Abstract:
The aim of the research work is development of a model for optimizing the interface of a multimedia publication. In this research, five levels of interaction are identified for the interface of a multimedia publication – flat surfaces, layouts, structures, feature sets, strategies. The relationship between the levels of user interaction and interface properties of a multimedia publication is analyzed. It is proposed to select interface components based on the properties of the multimedia editions they provide. In order to construct models of optimization of elements of the interface of a multimedia publication, estimates of the interconnection of elements of the interface with functional capabilities by the total matrix are used. To combine the standard models into a single interface optimization model, an analysis of the relationship between the elements of the interface of the multimedia publication and the characteristics of the multimedia publication has been conducted. According to the results of the analysis, an economical tree is constructed, which allows to build a hierarchy of the stages of optimization of the interface of the multimedia publication and to determine the input data for the implementation of the task. The definition of the input data allows to show the principle of the interface optimization model in the form of a "black" box. An algorithm for optimizing the interface element of a multimedia publication is proposed. As a result of the practical implementation of the optimization model for the multimedia edition interface, a software product, created on the basis of HTML markup using cascading CSS style stylesheets and JavaScript language, was obtained. Adobe Device Central CS5 tested the created software on devices with different characteristics.

Abstract:
Abstract Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSNs) advances can route multimedia applications from source nodes to a sink. However, they require energy efficiency and network lifetime due to limited power resources in the sensor nodes. This paper proposes an energy-efficient routing optimization for multimedia transmission in WMSNs. The optimization utilizes a routing algorithm based on the dynamic programming. The routing optimization algorithm selects intermediary nodes which have minimum energy above 60%. Then, the priority selection of paths immediately finds neighboring nodes which have the greatest energy minimum. If there is the same minimum energy between the neighboring nodes, then the second priority selection is based on smaller link cost.

With the maturity and popularity of network technology and multimedia technology, more and more communication tools and means have entered people’s lives. The usual communication tools are often limited to the ability to transmit sound signals. This method does not well express the information between the two parties in some special occasions, such as a noisy environment, where both parties have language or hearing impairments. The multimedia communication system is a technology that combines network communication and multimedia. It utilizes the efficiency of data transmission over the network and the diversity of information in multimedia, making communication between people faster, clearer, and more intuitive. The multimedia communication system is an important part of the application to the intelligent transportation system. Intelligent transportation system is a systematic, real-time, accurate, interactive, and extensive traffic management system established by the comprehensive use of modern high and new technology in the transportation system. With these characteristics, intelligent transportation system has increasingly become an important means to solve modern traffic problems. Based on multimedia communication and intelligent transportation system, this article optimizes the vehicle path and realizes the application of intelligent transportation. The proposed intelligent transportation system realizes functions, such as vehicle speed detection, vehicle behavior semantic analysis, license plate recognition by processing video data, and image data acquired based on multimedia communication, and can capture illegal vehicles and then identify illegal vehicles. Abstract:
Although cross-layer has been thought as one of the most effective and efficient ways for multimedia communications over wireless networks and a plethora of research has been done in this area, there is still lacking of a rigorous mathematical model to gain in-depth understanding of cross-layer design tradeoffs, spanning from application layer to physical layer. As a result, many existing cross-layer designs enhance the performance of certain layers at the price of either introducing side effects to the overall system performance or violating the syntax and semantics of the layered network architecture. Therefore, lacking of a rigorous theoretical study makes existing cross-layer designs rely on heuristic approaches which are unable to guarantee sound results efficiently and consistently. In this paper, we attempt to fill this gap and develop a new methodological foundation for cross-layer design in wireless multimedia communications. We first introduce a delay-distortion-driven cross-layer optimization framework which can be solved as a large-scale dynamic programming problem. Then, we present new approximate dynamic programming based on significance measure and sensitivity analysis for high-dimensional nonlinear cross-layer optimization in support of real-time multimedia applications. The major contribution of this paper is to present the first rigorous theoretical modeling for integrated cross-layer control and optimization in wireless multimedia communications, providing design insights into multimedia communications over current wireless networks and throwing light on design optimization of the next-generation wireless multimedia systems and networks.

Abstract:
Intelligent transport system is one of thriving research domain and in particular multimedia vehicular networks gains more attention. The deployment of multimedia services in vehicle ad-hoc networks (VANETs) provides real time support to users and provides better traffic management with high safety measures. Most of the vehicles has multimedia applications such as weather sensors, real time map applications etc., and it requires adequate resources to process. Resource allocation to a static network is simple and various routing models are evolved. In case of dynamic network like VANETs, routing is still in progress in order to obtain a better model. Routing directly related to quality of services of network and user, it is essential to develop a better dynamic routing strategy for multimedia wireless networks. The proposed work aims to provide an optimized dynamic routing strategy for multimedia networks. For efficient routing, k-means clustering is used to organize the clusters and exchanges the routing information and inverted ant colony optimization is used to obtain the optimal path for multimedia access. Proposed model is experimentally verified and compared to conventional ant colony optimization and grey wolf optimization in terms of parameters such as end to end delay, throughput, target used, average computation time and efficiency.

Abstract:
In recent days, vehicles have been equipped with smart devices that offer various multimedia-related applications and services, such as smart driving assistance, traffic congestions, weather forecasting, road safety alarms, and many entertainment and comfort applications. Thus, these smart vehicles produce a large amount of multimedia-related data that require fast and real-time processing. However, due to constrained computing and storage capacities, such huge amounts of multimedia-related data cannot be processed in on-board standalone devices. Thus, multimedia cloud computing (MCC) has emerged as an economical and scalable computing technology that can process multimedia-related data efficiently while providing improved Quality of Service (QoS) to vehicular users from anywhere, at any time and on any device, at reduced costs. However, there are certain challenges, such as fast service response time and resource cost optimization, that can severely affect the performance of the MCC. Therefore, to tackle these issues, in this paper, we propose a dynamic priority-based architecture for the MCC. In the proposed scheme, we divide multimedia processing into four different subphases, while computing resources to each computing server are assigned dynamically, according to the workload, in order to process multimedia tasks according to the multimedia user Quality of Experience (QoE) requirements. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated in terms of service response time and resource cost optimization using the CloudSim simulator.

Abstract:
In recent years, with the continuous advancement of multimedia technology and network technology, network-based multimedia applications are increasing day by day, both in scale and in the number of users. However, the randomness, time-varying, and complexity of user behavior and network make it impossible to guarantee the service quality (bandwidth, delay, etc.) of multimedia services, thus making it difficult to meet the demands of growing users for multimedia services. While meeting the application requirements, how to design and develop a scalable multimedia service system has become one of the key issues to support good multimedia services and better develop multimedia service services. In addition, the surge in user demand comes with various challenges. High-definition and smooth multimedia services require stable bandwidth. However, the randomness, time-varying, and complexity of user behaviors and network states usually make it difficult to guarantee the quality of services. It is of practical significance to study how to overcome these problems, and it is also a hotspot of current research. This paper mainly discusses the extensibility elements of the multimedia service system and puts forward the relationship between the extensibility of various elements and some design principles of the extensibility. In order to overcome the influence of random variation of the wireless channel on video playback, this paper adopts scalable coding technology. That is, through the analysis of the playback process, the underflow probability is proposed and defined, thereby establishing a constrained optimization problem. Finally, this paper also proposes the multimedia adaptive transmission in the network to do the optimization.

The modern embedded multimedia electronic devices rely on dynamically-allocated data structures to store and process their data, as a result, the demand of its memory capacity and dynamic are increasing unceasingly. In order to better solve the memory application optimization in embedded device, this paper represents multimedia application’s dynamic data structures optimization flow and improved or modified NSGA-II multi-objective evolutionary algorithm (MNSGA-II), and uses three objective functions: embedded device’s memory accesses, memory use and energy consumption. The MNSGA-II algorithm adopts repeat crowded distance sorting tactics to improve NSGA-II based on keeping the advantage of the original NSGA-II for multi-objective optimization problem. The experiment results show that MNSGA-II has better performance of the convergence and the diversity of solutions than original NSGA-II, and the optimal dynamic data structure implementation is successful by performing our method for one real embedded multimedia device’s memory application.

Abstract:
In order to improve the efficiency of medical multimedia information sharing, this paper combines cloud computing technology and SOA (service-oriented architecture) technology to build a medical multimedia information sharing system. Building a medical information sharing platform requires integrating information resources stored in information systems of medical institutions and nonmedical information systems related to medical information and forming a huge resource pool. It is important to mine and analyze the information resources in the resource pool to realize the sharing and interaction of medical information. To this end, this paper proposes a gain-adaptive control algorithm with online adjustable parameters and investigates the extension of the mutual entropy optimization algorithm in the control domain and its integrated processing capability in the process of medical multimedia information processing. In addition, this paper constructs a medical multimedia information sharing and collaboration platform with medical multimedia information sharing and telemedicine as the core and verifies the effectiveness of the platform through experiments. The simulation results and comparison results with other systems prove that the system in this paper can realize fast data processing, retrieve and analyze massive data, and meet the demand of remote intelligent diagnosis under the premise of safety and stability. Meanwhile, the system in this paper can help hospitals achieve fast and accurate diagnosis, which has strong theoretical and practical values.

Abstract:
Traditional transport layer protocols have been designed to perform end-to-end error control transparently to the intermediate nodes (e.g., TCP). To address the severe resource constraints featured by Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), new paradigms have been developed such as intermediate caching where intermediate nodes are able to cache packets and if possible retransmit them on-demand to avoid incurring costly end-to-end retransmissions. Lately, Wireless Multimedia Sensor Network (WMSN) has been considered as a new research area whereby WSNs are targeted for the delivery of multimedia traffic. In this paper, we propose a NACK-based repair mechanism coupled with an adaptive MAC layer retransmission scheme in order to improve the performance of caching-based WMSN transport protocols. Specifically, our goal is to be able to reduce real-time end-to-end delay while maintaining reliability and energy efficiency in the presence of high channel error rates. Our simulation results show that the ensemble of both mechanisms provides better good put performance while simultaneously improving energy efficiency. Furthermore, the improved protocol also achieves lower deadline miss ratios making it suitable for multimedia transport. While we demonstrate the effectiveness of the mechanisms by incorporating them into the basic Distributed Transport for Sensor Networks (DTSN) protocol, they are generic enough to be applicable to other WSN and WMSN transport protocols.

Abstract:
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) have been widely applied in monitoring and surveillance fields in recent years and have dramatically changed the methodologies and technologies in monitoring and surveillance. However, the sensor nodes in WSN have very limited computing resources and power supply, and thus the maximization of network life is a very critical issue. In the newly-emerging Wireless Multimedia Sensor Network (WMSN), the high volume of sensed video data needs to be compressed before transmission. Different video coding schemes have been developed and applied to wireless multimedia sensor networks, and there exists a tradeoff between the power consumption of data compression and that of data transmission. Video compression will reduce the amount of data that needs to be transmitted and thus the amount of power consumed for data transmission; however, too much video compression will consume excessive power which outweighs the power savings on data transmission. Thus, how to reach an optimized balance between compression and transmission and maximize network life becomes a challenging research issue. In this paper, the authors propose mathematical models which describe power consumptions of data compression and transmission of sensor nodes in hexagon-shaped clusters. Under the proposed model, they have achieved the optimized data compression ratio which can minimize the overall power consumption of the whole cluster.

Abstract:
In order to study multimedia urban road path optimization based on genetic algorithm, a dynamic path optimization based on genetic algorithm is proposed. Firstly, for the current situation of traffic congestion, time constraints are strictly considered based on the traditional hard time window logistics distribution vehicle scheduling problem model. Then, the mathematical model is established, and the optimal solution is solved by the combination of decomposition coordination algorithm and genetic algorithm. We divide multiple customers into different customer groups and determine the service object order of each express car in each customer group, so as to obtain the most valuable scheduling scheme. Finally, in the process of solving the model, the relevant and reliable distribution basis for enterprise distribution is collected, including customer geographical coordinates, demand, delivery time window, unit cost required for loading and unloading, loading and unloading time, and penalty cost to be borne by distribution enterprises after early arrival and late arrival. Using the improved genetic algorithm, the optimal solution of each objective function is actually obtained in about 140 generations, which is faster than that before the improvement. Using the genetic algorithm based on sequence coding, a hybrid genetic algorithm is constructed to solve the model problem. Through the comparative analysis of experimental data, it is known that the algorithm has good performance, is a feasible algorithm to solve the VSP problem with time window, and can quickly obtain the vehicle routing scheduling scheme with reference value.

Abstract:
With the development of communication technology, wireless Internet has become more and more popular. The traditional network layered protocols cannot meet the increasingly rich network services, especially video. This paper briefly introduced the cross-layer transmission of video in wireless network and the cross-layer optimization algorithm used for improving video transmission quality and improved the traditional cross-layer algorithm. Then, the two cross-layer algorithms were simulated and analyzed on MATLAB software. The results showed that the packet delivery rate, peak signal to noise ratio and downlink throughput of the improved cross-layer algorithm were significantly higher than those of the traditional cross-layer algorithm under the same signal to interference plus noise ratio of receiving users in wireless network; meanwhile, with the increase of signal to interference plus noise ratio of the receiving user, the packet delivery rate and peak signal to noise ratio of the two algorithms increased, and tended to be stable after some signal to interference plus noise ratio, while the throughput of the two algorithms increased linearly. In the established real wireless network, the package delivery rate, peak signal to noise ratio and throughput of video after application of cross-layer algorithm were significantly improved, and the wireless network applying the improved cross-layer algorithm improved more. In summary, compared with the traditional cross-layer algorithm, the improved cross-layer algorithm can better improve the transmission quality of video in wireless network.

Abstract:
WSN multimedia services are currently being used by several types of applications. These services experiences performance related issues in the form of slow data rates, packet loss etc. due to stringent resources. Lots of solutions are contributed to develop a system that optimizes the resources utilization, performance and packet loss. Performance evaluation for enhancing QoS of WSN is also required where packets arrive and depart the service facility (sink) in burst. In this paper, novel analytical approach is developed for packets arrival from sensor node in burst and departure of services after getting the facility, in burst. The evaluation has been performed by shifting coefficient of variance for the time when services are provided in burst and when services are arrived on different scales of utilization of the sink node. At the end of this paper quantitative results are compared after applying priority to data packets to check credibility of proposed solution.

Abstract:
Accessing multimedia services via fixed and wireless networks has become common practice. These services are typically much more sensitive to packet loss, delay and/or congestion than traditional services. In particular, multimedia data is often time critical and, as a result, network issues are not well tolerated and significantly deteriorate the user’s Quality of Experience (QoE). Therefore, the authors propose a QoE optimization platform that is able to mitigate problems that might occur at any location in the delivery path from service provider to customer. More specifically, the distributed architecture supports overlay routing to circumvent erratic parts of the network core. In addition, it comprises proxy components that realize last mile optimization through automatic bandwidth management and the application of processing on multimedia flows. This paper introduces a trans-coding service for this proxy component which enables the transformation of H.264/AVC video flows to an arbitrary bitrate. Through representative experimental results, the authors illustrate how this addition enhances the QoE optimization capabilities of the proposed platform by allowing the proxy component to compute more flexible and effective bandwidth distributions.
