Abstract:
The revolution of minimally invasive techniques from the last two decades lead to minimally invasive aortic valve replacement. Minimal “J” shaped sternotomy extended in to the 4 intercostal space provides good access to the aortic root and the possibility to connect the patient to the extracorporeal circulation machine without the use of new instruments. We present a 69-year-old patient that presents in to our clinic with degenerative aortic valve disease with severe stenosis and mild regurgitation. Minimally invasive aortic valve replacement was performed with success in our clinic, being a safe and efficient procedure. This technique could become the standard procedure for isolated aortic valve replacement, with substantial benefits regarding respiratory function.

Abstract:
Many authors in the literature have studied the age replacement problem and its various modifications. One, generally, is asked to assume that at any time there is an unlimited supply of items available for replacement. This is often not a very realistic assumption. In this article we will examine a generalized age replacement model with age-dependent minimal repair when replacements are constrained by two simple inventory model. Various special cases are included. A numerical example is given to illustrate the method.

Abstract:
Considering the importance of PM (preventive maintenance) in reliability engineering, the formula is given to calculate spare demand rate for the policies of age replacement policy, minimal maintenance policy and block replacement policy. And average spare demand rate was analyzed for age replacement policy, and an approximate empirical formula with PM interval and parameters of Weibull distribution was given compared to CM(corrective maintenance) and PM. Otherwise, compared to minimal maintenance policy and block replacement policy, the demand rate was analyzed in order to better forecast the spare parts demand.

Abstract:
In this article I review two analyses of English existential constructions – the Case-transmission analysis and the expletive-replacement analysis – from the perspective of Chomsky's (1993, 1995) minimalist framework. I show that neither approach is free from empirical problems and that adopting minimalist program can reconcile these difficulties and account for more extensive data as well. I propose that LF feature-raising theory that I adopt here should be more economical than it is now, for example, in Chomsky (1995) so that only the relevant ‘checkable’ features raise at LF. My discussion concerns English existential constructions and Object Shift in Icelandic. In particular, I discuss (a) specificity, (b) scope and (c) negative polarity item licensing and show that the category-raising analysis of the associate of an expletive raises problems concerning these three aspects. The analysis presented in the article will be further supported by facts about predicate raising constructions.

Abstract:
Introduction: Minimal access aortic valve replacement plays a significant role in modern cardiac surgery. The technical evolution of aortic bioprostheses, particularly sutureless valves, leads to simplify minimal access aortic valve surgery and it allows easier implantation in a narrow work field with the need of less manipulation. Aim: The aim of this study is to summarize the historical and technical aspects of minimal access aortic valve replacement, especially concentrating on sutureless valves, and to present data of own patients of the authors. Method: Pre- and post-operative data of 13 minimal access aortic replacement cases who were operated at the Deparment of Cardiac Sugery at the University of Szeged are summarized. Results and conclusions: As compared to full sternotomy, minimal access aortic surgery is safe, and it does not require special instrumentation. It is technically more demanding but it can be learned quickly, and the overall pre- and post-operative results are not worse with the benefit of less pain and superior cosmetics. Orv. Abstract:
In this paper we introduce the concept of repair replacement. Repair replacement is a maintenance policy in which items are preventively maintained when a certain time has elapsed since their last repair. This differs from age replacement where a certain amount of time has elapsed since the last replacement. If the last repair was a complete repair, repair replacement is essentially the same as age replacement. It is in the case of minimal repair that these two policies differ. We make comparison between various types of policies in order to determine when and under which condition one type of policy is better than another.
