Abstract:
The article is devoted to the use of cinema as a psychotherapeutic tool in the correction of mental and emotional states of students and youth. Its main purpose is to demonstrate the value and suitability of using motion pictures in the therapeutic process. The means of influence that a film can have on the viewer were analyzed. An attempt is made to analyze the concept of “film therapy” and the list of its components is clarified, the theoretical foundations of the method are analyzed, the main approaches are selected, the most expressive trends of modern psychological practice of using films are described. The article provides a general overview of the available research results on the use of films in therapeutic practice, using publications by Russian and foreign authors. A conceptual and definitional analysis of this phenomenon is carried out, and the most popular views on it are presented. The psychological mechanisms of the impact of films on the viewer, such as catharsis, identification with the hero, are considered. The main stages of the film therapy process are highlighted. It is shown that psychological work using works of cinematography can help young people cope with life difficulties, develop new positive personal qualities, increase tolerance, empathy and offer new ways of understanding specific problems, as well as be useful in learning. The tools of film therapy work are quite wide and can be used in various situations. The most undeveloped and controversial aspects of psychological work with the help of cinema are highlighted, such as the lack of standardized and sufficiently tested materials for work, which requires further research. By analyzing the available materials, it was found that films are an increasingly popular and effective method of therapy for psychoemotional conditions in Russia and the world. The results of the research conducted to date indicate that the use of film images in psychological practice, as well as at training events, gives positive psychotherapeutic effects.

Abstract:
This study aims to explain the emotional representation of the Joker as a victim of violence in the 2019 Joker film based on Ferdinand De Saussure's theory. Joker is a psychological thriller genre film. The film opens with Arthur Fleck trying out various expressions. With a clown-style make-up, Arthur pulled his face in a motion pulling the corners of his lips up to create a smiling facial expression. Arthur then lowered the corners of his lips down to make a sad expression with his lips down, and then pulled his lips back into a smile. A few tears flowed between her black eye makeup. The research method used in this paper is descriptive qualitative. This means that the data used in this study is qualitative data (data that does not consist of numbers) in the form of words and pictures that may be the key to what is being studied. Then the existing data are described from a number of aspects of signs or semiotics in a number of scenes. For example, from the emotional side that appears in a scene, the facial expressions of the actors, the dialogue delivered by the actors, background music and so on. Emotional representation is also shown through messages that are interpreted semiotically based on Ferdinand de Saussure's theory through changes in costumes (markers), from being originally monochrome (dark dominant) to being more colorful, and changes in a person's character from being closed to being more expressive in expressing their feelings sign).

Sretić, Stefan. "Program content in relation with compositional and technical solutions found in piano pieces by Modest Mussorgsky." Artefact 7, no. 1 (2021): 33–49. http://dx.doi.org/10.5937/artefact2101033s.

Abstract:
The thesis focuses on the analysis of three program pieces - Catacombs, The Hut on Hen's Legs (Baba Yaga) and The Great Gate of Kiev from the Modest Mussorgsky's piano suite Pictures at an Exhibition. A starting point is the analysis of the wider context out of which the mentioned pieces originated which throws light on the stylistic characteristics of Romanticism, and provides grounds for a detailed pondering on the artistic creations of the iconic composer. The study can be valuable for the pianists and musical pedagogists, as the analysis in its essence explores the ways of interpretation of the mentioned compositions. The article PROGRAM CONTENT IN RELATION WITH COMPOSITIONAL AND TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS FOUND IN PIANO PIECES BY MODEST MUSSORGSKY consists of the following chapters: Introduction, Modest Mussorgsky - Features of Artistic Oeuvre and Musical Language, Pictures at an Exhibition: Catacombs, The Hut on Hen's Legs (Baba Yaga) and The Great Gate of Kiev - Analysis of the Contents and Performance Aspects, Conclusion and References. The introductory part offers an explanation of the research framework, presents the research methods and objectives and gives a short review of the literature used for the study. The following chapters are drafted in such a way as to offer to the reader the important information on the characteristics of Mussorgsky's oeuvre in order to provide for a well-founded introspection of the selected compositions. The central part of the thesis is reserved for the analysis of the compositions, first by presenting their program content, and then by focusing on its bonds with compositional and technical solutions found in each piece. In order to come up with fuller consideration of the employed means of expression and their role in evoking the specific contents, the work offers the author's own solutions, all backed up by notational examples and explanations. The piano suite Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky is a work of exceptional value, very inspiring for the performer. Pieces contrast with each other in tempo, character, as well as harmonic and expressive means. In addition to achieving it's unity, it is important that each piece is well conceived, that the main points are singled out and that the narrative of each piece is recognized and complied in the interpretation. Taking into account the atmosphere of the piece Catacombs, the performer should keep the chords long enough and move from one to the other without haste. Another important element of the performance is the acoustic connection of the chords without interruption and being out of context, so it is important to listen well to each chord, with a special focus on the sound level just before the next one. Baba Jaga's flight in a large attic is characterized by a constant vertical in the texture, largely composed of octaves and massive chords, frequent leaps and rapid changes of the register along the entire keyboard. In order to evoke the fierce and evil nature of the character, the composer establishes a characteristic rhythmic scheme. The witch's impatient and angry steps are represented by accents on the weak parts of the beat. The invoice is composed of unison, doubled or tripled octaves. With its sumptuous sound, in full piano capacity, the piece The great gate of Kiev completes the work in an imposing way. Inspired by folklore and church motifs, the composer pays tribute to the Russian people, historical heritage, tradition and cultural values. The grand fi nale opens with the long chords of E-flat major, a key that has often been associated with heroism and fame in the history of music. The massive sonority and triumphant character of this theme, which also closes the cycle, can be connected with the sound of a Russian folk melody sung by large masses of people, in a way that symbolizes the vitality of the national spirit. Mussorgsky's melodic line is characterized by a wide range of expressions, in accordance with the aesthetic and psychological principles of individual paintings; it less often contains "long breath" or longer motion in one direction. Of the selected pieces in this work, except in The great gate of Kiev, the melodic lines are mostly comprised of short motifs. The rhythmic component is extremely important for certain pieces of the cycle (among which is certainly baba yaga). Harmony includes unusual and frequent changes of tonal centers, as well as the appearance of modality. Particularly expressive properties of harmony can be observed in the Catacombs, where dissonances are supported by sharp dynamic extremes, with the aim of evoking the psychological state of the observer in the eclipse of ancient Christian hiding places and tombs. The fi nal considerations, which are focused on the contribution of the research, offer possible perspectives for further studies of pianistic poetics as a means of interpretation of program compositions. I believe that my research has contributed to the elucidation of possible perspectives for further reflections on pianistic poetics in the service of interpreting and evoking compositions of a programmatic character. Also, I hope that this work will be useful to all pianists who are looking for their own solutions and personal path to achieving high creative and artistic achievements.

Abstract:
Abstract The Star Trek franchise currently includes five spin-off series and 13 motion pictures. Star Trek’s central theme is the utopian future of mankind, but the series does not disregard issues that were socially relevant for its time of production. Therefore, Star Trek has functioned as a representation of history throughout its 50-year lifespan. This paper conducts a comparative analysis of fictional representations of psychological disorders and corresponding treatments to retrace the cultural changes in the portrayal and treatment of psychological disorders from the 1960s to the turn of the millennium. Video material produced between 1966 and 1999 was analysed with a focus on psychological disorders and coded according to the ICD-10. The results of the quantitative analysis indicate that the different Star Trek series demonstrate similar patterns of percentage distributions for psychological disorders. The qualitative analysis shows that psychological disorders were portrayed and treated in an increasingly realistic fashion. Changes in society’s attitude towards psychological disorders can be comprehensively illustrated through Star Trek episodes produced through 1999. Psychological phenomena are increasingly destigmatized, and the necessity of treatment has not been disregarded.

Abstract:
The distinct tradition of Indian shadow puppetry has been the subject of much interest among scholars, focusing mainly on its origin, the mutual exchange between different regions across Asia, and the relationship between theater performance and popular culture. This study discusses the similarities of shadow puppets with temple mural painting and loose-leaf paintings, and shows how puppets may have shifted technically from narrative paintings on loose-leaf folios toward motion pictures, in order to create a more interactive link between the audience and the storyteller. The first part of this paper explores the archetypal and psychological meanings of shadow in Indian culture and religion, as well as its relationship with the origins of painting. The main issues include archetypal references to the shadow of Hindu gods described in Vedic, epic, and Purāņic sources, the use of prototypes to transmit knowledge to humankind, and the analysis of shadow puppets as moving pictures. Secondly, the paper analyzes the materiality of puppets and their consistency with Indian aesthetics and art criticism in the form of theoretical principles found in classical texts and art treatises such as the Nāțyaśāstra, the Viṣṇudhārmottāra, and the Śilpaśāstra.

Abstract:
Children’s story books serve not only as a medium of verbal communication but also as that of non-verbal one. Messages conveyed through children’s story books will not be attracting to children if not accompanied by their non-verbal forms, such as pictures and symbols. Therefore every story book should be able to influence the child psychologically through pictures or symbols. This in turn affects the process of translating children’s storybook texts, including in determining translation techniques. This study examines the technique of translating Balinese children’s story books from English into Indonesian. This study was conducted with a qualitative research design. The results of the study show that the translation of Balinese children’s textbooks is mostly done literally using simple language. The writing children’s story books emphasizes the presentation of non-verbal forms of communication to foster and maintain their interest in reading. The writing and translation of children’s story texts is based on consideration of their psychological aspects so that the translator avoids the use of complicated words.

Abstract:
Garment opening is strongly related to the daily life quality of physically disabled people with scoliosis (PDPSs). This research proposes a kinesiological evaluation method to investigate the influence of garment opening positions in dressing activities of PDPSs. For this purpose, dressing activities are firstly deconstructed into several motions. The performance of different garment opening positions is represented by the performance of the wearer carrying out different motions in dressing activities. The proposed evaluation method is based on the Completion Level (CL), which includes both physical and psychological indicators: Motion Standard Time (MST), Motion Difficulty Degree (MDD) and Motion Independence Degree (MID). MST is a physical indicator regarding the standard time to complete a motion in the dressing activities. It reflects the physical autonomy of the wearer in the dressing activity. MDD and MID are psychological indicators, which are developed to evaluate the psychological independence and difficulty of dressing motions respectively. Subjective evaluation is used to obtain data regarding MDD and MID. Due to the fact that there is always vagueness and uncertainly in the subjective evaluation, fuzzy set theory is applied to the data process regarding MDD and MID. A case study is presented to explain the implications of the proposed method. The case study indicated that garment opening positions have an influence on the dressing activity. PDPS will benefit from a well-constructed garment, and a proper positioning of the opening, in terms of both physical and psychological aspects.

Abstract:
Abstract Medical imaging is predominantly a visual field. In this context, prenatal ultrasound images assume intense social, ethical, and psychological significance by virtue of the subject they represent: the fetus. This feature, along with the sophistication introduced by three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound imaging that allows improved visualization of the fetus, has contributed to the common impression that prenatal ultrasound scans are like photographs of the fetus. In this article we discuss the consistency of such a comparison. First, we investigate the epistemic role of both analogic and digital photographic images as visual information-providing representations holding a high degree of objectivity. Second, we examine the structure and process of production of ultrasound scans and argue that a comparison between two-dimensional (2D) ultrasound and photography is justified. This is in contrast to 3D ultrasound images that, due to the intensive mathematical processing involved in their production, present some structural issues that obfuscate their ontological and epistemic status.

Abstract:
The question of the relation between Film and philosophy has been at the center of many intellectual debates since the foundation of cinema. It has been paraphrased and articulated in many disciplines such as Philosophy of Film, Film-Philosophy, Philosophy of Motion Pictures, Philosophy of Moving Images, even Film Theory. Nevertheless, as much as the technical aspects of the movies developed rapidly, the philosophical questions around it became more and more specific and the answers became more fallible by the end of the day. If you could agree before with some of the ontological conclusions of Bazin, Deleuze, Badiou or Cavell about celluloid-based Film, you certainly cannot share that agreement to generalize that to the kind of digital imagery that we call ‘Film’ today, nor can you justify the Hologram or 3D IMAX footage as constituents of a motion picture. The irony is that the old question, ‘what is Film?’, is as often and as rapidly revised as the question, “what is philosophy?”.

Abstract:
The article dwells on the work of Asghar Farhadi, one of the leading Iranian film directors, a proud winner of a number of prestigious international awards. The author proves that modern Iranian filmmakers show preferences to other genres as opposed to those favored in the 1990s; metaphorical ellipses have replaced the obvious conclusions and contemplative moralizing has given way to focusing on characters inner world. The article emphasizes that A. Farhadi was among the first in Iranian cinema to have fully mastered the achievements of European psychological drama. The logic of characters behavior and cause- and-effect relationship appeared to have been the most vulnerable point in the films of Iranian New Wave. The first films by A. Farhadi (Dancing in the Dust, 2003; The Beautiful City, 2004; Fireworks Wednesday, 2006) manifested a significant step forward in this respect. Though these pictures are less known to the audience and not so generously acclaimed and rewarded by international film festivals as his famous Salesman, they show Farhadis skills of a talented psychologist more apparently. The author notes that by turning to psychoanalysis, Farhadi does not reject social aspects, but merely shifts the highlights. His social criticism does not have the acuteness of an open confrontation, but is subtly interwoven into his contemplating narratives, characters reflections and motivations. The article also touches the image of women, which has considerably changed since the late 1990s. The director is less interested in social contradictions and tension caused by the oppressed status of women in an Islamic society. Instead, he is more concerned with their inner world and how they deal with complicated issues.

Abstract:
Violence, in its criminal and political aspects, largely reflects the contradictory impulses set in motion by modernization and serves as an expression of the various dislocations — social, economic, psychological and cultural — which accompany that process. Violence increases when the prevailing institutions fail to mediate among the various antagonistic forces unleashed by socio-economic and political change. Colombia represents a country where violence has risen overwhelmingly in recent years, reaching extremes of both extent and duration. A phenomenon well worth scholarly attention, the subject of violence has given rise to an impressive body of literature concerned with exploring its many aspects: its causes, trajectory, and variety of manifestations (see Sánchez, 1991).

Abstract:
Since one of the most important aspects of a Fish Tank Virtual Reality (FTVR) system is how well it provides the illusion of depth to users, we present a study that evaluates users' depth perception in FTVR systems using three tasks. The tasks are based on psychological research on human vision and depth judgments common in VR applications. We find that participants do not perform well under motion parallax cues only, when compared with stereo only or a combination of both kinds of cues. Measurements of participants' head movement during each task prove valuable in explaining the experimental findings. We conclude that FTVR users rely on stereopsis for depth perception in FTVR environments more than they do on motion parallax, especially for tasks requiring depth acuity.

Abstract:
Copyright industries represent an important part of the developed economies. The effective protection of copyright fulfills an important role in the advancement of innovation and economic development. However, in the digital economy, the protection of copyrighted works poses numerous and very difficult challenges. The protected works usually targeted by criminals are computer programs, motion pictures, video games, and musical compositions. The estimated or actual harm to copyright owners can amount to billions of dollars. Moreover, these offenses are sometimes perpetrated in connection with other crimes, such as conspiracy to commit racketeering or money laundering. This paper argues that criminal enforcement of copyright can be an important safeguard of economic and information security interests. The paper discusses essential aspects regarding the criminal protection of copyright in the United States. Based on a theoretically-informed, yet empirically-driven approach, which takes into account a large corpus of data, consisting mostly of cases brought to courts of law, the paper discusses the main aspects of the phenomenon. Finally, the paper proposes a number of measures that would improve the protection copyrighted works. Keywords: Copyright, Economic Development, Cybercrime, Infringement, Security, Loss

Abstract:
Virtual Reality (VR) is a well-known concept and has been proven to be beneficial in various areas. However, several disadvantages inherent in VR prevent its broad deployment in the educational arena. These limitations include non-realistic representation, lack of customizability and flexibility, financial feasibility, physical and psychological discomforts of the users, simulator sickness, etc. In this paper, an innovative method that uses the Microsoft Kinect as an essential component for developing game-based VR educational laboratories is presented. This technique addresses three different aspects. First, it represents an efficient method for creating the VE using the Kinect as a measuring tool. Second, the Kinect is employed as a substitute DAQ system for acquiring range data and tracking the motion of objects of interest. At last, the Kinect serves as a novel human-computer interface for tracking the users’ entire body motion and recognizing their voices. Using the method described here, three major aspects of educational VR development can be accomplished with an inexpensive and commercially available Kinect.

Abstract:
An example of inverse estimation of irregular multivariable signals is provided by picture restoration. Pictures typically have sharp edges and therefore will be modeled by functions with discontinuities, and they could be blurred by motion. Mathematically, this means that we actually observe the convolution of the irregular function representing the picture with a spread function. Since these observations will contain measurement errors, statistical aspects will be pertinent. Traditional recovery is corrupted by the Gibbs phenomenon (i.e., overshooting) near the edges, just as in the case of direct approximations. In order to eliminate these undesirable effects, we introduce an integral Cesàro mean in the inversion procedure, leading to multivariable Fejér kernels. Integral metrics are not sufficiently sensitive to properly assess the quality of the resulting estimators. Therefore, the performance of the estimators is studied in the Hausdorff metric, and a speed of convergence of the Hausdorff distance between the graph of the input signal and its estimator is obtained.

Abstract:
AbstractSocial life has moved toward the digital world in many aspects. As the original inhabitants of virtual life, young people face several adversities while flirting and dating online. The anonymity of the online environment enables aggression without consequences. Cyberviolence has no boundaries as time or place. Thus it may cause psychological distress.Young people frequently use online dating and social networking sites, which makes them vulnerable to cyber dating violence, sextortion, and revenge porn. Cyberdating violence usually targets young women and girls. It is mainly related to stereotypical gender beliefs: presented as controlling behavior and psychological violence. Survivors of cyber dating violence tend to feel anger, hostility, and loneliness. Sextortion is image-based sexual abuse, which includes threats with intimate pictures or videos. Perpetrators of sextortion can be hackers, ex-partners, or admirers. Exposure to sextortion is related to shame, fear, and helplessness. Former partners may use revenge porn to control one’s behavior. It is another kind of image-based sexual abuse. Perpetrators may use nonconsensual pornography to punish or humiliate their ex-partners.Cyber victimization is as traumatic as real-life victimization. That results in depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress. Moreover, the absence of time and space restrictions can make cyberviolence even more debilitative. I aim to inform European psychiatrists about the current shapes of cyber psychological trauma in the context of online flirting and dating. So that psychiatrists can better understand its content and outcomes, especially while working with young people.Disclosure of InterestNone Declared

Abstract:
The portrayal of female gender in performing arts has been a product of constant societal change. From the days when Female parts were acted upon by male counterparts to the advent of motion pictures and the role of women in making the medium their own , the journey has been long. This can be also studied under the context of anthropology, gender issues, and women emancipation. The female characters have been always fixed into the narrative by the virtue of a certain appeal they exhibit. From Laura Mulvey’s male gaze theory in cinema to the aesthetics of violence in cinema , both have been depicted in experimental ways in films. The portrayal of rape scenes dishonoring the basic existential being of any women have been shot in a number of ways to make a case in point in the film narrative. The shooting of such sequences and the psychological impact of this on the female casts is a critical study within cinema studies. Much to the women empowerment and vocal voices there has been a critical debate on how to film the female body and more so traumatic sequences such as the depiction of rape in the narrative.

Abstract:
Words lay in the core position in language acquisition, however, acquiring a word is far more than its meaning acquisition. Aiming at helping foreign language learners who want to become good language learners or native-like learners through the word (or vocabulary) acquisition, the goal of becoming high intake generators at vocabulary acquisition is targeted and the learning method concerning the effective use of a carefully selected dictionary is explored. How to select a desirable dictionary and how to effectively use the carefully selected dictionary are the two main aspects to be investigated. The essence of the two investigation aspects is to guarantee the optimal input and strategically maximized intake developed from the input. Based on the analyses of the required functions and components of dictionary, it is investigated thoroughly that an optimal monolingual foreign dictionary is selected out, with the optimal input including a desirable type of meaning definitions, corresponding pictures to vocabulary items and “complete knowledge”. Next, effective learning strategies when using the selected dictionary are explored to realize learners’ strategically maximization of language intake from the input, which includes the adaption to the monolingual model, the applications of transfer, note-taking, effective mnemonic strategies and the psychological preparations.

Abstract:
Ecranisation is transformation of written text in a novel into motion pictures in film. In so doing, the transformation undergoes three kinds of characteristics which become the main analysis in ecranization study, namely reduction, addition, and variation of change. This article discusses the results of a study on how the three processes in terms of social setting have contributed to the alteration of storyline. Objective data were collected through purposive sampling in this qualitative study from the novel and its film of Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. The results show that the storyline in the film is socially constructed differently from its origin in the novel. It was found that the social behavior and the characterization in the film are not depicted in the same way as in the novel. As the novel is the benchmark for identifying any changes of social setting in the film, it is implied that the transformation has failed in taking into various social aspects as inherent element of storyline in the novel.

Abstract:
We studied the development of spontaneous tactile drawing in three 12-year-old children with congenital total blindness and with no previous drawing tuition. In a period of 9 months, from an initial phase in which they were taught to draw tangible straight and curve raised lines, the three blind children went on making spontaneous raised outlines representing edges, surfaces of objects, vantage point, and motion. The corpus of drawings produced by these children shows that several aspects of outline pictures can be implemented through touch. The perceptual principles represented in these drawings are comparable to those commonly found in sighted children. On the one hand, this convergence indicates similarities in the way vision and touch mediate the acquisition and the conceptualisation of spatial information from objects and the environment. On the other hand, it reflects the influence of cross-modal plasticity typically associated with early or congenital blindness. This study suggests that drawing development in general does not depend on learning pictorial conventions. Rather it seems driven by natural generativity based on children’s knowledge of space and perceptual principles.

Abstract:
The greatest loss caused by the insurgency in Narathiwat province which is in the south of Thailand is the lives of the orphans whose parents or beloved ones have been deprived among conflicts and violence. Even though the affected people have received different aids, such cases are not as important as the situation faced by the orphans. After the losses, no one truly pays attention to the extent to which the southern crisis affects these unfortunate children. Even in time of peace, the children who will become adults in future have to face and suffers from severe social biases at home and elsewhere. They also have to face violence and the lack of safety in their lives. This is a result of the fire of vengeance between local people and the government’s suppression which is a game of those villains in power. The orphans will have to sustain their lives alone despite some aids from the government and private sectors. In order to create social awareness of the orphans’ daily lives in Narathiwat province, which affects their psychological status, education, and security of individual, social, and country’s levels, the awareness is raised through video art creation. Video art is a form of art which can reflects the way of lives of those who suffer from losses by presenting the stories of those who have lost, especially in terms of mental status after the loss. Video arts also present views and cultures of the locals with motion pictures, picture placement, and actions and contemporary artistic framework to convey the important message to the society so that people will understand the reality. Video arts are produced based on the researcher’s viewpoints and attitudes gained from the five senses – vision, hearing, smell, taste and touch. Video art is also a type of media that fully responds to human’s imaginations.

ABSTRACTThe Moving Ego and Moving Time metaphors have provided a fertile testing ground for the psychological reality of space–time metaphors. Despite this, little research has targeted the linguistic patterns used in these two mappings. To fill that gap, the current study uses corpus data to examine the use of motion verbs in two typologically different languages, English and Spanish. We first investigated the relative frequency of the two metaphors. Whereas we observed no difference in frequency in the Spanish data, our findings indicated that in English, Moving Time expressions are more prevalent than are Moving Ego expressions. Second, we focused on the patterns of use of the verbs themselves, asking whether well-known typological patterns in the expression of spatial motion would carry over to temporal motion. Specifically, we examined the frequencies of temporal uses of path and manner verbs in English and in Spanish. Contra the patterns observed in space, we observed a preference for path verbs in both languages, with this preference more strongly evident in English than in Spanish. In addition, our findings revealed greater use of motion verbs in temporal expressions in Spanish compared to English. These findings begin to outline constraints on the aspects of spatial conceptualization that are likely to be reused in the conceptualization of time.

Abstract:
The combination of gesture recognition and aerospace exploration robots can realize the efficient non-contact control of the robots. In the harsh aerospace environment, the captured gesture images are usually blurred and damaged inevitably. The motion blurred images not only cause part of the transmitted information to be lost, but also affect the effect of neural network training in the later stage. To improve the speed and accuracy of motion blurred gestures recognition, the algorithm of YOLOv4 (You Only Look Once, vision 4) is studied from the two aspects of motion blurred image processing and model optimization. The DeblurGanv2 is employed to remove the motion blur of the gestures in YOLOv4 network input pictures. In terms of model structure, the K-means++ algorithm is used to cluster the priori boxes for obtaining the more appropriate size parameters of the priori boxes. The CBAM attention mechanism and SPP (spatial pyramid pooling layer) structure are added to YOLOv4 model to improve the efficiency of network learning. The dataset for network training is designed for the human–computer interaction in the aerospace space. To reduce the redundant features of the captured images and enhance the effect of model training, the Wiener filter and bilateral filter are superimposed on the blurred images in the dataset to simply remove the motion blur. The augmentation of the model is executed by imitating different environments. A YOLOv4-gesture model is built, which collaborates with K-means++ algorithm, the CBAM and SPP mechanism. A DeblurGanv2 model is built to process the input images of the YOLOv4 target recognition. The YOLOv4-motion-blur-gesture model is composed of the YOLOv4-gesture and the DeblurGanv2. The augmented and enhanced gesture data set is used to simulate the model training. The experimental results demonstrate that the YOLOv4-motion-blur-gesture model has relatively better performance. The proposed model has the high inclusiveness and accuracy recognition effect in the real-time interaction of motion blur gestures, it improves the network training speed by 30%, the target detection accuracy by 10%, and the value of mAP by about 10%. The constructed YOLOv4-motion-blur-gesture model has a stable performance. It can not only meet the real-time human–computer interaction in aerospace space under real-time complex conditions, but also can be applied to other application environments under complex backgrounds requiring real-time detection.

Abstract:
Based on the study of the feature extraction algorithm based on the multiple empirical mode decomposition of the Duffing equation, this paper proposes a corresponding improved algorithm, completes the identification and analysis of the psychological pressure dimension space under the audiovisual induction method, and designs two typical psychological types of music and pictures. Based on the stress induction experiment, an audiovisual-induced psychological stress recognition system based on EEG (electroencephalogram) signals was built. Aiming at the problem that the spatial uniform sampling method cannot well reflect the dynamic characteristics of the multivariate EEG signal, based on the Duffing equation, a nonuniform sampling algorithm that adaptively selects the projection direction is proposed. At present, the use of the Duffing equation to detect weak unknown signals is to select a set of fixed parameters. Analysis of these two aspects to determine the parameters of the system is based on the parameter analysis of the Duffing equation oscillator. Due to the sensitivity of the Duffing equation to the initial value, the choice of parameters has a great influence on the detection effect. In response to this situation, the relationship between the parameters and initial values of the Duffing equation is analyzed. From the relationship between the parameters and the initial values, the influence of different parameters on the detection effect is analyzed to verify the superiority of the current equation parameters. First, the multichannel EEG signal is nonuniformly sampled multiempirical modal decomposition, and an effective intrinsic modal function is selected to extract the mental stress EEG characteristics. Experimental results show that the EEG signal recognition algorithm based on the Duffing equation effectively extracts EEG signal features and improves the classification accuracy of mental stress EEG signals.

Abstract:
Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) is a cardiomyopathy that clinically presents as a transient and reversible left ventricular wall motion abnormality (LVWMA). Recovery can occur spontaneously within hours or weeks. Studies have shown that it mainly affects older people. In particular, there is a higher prevalence in postmenopausal women. Physical and emotional stress factors are widely discussed and generally recognized triggers. In addition, the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and the associated glucocorticoid-dependent negative feedback play an important role in the resulting immune response. This review aims to highlight the unstudied aspects of the trigger factors of TTS. The focus is on emotional stress/chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS), which is influenced by estrogen concentration and noradrenaline, for example, and can lead to changes in the behavioral, hormonal, and autonomic systems. Age- and gender-specific aspects, as well as psychological effects, must also be considered. We hypothesize that this leads to a stronger corticosteroid response and altered feedback of the HPA axis. This may trigger proinflammatory markers and thus immunosuppression, inflammaging, and sympathetic overactivation, which contributes significantly to the development of TTS. The aim is to highlight the importance of CUMS and psychological triggers as risk factors and to make an exploratory proposal based on the new knowledge. Based on the imbalance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation (tVNS) is presented as a possible new therapeutic approach.

Abstract:
Murine behavior recognition is widely used in biology, neuroscience, pharmacology, and other aspects of research, and provides a basis for judging the psychological and physiological state of mice. To solve the problem whereby traditional behavior recognition methods only model behavioral changes in mice over time or space, we propose a symmetrical algorithm that can capture spatiotemporal information based on behavioral changes. The algorithm first uses the improved DeepLabCut keypoint detection algorithm to locate the nose, left ear, right ear, and tail root of the mouse, and then uses the ConvLSTM network to extract spatiotemporal information from the keypoint feature map sequence to classify five behaviors of mice: walking straight, resting, grooming, standing upright, and turning. We developed a murine keypoint detection and behavior recognition dataset, and experiments showed that the method achieved a percentage of correct keypoints (PCK) of 87±1% at three scales and against four backgrounds, while the classification accuracy for the five kinds of behaviors reached 93±1%. The proposed method is thus accurate for keypoint detection and behavior recognition, and is a useful tool for murine motion behavior recognition.

The principles and exercises proposed in the article contribute to the organization of such an educational process that will ensure the achievement of a high level of communicative competence of chinese students, the author considers certain didactic techniques that allow achieving a high level of formation of foreign-language communicative competence, neutralization of passion and psychological barrier («psychological counseling», debates, «brainstorming», «fun pictures», comic dialogues, thematic autostoritelling, «black box», «director himself», roleplaying games, «lexical physical education», etc.). The article notes that the main way to overcome this is to use means, methods and techniques in the process of training based on the pedagogical impact of humor, the use of which should become an integral component of the process of teaching chinese students of oral speech and be consistently implemented in all aspects of this process: in the speech behavior of the teacher, in the selection of didactic material, in the typology of the proposed tasks. The author justifies the concept of lessons in colloquial speech as an «encyclopedia of life» and the need to expand the outlook of students by providing them with new information from the field of «background knowledge», not only aimed at expanding the lexical base, but also containing interesting information about psychological and cultural phenomena.

Abstract:
Abstract Distancing is an effective tactic for emotion regulation, which can take several forms depending on the type(s) of psychological distance being manipulated to modify affect. We recently proposed a neurocognitive model of emotional distancing, but it is unknown how its specific forms are instantiated in the brain. Here, we presented healthy young adults (N = 34) with aversive pictures during functional magnetic resonance imaging to directly compare behavioral performance and brain activity across spatial, temporal, and objective forms of distancing. We found emotion regulation performance to be largely comparable across these forms. A conjunction analysis of activity associated with these forms yielded a high degree of overlap, encompassing regions of the default mode and frontoparietal networks as predicted by our model. A multivariate pattern classification further revealed distributed patches of posterior cortical activation that discriminated each form from one another. These findings not only confirm aspects of our overarching model but also elucidate a novel role for cortical regions in and around the parietal lobe in selectively supporting spatial, temporal, and social cognitive processes to distance oneself from an emotional encounter. These regions may provide new targets for brain-based interventions for emotion dysregulation.

Abstract:
In this paper it will be argued that the naturalist metaphysical assumptions of scientific attention to psychological, physical and behavioural aspects of the person, with particular attention to the explanatory normative promise of evolutionary psychology, might be necessary, but are not sufficient to establish any final picture of the flourishing person. How and what we are shaped to be, is amongst these factors, a consequence of our capacity to escape the causal determinants of biology and be responsive to matters of value as embodied in our social institutions. Because we are self-reflective, imaginative and critical, we construct varying cultures which sometimes embody very different pictures of what is to be valued and what is to count as identity and flourishing with respect to those values. If this is the case, then it is also necessarily the case that any visions of healthcare incorporating a broad scope directed towards flourishing and wellbeing will incorporate a picture of the healthy person governed by some ethical, socio-political or religious framework. Values so derived might sometimes be unwittingly implicit in a putatively neutral ‘scientific’ account of wellbeing.

Abstract:
PurposeThis current study aimed to analyze the effect of parental rejection on children in The Willoughbys (2020) movie. The focus of discussion in this study was centered on the first child of the Willoughbys family, namely Tim Willoughby. MethodThe method used to help analyze the data is a qualitative method. The data are taken from pictures and dialogues from the movies. Through the psychological approach, this study implemented Parental-Rejection Theory (PARTheory) to help analyze the effect of parental rejection presented in the movie. Results/findingsThe study showed that parental rejection affects children socially and emotionally. It influenced some aspects of children’s life. Tim Willoughby suggested that parental rejection affected his perspective of the world, his dependency level, his relationship with others, and also his mental state. ConclusionThe study concluded that the consequences of parental rejection contain features that can have the potential to last for a long time. Therefore, this study suggests that parents must take into consideration of their words as well as actions toward their children. They also have to pay close attention to their children’s development so that they can intervene if children show any symptoms that indicate problems.

Abstract:
The impact of surgery on the surgeon’s well-being encompasses both physical and psychological aspects. Physically, surgeons are at risk of work-related musculoskeletal symptoms due to the nature of their work, and this risk can be impacted by theater environment, equipment design, and workload. Many symptoms will be self-limiting, but work related musculoskeletal symptoms can lead to the development of an injury, which can have far reaching effects, including the need for medical or surgical treatment, time away from work, or a change in clinical duties. Additionally, surgery can place a significant cognitive workload on the lead operator and this can be exacerbated, or alleviated, by the surgical environment, experience of the assistance, surgical modality, and case complexity. Measuring and quantifying the impact of surgery on the surgeon is a challenging undertaking. Tools such as motion capture, physiological markers, including heart rate variability and salivary cortisol, and questionnaires can provide insights into understanding the overall impact of surgery on the surgeon. A holistic approach that incorporates injury prevention strategies, communication, and support, is vital in assessing and mitigating risk factors. Injury prevention assessment tools and interventions that can be used within the busy surgical environment are needed, alongside increased ergonomic awareness. Addressing the impact of surgery on the surgeon is a multifaceted challenge, and long term positive changes can only be sustained with the support of the whole surgical team and healthcare organizations by developing and maintaining a supportive working environment.

KOLTSOVA, N. Z., and L. ZHANG. "SPATIAL SYMBOLS OF A. BÖCKLIN’S THE ISLE OF THE DEAD IN ANDREI BELY’S PETERSBURG." Lomonosov Journal of Philology, no. 2, 2024 (June 16, 2024): 155–65. http://dx.doi.org/10.55959/msu0130-0075-9-2024-47-02-10.

Abstract:
The paper attempts to explore the structural elements of the landscape of Andrei Bely’s novel in correlation with the spatial coordinates and symbolic images of A. Böcklin’s painting The Isle of the Dead. The Swiss artist’s techniques used in the novel are highlighted: color and light painting, the technique of inverse and combined perspective. In addition, microplots of fog, sails and the Bronze Horseman are presented in the novel as ‘pictures with motion’, due to which the visual images-symbols smoothly ‘flow’ into each other, forming a single whole, which meets the author’s desire to reproduce a three-dimensional mythopoetic model of the world based on the unity of macrocosm and microcosm, nature and man. From Bely’s point of view, gloomy rocks, the sky, white clothes, cypresses are a kind of coordinate axes of Böcklin’s painting - they set the horizontal and vertical levels of the universe. In the painting The Isle of the Dead, the horizontal is the Styx and the sky that seems bright; the vertical is shaped by the cypress and the rock. In the novel Petersburg the spire(s) acts as a vertical. The spire is not only a connecting line stretching from the city to the sky, but also a component of the symbolism of the cross: the Neva and the city streets, Petersburg lines, primarily act as a horizontal line. In addition, the image of the spire also fulfils a psychological and compositional function by drawing attention to the climaxes of a particular storyline: as a rule, the moment of the highest psychological tension (whether we are talking about the senator, the terrorist Dudkin, Anna Petrovna, or others) is marked by the mention of the ‘needle’, and extended introspection is often replaced by a ‘point’ indication of this detail of the city panorama, which turns out to be the focus of the character’s perception.

Abstract:
Introduction There is no coordinated care system for patients with rare diseases in Poland. Aim The aim of the study was to define the most important aspects of medical, social and professional care under the project titled “Education in a new reality: a comprehensive and long-term model of physiotherapeutic treatment in spinal muscular atrophy” developed by Stowarzyszenie Lwie Serca (Lion Hearts Association). Material and methods The study included 27 children with SMA1 and SMA2 treated pharmacologically. Motor development was checked using the CHOP INTEND and HFMSE scales; the body posture was measured with the Bunnell scoliometer and the Rippstein plurimeter, and the range of motion in the joints of the upper and lower limbs was measured. Respiratory and neurologopedic problems were assessed. The social, professional and financial situation of the families was analyzed. Psychological data was collected based on an interview with parents. Results Nineteen children were diagnosed with type 1 SMA and 8 with type 2. On the CHOP INTEND scale, the mean number of points was 30.8; in HFMSE 21.7. Disorders in the shape of the chest, spine, hip joints and reduced range of motion were found. 18 children (66.7%) used a ventilator in the invasive and non-invasive mode. Most children had symptoms of dysarthria and stomatognathic disorders. The main psychological problems among parents were severe stress, low mood, and a sense of loneliness. Conclusion In Poland, it is necessary to introduce a system of comprehensive, coordinated care for children with spinal muscular atrophy. Keywords: spinal muscular atrophy, body posture, developmental scales

Abstract:
The author of Ala Recherchedu Temps Perdu, M. Proust was certainly a man of his time, which was coincidentally the beginning of the cinematic age. Therefore, it remains a relevant scholarly task to recognize the virtual connections between Proust’s poetics and filmmaking techniques: a problem S. Fokin is trying to solve in this article. Here, he focuses less on the principles of a strictly philological analysis that centres on textual elements, intertextual aspects or the book’s genesis, but prefers instead to delve into elements of literary anthropology, with its preoccupation with the unity between the author, the text and the context, which does not rule out the use of literature as a tool for comprehension of a literary personality. Such an assumption does not reduce literature to life: an opponent of Sainte-Beuve’s biographical method, Proust, for one, would not tolerate it; but neither does it reduce literature to a text as a self-sufficient structure: this position sees the book as co-substantial to the author. To summarize the findings, in order to understand Proust’s view of the cinematic art, one should remember that his almost snobbish dismissal of the meaning and significance of motion pictures was just as typical of the author as his aristocratic ideas about the meaning of literature.
