Abstract:
We give a short overview on the decomposition property for integrable multifunctions, i.e., when an “integrable in a certain sense” multifunction can be represented as a sum of one of its integrable selections and a multifunction integrable in a narrower sense. The decomposition theorems are important tools of the theory of multivalued integration since they allow us to see an integrable multifunction as a translation of a multifunction with better properties. Consequently, they provide better characterization of integrable multifunctions under consideration. There is a large literature on it starting from the seminal paper of the authors in 2006, where the property was proved for Henstock integrable multifunctions taking compact convex values in a separable Banach space X. In this paper, we summarize the earlier results, we prove further results and present tables which show the state of art in this topic.

AbstractThe aim of this paper is to explore some properties of quasiuniform multifunction spaces. Various kinds of completeness of the quasiuniform multifunction space (YmX, UmX) are characterized in terms of suitable properties of the range space (Y, U). We also discuss the local compactness of quasiuniform multifunction spaces. By using the notion of small-set symmetry, the classic result of Hunsaker and Naimpally is extended to the quasiuniform setting.

The notions of a Baire-1 and a weak Baire-1 multifunction are defined and a striking analogy between Baire-1 multifunctions and classical Baire-1 functions is established. A selection theorem is presented which asserts that if X is a metrisable space, Y a Polish space and F: X → 2Y/{∅} a closed-valued, weak Baire-1 multifunction, then F admits a Baire-1 selection. Using the machinery developed we prove that if X is a Banach space with separable dual, then every weak* usco, defined on a completely metrisable space Z, which values are weakly* compact subsets of the dual, is norm lower semicontinuous on a dense Gδ set.

Abstract:
Due to the limitation of slum dweller’s residence, they use public spaces for their daily activities. One kind of them is a park. Public space used for various kinds of activities by slum dwellers is called a multifunction public space. Utilization of multifunction public space can potentially lead to spatial use conflict which interfere with its functional sustainability. The aim of this research was to identify the level of sustainability of the utilization of a multifunction public space in the slum area. This research used a quantitative approach and a questionnaires survey method. Respondents were slum dwellers using the park. The total respondents was 96 by using the Lemeshow formula. The results showed that there were differences in the level of sustainability among three parks. The highest level of sustainable utilization is Pendongkelan, the medium level is Melati Indah, and the lowest level is Taman Anggrek. There were four aspects of sustainability which were measured. Diversity and harmony were two aspects determining sustainability. For sustainability of spatial utilization of the multifunction public space in the slum area need management to take care of the size of the park, the availability of park amenities, and its accessibility.

Abstract:
In urban areas where increased density has caused loss of urban open space (UOS), there is a need for high-quality parks that are inclusive and fit for multiple user groups. To make parks more inclusive, UOS management may need to consider multifunction and the perspectives of various age groups in future development and maintenance activities. Walking interviews were conducted in a park in central Landskrona, Sweden, with children, adolescents, and elderly users, and also with the head park manager of the city. The results revealed different perspectives among the three age groups of users concerning affordances and UOS management. The manager described user-oriented management to support multifunction and inclusion, including user participation. All user groups studied showed an appreciation of liveliness, contact with nature, social places for their own age group, clean and safe parks, and a variety of different atmospheres and activities in the park. Social multifunction can be developed in programmed or non-programmed ways, but some functions interfere with each other. UOS managers can develop parks to suit different age groups, promote user participation within management, and develop social multifunction to create inclusive parks for various age groups.

Abstract:
The Hβ-Hausdorff–Pompeiu b-metric for β∈[0,1] is introduced as a new variant of the Hausdorff–Pompeiu b-metric H. Various types of multi-valued Hβ-contractions are introduced and fixed point theorems are proved for such contractions in a b-metric space. The multi-valued Nadler contraction, Czervik contraction, q-quasi contraction, Hardy Rogers contraction, weak quasi contraction and Ciric contraction existing in literature are all one or the other type of multi-valued Hβ-contraction but the converse is not necessarily true. Proper examples are given in support of our claim. As applications of our results, we have proved the existence of a unique multi-valued fractal of an iterated multifunction system defined on a b-metric space and an existence theorem of Filippov type for an integral inclusion problem by introducing a generalized norm on the space of selections of the multifunction.

We study the topological and algebraic properties of SΦ equaling the set of selectors of Φ(·) whose primitive is an integrable selector of F(·). We shall show how each multifunction on a Banach space determines a convex function that gives a considerable amount of information about the structure of the multifunction. Using standard results on convex functions and a standard minimax theorem, we strengthen known results on the local boundedness of a monotone operator, and the convexity of the interior and closure of the domain of a maximal monotone operator. In addition, we prove that any point surrounded by (in a sense made precise) the convex hull of the domain of a maximal monotone operator is automatically in the interior of the domain, thus settling an open problem.

A multifunctional system that performs synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and communication tasks is presented. The system depends on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) waveform shaping and multiple input multiple output (MIMO) configuration to achieve enhancement in the spectral efficiency of communication operation and provide interference rejection in SAR imaging. The SAR interval idle time is utilized to enhance the communication signal through diversity. Adaptive system features are introduced to achieve multi-user detection and improve the communication reliability, by means of space division multiple access (SDMA) and space–time block coding (STBC). Investigations of linear and nonlinear multi-user detection (MUD) techniques are provided. Moreover, a genetic algorithm-based system is developed to optimize the MUD problem and to provide near-optimal performance even for overloaded scenarios. A gain of more than 4 dB is achieved at bit error rate of 10-2.

Abstract:
Rural areas are a natural, economic and social complex with multiple functions. Identifying rural multifunction scientifically is the basis for promoting efficient rural spatial planning and sustainable development strategy. In this paper, we calculated and characterized the rural production-living-ecological (PLE) functions at a grid scale of 300 × 300 m in Miyun District by establishing an evaluation index system. Several types of rural functional area were identified with the help of an ISO cluster unsupervised classification tool. Three main results were found as follows. (1) The values of the production, living, ecological functions and multifunction ranged from 0–0.101, 0–0.204, 0.009–0.241 and 0.009–0.302, respectively. Ecological function was dominant in this area. (2) The overall spatial patterns of production and living functions showed the characteristic of being “high in the south and low in the north”, and areas with high values were almost distributed around urban areas and the Miyun Reservoir. While for the ecological function and multifunction, they possessed the opposite characteristics to production and living functions, with high values concentrated in the mountainous areas in the northwest, northeast, east and south of Miyun District. (3) According to the clustering results, rural multifunction of Miyun District was divided into four types: ecological conservation, employment and residence, recreation and potential development, with the area proportions of 44.22%, 17.92%, 20.73% and 17.13%, respectively. Each functional type showed a characteristic of agglomeration. In the future, the study of rural multifunction at micro scales should be paid more attention to better understand the functional differences within the country. This research can provide a decision-making reference for demarcation of rural production-living-ecological space and compilation of spatial planning.

Purpose Shared space is a design and engineering concept that gains attention in the context of both regeneration of, for example, former production sites and in the context of designing new building complex(es) with a multifunction strategy. But the practicalities of realising shared space are generally overlooked, despite its importance for the user experience and the degree of success with shared space initiatives. The purpose of this study is to increase the knowledge of shared space and the complex processes involved in realising multiple use of space. Design/methodology/approach To achieve the purpose stated, the paper presents a study of current literature and four cases of shared space, including a commercial building, a public sport facility, a public health centre and an educational building. The study draws on theory from the fields of property management, space management, urban design and architecture, as well as from the social sciences and geography, to provide an as complete picture as possible of the challenges related to shared spaces in practice. Findings The result of the study presented is increased knowledge of the processes involved in sharing space in a facilities management context, supported by specific recommendations regarding attention to issues of territoriality, involvement and practicalities. Originality/value Not much scientific work has been conducted on the topic of shared space in a facilities management context, and this study adds to the so far limited knowledge within the area.

Abstract:
This paper formulates a new approach to the study of chaos in discrete dynamical systems based on the notions of inverse ill-posed problems, set-valued mappings, generalized and multivalued inverses, graphical convergence of a net of functions in an extended multifunction space [Sengupta & Ray, 2000] and the topological theory of convergence. Order, chaos and complexity are described as distinct components of this unified mathematical structure that can be viewed as an application of the theory of convergence in topological spaces to increasingly nonlinear mappings, with the boundary between order and complexity in the topology of graphical convergence being the region in (Multi(X)) that is susceptible to chaos. The paper uses results from the discretized spectral approximation in neutron transport theory [Sengupta, 1988, 1995] and concludes that the numerically exact results obtained by this approximation of the Case singular eigenfunction solution is due to the graphical convergence of the Poisson and conjugate Poisson kernels to the Dirac delta and the principal value multifunctions respectively. In (Multi(X)), the continuous spectrum is shown to reduce to a point spectrum, and we introduce a notion of latent chaotic states to interpret superposition over generalized eigenfunctions. Along with these latent states, spectral theory of nonlinear operators is used to conclude that nature supports complexity to attain efficiently a multiplicity of states that otherwise would remain unavailable to it.

Abstract:
The Space Shuttle Cockpit Avionics Upgrade (CAU) is a proposed cockpit display upgrade designed to address human-factors usability issues of the current suite of cockpit displays, Multifunction Electronic Display System (MEDS). Unlike MEDS, CAU consolidates information in a task-oriented manner, rather than a data-source-oriented manner. CAU also makes greater use of color coding and graphical depictions in systems status presentations. An ascent-phase operation simulation study showed that CAU formats significantly improved the participants' abort-related situation awareness. Participants also performed certain malfunction management procedures more accurately when CAU was used. The Space Shuttles are now scheduled to be retired by 2010 without incorporating CAU; however, the results of the present study suggest that the human-centered design concepts are effective and can be extended to the cockpit interface design of NASA's next generation Crew Exploration Vehicle.

Abstract:
The context of the concept of modern burial traditions is an inseparable from religion, which is a base to convey natural customs of the unique culture using numinous values. In the sense of allegory, burial character conveys immortality vision. Therefore there are many variations of interpretation in different cultures at a different time. A fundamental change of burial typology and architecture happens due to the changes of the life style. Scientific advance is the most fateful thing, which changes the attitude towards the functionality as well as to creativity in the burial sector. Due to the postmodernism, an exceptional, relatively separate form of the burial – virtual information bases of the dead, also actual as an alternative direction of the applied art to visual expression, have been formed on the basis of digital technologies. Essential objects of today‘s burial space topic are identified as a holistic optimisation of the consumerism, full-fledged integration of burial spaces in modern urbanistic structures and formation of multicultures. The solutions of this topic usually come through the multifunction of burial territories, burial nature and multifunction of architecture, as well as universal application, the priority of stable creation of the environment, including the search of the new typological alternatives of the burial. The components of burial space formation, significant to Lithuania, more or less match the global situation. Therefore, it is favourable for the state to take more objective account of the viable long-term juridical base and policy of burial space planning, the strategy of which would not lack of national features of heritage protection, however, using architecture as a means, would convey memorial persistent value and significance of the commemoration of the dead in a modern and creative way.

Abstract:
In the article is considered the principle of the formation of the measuring channel for multifunction phased array radar in tracking mode using one of the short-range air defense radar system as an example. A new approach to the problem is offered, which is based on considering the change of noise levels both in the measuring channel and in the dynamic model of the target being tracked and is adaptive to its motion in space. The number of simultaneously monitored targets is calculated under the condition of application of the proposed principle of channel formation. The efficiency of the obtained solutions is confirmed. The conclusion is made about the expediency of application of this method in the existing air defense systems, the modernization of which is currently underway.

Abstract:
In order to improve the seeding efficiency and quality of water-saving mulch planters, a kind of multifunction mulch planter with laying irrigation tape was designed based on duckbill type precision seed metering device. It broke the pattern of single planting machine and realized duplex joint seeding operations. The seeding and film mulching performance were also improved by optimizing the seed metering device and film laying device. The planter has the characteristics of simple operation, less investment, reliable performance and good film-mulching result. The result of field test showed that: the average seed space is 150mm; the working speed is 4.3km/h; the pass rate of grain distance is 96.7%; the vacancy rate is 0.8%, the pass rate of seed number is 99.2%. So the sowing quality of the planter is well.

Abstract:
This paper proposes a multiple microfluidic streambased manipulation (MMSM) system for bio-objects. It uses micro hydrodynamics and lab on chip (LOC) technology. Our method can implement the functions of micro manipulation and micro assembly of bio-objects in an open space without contact. Compared to other conventional bio-micro-manipulation and assembly methods, this system manipulates micro objects by controlling multiple microfluidic streams onto them from various directions. The advantages of this method are that it performs open space, multifunction, multi-scale, multi-degree-of-freedom, and non-invasive 3D manipulation. These microfluidic streams are generated simultaneously from multiple orifices. By regulating the parameters of the microfluidic stream, such as the position and number of operating orifices and the flow rate, the direction and velocity of the object can be controlled. To verify this principle, we design an open-space fluidic system for on-chip manipulation and calculated velocity and direction of the microfluidic stream using CFD simulation. Then the prototype microchip with an array of nine orifices is fabricated from glass. In experiments, demonstrations of rectilinear motion of a single cell andmicro particle are observed. The results presented in this paper show that this MMSM is capable of biomicromanipulation and micro assembly of bio-objects.

Topological properties of the solution set are presented. Applications to control problems and subdifferential operators are provided.

This paper is mainly devoted to the study of implicit multifunction theorems in terms of Clarke coderivative in general Banach spaces. We present new sufficient conditions for the local metric regularity, metric regularity, Lipschitz-like property, nonemptiness, and lower semicontinuity of implicit multifunctions in general Banach spaces. The basic tools of our analysis involve the Ekeland variational principle, the Clarke subdifferential, and the Clarke coderivative.

Applying metric (Banach-like) and topological (Schauder-like) fixed-point theorems, the existence of metric and topological fractals is respectively proved as (sub)invariant subsets of the Hutchinson–Barnsley map generated by a multifunction system. Weakly contractive and compact multifunction systems are considered, but systems of more general multifunctions are discussed as well. The notions of hyperspaces and AR-spaces are employed for this goal.

Let (E, τ) be a Hausdorff topological vector space and (X, ω) a weakly compact convex subset of E with the relative weak topology ω. Recently, there have appeared best approximation and fixed point theorems for convex-valued upper semicontinuous maps F: (X, ω) → 2(E, τ) whenever (E, τ) is locally convex. In this paper, these results are extended to a very broad class of multifunctions containing composites of acyclic maps in a topological vector space having sufficiently many linear functionals. Moreover, we also obtain best approximation theorems for classes of multifunctions defined on approximatively compact convex subsets of locally convex Hausdorff topological vector spaces or closed convex subsets of Banach spaces with the Oshman property.

In this paper we introduce the concept of a new type of cluster sets, termed $\delta$-cluster sets, of functions and multifunctions between topological spaces. Expressions of such sets are found and multifunctions with $\delta$-closed graphs are characterized. Also the behaviour of $\delta$-cluster sets toward a-continuity of a func- tion is observed. Finally as applications, we find new characterizations of almost regularity, near compactness and near Lindelofness of a topological space in terms of $\delta$-cluster sets of suitable multifunctions.
