Abstract:
Discussions about “new forms of knowledge-production” refer to purportedly fundamental changes in the organization of science. A closer look reveals that these changes pertain to a particular sector of science, i.e. policy-related fields. It is suggested that a better understanding of the kind and scope of changes would be achieved by viewing them as resulting from a “scientification” of society and a correlate “politicization” of science, both of which processes signify the emergence of the knowledge society. Ironically, the “finalization thesis”, which foresaw much of this two decades ago, met with opposition, while the new claims were embraced. This is explained by the context of legitimation

Abstract:
In SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) Level 2, the driver has to monitor the traffic situation and system performance at all times, whereas the system assumes responsibility within a certain operational design domain in SAE Level 3. The different responsibility allocation in these automation modes requires the driver to always be aware of the currently active system and its limits to ensure a safe drive. For that reason, current research focuses on identifying factors that might promote mode awareness. There is, however, no gold standard for measuring mode awareness and different approaches are used to assess this highly complex construct. This circumstance complicates the comparability and validity of study results. We thus propose a measurement method that combines the knowledge and the behavior pillar of mode awareness. The latter is represented by the relational attention ratio in manual, Level 2 and Level 3 driving as well as the controllability of a system limit in Level 2. The knowledge aspect of mode awareness is operationalized by a questionnaire on the mental model for the automation systems after an initial instruction as well as an extensive enquiry following the driving sequence. Further assessments of system trust, engagement in non-driving related tasks and subjective mode awareness are proposed.

Abstract:
Increasingly, today’s vehicles offer Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Level 2 (L2) technology, and a limited number of SAE Level 3 (L3) automated driving systems (ADSs) are being developed. Since L3 ADSs can operate in L2 and manual driving, drivers’ correct mode awareness is essential. To investigate driver’s mode awareness after transitions between modes, an on-road experiment was conducted using a Wizard-of-Oz method to simulate Assisted Driving (L2-like) and Automated Driving (L3/L4-like). A total of 36 drivers completed the on-road experiment. Participants experienced periods of manual driving, assisted driving, automated driving, and transitions between these modes. After each transition, participants’ mode awareness was measured. It was hypothesized that drivers’ mode awareness would increase with system exposure over the planned automated driving periods. Results showed that drivers exhibited declarative mode awareness during both Assisted (ASD) and Automated Driving (AD) modes.

Abstract:
Nowadays, lifestyle change is one of the problems of the new world economic order, and the procedures of feeding, purchasing, preparation, and the storage of food products, are forcing authorities to establish more rigorous methods concerning the control of food quality and safety. Owing quality in the agro-food sector is a complex and global issue, due to the distance between production and final consumption, as well as the new demands of society on food. Contributing to the bacteria minimization during their path in the supply chain, the objective of this research is the use of an UV-C LED artificial lighting system with emission in continuous light (CL) and two of pulsed light (Mode 1 and Mode 2) for fresh products’ disinfection. A mathematical model is introduced as a reference to establish the equivalence dose of continuous and pulsed UV-C LED irradiation. The doses applied were 5, 15, and 25 mJ cm−². The configured parameters per each technique were the irradiance, time also the frequency (500 Hz), and duty cycle (30, 50, and 80%) for Mode 1 and Mode 2. The germicidal effect (GE), energy consumption, and effective germicidal effect (EGE), were evaluated for the different techniques. According to the results, the technique Mode 1 was the best in the GE with 1.06 ± 0.01 and 1.08 ± 0.01 Log reduction by 25 mJ cm−2 at 30 and 80% duty cycle, correspondingly. The CL and Mode 1 showed an outstanding performance with the EGE. Finally, Mode 1 reduced 11% in energy and the GE is comparable with CL. The pulsed light technique Mode 1 constitutes a powerful method against the microorganism’s destruction and a strategy for saving energy during the treatment. The UV-C LEDs proved to be an excellent alternative in the disinfection of fresh products with pulsed light emission in the real process.

Abstract:
Despite the many historical events during the year 2020, this period of time will forever be remembered as the year of COVID-19. Since its onset in November 2019, The Sars-CoV-2 has made an enormous impact across all aspects of society across the entire world. Globally as of July 5th, 2021, there have been 184000000 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which tragically include 3980000 deaths. Sars-CoV-2 is spread through the respiratory system with the primary modes of transmission being aerosol, respiratory droplets, and direct contact. It is of great importance to understand that one of the primary modes of transmission, the aerosol (bioaerosol) mode is a mode that is omnipresent in most dental settings. To prevent dissemination of disease in American dental offices, the CDC and the ADA have developed strict protocols for dental care providers to follow. Protocols include case selection, protective equipment (PPE), Covid testing, procedure risk stratification, and reduction of aerosols. Laser-assisted dentistry has been identified as a potential key modality in the reduction of bio aerosols.

Abstract:
In 2001 the academic advisory council for global environmental changes published the social contract for the big transformation. They demand a worldwide sustainable change in economics and society. Transdisciplinary research (TDR) should support the transformation e.g. by participatory research, learning and knowledge production for successful real-world-projects and knowledge sharing by transformative education. Particularly in connection with the demand for a third mission in universities, the major transformation of the society and the pursuit of sustainable development, it might surprise there is still no balance between Mode-2-Science, which TDR is a part of, and the monodisciplinary Mode-1-Science. In literature various examples of a punctual or in part project-accompanying evaluation of TDR can be found, but however, the crucial long-term consequences of these projects are often not taken into consideration here - although they are required by many authors. Regarding the increasing importance of a third mission for universities, an increase in the meaning of TDR projects is expected. Therefore, new tools and methods are needed. In this paper an evaluation model is presented and applied that enables a project-related evaluation of TDR as well as sustainable third mission projects. The first use of the evaluation model and the quality criteria for research are presented and discussed. Abstract:
The equality of gender is accounted to be an indispensable element when it comes to sustainable transportation infrastructure planning in an inclusive society. Special attention in this regard must be required to reach the growing transportation demands of the urban population- especially in a developing country like Bangladesh. In this inclusive society, females constitute a major portion of the students as well as the workforce and contribute significantly to the economy. Although females have to rely on the different modes available in the existing transportation system for their day-to-day travel, they have different preferences among the alternative modes in terms of accessibility and safety. To assess the travel behavior of female students, this study explores the elements those influence travel choices (travel cost, travel time, security, and comfort) and evaluates the effect of ride-sharing facilities on their choice of mode. Data were collected from 360 female university students through an online questionnaire. The research focuses on two divisions of female students: staying at the residence hall (residents) and not staying at the residence hall (non-residents). Descriptive and inferential statistical methods were utilized to explain female travel behaviors and determine the importance of ridesharing services in their mode selection (rickshaw, bus, autorickshaw, bicycle, private car, and ridesharing). The study reveals that female students (both resident and non-resident) prefer rickshaws over other modes and the inception of ride-sharing services had a consequential effect on their choice of modes and travel behavior. This analysis will deliver beneficial information to relevant authorities and policymakers in evaluating existing transportation systems and will indicate the required mitigations that can be made to ensure social equity. Abstract:
This study was designed (1) to test Marx’s theoretical statements on the nature of dominant ideas in a society by investigating the character of scholarly practices in academic publishing, and (2) to demonstrate the falseness of claims about Marx’s disinterest in communication by presenting and evaluating his writings on communication. The study combines quantitative and qualitative methods for data collection and analysis. It has two study populations and multiple samples. The first one includes the articles in communication journals cited by Thomson Reuters’ Social Sciences Citation Index. The second one contains all writings of Marx on communication. The findings indicate that (1) the articles are mostly functional to the ruling interests, (2) they mostly exclude Marx and critical issues that question the ruling material and immaterial mode and relations in communication and society, (3) most alternative approaches are controlled alternatives and overtly or covertly directed against Marx’s method and explanations. Regarding Marx’s interest in communication, contrary to the claims that he had no or minimal interest, Marx provided invaluable explanations about communication. Hence communication scholars should pay close attention if they want to understand the nature and function of communication in society and social change.

Abstract:
Facing enormous pressure from the rapid growth of waste on the environment and society, many developed countries have combined urban waste recycling systems with waste classification to reduce pollution and recycle resources. However, this technique is not well established in developing countries. From the 2000s, China has carried out many waste classification recycling projects in many pilot cities although they have yet to reach widespread success. This paper focuses on China’s Newest Waste Classification Recycling Project (NWCRP), which was first implemented in Shanghai from 2019 and has a three-echelon supply chain containing waste classification guiders (WCGs), recyclers and demanders. Firstly, two recycling modes in NWCRP are studied: the recyclers of the first mode are dominated by the recycling company (mode RC), and the recyclers of the second mode are dominated by the environmental sanitation engineering group (mode ESEG). Secondly, a reward–penalty policy is proposed, which can be implemented for WCGs or different recyclers in the two modes (RC or ESEG), and the impacts of different scenarios are also compared. The results showed that (1) with increasing reward–penalty intensity, the sorting rate and the profit show upward trends in two modes, while the subsidy efficiency of government decreases; (2) when the reward–penalty policy is implemented for WCGs, the recyclers’ recycling price decreases in the two modes; (3) all scenarios that implement the reward–penalty policy in mode RC have certain advantages in the sorting rate and profit and (4) with increasing reward–penalty intensity and target sorting rate in the reward–penalty policy, the social welfare first increases and then decreases in all scenarios. Finally, some suggestions on the recycling mode and the reward–penalty policy for establishing a 3RW recycling system are provided.

Abstract:
With the continuous development of society, the cooperation of different dimensions is urgently needed. Analysis and modeling of team cooperation model and performance evaluation are especially important for competitive sport. In this paper, a football team’s attacking mode and the team performance were assessed using network science methodologies. The match process was analyzed by using the data of Team A (given in the form of attachment due to excessive file size) and the method of complex network science. Each player was regarded as a node in the network, and the interaction among players was considered as the connection to the network. This method directly reflected the favorable formation of the team and the interaction frequency among members. Then, a team performance evaluation model was established using the backpropagation neural network (BPNN) and the uncrossed analytic hierarchy process (U-AHP) method based on the factors including the number of passes and successful pass rate. The team performance was comprehensively rated from two levels: member and team level. Analysis from established models indicated that Team A had a higher probability of winning when using the “4-4-2” offensive strategy and performance evaluation analysis indicated that more passes and higher pass success rates were more beneficial to win the game. Following the model developed in this study, some suggestions were given from the perspectives of team strategy, attack mode, cooperation, and incentive mode.

Abstract:
The subject of this research is the historical prerequisites of formation of the modern Russian model of state administration with its enormous corruption component. Analysis is conducted on the sociopolitical processes that took place in Russia, since the origin of conception of its statehood (formation of the Grand Duchy of Vladimir) until the events of past decade. A wide variety of literature of the Russian and foreign authors dedicated to the historical and institutional aspects of formation of national and foreign statehood became the source base for this research. An attempt is made to determine the fundamental factors of the emergence and wide spread of various manifestations of corruption at all stages of existence of the Russian state. A conclusion is made that drastic reconstruction of the historically established in Russia model of relationship between the government and society, and thus, decline in the scale of corruption, are possible only under the condition of formation of a large social coalition that supports: 1) the expansion of pluralistic basis in creation and development of the mode of operation of political institutions; 2) further public control over their activity. The reference point of such processes can become only a historical situation, which marks an informed need of broad social circles to be able to fully exercise political rights, and simultaneous response to such request from the acting political elite.

This paper begins with a brief description of the prevailing standby methods and their drawback of having to rely on the municipal mains supply at all times and wasting electrical energy. It then proceeds to elaborate on the energy conservation principle of the optical energy wait-up technology, which has been granted a national utility model patent (No. ZL 2011 2 0489460.7). The elaboration is focused on the working principle and process of the changeover of the power supply of the device from the grid to an optical battery while it is in standby mode, as well as on the basis for the choice of components. This utility model consumes energy in milliwatts and has practical value for energy conservation and emission reduction. Its commercialization is expected to contribute significantly to energy conservation in the entire society.

Abstract:
AbstractThe world's arrival into the era of knowledge is changing the perception of the role of science and technology in society. A good part of the scientific production appears to be linked to the needs of the global market. However, in the past few years, attempts at new forms of “doing science” have appeared throughout the globe that were very different from the current trends. Although these new forms share some characteristics that resemble those of “Mode 2,” as generally defined by Gibbons and associates in 1994, they differ drastically in the sense that they really are more socially accountable (i.e., at the grassroots level). These modes responded to a need for making scientific research more participative, more socially responsible, incorporating not only the scientists in the decision-making process but also those who have a stake in the results. In this paper, these path-breaking efforts of doing research in two Latin American countries are discussed and a comparison is made with the characteristics of Mode 2. Both cases are strongly based on the New Information and Communication Technologies (NICT). It is concluded that some segments of societies are concerned with the consequences of scientific research and are putting into practice alternative models that confront the current global trend. These models merit broader awareness and approach.

Abstract:
Direct and bloody violence has a long history on stage. In recent years, a different mode of violence can be distinguished in the work of prominent American playwrights – less direct than indirect, more covert than overt, and likely to affect a group rather than individuals. In this article Russell Vandenbroucke applies concepts from Norwegian sociologist and Peace Studies scholar Johan Galtung to examine structural and cultural violence in Suzan-Lori Parks's Father Comes Home from the Wars (Parts 1, 2, & 3) and traces similar representations of violence in Anna Deavere Smith's Fires in the Mirror, Tony Kushner's Angels in America, Lynn Nottage's Ruined, Ayad Aktar's Disgraced, The Laramie Project by Moisés Kauffman and the Tectonic Theater Project, and Tim Robbins's adaptation of Dead Man Walking by Sr Helen Prejean. These writers have in common the status of traditional outsiders – black, female, gay, Muslim – and this informs their engagement in the social and political vitality of the stage. The shift in focus of these plays from direct violence echoes observations in Steven Pinker's recent The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence Has Declined. Russell Vandenbroucke is Professor of Theatre Arts at the University of Louisville and Director of its Peace, Justice, and Conflict Transformation programme. He previously served as Artistic Director of Chicago's Northlight Theatre. His publications include Truths the Hand Can Touch: the Theatre of Athol Fugard and numerous articles on South African theatre.

This paper seeks to explore the potential of developing a distinct vegan mode of reading. It uses the increasing incidence of anthropomorphic canine companion animals in the contemporary Hollywood romantic comedy as a starting point, focusing on close readings of the filmsMarley and MeandLegally Blonde 2: Red White and Blonde. An analysis of the increasing incidence of domestic dogs in the romantic comedy is shown to have significance for examining social and cultural anxieties around how veganism, as the rejection of animal exploitation of any kind, might challenge the rigid human-animal divide that defines contemporary society. Building an analysis that seeks to explore the latent speciesism of popular cinema and noting how this relates specifically to the representation of vegan identity, within a genre noted for its muting and denigration of queer identity, this paper seeks to situate veganism as a radical queer mode of being.

Abstract:
In the mid-2000s, banks competed for leadership in the growth of new points of sale of services. Today, the positive for the bank is the closure of branches with a minimum physical presence in the administrative territory, while without reducing the number of clients. The purpose of the article is to analyze the situation in Ukraine on reforming network banks regarding their presence outside the head office, the possibility of maintaining branches in the structure of the bank (points of sale). The dynamics of the share of cash and non-cash transactions carried out by bank customers has been assessed. It was revealed that the expansion of the payment infrastructure and the network where payment cards are used affects the further fate of bank branches. During the quarantine period, under the influence of digitalization, the physical workload of on banks branches decreased due to the fact that today they (branches) are not the only points of sale of banking services. At the same time, most of the new functions arising from the digitalization of banking processes can be performed by the central offices of the bank. The popularity of internet acquiring is growing rapidly, the advantages of which are the speed of the operation, the absence of the need for the physical use of the payment card itself, the absence of the need for a POS terminal in the store, the possibility of making payments in 24/7 mode. The current trends in banking activity indicate that face-to-display and display-to-display communication will completely replace the modern understanding of banks. In the future, there will be new ways to store your own resources, for example, storage in “cloud technologies”; plastic cards will physically disappear, which will be replaced by tokens; cash will remain at a minimum level (within 2-5% of the amount of non-cash payments), which will be dealt with by SIT companies; lending will switch to P2P mode.

Abstract:
Modern industrial society is characterized by the growing threat of accidents and catastrophes caused by the human factor. This is a very broad concept. It includes many aspects of human interaction with the technogenic environment, including the probability of operator errors caused by the instability of his psychophysiological state, which is incompatible with the strict technological regulations. At the shift work, this instability is often caused by disturbances in the physiological rhythm of sleep — wakefulness followed by a biological conflict between the forced activity and certain phases of the natural circadian rhythm in the cognitive structures of the brain. This situation known for thy night shift modes can also occur in the evening shift modes. However, the influence of the «day — evening» mode on the psychophysiological state of the shift workers is studied to a lesser extent. The objective of this study was to identify the dynamics of the psychophysiological state of the employees of a certain «model» collective of the paint and varnish shop of the automobile plant, working in the shift mode «5 days — 2 days off — 5 evenings». Test persons were tested immediately after the 1st, 3rd and 5th shifts using a questionnaire describing their self-assessment ranked in points according to four categories (scales). Mathematical analysis of the results revealed a weak trend towards a decrease in the psychological indicators during the daytime work week, but a strong and statistically significant decrease in the evening shifts in relation to the daytime. Thus, the investigated rotational mode of work causes an increasing deterioration in the employee state in the evening shifts, which creates a risk of the impact of the psychogenic human factor on the occupational safety.

Abstract:
The paper intends to show how the IC principles, developed mainly for companies over the last two decades, can be applied as well to Universities and Research Institutions. Firstly, it explores recent theoretical backgrounds which affect Universities, such as the “Mode 2” of Knowledge production and the Triple Helix Model. Secondly it analyses how similar objectives and procedures are when managing intangibles in both companies and Universi- ties. Then it examines whether the structure of IC reporting in companies may be useful for Universities, providing some examples for Europe, and how the harmonization and external control principles are relevant for public institutions. The main conclusion is that IC principles can broadly apply to Universities and that reporting on their IC would be beneficial for them and the society as a whole, which provides the rationale for public intervention.

AbstractDifferent destinies of particular countries and nonexistence of warranted economic and social prosperity are explained by two paradigms: geographical and institutional one. Geographical paradigm insists upon the significance of physical geography, climate, ecology, that shape technology and individual behaviour. Institutional paradigm attributes the central role of institutions which promote investment in human, physical capital and technology. These two approaches have their roots in: 1. Traditional society theory (Theory of Asiatic mode of production): differences in traditional societies of each country explain their different growth rates and level of economic development, and 2. World system theory: only countries that escaped colonial status have a chance to develop.

Abstract:
Characteristics such as ‘acquaintance society’ and ‘differential mode of association’ have been widely acknowledged as unique features of Chinese rural societies. However, quantitative evidence of these characteristics is not found in the literature. Applying methods in social network analysis, this paper presents a quantitative study of the social structure of Chinese villages. We measure various network statistics and topological properties of these villages using detailed data on major social relationships (including kinship, house neighbourhood, land plot neighbourhood and political relationships) in 10 rural villages located in central China. In this way, we provide a quantitative description of the structural characteristics of Chinese villages and quantitative evidence for some widely acknowledged features. Our findings are threefold: (1) the networks of Chinese villages are densely connected and highly decentralised; (2) the networks are typical small-world networks, referred to in network research as ‘acquaintance societies’; (3) individuals form neighbourhood ties according to the closeness of existing kinship ties, which corroborates the feature of ‘differential mode of association’.

Abstract:
This article is devoted to the consideration of the current, promising, dynamically developing issue - the transformation of the existing social order to the next level of development - into a trans-industrial society, the economic basis of which is the emerging sixth technological structure. The article analyzes the trends in the transformation of society, and its activation processes associated with the pandemic of the coronavirus infection COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, their most significant consequences and the most likely further directions of the development of events. The main features, trends, risks, prospects, changes in the social structure that accompany this process, and, accordingly, its educational aspects, are reviewed. In particular, the article reveals the aspect of a significantly increased demand for distance education and the platforms that can provide it. Another of the revealed aspects is the main problem common to different countries - the crisis, which consists in the formation of a new post-global world, which implies the cessation of the free movement of capital, labor, goods and services, which began to form in the mid-2010s and accelerated as a result of the pandemic and related with her restrictive measures. This problem consists in the growing discrepancy between the Bologna system of education and the needs of the post-global world, when the product of the educational system is “a citizen of a democratic globalized society, consumer economy”. In the same context, the tendencies of the formation of the sixth technological mode in the world according to the main markers are examined: the robotization of many spheres of human life, the development of the digital economy, the development and spread of additive technologies, and, as a result, the necessary objective changes in the education system. These changes imply the transformation of the education system into preparing and receiving an education containing the basic knowledge, skills and competencies of professions that will be relevant in the near future. This should be based on engineering, robotics, digital and additive technologies based on natural-mathematical disciplines and cognitive sciences of the socio-humanitarian direction. The directions of further research on this topic are suggested, implying an operational assessment of the necessary changes in the education system, their detailing, and ensuring their practical implementation in modern conditions.

Abstract:
To evaluate the stability and compactness of high-temperature underground construction, it is necessary to test the fracture toughness of surrounding rock (red sandstone) under real-time high temperature. In this paper, SCB specimens recommended by the International Society for Rock Mechanics are used to measure the mode I fracture toughness of red sandstone at real-time high temperatures. Also, to reveal its fracture characteristics and fracture mechanism, the fracture morphology observation (SEM experiment), XRD experiment, mercury intrusion porosimetry testing, and fractal measurement of fracture trajectory are carried out on the red sandstone specimens at various temperatures. The results show that (1) temperature may have a significant impact on the fracture toughness and fracture characteristics of red sandstone. On the whole, the fracture toughness values decrease with the increase in temperature, while the fractal dimensions of fractal trajectories increase with the increase in temperature. (2) Temperature has a significant influence on the fracture mode of red sandstone. At relatively low temperatures (20°C–400°C), the main fracture mode is transgranular failure. At relatively high temperatures (400°C–700°C), the fracture mode is mainly intergranular failure. (3) The weakening mechanism of red sandstone is mainly due to the effect of thermal dehydration when the temperature is between 100°C and 400°C. When the temperature is between 400°C and 700°C, the weakening mechanism is mainly due to thermal cracking and the α-β phase transition of quartz.

Abstract:
Using a regionally focused national survey of parents with 4–6-month-olds (N = 2, 250), we addressed associations between musical experience and the frequency and content of playing music and singing for infants. The possible mediation of a classical CD distribution to new parents in hospitals was also investigated. Five variables of experience were considered: (1) respondents' recollections of their mother or (2) father singing to them, (3) playing an instrument, (4) singing in a choir, and (5) taking music lessons. Chi-square analyses indicated that musical experience was highly associated with increased frequency of playing and singing. The content of what was played and sung was less uniformly linked, and revealed individual profiles for each mode of formal experience. Differences were found between those who did and those who did not receive the CD. Results support a systems view of the child in the context of families and society, and have implications about indirect effects of music education.

Rapid technological progress, and followed ultimate social trends promote a more collaborative mode of doing business. In fact, traditional idea of marketing has fundamentally upgraded to a new level with the ascension of innovative technologies. The opportunities enabled through modern technologies and social media (i.e. Internet, social networking, and smart technologies) increased the ease and scale of information exchange (sharing) to a global level. This movement can be viewed as the result of the digitalization of the global society from one side, and socialization of the Internet from the other side. The analysis of the relevant literature indicates that the development of the innovative marketing is influenced by two major factors: (1) technological progress (the growth of digital and social media); (2) the crucial and influential role of content.

Abstract:
The growing awareness of the importance of accurate morphometry in lung research has recently motivated the publication of guidelines set forth by a combined task force of the American Thoracic Society and the European Respiratory Society ( 20 ). This official ATS/ERS Research Policy Statement provides general recommendations on which stereological methods are to be used in quantitative microscopy of the lung. However, to integrate stereology into a particular experimental study design, investigators are left with the problem of how to implement this in practice. Specifically, different animal models of human lung disease require the use of different stereological techniques and may determine the mode of lung fixation, tissue processing, preparation of sections, and other things. Therefore, the present companion articles were designed to allow a short practically oriented introduction into the concepts of design-based stereology (Part 1) and to provide recommendations for choosing the most appropriate methods to investigate a number of important disease models (Part 2). Worked examples with illustrative images will facilitate the practical performance of equivalent analyses. Study algorithms provide comprehensive surveys to ensure that no essential step gets lost during the multistage workflow. Thus, with this review, we hope to close the gap between theory and practice and enhance the use of stereological techniques in pulmonary research.

Abstract:
Standardisation is fundamental to ensuring that new technologies develop and grow unhindered by manufacturer-led standards. Dismissing this vital issue can have a detrimental effect on society regarding adopting new technologies, particularly when government targets and regulations are crucial for their success. We have witnessed competing global industries struggle for dominance, such as Betamax versus VHS, where each had a similar user outcome, but the confusion of differing formats slowed growth. We analyse emerging standards for electric vehicle rapid charging and investigate how standardisation challenges affect stakeholders by reviewing the existing literature on single-mode and polymodal harmonisation. By assimilating existing evidence, we then develop a new understanding of the science behind multi-model standardisation (MMS) approaches. Our literature review reveals three primary standardisation issues: (1) charge connections, (2) car to charger communication protocols, and (3) charge payment methods. We then analyse each mode type’s benefit, observing how each example contributes to the overall outcome, and suggest that their impact depends on car to charger handshake timing and intuitive user interaction. Using a structured survey of 282 respondents, we analyse end-user satisfaction for factors affecting growth in the EV sector and compare these findings with the factors identified during our literature review. We consequently articulate a programme for future research to understand EV rapid charger standardisation better, proposing recommendations for vested stakeholders that embrace sponsors in societal, technological and scientific transformation.

Abstract:
The broad question that interests this article is how does one read and compare the negotiations public and private universities are making with the neo-liberal paradigm of knowledge production with reference to their social science curricula. Michael Apple’s (1993, Teachers College Records, 95(2), 222–241; 2001, Currículo Sem Fronteiras, 1(1), i–xxvi) argument that curriculum is not a ‘neutral assemblage of knowledge’ but a crafted vision of ‘legitimate knowledge’ produced by hegemonic powers within society forms the theoretical foundation for this article. To understand the changes within a university’s academic practice, this article analyses and compares the undergraduate and postgraduate sociology curricula of two public universities (Delhi University and Ambedkar University), an international university (South Asian University) and one private university (Shiv Nadar University), as well as engages with its practitioners to assess the everyday within these universities. The undergraduate and postgraduate sociology curricula across public and private universities indicate certain convergences in their academic approaches. The universities in question encouraged foreign university collaborations, reframed the course structure to strengthen the university-industry linkages and increased the employability of the students. Interdisciplinary and contemporary papers are offered through new modes of pedagogy. The mode of assessment also focus on writing research papers/dissertations and frequent visits to the field to develop an application-based approach to learning. The neoliberal paradigm of knowledge production affected the convergence of academic practices of public and private universities despite difference in governance structure. This convergence problematises the meaning of ‘public’ in a liberalised, privatised and globalised society.

Abstract:
Conflict is a potential of individual or group tension in multicultural societies because of their different perspectives and objectives between them. Conflict can be resulted from a simple problem to a complex problem. Conflict in some areas of Indonesia has become a chaotic condition. In one hand, most people use conflict as a mode to demonstrate frustrations and angers they feel; and in other and, those who use conflict as a gun for resolving problems they have. The implementation of multicultural education is an effort for conflict resolution, because conflict is no longer a phenomenon, but it has been a reality in a daily society’s life. Therefore, national education authority of Indonesia should propose the educational policy to prioritize the implementation of multicultural education, as an instrument to resolve some conflicts happening in society, nation, and state level.

Abstract:
Terrorism is a form of extraordinary crime that not only leads to lives and material losses, but also creates a continuing fear in society. Backed by the many cases of terrorism with suicide bombing mode, especially in the case of Bali Bombing 1 and 2, then born special datachment 88 (Densus 88) which has the obligation to combat terrorism. Unfortunately, in cracking down on the perpetrators of terror, even those still suspected as terrorist suspects, Densus 88 often uses violence and even shoots off on the spot. The late Siyono was one of the victims of repressive measures carried out by Densus 88. In other cases, Densus 88 is also often proven to mis-arrest after the suspect has lost his life. This condition is certainly contrary to the spirit of democracy and efforts to guarantee human rights protection in Indonesia. This paper discusses: (1) the Standard Operational Procedure of terrorist suspected arrest process by Densus 88 and its comparison with anti terrorism agency in other country; and (2) Guarantees and legal protection in the fulfillment of the rights of suspected terrorists.

"Evolution Modes, Types, and Social-Ecological Drivers of Ecologically Critical Areas in the Sichuan–Yunnan Ecological Barrier in the Last 15 Years." Abstract:
The ecological barrier is a complex ecosystem that couples the human–nature relationship, and the ecologically critical area is an irreplaceable area with a special value in the ecosystem. Therefore, protecting the ecologically critical area is vital for maintaining and improving regional ecological security. Limited research has been conducted on the evolution of ecologically critical areas, and none of the studies have considered the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of the driving factors for different evolution modes and types. Therefore, this research adopts the ecologically critical index, landscape expansion index, and the random forest model to analyze the pattern, driving factors, and its spatial-temporal heterogeneity to the evolution modes and specific types of ecologically critical areas in the Sichuan–Yunnan ecological barrier area in the last 15 years. The results showed that: (1) the ecologically critical areas in the Sichuan–Yunnan ecological barrier have changed dramatically, with the area reduction being 61.06%. Additionally, the spatial distribution characteristics of the ecologically critical area from north to south include planar, point, and linear forms. (2) The evolution trend of the ecologically critical area is ‘degradation–expansion–degradation’. Spread is the predominant type of expansion mode, whereas atrophy is the predominant type of degradation mode, indicating that the evolution mainly occurs at the edge of the original ecologically critical areas. (3) In general, precipitation, area of forest, area of cropland, and GDP have contributed significantly to the evolution of ecologically critical areas. However, the same driving factor has different effects on the expansion and degradation of these areas. Expansion is driven by multiple factors at the same time but is mainly related to human activities and land use change, whereas for degradation, climate and policy are the main driving factors. The present research aimed to quantitatively identify the evolution modes and specific types of ecologically critical areas and explore the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of driving factors. The results can help decision-makers in formulating ecological protection policies according to local conditions and in maintaining and enhancing the regional ecological functions, thereby promoting the sustainable development of society-economy-ecology.

Abstract:
Abstract Part 1 of the paper evaluated how the orientation and stiffness of the layers in layered beams of constant cross section used in double cantilever beams (DCB) specimens influence the stiffness variation of individual adherends along their length. The behavior of bonded DCB specimens made with such materials, of which wood is a common example, are analyzed in this part 2 of the paper to determine errors associated with common data analysis methods for mode I fracture testing: simple beam theory (SBT), corrected beam theory (CBT), experimental compliance method (ECM or Berry method), and area method (AM). In particular, the first three methods are described in British Standards (BS) 7991 (1991) or the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) D 3433 (1999/2005), while the AM is not suggested by the mentioned standards. SBT, CBT, and ECM, although initially developed for characterizing bonds between uniform and isotropic adherends, have also been commonly applied to other materials including wood. Nevertheless, these three standardized methods may lack precision for determining the critical strain energy release rate, , when applied to bonded wood adherends, due to the elastic stiffness variability that can occur along the length of the bonded beams. The AM yields more coherent results in the developed analytical procedure, although practical issues can limit its reliability with experimental results. Another physical problem that arises with the adherend stiffness variation is the onset of a slight mode II loading component that is not anticipated, nor accounted for, in the traditional data analysis methods.

Abstract:
This paper describes the partial results of an echocardiographic study in sixty outbreed Wistar rats. Animals of parity sex ratio were chosen for the experiment. The animals were grown up during the observation period (the minimum weight was 220 g; the maximum weight was 909 g) and were then sequentially anaesthetised (2–2.5% of isoflurane, 3 l/min O2). The second, fourth and fifth examinations were performed under anaesthesia maintained by intramuscular injections with diazepam (2 mg/kg), xylazine (5 mg/kg) and ketamine (35 mg/kg). Transthoracal examination was done using the SonoSite Titan echo system (SonoSite Ltd.) with a microconvex transducer C11 (8–5 MHz). M-mode (according to the leading-edge method of American Society of Echocardiography) echocardiography data were acquired at the papillary muscle: systolic and diastolic interventricular septum (IVSs, d) and left vetricular posterior wall (LVPWs, d) thickness, systolic and diastolic left ventricular dimension (LVDs, d), aorta (Ao) and left atrium (LA) dimensions. According to standard formulas, the following parameters were obtained: ejection fraction (EF), cardiac output (CO), stroke volume (SV), left ventricle end systolic volume (LVESV), left ventricle end diastolic volume (LVEDV), interventricular septum fractional thickening (IVSFT), left ventricular dimension fraction shortening (LVDFS), and left ventricle posterior wall fraction thickening (LVPWFS). In our study we performed 300 examinations both in male and female Wistar rats of various body weights and calculated regression equations to predict expected normal echocardiographic parameters for rats with arbitrary weights. The rats were examined by an echo scan. The first and third examinations were performed during mono-anaesthesia induced by inhalation of isoflurane. Correlations, with one exception (LVDs), were very close, which means that the results of the calculations based on regression equations are very reliable.

Abstract:
Abstract Acquired hemophilia A (AH) is a rare disorder marked by the development of autoantibodies to factor VIII. Patients present with a prolonged aPTT that does not correct with mixing and clinically evident bleeding. HRS and its successor, HTRS, have maintained a registry to study treatment strategies for acute bleeds in hemophilia and related disorders. Data from the HRS (1999–2003) and HTRS (2004–2008) registries were examined to identify acute bleeding episodes in patients with AH. In total, 49 patients were identified with AH, 28 of whom had 50 acute bleeding episodes recorded. 23 (46%) of such bleeds were treated with recombinant Factor VIIa (rFVIIa) alone, 9 (18%) with rFVIIa and other hemostatic agents, 12 (24%) with other hemostatic agents alone, 1 did not require treatment, and 5 no treatment information recorded. Of patients with bleeding episodes and recorded demographic information, there were 22 males and 12 females; 38 were Caucasian and 7 African American. Mean (median) age at time of the acute bleed was 69 (72) years for patients ever treated with rFVIIa and 66 (70) years for those treated exclusively with other agents. Remaining data are presented as mean (median, mode) unless otherwise indicated. For those ever treated with rFVIIa, the initial dose was 98 (100, 90) mcg/kg, mean treatment dose was 95 (100, 90) mcg/kg, and total cumulative treatment dose was 2520 (702, 300) mcg/kg. The highest single bolus dose given was 160 mcg/kg. There was no significant variation in initial or mean dose over the 9-year data collection period. The total number of doses of rFVIIa was 27 (7, 3) over a mean of 5.2 (1, 1) days for total treatment duration of 6.8 (2.5, 1) days per bleeding episode. Treatment within the first 24 hrs was a mean of 478 (311, 300) mcg/kg representing 63% (81%, 100%) of total rFVIIa dose. True efficacy was difficult to assess in this registry. As rated by the physician for the primary outcome of the bleed stopped at 72 hrs, efficacy was 64%. However, in 9 additional bleeding episodes (32%), documentation of efficacy was unclear. In 4 the dose of rFVIIa was not increased and no other hemostatic agents were given, 2 switched from porcine FVIII (pFVIII) to rFVIIa and 3 switched from rFVIIa to other agents, including aPCC (after a single inadequate 30 mcg/kg dose of rFVIIa), pFVIII and plasma derived FVIII (pdFVIII), for an overall efficacy rate of 82%. One patient with preeclampsia and bleeding after a Caesarean section experienced transient neurologic symptoms after receiving rFVIIa 90 mcg/kg q2h for 113 consecutive doses; brain MRI showed multifocal ischemia. Patients who did not receive rFVIIa were treated with pFVIII (7 bleeds, 58%), aPCC (4 bleeds, 33%) and pdFVIII concentrate (1 bleed, 8%) for a mean of 12 (8, 6) days. Efficacy as rated by the physician for the outcome of bleed stopped at 72 hrs was 55% in those specified (4/7 bleeds treated with pFVIII, 1/4 aPCC and 1/1 pdFVIII). In 5 bleeding episodes (45%), documentation of efficacy was unclear. While registry data can only show the treatment reported in selected bleeds captured, HRS-HTRS demonstrates rFVIIa efficacy similar to prior reports in the AH population. rFVIIa dosing was consistent over time with most patients receiving ~100 mcg/kg for 7 doses. Despite publication on higher dosing regimens in patients with congenital hemophilia, there were no documented doses above 160 mcg/kg in this series. Although rFVIIa is approved for use every 2–3 hrs, the data indicate that dosing was generally at more prolonged intervals, and often over long periods of time. In the absence of randomized prospective studies and the limited number of evaluable patients with this rare disorder, this registry data provide proof of principle that rFVIIa is an effective and safe treatment for acute bleeding episodes in AH. As this registry was originally intended in part to track the safety of rFVIIa, these derived data may be somewhat biased and selective. Nevertheless, they are certainly indicative that rapid and safe hemostasis can be achieved in an aging adult population where thrombogenicity of hemostatic agents is of major concern. This registry will continue to collect data on AH patients to determine whether dose, dosing interval and dosing frequency trends are maintained as experience with rFVIIa expands. Definitive comparative safety and efficacy data with various hemostatic agents in AH ideally will require prospective randomized trials, which will be challenging in such a rare disorder.

Abstract:
Objectives: Previous multicenter studies report variable outcomes and failure rates after tumor-prosthetic reconstructions. The purpose of this study was (1) to evaluate implant survival, limb survival, and functional outcome in a cohort of patients who underwent resection of primary malignancies or aggressive benign bone tumors and reconstruction with modern tumor-prostheses in the lower extremities and (2) to provide comparison to a historical cohort on previous generations of tumor-prostheses from the same center. Methods: A longitudinal retrospective single-center study of 72 consecutive patients (F/M = 30/42), mean age = 44 (range = 7–84) years with bone, soft tissue sarcoma adjacent to bone (n = 69), and aggressive benign bone tumors (n = 3) having surgery between 2006 and 2016 with bone resection and reconstruction with tumor-prostheses were compared to a historical cohort from1985 to 2005. Revisions were classified as major and minor revisions. Causes of failure were classified according to the Henderson classification. Fine and Gray competing risk analysis was used for assessing cumulative incidence for implant revision and limb amputation. Functional outcome was evaluated with Musculoskeletal Tumor Society Score system. Results: Forty-seven patients were alive at the end of the study. Mean follow-up was 6 years (range = 2–13 years). Ten-year cumulative risk of major revision was 18% (95% confidence interval = 9%–28%). Deep infection and recurrence of tumor caused most revisions in modern tumor-prostheses. Ten-year cumulative incidence of limb amputation was 11% (95% confidence interval = 3%–18%). According to the Henderson classification, the overall predominant failure mode was non-mechanical (n = 20, 51%). Mean Musculoskeletal Tumor Society Score was 20 (67%) (range = 0–30). Conclusion: A minimum of 2 years follow-up with modern modular tumor-prostheses demonstrated a relatively low risk of implant failure and amputation and also an acceptable functional outcome. No statistical difference of, implant survival, limb survival and functional outcome between tumor-prostheses over two time periods was observed, possibly explained by Type 2 error.

Abstract:
School is an institution that not only teach science or study but also is very important to educate the students. The education will influence or change the behavior, character, personality, way of thinking, maturity and etc, because the education is expected the student not only understand or master of science and technology but also have good character and personal. National education goals also called general purpose is education goals to be achieved at the national level. Indonesia’s national education goals listed in law Republic Indonesia number 2 1989, about the national education system chapter 2 verse 4 said: national education the nation and develop human whose faith and fear of God, good character, knowledge and skills, physical and spiritual health, personality and independence and sense responsibility for society and nationality. To achieve national education goals, vision and mission of the school, the scholl students need to choose someone who can be role model for other students in learning, behavior, attitudes and how to interact in school or outside the school cenvironment. The head master and the teacher make the criteria or requirements to determine who will be role model and they use an approach that can be done by using Fuzzy logic . And the assesment’s criteria can be done by looking at the attitude, discipline, the average of mark, the organization, and involved in drugs. That approached is expected to choose a role model of student effectively. From that criteria they make a decision support system to determine thet role mode student.
