Abstract:
Modern man is a one-dimensional society (one-dimensional man); meaning that all sides of his life are only directed at one goal, namely the sustainability and improvement of the existing system, the system is none other than capitalism. This paper tries to unravel the problems of learning activities in modern education in two perspectives, namely the psychological perspective and the philosophical perspective. This paper used qualitative research method. Western learning theory has dominated and has a great influence in the realm of socio-cultural politics as well as in education. In influencing or dominating education from a psychological perspective, there are at least 4 views on learning theory.

Abstract:
University endowments with broad portfolio diversification have been correlated with performance, but committees’ decision-making process has received relatively little attention. This study is unique in postulating that the committee’s learning commitment and open-mindedness are significant contributors to a decision process that is based on the principles of Modern Portfolio Theory (or, simply, Portfolio Theory). The use of Portfolio Theory as a decision-making framework leads to greater portfolio diversification, which, in turn, leads to higher risk-adjusted returns. This study also demonstrates that greater committee expertise across multiple asset classes contributes to more diversified portfolios.

Abstract:
Furniture, as a design element is an important part of design theory as well as design history. It has acted both as a part of the architectural context and individually in history. It reflects the context of the time, lifestyles, choice and behavior. The manifestation of modernism at the beginning of the 20th century can be indicated as a milestone regarding the whole history of furniture. However, when the history of furniture in Turkey during this time is analyzed, it is observed that one can only come across limited literature. Departing from this lack of historic writing and rewriting, a scientific research project, “DATUMM: Documenting and Archiving Turkish Modern Furniture”, was initiated based on exhibiting, documenting and archiving the history of modern furniture design in Turkey. The aim of this project is to highlight the modern furniture designed and produced in Turkey in the modern periods that can be defined as 1930’s “Cubism” or “Functional Architecture Period”, and the period of “International Style” in 1950s, 1960s and the 1970s. The sense of a comprehensive experience was needed to tell this story, and that is why it is composed of a variety of methods and related outcomes. With the array of outcomes planned to take its place in memory, the aim is to enable a remembered and developing process filled with significant moments to not only put together a collection, but to provide an inclusive impression. The methods and products -online archive, documentary film, catalog, colloquium, and exhibition work together to fulfill this aim. The first stage of the project has now been completed and has brought designers as well as furniture designs of the time together. The paper includes the assessment of the process, as well as the strategies for the future to enable the continuation of the success of the project. Keywords: Turkish modern furniture design, design heritage, design history, archiving, documentation, exhibition

Abstract:
This study aims to discuss modern sociolinguistic theory as the latest Arabic language learning model offering in the context of developing foreign languages in Indonesia. The results of the discussion are expected to expand scientific knowledge in the Arabic learning process in Indonesia. Some Arabic studies currently pay less attention to the study of Arabic culture. Formal learning in the classroom is just quiet theoretical learning of the language itself. Even though studying culture in language learning is very important to do. These two things are inseparable so both must be hand in hand. Everything that can be found in a language contains the culture of its language origin, as well as culture is one of the elements that can shape language. This is called macro linguistics, which is one of the scientific trends in examining issues in learning Arabic in Indonesia. For research design, this study uses a research library which operationally the library data the authors get from books and articles that have relevance to the subject matter. The stages of Arabic language learning based on sociolinguistic theory can be done through three stages, namely describing the concept of sociolinguistics, synchronizing sociolinguistic with teaching material, and implementing sociolinguistics in Arabic instruction. Thus, learning Arabic will be easier for students to understand. The results of the study reveal the results of a fantastic study.

Abstract:
Youth is a historical construction and an answer to a specific challenge of individualisation in biography. And, as a historical and social construction, youth has to be learned. This article focuses on youth development from an action or activity theory perspective and as a learning process. It demonstrates how different youth problems and forms of youth differentiation follow forms of youth learning. Moreover, it shows how late modern development creates the demand for a new non-formal learning perspective to secure the development of new forms of competence. Based on Danish research concerning peer learning as a non-formal learning context, some perspectives of peer-learning competence are discussed.

Abstract:
This article discusses the implementation of technologies of online learning in the mode of massive open online courses, namely, online classes, which are considered as a platform for distance learning and interactive communication between students and teacher. These technologies allow to provide the choice of content, rate, forms of work for students, to increase level of individualization and personification of education, to facilitate learning irrespective of place and time of being, to decrease subjectiveness of evaluation of learning results, to make the learning process more accessible. Theoretical foundations of connectivism are considered as a learning theory implementing the learning process on the basis of online information technologies. This approach changes the role of the teacher, who, acting as a tutor, regulates the pace and volume of students’ work, organizes the exchange of information, thereby creating a community. This article determines the reasons and features of creation of communities of teachers and students during studying in massive open online course. In the frames of this study, network community is considered as a group of students and teachers participating in interactive communication by means of network tools, social networks and messengers. This communication format allows to solve the problems of formation not only of subject but also of meta-subject results of learning, namely, communicative properties of students. The features of construction of communicative activity in these communities are exemplified by the course titled Preparing students for USE in mathematics (profile level), implemented in Volgograd State Socio-Pedagogical University on Miroznai platform. Examples of classes are discussed, each being devoted to solution to one of the task types presented in ESU in mathematics of profile level. Analysis of execution of tests proposed in the course demonstrates that the results of the considered students are somewhat higher than those of students studying in isolation.

Abstract:
For the greater part of the past 50 years, music educators have advocated for contemporary approaches to music education that reflect the interests of students. This has recently manifested in an approach to music education that scholars call Modern Band. Though the term lacks any one definition, Modern Band classes typically involve popular music making with guitars, drum set, electric bass, and keyboard. Among the features of this approach is a student-centered orientation that is focused on the individual learner. Additionally, Modern Band is rooted in informal music-learning theory, which easily lends itself to the inclusive principles of universal design for learning and differentiated instruction. Because of this, Modern Band may be a perfect fit for inclusive music classrooms.

Abstract:
Some Arabic learning at this time does not pay close attention to the study ofArabic culture. Learn in class only while learning theoretically calm languageitself. Meanwhile, discussions about culture in learning are carried out in importantways. This second thing can be done so that it must be done by going hand in hand.Everything that is found in language contains original culture, and so culture isone that language cannot make. Macrolinguistic has become one of the scientifictrends in studying the issue of learning Arabic in Indonesia. One of that dialogues inapplied linguistics is anthropolinguistics. That scientific interdiscipline is the resultof integration between culture and language. A significant relationship betweenlanguage and culture makes academics interested in formulating the framework,so that it can be used as a basis for language studies through culture or culturalstudies through language. In the modern era, anthropolinguistics has three theories, namely performance, indexicality, and participation. This paper examines howanthropolinguistic theory plays a role in learning Arabic in Indonesia, especiallywith regard to core competencies in it. This study uses a literature paradigm thatis operationally obtained by author from books and articles that have relevanceto the topic of discussion. Furthermore, the library data will be dialogue by theauthor systematically, objectively, and comprehensively. Analysis of the literaturethat has been done produce a synthesis that learning Arabic in the perspectiveof modern antropolinguis should consist of the following competencies, namelythe grammatical competence, communicative competence and pragmatic, andArabic language skills. From this theoretical study of anthropolinguistic learningbased Arabic, it can be synthesized that the anthropolinguistic theory in Arabiclearning has implications for its hard core in the learning process which cannot be denied at all. The hard core is related to the competencies that must be presentedby an Arabic learner, especially in Indonesia, namely grammatical competence, communicative and pragmatic competence, and Arabic language skills.

Abstract:
The article highlights one of the current trends in the development and optimization of modern education – taking into account the characteristics of each of the present generations and the use of such learning tools that reflect and embody these features. We are talking about both the didactic and technological features of the learning process (how to learn and train?), the most sensitive for each of the generations, and the semantic, essential aspects of the learning process (what and why learn and train?) that make the learning process itself relevant, meaningful, promising for each of the generations, not formally required. The result of such an approach to optimizing the learning process is to increase the effectiveness of both the learning process and the education system as a whole in each specific historical period in the development of society. Yes, of course, what is the modern Teacher and the modern Pupil today?

Abstract:
Emigration is translation. Written by Leo Spitzer in 1934, “Learning Turkish” offers a glimpse into the historical circumstances of his and other German academics' exile in Istanbul—an exile that plays a foundational role in comparative literature, as Erich Auerbach, Edward Said, Aamir Mufti, and Emily Apter have argued. Spitzer's attempt to analyze the characteristics of the Turkish language while that language was transforming amplifies recent critical attempts to understand “modern Turkey's nation-based and state-directed poiesis” (Yaeger 11). Bridging the gap between exile in Istanbul and the modern Turkish language, “Learning Turkish” introduces complexity to contemporary paradigms of global comparatism and identifies symptoms of literary studies' relocation to the context of a new nation-state; the article exemplifies the complicity between local nationalisms and cultural imperialisms and illuminates, on a personal level, how linguistic estrangement becomes a way of negotiating the experience of deportation, of emigration, and of the foreignness of adoptive cultures for Spitzer.

Abstract:
Bloom's Taxonomy is an operational verb (KKO) developed by Benyamin S. Bloom, with the aim of developing education which includes cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. The aim of this research is Bloom's Taxonomy Approach To Cognitive Space Using Classic Test Theory And Modern Theory. KKO is needed by a teacher, lecturer or facilitator or trainer to make a syllabus and Learning Implementation Plan (RPP). The Classical Theory Test is one of the test models that is still quite useful today which is still used in research to describe an error in measurement that can affect the observed score. This classical test theory is also an attempt to explain errors in a measurement. While the modern theory test is called the system analysis theory or open theory which combines classical and neoclassical theory. Modern organizational theory sees that all elements of an organization are interdependent and inseparable. The research method uses literature review, namely by collecting data techniques looking for materials from journals, books and from the internet (google, google scholar) and others. The results of the research show that data processing uses classical theory tests and modern theories, variations and modifications are obtained that can develop knowledge in the research field.

Abstract:
The paper describes the main stages and transitions in the unfolding of the Learning Activity which is reviewed within the framework of D.B. Elkonin and V.V. Davydov’s concepts about the meaning and content of education. The unfolding of teaching/learning is explained through the emergence of a joint action of teacher and students, that is, the Mediative Action. The concept of the Learning Task as a basis for constructing the general method of action, central to the system of D.B. Elkonin and V.V. Davydov, is also considered as a source of learning motivation. The learning task is seen as the distinct opposition between the search for the method of acting (possible scaffolds of acting) and the very achievement of the result, i.e. the opposition between the consideration (of situation) and the immediate achievement (of result), and, therefore, the opposition between the intriguing (interesting) and the required. The paper also focuses on the evolution of modeling as the evolution of sign mediation in the student’s activity. As the student progresses from understanding and configuring the model to using it as a means of acting, the model evolves. Having gained the function of the means, the model becomes a resource of possible action, and that is how the experience of acting appears before the student him/herself. The unfolding of the learning task and modeling is conceptualized as the correlation between functional genesis and ontogenesis.

Therefore, this effort must be implemented through the learning theory of the educational process according to the planned targets. This study examines the thoughts of one of the Indonesian figures, Syafei's learning theory, through his educational thought which gave birth in Kayutanam which was named Indonesische Nederlandsce School (INS). There are several basic aspects as the formulation of the problem in this research including, First, how the concept of learning theory was initiated by Mohammad Syafe'i. Second, how to actualize the concept of learning, especially in this modern era. The type of research is a literature study that is descriptive analysis, namely examining his thoughts through various books, journals, and references that are relevant to the research. In particular, the concept of learning theory at this time by looking at the learning theory of an educational figure from Indonesia before independence. By knowing the concept of the character's thinking about learning that is practiced, it is expected to be able to develop new concepts from old concepts in education. Educational needs are of paramount importance for educational institutions. We proposed a synergistic framework for combining the key elements of teaching and learning, with a flow theory approach that can induce the overall learning efficacy with an added value of sustaining the smart teaching and training environment. The given framework has various applications in the realms of technology, communication, and learning to help students adjust their learning needs and resolve any issues within the school system. There are positive outcomes to the proposed framework of minimal learning requirements, due to a more confident learning environment, that can allow for more advancement and academic success. Students cognitive ability and ability to learn can be improved via constant monitoring and analyzing of the student’s performance with software and technology (IoT). Figuring out how to build Internet of Things applications for the various student levels in one classroom is a challenging issue. The present article represents a mini-review and a reflective essay concerning modern medical education methods, as well as ways to adapt them to medical education's local conditions (disciplines), including basic medical sciences. We introduced Gagné's theory of learning and other theories – Constructivist, Experiential, and Humanistic – followed by Dennik's "twelve tips" for effective learning and Harden's ten questions for curriculum development. Outcome-based education (OBE) was discussed and related to relevant concepts within Miller's pyramid and Bloom's taxonomy. Harden's SPICES model was emphasized concerning education strategies while discussing the assessment of learning (AoL), assessment as learning (AaL), and assessment for learning (AfL). Finally, the authors advise exploring the adaptation of modern education methods for a specific discipline of basic medical sciences – Human Anatomy – by incorporating the abovementioned concepts and integrating different AfL and AaL assessment tools while conveying a graphical concept map for this scenario.

The point about a 'Scientific theorY' has traditionally been that it provides a 'guarantee of truth.' While it has, on the one hand, proved difficult to establish such theory within fields like work, organization and leadership, the growing competition and complexity facing most modern organizations makes for an increase in the demand for theory. The purpose of this contribution is to explore what functions theory can play in a context where people are looking for help to unravel complexity, give meaning to experience, make ordered comparisons possible and provide reference points for learning. When these become the primary functions, what happens to 'theory'?

Full text
Abstract:
This paper provides a conceptual foundation for stochastic duels and contains a further study of the game models based on the theory of stochastic duels. Some other combat assessment techniques are looked upon briefly; a modern outlook on the applications of the theory through video games is provided; and the possibility of usage of data generated by popular shooter-type video games is discussed. Impactful works to date are carefully chosen; a timeline of the developments in the theory of stochastic duels is provided; and a brief literature review for the same is conducted, enabling readers to have a broad outlook at the theory of stochastic duels. A new evaluation model is introduced in order to match realistic scenarios. Improvements are suggested and, additionally, a trust mechanism is introduced to identify the intent of a player in order to make the model a better fit for realistic modern problems. The concept of teaming of players is also considered in the proposed mode. A deep-learning model is developed and trained on data generated by video games to support the results of the proposed model. The proposed model is compared to previously published models in a brief comparison study. Contrary to the conventional stochastic duel game combat model, this new proposed model deals with pair-wise duels throughout the game duration. This model is explained in detail, and practical applications of it in the context of the real world are also discussed. The approach toward solving modern-day problems through the use of game theory is presented in this paper, and hence, this paper acts as a foundation for researchers looking forward to an innovation with game theory.

Abstract:
This research paper attempts to have an in-depth understanding of PAD (presentation-assimilation-discussion) teaching methodology applied in a modern Chinese college course, which is College English Writing class, from the perspective of the Grounded Theory. Based on a detailed introduction and analysis of the Grounded Theory, this research makes efforts to answer such a question that how PAD teaching methodology is applied in modern Chinese College English Writing class as well as how it helps Chinese college students learn in their College English Writing class. The PAD teaching methodology in modern Chinese College English Writing class is a new type of teaching mode, being divided into three processes: presentation, assimilation and discussion (which is the co-called PAD). The key innovation in the PAD teaching methodology in modern Chinese College English Writing class is to stagger the lectures and discussions in time, so that students have a week time for personalized assimilation, which mobilizes students’ interest in learning, promotes students’ enthusiasm, cultivates students’ learning autonomy, and improves the quality of the teaching of College English Writing class. As a qualitative research, this paper employs methods of literature synthesis and comparative analysis to reach such a conclusion that PAD teaching methodology does help and facilitate modern Chinese college students in their learning of College English Writing class. An important perspective from the Grounded Theory has provided a strong support to further verify the necessary role that PAD teaching methodology has played in modern Chinese College English Writing class.

Abstract:
<p><em>This article focuses on the theory of German philosopher and literature critic Walter Benjamin (1892-1940) on the role of children</em><em>’</em><em>s literature and the degree by which his aesthetical theory, as expressed in the early 20th century, may be applied in modern education. Particularly in preschool ages, children’s literature plays a defining role in children</em><em>’</em><em>s development, stimulating learning memory and providing the foundations for the child</em><em>’</em><em>s perception of the world around him/her. Children</em><em>’</em><em>s literature and illustrations of children’s books, introduce children in learning and writing. In his theory, Benjamin describes how literature, and in particular the magic perceived by children’s mentality in fairytale, can and should be an integral part of education that does not apply standardized pedagogic norms or psychological interpretations, but promotes the way in which the child observes the world, imagination and intuitive perception.</em></p>

Abstract:
There are two majorities of thought in the process of language learning and acquisition. They are behaviorist and mentalist theory. The behaviorist theory is based on psychological aspects of learners in their habit formation while the mentalists come with the new approach called Language Acquisition Device (LAD) that used in the process of learning. In Modern Islamic Boarding School the term of language environment is used as the process of foreign language learning in which students communicate one another by using the foreign languages, but they are also forced to learn their structures and systems in the classes. The researcher used ethnography and narrative study to gain the data, he observed the phenomenon directly to the one most prominent Modern Islamic Boarding School located in East Java and interviewed with the responsible teacher for language development, in conclusion, both theories are used by Modern Islamic Boarding School in the process of language learning.DOI: doi.org/10.24071/ijiet.2019.030106

Abstract:
Improvements in the clinical management of anorexia nervosa (AN) are urgently needed. To do so, the search for innovative approaches continues at laboratory and clinical levels to translate new findings into more effective treatments. In this sense, modern learning theory provides a unifying framework that connects concepts, methodologies and data from preclinical and clinical research to inspire novel interventions in the field of psychopathology in general, and of disordered eating in particular. Indeed, learning is thought to be a crucial factor in the development/regulation of normal and pathological eating behaviour. Thus, the present review not only tries to provide a comprehensive overview of modern learning research in the field of AN, but also follows a transdiagnostic perspective to offer testable explanations for the origin and maintenance of pathological food rejection. This narrative review was informed by a systematic search of research papers in the electronic databases PsycInfo, Scopus and Web of Science following PRISMA methodology. By considering the number and type of associations (Pavlovian, goal-directed or habitual) and the affective nature of conditioning processes (appetitive versus aversive), this approach can explain many features of AN, including why some patients restrict food intake to the point of life-threatening starvation and others restrict calorie intake to lose weight and binge on a regular basis. Nonetheless, it is striking how little impact modern learning theory has had on the current AN research agenda and practice.

Abstract. The skill of current predictions of the warm phase of the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) reduces significantly beyond a lag time of 6 months. In this paper, we aim to increase this prediction skill at lag times of up to 1 year. The new method combines a classical autoregressive integrated moving average technique with a modern machine learning approach (through an artificial neural network). The attributes in such a neural network are derived from knowledge of physical processes and topological properties of climate networks, and they are tested using a Zebiak–Cane-type model and observations. For predictions up to 6 months ahead, the results of the hybrid model give a slightly better skill than the CFSv2 ensemble prediction by the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP). Interestingly, results for a 12-month lead time prediction have a similar skill as the shorter lead time predictions.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the image of the modern informational and educational environment, taking into account the participation of different generations. The works of modern scientists and practitioners who investigate various aspects related to the impact of information and communication technologies on the current generation of pupils and students are analyzed. Studies analyzing the overall statistics on the use of information and communication technologies (hereafter ICT) up to the impact of these technologies on the human brain and the creation of new learning strategies are taken into account. The authors analyzed Generation Z in detail, providing the characteristics of the generation that is now being studied, by researchers from different countries. The comparative table shows the positive and negative qualities of representatives of Generation Z.Research analysis shows that the psychological readiness of both students and teachers to use information and communication technologies effectively should be taken into account when planning collaborative work in an information and education environment. Distance learning, which is increasingly used in higher education institutions, entails the need for careful analysis of how to create educational material and how to organize work with students. Accordingly, teachers are expected to take different approaches to teaching Generation Z students. Modern students expect an individual approach to learning. It is important to know where you can find relevant information and how to apply it in practice. At the same time, the article emphasizes that during the distance education of students, the role of the teacher in the didactic process is even more significant than in traditional education.Based on the analyzed sources, the article concludes that the urgent need of today is to create a new model of information and educational environment, which, taking into account changes in society and in the minds of students, will allow the qualitative use of the creative potential of information and communication technologies, without giving up other forms of knowledge acquisition and competence formation.

Abstract:
Gradient descent (GD) and stochastic gradient descent (SGD) are the workhorses of large-scale machine learning. While classical theory focused on analyzing the performance of these methods in convex optimization problems, the most notable successes in machine learning have involved nonconvex optimization, and a gap has arisen between theory and practice. Indeed, traditional analyses of GD and SGD show that both algorithms converge to stationary points efficiently. But these analyses do not take into account the possibility of converging to saddle points. More recent theory has shown that GD and SGD can avoid saddle points, but the dependence on dimension in these analyses is polynomial. For modern machine learning, where the dimension can be in the millions, such dependence would be catastrophic. We analyze perturbed versions of GD and SGD and show that they are truly efficient—their dimension dependence is only polylogarithmic. Indeed, these algorithms converge to second-order stationary points in essentially the same time as they take to converge to classical first-order stationary points.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to scrutinise the potentials and challenges of variation theory when adopting learning study in Austrian initial EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teacher education. Design/methodology/approach – Based on a hermeneutic and epistemological approach, projects, and publications employing variation theory in the context of EFL are critically evaluated. Findings – Variation theory and learning study turn out to have great potential for EFL teaching and learning in Austria. However, three critical issues need further conceptual and empirical research before new learning cycles can be implemented and evaluated: the object of learning, the SLA-variation theory interface, and the roles of variation theory on different educational levels. Originality/value – By identifying and discussing important critical issues within the current practice of variation-theory-oriented EFL teaching, this study could lead to further theoretical and empirical deliberations in various areas of modern language teaching. This in turn could help pave the way for both the development of theoretical underpinning and methodological refinement, ultimately fostering international co-operations in implementing learning cycles.
