macrocarpa is known mainly in the western part of the Mediterranean Basin. The only record from the eastern part is from Cyprus. In the Balkan Peninsula only Riella notarisii has been reported so far from Croatia and Greece. Riella macrocarpa was found in Albania (Narta area), which means an extension of the distribution of this species to the eastern Mediterranean region. Its occurrence details in the Narta area and some notes on habitats are presented in this paper.

Abstract:
The paper presents the results of a study of heavy mineral concentrates of Kosumnerskoe gold deposit as well as the native gold from them. This gold deposit includes two gravel deposits. The granulometric composition, morphology, roundness, flatness, presence of intergrowths of gold with other minerals, as well as the character of the surface, the chemical composition and internal structure of gold, have been investigated. Based on these results, the placer gold of rivers Narta-Yu and Nester-Shor has been concluded to be similar in morphology, chemical composition and internal structure so it allows attributing them to a single type of motherload, which could be named as gold-polysulfide-quartz type. On the results of the analysis of two gold deposits of this field, the gravel deposit of the river Nester-Shor has been concluded to be elder than gravel deposit of the river Narta-Yu.

Abstract:
The coastal area of Albania is characterized by specific constructions, parts of which are the coastal wetlands and its lagooning. Lagoons are very specific bodies of water that acquire an interesting status along with the indisputable values they have. The value of knowing the physico-chemical properties of the water of the Narta Lagoon is related to many processes that occur within the lagoon and in the environments around it. The study was carried out on the Narta Lagoon to identify the chemical and physical characteristics of the water. For the determination of the physico-chemical properties, a certain methodology has been followed, which includes the establishment of a network of five stations for sampling the water of the lagoon and the determination of the level of certain physico-chemical parameters. The physico-chemical parameters that were determined are: temperature (T), pH, dissolved oxygen (O2), BOD5, S%, Cl-, ECw, NH4+, NO2-, P-PO43-, hardness. The most pronounced differences of the physico-chemical levels are those that belong to the data of the south-east station. According to the level of different components for all the stations, a degree of homogeneity in the physico-chemical composition is observed. Only the physico-chemical feature of the water at south-eastern part of the lagoon makes a difference, which is related to the influence of the urban discharge channel of the city of Vlora. The physico-chemical parameters that interpret pollution such as: dissolved oxygen (O2), BOD5, NH4+, NO2-, NO3-, PO43-, hardness is higher than in other stations of the lagoon.

Abstract:
Through a powerful investigation of Engels’ The Condition of the Working Class in England (1845), this paper aims to study the conditions of the working-class population in an Indian metropolis in present times. The paper borrows from an empirical case study of working-class population in Narela, a peripheral region in Delhi, to assess the relationship among labour, capital and state. With deepening inequality, changing labour market relations and spatial restructuring in cities, it becomes essential to understand this relationship in light of existing scholarships on South Asian cities focussing on everyday state, urban informality, social reproduction and periphery. The spatial reorganisation of Delhi was premised on aesthetic improvisation of the city, which aimed at driving the polluting/hazardous industries and working-class population to the peripheral area of Narela in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Drawing from the lived experiences of the displaced workers and new migrant workers, this study addresses concerns around housing and employment, therefore looking at a larger relationship among labour, state and capital. Explaining the process of peopling and industrialisation of this peripheral region, the paper critically analyses the contributions as well as limitations of Engels’ work in Indian urban studies.

Abstract:
The reverse migration of workers at the beginning of the first lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic forcefully crystalised underlying issues such as poverty, hunger and the precarious lives of the working class in India’s megacities. With the easing of lockdowns, workers are again on the move. Against this background, this article aims to examine and unpack the reasons that have shaped labour mobility during the ongoing pandemic. It uses the framework of mobility studies and translocality which provide a strong analytical framework to understand linkages between rural and urban areas. In the process, the article highlights the politics associated with the mobility of workers. It draws on a case study of a peripheral industrial region of Delhi known as Narela. After briefly situating the study in the historicity of Narela with respect to the Industrial Relocation Policy of Delhi and resettlement of bastis, it highlights the lived experiences of the working-class population during and after the first lockdown of the pandemic. Based on detailed in-depth telephonic interviews, the article reiterates the crucial relationship between spatially stretched social reproduction and the social embeddedness of workers which suggests that there are a host of factors affecting workers’ mobility.

Abstract:
Breathing in amphibians is a remarkably complex behavior consisting of irregular breaths that may be taken singly or in bouts that are used to deflate and inflate the lungs. The valves at the two outlets of the buccal cavity (nares and glottis) need to be finely controlled throughout the bout for the expression of these complex respiratory behaviors. In this study, we use a technique based on the calculation of the coherence spectra between respiratory variables (buccal pressure; narial airflow; and lung pressure). Coherence was also used to quantify the effects of chemoreceptor and pulmonary mechanoreceptor input on narial and glottal valve behavior on normoxic, hypoxic, and hypercapnic toads with both intact and bilaterally sectioned pulmonary vagi. We found a significant reduction in narial coherence in hypoxic vagotomized toads indicating that pulmonary mechanoreceptor feedback modulates narial opening duration. An unexpectedly high coherence between Pl and Pb during non-respiratory buccal oscillations in hypercapnic toads indicated more forceful use of the buccal pump. We concluded that the coherence function reveals behaviors that are not apparent through visual inspection of ventilatory time series.

Abstract:
Narta Lagoon is one of the biggest Lagoons in Albania. It is situated in the southern part of the Vjosa River delta. Two canals in the northwest and southwest parts of the lagoon connect it to the Adriatic Sea. These artificial canals enable the water exchange process with the sea during tidal flow. Vjose - Narta area is considered a Protected Landscape, so environmental monitoring is important. Setting and design: Water samples were taken monthly, at six evenly distributed sample stations. The study was conducted from January – to December 2018. Materials and methods: The assessment of microbial contamination was performed with the MPN method. Total coliform, fecal coliform, and fecal streptococci were tested as fecal contamination indicators. PH and salinity were the physicochemical parameters analyzed. Conclusions: the cleanest sampling station is the one near contact with the seawater. The most polluted stations are stations 2, 4, and 6. Temperature values range from 5 oC in January to 33 oC in August. Lagoon pollution is caused by an anthropogenic factor as well as a lack of appropriate cleaning strategies.

Abstract:
As of spring 2018, evacuation orders have been lifted from the entire area of Naraha Town and most of Tomioka, except for certain areas. While many evacuees have chosen their evacuation destinations as their permanent residences, some have returned to their former towns. This paper examines the factors involved in the “differentiation” and “integration” of Naraha and Tomioka residents before and after the disaster and the various forms they assume, based on the results of questionnaire surveys conducted in 2012 and 2015 as well as interviews conducted on a continuing basis since the disaster. In this process, it has become apparent that a split exists between Naraha, whose residents are moving toward “integration” with the lifting of the evacuation order, and Tomioka, whose residents are progressing toward “differentiation.”

Abstract:
Abstract Amongst Mesozoic marine reptiles, metriorhynchid crocodylomorphs were unique in evolving into pelagically adapted forms with little-to-no posterodorsal retraction of the external nares. Narial retraction is a common adaptation seen in sustained swimmers, notably occurring during cetacean evolution. Mesosaurids and the basalmost known members of ichthyosauriforms, thalattosaurians, saurosphargids, sauropterygians, pleurosaurids and mosasauroids had the external nares divided by an ossified bar, bound by multiple cranial bones and were positioned back from the tip of the rostrum. However, metriorhynchids evolved from taxa with a single external naris bound solely by the premaxilla, and positioned near the tip of an elongate rostrum. We posit that metriorhynchids were uniquely disadvantaged in evolving into sustained swimmers. Herein we describe three Late Jurassic metriorhynchid cranial rostra that display differing degrees of narial retraction. In our new phylogenetic analyses, the backwards migration of the narial fossa posterior margin occurred independently at least four times in Metriorhynchidae, whereas the backwards migration of the anterior margin only occurred twice. Although Rhacheosaurini share the backwards migration of the anterior and posterior narial margins, posterodorsal retraction occurred differently along three lineages. This culminated in the Early Cretaceous, where a rhacheosaurin evolved nares bound by the premaxilla and maxilla, and significantly posterodorsally retracted.

Abstract:
The Nariva Formation comprises mostly non-calcareous rocks with few calcareous foraminifera, but it is sandwiched geographically in a narrow (<10 km wide) band between the richly calcareous Brasso and Cipero Formations to the north and south respectively. Sixty-one samples were collected from the Nariva Formation at nine transient exposures along a transect trending NNE-SSW across southwestern Central Trinidad. The sparse planktonic foraminiferal assemblages showed the exposures to range in age between Oligocene and early middle Miocene, though many of the samples were of earliest middle Miocene age and coincident with a tectonically-induced transgressive-regressive cycle in the Brasso Formation. The Nariva assemblage at the most southerly exposure, at which the Nariva and Cipero Formations interfingered, was calcareous and of lower bathyal aspect, containing many Planulina wuellerstorfi. The assemblage at this exposure did not differ statistically between the two formations, and was thus said to be of "Cipero aspect", although the presence of rare Elphidium sp. in the Nariva parts of the exposure attests to some downslope transport. Recovery from most other exposures was typically small. Richer, predominantly agglutinated assemblages, however, were obtained from the Tarouba Community Centre, Ben Lomond Quarry, Raphael Street, and Tabaquite Heights. The assemblages were of "Brasso aspect", comprising species illustrated previously from the Brasso Formation. Three exposures were sampled at the Raphael Street site, which covered about ten hectares and had been cleared for development. The rocks at this site are patchily but richly stained with hematite and possible manganese derived from hydrothermal activity. Exposure 1 (13 samples) was subdivided into an almost barren interval (Exposure 1a, 8 samples) and an interval containing abundant Cribrostomoides carapitanus and Trochammina cf. pacifica and lesser Jarvisella karamatensis, Arenogaudryina flexilis and Glaphyrammina americana (Exposure 1b, 5 samples). This assemblage is thought to indicate low dissolved oxygen concentrations at middle to lower bathyal paleodepths. That the Brasso Formation was deposited at neritic to shallower middle bathyal paleodepths, while the Cipero Formation at lower bathyal to abyssal depths, demonstrates that the Nariva Formation was deposited on an eastward-facing paleo-slope. Exposures 2 (9 samples) and 3 (5 samples) are dominated by Simobaculites saundersi Wilson and Kaminski, n. sp., the walls of which do not incorporate calcareous particles. Many samples yielded large quantities of gypsum that, in view of (a) the paleodepth and (b) the rich planktonic foraminiferal recovery from the adjacent Brasso and Cipero Formations, is thought to reflect syndepositional dissolution of foraminiferal calcium carbonate and its precipitation as calcium sulphate. Because both the Nariva Formation and the upper Miocene to lower Pliocene Lower Cruse Member (southern Trinidad) yield primarily organically-cemented agglutinated foraminifera, a comparison is made between them. SHE analysis and different mean values of the Assemblage Turnover Index (ATI) shows the community structures in the two formations to differ. Because there is no sign of hydrothermal activity associated with the Lower Cruse Member, despite their taxonomic similarity we conclude that the agglutinated assemblages in the Nariva and Cruse Formations lived in markedly different paleoenvironments.

Abstract:
Carnivores are extremely important in ecosystem dynamics. Coatis (Procyonidae) are a group of Neotropical species with highly developed social behavior. One coati species is the Central American or white-nosed coati (Nasua narica). This work describes the analysis of two sets of mitochondrial data for a sample of N. narica covering most of the geographic distribution range of the species. The first data set analyzed 74 specimens for three mitochondrial loci; the second, 59 specimens for complete mitochondrial genomes. Our phylogenetic analyses revealed six distinct genetic groups of N. narica in southern México, Central America, and South America, which, together with three additional groups found in northern México and southern USA in a previous study, resulted in a total of nine genetically distinct groups of N. narica. The first genetic group (G1), which began to differentiate 4.1 to 3.2 million years ago, was located on the Pacific coast of Ecuador and northern Colombia. A second genetic group (G6) was detected in northern Colombia, Panama, and southern Costa Rica, being introgressed by mitochondrial DNA from the mountain coati (Nasuella olivacea). The third genetic group (G3) was located in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, and southern Guatemala. The fourth genetic group (G4) was located in north-central Guatemala and Belize. The fifth genetic group (G5) was distributed in southern México (Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Quintana Roo, and Yucatán) and northern Guatemala. Finally, the sixth genetic group (G2) was found only in Mérida (Yucatán, México). Groups G2 to G5 became mitochondrially diversified over 1.9 to 1.1 million years. All groups showed high mitochondrial genetic diversity, although the South American genetic group (G1) had the highest diversity. The northern genetic groups (G4, G5) had lower genetic diversity, except for the Merida group, which is likely composed of other undetected subgroups. The existence of six (nine, considering another study) well-developed groups in N. narica is related to female phylopatry and climatic changes during the Pleistocene. A spatial autocorrelation analysis showed a very high structure, well in line with the south-to-north colonization of the American continent by N. narica.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to describe, explain and validate the visual representation of hell from Balinese Hindu beliefs in the video game “Escape From Naraka”. The video game “Escape From Naraka” is a game with the platform adventure genre and is played solo that tells the journey of a man who enters the hell portal of the Balinese Hindu beliefs to save a woman who is sucked in by the portal. This video game is developed by the origin of Yogyakarta - Indonesia, namely XeloGames and published by Headup Games company from Germany. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research with library data method. The research was conducted by examining the visual representation of hell from Balinese Hindu beliefs in the video game “Escape From Naraka”, then linking it with writings related to the theme. In this study, the description uses facts from the data obtained as they are. The results of this study indicate that there are representations of hell that are not in accordance with Balinese Hindu teachings and display some visual representation objects from teachings or cultures outside Balinese Hinduism so that there are errors in visual representation. There are many things that may be wrong in the visual representation of Tamrisra/Tamisra Naraka in the video game "Escape From Naraka" such as Thai Statue and other objects that are not in accordance with Balinese culture. This research has an impact on the development of visualization designs in video games that can encourage players to have a misperception of culture. So that the results of this study can be a criticism and help game developers to be more careful in visualizing video games, especially those based on belief and culture.

Abstract:
For the first time, a complete list of liverworts from the thermal habitats of Baransky Volcano of Iturup Island, South Kurils is compiled and analyzed. Based on investigation of four collecting sites, 37 species of liverworts were found in direct zone of source of exposure. The presented list of species includes distribution of liverworts on thermal springs and their substrata confinement. In addition, the ecology of recorded species in the southern Kuril Islands is discussed. The size of hydrothermal field, diversity of habitats and competition with mosses and vascular plants impact on species diversity of different thermal habitats. The common species in the studied hydrothermal springs are Calypogeia pseudointegristipula, Cephalozia bicuspidata, Marsupella tubulosa, Nardia assamica, N. subclavata and Solenostoma vulcanicola. The originality of the hepatic flora of thermal springs of Baransky Vulcano is in its richness, unique species composition for each partial flora, presence of rare (Asperifolia arguta, Diplophyllum sibiricum, Nardia compressa) and peculiar (Nardia subclavata, Solenostoma vulcanicola) species.

Abstract:
Summary This paper aims to describe the natural infection with Dirofilaria immitis in Nasua narica (white-nosed coati) from Yucatán, Mexico. Two carcasses of N. narica were collected on a highway that crosses through a dense forest with patches used for agriculture and livestock activities. We performed necropsies, and two female adult nematode parasites from the heart of one specimen were collected and preserved for their molecular identification using a conventional PCR directed at a fragment of the small subunit (18S) ribosomal RNA (18S-rRNA) gene. Bioinformatic analysis showed a similarity of 99 % with three sequences from D. immitis (two from Japan). Additionally, we performed a phylogenetic tree with the recovered sequence. All these analyses showed that D. immitis is present in N. narica from Mexico. The transmission of D. immitis toward populations of Nasua sp. may be due to indirect and accidental contact with domestic dogs or wild canids that share the same environment.

Abstract:
Abstract The Narta Lagoon (59 km2) is one of the largest and most important coastal wetlands for migratory and wintering waterbirds in Albania. However, the breeding bird fauna of the site is still poorly studied. The current work aims to broaden the knowledge on the list of breeding bird species, their numbers, distribution and threats in the zone (with a focus on waterbirds). Relevant information for spring migrants is also provided. The survey consisted of two field visits in April and May 2016. The entire wetland area was covered and all its habitats were visited. In total, 136 bird species were observed. The total number of breeding birds was estimated at 6,400 pairs of 85 species. The most abundant breeders were the Little Tern Sternula albifrons with 377 breeding pairs (bp), Avocet Recurvirostra avosetta with 121 bp, and Kentish Plover Charadrius alexandrinus with 96 bp. In total, 3,461 individuals belonging to 80 species were recorded as non-breeders. At the species level, the most numerous were Kentish Plover with 1,100 individuals (ind.), Marsh Sandpiper Tringa stagnatilis with 600 ind., Greater Flamingo Phoenicopterus roseus with 321 ind., Common Shelduck Tadorna tadorna with 130 ind., Spotted Redshank Tringa erythropus with 120 ind. and Dunlin Calidris alpina with 100 ind. Breeding birds assemblages within the main studied habitats (salinas, lagoon, pine forests, mixed farmland, rocky hills with olive trees, and grasslands with bushes near the coast) and threats (the most significant of which were illegal shooting, trapping and dangerous power grid) are also described. Recommendations for future bird-friendly management, appropriate conservation activities and eco-tourism in the area are made.

Abstract:
Narita 104 virus is a human pathogen belonging to the norovirus (family Caliciviridae) genogroup II. Noroviruses cause epidemic gastroenteritis worldwide. To explore the potential of developing a plant-based vaccine, a plant optimized gene encoding Narita 104 virus capsid protein (NaVCP) was expressed transiently inNicotiana benthamianausing a tobacco mosaic virus expression system. NaVCP accumulated up to approximately 0.3 mg/g fresh weight of leaf at 4 days postinfection. Initiation of hypersensitive response-like symptoms followed by tissue necrosis necessitated a brief infection time and was a significant factor limiting expression. Transmission electron microscopy of plant-derived NaVCP confirmed the presence of fully assembled virus-like particles (VLPs). In this study, an optimized method to express and partially purify NaVCP is described. Further, partially purified NaVCP was used to immunize mice by intranasal delivery and generated significant mucosal and serum antibody responses. Thus, plant-derived Narita 104 VLPs have potential for use as a candidate subunit vaccine or as a component of a multivalent subunit vaccine, along with other genotype-specific plant-derived VLPs.
