Abstract:
A curve on a projective variety is called movable if it belongs to an algebraic family of curves covering the variety. We consider when the cone of movable curves can be characterized without existence statements of covering families by studying the complete intersection cone on a family of blow-ups of complex projective space, including the moduli space of stable six-pointed rational curves and the permutohedral or Losev–Manin moduli space of four-pointed rational curves. Our main result is that the movable and complete intersection cones coincide for the toric members of this family, but differ for the non-toric member, the moduli space of six-pointed rational curves. The proof is via an algorithm that applies in greater generality. We also give an example of a projective toric threefold for which these two cones differ.

AbstractThe Morrison–Kawamata Cone Conjecture predicts that the action of the automorphism group on the effective nef cone and the action of the pseudo-automorphism group on the effective movable cone of a klt Calabi–Yau pair have rational, polyhedral fundamental domains. In [CPS], we proved the conjecture for certain blowups of Fano manifolds of index n - 1. In this paper, we consider the Morrison–Kawamata conjecture for blowups of Fano manifolds of index n - 2.

Abstract:
This paper describes the development of a movable manual electromagnet with an adjustable flux density to improve the inner surface smoothness of a cone pipe using a magnetic abrasive finishing process. This method is fabricated to reduce further the roughness of the internal surface of the conic shape, which was modeled as an electromagnet oscillating in the work zone with a ball roller. Statistically significant improvement in the process was achieved using unbounded magnetic abrasive, light oil, flux density, controlled feed rate, and constant rotational speed in the experiment. The ball transfer equipped on the top of the electromagnet pole plays an essential role in spinning over the outer cone pipe during the experiment and helps reduce friction while the workpiece fluctuates. Furthermore, the flux density can be changed to control the magnetic force and select the most acceptable option. In addition, a procedure for finishing has been designed for finishing a cone pipe, and we sought to understand how the flux density affects the material in removal exterior roughness. As a result, the flux density is clarified, and a higher flux density achieves excellent removal of surface roughness of the inner deformed pipe from 1.68 μm to 0.39 μm within 24 min.

AbstractWe exhibit a pseudoeffective $\mathbb{R}$-divisor ${D}_{\lambda }$ on the blow-up of ${\mathbb{P}}^{3}$ at nine very general points which lies in the closed movable cone and has negative intersections with a set of curves whose union is Zariski dense. It follows that the diminished base locus ${\boldsymbol{B}}_{-}({D}_{\lambda })={\bigcup }_{A\,\text{ample}}\boldsymbol{B}({D}_{\lambda }+A)$ is not closed and that ${D}_{\lambda }$ does not admit a Zariski decomposition in even a very weak sense. By a similar method, we construct an $\mathbb{R}$-divisor on the family of blow-ups of ${\mathbb{P}}^{2}$ at ten distinct points, which is nef on a very general fiber but fails to be nef over countably many prime divisors in the base.

In this article, we prove a finiteness result on the number of log minimal models for 3-folds in $\operatorname{char}p>5$. We then use this result to prove a version of Batyrev’s conjecture on the structure of nef cone of curves on 3-folds in characteristic $p>5$. We also give a proof of the same conjecture in full generality in characteristic 0. We further verify that the duality of movable curves and pseudo-effective divisors hold in arbitrary characteristic. We then give a criterion for the pseudo-effectiveness of the canonical divisor $K_{X}$ of a smooth projective variety in arbitrary characteristic in terms of the existence of a family of rational curves on $X$.

Lam, To Trang. "L’acquisition de la propriété par accession des biens en droit vietnamien : comparaison avec la France." Thesis, Bordeaux 4, 2012. http://www.theses.fr/2012BOR40041/document.

Full text
Abstract:
The property is respected as a sacred and an inviolable right in France from 1789 according to article 17 of the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen. However, due to the colonization, the Vietnamese civil legislation before 1980 didn’t achieved outstanding results, especially in the property. Currently, after the Napoleonic Code of 1804 in France or the Civil Code of 1995 in Vietnam, the properties and ownership right play an important role in both two legal systems. The French Civil Code states that accession is an original mode of acquisition, together with derived modes of acquisition, of the ownership right of properties. By various provisions related to the property in the Civil Code of 2005, the Vietnamese law tacitly recognizes that accession is a way to acquire the ownership right. The provisions in the civil law of Vietnam on accession of properties, however, are not sufficient and systematic

Full text
Abstract:
The real security interests law/secured transactions has gone through crucial changes following a series of several reforms which has affected it. If the subject matter has undoubtedly been modernized, it is obvious that the real security interests law/secured transactions is still lacking of general consistency which is linked simultaneously to the large numbers of proposal on security interests and to the insufficiency of federative rules which come to govern the whole. Actually, the problem poses the question to know if it is possible and conceivable to put forward a base of more sophisticated general rules, or even a general law, and according to what methods? The interrogation underlines the efficacy of ohada real securities law in regard to the inadequacy between the objectives of the African legislator and the means used by him to achieve them. In other words, it is admitted to question on the way of a reinforcement of the actual real securities law in sight of a greatest efficacy. In regard to the international experiences, the answer of these questioning is found, in our opinion, in a reform more ambitious of the ohada real securities law which is going to lead to the adoption of a functional approach as it was observed in States with the same juridical culture of ours. In concrete terms, it is important to give back, through this functional conception of securities interest, coherence, and simplicity, in sum, efficacy to ohada real securities law likewise to bring it closer to the population and to the socio-economic realities of ohada member States while revealing the international economic stakes

Abstract:
This paper investigates innovations of the early modern European textile industry and practices of cultural transfer using seventeenth-century Venetian Crete as a case study. It explores the use of novelties, such as mixed cloths, in the dowries assigned to brides in the urban setting of Candia (modern Heraklion) and the surrounding countryside during the period 1600-1645. It draws on computer-processed data from marriage agreements and inventories of movables from the State Archives of Venice. It illustrates, through a comparative lens, how brides used (silk) mixed fabrics to differentiate themselves from others and how Venetian Crete followed the changes in production techniques of the European textile industry.

Abstract:
The current copyright regulations do not refer to the problem of the judicial enforcement of the so-called corpora mechanica, i.e. objects in which a work has been preserved and which are used to multiply the work, such as a matrix or a negative. In particular, Article 18 of the Copyright Law, which introduces significant limitations on execution against economic rights, does not exclude execution against these objects. However, the lack of regulations does not mean that the issue does not raise any concerns and may be completely detached from copyright issues. The aim of the article is to analyse the relation between the provisions of the Copyright Law and the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure regarding execution against movable property, with particular emphasis on the following issues: • execution against so-called corpora mechanica and the right to decide on the first release to the public; • execution against copies of the work and the exhaustion of the law; • execution against the original work of art and the entitlement to the droit de suite.

Abstract:
Machines such as counters, computers, and Colossus process information. Items of information are given a physical identity which can be recognised and transmitted over distance. The identity is transmitted by what is called a signal and the relationship between the signals and the information they represent is called a code (as distinct from a cipher). Certain types of numbers are commonly used to identify items of information, because they are universally known and endless in quantity: the information, processors, and processing are then said to be digital. Processing consists of logical operations carried out serially on the numbers until a conclusion has been reached, expressed in numbers which can be converted to information by the code. Automatic number processors may be wholly or in part mechanical, electromechanical, or electronic. For the present purpose, electromechanical operation is the easiest to describe and to understand and so will be used as the starting point of this exposition. Electromechanical processors comprise electrical circuits consisting of switches interconnected by wire conductors. A switch is a device which can be set into one of two states, the unoperated or OFF state and the operated or ON state. The earliest switches used movable metal elements called contacts which could be pressed together to connect, or separated to disconnect, two wires that were attached to the contacts. Some metal contact switches used electric motors to operate them. All switches are stable in their OFF states. In their ON states, they may be stable only so long as the operating force is maintained. When this force is removed, they may remain in the ON state or revert to the OFF state. An electric light switch is an example of a manually operated switch which is stable in both the OFF and the ON states. A bell ‘push-button to ring’ switch reverts to the OFF state when the operating force is removed. Electromechanical (i.e. electromagnetically operated) switches usually take the form of relays, each of which consists of a U-shaped iron structure, as shown in Figure 1, around part of which a coil of wire has been wound. A hinged iron armature bridges the open end of the U.

Abstract:
This essay examines most of the imagological reflections on the Mediterranean and the Balkans (as a sub-region of the Mediterranean), with the thesis that the Mediter-ranean cultural identity can be defined as a regional, transnational, and intercultural identity, and even as an active cultural intertext. Although the Mediterranean is a synonym for mixed races, religions, ethnicities, nations, and languages, it has its own-shared memories, its ‘locus communi’, and they are the foundation of the re-gional Mediterranean identity. Since spiritual, immaterial and movable culture does not know of state, ethnic, racial, or religious borders, it is shared by most Mediter-ranean peoples in the form of collective memory, mythical memory, folk traditions, folk culture, or folklore. The author concludes that Mediterranean cultural inheritance has the character of an intercultural inheritance with dialogical, cross-cultural, and trans-cultural dimen-sion, and calls for a new, sustainable interpretative turn in the sphere of the Medi-terranean cultural hermeneutics, concerning the inherited cultural history and new cultural reality (linguistic, ethnic, and religious). The author sees an urgent need to actualize certain aspects of the inherited and the contemporary Mediterranean cul-tural identity, and to introduce a new, trans-national mapping of cultural identities/existences, since the actual cultural process transcend the traditional ethnic and state borders. The national Academies of Sciences and Arts of the Mediterranean could sign a Mediterranean Charter for Shared Cultural Heritage (a UNESCO project) and could design an actual map of the contemporary Mediterranean cultural existences, migrations, acculturations, and social integrations. The scientific dialogues or con-sensuses may introduce better-shared cultural policies and interpretative paradigms. This would be of a strategic interest, particularly for the development of the Balkans in the Mediterranean and the European context.

Full text
Abstract:
The behavior of suction piles that are installed by suction into soft Speswhite clay was investigated by model tests in a large geotechnical centrifuge. Many different placement and loading tests were carried out in similar soils, thereby providing a reliable method for evaluating the effects of selected parameters on pile response. Techniques and equipment were developed to prepare normally consolidated clay samples with a high degree of repetitiveness and to measure their characteristics in-flight (e.g., on-board movable Cone Penetrometer device – abbreviated CPT in this paper) in order to simulate deepwater offshore soil conditions. The CPT tests performed in-flight indicate that these objectives were achieved with the soil samples tested. Special devices were developed for this program to apply well-controlled vertical and inclined monotonic and cyclic loads. A well-controlled system was necessary to investigate sustained and cyclic loads for simulating environmental loading conditions on anchor pile moorings for floating production and drilling facilities, or on other facilities used in the storage and off-loading of oil and gas. In the test program, the capacity measured during monotonic loading served as a reference value for establishing a scale factor to be used in applying cyclic and sustained loading. A monotonic load test was always carried out before and after each cyclic or sustained load test in order to quantify any change in capacity due to a given loading event. Issues addressed in the program and discussed in this paper include the effect of suction installation methodologies on pile capacity, and the behavior of piles during inclined monotonic loading and cyclic loading due to simulated Gulf of Mexico hurricane events. Other issues were addressed in the program (e.g., simulated loop current events, effect of a sand layer on suction pile penetration) but are not included in this paper due to space limitations. A number of tests were performed for each loading condition and the data are judged to be robust because of the consistency of the results within the same tub when applying multiple loading sequences, and between tubs when applying a similar test protocol. The experimental data from the test program will be used to update ExxonMobil suction pile design practice, and to validate in-house and contractor numerical models.

Abstract:
A movable instantaneous impact pressure test device is designed and achieved, according to the characteristic of instantaneous impact wave such as acutely variation and large range of pressure, adverse conditions on the spot. A piezoresistive transducer of high-frequency an high pressure is selected and used. MEMS technology is adopted to design and manufacture the sensor that is flush packaged. In addition multi-channel analogue amplified circuit and DSP control core circuit are studied. So the multilevel multiple pressure analogue signals can be achieved. The circuit can take charge of high speed sampling, processing and storing of analogue signal too. Software modifying mode, process parameter and data transmission is also developed. The device has the function of scheduling of timing sample, automatic gain of magnification, automatic detection of the beginning of impact pressure, parameterization of working mode and process etc. It is a practical instrument with battery as power supply, the low power consumption of power supply control mode and the solid mental shell for testing explosion shock wave. Pressure test results indicated accurate pressure waves of instantaneous impact can be got with the instrument.

Abstract:
Recent developments extending the capabilities of the SIMMER-III [1, 2] code for the dealing with transient and accidents in Molten Salt Reactors (MSRs) are presented. These extensions refer to the movable precursor modeling within the space-time dependent neutronics framework of SIMMER-III, to the molten salt flow modeling, and to new equations of state for various salts. An important new SIMMER-III feature is that the space-time distribution of the various precursor families with different decay constants can be computed and took into account in neutron/reactivity balance calculations and, if necessary, visualized. The system is coded and tested for a molten salt transmutater. This new feature is also of interest in core disruptive accidents of fast reactors when the core melts and the molten fuel is redistributed.

Abstract:
Over the past few years several advanced concepts have gained wider acceptance from owners of large racing yachts and organizers of major international events. Two of these concepts, water ballast and canting keels, were evaluated during the design of the maxZ86 yachts Pyewacket and Morning Glory. This paper presents the key design features of these large movable ballast racing yachts and compares their performance to conventional racing yachts of similar size. Comparisons include results of physical model tests, CFD analysis using a panel code, velocity prediction program modeling, and sailing data from the existing boats. These results are accompanied by physical explanations of the differences, and the special testing and analysis requirements for the movable-ballast configurations are detailed. Finally, some of the design issues unique to the movable-ballast concepts and design trade-offs are discussed.

Abstract:
A conceptual design for a 50MWe sodium cooled, U-Pu-Zr metallic fuelled, fast reactor core, which aims at a core lifetime of 30 years, has been performed [1]. As for the compensation for a large burn-up reactivity through 30 years, an axially movable reflector, which is located around the core, carries the major part of it and a burnable poison does the rest. This concept has achieved not only a long core lifetime but also a high discharged burn-up. On this study, a conceptual design for a small fast reactor loading U-Zr metallic fuelled core instead of U-Pu-Zr fuelled core has been conducted, based on the original core arrangement of 4S reactor [2]. Within the range of this study including safety requirements, adopting the burnable poison would be effective to construct a core concept that achieves both a long lifetime and a high discharged burn-up.

Abstract:
Development of rudder gap flow blocking device for lift augmentation and cavitation suppression is presented. In order to verify the performance of this device, cavitation visualization and surface pressure measurements were carried out in a cavitation tunnel. Numerical simulations were conducted using a computational fluid dynamics code for more rigorous verification. The new rudder system is equipped with cam devices, which effectively close the gap between the horn/pintle and movable wing parts. The experimental and computational results show that the proposed rudder system is superior to the conventional rudder systems in terms of the lift augmentation and cavitation suppression.

Abstract:
We have developed a hybrid numerical simulation code to investigate the dynamics of nanobubbles. The idea is based on a combination of a molecular dynamics (MD) technique for the region containing a bubble and surrounding area, and the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) for the region well away from the bubble. The boundary between the two regions is movable and driven by their pressure difference. As a test of the developed code, we have performed a simulation of a collapsing nanobubble. After equilibrating the system, we introduce a uniaxial pressure wave in the continuum region far from the bubble. The pressure wave propagates through the LBM region, and the pressure difference deforms the MD-LBM boundary. As the MD region deforms, the bubble inside the region starts to collapse non-spherically. We have analyzed the bubble collapse dynamics with several different pressure waves. Vapor bubbles and bubbles containing noncondensable particles are compared.

Abstract:
An efficient grid depression reconstruction model on axial assembly power distribution was developed for MHI nuclear design code system GalaxyCosmo-S. The objective of this paper is to present the background, methodology and its application of the new model in GalaxyCosmo-S. In order to consider the grid depression effect to the homogeneous axial power distribution obtained from 3D nodal core calculation, the new model employs the concept of the pin-power reconstruction model widely used in modern core design codes. In the new model, axial heterogeneous assembly power distribution is calculated by synthesizing the grid form function to the axial homogeneous power distribution by nodal calculation. The form function is pre-produced by fitting the local grid depression data processed from the measured axial thimble reaction rate in the grid position. By incorporating the measured data, the form function can reflect the precise grid depression information. According to the present study, it was shown that the form function has a burnup dependency for its depth, and it is prepared for each fuel type and axial grid position. In order to confirm the applicability of the present method to the existing PWRs, the predicted axial power distribution by GalaxyCosmo-S was compared with the measured data by the movable detector (M/D). As a result, the good agreements were confirmed without any specific trends for burnup condition. In addition, the difference of axial power distribution between predicted and measured data was statistically analyzed for multiple plants, cycles and burnup conditions. From the results, it is confirmed that the systematic over- or under-estimations of the power distribution observed in the grid homogenized model are reduced by the grid depression model. So this model is suitable for the 3D power distribution analysis and FQ uncertainty evaluation.
