Abstract:
Multiple sources abound in language, at all levels of linguistic analysis (phonology, syntax, semantics, etc.), and in a range of historical pursuits, including etymology and variationist investigations. From a methodological standpoint, moreover, recognizing multiple sources is often good historical linguistic practice (contrary to inclinations towards neat and elegant solutions that satisfy Occam’s Razor). That is, if we can identify multiple pressures on some part of a language system, it cannot always readily be excluded that some or even all might have played a role in shaping a particular development; if all of the factors represent reasonable pressures that speakers could have been aware of and influenced by, excluding any could simply be arbitrary. In this paper, accordingly, I survey the breadth of multiple sources in a variety of areas of language change, and advance one particular consequence that multiple sources can lead to, namely the hypothesis that recognizing multiple sources can be a basis for positing proto-language variation that is realized in variation within single languages and across related languages.

Abstract:
The incidence of non-secretory multiple myeloma ranged between 1−5% cases of plasma cell dyscrasia (PCD). In the developedcountries like in Europe, cases of MM ranged from 4.5 up to 6.0/100.000 population/year with a median age at diagnosis between63 and 70 years. A very rare disease with difficulties in diagnosis in the clinical practice is the main reason for reporting this case.A nonsecretory MM (MMNS) case was reported in a 36–year-old male with multiple osteolytic lesions and bone pain; whereas renalinsufficiency as well as anemia was not found. The protein electrophoresis result showed a presence of hypoglobulinemia. On bone marrowaspiration (BMA) there was an infiltration of about 40% of plasma cells. Nonsecretory was due to a disruption of immunoglobulinsecretion, so M protein was not found in immuno-fixation electrophoresis. Epidemiological data showed that the incidence of MM inyoung age is very low. The diagnosis of MMNS is established when a plasmocyte neoplasm is not accompanied by renal insufficiency, hypercalcemia and decreased levels of normal immunoglobulin.

Abstract:
Although the epidemiological similarity between the two diseases is true, this thesis was not discussed extensively, perhaps because it implied that some children might have been victims of abuse, which sounds false and potentially unfair. We believe that transverse myelitis and MS are the result of an infectious disease, eventually sexually transmitted by chlamydia/gonococcus, which is caused by a subclinical bacterial urethritis/inflamatory pelvic disease (IPD) among adults. In children it is the same disease but caused by common uropathogens/enterobacteria. Both UTI and MS are much more common in girls than in boys [2, 3]. These UTIs would favor herpetic proliferation via toll-like receptors (TLRs), since the virus is endemic and always present, and it is not possible to eradicate it completely. Herpes viral load is counteracted by interferon alpha 1 (IFN alpha-1), present in different cell types, from macrophages to lymphocytes passing through endothelia and fibroblasts. Interferon alpha 1, when interacting with its specific receptors, produces in the intracellular the action of antiviral RNAse and the inhibition of viral protein synthesis

Abstract:
Arthrogryposis multiplex congenita (AMC) is a syndrome characterized by nonprogressive multiple congenital joint contractures. The etiology of disease is multifactorial; it is most commonly suspected from absent fetal movements and genetic defects. AMC affects mainly limbs; also it might present with other organs involvement. It is crucial that the diagnosis of AMC should be kept in mind by musculoskeletal physicians in newborns with multiple joint contractures and patients must begin rehabilitation in early stage after accurate diagnosis in terms of functional independence. We present the diagnosis, types, clinical features, and treatment approaches of this disease in our case with literature reviews.

Abstract:
Steroid bio synthesis occurs in adrenal, gonadal, brain, liver, and placental tissues. Depending on the location of their activity, steroids can be divided into two groups – intracellular and extracellular. Intracellular ones act as transcription factors, suppressing or activating gene expression – they have a so-called genomic effect and therefore their onset of action is slow. Steroids acting extracellularly (non-genome effect) bind to neurotransmitter receptors located on the cytoplasmic cell membrane and thus affect the permeability of the ion channels, the effect of which is much faster, and we refer to them as neuroactive steroids or neurosteroids. While neuroactive steroids can be produced in different tissues of the body, or can be administered externally, neurosteroids are synthetized in cells of the nervous system. Some neuroactive steroids whose levels are extremely elevated in pregnancy (progesterone and its metabolites) are crucial in stabilizing pregnancy and changes in their concentration may influence the onset of parturition. Steroidogenic disorders may be involved in a number of pregnancy pathologies such as premature birth, pre-eclampsia, intrahepatic cholestasis in pregnancy, etc. Our research in collaboration with the Department of Steroids and Proteofactors of the Institute of Endocrinology in Prague also focuses on the investigation of multiple pregnancies in terms of bio synthesis, transport, and the effects of steroids. Studies available in the literature so far have not provided a comprehensive analysis of the steroidome in children and mothers in multiple pregnancies. The aim of our research is therefore to clarify the relationships between fetuses and mothers and between fetuses from the point of view of steroid synthesis and transport as well as the physiology and pathophysiology of human pregnancy and childbirth. Key words: fetomaternal steroidome – neuroactive steroids – pregnancy complication – multiple pregnancy

Abstract:
The OFDM scheme has the problems of out-of-band (OOB) leakage and low transmission efficiency in the time domain. This is because the scheme is a single frequency single carrier one in which one carrier is generated by one frequency. To overcome the problems we propose multiple frequencies multiple carriers (MFMC) scheme in which one carrier is generated using many frequencies. We establish a practical model which not only eliminates these disadvantages but also improves the transmission efficiency and peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) performance. In the proposed MFMC scheme, the filter matrix is used in order to confine the OOB leakage of the spectrums of transmit signal, which is generated through processes such as jump-removing, filtering, and orthogonalizing from an initial matrix. MFMS is evaluated compared with OFDM in view of transmission efficiency, OOB leakage, and bit error rate performance.

Abstract:
This paper explores the concept of instrumental/vocal learning when studying the same instrument or voice with more than one concurrent teacher. In this context, teachers may be working as a team, or one or both teachers may not know of the other's contribution to a student's learning. Qualitative data from music students and teachers at the University of York sheds some light on this often hidden learning context. This paper examines students’ reasons for studying with more than one teacher; their views on negotiating teacher demands; teacher–student–teacher dynamics; and assessment of the success of this context for learning. Teachers’ views are considered through discussion of their attitudes to this context, and their evaluation of its effect on their teaching. Findings suggest that although there may be problems for students regarding issues of teacher loyalty and dealing with conflicting advice, there are also many benefits including exposure to a greater range of musical and technical ideas and added pedagogical insight. There are also potential benefits for teachers if they are working as a team.

Abstract:
