Abstract:
Background Patients with segmental vitiligo (SV), unlike those with nonsegmental vitiligo (NSV), have a more predictable course and are more responsive to surgery. Objective To report 10 patients with SV treated with the melanocyte-keratinocyte transplantation procedure (MKTP), who responded with unusual responses not previously reported in the literature. Methods This is a retrospective, observational study that reports 10 patients with SV who underwent the MKTP between May 2003 and May 2012. Results Two patients had successful repigmentation after split-thickness skin grafting after failure of the MKTP. Two patients developed a hypopigmented ring at a margin of the MKTP-treated area. One patient had complete repigmentation after a second MKTP. Two patients developed koebnerization of the recipient site. Three patients developed new vitiligo patches in previously unaffected areas after the MKTP. Conclusions Uncommon and even suboptimal responses can occur following the MKTP in SV patients. There is a need for studies to provide better understanding and outcomes for SV patients undergoing the MKTP.

<p class="MDPI17abstract"><strong><span lang="EN-US">Tujuan:</span></strong><span lang="EN-US"> Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pakan penggemukan Domba Ekor Gemuk (DEG) ditinjau dari aspek konsumsi, kecernaan dan efisiensi penggunaan nutrien.</span></p><p class="MDPI17abstract"><strong><span lang="EN-US">Metode:</span></strong><span lang="EN-US"> Pakan penelitian menggunakan konsentrat mengandung menir kedelai tanpa proteksi dan terproteksi menggunakan formaldehid kadar 37%. Domba penelitian sebanyak 15 ekor dibagi dalam tiga macam perlakuan masing-masing perlakuan diulang satu kali menggunakan satu ekor DEG setiap ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari P1 = 30% rumput gajah (RG) + 55% konsentrat basal (KB) + 10% menir kedelai tanpa terproteksi (MKTP) + 5% menir kedelai proteksi (MKP), P2 = 30% rumput gajah (RG) + 55% konsentrat basal (KB) + 7.5% menir kedelai tanpa terproteksi (MKTP) + 7.5% menir kedelai proteksi (MKP), dan P3 = 30% rumput gajah (KB) + 55% konsentrat basal (KB) + 5% menir kedelai tanpa terproteksi (MKTP) + 10% menir kedelai proteksi (MKP). Parameter meliputi konsumsi, kecernaan dan efisiensi penggunaan nutrien bahan kering, bahan organik dan protein kasar.</span></p><p class="MDPI17abstract"><strong><span lang="EN-US">Hasil: </span></strong><span lang="EN-US">Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perbedaan perlakuan berpengaruh nyata terhadap konsumi, kecernaan dan protein kasar dapat dicerna (P&gt;0,05) dan tidak berpengaruh terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik serta bahan kering dan bahan organik tercerna (P&lt;0,05). Kecernaan protein kasar P1, P2 dan P3 berturut-turut 72,33%, 75,17%, dan 77,13%.</span></p><strong><span lang="EN-US">Kesimpulan: </span></strong><span lang="EN-US">Pakan P3 untuk penggemukan DEG dihasilkan konsumsi dan kecernaan protein kasar yang lebih tinggi dan efisien dari pada P1.</span>

Abstract:
Background: Melanocyte-keratinocyte transplant procedure (MKTP) successfully repigments postburn leukodermic scars. Objective: To further investigate the efficacy and limitations of MKTP for treatment of mechanically and chemically induced leukodermic scars. Methods: Ten patients with mechanically or chemically induced, depigmented or hypopigmented scars were preoperatively evaluated with Wood’s light examination, treated with MKTP, and followed for at least 6 months, with monitoring of repigmentation and colour matching. Results: Nine patients attended at least 6 months of follow-up. Six patients showed no fluorescence of scars under Wood’s lamp. All patients whose lesions didn’t fluoresce displayed less than 50% repigmentation, with 5 of 6 attaining 0% to 24%. Of the 3 patients displaying bright or some fluorescence, more than 95% repigmentation was achieved in 2 patients (skin phototypes V and VI), while less than 24% was attained for the third (skin phototype II). Conclusions: In this small case series, lack of fluorescence in leukodermic scars may be a useful negative prognostic indicator for MKTP, but additional trials are needed to verify that this is not due to melanocompetency.

Abstract:
<p><strong>Abstract.</strong> Due to the multiplicity of tombs in the area and the work of early archaeologists in Deir el-Bahari, the necropolis resembles a Swiss cheese. In addition, most of these monuments and their remains (coffin fragments, human remains, subsidiary structures) were left unpublished. A century later, the major purpose of the Middle Kingdom Theban Project of University of Alcala (MKTP-UAH) –led by the moudir (i.e. “director” in Arabic) Antonio Morales– is to document, understand, and publish all these monuments and findings left behind by previous expeditions. Such publications will shed light not only on the necropolis and owners of the monuments, but will also help to understand the beginning of the so-called Middle Kingdom, a golden age of the pharaonic period with a significant and impressive architecture. In fact, most of archaeologists take these tombs as patterns for this golden age, without taking into consideration that we do not know much about them.</p>

Abstract:
The US Pharmacopeia gives recommendations for the storage of pharmaceuticals in terms of mean kinetic temperature (MKT). This study's goal was to determine if color-changing time–temperature indicator (TTI) labels can reliably monitor the MKTs of medications used in ambulances. TTI labels and miniature electronic temperature recorders were placed into the drug storage boxes in five advanced life support units over 12 summer weeks in 1995 and in three advanced life support units over 4 weeks the following winter. The electronic temperature recorders measured temperatures several times per hour, and the color changes of the TTI labels were analyzed periodically. The MKTs calculated from the TTI labels differed from those calculated from the electronic temperature recorders in all cases by less than 1° C. The authors concluded that TTIs can accurately measure the MKTs of medications used in ambulances. A TTI label on each medication container may help insure that drugs are not damaged by temperture conditions.

Zusammenfassung. In den letzten zehn Jahren sind eine Reihe von psychotherapeutischen Interventionen entstanden, die sich als „metakognitiv“ bezeichnen. Dazu zählen unter anderem die Metakognitive Therapie nach Wells, die Metacognitive Reflection and Insight Therapy und das Metakognitive Training. Begriffliche Unschärfe und Überschneidungen führten zunehmend zu Unsicherheiten, wie diese neuen Konzepte einzuordnen und von bereits bestehenden abzugrenzen sind. Der vorliegende Artikel hat das Ziel zunächst eine Übersicht über den Begriff „Metakognition“ zu geben, metakognitive Ansätze in Bezug zur klassischen kognitiven Verhaltenstherapie einzuordnen und schließlich die oben genannten metakognitiven Interventionen vorzustellen. Abschließend wird das Metakognitive Training für Depression (D-MKT) als Beispiel für ein metakognitives Training näher vorgestellt und über aktuelle Entwicklungen des D-MKTs berichtet (Zusatzmodule zu Suizidalität, spezielle Versionen für ältere Menschen und für die Zielgruppe von Flüchtlingen).

Abstract:
Control of gene expression in kinetoplastids such as trypanosomes depends heavily on RNA-binding proteins that influence mRNA decay and translation. We previously showed that the trypanosome protein MKT1 forms a multicomponent protein complex: MKT1 interacts with PBP1, which in turn recruits LSM12 and poly(A)-binding protein. MKT1 is recruited to mRNAs by sequence-specific RNA-binding proteins, resulting in stabilization of the bound mRNA. We here show that PBP1, LSM12, and a 117-residue protein, XAC1 (Tb927.7.2780), are present in complexes that contain either MKT1 or an MKT1-like protein, MKT1L (Tb927.10.1490). All five proteins are present predominantly in the complexes, and we found evidence for a minor subset of complexes containing both MKT1 and MKT1L. XAC1-containing complexes reproducibly contained RNA-binding proteins that were previously found associated with MKT1. Moreover, XAC1- or MKT1-containing complexes specifically recruited one of the two poly(A)-binding proteins, PABP2, and one of the six cap-binding translation initiation complexes, EIF4E6–EIF4G5. Yeast two-hybrid assay results indicated that MKT1 directly interacts with EIF4G5. MKT1–PBP1 complexes can therefore interact with mRNAs via their poly(A) tails and caps, as well as through sequence-specific RNA-binding proteins. Correspondingly, MKT1 is associated with many mRNAs, although not with those encoding ribosomal proteins. Meanwhile, MKT1L resembles MKT1 at the C terminus but additionally features an N-terminal extension with low-complexity regions. Although MKT1L depletion inhibited cell proliferation, we found no evidence that it specifically interacts with RNA-binding proteins or mRNA. We speculate that MKT1L may compete with MKT1 for PBP1 binding and thereby modulate the function of MKT1-containing complexes.

Abstract:
The Melanocyte Keratinocyte Transplantation Procedure (MKTP) is an effective surgical replacement of lost melanocytes in recalcitrant vitiligo and pigmentary skin disorders. However, it is only effective in stable vitiligo lesions because active autoimmunity destroys the newly transplanted melanocytes. Despite careful selection of candidates based on the reported clinical stability, the success of the procedure is still unpredictable. MKTP candidates with non-segmental, segmental, and mixed vitiligo, as well as hypopigmented scars and Piebaldism patients were enrolled to our studies. Our aim was first, to investigate the possible immunological mechanisms responsible for the unpredictable post- transplantation outcomes, including T cell subsets and inflammatory chemokines, by correlating these biomarkers with clinical phenotypes, duration of stability, and surgical outcomes. We used suction blister biopsy, a minimally invasive technique that we developed to sample human skin. Moreover, we quantified transplanted melanocytes in the suspension using flow cytometry. Following MKTP, we corelated these biomarkers to the repigmentation score. We found that CD8+ T cells remain in some clinically stable vitiligo lesions, correlate negatively with the post-surgical score of repigmentation, and inversely impact the durability of the responses. Interestingly, the number of transplanted melanocytes in the suspension and the duration of stability do not have prognostic roles. Based on our findings and in a second group of patients, we suppressed the activity of T cells to enhance the outcomes of MKTP. We used Ruxolitinib, JAK1/2 inhibitor, in a triple blinded randomized controlled within subject study, in comparison with Tacrolimus (a calcineurin inhibitor and the standard of care treatment in vitiligo) as well as placebo control. We found lower T cell infiltrate, lower chemokines, and better skin repigmentation in lesions treated with MKTP plus Ruxolitinib or Tacrolimus than in lesions treated with MKTP plus placebo. Lastly, we compared two different types of laser in preparation of the recipient skin for MKTP - ablative versus fractional Er:YAG laser. We found that the ablative laser is combined with minimal CD8+ T cell epidermal infiltrate and superior repigmentation score in comparison to more infiltrate and lower repigmentation score with the fractional laser. Taken together, these results from our studies provide novel insight to predict the optimal surgical candidates and will improve surgical outcomes. It advances the treatment of vitiligo by uncovering the impact of autoimmunity on the success of repigmentation and discovering new approaches to optimize the surgical treatment options in patients with vitiligo and pigmentary skin disorders.

La principale caracteristique de la phosphorylation des proteines cellulaires est sa reversibilite. Dans la cellule, il existe une balance entre la phosphorylation (assuree par des kinases) et la dephosphorylation (assuree par des phosphatases) des proteines. Une modification de cette balance est a l'origine d'une grande partie des mecanismes permettant la transmission des signaux extracellulaires vers le noyau. Les phosphatases sont generalement divisees en trois grandes familles : les serine/threonine phosphatases, les tyrosine phosphatases et les phosphatases a double specificite. Map kinase phosphatase-1 (mkp-1), mkp-2 et mkp-3 sont tous trois membres de la nouvelle famille des phosphatases a double specificite (dsp) qui arborent la sequence consensus : (i/v)hcxagxxr(s/t)g. Ces mkp ont la propriete de dephosphoryler in vitro comme in vivo un substrat archetype, la p42/p44mapk. Afin de determiner l'impact de ces phosphatases sur la regulation des mapk ainsi que leur role dans la proliferation, nous avons entrepris leur etude dans le systeme bien defini des fibroblastes d'hamster chinois, les ccl39. Dans un premier temps, nous avons demontre (i) qu'une forme ectopique de mkp-1 (1-) se localise dans le noyau de cellules quiescentes ou stimulees. (ii) que cette forme surexprimee est capable de bloquer des activites nucleaires de la p42/p44mapk, la transcription de genes de la transition g1/s et enfin la replication de l'adn des cellules transfectees. Dans un second temps, nous avons entrepris la production d'anticorps polyclonaux diriges contre mkp-1 et mkp-2. Nous avons ainsi caracterise les voies de signalisation conduisant a l'expression de mkp-1 et de mkp-2 dans les cellules ccl39. La voie ras/mapk est suffisante pour

Abstract:
This diploma thesis deals with an application of the finite element method on elastohydrodynamic (EHD) lubrication simulations. Commercially available software COMSOL is used for the computation, while two different modules for modeling EHD lubrication are described in a detail. Firstly, a new approach using the module Thin-Film Flow is developed, considering and describing some limitations of this approach. This is the very first published work dealing complex with EHD simulation in Thin-Film Flow module. In the second part of the thesis, there was created a model of line contact using the module for the introduction of partial differential equations (PDE). The model is partially verified with available works for different values of the input parameters. Subsequently, the velocity effect of the contact surfaces on the pressure and the lubricant thickness in contact is analyzed. Finally, the last part is examines the influence of the values of some parameters on the final value of the contact pressure and the lubricant thickness, as well as on numerical stability of the entire model.

Abstract:
This diploma thesis deals with the storage tanks for petroleum products. The introductory part is devoted to the distribution of the storage tanks, associated standards and maintenance of tanks. Another part goes about the analysis of real case of a tank collapse. There was created a 3D model of the collapsed tank according to the measured values in the tank. It was created a tank shell model by drawing documentation and analysis of the results of the accident investigation using the finite element method (FEM) by program ANSYS. Calculation was performed on the buckling resistance of the structure according to ČSN EN 1993-1-6 and its comparison with the results of FEM analysis in ANSYS. The aim of the study was to find the critical condition of the structure and determination of the critical internal underpressure and overpressure. At the end there were determined measures for safe operation and settings of the valve members.

Abstract:
This master thesis is focused on computational modelling of critical external as well as internal pressure acting of the repaired tank. During cleaning of pipelines, the gas mixture entered into this storage tank causing loss of integrity in the connection between the roof and the shell. The first part of the thesis is focused on check calculation of the shell in exceptional conditions. The next part describes the repair of the tank including check of the pillar according to ČSN EN 1993 1 1 and ČSN EN 1993-1-6. The main part of the thesis is focused on determination of the buckling resistances of the tank in original as well as repaired state using ANSYS Mechanical software. The results are comparable with original tank, whose buckling resistance was not decreased due to the repair.

Abstract:
State-of-the-art hand gesture recognition methods have investigated the spatiotemporal features based on 3D convolutional neural networks (3DCNNs) or convolutional long short-term memory (ConvLSTM). However, they often suffer from the inefficiency due to the high computational complexity of their network structures. In this paper, we focus instead on the 1D convolutional neural networks and propose a simple and efficient architectural unit, Multi-Kernel Temporal Block (MKTB), that models the multi-scale temporal responses by explicitly applying different temporal kernels. Then, we present a Global Refinement Block (GRB), which is an attention module for shaping the global temporal features based on the cross-channel similarity. By incorporating the MKTB and GRB, our architecture can effectively explore the spatiotemporal features within tolerable computational cost. Extensive experiments conducted on public datasets demonstrate that our proposed model achieves the state-of-the-art with higher efficiency. Moreover, the proposed MKTB and GRB are plug-and-play modules and the experiments on other tasks, like video understanding and video-based person re-identification, also display their good performance in efficiency and capability of generalization.

ABSTRACT Background: One of strategic goals of the Population and Family Planning Board for the 2015-2019 period is to increase active family planning participants using the Long-Term Contraception Method (MKJP). This method is emphasized by the government because it is the most effective way to reduce the birth rate. However, the data show that the interest in using MKJP by women of fertile age is still lower than that of using non-MKJP. This study aimed to determine the factors that influence the selection of MKJP among fertile aged women at public health center, Depok, West Java. Subjects and Methods: This was an analytic observational study with a cross sectional design. The study was conducted at Sukmajaya public health center, Depok, West Java, Indonesia, from March to May 2019. A sample of 84 reproductive-age women was selected for this study. The dependent variable was choice of long term contraception. The independent variables were age, education, knowledge, income, employment status, number of children, and husband support. The data were collected by a questionnaire and analyzed using a multiple logistic regression. Results: The choice of long-term contraceptive method increased with age > 35 years (OR = 2.84; 95% CI= 0.86 to 9.42), high education (OR= 3.40; 95% CI = 0.51 to 22.67), the number of children ≥ 3 (OR = 1.25; 95% CI= 0.36 to 4.38), working mothers (OR= 4.98; 95% CI= 1.06 to 23.40), income> Minimum Regional Wage (OR= 0.21; 95% CI= 0.05 to 0.85), high knowledge (OR= 5.01; 95% CI= 1.33 to 18.85), and strong husband support (OR= 2.04, 95% CI= 0.34 to 11.44). Conclusion: Factors that influence the choice of long term contraception methods are age, education, number of children, employment status, income, knowledge and support of husbands. Um dos problemas mais conhecidos de otimização combinatória, que possui diversas aplicações práticas, é o problema da mochila multidimensional (MKP). Apesar de sua popularidade e da demanda por soluções de alta qualidade, este é um problema N P-difı́cil, o que leva à necessidade de buscar estratégias alternativas para obtenção de boas soluções em tempo viável. Neste contexto, as metaheurı́sticas se destacam, visto que têm sido bem sucedidas na resolução de diferentes problemas difı́ceis, inclusive do MKP. Neste trabalho, são propostas duas implementações usando GPGPU do algoritmo de otimização por enxame de partı́culas (PSO). A redução nos tempos de execução dos programas GPGPU em comparação com a versão sequencial foi relevante, o que mostrou a eficácia do uso de estratégias de paralelização com a metaheurı́stica estudada.

Given an undirected graph, the Maximum k-plex Problem (MKP) is to find a largest induced subgraph in which each vertex has at most k−1 non-adjacent vertices. The problem arises in social network analysis and has found applications in many important areas employing graph-based data mining. Existing exact algorithms usually implement a branch-and-bound approach that requires a tight upper bound to reduce the search space. In this paper, we propose a new upper bound for MKP, which is a partitioning of the candidate vertex set with respect to the constructing solution. We implement a new branch-and-bound algorithm that employs the upper bound to reduce the number of branches. Experimental results show that the upper bound is very effective in reducing the search space. The new algorithm outperforms the state-of-the-art algorithms significantly on real-world massive graphs, DIMACS graphs and random graphs.

Abstract:
The dynamic wetting of water nano-droplet with evaporation on the heated gold substrate was examined using molecular dynamics simulation. Various substrate and droplet pre-heated temperatures were calculated to obtained different evaporating rates. Water molecules attachment-detachment details were traced near the contact line region to show the microscopic details and evidences for the spreading-evaporating droplet. The increasing substrate temperature greatly affected the dynamic wetting process, while the initial temperature of water droplet had very limited effects. The effects of free surface evaporation on wetting kinetics for both hydrophobic and hydrophilic substrates were examined. The radius versus time curves agree well with the Molecular kinetic theory (MKT) for spreading without evaporation and deviate from the MKT for the spreading with evaporation. The enhancement on wetting kinetics due to evaporation can be attributed to the reducing of liquid-vapor surface tension and the strengthening in water molecules transport in contact line region and bulk droplet.
