Full textThis assignment has been about recording, producing and mixing another artist's upcoming single, remotely, for her debut EP. The song is called ”Springer Hem I Ösregn”. It was first created with a demo with all the instruments made in the computer and a demo-vocal sung by myself. The demo was sent to a drummer and bass-player who recorded it remotely. The singer, Moa Silén, took the train to Arvika from Stockholm and recorded all the vocals during a weekend at my place. Guitars were recorded on their own and the song produced more superficially afterwards. The mix was done by myself and Anton Fagerberg. The master was also done by Anton. The result was to get a more new and modern sound than her previous single. Which the goal was right from the start and to be able to mix acoustic instruments with digital instruments. There were problems cause a lot was done remotely and also during the mixing process to get the bass and drums to work together, but with some help from Anton it was solved. In the future, this project will be done without the distance and with better working-conditions. Despite the long journey, the result of the song was as expected.

This dissertation examines the production of knowledge around global climate change and the character of environmental literacy among youth in Tafuna, on Tutuila, American Samoa. I analyze this production of environmental knowledge across multiple social fields (i.e. status hierarchies, governance structures, etc.) and subjectivities (school-specific, village-based, and Samoan cultural identities) during a period of social, political, economic, and environmental transformation. I interrogate the emerging forms of control that have come to structure the formal educational system in American Samoa, such as standardized or "containerized" curriculum, assessment and accountability measures, and the assignation of risk/creation of dependency on funding, deployed by American governmental agencies such as the Department of Education, and utilized by state actors such as the American Samoa Department of Education. Of particular concern is the how these structures create contradictions that affect the possibilities of teaching, learning, and the integration of youth into meaningful social roles. Informal learning about the environment includes village-based forms of service, church initiatives concerning the environment, governmental agency programming, such as that provided by the American Samoa Environmental Protection Agency, and youth-serving non-profit programs concerned with engaging youth as leaders. In both these formal and informal contexts for environmental education, American Samoan youth dynamically co-create knowledge within and outside the parameters of the socialization processes in which they are embedded. This research encompassed four trips to American Samoa over the course of three years, and utilized ethnographic fieldwork, including participant observation, interviews, questionnaires, archival research, and demographic data analysis, as the primary forms of data gathering. What this data reveals is the disengagement American Samoan youth feel for school-based environmental education because their science classes, as structured, do not integrate the co-relatedness of the social, the political, and the environmental fields that youth encounter. I discovered that youth are largely ambivalent about their future aspirations because they lack some of the cultural, linguistic, and educational tools necessary for local participation as well as for opportunities to study and work on Hawaii or the mainland United States. Lastly, I found that American educational ideals continue to be contradictory in the American Samoan context; whereas schools value and promote individually-oriented goals and responsibility, youth are also embedded in the values of communal identification and practice known as fa'a Samoa. I conclude that young people lack social integration and plan for a future away from American Samoa.

The Moa’s shellmound is an archaeological site located in Itaúna, Saquarema coastline from the State of Rio de Janeiro. Three moments of occupation were recognized this site: stratum 3 corresponding to the beginning of the occupation of this site basis; 2, intermediate, points to a more intense occupation with great concentration of mollusks, fish bones and human burials; and 1, the most superficial, related to the last occupation. To identify the environmental conditions of development from Moa’s shellmound, sediment samples and zooarchaeological material were collected in these three strata. The zooarchaeological material is represented by microscopic fish remains (ichthyoliths), composed by microteeth with different morphologies: canines, incisors and molars. The sediments according to XRD analyzes are composed by quartz and kaolinite, calcite, aragonite and fluorapatite. The latter is the main mineral of zooarchaeological material, while calcite and aragonite reflect the remains of shells contained there, abundant in this site. The mineralogical analyses were confirmed by chemical analysis, in which high levels of P2O5, CaO and FB (H2O, CO2), account for the fluorapatite, calcite and aragonite. Chemical modifications variations of the C and P in microteeth suggest that these experienced mineralization, an initial fossilization process, post-deposition. The data of stable isotopes 13C and 15N allowed defining the source of organic matter from Moa’s shellmound as marine/brackish, where the vegetation is represented, predominantly, for C3 plants by type of rainforest. The 87Sr/86Sr ratios in ichthyoliths confirm that the environment surrounding the shellmound as estuary. The tooth morphology allowed us to recognize five families previously not recorded for the site, as Labridae, Serranidae, Ariidae, Erythrinidae and Characidae, which confirm the estuarine environment. The age of the Moa’s shellmound by radiocarbon from the sediments showed disruption of stratum 2, causing a reversal of aged strata which can be explained by processes of formation and/or changes in the rivers changed the geological and geomorphological settings area. Another explanation could be human interference, due to the large number of burials (over 30), has upset the order of the moments of occupation from Moa’s shellmound, and possible erosion. The Moa’s shellmound is therefore installed in an area of marine-estuarine transition.

Full textAuthors are often described as lone creators of their work. However, in many cases there are several others included in the production of a literary work, amongst them the publishing house. It is previously known that Swedish authors Harry Martinson and Moa Martinson both had an exchange with their publishers Karl Otto Bonnier, Tor Bonnier and Kaj Bonnier at Albert Bonniers förlag (a leading Swedish publishing house). This thesis examines in what ways the publishers’ acts as “co-creators” of the authors literary works by analysing the communication in letters between the publishers and the authors regarding numerous manuscripts written during 1928–1939. The thesis frames several questions and analyses patterns in the publishers’ letters and their comments of the authors’ writing, the dialogue between the five respective parties and what function the publishers can be said to have in the literary production. The overall purpose of the thesis is to further understand the relationship between the two professions and how that affects the production of a literary work, up until the original publication of the work. The analysis concludes that there are some distinguishable patterns in the publishers’ critique of the authors’ manuscripts regarding language, content and disposition, the recipient, the publish houses’ interests as well as the friendship between the authors and publishers. While the relationship between the authors and publishers changes, so does the publishers comments and the authors response to those comments. Harry Martinson and Tor Bonnier develops a friendship which affects their working relationship, while Moa Martinson presumably feels left out and treated less amicably by Albert Bonnier’s. There is a difference between how the authors are treated by the publishers in that Harry Martinson gets less critique and does not need to make as extensive changes in his writings whilst Moa Martinson on the other hand has to do the opposite. The publishers, especially Karl Otto Bonnier, also demands that Moa Martinson make changes regarding unsuitable topics in her writing. Both authors show gratitude for the publishers’ commentary, though they are at first often unwilling to make the suggested changes. In the end Harry Martinson and Moa Martinson tend to yield to the publishers wishes, possibly in order to get their works published. The thesis concludes that the publishers could be considered “co-creators” of the authors’ literary works mainly by contributing to and shaping the authors’ views on what literature is and how it should be written, thus affecting their writings in the long run.

Full textMy aim in this essay is to analyze how the female body is represented in Swedish working class literature. I have compared four different novels all of which contain a female bathing scene: the opening chapter of Moa Martinsons Kvinnor och äppelträd (1933) , the opening chapter of Ivar Lo-Johanssons Bara en mor (1939) and a scene each in Glasfåglarna (1996) and Mosippan (1998), both written by Elsie Johansson. The bathing scenes suggest three key issues: modernisation, urbanisation and above all women´s sexual politics. Though there were several issues facing the feminist movement in Sweden in the 1930, the question of a woman’s right to her body was one that united the movement, regardless of class.

Full textModel-Driven Engineering (MDE) is an approach to software development that uses models as primary artifacts. Measurement is an engineering activity that enables to obtain quantitative information on the engineering process or the systems being developed. Measurement of models at an early phase of the development life cycle allows architects and managers to identify risks and flaws and to validate some properties. Unfortunately, it is costly to develop an ad hoc measurement tool for each of metamodel manipulated. We propose a metamodel-independent framework to define model metrics. Metrics are specified at a high level of abstraction. Then, from this declarative specification of metrics, a toolchain is able to generate the measurement software seamlessly integrated into a modeling environment. The overall contribution of this approach is to give a model-driven and integrated implementation of model metrics at a reasonable cost

In spite of the specificities pertaining to South African and Mozambican history and culture, in the novels of two of the most significant literary representatives of those Southern African nations, Zakes Mda and Mia Couto respectively, it is possible to observe similar perspectives regarding the recovery of cultural memories and histories and their contribution toward the construction, development and understanding of postcolonial identities. Through fiction, Zakes Mda and Mia Couto combine history’s concern with concrete facts and memory’s attachment to disclosure, opening important spaces to debate some of the most complex questions posed to African postcolonial identities. Beyond the distinctive political, cultural and historical contexts that have shaped South African and Mozambican literatures, both Zakes Mda and Mia Couto assume in their novels the need to examine contemporary South African and Mozambican postcolonial identities by resorting to the reclamation of their historical memories.

Full textIn Model Driven Engineering, models are high-level representations to produce software systems. They are processed by model transformations that automate development steps leading to a complete executable system. In this doctoral study, we make contributions to model transformation testing. Testing such model transformations for correctness presents some new challenges. First, we adapt mutation analysis to model transformations in order to qualify fault detecting effectiveness of a set of test models by considering model transformation specific faults. Second, we propose a set of functions to express test oracles for detecting faults in a transformation. We evaluate them regarding the complexity and reuse of model transformations. Finally, we integrate our techniques in tools that are used to develop reliable model transformation components and to assist in further model transformation testing studies
