Abstract:
Dimensional reduction is one of the methods to ensure the quality of a questionnaire. This study examined two methods to reduce the dimension of the questionnaire: multidimensional scaling (MDS) and exploratory factor analysis (EFA). The questionnaire, Awareness of Academic Dishonesty consists of 30 questions. Participants included 110 college students. Multidimensional scaling analysis reduced the multidimensions to essentially two dimensions. The exploratory factor analysis reduced the multidimensions to three dimensions. MDS allowed the researchers to evaluate the questionnaire items by looking at the similarities of these data points. EFA provided an alternative thought about the construct of the questionnaire.

Abstract:
The purpose of the multidimension uniformity test is to check whether the underlying probability distribution of a multidimensional population differs from the multidimensional uniform distribution. The multidimensional uniformity test has applications in various fields such as biology, astronomy, and computer science. Such a test, however, has received less attention in the literature compared with the univariate case. A new test statistic for checking multidimensional uniformity is proposed in this paper. Some important properties of the proposed test statistic are discussed. As a special case, the bivariate statistic test is discussed in detail in this paper. The Monte Carlo simulation is used to compare the power of the newly proposed test with the distance-to-boundary test, which is a recently published statistical test for multidimensional uniformity. It has been shown that the test proposed in this paper is more powerful than the distance-to-boundary test in some cases.

Abstract:
A new multidimensional drift flux mixture model was developed to simulate gas–liquid droplet two-phase flows. The new drift flux model was modified by considering the centrifugal force on the liquid-droplets. Therefore the traditional 1D drift flux model was upgraded to multidimension, 2D and 3D. The slip velocities between the continual phase (gas) and the dispersed phase (liquid droplets) were able to calculate through the multidimensional diffusion flux velocities based on the new modified drift flux model. Through the numerical simulations comparing with the experiments and the simulations of other models on the backward-facing step and the water mist spray two-phase flows, the new model was validated.

Full text
Abstract:
A multidimensional, modified, fractional-order B-polys technique was implemented for finding solutions of linear fractional-order partial differential equations. To calculate the results of the linear Fractional Partial Differential Equations (FPDE), the sum of the product of fractional B-polys and the coefficients was employed. Moreover, minimization of error in the coefficients was found by employing the Galerkin method. Before the Galerkin method was applied, the linear FPDE was transformed into an operational matrix equation that was inverted to provide the values of the unknown coefficients in the approximate solution. A valid multidimensional solution was determined when an appropriate number of basis sets and fractional-order of B-polys were chosen. In addition, initial conditions were applied to the operational matrix to seek proper solutions in multidimensions. The technique was applied to four examples of linear FPDEs and the agreements between exact and approximate solutions were found to be excellent. The current technique can be expanded to find multidimensional fractional partial differential equations in other areas, such as physics and engineering fields.

Abstract:
To solve the problem that the bearing fault of variable working conditions is challenging to identify and classify in the industrial field, this paper proposes a new method based on optimization of multidimension fault energy characteristics and integrates with an improved least-squares support vector machine (LSSVM). First, because the traditional wavelet energy feature is difficult to effectively reflect the characteristics of rolling bearing under different working conditions, based on analyzing the wavelet energy feature extraction in detail, a collaborative method of multidimension fault energy feature extraction combined with the method of Transfer Component Analysis (TCA) is constructed, which improves the discrimination between the different features and the compactness between the same features of rolling bearing faults. Then, for solving the problem of the local optimal of particle swarm optimization (PSO) in fault diagnosis and recognition of rolling bearing, an improved LSSVM based on particle swarm optimization and wavelet mutation optimization is established to realize the collaborative optimization and adjustment of LSSVM dynamic parameters. Based on the improved LSSVM and optimization of multidimensional energy characteristics, a new method for fault diagnosis of rolling bearing is designed. Finally, the simulation and analysis of the proposed algorithm are verified by the experimental data of different working conditions. The experimental results show that this method can effectively extract the multidimensional fault characteristics under variable working conditions and has a high fault recognition rate.

Abstract:
With the flourishing development of the virtual community (VC), trust not only provides a guarantee and foundation for the VC operation, but is critical in activating individual trust-related behavior in a virtual setting. However, based on a review of prior literature on trust and the VC, those studies failed to pay enough attention to trust’s multidimensional nature. Specifically, the relation among multidimensional components (conditions) in the research trust model is usually less discussed. This research focuses on a set of multidimensional conditions (components) that could activate trust in the context of the VC. The research framework also focuses on the factors of the virtual community scene and individual online behavior (based on intrinsic trustworthiness properties). Based on the classic trust framework, the operation and maintaining mechanism of the VC is analyzed, as well as the relationship between the trustworthy qualities of online users and their online behavior, which helps survey scale design, and then the multidimensions of trust’s construct of the VC is successfully isolated. The concept of Multi-Variation In-Trust Web Feature Behavior Performance as the set of multidimensional conditions supporting trust is proposed in the paper, and the relation among four dimensional components (conditions) is verified. Finally, the connection and operation mechanism between the four dimensional conditions (components) of trust and information dissemination in the VC are explored.

Abstract:
In cognitive radio systems, identifying spectrum opportunities is fundamental to efficiently use the spectrum. Spectrum occupancy prediction is a convenient way of revealing opportunities based on previous occupancies. Studies have demonstrated that usage of the spectrum has a high correlation over multidimensions, which includes time, frequency, and space. Accordingly, recent literature uses tensor-based methods to exploit the multidimensional spectrum correlation. However, these methods share two main drawbacks. First, they are computationally complex. Second, they need to re-train the overall model when no information is received from any base station for any reason. Different than the existing works, this paper proposes a method for dividing the multidimensional correlation exploitation problem into a set of smaller sub-problems. This division is achieved through composite two-dimensional (2D)-long short-term memory (LSTM) models. Extensive experimental results reveal a high detection performance with more robustness and less complexity attained by the proposed method. The real-world measurements provided by one of the leading mobile network operators in Turkey validate these results.

Abstract:
Abstract Theories of political constructivism (culturalist), structuralist and rationalist accounts are approaching the collapse of the Soviet Union (SU) from various angles. However, this paper argues that the above-mentioned traditional schools come to complementary conclusions (that are not mutually exclusive) despite their distinct starting points. One only has to put together the puzzle, because no single modern approach can process at once all the intricacy of contemporary global politics and historical events or happenings. For instance, the influence of structural realism has declined nowadays due to its incapability to predict the collapse of the SU However, academics managed to resuscitate this theorem by skilfully melting it with agent-centred designs. Conversely, not even constructivism can estimate long-term historical change, such as the end of the Cold War because adepts of this approach do not think about how interests were created. They suppose that everybody has the same interests but by supposing this, one would totally ignore the topic of inequality. Interests are coined by power and political or economic influence, even if rules and values could change over time through diverse interactions. Political thinkers developed competitive theoretical schools by putting emphasis on diverse causes by clarifying various political, historical, social or cultural issues. Rational choice (rationalist), constructivism or culturalist and structuralist views have their own research tools and suppositions, but interestingly the predominant approach is none of these competing traditional schools, because currently neo-institutionalism seems to overcome all of them. This development is simply astonishing, also because scholars of post-communism mostly applied rationalist methods in their analyses. This is especially true if considering the wide-ranging fields of comparative politics and history (outcomes of comparative analysis). Authors of this paper do not want to construct a hierarchy among these systematic explanations, because (in their opinion) these approaches can function in a complementary way, especially if someone wants to observe and explain socio-historical, political or other problems.

The solutions of convection and diffusion equations are analyzed using Multiresolution Multiwavelet (MRMW) basis functions of multidimension including time. The distribution representing the solution reconstructed in non-standard form of the higher order MRMW reproduces the original solution in the multidimensional space much more efficiently than the lower order one. Smooth movement of the distribution is observed except for the initial area even using the MRMW of zeroth order but the shape of the distribution is not well reproduced for the case. The initial area is better reproduced by the MRMW of higher order and the wavelet component decays much quicker both in low and high levels of resolution.

Abstract:
As large-scale laser 3D point clouds data contains massive and complex data, it faces great challenges in the automatic intelligent processing and classification of large-scale 3D point clouds. Aiming at the problem that 3D point clouds in complex scenes are self-occluded or occluded, which could reduce the object classification accuracy, we propose a multidimension feature optimal combination classification method named MFOC-CliqueNet based on CliqueNet for large-scale laser point clouds. The optimal combination matrix of multidimension features is constructed by extracting the three-dimensional features and multidirectional two-dimension features of 3D point cloud. This is the first time that multidimensional optimal combination features are introduced into cyclic convolutional networks CliqueNet. It is important for large-scale 3D point cloud classification. The experimental results show that the MFOC-CliqueNet framework can realize the latest level with fewer parameters. The experiments on the Large-Scale Scene Point Cloud Oakland dataset show that the classification accuracy of our method is 98.9%, which is better than other classification algorithms mentioned in this paper.

Abstract:
To consider the main questions that changes produced in contemporary societies make to law is a debate that implies assuming what happens with knowledge in general and in the legal realm in particular. The present paper addresses the problem of a complex, postmodern and globalized socio-cultural reality, and presents the need for its approach from a right considered not only in its normative face, but also anthropological, social, cultural and ethical-legal. We propose a set of ideas and some hypotheses, keys and orientations, based on a globalized society, with the insertion of the claim of human rights protected by a universal ethics connected and related to law. We seek to build a multidimensional legal world in a free, fair and democratic society, within a context of postmodern and globalized society, with technological advances that grow in a dizzying manner and impact on man, society and law in different ways, depending on the place and the time in which they occur.

Abstract:
There is a generalized consensus among accounting researchers about the multidimensional nature of earnings quality: Earnings quality depends on a series of characteristics that enhance the usefulness of the earnings figure for decision making. In this paper, we undertake a literature revision on empirical research on earnings quality that reveals that, although earnings quality is probably the most recurrent topic in accounting, empirical research that have treated earnings quality as a multidimensional concept is almost inexistent. In this sense, we document that: (1) Most of the empirical papers on earnings quality deal with just one earnings characteristic, not including the potential effect of the other characteristics related to earnings quality. (2) Some characteristics (particularly, accruals quality and, in a lesser way, conservatism) are widely employed for representing earnings quality, whereas other characteristics (smoothness, persistence) are much less used by researchers. (3) The research on the relationships among the different earnings quality characteristics is scant and with mixed results. (4) Only a few papers develop multidimensional measures of earnings quality, but these measures are based on too restrictive assumptions and there is no evidence of superiority over single-dimension measures. We complement our bibliometric analysis by discussing the limitations of both the single-dimension approach and the multidimensional approaches used to date, illustrating our arguments with a simulation process. Henceforth, this review contributes to prior literature highlighting the main problems in prior literature for earnings quality measurement.

Abstract:
This paper reviewed the literature on ethics, ethical theories, ethical principles; as well as the implications of unethical practices in organizations. The study revealed that unethical business practices have devastating consequences on organizations; since they result in poor corporate image, financial losses; market failures and sometimes complete corporate collapse. It was further observed that corruption, bad leadership, poor corporate governance, conflict of interest, lack of accountability, inadequate CSR, abusive and intimating behaviors among others are common in most organizations. The paper concludes that it is beneficial and in the enlightened self -interest of organizations to adopt good ethical practices. The paper also recommends that managers’ should ensure that ethical standards are crafted in their business philosophy and strategic intents in order to build and maintain a good corporate image.
