Abstract:
El camu camu (Myrciaria dubia HBK Mc Vaugh - Myrtaceae), es un frutal nativo de origen amazónico, su importancia radica en su alto contenido de ácido ascórbico natural que oscila entre 800 a 6100 mg/100g de pulpa (Yuyama, 2011). Frutal que viene tomando importancia en la Región Ucayali, en la medida en que el fruto va adquiriendo relevancia en los mercados nacionales e internacionales. El Perú cuenta con aproximadamente 4069 hectáreas de superficie cosechada, por lo que se ha convertido en el primer centro productor de camu camu con una producción de 14043,38 toneladas métricas (TM) de fruto/año (MINAGRI, 2020). En Ucayali, se encuentran plantadas 2313,30 hectáreas de camu camu entre los distritos de Manantay, Callería, Masisea y Yarinacocha. De estas, 1068 hectáreas son de superficie cosechada, con una producción de 1923 toneladas métricas (TM) de fruto/año, rendimiento promedio de 1,8 tn/ha y precio en chacra de S/. 2.27/kg (MINAGRI, 2020).
