Full textThis research aims to discuss and reflect the reintroduction of a course of training in Heritage Education for teachers of the Municipal Network for Education in the municipality of Goiania. In 2004, was the first initiative, where 49 teachers participated in a course of Education Sheets, but this project, which had a larger (than the course itself), not developed. This work arose from a course of Education Asset held in a municipal school. This course formou 11 educators who have become multipliers in a class of elementary school selected. The viability of this project is based on two benchmarks: a work of Heritage Education held in a municipal school of Goiania, which served as reference for structuring this project, a qualitative analysis conducted with teachers who attended the first course of Education Sheet ( 2004), about the exploitation of that event and its extension to his academic activities.

The preservation and management of cultural heritage have attracted significant attention from the general public and further produced increasing demand for tourism. In light of that, the economic evaluation of both cultural goods and services has been seriously taken by all circles in consideration of a variety of circumstances including human resources, time, and capital. Both cultural goods and services present the characteristic of public goods and benefit public welfare, hence cultural heritage organizations and sites often receive financial subsidies or tax reduction from public sectors for their development. Due to the frequent need of public participation in management-related matters, such as research, preservation, restoration, exhibition, public access, etc., as far as cultural heritage is concerned, this study adopts the method of Choice Modeling to conduct case evaluation upon “Fort San Domingo and Surrounding Historical Buildings, Danshuei” and “Beinan Site and Mt. Dulan” to further examine the public’s preferred scenarios as well as economic interest in terms of cultural heritage. The findings of this study are stated below: 1.The model fitness of both cultural heritage sites is satisfactory, and able to explain the relevance between variables. 2.The major factors affecting the utilization of “Fort San Domingo and Surrounding Historical Buildings, Danshuei” are tour-guide facilities, explaining systems, number of tourists, degree of public access, and the remodeling project of Chung-Cheng Market. The major factors affecting the utilization of “Beinan Site and Mt. Dulan” are excavation and research, preservation of original sites, plans for exhibition, and number of tourists. 3.The Willingness-to-Pay (WTP) attributes of “Fort San Domingo and Surrounding Historical Buildings, Danshuei” in descending order are: introducing PDA or cell-phone audio-visual tour-guide services, increasing the sites with public access to 27, increasing the sites with public access to 20, implementing the remodeling project of Chung-Cheng Market, and boosting the number of tourists. The WTP attributes of “Beinan Site and Mt. Dulan”, also in descending order, are: continuing the site excavation and research, implementing the site-preserving and displaying projects, and boosting the number of tourists. The primary contribution of this study is the clarification upon the significance of the multi-attribute evaluation model. The results of this study will help related organizations and/or sectors with the establishment of strategies for preservation, maintenance, operation, and management.

The concept of multiple intelligences received a lot of positive attention after it was introduced by Howard Gardner in 1983. Its main premise is that only continual practice can lead to a student’s mastery of the learning materials, and the more diverse approaches used by learners, the higher the probability they will achieve their goals. There are many Chinese heritage children attending mandarin camps held in Taiwan and mainland China every summer vacation. To some degree, Chinese heritage learners’ language ability is different from other foreign language learners. Therefore, combining appropriate yet fun teaching for this specific group, based on multiple intelligences, is the focus of this research. This study adopted the Development Analysis Research model to construct the instructional design. The combination of a literature review and a needs assessment using surveys and interviews determined the needs of teachers, learners and parents. Finally, appropriate teaching principles for camp activities were deduced by analyzing teaching materials and surveys. The result of this study shows that language activities based on multiple intelligences not only improves a learner’s attitude, but also promotes effective learning for children. Hands-on activities based on multiple intelligences bridges the learners’ cognition, memory, experiences and affection to fulfill their needs.

Founded on the contexts of the postmodern experience economy, leisure market and experiential cultural tourism, this research firstly probes into the essence of experiences shaped in different types of museums and their competitiveness as a leisure option, thereby holistically clarifying the organic connections between them and contemporary issues in the fields of culture, society and tourism. It targets at the post-industrial city Liverpool in light of its unique urban evolution and rapid tourism growth, picking out three critical cases—the Merseyside Maritime Museum, the Museum of Liverpool and the Beatles Story which all center on urban heritage, yet offer distinct experiences in close proximity, hence allowing an empirical insight into the research questions below: What kinds of museum experiences are shaped, and how are they perceived as a leisure option? How does the concept of “edutainment” manifest in such experiences? How do such experiences affect cultural identity and destination image? The findings suggest that a museum experience hinges on the essence of both an experience delivery and its receipt, and museums are still not perceived as top leisure priorities. Museum visitors implicitly hold an expectation of “educative leisure”, and their perceived cost and benefits affect the decision and satisfaction of a museum visit. Moreover, three types of museum experience supply and demand are recognized in the case study: Traditional, Sensational and Humanist Supply as well as Emotional, In-between and Recreational Demand. The Humanist Supply appears to best satisfy various demands and create the optimal cultural, social and tourism impacts.

In recent decades, the problems of cultural tourism and the raise of experience economy making the ideas of creativity, such as creative industries and creative city, become popular strategies to many cities and cultural attractions in the world. Therefore, this paper aims at discussing how to combine the creative turn: creative spaces, creative spectacles and creative tourism introduced by Greg Richards with the adaptive-reuse of industrial heritages, to assist the post-industrial sites in shaping uniqueness and maintaining competitive advantages in the global market. Taking Ironbridge Gorge from the UK and the Zeche Zollverein from Germany as two cases, the research is based on the evidences related to experience economy, to discuss how to organize the unused spaces, cultural resources and local community of the post-industrial cities in different social and politics contexts. After the cross-case study, the author will build up a creative framework of industrial heritage to reexamine the important role of industrial heritages to the post-industrial cities and to conclude the crucial points to the sustainable development of industrial heritage.
