Abstract:

Two new species of Naarda Walker, 1866 (Lepidoptera: Erebidae: Hypeninae), N. merkli sp. n. from Sulawesi and N. vojnitsi sp. n. from Vietnam are described. The former species is closely related to N. bisignata Walker, 1866, the type species of the genus, while the latter one is similar in facies to several congeners, but its genitalia are remarkably different from all known Naarda species. An identification key is given, for the first time, to the straw-coloured Naarda species.

Abstract:

Pähkämöludetta (Macrolophus pygmaeus) käytetään Suomessa lähinnä ansarijauhiaisten torjuntaan kasvihuonetomaatilla. Talvikaudella, jolloin suurin osa valosta tuotetaan suurpainenatriumlampuilla (SPNL), luteiden lisääntymisessä on kuitenkin ollut ongelmia. Oletettiin, että valo-olosuhteet saattavat olla syynä huonoon lisääntymiseen, koska SPNL:n spektri poikkeaa päivänvalosta. Suomen ympärivuotisilla tomaattiviljelmillä päivänpituus on aina vähintään 16 h tekovalotuksen ansiosta. Välimeren alueelta kotoisin oleva ludelaji saattaa reagoida negatiivisesti näin pitkään päivään. Kolmen kasvatuskammiokokeen tavoitteena oli selvittää vaikuttaako päivän pituus tai valon laatu pähkämöluteen lisääntymiseen tai kehitysnopeuteen. Ensimmäisessä kokeessa tutkittiin vain päivän pituuden vaikututusta käyttäen päivänvaloloisteputkia (PVLP). Toisessa kokeessa käytettiin SPNL:ja sekä SPNL:jen ja punaisten ledien yhdistelmää. Kolmannen kokeen tavoitteena on tutkia tarkemmin SPNL:illa tuotettujen päivänpituuksien vaikutusta luteisiin. Päivän pituudet (valoisat h:pimeät h) ensimmäisessä kokeessa olivat 16:8, 13:11, 11:13 ja 8:16 h, ja toisessa kokeessa 16:8 ja 11:8+5 valoa, jossa 5 h valojakson lopusta tuotettiin punaisella led-valolla, koska oletettiin, että luteet eivät näe punaista. Kasvatuskammioissa luteet elivät yksittäin 9 cm:n petrimaljoilla ravintonaan jauhokoisan munia ja tupakanlehtikiekko, jolle ne myös munivat. Ensimmäisen kokeen PVLP-kammioissa sekä naaras- että koirastoukat kehittyivät nopeimmin aikuisiksi 13:11 päivässä ja toisessa kokeessa 16:8 päivässä, jälleen PVL:lla valaistussa kammiossa. Ensimmäisessä kokeessa naaraat munivat elinaikanaan enemmän 8 ja 11 h:n päivässä kuin 16 h päivässä. Päivän pituus ei vaikuttanut naaraiden elinikään eikä toukiksi kuoriutuneiden munien määrään. Mikään päivänpituus ei siis aiheuttanut munadiapaussia. Toisessa kokeessa naaraat munivat elinaikanaan eniten 16 h valojaksossa, josta 11 h oli tuotettu SPNL:illa ja 5 h punaisilla ledeillä, mutta tilastollisesti ko. munamäärä oli sama kuin pelkillä SPNL:illa tuotetussa 16 h:n päivässä. Valon laatu (PVLP, SPNL, SPNL +led) ei vaikuttanut naaraiden elinikään. Kolmannessa kokeessa selvitetään vielä, vaikuttaako päivänpituus naaraiden elinikäiseen munamäärään myös SPNL:illa tuotetussa valossa. Tulosten perusteella sekä päivän pituus että valon laatu vaikuttavat pähkömöluteen lisääntymiseen. SPNL:lla tuotettu 16 h:n päivä ei haittaa luteiden lisääntymistä, joten luteiden huonon lisääntymisen syyt ympärivuotisilla tomaattiviljelmillä ovat muualla. Osa SPNL:illa tuotetusta valojaksosta on korvattavissa punaisella led-valolla ilman haitallisia vaikutuksia pähkämöpetoluteen lisääntymiseen. Tällä tuloksella voi olla merkitystä jatkossa korvattaessa SPNL:illa tuotettua tekovaloa led-valoilla kasvihuoneiden energiankäytön pienentämiseksi, sillä luteiden toiminta ei häiriinny ainakaan punaisessa valossa.

Abstract:

Naara-Aaba is an indigenous wine innovated by a woman who could predict a beautiful end to her vision of brewing wine from the sacred but exotic fruit kiwi. The brand was launched in 2017 at Hong village of Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh by Tage Rita Takhe; an engineer turned entrepreneur through her venture M/s Lambu Subu Food & Beverages. The brand was named after her late father-in-law lovingly known as ‘Naara’ and ‘Aaba’ meaning father. The motto of the company is to fight a social problem that wreaks havoc across the region, namely the suicides of thousands of farmers who cannot pay back their debt due to drought, poor harvest, and sometimes exacerbated by climate. Rita started her winery facing these hurdles and a field abundant in kiwi fruits. Despite facing many challenges such as lack of efficient production infrastructure, market connectivity, and minimum support from the government machinery, she has created a niche market in the wine industry. This case aims to establish the applicability of the Blue Ocean strategy by applying the tools to create an uncontested market space for Naara-Aaba, the first organic kiwi wine from the north-eastern states of India and second in the world after New Zealand. Research question: How to apply Blue Ocean strategy for the brand Naara-Aaba so that the competition becomes irrelevant? Theory: Blue Ocean theory Type of the case: Applied problem solving Basis of the case: Phenomenon-creating uncontested space in the market Protagonist: Present Findings: The findings revealed that implementing a Blue Ocean strategy will open up new uncontested market spaces for the brand to grow profitably. This case study shows how to apply Blue Ocean strategy for a wine brand. Discussion: Blue Ocean strategy advocates that by eliminating unnecessary attributes, reducing all features that pushes up the cost, raising utility, and creating higher value, a brand can redefine its market where competition is non-existent.

Abstract:

The molecular diversity of prostate cancer (PCa) has been demonstrated by recent genome-wide studies, proposing a significant number of different molecular markers. However, only a few of them have been transferred into clinical practice so far. The present study aimed to identify and validate novel DNA methylation biomarkers for PCa diagnosis and prognosis. Microarray-based methylome data of well-characterized cancerous and noncancerous prostate tissue (NPT) pairs was used for the initial screening. Ten protein-coding genes were selected for validation in a set of 151 PCa, 51 NPT, as well as 17 benign prostatic hyperplasia samples. The Prostate Cancer Dataset (PRAD) of The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) was utilized for independent validation of our findings. Methylation frequencies of ADAMTS12, CCDC181, FILIP1L, NAALAD2, PRKCB, and ZMIZ1 were up to 91% in our study. PCa specific methylation of ADAMTS12, CCDC181, NAALAD2, and PRKCB was demonstrated by qualitative and quantitative means (all p < 0.05). In agreement with PRAD, promoter methylation of these four genes was associated with the transcript down-regulation in the Lithuanian cohort (all p < 0.05). Methylation of ADAMTS12, NAALAD2, and PRKCB was independently predictive for biochemical disease recurrence, while NAALAD2 and PRKCB increased the prognostic power of multivariate models (all p < 0.01). The present study identified methylation of ADAMTS12, NAALAD2, and PRKCB as novel diagnostic and prognostic PCa biomarkers that might guide treatment decisions in clinical practice.

Abstract:

WelFur-hankkeen tarkoituksena on kehittää arviointimenetelmä turkiseläinten hyvinvoinnin mittaamiseen tilatasolla. Tämän työn tavoitteena oli selvittää WelFur-mittaristoon kehitetyn, stereotyyppistä käyttäytymistä mittaavan mittarin käyttökelpoisuutta ja soveltuvuutta erilaisiin olosuhteisiin turkistiloilla. Lisäksi tavoitteena oli tutkia stereotyyppisen käyttäytymisen yleisyyttä eri kettulajeilla (sinikettu ja hopeakettu) ja eläintyypeillä (urokset, pennuttomat naaraat, pentuja hoitavat naaraat) lisääntymiskauden aikana.Mittaria testattiin turkistiloilla Norjassa (N=6) ja Suomessa (N=4) kesä-heinäkuussa 2011. Arvioijat tarkkailivat Norjassa yhteensä 862 kettua (5 % sinikettuja, 95 % hopeakettuja) ja Suomessa 831 kettua (77 % sinikettuja, 23 % hopeakettuja). Stereotyyppisen käyttäytymisen esiintyvyyttä mitattiin tarkkailemalla 8-12 ketun ryhmiä eri puolilla tilaa. Ennen tarkkailua kettujen annettiin tottua ihmisen läsnäoloon kolmen minuutin ajan, jonka jälkeen valittujen yksilöiden käyttäytymistä tarkkailtiin minuutin ajan. Tarkkailussa kirjattiin yksilöiden aktiivisuus (aktiivinen tai lepää) ja stereotyyppinen käyttäytyminen. Stereotyyppisen käyttäytymisen esiintyminen suhteutettiin aktiivisten yksilöiden määrään.Yhdellä tilalla Suomessa ja kahdella tilalla Norjassa ei havaittu stereotyyppistä käyttäytymistä. Kaikista hopeaketuista 73 % ja siniketuista 57 % oli aktiivisia tarkkailun aikana. Stereotyyppisesti käyttäytyvien kettujen määrä erosi tilojen välillä (1,9±1,6 % (ka±SD), 0-4,1 % (min-max); x2: p<0,05), mutta aktiivisuuteen suhteutetun stereotyyppisen käyttäytymisen määrässä ei tilojen välillä ollut eroja (2,8±2,2 %, 0-4,9 %; Kruskal-Wallis: p>0,05). Stereotyyppisesti käyttäytyvien eläinten osuus kaikista tarkkailluista eläimistä (Norja: 2,1 %, Suomi: 1,8 %) tai stereotyppisesti käyttäytyvien kettujen osuus aktiivisista ketuista (Norja: 2,9 %, Suomi: 2,9 %) ei eronnut maiden välilx(x2 ja Mann-Whitney: p>0,05). Hopeaketuilla esiintyi enemmän stereotyyppistä käyttäytymistä kuin siniketuilla (hopeakettu: 2,8 %, sinikettu: 0,7 %; x2: p<0,05), mutta aktiivisuuteen suhteutetun stereotyyppisen käyttäytymisen osuudessa lajien välillä ei ollut eroa (Sinikettu: 1,3 %, Hopeakettu: 3,8 %; KW: p>0,05). Eri eläintyyppien välillä ei ollut eroja stereotyyppisesti käyttäytyvien yksilöiden määrässä (urokset: 0 %, pennuttomat naaraat: 2,5 %, pentuja hoitavat naaraat: 1,9 %, sukupuoli epäselvä: 1,5 %; x2: p>0,05) tai aktiivisuuteen suhteutetun stereotyyppisen käyttäytymisen määrässä (urokset: 0 %, pennuttomat naaraat: 4,0 %, pentuja hoitavat naaraat: 2,7 %, sukupuoli epäselvä: 2,4 %; KW: p>0,05).Tulosten osoittavat, että stereotyyppistä käyttäytymistä esiintyy turkistiloilla vähän. WelFur mittaristoon kehitetty menetelmä on nopea ja soveltuu stereotyyppisen käyttäytymisen määrään mittaamiseen tilatasolla, ja sillä voidaan erottella tiloja stereotyyppisen käyttäytymisen määrän mukaan. Mittarin luotettavuutta on kuitenkin vielä syytä tutkia.

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam rangka untuk menenetukan Tingkat Kerusakan Jalan dengan menggunakan metode IRI (International Roughness Index) dengan menggunakan alat roughness meter NAASRA. Analisis mengunakan data Survey yang dilakukan oleh BP2JN Pemrov Sumatera Utara pada ruas jalan Medan – Tebing Tinggi Km. 75 sepanjang 5 (lima) kilometer, tepatnya di jalan setiabudi, dengan menggunakan metode NAASRA. Indikasi tingkat kerusakan jalan ditentukan melalui nilai IRI. Perolehan nilai IRI (International Roughness Index) dilakukan melalui hasil kalibrasi alat NAASRA selanjutnya dihitung dengan persamaan korelasi R2, melalui persamaan IRI y=a1x+a2. Dari hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa ruas Jalan Setiabudi mengalami kerusakan sepanjang 4.000 meter (80%) dengan rata-rata nilai IRI = 11-13. Sedangkan sisanya sepanjang 1.000 meter berada dalam kondisi sedang, dengan nilai IRI=8. Dari jalan yang rusak tersebut diketahui bahwa ada 1.000 meter, berada dalam kondisi rusak berat dan harus segera mendapat penanganan berupa rekonstruksi.

Abstract:

Turkistuotannossa jalostuksen tavoitteena on kasvattaa nahan kokoa ja pentuekokoa sekä parantaanahan laatua ja värin puhtautta. Minkeillä jalostus perustuu pääsääntöisesti pentuekokoon sekä elävistäeläimistä arvioitaviin gradeerausominaisuuksiin, joita ovat eläimen koko, värin puhtaus, värintummuus, karvan massakkuus, peittävyys ja laatu.Minkkien jalostusarvostelussa käytettävät tilastolliset mallit muutettiin alkuvuonna 2007.Vanhassa arvostelussa kaikille ominaisuuksille käytettiin samaa mallia. Mallissa kiinteänä tekijänä olitila-vuosi ja satunnaistekijöinä perinnöllinen eläintekijä sekä jäännöstekijä. Pentuekoossa havaintonakäytettiin naaraan kaikkien pentuehavaintojen keskiarvoa. Kaikkilla ominaisuuksillaperiytymisasteena oli 0,20.Uudessa arvostelussa gradeerausominaisuuksien malliin otettiin mukaan kiinteiksi tekijöiksieläimen sukupuoli, syntymäajankohta ja emän ikä. Lisäksi pentue lisättiin satunnaistekijäksi.Pentuekoon malliin lisättiin uusiksi kiinteiksi tekijöiksi naaraan ikä ja paritusten lukumäärä.Satunnaistekijäksi lisättiin naaraan pysyvät ympäristövaikutukset. Uudessa arvostelussa pentuekoonjalostusarvot lasketaan siis toistuvuuseläinmallilla. Periytymisasteet muuttuivat melko vähän paitsipentuekoolla ja värin puhtaudella. Vaikka uusien mallien myötä eläinten jalostusarvot muuttuvat,käytännössä uudet minkkimallit vaikuttavat eläinten valintaan melko vähän. Muutosten suuruusvaihtelee tietenkin tiloittain, mutta keskimäärin muutokset ovat melko hillittyjä.

Abstract:

The use of surfactants is extremely widespread for human life. The development of the use of surfactants has not reached detergents anymore, but for drug delivery, biolubricant, emulsifier, cosmetics, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), dispersants and even virus vectors. Unfortunately, the past history of surfactants had given a bad impression since many surfactants are difficult to decompose in nature, are toxic and are not suitable as biological materials. This article will examine the research development and production, synthesis pathway, classification, behaviour and application of N-Acyl amino acid (NAAAc) surfactants. Amino acid-based N-Acylamides (AAc) or NAAAc surfactants are next-generation biological surfactants. NAAAc can be synthesized by chemical and enzymatic pathway. NAAAc can also be combined with ionic liquids (ILs) to become green surfactants NAAAc ILs which is low in toxicity unlike conventional ILs. The conclusion of this article studied was NAAc production process that had the highest efficiency so far was the production through a catalytic chemical reaction, namely the fatty acid amidation or amino acid acylation process. The application of AAc-based N-Acylamides is so promising that it can be considered for scale-up processes in the future.

Dari hasil pengukuran nilai IRI pada ruas jalan Bulu – Batas Kota Tuban, Kabupaten Tuban diperoleh 46,73% jalan dalam kondisi baik, 52,12% jalan dalam kondisi sedang dan 1,15% jalan dalam kondisi rusak ringan. Sehingga jenis penangan yang dilakukan pada ruas jalan tersebut adalah pemeliharaan rutin untuk kondisi jalan baik dan sedang sepanjang 42,943 km dan rehabilitasi mayor dan minir sepanjang 0,500 km.AbstractThe initial parameter commonly used to measure road conditions is the level of road unevenness. The tools and methods that used are NAASRA tools or commonly referred to as NAASRA Roughometers. The use of this method and tool was based on SNI 03-3426-1994 to acquire uniformity in obtaining the value of the surface flatness of the road pavement that used as one of the inputs in the preparation of plans and road network development programs. From the results of the measurement of the IRI value on the Bulu - Tuban City boundary road, Tuban Regency, it was found that 46.73% of the road was in good condition, 52.12% of the road was in moderate condition and 1.15% of the road was in a lightly damaged condition. So that the types of handling carried out on these roads were routine maintenance for good and moderate road conditions along 42,943 km and major and minor rehabilitation along 0.500 km

Turkisjalostuksen tavoitteena on kasvattaa nahan kokoa ja pentuekokoa sekä parantaa nahan laatua ja värin puhtautta. Jalostettavista ominaisuuksista 6 (gradeerausominaisuudet: eläimen koko, värin puhtaus, värin tummuus, massakkuus, peittävyys ja laatu) mitataan eläviltä eläimiltä ja 4 (nahkalajitteluominaisuudet: nahan koko, värin tummuus, värin puhtaus ja laatu) kuivatuista nahoista. Koon ja laatuominaisuuksien lisäksi jalostetaan pentuekokoa ja luonnetta. MTT:llä alkoi vuonna 2002 projekti, jonka lopputuloksena uudistettiin SAMPO:ssa käytettävät jalostusarvostelumallit. Vanhassa arvostelussa kaikille ominaisuuksille käytettiin samaa mallia, jossa ainoa kiinteä tekijä oli tila-vuosi ja ainoat satunnaistekijät jalostusarvo ja jäännöstekijä. Pentuekoossa havaintona käytettiin naaraan kaikkien pentuehavaintojen keskiarvoa, kuitenkin niin, että ensimmäistä pentuekokoa kasvatettiin 20 %. Kaikkien ominaisuuksien periytymisasteeksi oletettiin 0.20. Uudessa arvostelussa gradeerausominaisuuksien malliin lisättiin kiinteiksi tekijöiksi sukupuoli, syntymäajankohta ja emän ikä. Lisäksi pentue lisättiin uudeksi satunnaistekijäksi. Nahkalajitteluominaisuuksien malliin tehdyt muutokset vastasivat gradeerausominaisuuksilla tehtyjä muutoksia, lukuun ottamatta sukupuolta. Kaikkien laatu- ja koko-ominaisuuksien jalostusarvot lasketaan eläinmallilla. Pentuekoon malliin lisättiin uusiksi kiinteiksi tekijöiksi naaraan ikä, paritustapa ja paritusten lukumäärä. Uusiksi satunnaistekijöiksi lisättiin pentue ja naaraan pysyvät ympäristövaikutukset joten uudessa arvostelussa pentuekoon jalostusarvot lasketaan toistuvuuseläinmallilla. Luonteen malli jätettiin vähäisen aineiston vuoksi toistaiseksi ennalleen. Periytymisasteissa tapahtuneet muutokset olivat nahan kokoa, pentuekokoa sekä värin tummuutta lukuun ottamatta maltillisia. Eläinten keskinäisessä paremmuusjärjestyksessä tapahtuneet muutokset olivat suurimmat pentuekoossa.

Purpose: T he present paper aims at providing a detailed description of values and uses offered by the NAATA form - an analytic Mandinka construction formed by means of the auxiliary naa ‘come’, employed itself in the so-called ‘TA tense’, and the infinitive of the main “meaning” verb. In that manner, we intend to rectify an important lacuna in grammatical studies of the Mandinka language which have almost entirely ignored the issue of the NAATA locution. Method: A detailed map of the semantic content of the NAATA form will be designed, specifying its temporal, taxis, aspectual and modal implications, as well as certain textual properties. A ll the values will be illustrated by instructive examples provided by ten native Mandinka speakers (i.e. residents of Basse and neighboring villages: Manne K unda, Bassending, Mansajang and K aba K ama) and collected by the author in 2010 and 2011. Results: T he evidence shows that the meaning of the NAATA construction corresponds to a present perfect (resultative, iterative, inclusive, experiential and indefinite), to a past tense (immediate, recent, general and remote) and to a perfective aspect (punctual, terminative and ingressive; less commonly the locution approximates a simple past). A dditionally, the formation expresses certain modal concepts, such as non-intentionality, accidentality or spontaneity of a corresponding perfect or past event. A s far as textual properties are concerned, the NAATA form is found both in discourse and narration, being able in the latter case to introduce events of the narrative foreground. Conclusion: T he author demonstrates that the values displayed by the construction (with an exception of the modal senses) can be connected and a definition, which exceeds a simple inventory of uses, may be provided if one views the locution from a dynamic evolutionary perspective, i.e. as a manifestation of one of the developmental scenarios governing the grammatical evolution of original resultative constructions, namely as a realization of the anterior path. Furthermore, the modal senses of the NAATA form may be related to the anterior trajectory (and to its meanings-stages) if we make use of the evidential path, an evolutionary possibility which links the grammatical life of resultatives with determined modal domains. T his latter proposition, however, needs a more profound analysis and will constitute one of the research activities, conducted by the author in the future.

Background: This study aims to provide data on the care of pregnant women with epilepsy (pWWE) that is directly applicable to the Canadian context. Methods: Between 1997 and 2019, pWWE from Canada and the USA who enrolled into the North American AED Pregnancy Registry (NAARP) completed a questionnaire on their AED (anti-epileptic drug) usage. Enrollment rates to NAARP were compared between the two countries, and between the different Canadian provinces using population-based enrollment rate ratios (PERR). The AED prescription pattern among Canadian pWWE was analysed and compared with the USA. Results: During the study period, 10,215 women enrolled into NAARP : 4.1% (n=419) were Canadian, below the expected population-based contribution (PERR=0.42; p<0.01). Within Canada, the three northern territories (PERR=0; p<0.01), Prince-Edward Island (PERR=0; p<0.01), and Quebec (PERR=0.41; p<0.01) had the lowest enrollment rate ratios. Lamotrigine was the most commonly prescribed AED among canadian pWWE; they were, however, more likely to be on polytherapy (25%; p=0.13), on Carbamazepine (24%; p<0.01) or valproic acid (21%; p<0.01) than their American counterparts. Conclusions: Greater enrollment of Canadian women to NAARP, through enhanced clinician referrals, in particular from underrepresented provinces/territories, could lead to more accurate population-specific data and help identify gaps in the care of this vulnerable patient population.

This paper addresses the syntax, semantics, and history of the modal deontic predictors naada and tustaax in Sakha and contrasts their use with Sakha's closest linguistic relative Taimyr Dolgan. In this respect, this study is a continuation of Siegl (2019), which, in passing, already reported similarities and dissimilarities in these two closely related Turkic languages of Northern and Northeastern Siberia. A contrastive analysis based on recent translations of the Gospel of Luke (which for the time being is the only longer text available in both languages) confirms that the genealogical proximity of Sakha and Taimyr Dolgan is not reflected in the use of naada and tustaax. The study concludes with a superficial look at the fate of Russian nado in Kolyma and Tundra Yukaghir. Even though the lexeme is obviously of Russian origin, Kolyma Yukaghir but especially Tundra Yukaghir data shows several similarities with Sakha naada, which are absent from Russian and therefore imply Sakha influence.

To achieve its renewable energy targets, Algeria has launched several projects, such as the Hassi Rmel solar thermal-gas hybrid power plant, the Taberkine wind farm in Adrar, and several small photovoltaic power plants. Besides, others planned including, the Naama PV plant. In this study, the impact of the expected photovoltaic power plant at the province of Naama on the southwestern network of Algeria. The obtained results indicate that the installation of this plant would have a positive impact on the system by reducing the losses active and improving the voltage profile.

ABSTRACTThe Swedish dialectal words nårot ‘worn-out’ and narg ‘a piece of wornout cloth’ have not been etymologically treated so far. I here connect them with a family of Balto-Finnic words, likewise still lacking an etymology: Finn. naarmu ˜ narvas (<*narwa−), Est. näru (<*narwo-) and narvas ˜ narmas, etc. In these Balto-Finnic words, the -v- has in most attested forms undergone a sound substitution to -m-, known to have taken place in some Germanic loan words in Balto-Finnic. I propose that the above dialectal Swedish words can be explained as old wō/wa–stems, related to West Germanic words like Ger. Narbe, OE nearwian ‘to constrain’, etc. Thus, it appears that Finn, narvas-, naarmu, Est. näru, etc. are Proto-Germanic loan words in Balto-Finnic, and that the words later died out in the Germanic languages, only to be retrievable through dialectal Norwegian and North Swedish data and reconstructable through comparison with the Balto-Finnic loan words.

Abstract:

The level of unevenness of the road is a parameter that is often used to measure the roughness of a road segment. The tools and methods used are named NAASRA. The NAASRA tool produces IRI values which then used to classifiedwith road condition according to Binamarga 2005. The purpose of this research is to test the value of road unevenness (IRI), to test the level of road stability, and to arrange the handling needs on Betungan-Padang Serai road. The results show that the Betungan-Padang Serai roads have good roads along 4150 m (75%), medium conditions along 400m (7%), minor damage conditions along 500m (9%), and severe damage conditions of 500 m (9%). The result of road stability test shows that steady road condition is 4550 m (82%) and unsteady road is 1000 m (18%). Routine maintenance is required for 4150 m (75%), major and minor rehabilitation of 400 m (7%), and 1000 m (18%) reconstruction.

Perkerasan jalan adalah unsur konstruksi jalan raya yang sangat penting dalam rangka kelancaran transportasi darat sehingga memberikan kenyamanan dan keamanan bagi penggunanya, sehingga perlu direncanakan dengan baik berdasarkan standar dan kriteria perencanaan yang berlaku di Indonesia. Kurangnya tingkat pelayanan jalan mendesak segera dilakukan tahapan perencanaan pada setiap desain pembuatan jalan, karena tahapan tersebut sangat peranan penting dalam merencanakan tebal perkerasan yang baik khususnya pada perkerasan kaku, serta menurut data survey di ruas jalan tersebut. Penentuan nilai rancang tebal perkerasan kaku (Rigid Pavement) dapat dihitung dengan banyak metode, dalam perencanaan tebal perkerasan kaku ruas Jalan Ringroad Utara Kota Surakarta pada digunakan metode SNI Pd T-14-2003 dan methode NAASRA (National Association of Australian State Road Authorities). Dalam metode SNI Pd T-14-2003 didapatkan JSKN sebanyak 9 x 107 dan CBR tahan dasar 4.30 %, diperoleh ketebalan pelat setebal 180 mm. Sedangkan perencanaan metode NAASRA, didapat JSKN (Jumlah Sumbu Kendaraan Niaga) sebesar 2.07 x 108, nilai CBR tanah dasar 4,30% dan nilai K = 35kPa/mm, Tebal perkerasan setebal 210 mm. Perencanaan penulangan dengan metode SNI Pd T-14-2003 adalah diameter 10 mm dengan jarak 250 mm. Untuk metode NAASRAdiperoleh tulangan dengan diameter 12 mm jarak 250 mm. Untuk dimensi drainase pada lokasi penampang 1 adalah dengan lebar x tinggi (0.30 m x 0.30 m) dan untuk tinggi jagaan sebesar 0.1 m. Dan dimensi drainase pada lokasi penampang 2 adalah dengan lebar x tinggi (0.35 m x 0.35 m) dan untuk tinggi jagaan sebesar 0.1 m. Abstract:

Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) and Mean Absolute Error (MAE) are widely used measures for evaluating the forecasting performance of time series models. Although these absolute measures can be used to compare the performance of competing models, one needs a reference to judge the goodness of the forecasts. In this paper, two relative measures, coefficient of efficiency (E) and index of agreement (d), and their modified versions (EM, EMP, dM and dMP) with desired values of closer to one are presented. These measures are illustrated by comparing the modeling ability and validation forecasting performance of a Nonlinear Additive Autoregressive with Exogenous variables (NAARX), Nested Threshold Autoregressive (NeTAR), and Multiple Nonlinear Inputs Transfer Function (MNITF) models developed for the Jökulsá eystri daily streamflow data. The results suggest that NeTAR describes the system best, and gives better 1- and 2-day ahead validation forecasts. MNITF gives better forecasts for 3-day ahead, and NeTAR and NAARX give comparable performance for 4- and 5-day ahead forecasting. The values of E and d were larger than those of the modified versions, giving a false sense of model performance, and unlike the modified versions, they decreased as forecast lead times increased. Differences among the values of these six relative measures can reveal the sensitiveness of competing models to outliers, and their potential for long-term forecasting. Accordingly, NeTAR was the least sensitive to outliers and NAARX was the most sensitive, with MNITF in between; and NAARX showed the most potential for long-term streamflow forecasting.
