Abstract:
By the reaction of 1-(3,4-dimethoxy)phenylcycloalkanmethan- and 4-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)tetrahydropyran-4-methanamines with benzo[ d ][1,3]dioxol-5-carbonyl chloride corresponding N -substituted benzo[ d ][1,3]dioxol-5-carboxamides were synthesized. Cyclization of the latter with phosphorus oxychloride gave dihydroisoquinolines reduced with sodium borohydride to the corresponding spiro-substituted tetrahydroisoquinolines, whose methylation according to Eschweiler-Clark reaction gave N -methyl derivatives. By condensation abovementioned amines with benzo[ d ][1,3]dioxol-5-carbaldehyde Schiff bases were synthesized. The reduction of the latter with sodium borohydride gave the corresponding secondary amines - non-cyclic analogues of tetrahydroisoquinolines, which undergo cyclization under the conditions of the Eschweiler-Clark reaction to form N -benzodioxolmethyl-substituted tetrahydroisoquinolines.

Eine der berücksichtigten Gruppen waren die Zikaden (Homoptera, Auchenorrhyncha), da sie als Primärkonsumenten hinsichtlich Abundanzen, Artenspektrum und ökologischer Einnischung auch für die Bioindikation von größerer Bedeutung sind (vgl. He is presented as one who accommodated Roman Catholic theology and philosophy with National Socialism in the early 1930s. Alongside such thinkers as Michael Schmaus and Karl Eschweiler, Pieper's name appears as evidence for the Catholic pursuit of rapprochement with the Nazi State. N,N-dimethyl-1-adamantane was synthesized from amantadine through Eschweiler-Clarke reaction, The optimal ratio of amantadine, formic acid and formaldehyde was 1:5:4, and the reaction time was 18 h at 98°C.The product yield was 93.4% on these conditions. N,N,N-trimethyl-1-adamantyl quaternary ammonium salt then was synthesized, the product yield was 90.5%, succeeding eco-friendly procedure technology was developed. N,N,N-trimethyl-1-adamantyl quaternary ammonium hydroxide was obtained finally, target product yield was 84.3%.The structure of compounds were characterized by1H NMR,13C NMR, MS and GC-MS.

In den Jahren 2012 bis 2018 wurden im Fauna-Flora-Habitat-Gebiet „Eschweiler Tal und Kalkkuppen“ (Stadt Bad Münstereifel, Kreis Euskirchen, Nordrhein-Westfalen) die Weichtiere (Schnecken und Muscheln) erfasst. Der Untersuchungsschwerpunkt lag auf den Laubmischwäldern, Kalkmagerrasen sowie Kalkfelsen, Gewässern und Nasswiesen. Von den 72 im Gebiet festgestellten Arten werden 18 in den Roten Listen Deutschlands und Nordrhein-Westfalens geführt. Besonders bemerkenswert ist der Nachweis der in der Nordeifel bisher sehr selten gefundenen Maskenschnecke (Isognomostoma isognomostomos) sowie der in NRW vom Aussterben bedrohten Quendelschnecke (Candidula unifasciata). Die Weichtiergemeinschaften der verschiedenen Lebensraumtypen entsprechen in ihrer Artenzusammensetzung historischen Schilderungen aus dem Untersuchungsraum wie auch den Erkenntnissen aus anderen Landschaften. Die Daten belegen den Erfolg wie auch die Notwendigkeit der Fortführung der naturschutzorientierten Pflege insbesondere des Offenlandes.

Abstract:
This review presents a summary of reactions that take place during the “Leuckart-type reaction”. The significance of, as well as recent advancements in, the synthesis of amines through simple and inexpensive methods using readily available raw materials is discussed. This review includes all catalytic and noncatalytic reactions that involve the Leuckart method. Recent studies have shown that at least a quarter of C–N bond-forming reactions in the pharmaceutical industry are occur with the support of reductive amination. Recently, experimental conditions have achieved excellent yields. The “Leuckart-type reaction” is technically associated with Eschweiler–Clarke methylation. Compounds are grouped in accordance with the precept of action. This includes drugs affecting the central nervous system, cardiovascular system and gastrointestinal tract; anticancer drugs, antibiotics, antiviral and antifungal drugs; drugs affecting anxiety; convulsant, biotic, and HIV drugs; and antidiabetic drugs. Therefore, this review supports the development of the Leuckart-type preparation of nitrogenous compounds, as well as their advancement in other areas of human development.

Abstract. Passive seismic analyses are a key technology for the exploration and monitoring of subsurface reservoirs. Searching for alternative resources in the framework of the energy transition is creating a surge for identifying as many potential sites as possible suitable for geothermal exploitation. The Lower Rhine Embayment, at the western border of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany, is an extensional system with a very high potential for geothermal exploitation. The area experiences moderate but continuous natural seismicity. Here, we report on a passive seismic dataset recorded with 48 seismic stations centred at and around Eschweiler–Weisweiler (https://doi.org/10.14470/MO7576467356, Finger et al., 2022). Background seismic noise levels are high at this site due to high levels of anthropogenic noise and thick unconsolidated sedimentary layers. The final station layout is a compromise between targeted network design and suitably quiet locations. We show that the network design allows for the application of state-of-the-art methods including waveform-based source location methods and ambient-noise velocity imaging methods.

Crisscross cycloaddition of citronellal azine (6) with 2 equiv. of TFA and powdered 3 Å molecular sieves in CH2Cl2 at reflux for 22 h afforded 37% of the desired C2-symmetric hydrazine 7 and 5%–10% of diastereomer 8 in which one of the 6–5 ring fusions is cis. Methylation of the hydrazine of 7 and reduction of the resulting salt (9) with Li in NH3 cleaved the N—N bond to give secondary tertiary amine 10 in 97% yield. Eschweiler–Clarke methylation afforded the C2-symmetric bis tertiary amine 11 in 69% yield. Racemic products were obtained in initial attempts at asymmetric catalysis using 7 or 11 as asymmetric bases, using bistertiary amine 11 as a ligand analogous to sparteine for alkyllithiums, or using the lithium amide from secondary tertiary amine 10 as an asymmetric base. Apparently, the proton is buried in the core of 11, leaving a hydrophobic surface; the free counterion is not an asymmetric catalyst. Diamine 11 may be too hindered to complex to s-BuLi. Tertiary amine 11 (pKa1 = 24.7) is more basic than DBU (pKa = 24.3) in CH3CN, in good agreement with theory.Key words: crisscross cycloaddition, azine, dipolar cycloaddition, calculation of pKa.

Series of alkyl esters of 6-diethylamino-, 6-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)-, 6- (piperidin-1-yl) and 6-(morpholin-1-yl)hexanoic acids and alkylamides of 6-dimethylamino-, 6-(piperidin-1-yl) and 6-(morpholin-1-yl)hexanoic acids, containing 8-12 carbon atoms in the alkyl chain, were prepared by methods of classical organic synthesis. The appropriate secondary amine was alkylated with ethyl-6-bromohexanoate to give ester of ?-substituted hexanoic acid, except of ethyl-6-dimethylaminohexanoate (1), which was prepared by Eschweiler-Clarke methylation of 6-aminohexanoic acid followed by direct esterification with ethanol. The resulted esters of ?-substituted hexanoic acids underwent direct transesterification with long chain alkanols to yield the desired amino esters, or they were treated with long-chain alkylamines to prepare secondary amides of the appropriate heterocyclic hexanoic acids. These products were in vitro tested on their activity as transdermal permeation enhancers on the strips of the excised human skin with theophylline as the model permeant. The activity was evaluated using parameter enhancement ratio (ER), defined as the ratio between the overall amount of the permeant passing through the skin with the tested enhancer and that without tested substance. Decyl 6-(pyrrolidin- 1-yl)hexanoate (16) with ER = 30 showed the highest activity. The enhancing effects of the esters were generally better than those of the amides.

Abstract Introduction: Autologous breast reconstruction using the deep inferior epigastric perforator flap has excellent success rates and a natural aesthetic result. Therefore, this method and its management are of great importance in modern oncoplastic surgery. In particular, women who have undergone radiation therapy after mastectomy benefit from this satisfactory and usually uncomplicated method of breast reconstruction. To achieve a desirable outcome, the effects of blood loss and blood pressure management may play an important role. In this analysis, we hypothesize that neither postoperative blood pressure management (using catecholamines) nor the amount of blood loss (defined by the median hemoglobin level difference) will worsen the surgical outcome or increase the complication rate. Patients and Methods: We performed a multicenter, multisurgeon retrospective analysis with the following primary end points: intraoperative blood loss and postoperative blood pressure management. Secondary endpoints included serious complications including flap loss and minor complications. Patients (n=194) were included from 2014-2018 at St. Antonius Hospital in Eschweiler and from 2016 to July 2018 at the Cologne Municipal Breast Cancer Center in Holweide. Patients underwent either unilateral (n=180) or bilateral (n=13) breast reconstructions with DIEP flaps, resulting in a total of n=206 cases. The subgroup regarding blood pressure management was defined by cohorts with or without catecholamine administration and included all n=206 cases. Blood loss was defined by median hemoglobin level difference and could be calculated in n=199 cases. The cohorts of the two subgroups were comparable. Results: Six flap losses were detected in a total of 206 cases (2.9%). The distribution of flap losses in the blood pressure management subgroup was not statistically significant (p=.67), while the test was not available for the blood loss subgroup. Furthermore, the analysis showed that there were no significant differences in the rates of overall complications related to the amount of blood loss intraoperatively (p= .06) or blood pressure management postoperatively (p= .19). Conclusion: DIEP flap surgery is a safe method for autologous breast reconstruction, independent of blood loss and blood pressure management.
