Abstract:
Modern trends in production management have increased the importance of the time factor in both production and logistics. However, there is much less room for maneuver in production than in logistics. Therefore, to reduce the duration of the main production cycle, many companies are trying to improve intra-production logistics by introducing new technologies and logistics systems. Of decisive importance for production management is the activity of supplying the necessary materials, including logistics operations. In this context, it is worth mentioning that at the present stage the basic links between production management and logistics have been concentrated by specialists in a new field that has been defined as logistics management. According to the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, “Logistics management is an integration function that coordinates and optimizes all logistics activities, as well as integrates logistics activities with other functions, including marketing, sales production, finance and information technology”(Supply Chain Management Definitions and Glossary, 2020). We believe that the concept of logistics management best meets all the links between production management and logistics.

Abstract:
This paper describes the trends towards green logistics in global aspect and challenges of adopting green logistics in the region of Southeast Europe. Modern logistics with supply chain management is experiencing a period of important evolution. From reversible logistics, we came to green logistics, which is a wider concept of environmentally friendly thinking. Reverse logistics includes processes of movements and transportation of waste from users to recycling plants; meanwhile, green logistics deals also with environmental issues such as pollution and environmental degradation caused by improper logistics processes and utilisation of old and environmentally unfriendly transport technology. The case of Southeast Europe was analysed, and in this context, a development model for green logistics implementation was proposed. A vast number of different challenges in the logistics sector are still open in this region; therefore, systematic analyses and proposals should be subject of additional scientific work in the logistics sector. All parties, including manufacturing industry, logistics providers and governments should take an active part in such researches, as the pressure from green thinking will become even stronger in the coming period. Industry 4.0 and Logistics 4.0 are highly modern terms. They are connected with the common trend of digitalization, virtualization and networking of data and information. Typical is the implementation of new information and communication technologies into production and logistics practice. This will change the working conditions, processes as well as business models. “Industry 4.0” is the synonym for the 4-th industrial revolution in a general understanding. The term “Industry 4.0” was first used in a high-tech-strategy project of the German government in 2011 at the Hannover Fair. (Compare [1,2]) The paper describes the terms Industry 4.0 and Logistics 4.0 as two of the most important trends in production and logistics. It characterizes the big chances of this development. The paper gives an overview about important solutions in this area. (Compare [3]) Some new solutions are discussed according to material sciences, as it is also very important to develop and use new materials, which help to create smart solutions. Smart materials are created in the areas of e.g. laminated, composite and functionally graded materials, thermal and piezoelectric actuation, active and passive damping, vibrations and waves in smart structures. (Compare [4]) Smart materials allow the design and implementation of actuator, sensor fields and networks. Further examples are self-reporting materials, which autonomously report about problems and defects. This allows an evaluation and control of defects of components during their use and application. The role of labor potential in the current economy as the main factor of its development is considered with taking into account the influence of innovative trends in the world economy and the need to develop a competitive domestic economy in the near future. Nowadays, the problem solution to improve the quality parameters of labor potential under current circumstances is possible with taking into consideration the following trends: first, structural changes in the economy of the postindustrial type contribute to an increase in labor potential number in the non-productive sphere. Secondly, destructive changes in the socio-economic system, on the one hand, and the need for further development of the national economy in accordance with the competition laws in the global market, on the other hand, determine the change in the management system of its formation and development. Economic instability of our time especially concerns industrial enterprises that affects the reduction of enterprise competitiveness, and response flexibility of the logistics system of industrial enterprises to environmental changes. Consequently, enterprise management pays more attention to modern methods and ways to conduct activities based on the logistics principles.

Abstract:
The recession caused by the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting the activities of economic operators in the vast majority of sectors. It is obvious that the impact of the pandemic factor on the transport and logistics sector has reached a significant scale. Logistics companies involved in the movement (delivery) and storage of goods (cargo) were directly affected by SARS-CoV-2. As an integral part of production and distribution chains both domestically and in the global market, logistics companies directly promote trade and commerce and help companies deliver their products (goods) to customers (buyers, consumers). Thus, supply chain disruptions caused by the pandemic significantly affect the competitiveness of companies, communications, economic growth, job creation and preservation, business scaling. The paper examines the functioning of logistics systems and international transport supply chains in the difficult conditions of recession caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. A critical analysis of the architecture, capabilities and efficiency of global logistics and the challenges that shape modern trends and behaviour (production, sales, marketing, etc.) of economic entities. The paper examines the effects of the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic on the efficiency of these systems, namely – economic and marketing aspects, as well as changes in the organizational structure. The study identifies and analyses current transformations of trade and logistics relations and emphasizes the need to develop a new logistics architecture taking into account key factors influencing the industry through the definition of a set of economic (financial, commercial, investment) indicators that reflect the state of the industry with further development of effective strategic measures to support and develop logistics architecture based on innovation and implementation of non-conflicting business practices.

Abstract:
In a market economy, there are a significant number of shipping companies that compete with each other and fight for maximum profits in a highly competitive environment. Competitive advantages lie in the plane of organization of the fleet, which relate mainly to the management of shipping companies. Operators of shipping companies establish tactical and strategic cooperation with freight forwarders and other participants in the logistics chain for the successful implementation of business processes and subprocesses. The study of the water transport of Ukraine from 2002 to 2020 revealed that in this period there were significant structural changes in freight turnover and traffic, which indicates the presence of serious systemic problems in management. If current trends continue, the national economy may lose such a strategically important sector. The shortcomings in the field of international maritime transport are caused, among other things, by inefficient management of business processes of Ukrainian shipping companies. The business process of a shipping company is a set of interdependent tasks and works aimed at creating a product or service to meet the needs of their customers. The business processes of shipping companies are due to the characteristics of staff and the processes of international trade. Thus, the personnel of shipping companies, concentrated in the operational units, provide a range of services that ensure the movement of goods and passengers with the required level of quality. The complex of such services is described by many business processes and represents the main processes of the shipping company. Improving the business processes of these companies must be viewed through the prism of the field of logistics, the main factors in the development of which are staff and international trade trends. Research and study of international experience in the field of business process management and its implementation in the activities of shipping companies of Ukraine to some extent will improve the declining trends in freight traffic and water transport, which have been observed in recent years.

Abstract:
In the study, the authors have identified the dominant trends in the development of the international road transport services market. These include monopolization and protectionism, structural imbalances, namely, predominance of European transport companies in the international motor transport market, prevailing of private transport companies. Hence, the researchers determined the general vector of improvement of the motor transport services market in the modern stage of internationalization of global economic relations. The current trends in the development of the international road transport services market in Ukraine are substantiated. The authors propose a competitiveness assessment methodology for transport enterprises. It is proposed to quantify the following elements as part of the competitiveness coefficient of a transport enterprise: 1) the range of offered transportation services; 2) pricing policy; 3) advertising; 4) public relations; 5) sales system; 6) employee incentive system; 7) innovative activity of the enterprise. Using the proposed methodological approach will help making reasonable management decisions to improve the efficiency of transport enterprises, to expand the information base of economic research, and to improve the quality of analysis in the context of accelerated development of the international logistics infrastructure.

Abstract:
A brief overview of the development of warehouses, logistics and distribution centers in Germany and other foreign countries at the present stage is presented. Some general development trends associated with the implementation of the concept of the fourth industrial revolution are identified. The implementation of these requirements provides for deep digitalization and intellectualization of production processes, control systems and applied technologies. A key role in the new conditions belongs to the design of logistics facilities using modern modeling and virtual reality capabilities. The analysis of the latest projects of warehouses with varying degrees of automation up to automatic warehouses was carried out. Examples of projects are given and the features of the adopted technical solutions are noted. Recently, a number of new technologies and systems have been developed and implemented in warehouse logistics. Of particular interest are new technologies for picking orders in warehouses, because The requirements for this technology have changed significantly due to the intensive development of online electronic commerce. The number of orders is constantly growing, and the requirements for the duration of these operations are dictated downward. Robotization has recently taken an important place. Working in a pandemic with the requirements for the maximum possible reduction in the number of personnel has further increased the relevance and importance of using robots, in particular, collaborative ones, i.e. working together with the person. Considerable attention is paid to the use in industrial logistics of floor transport with vehicles that work without drivers.

Abstract:
Our modern era has brought about radical changes in the way courses are delivered and various teaching methods are being introduced to answer the purpose of meeting the modern learning challenges. On that account, the conventional way of teaching is giving place to a teaching method which combines conventional instructional strategies with contemporary learning trends. Thereby, a new course type has emerged, the blended course in the context of which online teaching and conventional instruction are efficiently mixed. This paper demonstrates a way to identify factors affecting students’ critical performance in blended courses through a binary logistics regression analysis on students’ engagement data. The binary logistics regression analysis has led to a risk model which identifies and prioritizes these factors in proportion to their contribution to the risk occurrence. The risk model is demonstrated in the context of two specific blended courses sharing the same learning design. Additionally, the outcome of the study has proved that factors related to the e-learning part have critically affected the students’ performance in the respective blended courses.

Abstract:
Environmental logistics has become the irreversible trend of logistics development in the future, and it is also an inevitable choice to promote the transformation of China's modern logistics industry. Regions that want to develop environmental logistics must scientifically evaluate the current status of environmental logistics development. This paper builds a regional environmental logistics evaluation system, horizontally compares the data of Hebei Province and 13 other provinces in 2017, and longitudinal evaluation of data from 2013 to 2017 in Hebei Province, and obtains the ranking of the development status of environmental logistics in Hebei Province and its development trend in the past five years. Based on the evaluation results, countermeasures and suggestions are proposed for improving the level of environmental logistics in Hebei Province, including increasing the comprehensive utilization rate of waste; reinforcing the investment in related fixed assets; reducing the energy consumption of the logistics industry; improving the operating mileage of public railways, and increasing the freight volume.
