Abstract:
Inkjet printer motor control consists of moving the printhead in the scan direction and in the process direction. Both movements have different objectives. Scan direction movement needs to have constant velocity and process direction movement needs to have accurate movement. In this paper, we discuss a method for controlling the velocity of the printhead and how to tune the motor control parameters. We also design six test pages for testing accuracy of the printhead movement and cartridge properties. For each test page, we discuss expected prints, common printer control problems that could alter the print quality, and how to identify them.

Abstract:
In terms of the development of 3D printers we can say that in the first stage of evolution the huge majority of them were able to print 3D using 3 axis numerically controlled. Currently there are several types of printers that can print in 4 and 5-axis developed using classical solutions (portal or parallel structure). Another direction of development is the combination of 3D printers and traditional manufacturing equipment, with an already existing commercial solution (Hermle MPA 40) that combines milling and MPA technology (Metal Powder-Application). This paper presents a hybrid equipment that can be placed in the specific additive manufacturing category, combining milling operations (4 axis) and turning with 3D printing using FDM technology. The machine uses stepper motors for driving kinematic axes, a DC motor (16 000 rev / min) to drive the main shaft of the mill and a three-phase motor for turning. The software used for milling and turning is Mach3, while MatterControl is used for 3D printing.

Abstract:
Fine motor skills are very important to develop for early childhood. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of stencil print media with natural materials on the fine motor skills of children in group B TK Tunas Bangsa Jombang. Learning to develop children's fine motor skills needs to pay attention to the learning media used. The reason for using stencil print media with natural materials is because the teachers rarely use natural materials around the school environment to stimulate children's fine motor skills. This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design, with a sample of 14 children in group B TK Tunas Bangsa Jombang. The data collection tool is a non-test instrument. The results showed that the Asymp (2-tailed) value was 0.001 <0.05 which indicated that there were differences in pretest and posttest scores obtained by children or it could be said that stencil printing activities using natural materials could significantly influence the fine motor skills of group B children in Kindergarten Tunas Bangsa Jombang

Abstract:
We present a compressed air motor, completely built by laser powder bed fusion. To highlight the fully functional integration by additive manufacturing, the rotor, stator, bearings, turbine, gas inlet and outlet were all built in a single print job. The material used was Inconel 718, and the motor was 44 mm tall and 12 mm in diameter. With the rotation axis of the motor in print in the direction of the laser powder bed fusion process, no build supports are needed, and thus the rotor and stator are fully moveable against each other. Plain bearings were used to position the rotor inseparably inside the stator, with a bearing gap of 0.2 mm, resulting in stable rotation. The idle rotation speed of the motor was measured with a digital laser measuring device as a function of air pressure and inlet size. With linear behavior between the rotation speed and gas pressure of up to 5.5 bar, the motor can be easily controlled. With varying gas inlet sizes, the idle rotation speed of the compressed air motor is also varied. A maximum rotation speed of 90,000 rpm was achieved at 1.5 mm gas inlet size and 3 bar gas pressure.

Abstract:
The development of technology today has emerged the latest technology in three-dimensional (3D) printer machines. Problems faced by 3D printers include the position of the printer bed that is not horizontal. The position of the printer bed that is not horizontal will cause the 3D print to be skewed. To overcome the problem of tilting the bed of a 3D printer, the auto-level system is needed, which is a system that can correct the position of the base so that it becomes horizontal. In this study, an auto-leveling system was designed and made for four 3D printing base support positions. The drive for the printing press uses a stepper motor with a worm gear transmission. The controller uses an Arduino board and tested various position sensors to determine the slope of the base. The sensor tested is a 3D touch probe sensor. From the test results, the 3D touch probe sensor has a height value difference of not more than 0.05mm from each measurement position. The print base slope reference point is at the center point of the print base. The position of the other corner of the base will be adjusted in height with a stepper motor drive.

Abstract:
The recent development of RepRap style 3D printers has made additive manufacturing technology available to the public at a low cost. While these 3D printers are being used for a variety of purposes, one of the main applications is prototyping in design projects. The quality of the 3D-printed parts has been a concern in such cases. Many variables within these printers’ operation can be varied to obtain optimum print quality. This study explores a setup that uses externally induced mechanical vibrations to the nozzle tip as a potential method to improve the quality of 3D-printed parts. Induced vibration is expected to decrease the porosity of printed parts and enhance the cohesion between print beads, ultimately improving their mechanical properties. The objective is to understand the prints’ positional accuracy, porosity, and mechanical properties with the added vibration and then to determine the optimum vibration level to achieve the best quality prints. While previous studies have explored the role of induced vibration on the mechanical properties of printed parts, the novelty of this work lies in the determination of the positional accuracy of those parts and the determination of optimum vibration levels to achieve desired properties. For positional accuracy, the extruder filament is replaced with a pointed-tip pen that can mark the exact location where the printer delivers the material. A comparison between the locations marked by the pen with and without vibrations shows that the errors induced by the added vibration are not significantly different from those caused by the uncertainties of the printer itself. Based on the tensile tests of the printed specimens, it is concluded that the parts printed with induced vibrations have improved mechanical properties. The printed parts’ porosity is reduced significantly due to the induced vibrations. Further, this study also explores the optimum motor speeds to achieve a uniform distribution of material. It determines medium motor speeds that provide a maximum vibration amplitude, which is more desirable for a consistent infill.

Abstract:
Additive manufacturing technology as evolved with wide range applications in several fields. Syringe based extrusion is technique of the additive manufacturing technology in which is mainly used for bioprinting, paste extrusions e.t.c. A syringe is used for the extrusion of material or printable inks; the material to be printed is placed in the syringe. The syringe plunger helps the material to extrude out of the syringe with certain diameter. Syringe plunger is moved forward through a gear set up to the stepper motor. Designing and development of the syringe extruder components is done in affordable ways and tested with several printable parameters. The application of these techniques is mainly in medical field (bioprinting) for fabrication of bone tissues, cell tissues. A good quality print is obtained using the parameters (print speed, travel speed, flow rate) and also calculated value of extrusion multiplier. The print quality can further improve using the bionks with good viscosity and some design changes of the setup and also by accurate leveling of print bed and better calibration of the printer after installing the syringe setup on the normal printer setup.

Abstract:
Pellet machine is a machine used to print feed in the form of pellets. In this machine, if it operates, it can experience excessive vibration and the force acting on the machine is close to its natural frequency and can cause damage, so it needs to be reduced. In this study, the objective of this research is to model and simulate vibrations in the gearbox and grinder to determine the results of the displacement and acceleration vibration responses on the pellet machine. In this study, an electric motor is used as a source of rotation and an input clutch as a connection between the shaft of the electric motor and the gearbox as a transmission to reduce the speed of the electric motor, where the rotation produced by the electric motor contains vibrations, the output coupling is the connecting shaft between the gearbox shaft and the shaft grinder and miller as a tool used to print pellets. From the existing physical form, mathematical equations and simulation blocks are constructed. In this research, it is found that the vibration response generated from the gearbox and grinder can be modeled with the x and z axes as the center of the system. The higher the vibration response, the higher the given frequency, the greater the amplitude and rms of the displacement and acceleration responses in each part, namely the motor, clutch in, gearbox gearbox, coupling out, and grinder will be greater. The result of displacement vibration response yields an rms of 1.956. The worm gear in the gearbox produces a displacement vibration of 1.0585 m and an acceleration of 6.8485 m/s2. The mill produces a displacement vibration of 1.0891 m and an acceleration of 5.1095 m/s2.

Abstract:
Background: The literature on the effects of teacher coaching in early childhood (EC) education programs is underdeveloped but emerging. Using the theory of action in professional development as our theoretical framework, we hypothesize that active coaching improves teaching methods and creates a more effective classroom environment for enhancing children’s learning and skills. Objectives: This study evaluates the effects of the Mississippi Building Blocks (MBB) program, an EC intervention with a strong emphasis on supervisor and coaching training. Research design: We conduct a randomized controlled experiment in which data were collected at baseline, midpoint (Month 3), and postintervention (Month 6) in 24 preschool classrooms in Mississippi. Subjects: The experiment included 195 preschoolers, of which 95 were in classrooms led by teachers who received coaching (treatment) and 100 were in classrooms without coaching (control). Measures: We measured child’s emergent language and literacy, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, print language skills, problem-solving, math skills, and socioemotional development. Results: We find that MBB coaching led to substantial improvements in child outcomes relative to the control group, particularly in gross motor skills, print language skills, and socioemotional development. We also find some evidence that MBB coaching improved math skills, though these estimates are on the margin of statistical significance. Finally, a mediator analysis indicates that improvements in the classroom learning environment brought about by MBB coaching improved child outcomes. Conclusions: Our findings suggest that an intensive form of classroom coaching for teachers leads to significant gains in child outcomes.

Sensory roles in reading skills: The print-to-speech model While it is easy to recognise the necessary role that vision plays in reading, it is important to know that many other senses contribute to the acquisition, refinement and maintenance of reading skills including sound, touch and motor coordination, to name just a few. Oral language is ubiquitous across cultures throughout human history. However, this is not the case for written language, which is, in an evolutionary sense, relatively new. As such, the human brain does not have a dedicated “reading system” and relies instead upon established neural networks and circuitry to build and refine the skills required for reading and writing (see (1) for a discussion of the neuronal recycling hypothesis for arithmetic and reading).

Terahertz metamaterials are some of the core components of the new generation of high-frequency optoelectronic devices, which have excellent properties that natural materials do not have. The unit structures are generally much smaller than the wavelength, so preparation is mainly based on semiconductor processes, such as coating, photolithography and etching. Although the processing resolution is high, it is also limited by complex processing, long cycles, and high cost. In this paper, a design method for dual-band terahertz metamaterials and a simple, rapid, low-cost metamaterial preparation scheme based on step-motor-driven electrohydrodynamic jet technology are proposed. By transforming an open-source 3D printer, the metamaterial structures can be directly printed without complex semiconductor processes. To verify effectiveness, the sample was directly printed using nano conductive silver paste as consumable material. Then, a fiber-based multi-mode terahertz time-domain spectroscopy system was built for testing. The experimental results were in good agreement with the theoretical simulation.

Abstract:
The purpose of the study was to explore perceptual-motor differences between blind and sighted adults from a neuropsychological perspective, and to analyze the differences within the blind group. Perceptual-motor abilities were examined using Comprehensive Vocational Evaluation System (CVES), a vocational rehabilitation and neuropsychological battery designed for use with blind populations. The data were processed using Analysis of Covariance. Results showed that the sighted persons had better motor abilities, while persons with blindness were more skilled at haptic identification of shape and texture. Analysis within the blind group showed that texture identification skills are better when blindness occurs earlier in life and to the extent that blindness is total. Later onset blindness and the retention of some functional vision may not lead to a refocusing of attentional states necessary to develop haptic images. One implication of the findings is that teaching individuals who retain some functional vision to read Braille is probably counterproductive. These individuals would be better served by learning to use CCTV and large print books.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the factors governing bond strength in fused deposition modeling (FDM) compared to strength in the fiber direction. Design/methodology/approach Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) boxes with the thickness of a single fiber were made at different platform and nozzle temperatures, print speeds, fiber widths and layer heights to produce multiple specimens for measuring the strength. Findings Specimens produced with the fibers oriented in the tensile direction had 95 per cent of the strength of the constitutive filament. Bond strengths ranged from 40 to 85 per cent of the filament strength dependent on the FDM processing conditions. Diffusion, wetting and intimate contact all separately affect bond strength. Practical implications This study provides processing recommendations for producing the strongest FDM parts. The needs for higher nozzle temperatures and more robust feed motors are described; these recommendations can be useful for companies producing FDM products as well as companies designing FDM printers. Originality/value This is the first study that discusses wetting and intimate contact separately in FDM, and the results suggest that a fundamental, non-empirical model for predicting FDM bond strength can be developed based on healing models. Additionally, the role of equilibration time at the start of extrusion as well as a motor torque limitation while trying to print at high speeds are described.

Abstract:
Electrical machines play a major role in achieving a more sustainable economy by driving the further electrification of industry and transportation. To enhance the electric motor productivity during production and the efficiency during operation, it is essential to maximize the material yield rate during the production of stator and rotor sheet stacks and reduce iron losses during operation. Screen-printing technology can help to achieve these goals by producing thin magnetic sheet laminations in near-net-shape geometry, resulting in minimum material waste during production. Moreover, reducing the sheet thickness decreases the eddy current losses and avoids mechanical stress during manufacturing, leading to improved motor efficiency. Additionally, screen printing facilitates the production of multi-material components and variable alloy compositions. This study aims to identify the relevant factors and printing parameters so that screen-printed magnetic sheets can achieve product specifications. A method involving the statistical design of experiments is performed in several iterations to investigate the target parameters of the print cycle time, green part weight, shape integrity and layer thickness, and to analyze the main interdependencies. The results of this study provide valuable insights into optimizing the screen-printing process for soft magnetic sheets, enabling the production of efficient electric motors while reducing material scrap.

Abstract:
Food and beverage producers are required to put an expiration date on each production package in accordance with SNI. So far, small-scale entrepreneurs have affixed the expiration date by attaching stickers, installing the expiration mark in this way requires a relatively long time, so that the product ready for distribution is hampered in its distribution. To overcome this, we need a machine that can help small entrepreneurs to reduce the time in affirming the expiration date. This tool can print the expiration date automatically by the hot stamping method. This tool uses an AC motor to drive the rewinder and a DC motor to run the stamping head. Changing the date of printing is also easy, just use an L key to release and install characters. This tool is controlled by a microcontroller as a regulator of input, output, and printing distance settings with a choice of 10 modes. The conclusion that can be drawn from the design of an expiry date printing tool on a plastic pack with the hot stamping method is that the expiry date printing device on this plastic package can print an expiration date on plastic with a stamping head distance of 2.6 cm and the printing distance is determined by the input mode of the user assisted by eye-mark sensors in accordance with the plastic layout design. Starting from an average distance of 1.22 cm for Mode 1, up to 9.26 cm for Mode 10. Based on these conclusions, this tool has been tested to print well in a choice of 10 modes automatically.ABSTRAK:Produsen makanan dan minuman diwajibkan mencantumkan tanggal kadaluarsa pada setiap kemasan produksinya sesuai dengan SNI.

However, research conducted to date shows that the media do not devote as much space to them as would accordingly be expected. This article proposes, through a case study, a new way of approaching this hypothetical discrimination by comparing the attention that the London Paralympic Games received from the Spanish print press with the attention that other sports received (football, basketball, tennis, cycling, motor sports and other minority sports) while those Games were being held. The main finding of our study is that over the period analysed, the Spanish press devoted less space to the Paralympic Games than to any other sport.

Abstract:
Passenger motor vehicle transport is a significant and growing emissions source contributing to climate change. Switching from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles (EV) would significantly reduce most countries’ emissions, but for many consumers perceived barriers deter EV adoption. Consequently, government policies designed to incentivise a transition to EVs could benefit from consideration of the utility of communication channels such as print media for influencing consumer behaviour. This research explores the role that media and other communication channels writing about EVs play in consumer perceptions and awareness of government-initiated programs and policies to incentivise EV market transition. Using mixed methods of a media review and New Zealand car buyer surveys (questionnaires, interviews) (n = 893), we identified car buyers’ media use to update knowledge about cars, perceptions about EVs, and likelihood to buy, and tested awareness and popularity of incentives. We derive recommendations for policy improvements to accelerate EV uptake, including a significant role for the print media to disseminate relevant information, increase awareness of policies, and shift perceptions about EVs. We argue that social marketing programs should be enhanced to overcome lack of knowledge and misinformation, focusing on the market segment next most likely to buy EVs.

Abstract:
Kata Kunci: Cheiloscopy, Down syndrome, Pola sidik bibir ABSTRACT An excess of chromosomal number 21 (Trisomy) causes the autosomal genetic disease known as down syndrome. One of the characteristics of people with down syndrome is that their lips have a gap and are rather thick, and their mouths are always open. This study's objective was to examine the characteristics of down syndrome students' lip print patterns. The study was carried out at multiple schools in Bengkulu City between December 2021 and February 2022 using interviews and direct data collecting on Down syndrome pupils with inclusion requirements. The classification of Suzuki and Tsuchihashi is used to identify lip print patterns. The Chi-square test was used to examine the data in SPSS version 22. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test in the SPSS version 22. The findings indicated that students with Down syndrome had type I and type II lip print patterns, with type I predominating. Male students had a type I lip print pattern prevalence of 66.7%, compared to 57.1% for female students. 33.3% of male students have type II lip print patterns, compared to 42.9% of female students. According to the Chi-square analysis, there is no correlation between lip print patterns, the ratio of lip thickness to lip length, and speaking, walking, pen grasping, and writing abilities in down syndrome from various schools in Bengkulu city. Since the dominating lip print pattern of types I and II observed in down syndrome students is also frequently shown in non-down syndrome individuals, this pattern cannot be used to predict specific motor skills in down syndrome students. Abstract:
The goal of this project was to enable an automated solution for the application of bonding agents to metallic bodies in the nanoliter range. For the automated application of adhesion promoters, a new control unit based on a mainboard for controlling 3D printers was used, with Marlin serving as the firmware. Adaptations were necessary in the area of motor currents, speeds, acceleration, sensitivity, print bed size and selection of mainboard and display. For the traverse paths, G-code was generated using a program in Python. For homogeneous and uniform wetting, the individual objects to be wetted are approached and the pipetting process is controlled. It was possible to establish the complete functionality.

Abstract:
Although gait changes are considered as reliable indices of stroke severity and efficacy of rehabilitative therapies in humans, data from animal models of focal ischemia are lacking. To determine the effect of stroke on gait function in adult rats with distal middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO), we assessed the longitudinal changes in gait using an automated computer-assisted gait analysis system. Four days after MCAO, intensity, maximal area of contact, and paw angle were significantly decreased in the affected forepaw whereas the double support time using ipsilateral paws increased. Relative print positions between the fore and hindpaws and limb coupling were also altered, suggesting that stroke affected sensorimotor status and reduced limb coordination. Except for paw angle, these impairments persisted for at least 5 weeks. However, unlike human stroke patients, stride length and stance were not affected in rats with MCAO. Environmental enrichment for 4 weeks improved paw contact area and relative print position of the affected limb and reduced double support time in ischemic rats compared with controls. Our results indicate that gait analysis provides great insight into various aspects of motor function changes in ischemic quadrupeds, and that environmental enrichment is beneficial in reducing a variety of poststroke gait impairments possibly through enhanced structural plasticity mechanisms within injured cortical neuronal networks underlying locomotor function.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to systematically and critically review the literature related to process design and modeling of fused deposition modeling (FDM) and similar extrusion-based additive manufacturing (AM) or rapid prototyping processes. Design/methodology/approach – A systematic review of the literature focusing on process design and mathematical process modeling was carried out. Findings – FDM and similar processes are among the most widely used rapid prototyping processes with growing application in finished part manufacturing. Key elements of the typical processes, including the material feed mechanism, liquefier and print nozzle; the build surface and environment; and approaches to part finishing are described. Approaches to estimating the motor torque and power required to achieve a desired filament feed rate are presented. Models of required heat flux, shear on the melt and pressure drop in the liquefier are reviewed. On leaving the print nozzle, die swelling and bead cooling are considered. Approaches to modeling the spread of a deposited road of material and the bonding of polymer roads to one another are also reviewed. Originality/value – To date, no other systematic review of process design and modeling research related to melt extrusion AM has been published. Understanding and improving process models will be key to improving system process controls, as well as enabling the development of advanced engineering material feedstocks for FDM processes.

Abstract:
The functional interdependence of word, image, narration, and reason is recognized as a fundamental condition of modern-day persuasion, yet a substantial gap still exists in our understanding of how static textual elements interact to generate dynamic, persuasive narratives. This article attempts to narrow that gap in understanding through the development of a simulation semantics approach to rhetorical analysis as applied to print advertisements in medical journals. Located within the broader field of cognitive linguistics, simulation semantics is a theory of linguistic meaning based on the hypothesis that language users run mental simulations of perceptual and motor content of experiences which distribute inferences from these simulations during language comprehension and production. Using the perspectives and methods of conceptual blending, a programmatic model of meaning construction developed by Fauconnier and Turner (2002) and elaborated by many associates (e.g. Brandt and Brandt, 2002; Coulson and Oakley, 2000), the article attempts to show how a simulation semantic approach can lead to cognitively plausible explanations of how persuasion works in a genre of print advertisements aimed at physicians and medical practitioners I call learning-for-doing. In addition, I seek to further refine conceptual blending theory as an interpretive framework by arguing for the need to incorporate the notion of a grounding space as well as the need to distinguish between conceptual blending and conceptual integration.

Abstract:
IntroductionData supports that motor skills are an underlying mechanism that influence physical activity along with perceived motor and physical competence, but the relationship between motor skills and physical activity during the early years is unclear. The goal of this study, Promoting Activity and Trajectories of Health (PATH) for Children, is to examine and compare the immediate (pre-test to post-test) and sustained (3-year follow-up) effect of an intervention on motor performance, physical activity and perceived physical competence to a control condition (ie, standard practice) in preschool-age children. Methods and analysisThe PATH study is a two-cohort, randomised cluster clinical trial. 300 children between the ages of >3.5 to 5 years of age will be randomised to the motor skill intervention (n=153) or control (n=147) condition. Each assessment involves a measure of motor skill performance; product and process, seven consecutive days of physical activity monitoring and perceived physical competence. These measures will be assessed before and after the intervention (pre-test to post-test) and then each academic year across 3 years, grades kindergarten, first grade and second grade (3-year follow-up). To assess the clustered longitudinal effect of the intervention on outcome measures, random-effects models (eg, mixed model regression, growth curve modelling and structural equation modelling) will be used. The PATH study addresses gaps in paediatric exercise science research. Findings hold the potential to help shape public health and educational policies and interventions that support healthy development and active living during the early years.Ethics and disseminationEthical approval for this study was obtained through the Health Sciences and Behavioral Sciences Institutional Review Board, University of Michigan (HUM00133319). The PATH study is funded by the National Institutes of Health. Findings will be disseminated via print, online media, dissemination events and practitioner and/or research journals.Trial registration numberNHLBI ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier, NCT03189862.
