ABSTRACT Mobil Oil Corporation has long recognized the need to be prepared in the event of a large spill of oil. This paper discusses what happened when Mobil's Marine Transportation Department received word that one of its vessels had stranded in the Columbia River, releasing a quantity of oil. Response to the Mobiloil incident brought together personnel from several Mobil companies in a preplanned manner. When on scene, this diverse group, previously trained, had the necessary skills and knowledge to rapidly organize to manage the spill cleanup operation. This spill response operation verified the training programs conducted by Mobil. It included the establishment of a bird rescue center, the use of company-owned communications equipment, and resulted in at least one new cleanup technique. These experiences are shared with the hope that others responding to a large spill may do so with confidence if the necessary planning has been accomplished and response team personnel have been provided appropriate training.

: The invention of mesoporous materials is of significant interest to many scientists worldwide. The Mobil Crystalline Materials No 41 (MCM-41) is a well-known mesoporous molecular sieve that was discovered in 1992 by a scientist at the Mobil Oil Corporation. The MCM-41 is widely used in catalysis, ion exchange, drug delivery, optics, gas sensing, and sorption. In this study, the surface of a mesoporous silica MCM-41, synthesized from pure silica, is functionalized with a methyl group by grafting. The synthesized and functionalized samples are characterized by X-ray powder diffractometer (XRD), and the functionalized sample are also characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The textural properties of the samples are determined using N2 adsorption and desorption analysis. Thermal behaviors of the samples are analyzed using thermogravimetry (TG) and derivative thermogravimetry (DTG). The results of the analyses show that the functionalization of the synthesized material through grafting was accomplished with the surface area of the functionalized sample determined as 600.87 m2 g-1.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT This essay studies the propaganda language of contemporary – or late – fossil capital. Whereas the traditional understanding of propaganda focuses on the dissemination of information (or disinformation) in order to promote a political cause or ideology, I argue that the main form and vehicle of propaganda for late fossil capital is the massive use of terms and tropes, together with particular rhetorical devices, for example, the interpellation of the individual consumer as responsible for mitigating climate change. The essay studies the language of fossil capital based primarily on marketing material by fossil fuel companies, in the US and other Western countries, such as advertising and advertorials, current and archived websites, social media, corporate sustainability reports, as well as material produced by industry organisation such as the American Petroleum Institute and the Heartland Institute. A large part of the material is taken from two North American legal complaints, Connecticut v. Exxon Mobil Corporation (2020) and City of New York v. Exxon Mobil Corp. et al. (2021).

AbstractBased on The Act No. 8 of 2010 of The Prevention and Combating of Money Laundering, money laundering is classified into 2 (two) forms, which are active money laundering and passive money laundering. Passive money laundering is an act of receiving, holding, or using a proceed of crime. Passive money laundering could be done by corporation, such as a political party. LHI is a member of the The House of Representatives and at the same time, President of The KS Party. LHI received IDR 1.300.000.000,- and 1 unit of Toyota FJ Cruiser worth IDR 1.100.000.000,- from MEL as the Director of PT. IU in January 2013. The provision is given relating to the position of LHI as a member of The House of Representatives, LHI was asked to influence fellow members of The House of Representatives and S as the Minister of Agriculture who is also a member of The KS Party. S was expected to issue a letter of approval for the application of additional beef import quota proposed by PT. IU. 1 unit of Toyota FJ Cruiser was then donated by LHI to The KS Party. According to the criminal liability of corporation theory which is Identification Theory, the act of General Secretary and General Treasurer of The KS Party is identified as the act of The KS Party. It makes The KS Party criminally liable for receiving a donation from the proceed of crime and use it for its Safari Dakwah activity as part of its campaign in Sumatera. AbstrakTindak pidana pencucian uang berdasarkan Undang-Undang Nomor 8 Tahun 2010 Tentang Pencegahan dan Pemberantasan Tindak Pidana Pencucian Uang diklasifikasikan menjadi 2 (dua) bentuk, yaitu tindak pidana pencucian uang aktif dan pasif. Focusing on the U.S. market, this research selects ten high-capitalization U.S. stocks in different industries and uses stock price forecasting in machine learning as well as Monte Carlo simulation to explore the efficient frontier of assets. Besides, this paper builds a portfolio with equal weight, maximum Sharpe ratio, and minimum volatility criteria, respectively. The results show that the Exxon Mobil Corporation possesses the largest proportion of the maximum Sharpe ratio portfolio, and the UnitedHealth Group Inc. accounts largest weights for the portfolio with the minimum volatility. In addition, this paper also compares the cumulative returns of the three investment portfolios with the important index NASDAQ of the US stock market. The results indicate that that the above mentioned three portfolios are all better than the benchmark index and can obtain a higher return. The results may shed light on some investors' approach to portfolio management during this extraordinary time.

Abstract:
Diversity is one of the most significant forces influencing organizational change in the 1990s. The number of diversity workshops, videos, journal articles, boardgames, handbooks and CD-ROMs testify to its significance. Many of these present diversity as a problem to overcome or manage. Few recognize diversity as a potential source of organizational effectiveness. This article presents diversity as a key resource to create a high performing work culture that enables all members of the organization to do their best work. I share some of the lessons learned in over twenty-five years experience consulting with public and private organizations in their quest to build inclusive, high performing work environments. The article distinguishes between diversity and inclusion, describes a model for diagnosing an organization's culture, sets forth steps for implementing organizational change, and discusses the human resource professional's role. These concepts grew out of my work with organizations such as Mobil Corporation, Dun & Bradstreet, Apple Computer and the Cities of Portland, Maine; Columbus, Indiana; and San Diego, California.

Abstract:
Four giant volumes (plus a companion one on Humble Oil) appeared between 1955 and 1988 on the history of Standard Oil Company (New Jersey) and its successor (as of 1972) Exxon Corporation. These well-documented volumes took the story to 1975. As related by the publisher and author of this book, about four years after the 1999 megamerger of Exxon and Mobil and the formation of ExxonMobil, the merged unit gave a collection of its historical files—containing some four million documents—to the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History (DBC) at the University of Texas at Austin. When the document transfer was made, in 2003, William Hale, a thirty-year Exxon/ExxonMobil manager (most recently in the public relations department) suggested that it was time for a fifth volume of Exxon history. ExxonMobil's top management approved, and in 2005 the DBC asked Joseph Pratt to write it. He agreed, and the book under review, which covers the period 1973 through the merger to 2005, was written by Pratt “with the assistance of William Hale” and published by DBC.

Abstract:
With the progress of the power grid system, the coverage area of cables is widening, and the problem of cable faults is gradually coming to affect people’s daily lives. While the vast majority of cable faults are caused by the ablation of the cable buffer layer, polypropylene (PP), as a common cable buffer material, has pyrolysis properties that critically impact cable faults. Studying the semiconductive buffer layer of polypropylene (PP) and its pyrolysis properties allows us to obtain a clearer picture of the pyrolysis products formed during PP ablation. This understanding aids in the accurate diagnosis of cable faults and the identification of ablation events. In this study, the effects of temperature and catalyst (H-Zeolite Standard Oil Corporation Of New York (Socony) Mobil-Five (HZSM-5)) content on the PP thermolysis product distribution were studied by using an online tubular pyrolysis furnace-mass spectrometry (MS) experimental platform. The results showed that PP/40% HZSM-5 presented the highest thermolytic efficiency and relative yield of the main products at 400 °C.

Abstract:
One of the objectives of this paper is to incorporate fat-tail effects into, for instance, Sigmoid in order to introduce Transparency and Stability into the existing stochastic Activation Functions. Secondly, according to the available literature reviewed, the existing set of Activation Functions were introduced into the Deep learning Artificial Neural Network through the “Window” not properly through the “Legitimate Door” since they are “Trial and Error “and “Arbitrary Assumptions”, thus, the Author proposed a “Scientific Facts”, “Definite Rules: Jameel’s Stochastic ANNAF Criterion”, and a “Lemma” to substitute not necessarily replace the existing set of stochastic Activation Functions, for instance, the Sigmoid among others. This research is expected to open the “Black-Box” of Deep Learning Artificial Neural networks. The author proposed a new set of advanced optimized fat-tailed Stochastic Activation Functions EMANATED from the AI-ML-Purified Stocks Data namely; the Log – Logistic (3P) Probability Distribution (1st), Cauchy Probability Distribution (2nd), Pearson 5 (3P) Probability Distribution (3rd), Burr (4P) Probability Distribution (4th), Fatigue Life (3P) Probability Distribution (5th), Inv. Gaussian (3P) Probability Distribution (6th), Dagum (4P) Probability Distribution (7th), and Lognormal (3P) Probability Distribution (8th) for the successful conduct of both Forward and Backward Propagations of Deep Learning Artificial Neural Network. However, this paper did not check the Monotone Differentiability of the proposed distributions. Appendix A, B, and C presented and tested the performances of the stressed Sigmoid and the Optimized Activation Functions using Stocks Data (2014-1991) of Microsoft Corporation (MSFT), Exxon Mobil (XOM), Chevron Corporation (CVX), Honda Motor Corporation (HMC), General Electric (GE), and U.S. Fundamental Macroeconomic Parameters, the results were found fascinating. Thus, guarantee, the first three distributions are excellent Activation Functions to successfully conduct any Stock Deep Learning Artificial Neural Network. Distributions Number 4 to 8 are also good Advanced Optimized Activation Functions. Generally, this research revealed that the Advanced Optimized Activation Functions satisfied Jameel’s ANNAF Stochastic Criterion depends on the Referenced Purified AI Data Set, Time Change and Area of Application which is against the existing “Trial and Error “and “Arbitrary Assumptions” of Sigmoid, Tanh, Softmax, ReLu, and Leaky ReLu.

Abstract:
Mobil Research and Development Corporation Field Research Laboratory Dallas, Texas Abstract The organic carbonaceous matter found intimately associated with the uranium mineral in some Crownpoint ore trends appears to shield some of the uranium from contact by a chemically-mild leaching system. Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) is an oxidant strong enough to attack this carbonaceous matter and contact the trapped uranium mineral. Batch and pack laboratory tests showed that alkaline bicarbonate solutions containing 0.1–5.0 wt-% NaOCl were effective for rapid recovery of uranium from Crownpoint refractory ore. Recoveries of 90% and greater were obtained In the laboratory tests. However, NaOCl is such a strong oxidant that it reacts extensively with gangue minerals also present in the ore as well as with uranium. Since oxidation with NaOCl generates sodium chloride, high chloride levels would tend to build up in the leaching circuit. Electron mlcroprobe studies of ore samples after leaching with NaOCl showed the presence of holes and cracks in the residual carbonaceous matrix as well as the presence of chloride. Leaching with NaOCl is also associated with high levels of dissolved organic carbon. These observations suggest some degree of oxidative breakdown of the encapsulating organic matter by NaOCl, thereby facilitating oxidant attack on the uranium mineral.

AbstractIs the world's power engineering at a crossroads? Does the rapid development of new emerging fields such as the Internet of Things, smart city or e-mobility make us take a completely different point of view on the world's energy future? What are our visions and development forecasts related to this? Who is right, Exxon Mobil Corporation or the visionary investor Elon Musk? The author of this article is trying to find answers to these and many other questions. In the long-term perspective, a transition from centralised power generation to distributed power generation seems to be inevitable, and that is the central message of this article. The article also presents the situation of the Polish power engineering against the background of global trends, as well as proposals for solving the smog problem using anti-smog technologies developed at the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdańsk and by launching a pilot project that will cover 1,000 households equipped with these technologies. The author and his closest co-workers recommend equipping boilers, including both older and newer ones, with low-power electrostatic precipitators. In this way, one can burn low-quality fuels while keeping the emission of airborne dust at a low level. It is a quick and not pricey solution to the smog problem.

ABSTRACT In October 1996, Mobil, Amoco, and Amoco's Egyptian joint venture partner, Gupco (Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company), conducted a tier III oil spill exercise with key government authorities, including the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA) and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC). This joint exercise represented a significant step forward in promoting global government and industry cooperation in preparedness and response to major oil spills. The exercise involved high-level decision makers from key Egyptian government agencies charged with responding to oil spills. Other participants were local, regional, and international tier II and III consultants and contractors, including responders from Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) in Southampton, England. During the exercise, onshore response equipment was deployed, and civil aviation, customs, and immigration issues related to air transport of equipment and mobilization of personnel to Egypt were tested. Technical resources from the Integrated Simulators Complex in Alexandria, Egypt, were used by the response team in developing strategies to deal with the oil spill scenario. Professional media personnel were used to test issues pertaining to government and public affairs. This exercise, which was observed by the Egyptian Red Sea governor and the U.S. ambassador, demonstrates that Egyptian authorities are working to become a “center of excellence” in oil spill preparedness for the Middle East, Eastern Mediterranean, and North African region.

Abstract:
Mobil Research and Development Corporation Field Research Laboratory Dallas, Texas Abstract In this paper we present laboratory data on the effectiveness of a fairly severe leaching system ---- sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and an oxidant ---- in recovery of uranium from refractory Crown- point uranium ore. In combination with a strong mineral acid such point uranium ore. In combination with a strong mineral acid such as H2SO4, oxidants such as oxygen or hydrogen peroxide (H202) should be able to degrade the organic matter intimately associated with uranium in slow-leaching uranium ores, thus increasing exposure of the uranium mineral sites to contact by the leachate. Scoping batch leach tests showed that a leachate such as H2SO4 with H2O2 and with ferric ion added gave good racoveries at a fast rate from Crownpoint refractory ore. For detailed study of the H2SO4-oxygen system, a composite core was fabricated with ore segments from several wells in an area In which ore leached slowly with mild leachates. With this system, comprising 0.5% H2SO4, 24.5 gm/liter Na2SO4, 1 gm/liter NaCl and 0.2 gm/liter CO2 with 800 psig (~520 kPa) 02, 65% recovery of uranium was observed rapidly in about 30 pore volumes. This is almost double the recovery observed with a mild leaching system (02-NaHC03) in the same number of pore volumes. Plugging that occurred twice during the leach run appears related to movement of feldspar and quartz fines rather than gypsum deposition.

Abstract:
With globalization, corporations increasingly have to consider both domestic stakeholders and overseas stakeholders (i.e., international publics) in their corporate social responsibility (CSR) practice. Digitalization empowers international publics to scrutinize and react to a (multinational) corporation’s CSR strategy, further affecting corporate outcomes of CSR practice. Drawing on the social media context and attribution theory, this study investigated international publics’ reactions to corporate disaster relief, an emerging type of mobile-enhanced CSR (i.e., mCSR) practice, in the United States and China by looking at individuals’ engagement with mobile social media during disasters, attribution of CSR motives, and level of CSR skepticism. Using structural equation modeling analysis, the survey data of randomly recruited Americans ( n = 816) and mainland Chinese ( n = 430) suggested that mobile social media engagement reinforces the values-, strategic-, and stakeholder-driven motives of mCSR in the United States and China. Egoistic-driven CSR motives elicited publics’ skepticism toward mCSR, while values- and stakeholder-driven motives inhibited skepticism in both countries. However, the effect of strategic-driven motives on skepticism was inconsistent internationally. Last, CSR skepticism triggered negative relational outcomes between the mCSR-performing corporation and various stakeholders in both countries. This study advances CSR and attribution theory and contributes to the practice of CSR, public relations, and international business in the social media and disaster response context.

Abstract:
This article explores one of the most notorious and controversial initiatives by tech corporations to increase connectivity across the Global South: Facebook’s Free Basics project. Public attention focused on its ban in India following nationwide protests about net neutrality. In Africa, however, Free Basics expanded without much public scrutiny to some 32 countries. This article traces this quiet expansion by using an innovative virtual private network (VPN)-based method and by calling for an analytical focus on the landscape of the digital civil society in Africa. Specifically, I outline two key, interrelated phenomena: (1) Facebook’s evolving strategy, including a greater engagement with civil society organizations and (2) the focus of digital rights activists in Africa on issues like Internet shutdowns, government surveillance, and the lack of data privacy frameworks. In the process, I illuminate broader trends in the digital industry including tech corporations’ growing investments in mobile social media, network infrastructures, and in civil society; the use of disadvantaged populations and unregulated territories for digital experiments and data extraction; and the mounting recognition of Facebook’s political role, both within and outside the corporation.

G, Shanmugam. "100 years of the Devine Teacher - Student relationship among the three Generations of Indian Geoscientists (1920s – 2020s): A remarkable Story of Knowledge transfer from T. N. Muthuswami Iyer “TNM” through A. Parthasarathy to G. Shanmugam and beyond." Journal of The Indian Association of Sedimentologists 1, no. 1 (December 31, 2022): 2–40. http://dx.doi.org/10.51710/jias.v1i1.221.

Abstract:
The divine teacher-student relationship that covers 100 years of knowledge transfer is the underpinning of this remarkable personal story. Importantly, this narrative is about an Indian genius and a geologic pioneer, Professor T. N. Muthuswami Iyer, known as TNM. The first generation (1920s-1960s) TNM began his teaching career as a crystallographer and a mineralogist at the University of Madras-Gundy Campus (Chennai) in 1924, and continued at the Presidency College (Madras), Sager University (Madhya Pradesh), and Annamalai University (Tamil Nadu). One of his early students at Presidency was A. Parthasarathy, who later studied at the Imperial College in London (UK) and earned his Ph.D. in Engineering Geology from the London University (UL) in 1954. The second generation (1940s-1980s) Prof. Parthasarathy became the Head of Applied Geology section in the Civil Engineering Department at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay in 1964. The third generation (1960s-2020s) G. Shanmugam earned his B.Sc. in Geology and Chemistry from Annamalai University with a First Class (1965) and started teaching science in a local high school in his hometown of Sirkazhi, Tamil Nadu. TNM, who was the Head of Geology at Annamalai University in 1965, motivated G. Shanmugam to quit his teaching job and pursue M.Sc. in Applied Geology at IIT Bombay. Shanmugam earned his M.Sc. in Applied Geology at IIT Bombay under the guidance of Prof. Parthasarathy. Education and training at IIT Bombay propelled Shanmugam to receive his second M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in the USA. His Ph.D. research under the guidance of Prof. Kenneth R. Walker at University of Tennessee on Ordovician tectonics and sedimentation in the Southern Appalachians led to securing a research position with Mobil Oil Company in Dallas, Texas in 1978. Because of his global research on multiple domains while at Mobil and as post-retirement consultant since 2000 for oil companies in India and China, Shanmugam has to his credit 382 published works that include three Elsevier books on process sedimentology and petroleum geology, with the first two books were translated into Chinese language. He has authored 6 invited Encyclopedia Chapters for Elsevier and McGraw Hill Book Companies and has delivered 89 lectures worldwide during 1980-2021 period. He won the top "Special Prize" from Springer Journal of Palaeogeography in 2020 for "Excellent Papers" based on Science Citation Index (SCI) of five articles published during 2012-2018. Shanmugam's efforts in knowledge transfer during the COVID-19 global pandemic included giving virtual lectures on Zoom, Google Meet, and WebEx platforms to academia (e.g., Royal Holloway, University of London, IIT Bombay, and Ohio University). Shanmugam organized 23 onsite workshops on "Deep-water sandstone petroleum reservoirs" worldwide, which included (1) the UK Government Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Edinburgh, UK, (2) Reliance Industries Ltd., Kakinada, India, (3) Hardy Oil, Chennai, India, (4) Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Mumbai and Kajuraho, India, (5) Petrobras, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, (6) Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development (RIPED) of PetroChina, Beijing, China, and (7) China University of Petroleum, Qingdao, China. The T. N. Muthuswami - A. Parthasarathy - G. Shanmugam lineage, spanning over 100 years, is unique and phenomenal in knowledge transfer among geoscientists. On the economic front, TNM and his lineages contributed directly to the petroleum, atomic mineral, cement, gemstone, and geothermal energy industries, among many others. The acronym "TNM" for T. N. Muthuswami Iyer is just perfect for a Transformational, Neoteric and a Motivating teacher and a noble soul!

Abstract:
The sustained and comprehensive need in the field of materials having immense thermal, chemical, and mechanical stability lead to the evolution of mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs). Due to higher surface area and ridged tuneable particular size, silica-based mesoporous (2-50nm) drug delivery system recently becomes a prime orb for loading different guest molecules such as peptides, proteins, anticancer drugs. The most common type of mesoporous nanoparticles is MCM-41 and SBA-15. MSMs has a wide range of applications in drug delivery, imaging, and catalysis. It was in the 1970’s, when the first patent was field related to MSMs, however during 1990, the full-fledged research started for MSMs. During that era, Mobil Corporation Laboratories, Japan started synthesizing of MSMs. Yet, the University of California also pioneered in MSMs synthesis, as they claimed to prepare 4.6-30 nm MSMs with a hexagonal array of pores; they further named it as SBA-15. MSMs has huge application in drug delivery system. Because of its larger surface area of the pores, the cytotoxin or drug can be filed within the pores like a Trojan Horse. Within the intercellular environment, by the endocytosis process, the small particles will be engulfed by biological cell membranes depending on what ligands attached within MSMs i.e., loaded RNA, loaded DNA, surface protein, PEG, and monoclonal antibody. Surprisingly, advanced research on MSMs concluded that cancerous cells have the tendencies to take MCM-41 than the healthy cells of the host; giving scientists a new hope that MCM-41 will one day be used commercially to treat a certain type of cancers. Modern research also shows that for the poorly water-soluble drug, SBA-15, TUD-1, HMM-33 and FSM-16 of MSMs has tremendous potential to improve in-vitro dissolution profiling i.e., upon loading of itraconazole (a poorly water-soluble drug) within SBA-15, it can able to stimulate GI fluid and facilitate transepithelial intestinal transport which ultimately results in higher drug absorption. In this mini-review, we attempted to discuss MSNs synthesis methods, morphology, preparations, mechanisms and recent research in the MSNs Drug delivery system. Thus, we concluded that more in vivo biocompatibility studies, biodistribution studies, toxicity studies, and clinical research is the fundamental prerequisite for further advancement in mesoporous silica-based nanoparticles (MSNs).

Abstract:
In conditions when against the Russian Federation economic sanctions are imposed, it is especially important to intensify work on attraction of investments and counteraction to outflow of the capital from the country. The energy industry as the turbulent situation with presence of such giants as Exxon Mobil Corporation in Russia showed, the unprecedented contract with the Chinese party on construction of the Force of Siberia gas pipeline, cooperation with French "Total", remains to one of the most investment and attractive branches of economy cooperation in which has strategic and long-term character. In present difficult conditions for realization of policy of attraction and deduction of investments into the Russian energy industry it is obviously necessary to pay attention, first of all, to effective use of instruments of state regulation. Considering strategic character of energy industry for Russia and importance of high efficiency, the attracted investments for domestic economy, it is necessary to provide as it was told above, balance of interests of the state and the attracted investors. Increase of efficiency of state regulation of foreign investment and investment activity in energy industry has to consider two macroeconomic conditions. In - the first, this creation of the friendly environment for the investor who came to fuel and raw sector of a national economy of the country guaranteeing protection of interests and minimizing risks of the investor. Secondly, it is necessary to displace emphasis on investment into adjacent sectors of energy industry. It is reached by interindustry transfer of investments (capital) on the enterprises occupied with profound processing of initial natural raw materials on the one hand and also in productions which provide organizational and technical, logistic and material deliveries of products for fuel and raw spheres on the other hand. The country with economies in transition accepting foreign investments is faced by an important task to define an optimum ratio of the foreign and national capital which will allow to accelerate its development and to avoid negative consequences of foreign investment. Need to control inflow of the foreign capital to the country is obvious, and for effective management of economy it is necessary to improve important legislative base, to create system of monitoring of direct foreign investments in which the branch and regional orientation of direct foreign investments has to be analyzed. Performance and observance of these conditions will demand a complex of regulatory measures, development and which acceptance depends on harmonious cooperation and actions of the external economic, antimonopoly and tax administration of the Russian state.

Abstract:
Libya is by most definitions an oil-based economy. Yet academic study of the national oil industry is at best fragmentary. The reasons for the poor showing of the Libyan oil industry in the literature stem partly from the relative decline in its international importance since the mid-1970s and partly from the ambiguity over acknowledgement of the role of the oil industry within Libya. The growth of the Libyan oil industry dates from 1951 and the coming of national independence. There had been surveys of a small scale and technologically limited kind in Libya in the Italian period. Some shows of oil had been discovered in Tripolitania as early as 1914 when water wells were drilled to supply Tripoli city (Waddams 1980, 27). Other oil was discovered in Tripolitania in the 1930s and a full scale exploration programme was prepared in the years 1937–1940 by the Italian national oil corporation under the geological guidance of Professor Ardito Desio, but never fully implemented due to the onset of war. Indeed, Desio was to return as a consultant to the oil companies working in Libya in the 1950s.In 1953 a mineral law was issued which paved the way for the grant of concessions to foreign oil companies to explore and develop oil resources. A petroleum law was promulgated in 1955 which offered rather more favourable terms on fees, rents, royalties and expensing to the oil companies than were available in other longer established oil producing states of North Africa and the Middle East (cf. Waddams, 1980, 57–70). At the same time, the assets of the oil companies in Libya were given far reaching protection under amendments of the petroleum law. The consequence of the generous operating terms of this and subsequent revisions of the law (1961 and 1965) was a rapid growth in the number of concessionaries exploring for oil within the country. The open-door policy pursued by the government was much criticised at a later period. Undoubtedly, however, it did succeed in attracting a wide spectrum of oil companies into Libya, including the major ones, such as Esso, Royal Dutch/Shell, Texaco, Gulf, BP and Mobil, together with many small independent interests. The best international techniques for exploration and development were put to work in Libya within a very short space of time, bringing the country rapidly into the ranks of the main oil-exporting states. Oil exports began on a commercial scale in September 1961 from Esso's Zelten fields in the Sirtican area, concession No. 6.

Abstract:
The article theoretically proves that crisis becomes a factor of evolution of economic systems in the conditions of market economy. The crisis is a category of macro -, meso – and micro-level and occurs in the world, national and regional economies. "*"So authors proves that crises have a particular importance for corporations: on the one hand organizations are the accumulators of all negative manifestations of the external environment of activity, and on the other they are independent sources of bifurcations, developing in the internal system of relations. In this regard, in spite of all the negative aspects of the financial crisis for the functioning of the country's economy, it can be considered as an incentive to find opportunities for development and increase the efficiency of corporate production. Practical point of view shows that the use of the capabilities of each individual corporation in the context of the financial crisis should be based on forecasting the impending threats of crisis phenomena and their elimination, leveling or using for economic growth. The growth prospects listed in the article are an example of turning of negative economic factors into opportunities for the development of commercial structures. At the same time, each business entity should work out a business development strategy and have a mobile financial policy that can be adapted as soon as possible in unstable conditions dictated by the crisis.

Abstract:
The formation process of any multinational corporation is driven by mechanisms of competition within global markets. In this modern era of knowledge there is an intensive development of high technology industries, mainly software, which play important roles in the various stages of processing and creation of innovative products and services. The history of Google goes back to 1995 when its founders – Sergey Brin and Larry Page met at Stanford University in California. On 7th September 1998, Google Inc. was officially incorporated. In 2001 Eric Smidt became Chief Executive Officer. In their twelve years of existence, the company maintained major development and was at the forefront of the development of software industry standards. The most profitable and constantly developing services of the corporation are the search engine, which represents more than 80% of the total search market and the advertising services such as AdWords and AdSense. However, the company diversifies its products and systematically enters into new markets in order to comprehensively meet the needs of its customers. Its diversification includes web applications, enterprise services and the market of mobile devices. The various departments of the corporation are located in 70 cities across 39 countries, usually in the capitals of these countries or, if not, in other large cities, which are associated with major public markets. The headquarters of Google is located in Mountain View, California. Most of the departments – twenty three, are located throughout North America and Europe. There are also 16 departments based in Asia. Individual countries have a varying degree of presence of Google offices, the largest being the United States with nineteen, whilst three are located in Poland, in Warsaw, Cracow and Wroclaw. Google has formed an organizational structure whose main task is to improve its competitiveness. Business development strategy is based on innovation, human potential and high quality standards and its mission is to „organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful”. With an effective strategy, Google breaks records in the number of acquired companies. The Corporation has an unusual and interesting organizational culture, which, due to concern for the well-being of employees, ensures high performance. Google’s philosophy is that of developing young, talented individuals capable of self-realization, thus creating a basis for development. In 2009 Google found itself in fourth position in the ranking of “100 Best Companies to Work For” in “Fortune Magazine”. By being faithful to its philosophy and strategy for success, Google has become part of a reality, without which some cannot imagine life. As the company is constantly expanding the range of its services and introducing innovative solutions, it is reasonable to assume that the process of the corporation’s development will be maintained.

Abstract:
The concept of media welfare state is a combination of the democratic corporatist media system and social democratic welfare state model, describing the distinctiveness of the Nordic countries and their media systems with four basic principles. Media welfare state is based on communication services understood as public goods, freedom from editorial interference, cultural policy and economic support for media pluralism as well as preference for consensual solutions involving cooperation between main stakeholders. However, identifying a joint media welfare state model in recent media and communication policy decisions made in Nordic countries on developing communication infrastructures, media delivery and universal access turns out to be difficult. During the last three decades, none of the four largest Nordic countries has strictly followed all the four principles. In most cases, Finland has ended up with different solutions than its Nordic neighbours and sometimes also in contradiction with the Media Welfare State model. There is evidence that the Nordic media markets have been losing their distinguishability over the years. But the main reason why the present-day Nordic countries do not fit into media welfare state model is that they no longer are welfare states ‐ not at least in the same fashion as they used to be. In Finland, this transition from the welfare state to the competition state has been more rapid and extensive than elsewhere in the Nordic region, partly because of its geopolitical position. The Finnish economy has also been exceptionally dependent on a single mobile technology corporation.

Abstract:
Risk management and market losses prediction played a vital role in the financial sector. Value-at-Risk (VaR) is one of the effective measures for financial risk management. This research studies three mobile phone companies which are Apple Inc, Google Inc and Microsoft Corporation. The stocks of these companies are listed under the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations stock exchange (NASDAQ). The Value-at-Risk is evaluated by using two non-parametric methods and four parametric methods. Two non-parametric methods used are the basic historical method and age-weighted historical method, while the four parametric methods are normal distribution, student’s t-distribution, generalized extreme value distribution, and variance gamma distribution. Shapiro-Wilk normality test indicates that the return series of the selected companies are not normally distributed. This study found that, at 95% confidence level, the risks of the selected stocks are different for each method, and the stock of Microsoft Corporation is the least risky stock as it gives the lowest VaR. Through the conditional coverage test, this study founds that the age-weighted historical method overestimated the VaR. In addition, this study also concludes that the basic historical method, generalized extreme value distribution and variance gamma distribution are superior to other methods in the backtesting procedure.

Abstract:
We established a path planning mobile robot system based on machine vision. The robot has multiple sensors to scan for obstacles. After catching the images, the robot will greyscale, process the images and find the most efficient path based on the ant colony algorithm. Finally, the robot will reach the destination with the corporation of motors and other components under the control of the motherboard. Simulations prove that the path planning mobile robot can find the most efficient way with censors and programs, and it can also reach its destination with the cooperation of the moving components.

Abstract:
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) received an application for merger approval from Telstra Corporation Limited and TPG Telecom Limited related to three interrelated agreements that would put in place a Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN) arrangement. The three agreements include a MOCN Service Agreement, a Spectrum Authorisation Agreement, and a Mobile Site Transition Agreement. This paper considers the proposed arrangements, identifies that the ACCC’s failure to declare domestic mobile roaming in 2018 was, in some large part, responsible for the market environment that fostered the current proposal, and that the proposed arrangements are not a satisfactory mechanism to fundamentally improve the delivery of reasonably priced, open and competitive, reliable, and high-quality mobile telecommunications in regional and remote areas.

Abstract:
Abstract: The Stingray or IMSI-catcher is a surveillance device for cellular phones that was initially developed by theHarris Corporation for military use. Nowadays, various local and state law enforcement agencies across countries such as Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom use similar devices widely. The term Stingray has also become a general term for thistype of device. The IMSI catcher has two modes of operation- active and passive. In the active mode, the device pretends to be a cell tower, tricking all nearby mobile phones and cellular devices to connect to it. It can be mounted on vehicles, low flying airplanes and helicopters, UAVs, etc. It broadcasts signals that seem stronger than the cell tower, and thus, it forces each compatible cellular device to disconnect from its service provider (e.g., Jio, BSNL, etc.) and establish a newconnection with the device. Cellular communications protocols require mobile phones and cellular devices to connect to the strongest signal. We have used a Software Defined Radio (SDR) to replicate the Stingray device manufactured by the Harris Corporation. Although this device has a shorter range, it can still track the IMSI of all cellular devices around it. This project also demonstrates how fragile our privacy is concerning our devi

Abstract: In the realm of digital finance, the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), managed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), revolutionizes real-time, boundary less payments between bank accounts. However, Transaction Service Providers (TSPs) encounter challenges in NPCI's testing infrastructure. To resolve this, an independent National Financial Switch (NFS) Simulator for UPI is proposed. This simulator will empower TSPs to conduct autonomous UPI transaction testing, reducing reliance on external resources. By replicating UPI processes, it will facilitate early issue identification, expedite development, and strengthen security. The NFS Simulator's technical implementation involves Android and iOS app creation, NPCI's Common Library integration, and backend simulation, streamlining development and ensuring robustness in the dynamic digital finance landscape.

Abstract:
As more and more listed companies have more and more operating experience, they are all paying more attention to the importance of financial risks, and they all hope to detect financial risks in a timely manner and intervene in the company’s operation process. However, the existing business risk management cannot fully identify the more and more hidden risks in modern times. Based on this, the purpose of this article is to assess the financial risk of publicly traded corporations and summarizes a suitable risk evaluation model. For the identification of financial risks, this study presents a mobile edge computing-based financial risk evaluation approach for publicly traded corporations. The evaluation indicators are stratified into three levels, and mobile edge computing is used to optimize the weights. The download calculation for mobile edge computing is also optimized and analyzed. Experiments show that the indicators selected in this paper are very suitable for the study of financial risk management of listed companies. The three-year comprehensive index scores of Company X are 0.60, 0.42, and 0.42, respectively. It can be seen that the index is more suitable for the actual risk. It can be considered that the financial risk evaluation model of listed companies in this paper has better performance.

Abstract:
From the mid-2000s, a sudden surge in the use of mobile phone footage by national and international broadcasters was widely anticipated as the precursor to a revolutionary change in the generation and dissemination of news. In the wake of events such as the London bombings of 2005, user-generated content bureaux and hubs were established by major media organizations from the British Broadcasting Corporation and CNN to Al Jazeera while new software and hardware was developed. The potential for covering virtually any news development from at least one of the world’s seven billion mobile phones suggested a whole new phase of broadcast journalism was imminent. This study of news bulletins by three United Kingdom-based broadcasters – Channel 4, the BBC and ITV – establishes a new methodology for the identification of mobile phone content in broadcasting. It also finds that a decade later, mobile phone footage has not lived up to its early potential.
