Abstract:
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease whose prevalence continues to increase. Diabetes mellitus sufferers are advised to do lifestyle interventions in the form of physical activity. Physical activity provides benefits for diabetics, through the autocrine response of muscles to release IL-6 for muscle repair. The purpose of this study was to determine the appropriate intensity of physical activity against muscle IL-6 in diabetic mice. The subjects in this study were male mice (balb / c) weighing 20-30 grams. This study was divided into 4 groups. The treatment in the form of treadmill activity is carried out once with heating for 5 minutes and core for 30 minutes. This study used a True Experimental research design using a Random Control Group Posttest-Only Design research design. The variable measured in this study was muscle IL-6, namely the calf muscle (gastrocnemious and soleus muscles) of the left and right legs of each subject 24 hours after acute physical activity. Acute physical activity causes the release of interleukin-6 by myofibers. Based on the analysis results showed that there was a significant effect of low, medium, and high intensity acute physical activity on muscle IL-6 levels (p = 0.05). In addition, it also showed that the highest average muscle IL-6 level was the high intensity treatment group with a value of 325.17267 mg / dL. These results prove that high-intensity acute physical activity improves IL-6 levels in the muscle muscle model of diabetes mellitus mice.

Abstract:
THE BENEFITS OF REST FOLLOWING INJURED DUE TO SPORTS Abstract In modern era, sports will engange with science and technology then improving human performance to get achievement, health and recreation through sports. Science and technology used in various sports, on the other hand it causes injured then impact on daily activities. Injury characteristics experienced by athletes such as minor, moderate and severe injuries. Injured can be classified as first-degree injuries, second-degree injuries and third-degree injuries. Second-degree injuries and third-degree injuries are generally treated by doctors because its usually torn or broken muscle tissue, etc. Types of injuries that occur in the body such as: bones, muscles, ligaments and joints of the limbs, both body contact or non-body contact sports. Sometimes athletes deny that suffers injury and still go the the field for training, compete or do exercise. When the feeling of injury arise, athletes tend to deny the tears and continue their training. Impact of deny to take a rest program will cause inflammation process reappears, weakness in the muscles gets higher, creatine kinase increases, causing muscle atrophy, and overpast injuries reappear so that the pain continues to be felt any time. Creatine kinase decrease in muscle sarcoplasm causing downward muscle ability, while creatine kinase increases, it will generate muscle atrophy. Recovery program is important for athletes who suffering injured so that he/she should come back to the field to get achievement, health, fitness and passion in sports.

The study deals with the investigation of functional condition of seniors’ muscular system at the age of 60 and more. The research was performed with an intentionally selected file of seniors in which a physical activity was regularly stimulated. The functional condition of muscular apparatus was investigated according to Janda test (2004) and the following motoric changes were evaluated with the help of Friedman test and objective relevance. On the basis of the recorded data in accordance to previous proved findings we can state that an adequate physical intervention has a high importance for adjustment of tested motoric stereotypes, restoring physiological length of tested muscles and muscles with a tendency to shortening, and restoring strength of tested muscles and muscles with tendency to weakening. These findings might support the idea of including physical activity to seniors’ everyday life.

Abstract:
Abstract Background Women often suffer from urinary incontinence after childbirth. Pelvic floor muscle training is an evidenced-based intervention to prevent urinary incontinence and improve its symptoms Aim The primary purpose of this study was to determine if there is a change in the activation of the pelvic floor muscles with different extrinsic parameters (barefoot versus unstable shoe). Second, we wanted to define variables that can be measured reliably and correlated with pelvic floor activity. Methods Data of 15 women who were 8 weeks to 6 months postpartum were analyzed. Two conditions (“barefoot” and “kyBoot”) were tested, with each participant performing three different tasks: walking, standing with an active pelvic floor, and standing with a passive pelvic floor. Three-dimensional kinematics of the body were recorded. Activity of the abdominal, back, and gluteal muscles was measured using surface electromyography (EMG). The activity of the pelvic floor was recorded using a vaginal electrode. Maximum pelvic floor activity was compared for each condition, and correlations among pelvic floor activity, kinematic variables, and skeletal muscle activity were determined. Results The maximum activity of the pelvic floor while walking was significantly higher when participants were barefoot than when they were wearing kyBoot shoes. For the standing trials, no significant differences between the conditions were detected. No surrogate marker was found to measure the pelvic floor activity. Conclusion With regard to the pelvic floor musculature, no recommendation is possible in favor of or against wearing unstable shoes. Technical developments are necessary to provide solutions to reliably measure the pelvic floor activity.

Abstract:
Pengukuran kekuatan otot tungkai menggunakan back and leg dynamometer sedangkan pengukuran ROM sendi menggunakan alat goniometer.

This theses explores muscle activity during bow draw. The goal of his study is to evaluate whether muscle activity corresponds with increase in mechanical robusticity of the left humerus found in mezolithic osteological material. Muscle activity is measured by the means of surface electromyography. We measure activity of arm and back muscles. Activity was measured on m. deltoideus, m. infraspinatus, m. biceps brachii, m. triceps brachii and m. latissimus dorsi. Muscle activity was measured on 20 male archers, during bow draw of three wooden long-bows. Results of this study support the idea that change in robusticity of the left humerus could be caused by frequent bow use in post-glacial Europe.

1 Abstract The purpose of this study was to describe the degree of bilateral asymmetry of lower limbs' muscle activity in the dance movement Cha-cha-cha and to determine the cause of bilateral asymmetries of lower limbs' muscle activity. Differences in muscle activity of contralateral lower limbs might be caused by the factor of bilaterally asymmetrical movement patterns, the factor of neural pathways or the factor of training. We hypotetize that comparing the direction of bilateral asymmetry in muscle activity between asymmetrical dance movement and its mirror alternative can determine the cause of bilateral asymmetry in muscle activity of lower limbs within the movement. We studied 14 volunteers (7 men, 7 women), all were actively dancing at competitive level. We tested the muscle activity of musculus vastus lateralis (VL), musculus biceps femoris (BF), musculus tibialis anterior (TA) a musculus gastrocnemius lateralis (GL) using surface electromyography. The dance movement Cha-cha-cha was bilaterally asymmetrical in the muscle activity of VL, TA and GL. Direction of lower limbs' muscle activity indicates, that TA, being a muscle responsible for foot movement, might be affected by the factor of neural pathways and brain laterality, while VL and GL might be more affected by the factor of training. Abstract:
----- Portable, inexpensive, and easy-to-use electroencephalography (EEG) devices allow the examination of cognitive processes without a dramatic interference with normal ongoing behaviors. The scalp EEG signal amplitude is in the microvolts range and it is easily contaminated with different artifacts, such as ocular or muscle activities. Artifact removal has not been resolved satisfactory, therefore the use of EEG devices is limited to activities requiring minimal muscle activity. Despite this limitation several areas of pedagogy have already benefited from EEG measurements. Brain activities during different tasks provided information about engagement, mental workload, and cognitive strategies. Training in neurofeedback helped children with Special Educational Needs to maintain self-regulation and controll skills. Brain-to-brain synchrony measurements predicted the efficiency of information transfer, and showed social connectedness. These applications use the spectral analysis of the EEG signal. Fourier analysis decomposes the EEG into different sine waves and estimates the spectral power (which is proportional to the number of active neurons) at each frequency. From the human scalp α wave can be recorded the most reliably. Although this activity is mainly associated with iddleness, it is also important to maintain focus by blocking unwanted sensory processes. In our experiments α power showed characteristic differences among tasks. It was the highest occipitally during relaxation and it decreased especially frontally with cognitive engagement. Tasks requiring similar mental activity showed similar α power distribution. Individuals might showed EEG activity with distinct characteristics, forexample some participants did not have increased α power during relaxation. Therefore the reliable interpretation of EEG requires the consideration of individual differences as well. In conclusion, application of EEG in pedagogy is promising, and it is worth considering its incorporation into educational research programs.
