Abstract:
AbstractThis paper is an expedition study analysing the features of trips of ‘nature-based tourists’ from amongst daytrip tourists in Japan with the aim of seeking for expansion possibilities of Japanese-type ecotourism. Approximately 400,000 people visit Nabari City in Mie Prefecture, the target destination in this paper, on an annual basis with the aim of enjoying the nature. Samples used for analysis in this paper have been collected from 437-day trip visitors from amongst 500 visitors to major sight-seeing spots of Nabari City from October to December 2014. It has been found through analysis that whilst nature-based daytrip visitors in Japan were satisfied with natural environments themselves, they were less satisfied with regards to activities and services during their trips. Cluster analyses for grasping tendencies per markets were performed and disclosed.

Abstract:
Heavy rain with Typhoon 18 threatened the Nabari River Basin, Kansai region, with inundation early on the morning of October 8, 2009. The Nabari River is a tributary of the Yodo river basin that contains Osaka and Kyoto and runs through Nabari City, which is a residential zone a commutable distance from Osaka city. In the upper reaches of the Nabari, there are three multipurpose dams – Shorenji Dam, Hinachi Dam, and Murou Dam – that are operated by the Kizugawa Integrated Dam Control and Management Office (KIDCMO), a branch office of the Japan Water Agency (JWA). Since it rained heavily downstream from the three dams, regular operation of the dams complying with given flood control regulations appeared unable to save Nabari City from inundation. The JWA and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) therefore conducted collaborative operation of the three dams to avoid inundating the city. In this case, flood control operation of the three dams commenced at an early stage before inflow reached defined flood discharge in consideration of the water level of the Nabari River, rainfall conditions, and the capacity of reservoirs. During operation, discharge from dams was changed in a timely manner and appropriately through collaborative operation of the three dams in order to maximize the effectiveness of all flood control capacities of reservoirs based on the latest rainfall forecast technology and runoff analysis. The use of improved rainfall forecast technology and runoff analysis models enabled effective application of flexible operation protocols. It is estimated that this operation has resulted in a 1.5 m decrease in the water level at the Nabari design control point and saved approximately 1,200 households from inundation. Considering recent climate change, it is possible to have extreme rainfall more often. The proof of the adaptability of this flexible operation is quite meaningful not only for flood damage mitigation in the downstream but also for future prospects of flood control by dams.

Abstract:
To understand the algae migration characteristics in the fresh water red tide, we performed a field survey in the Shorenji Reservoir located in Nabari City, Japan. From the analysis of the field data, it is found that the patterns of vertical distributions of the indices representing biomass are very different in the morning and the afternoon. Since some water quality indices have reverse fluctuations between the surface and the bottom layer in respect of the time series changes and the total biomass of the vertical water column is relatively constant, it is concluded that vertical and daily biomass variation of red tide alga is caused by its daily migration, that is the movement from the bottom layer to the surface in the morning and the reverse movement in the afternoon.

Latar belakang: Crude Palm Oil (CPO) adalah minyak sayur yang diproduksi oleh kelapa sawit yang ditemukan di Indonesia, kelapa sawit memiliki kualitas yang dapat ditentukan melalui kandungan digliserida dan tingkat asam lemak bebas. Tingkat FFA yang diizinkan oleh pemerintah adalah 0,3% menurut SNI 01-3741-2002, minyak goreng yang telah digunakan secara teratur dengan temperatur tinggi dapat menyebabkan minyak menjadi tidak sehat dan tidak cocok untuk dikonsumsi. Kecamatan Tembalang, kota Semarang merupakan salah satu dari sekian banyak daerah di wilayah Jawa Tengah, terdapat beberapa pedagang yang menjual penyetan, dan lokasinya berada di pinggir jalan, di Kecamatan Tembalang, Semarang. Tujuan utama dari studi ini adalah untuk menganalisa kandungan asam lemak bebas pada minyak goreng.Metode: Sebuah studi deskriptif observasional dengan pendekatan lintas sectional. Sampel yang 42 sampel dari 3 kali sampling per penyetan kios dengan pengulangan dari 2 kali dengan total sampling. Variabel dalam studi ini adalah kadar asam lemak bebas sebagai variabel dependen dan suhu, pH, dan frekuensi penggorengan sebagai variabel independen. Analisis data dilakukan oleh tes Spearmen Rank.Hasil: Hasil uji laboratorium kadar asam lemak bebas dalam 7 sampel minyak goreng (16,7%) melebihi standar kualitas yang ditentukan. Hasil tes hubungan menunjukkan bahwa suhu (p-nilai = 0,006), pH (p-nilai = 0,038), penggorengan frekuensi (p-nilai = 1 berkaitan dengan tingkat asam lemak bebas dalam minyak goreng yang digunakan oleh pedagang penyeting sepanjang jalan Sirojudin dan BanjarsariSimpulan: Kesimpulan dari studi ini adalah tingkat kadar asam lemak bebas dalam minyak goreng berkaitan dengan suhu, pH, dan frekuensi menggoreng.Kata kunci: Asam lemak bebas; minyak nabati; warung makananABSTRACT Title: Relationship types of cooking oil, temperature, and Ph to the free fatty acid levels in cooking oil Penyetan tradersBackground: Crude Palm Oil (CPO) is a vegetable oil produced by oil palm found in Indonesia, palm oil has a quality that can be determined through the content of diglycerides and the levels of free fatty acids. The level of FFA allowed by the Government is 0.3% according to SNI 01-3741-2002, cooking oil that has been used regularly with high temperatures can cause oil to be unhealthy and not suitable for consumption. Tembalang Subdistrict, Semarang City is one of the many areas in the Central Java region, there are some traders who sell penyetan, and the location is on the roadside, in the Tembalang District of Semarang. The main objective of this study is to analyze the free fatty acid content on cooking oilMethod: An observational descriptive study with cross sectional approach. The samples were 42 samples from 3 times the sampling per penyetan stall with repetitions of 2 times with total sampling. The variables in this study are Free Fatty Acid Levels as the dependent variable and temperature, pH, and frying frequency as independent variables. Data analysis was performed by the Spearmen Rank test.Result: Laboratory test results of free fatty acid levels in 7 cooking oil samples (16.7%) exceeded the specified quality standard. The relationship test results show that temperature (p-value = 0.006), pH (p-value = 0.038), Frying Frequency (p-value = 1) relates to the level of free fatty acids in cooking oil used by penyeting traders along Jalan Sirojudin and BanjarsariConclusion: The conclusion of this study is the level of free fatty acids in cooking oil is related to temperature, pH, type of cooking oil, and the color of cooking oil.Keywords: Free fatty acid; edible oil; food stalls

Abstract:
Flies are vectors belonging to the phylum Arthropoda and the order Diptera which can also act as nuisance animals. Green fly is one of the main vectors in the spread of various types of diseases such as: diarrhea, dysentery, cholera, typhus, and viral digestive tract diseases. To prevent and minimize the occurrence of health problems in humans, control efforts are carried out using natural ingredients that function as organic insecticides that are environmentally friendly and do not cause health hazards later, namely by using fragrant pandan leaves (Chrysomya megacephala). The aim of the activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of the community on how to make cheap and environmentally friendly organic insecticides. The implementation method is in the form of counseling and demonstration of making organic insecticides. Results: Community service activities were carried out at the palapa restaurant, Jalan Arifin Achmad, East Sidomulyo Village, Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru City. The participants of the activity were traders, totaling 10 people. Before being given the counseling the participants were unable to answer the questions given but after being given the counseling almost 90% of the participants were able to answer the questions correctly. There is an increase in public knowledge and understanding about the dangers of flies to health and the benefits of fragrant pandan leaves as an organic insecticide. Recommendation: It is hoped that the community will be able to anticipate fly control by using organic insecticides that are cheap, easy and environmentally friendly. The public can also make this fragrant pandan leaf powder product as a household business that can be sold. ABSTRAK Lalat merupakan vektor yang termasuk dalam filum Arthopoda dan ordo Diptera yang juga dapat bertindak sebagai binatang pengganggu. Lalat hijau adalah salah satu vektor utama dalam penyebaran berbagai jenis penyakit seperti: diare, disentri, kolera, tifus, dan virus penyakit saluran pencernaan. Untuk mencegah dan meminimalisir terjadinya masalah kesehatan pada manusia maka di lakukan upaya pengendalian dengan menggunakan bahan alami yang berfungsi sebagai insektisida organik yang ramah lingkungan dan tidak menimbulkan bahaya kesehatan nantinya, yaitu dengan menggunakan Daun Pandan wangi (Chrysomya megacephala). Tujuan Kegiatan adalah Meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat bagaimana cara membuat insektisida organik yang murah dan ramah lingkungan. Metode pelaksanaan dalam bentuk penyuluhan dan demonstrasi pembuatan insektisida organik. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan di rumah makan palapa Jalan Arifin Achmad Kelurahan Sidomulyo Timur Kecamatan Marpoyan Damai Kota Pekanbaru. Peserta kegiatan adalah pedagang yang berjumlah 10 orang. Sebelum diberikan penyuluhan peserta tidak mampu menjawab pertanyaan tentang bahaya lalat dan insektisida nabati tetapi setelah diberikan penyuluhan hampir 90 % peserta mampu menjawab pertanyaan dengan benar. Terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat tentang bahaya lalat bagi kesehatan dan manfaat daun pandan wangi sebagai insektisida organik. Rekomendasi ini diharapkan masyarakat mampu mengantisipasi pengendalian lalat dengan menggunakan insektisida organik yang murah, mudah dan ramah lingkungan. Masyarakat juga dapat menjadikan produk serbuk daun pandan wangi ini sebagai rumah tangga yang bisa di jual.
