Veshkurtsev, Yury. THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE THEORY OF CONSTRUCTION OF NEW-GENERATION MODEMS. au: AUS PUBLISHERS, 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.26526/monography_628a8925151ca0.71125494.

Full text
Abstract:
The monography presents the fundamentals of the theory of construction new-generation modems. Modems are built on the principles of statistical communication theory, based on the use of a random signal (chaos) as a carrier of information. In such a signal, a characteristic function is modulated, which is a fundamental characteristic of a random process. The signal modulation and demodulation method is patented and allows you to create modems with efficiency and noise immunity indicators several orders of magnitude higher than those of the known devices of the same name. New-generation modems immediately improve the technical characteristics of digital IT equipment by several orders of magnitude, since they work without errors in wired and radio channels when receiving one hundred duodecillion of binary symbols. The book is recommended for scientists and specialists in the field of digital communication systems, statistical radio engineering and instrumentation, and may be useful for graduate students, masters and students of relevant specialties.

Full text
Abstract:
Photomultipliers (PMTs) are current generators characterized by high gain, wide bandwidth, and high-output impedance. The role of preamplifiers and amplifiers is generally one of conditioning the PMT output. Either the time signature is preserved using a fast voltage preamplifier, or a voltage proportional to the charge in each event is generated with a charge-sensitive preamplifier. Both preamplifier types are generally of low-output impedance, suitable for driving matched coaxial cable. Preamplifiers and amplifiers are available as modular units (e.g. nuclear instrument module), stand alone, or are incorporated in a module including the PMT. Shaping amplifiers are used to further condition preamplifier signals, using integrating and differentiating circuits—particularly relevant to scintillation spectrometers. Discrete-component amplifiers and current-feedback operational amplifiers serve fast applications. Digital signal processing has overtaken many of the classical electronic techniques involving resolution and in pulse shape discrimination. Electronic circuitry for generating fast LED pulses is discussed.

Full text
Abstract:
This article gives an introduction to state-of-the-art text-to-speech (TTS) synthesis systems, showing both the natural language processing and the digital signal processing problems involved. Text-to-speech (TTS) synthesis is the art of designing talking machines. The article begins with brief user-oriented description of a general TTS system and comments on its commercial applications. It then gives a functional diagram of a modern TTS system, highlighting its components. It describes its morphosyntactic module. Furthermore, it examines why sentence-level phonetization cannot be achieved by a sequence of dictionary look-ups, and describes possible implementations of the phonetizer. Finally, the article describes prosody generation, outlining how intonation and duration can approximately be computed from text. Prosody refers to certain properties of the speech signal, which are related to audible changes in pitch, loudness, and syllable length. This article also introduces the two main existing categories of techniques for waveform generation: synthesis by rule and concatenative synthesis.

Abstract:
This chapter gives an overview of approaches used to understand the generation of electroencephalographic (EEG) signals using computational models. The basic concept is that appropriate modeling of neuronal networks, based on relevant anatomical and physiological data, allows researchers to test hypotheses about the nature of EEG signals. Here these models are considered at different levels of complexity. The first level is based on single cell biophysical properties anchored in classic Hodgkin-Huxley theory. The second level emphasizes on detailed neuronal networks and their role in generating different kinds of EEG oscillations. At the third level are models derived from the Wilson-Cowan approach, which constitutes the backbone of neural mass models. Another part of the chapter is dedicated to models of epileptiform activities. Finally, the themes of nonlinear dynamic systems and topological models in EEG generation are discussed.
