Abstract:
Psychodrama is a method of research and intervention in interpersonal relationships. Objective: The aim of the present study is to investigate and train group relationships in a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Material & Methods: Participants: The study population included employees who work in a Basic Family Health (UBSF), which was randomly selected. This facility was located in a medium-sized city within the state of São Paulo. We used the following tools: Form of Profile Survey and Interview Guide associated to Socio-demographic Data, Relational Functioning, and the team’s Sociometric choices. The researchers designed other Instruments of Protocol. Procedure: The participants responded to the study instruments and subsequently they underwent the Role Playing Program. They were re-evaluated at the end of the Development and Training Roles Program and reassessed at the end of the program. Patients show good clinical evaluation free of complications in a 60-day follow-up. Conclusions: The results show changes and improvements in the personal lives of those involved in their performance at work, and in the creation of coping strategies due to the professional role. Our results also indicate the importance of continuous and permanent training to maintain the properly functioning of the team. The participants also need a greater time to achieve internal and subjective changes identified with the intervention. We achieved the proposed objectives, which were as follows: effectiveness of the sociopsychodramatic methodology in groups regarding training and role play and changes in interdisciplinary relationships. However, more research on a case by case basis is recommended in order to generalize the results.

Abstract:
Expressive Minds and Artistic Creations: Studies in Cognitive Poetics presents multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research papers describing new developments in the field of cognitive poetics. The chapters examine the complex connections between cognition and poetics with special attention given to how people both create and interpret novel artistic works in a variety of expressive media, including literature, music, art, and multimodal artifacts. The authors have diverse disciplinary backgrounds, but all of them embrace theories and research findings from multiple perspectives, such as linguistics, psychology, literary studies, music, art, neuroscience, and media studies. Several authors explicitly discuss empirical and theoretical challenges in doing interdisciplinary work, which many believe is essential to future progress in cognitive poetics. Scholars address many specific research questions in their chapters, such as, most notably, the role of embodiment and simulation in human imagination, the importance of conceptual metaphors and conceptual blending processes in the creation and interpretation of literature, and the function of multiperspectivity in poetic and multimodal texts. Several new ideas are also advanced in the volume regarding the cognitive mechanisms responsible for artistic creations and understandings. The volume overall offers an expanded view of cognitive poetics research that situates the study of expressive minds within a broader range of personal, social, cultural, and historical contexts. Among other leading researchers, contributors include world-famous scholars of psychology, linguistics, and literature—Raymond W. Gibbs, Jr., Zoltásn Kövecses, and Reuven Tsur—whose defining papers also survey the roles and significance of conceptual mechanisms in literature.

Abstract:
The dispersal of Austronesian-speaking farmer-voyagers from Taiwan into Island Southeast Asia (ISEA) and out into the Pacific is one of the great metanarratives of global history. In this chapter, the major lines of multidisciplinary evidence for the “Austronesian” dispersal into ISEA are critically evaluated. Several key points emerge: usage of the term “Austronesian” should be restricted to languages and not be applied to genetic attributes or material culture; the dispersals of genes and Austronesian languages do not correspond within ISEA; and, there is limited evidence for the dispersal of farming across ISEA together with the spread of Austronesian languages from Taiwan. An alternative, multidirectional, distance-decay scenario is advanced for the spread of domesticated animals and plants, cultivation practices, and other material cultural items, in which the inhabitants of ISEA are active participants in the creation of their own history.

Abstract:
Dear Participants of the 20th János Szentágothai International Multidisciplinary Scientific Conference and Student Competition! It is a great honor and an overwhelming joy to announce the 20th János Szentágothai International Student Conference and Competition in 2022 and welcome all those who have volunteered to engage in the joint endeavor either by presenting their papers, undertaking the blind-reviewing, functioning as session moderators or carrying out academic and organizing tasks. The success of the conference is warranted by the joint efforts from all of you. A dream has come true! The ideas of the founders of the Szentágothai Scholastic Honorary Society to provide a meeting-point for the most open-minded and innovative young researchers from the University of Pécs and later from all around the Carpathian Basin have been realized in the series of conferences since 2004. The first five annual conferences involved students from our home university, gradually shifting emphasis on multidisciplinarity. The first breakthrough conference was the John Calvin Conference in 2009 which opened the doors for international participants and yielded a successful edited volume of the papers presented on the conference. Our Scholastic Honorary Society has boasted with a trend-setting new tradition of organizing its annual international conferences, commencing with the 7th Szentágothai International Multidisciplinary Scientific Conference in 2012. In the same year, we managed to organize the 8th János Szentágothai Memorial Conference and Student Competition which provided the standard pattern for our annual conferences of later years. We are celebrating the advent of the 20th János Szentágothai International Multidisciplinary Scientific Conference and Student Competition in 2022. We are proud to acknowledge that the driving force behind our activities is a set of specific features of the conferences: openness, multidisciplinarity, uncompromising work ethics, international quality of the student conferences and competitions with preliminary blind-reviews of the papers. We are also keen on providing an amicable, enjoyable and creative atmosphere and a fair competitive context to all participant on our conferences. May I wish all of you successful participation and memorable experience with the Szentágothai Scholastic Honorary Society.

Abstract:
This chapter reviews multidisciplinary research from the fields of consumer behavior, humanistic and positive psychology, music education, and other areas to develop a new Transcendent Model of Motivation for Music Making. One’s “extended self” identity can be defined partly by possessions and mastery over objects, and objects can “complete” the self. Music making involves a person’s investment of “psychic energy,” including attention, time, learning, and efforts, and is a creative path which can lead to peak experiences and flow. Music making can help satisfy social needs, achieve self-actualization, experience self-transcendence, enhance well-being, strengthen spirituality, and improve the quality of life.

Abstract:
This book provides an in-depth exploration of the phenomenon of hacking from a multidisciplinary perspective that addresses the social and technological aspects of this unique activity as well as its impact. What defines the social world of hackers? How do individuals utilize hacking techniques against corporations, governments, and the general public? And what motivates them to do so? This book traces the origins of hacking from the 1950s to today and provides an in-depth exploration of the ways in which hackers define themselves, the application of malicious and ethical hacking techniques, and how hackers' activities are directly tied to the evolution of the technologies we use every day. Rather than presenting an overly technical discussion of the phenomenon of hacking, this work examines the culture of hackers and the technologies they exploit in an easy-to-understand format. Additionally, the book documents how hacking can be applied to engage in various forms of cybercrime, ranging from the creation of malicious software to the theft of sensitive information and fraud–acts that can have devastating effects upon our modern information society.

Abstract:
This chapter synthesizes literature on multidisciplinary and multicultural creative teams. We examine the main similarities and differences between cultural and disciplinary diversity; summarize the primary, relevant theories; describe the extant literature on the relationship between team diversity and creativity, information sharing, conflict, and other factors; and point out gaps in the literature and potential future work. Diversity can benefit creativity if the underlying breadth of perspectives is harnessed, but the relationship between diversity and creativity is a complex and heavily moderated one. This chapter integrates recent advances, such as multilevel theory, the importance of shared mental models, and different aspects of creativity. In addition, this chapter highlights the importance of faultlines, or when multiple types of diversity align within the same team. Future research should take a broader systems perspective, examining factors such as type and degree of diversity, context of the team, and time/group development, among other variables.

Abstract:
Following some of our eminent predecessors of recent decades, this volume takes a multidisciplinary approach to the notion of divine revelation to examine what it can mean in our time. Thus the book is divided into parts, reflecting how a proper understanding of God’s revelation can be reached systemically, with each part offering an avenue by which to comprehend divine disclosure. Some chapters deal with the biblical background to revelation; others examine the delicate relationship between a Christian understanding of the fulfilment of revelation in Christ and the original revelation given to Moses and Abraham, and to the created whole in the act of creation; yet others explore the theological aspects of revelation, from the Trinitarian problematic to charismatic forms of revelation. The philosophical explorations of revelation show the importance of philosophical reflection on revelation today and over time. A radical understanding of revelation is the ultimate horizon of the reality of divine revelation, connecting biblical, theological, philosophical, historical and comparative, and scientific approaches. Revelation-related forms in Hinduism, Buddhism, the Chinese tradition, and African religions contribute to an understanding of the important role of divine revelation in connecting cultures and religions around the globe. The notion of revelation in Judaism and Islam also has a paramount role in any comparative understanding, which must extend to the importance of our conceptions of revelation in the context of European history, especially the Holocaust, a watershed in our contemporary reflections on revelation which triggered radical re-evaluation of traditional theological and philosophical conceptions.

Abstract:
Info-metrics is a framework for modeling, reasoning, and drawing inferences under conditions of noisy and insufficient information. It is an interdisciplinary framework situated at the intersection of information theory, statistical inference, and decision-making under uncertainty. In a recent book on the Foundations of Info-Metrics, Golan (OUP, 2018) provides the theoretical underpinning of info-metrics and the necessary tools and building blocks for using that framework. This volume complements Golan’s book and expands on the series of studies on the classical maximum entropy and Bayesian methods published in the different proceedings started with the seminal collection of Levine and Tribus (1979) and continuing annually. The objective of this volume is to expand the study of info-metrics, and information processing, across the sciences and to further explore the basis of information-theoretic inference and its mathematical and philosophical foundations. This volume is inherently interdisciplinary and applications oriented. It contains some of the recent developments in the field, as well as many new cross-disciplinary case studies and examples. The emphasis here is on the interrelationship between information and inference where we view the word ‘inference’ in its most general meaning – capturing all types of problem solving. That includes model building, theory creation, estimation, prediction, and decision making. The volume contains nineteen chapters in seven parts. Although chapters in each part are related, each chapter is self-contained; it provides the necessary tools for using the info-metrics framework for solving the problem confronted in that chapter. This volume is designed to be accessible for researchers, graduate students, and practitioners across the disciplines, requiring only some basic quantitative skills. The multidisciplinary nature and applications provide a hands-on experience for the reader.

Abstract:
Slow progression of proximal weakness in an adult may suggest Becker muscular dystrophy, but limb-girdle muscular dystrophy needs to be considered. This chapter discusses a diagnostic approach that includes the utility of ever-evolving genetic tests. Electromyography is helpful in cases of suspected muscular dystrophy without a family history, if creatine kinase levels are low, or in evaluation of possible female carriers for BMD who are symptomatic. Management considerations are also outlined. A muscular dystrophy clinic with a multidisciplinary approach is helpful for coordination of care. A consult from a clinical geneticist is often very helpful.

Abstract:
This chapter provides an overview of the development of palliative medicine as a specialized discipline, and seeks to trace the development of international initiatives that have promoted and facilitated the growth of palliative care services. The focus is on palliative care services for adults with life-limiting conditions and advanced disease. A chronological narrative is traced from the first hospices developed in Dublin, Ireland, to the emergence of the modern hospices in the United Kingdom in the 1960s. The global spread of the principles of palliative care is traced in the formation of national and regional organizations. The chapter offers evidence on the progress of educational initiatives, both within medicine and for other members of the multidisciplinary team, at undergraduate and post-qualification level. The proposal for ten core common interdisciplinary competencies defines the essential foundations of palliative care. Finally, the chapter considers what areas of palliative medicine require further development.

Abstract:
Health care in the United States is in transition. Facilitating individual patient and population-based lifestyle change is critical for creating a healthier country. Fostering prevention, promoting lifestyle change, and dealing with the high incidence and prevalence of chronic disease is within the purview of health coaching, a new health discipline. This chapter describes the emergence, theories and methodologies, and efficacy of health coaching. We describe health coaching in practice, as primary care and integrated care environments begin to incorporate health coaching within multidisciplinary health care teams. Five major coaching approaches are discussed: the transtheoretical model (stages of change), motivational interviewing, solution-focused coaching, cognitive-behavioral coaching, and mindfulness-based stress reduction. An example of a brief coaching session is presented.

Abstract:
This chapter describes a variety of self-identified ethical-critical readings of biblical narrative. The essay situates narrative ethics in relation to the “turn to ethics” traversing literary, philosophical, and biblical studies. Narrative ethics is seen as a multidisciplinary critical and creative response to contested assumptions about the nature of self, society, and ethical responsibility and the urgent need to assess the ethical impact biblical narratives and their readings have on readers. Biblical readings are discussed in terms of their philosophical, ethical, and rhetorical influences, in particular the Aristotelian virtue ethics and phenomenological/hermeneutical traditions. The contributions of Wayne Booth, Paul Ricoeur, and Emmanuel Levinas’s are traced. The chapter concludes with a narrative-ethical reading of Luke 10:38–42 using Levinas’s notions of the “face” and “excessive responsibility” to demonstrate ethical engagement with a problematic text and its commentators.

Abstract:
This chapter presents an overview of major theoretical policy network developments, disputes, and alternative models, as well as key research results. Taking a chronological approach, the first section identifies the origins of policy network research in studies of power structures and interlocking directorates. The next section examines theories of policy networks constructed on both sides of the Atlantic in the late twentieth century. The third section looks at recent policy network developments, including the emergence of global networks and applications of new theories and advanced statistical methods to policy network research. The chapter concludes that the field has greatly matured as a multidisciplinary specialty and become more institutionalized in recent years. Although it still lacks cohesion around a core set of innovative ideas that could facilitate greater integration, opportunities await for creative analysts to propose paradigms that could take policy network studies in surprising new directions.
