Abstract:
The Gun-nartpa people of northern Australia use represented experience to mark prominence at narrative highpoints. The term ‘represented experience’ refers to verbal expressions that form paratactic relations with surrounding discourse. It encompasses the speech of story actors, environmental sounds, and sound-symbolic renderings of events. Such representations impart moments of drama to narrative discourse, in which shifts in perspective position the deictic centre at an imagined interpersonal space within the storyworld of the narrative. It is here, where the storyteller and audience enter the subjectivity of story actors, that elements of the narrative most clearly express its underpinning cultural proposals. The Gun-nartpa construe the cultural proposals that make up the notional structures of narrative discourse in terms of relational knowledge, in which conceptualisations of ‘belonging’ are of primary value. This relational frame of reference provides context for the interpretation of the evaluative implicatures that arise at highpoints, and lends coherence to Gun-nartpa narrative discourse.

Abstract:
Cigarette smoking is a popular habit among Arab Israelis. Over the past decade, smoking tobacco using nargila, a water pipe, has become a popular and accepted behavior among teenagers in Israel. Although the use of a water pipe (nargila) is an old habit among Middle Eastern adult males, its emergence among youth is a new finding. A representative sample of high school students in Tayibe, Israel is the subject of this survey. The sample represents data from 326 adolescents (boys 52.5% and girls 47.5%), ages 15–18, studying in one of the largest high schools in the Arab region of Israel. Our results show that a third of the sample smoked either cigarettes (36.2%) or nargila (37.1%). The gender difference among youths smoking cigarettes was 24.8% (48.0% for boys and 23.3% for girls), in contrast to 37.6% (55.0% for boys and 17.4% for girls) for nargila. There was a statistically significant correlation between cigarette and nargila smoking in populations where there is low religious inclination, increased parental smoking, and low student academic achievement. Students’ perceptions of low academic achievement (OR 4.51,p< 0.001), students’ mothers who smoke (OR 3.57,p< 0.001), and student's fathers who smoke (OR 2.75,p< 0.01) increase the youths’ chances of using nargila. Our conclusions are that smoking cigarettes and nargila are equally popular, and patterns of smoking cigarettes and nargila parallel each other. Causes that influence cigarette smoking also influence nargila smoking. Educational efforts are needed as a public health intervention.

Abstract:
Riella macrocarpa was described as R. helicophylla var. macrocarpa by Allorge in 1929. Later, this variety has not been used further and has not been treated correctly in the checklists. The species was separated and raised to the species rank by Segarra-Moragues et al. in 2022. Riella macrocarpa is known mainly in the western part of the Mediterranean Basin. The only record from the eastern part is from Cyprus. In the Balkan Peninsula only Riella notarisii has been reported so far from Croatia and Greece. Riella macrocarpa was found in Albania (Narta area), which means an extension of the distribution of this species to the eastern Mediterranean region. Its occurrence details in the Narta area and some notes on habitats are presented in this paper.

Syftet med föreliggande uppsats var att, genom litteraturstudier av C. S. Lewis Narnia-serie samt J. R. R. Tolkiens Härskarringen, undersöka förekomsten av kristusgestaltning i nämnda litteratur. Genom att studera nämnda verk var avsikten även att undersöka de eventuella kristna influenser som återspeglar författarnas egen tro och närmare studera de tänkbara paralleller med Bibelns Kristus som förekommer. Utifrån de analyser som görs av texterna i arbetet blir slutsatsen att även om det finns klara influenser från Bibelns Kristusgestalt kan man inte i båda böckerna se en klar kristusgestalt. När det gäller Härskarringen finns där inte en klart framträdande Kristus även om de kristna influenserna är många. När det gäller Narnia är de kristna influenserna tydligare och parallellerna med Kristus framträder klarare.

Abstract:
This essay seeks to investigate identity formation and the role of the oriental other, the Calormene, in C.S. Lewis popular children’s books, The Chronicles of Narnia, as well as the threat levelled at Narnia and what it constitutes. The oriental other as a threatening corruption is a common image in European colonial discourse, therefore a brief summary on post-colonial theory and critique thereupon and a background on the occidental attitude towards the discursive Orient based mainly on Orientalism by Edward W. Said, as well as a short account of Emile Durkheims theory on social divisions of labour and identity formation in groups is provided in the first theoretical section, Images of the Other. In the second section the Narnian identity and what it is composed of is examined. Here I argue that the Narnian identity is connected to an ideal and primordial English identity. This is shown primarily through the linking of Narnian nature and food with the English countryside and its “plain food”. Consequently, food in the Narnian space possesses a great power. The food of the Other corrupts while the hearty Narnian or English food holds the power to redeem those corrupted. The third section is dedicated to the threat against Narnia. This is composed mainly of Calormenes and Witches, both of which are described to be ancient and whose evil, I argue, nonetheless is an eventual consequence of rational thinking and modernity. In the fourth section the Calormene, the Other in Narnia, is examined. The Calormene society is inextricably linked to slavery, which is portrayed as the utmost consequence of rationality, and characterized by its spiritual poverty. This section also discusses how the Narnian can be corrupted and turned “Other”.

Denna uppsats är en analys av Narnias berättelse och dess underliggande budskap. I dennaundersökning har det undersökts hur Bibeln och kristen tro framkommer i Narnias berättelse.Detta arbete handlar också om den kritik Lewis fått för hur han framställer landet Carlormen,islam, kvinnor och hur den kritiken kan bemötas. Denna undersökning är en litteraturstudieoch för att få svar på frågeställningarna har en hermeneutisk metod använts. Genom attstudera och tolka Narnias berättelser och texter så kan vi se att kristen tro framkommer tydligtom vi är inställda på att leta efter dessa kopplingar. Slutsatsen är att det finns många argumentsom grund för den kritik som Lewis har fått för att skriva både islamofobiskt ochkvinnoförnedrande, men att det samtidigt också finns mycket som talar emot dessa argument.

Uppsatsen analyserar C.S. Lewis bok Narnia - Häxan och Lejonet (1950), översatt av Birgitta Hammar (1959 publicerad av bokförlaget Bonnier Carlsen (2016) och Andrew Adamssons film med samma namn (2005). Syftet med studien är att studera vad som händer gällande karaktärer, miljö och tema i Narnias - Häxan och Lejonet, när en adaption sker mellan bok och film. Analysens resultat är att boken och filmen är två likvärdiga medier med minimala skillnader. De största skillnaderna som framgår är att filmen enbart har indirekta miljöbeskrivning, samt att man arbetat med ansiktsuttryck och musik för att förstärka vissa känslor i filmen. I undervisningssammanhang är Narnia - Häxan och Lejonet en lämplig berättelse att arbeta med, men valet av verk bör baseras på vad syftet med undervisning är.

Abstract:
The fate of Susan Pevensie has been one of the most controversial and interesting topics of debate about The Chronicles of Narnia since readers realized that she was no longer a friend of Narnia. Many critics have condemned C. S. Lewis for being sexist, thus making the stereotypically feminine Susan with her love of parties, nylons, and lipstick ineligible for salvation. This thesis proposes to look at Susan's choices and fate from the perspective of moral imagination. It argues that Lewis did not bar Susan from heaven to belittle femininity, but rather to comment on the consequences of choice, belief, and the vital exercise of moral imagination. Placing Susan in a fairy-tale world highlights the differences between what is real and what seems impossible and pushes both Susan and the readers to develop their own moral imagination in the pursuit of belief in the truth. Looking at Susan's ambiguous fate and comparing her story to other characters' journeys throughout the series shows readers the power of the imagination and offers hope that Susan, like the rest of her siblings, may make it to Aslan's Country after all.

Abstract:
In this paper I focus on the Nartic story concerning the invention of the fændyr by Syrdon. I present eight versions of the same story, pointing out their similarities and dissimilarities. The comparative analysis of different narrative sequences shows us that the fændyr story entails a compact narrative nucleus, comprising three core events, the death of Syrdon’s sons, the performance of a domestic funeral offer by Syrdon and a final part in which Syrdon shared his invention with the Narts. This story came to frequently be built on another narrative nucleus, which concerned a cattle raid performed by Syrdon. Variants and variations on common themes connected to the fændyr-story thus reveal the fluid workings of the Nartic oral tradition.

Približno polovica svetovnega prebivalstva prebiva v ruralnih okoljih, pa vendar se študije večinoma osredotočajo na proučevanje policijske dejavnosti v urbanih okoljih. Narava izvajanja policijskega dela v skupnosti bi morala biti v veliki meri vezana prav na specifične značilnosti skupnosti, zato nas zanima, kaj kažejo študije, osredotočene na policijsko delo v skupnosti v ruralnem okolju. Analiza raziskovalnih člankov pokaže, da jih lahko po tematiki uvrstimo v štiri skupine: mnenja prebivalcev o policiji, narava policijskega dela v skupnosti, odnos med policijskim delom v skupnosti in stopnjo kriminalitete, način opravljanja in izzivi policijskega dela v skupnosti. Ugotovitve kažejo, da je policijsko delo v skupnosti v ruralnem okolju po eni strani velik izziv zaradi kadrovske podhranjenosti, nedostopnosti terena in centralizacije policije, po drugi pa ključni element prevencije in odkrivanja kriminalitete. Narava policijskega dela v skupnosti je v ruralnih okoljih drugačna kot v urbanih, ruralni policist pa mora imeti drugačne lastnosti in obvladovati drugačne veščine kot njegov urbani kolega.

Uloga znanja i obrazovanja je primarna za razvoj svih segmenata savremenog društva. Sve naučne discipline imaju svoj značaj, svoje postavljene ciljeve u izgradnji kvalitetnog ljudskog potencijala. U ovom pravcu historija je u odgojno-obrazovnom procesu jako značajna, posebno u multietničkim društvima. Historija kao nastavni predmet kroz sticanje znanja o prošlosti stvara predstavu o svakom pojedincu, predstavu o sebi i predstavu o drugim. Zbog toga se često stavlja u funkciju podizanja nacionalne svijesti, patriotizma te homogenosti države, što je najčešće dovodilo do stvaranja predrasuda, podjela i diskriminacije naroda u državama regiona. Države nastale na ruševinama jugoslavenskog ideološkog sistema ne samo da imaju potrebu već moraju raditi na jačanju razumijevanja i povjerenja među narodima, posebno kroz nastavu koja će imati za cilj uklanjanje predrasuda i naglašavanje pozitivnog međusobnog uticaja različitih naroda i država. Republika Sjeverna Makedonija pravi napore da rastereti nastavne sadržaje koji stvaraju podjele i predrasude. Udžbenici trebaju odražavati postavljene ciljeve nastavnih programa, kao i metodologiju pisanja udžbenika. Nastavni programi predviđaju izučavanje historije makedonskog naroda, ali i historije ustavotvornih naroda i država njihovog porijekla srazmjerno njihovom procentualnom učešću u ukupnom stanovništvu. Bošnjaci su ustavotvorni narod RS Makedonije, a njihova matica država je Bosna i Hercegovina. Ovim radom želimo analizirati koliko su sadržaji o Bosni i Hercegovini i Bošnjacima zastupljeni u udžbenicima te koliko su ispravni. Ne samo zbog značaja Bošnjaka za izgradnju i razvoj makedonske države i društva već i zbog mnogih zajedničkih viševjekovnih historijskih procesa, zajedničkih država čiji su dio bili od XV do kraja XX vijeka. Jako je važno da sadržaji o Bosni i Hercegovini i Bošnjacima budu zastupljeni i pravilno predstavljeni mladoj populaciji. Ukoliko obrazovanje ispuni svoju misiju koja predstavlja ključni faktor za međusobno razumijevanje u multietničkom i multireligioznom makedonskom društvu, možemo očekivati i njegov dugoročni socijalni i ekonomski razvoj. Ovim istraživanjem želimo utvrditi faktičko stanje ovog aspekta udžbenika Historije iza kojih stoje institucije koje se brinu za razvoj kompetentnog, kreativnog, građanski orijentiranog i etički izgrađenog ljudskog kapitala.

Abstract:
Izborni sistem Bosne i Hercegovine (dalje: BiH) zasniva se na pozitivnim ustavnopravnim rješenjima koja u svom izvornom obliku, kako je poznato, ne omogućavaju konsekventno ostvarenje opšte-prihvaćenih međunarodnih demokratskih standarda u pogledu jednakosti biračkog prava građana. O tome je, u pojedinačnim slučajevima, Evropski sud za ljudska prava u Strazburu već zauzeo stav. Konstantno ignorisanje obaveza u vezi sa usaglašavanjem unutrašnjeg pravnog poretka BiH sa međunarodnim demokratskim standardima i presudama Evropskog suda za ljudska prava koje predstavljaju obaveze ustavno-pravne naravi dovelo je, ne samo do daljeg kršenja biračkih prava građana po etničkoj osnovi, nego i do daljeg razvoja nedemokratskih političkih koncepata koji teže za uvođenjem novih oblika diskriminacije u fazi izbora. Pri tome se pojmovni instrumentarij tumači i obrazlaže na do sada nepoznat i suštinski pogrešan način u teoriji i praksi ustavnog i javnog prava – poput „legitimnog predstavljanja konstitutivnih naroda”, „autentičnih predstavnika konstitutivnih naroda”, kao i nastojanja na „nacionalizaciji” konstitutivnih naroda i sl., a u namjeri bilo kakvog teorijskog utemeljenja nekonsekventnih političkih stavova. Pored toga, u uvjetima nedemokratskih ustavnih rješenja i uzimajući u obzir stvarnu moć donošenja odluka unutar institucija, izbornog pobjednika presudno ne određuju građani na izborima, što su pokazali i posljednji opšti izbori 2018. godine nego je, između ostalog, apsolutni izborni pobjednik u smislu formiranja vlasti i mogućnosti blokade implementacije izbornih rezultata promovisan odlukom/Uputstvom Centralne izborne komisije BiH u pogledu raspodjele delegatskih mjesta u Domu naroda Parlamenta Federacije BiH, te je tako (gotovo unaprijed!) određen nekonsekventnim ustavnim rješenjima i izbornom geometrijom – što dodatno diskvalificira poziciju građanina i opšte-prihvaćene međunarodne demokratske standarde bez kojih demokratsko društvo ne može da postoji i da se razvija. Sve to ozbiljno dovodi u pitanje demokratski legitimitet i kapacitet institucija javne vlasti i princip vladavine prava, te izvršavanje obaveza pravne i političke naravi na putu evropskih integracija. Suprotno tome, pravne obaveze BiH u pravcu reforme izbornog prava, ma koliko različitih modaliteta mogu da imaju, prilično su jasne i podrazumijevaju, na prvom mjestu, jednakost aktivnog i pasivnog biračkog prava građana bez obzira na etničku pripadnost ili kakvu drugu okolnost, što je i predmet razmatranja ovim povodom.

Koliko god politička demokracija nije idealnotipsko rješenje za ostvarenje principa društvene pravde i jednakosti, na današnjemu stupnju razvoja ona znači najmanje odstupanje od tih principa. Nažalost, unutar nje su mnoga rješenja koja znače, manje ili više očigledan odmak i od onoga što politička demokracija može dosegnuti. Bosanskohercegovačko iskustvo, utemeljeno na Izbornom zakonu iz 2001. godine, u prilog tome najzornije svjedoči. Jer nedorečenosti, koje su u njemu i više nego evidentne, su 20 godina njegova funkcioniranja bile razlogom za nezadovoljstvo gotovo svih aktera u bosanskohercegovačkoj političkoj areni. Stoga se od prvog dana njegova života mogu pratiti i kritike na veliki dio, u njemu ugrađenih rješenja pri čemu se i zakon nerijetko optužuje kao uzrok individualne i kolektivne neravnopravnosti bosanskohercegovačkih građana i naroda, ali i zahtjevi da se zakon mijenja kako bi se eliminirali uzroci nejednakosti, neravnopravnosti, disfunkcionalnosti državnih i inih institucija itd. Pitanje je, međutim, koji smjer i pravac promjena u izbornomu zakonodavstvu tim zahtjevima i eliminaciji apostrofiranih uzroka mogu udovoljiti? U ovom radu su ponuđeni neki od principa koji bi na tom tragu mogli biti.

The analysis was based on the translation of the Narts Tales into the Russian language. The analysis revealed that translating anthroponyms in general and charactonym in particular translators do not always employ transcription or transliteration. It is a tough process which requires a wide range of strategies a translator has in his disposal.

Este Working paper saca a la luz del conocimiento un manuscrito poético inédito del siglo XVIII que narra, en versos de arte menor, el asesinato del secretario del virrey del Nuevo Reino de Granada en 1780. Este objeto de estudio constituye la primera parte de una extensa elegía cuya conclusión ya fue estudiada y publicada en la década de 1970 y se concentra en describir el castigo a los delincuentes. Como pregunta de investigación, el trabajo indaga cómo este inédito artefacto literario representa la violencia en el Nuevo Reino de Granada. Se explora, además, cómo reputados historiadores y académicos describen las características socioeconómicas de la época para relacionar y entender mejor el contenido del poema con el contexto social en el que se inscribe. Como sustento teórico, el texto retoma la noción freudiana del unheimlich para discutir sobre la perplejidad que produce ver tratado un tema tan macabro en una forma poética. También se consideran las observaciones de Michel Foucault sobre el castigo y la función de los cuerpos sobre los que éste se inflige. Finalmente, se discute el aporte del historiador William Cronon quien reconoce el poder de silenciar unas voces y privilegiar otras, según la agenda ideológica de quien crea o narra una historia. Como conclusión, se observa el fuerte papel de la religión en la incorporación del perdón y la misericordia divina como ingrediente fundamental para mitigar la severidad del castigo. Se propone que tal elemento de fe forma parte protagónica de la narración como una forma de expiar el hecho de que el castigo sea aún más cruel y descarnado que la forma como se describe el crimen mismo.

Se describen las estrategias empleadas por ambos actores y cómo finalmente arribaron a concordar iniciativas educacionales trascendentes para el desarrollo de la Reforma Educativa y de la profesión docente. La negociación logró imponer la cooperación por sobre el conflicto, no se quedó en la reivindicación salarial y encontró ámbitos de trabajo decisivos para mejorar, en conjunto, la calidad, la equidad y la participación en el sistema escolar. Zapadni Balkan suočava se s dvostrukim izazovom ekstremizma na internetu. Internetske pla orme olakšavaju posebno izlaganje regije raznolikim međunarodnim ekstremističkim narativima. Istodobno se ekstremističke akcije i nara vi iz cijelog svijeta opravdavaju regionalnim povijes ma i geopolitikom. Međutim, navedeni je fenomen dio većeg trenda koji naglašava sve veći izazov koji stvara širenje transnacionalnih ekstremističkih ideologija na internetskim platformama: od nasilnih džihadista do ekstremne desnice. Na zapadnom Balkanu to podrazumijeva niz posebnih rizika.

El metro de San Pablo es una empresa pública perteneciente al Estado de San Pablo. Inaugurada al comienzo de los años '70, opera 62 km de líneas y transporta 700 millones de pasajeros por año. Es, muy seguramente, el mejor proveedor de transporte urbano masivo en Brasil al extremo que en San Pablo se menciona la "calidad metro" como un estándar de alta calidad de servicio. Esta nota narra el proceso que condujo a que la nueva línea 4, Amarilla, del metro de San Pablo, sea construida y gestionada bajo criterios de Asociación Público-Privada (APP), esto es, insertando una línea concesionada al sector privado en un metro de gestión estatal, y describe la manera creativa en que los mayores riesgos del proyecto fueron distribuidos entre las partes, públicas y privadas, intervinientes.

Este informe corto narra la experiencia del proyecto Cultura de Datos en la Trata de Seres Humanos, liderado por el Instituto Universitario de Estudios sobre Migraciones (IUEM) en colaboración con Unicef Comité Español. Durante más de dos años, el proyecto ha investigado las tendencias, lagunas y retos a la hora de recoger, analizar, compartir y utilizar los datos en materia de trata de seres humanos con el fin de poder tomar mejores decisiones. Una vez hecho el análisis, se ha servido de dos herramientas esenciales para presentar dos posibles soluciones: una estadística y una tecnológica. Con la primera, se ha logrado estimar la “cifra oculta” de víctimas de trata en la Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid para el periodo 2015-2019. Con la segunda, se han sentado las bases para una aplicación tecnológica basada en tecnología blockchain permita el acceso a derechos de las personas en procesos de trata y explotación, así como la interoperabilidad institucional de las organizaciones y autoridades que las asisten.
