Abstract:
Patriarchal capitalism shows the dominance of men in the various life sector. Feminism, as a style, demands gender equality. This research aims to understand body autonomy in a short story "Wanita Muda di Sebuah Hotel Mewah" with Sara Mills' feminist perspective. This descriptive qualitative method took the data from the short story written by Hamsad Rangkuti in 2016, published by Senja. This research observed the subjects, objects, and readers via reading and note techniques. The results showed that the sixteen-year-old woman became the object. The woman did not have any autonomy over her body. The other problem was the economic problems that made her sold his virginity. The self-trafficking process of the hotel officer made the officer the subject. The third matter, the beauty of the body and the virginity, was the co-modification that had price value. The fourth, the woman could not control her body. The feminist interpretation, based on Sara Mills, in the short story, showed that the woman became the object, the guess, and the hotel officer as the subject. The position woman also had the reader's position, the hotel officer, and the hotel guest.

Abstract:
The authors investigate the effect of location on the nightly hotel room rates charged in Las Vegas. Using a hedonic estimation approach, the authors control for room amenities and hotel and time characteristics. Including 6087 hotel room nights for hotels located near the Las Vegas Strip in two different years (2012 and 2017), the authors estimate the relationship between hotel location and nightly room rates. Consistent with prior investigations, the authors find strong evidence for the effect of location, amenities, and day of week on hotel prices, with a “Strip premium” of 40.21% (US$106.85 at the mean hotel price) for hotels located within 0.25 miles of the Las Vegas Strip compared to hotels beyond 0.75 miles of the Strip. They estimate a Center-of-Strip premium of 70.23% (US$186.61 at the mean hotel price) for hotels located within 0.75 miles, 36.89% (US$98.01) for the next 0.75 miles, and 18.89% (US$50.18) for the next 0.75 miles, compared to hotels beyond 2.25 miles.

Abstract:
Abstract This study is an attempt to describe the current condition of the watermills situated in the river valleys of the Silesian voivodeship. Changes in the number and distribution of mills from the late 18th century until the 20th century have been presented (as exemplified by the Liswarta River basin in the northern part of the voivodeship). Watermills have been discussed both as industrial monuments that document the history of the milling industry and as tourist attractions. Currently, working mills that serve the local population in rural areas are a rarity, and working watermills are unique sites that should be protected as industrial monuments that constitute an important part of our cultural heritage. They are among those industrial monuments that are particularly vulnerable to destruction. Such mills increasingly attract the interest of industrial tourism promoters. Activities aimed at promoting watermills as cultural heritage sites and leading to their protection and preservation as part of the river valley landscape have also been discussed. In the Silesian voivodeship, there are many watermills that deserve attention; some of these are listed in the register of monuments maintained by the National Heritage Board of Poland. Unfortunately, most disused mills are falling into disrepair and are slowly disappearing; only a few have been preserved in good condition. Many of these have long histories and they are also situated in areas attractive for tourists. There is no doubt that watermills should be preserved. Their inclusion in open-air museums is not the only solution – any form of protection in situ by putting them to different uses is also valuable. Changing the function of a mill to serve as a hotel, restaurant, cultural centre, etc. makes it possible to maintain these sites as parts of river valley landscapes.

Abstract:
On the last day of May 1872, “three respectably, but not ostentatiously dressed Chinamen” arrived at the Charing Cross Hotel, London. They brought with them three letters and four heavy boxes for presentation to Her Majesty, Queen Victoria. While they waited for a reply to their letters and for an opportunity to present the boxes, they toured London, visiting the Mint, Woolwich Arsenal, Newgate Prison, the Enfield Ordnance Factory, the Powder Mills at Waltham Abbey, the Post Office and the Bank of England. At the end of July they were informed that Her Majesty's Government could not accept the proposals outlined in their letters and that Her Majesty could not receive the boxes. On 21 September 1872, the three Chinese departed, leaving behind the four sealed boxes. Thus appeared to end one of the more bizarre episodes in nineteenth-century Anglo-Chinese relations.

Abstract:
This study finds that hotel location significantly contributes to the property market value. With a sample of more than 600 hotel sales transactions within the Chicago Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), the theory that properties located closer to the city center, that is, the Loop, carry market value premiums is tested and supported by the data. Despite being the predominant spatial value driver for hotels, the effect of proximity to the city center is found to be heterogeneous. An additional mile away from the Loop decreases property value by 13% on average when the hotel is located within the 10 miles from the Loop. However, value decreases at a much lower pace when hotels are located outside this 10-mile buffer. Other spatial variables, such as access to transportation systems and neighborhood dimensions, show that accessibility and environment play a lesser but decisive role in hotel market value. Practitioners and researchers may benefit from these findings mostly when comparing and analyzing hotel market values in a context similar to the urban structure of Chicago.

Abstract:
This study aims to analyze the management of food waste in the hotel sector with a focus on reducing the amount of food waste produced. The research method used is a qualitative method with the Miles and Huberman Model approach. Primary data was obtained through in-depth interviews with 22 respondents from FnB hospitality practitioners, experts, customers, and Foodbank institutions, using a purposive sampling technique. The results show that food processing in the hotel sector is carried out efficiently, but there are differences in the number of food waste per customer. Challenges in Food Waste Management (FWM) include unpredictable sales fluctuations, lack of customer awareness, and food wastage. Effective strategies to reduce food waste involve inventory management, employee training, customer education, and collaboration with Foodbank institutions. FWM has significant economic, social, and environmental impacts. FWM has direct links to the three Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2, SDG 12, and SDG 13) on eradicating hunger, responsible consumption and production, and climate action. Managerial implications for hotels based on these conclusions include implementing an effective monitoring and reporting system related to FWM, collaboration with Food Rescue agencies, and encouraging customer participation through education and incentives.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine factors affecting the engagement metrics of the hotel Facebook page. Such factors include time-of-day, day-of-week, age, gender and distance between the hotel and users’ origin of residence. Another purpose is to assess the impact of Facebook engagement on electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM), to better understand the importance of the engagement metrics within the hotel Facebook context. Design/methodology/approach This study uses secondary data from the Facebook page of a 147-room hotel in Northeast America. A total of 181 observations reflecting primary Facebook metrics are adopted via Facebook Insights between January 2014 and June 2014. Findings The number of daily-engaged users positively affects the number of daily people talking about the page (eWOM). Moreover, the number of engaged users differs significantly by the external factors (time-of-day, day-of-week, age, gender and distance). Practical implications Hotel Facebook developers should post the most important promotions on Monday afternoon, targeting females aged between 25 and 34 years living within 50 miles of the hotel. Posting on hotel Facebook a few hours before “traffic” to avoid competition and gain visibility is important. Marketers should focus on giving feedback during peak times. Originality/value This empirical study extends prior studies on social media metrics to the effects of external factors on the engagement metrics within the hotel Facebook context. Increasing the number of engaged users improves the effectiveness of eWOM for a hotel, which lacks empirical evidence.

The impact of tourism industry activities can cause various environmental problems that are detrimental to various parties. This is a social burden, which must be taken seriously. Environmental Management Accounting is a concept that helps companies contain business impacts in the form of monetary units. The application of Environmental Management Accounting helps companies deal with environmental problems by recording all production activities to be reported in the company's environmental cost report. Although until now there is no standard that requires full environmental accounting disclosure. The research methodology uses case studies. This research aims to develop a model in the form of an accounting policy that contains the concept; emphasize relationship patterns and clarify environmental management accounting practices in the hotel industry. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model. The research results show that environmental management accounting is still considered necessary because it does not affect the business climate. In addition, the relationship between a company's environmental performance presented in the company's accountability report and its financial or economic performance is still doubtful.

It is the main and important element to be fulfilled, water becomes the primary need in all elements of life of living things so that they can continue to live life and all its activities. Besides that water is also in secondary needs as a means of transportation. Even water is also able to become a recreational facility so that water can also be said as a complement to tertiary needs. Water covers almost 71% of the Earth's surface. There are 1.4 trillion cubic kilometers (330 million miles) available on Earth. Viewed from the point of view of public health, the average volume of water requirements for each individual per day ranges from 150-200 liters or 35-40 gallons. The water requirements vary and depend on the climate, living standards and habits of the people. Reduced population of vacant land results in the availability of land to be reduced and limited. This makes the opportunity for hotel and apartment properties to increase. For some large cities, the presence of hotels and apartments is increasing every year, of course this will have an impact on the needs and availability of clean water that must be available every day. Because this research is very important to make an effort that is able to minimize the use of ground water by saving water and recycling water methods. The effort is able to be a solution to the efforts to create efficient use of ground water. Exactly this Water Management Infrastructure Engineering is carried out in the Grand Taman Melati Margonda Apartment 2. With a total unit reaching 939 units. This research is intend to empirically examine the important role of online review management in an attempt to improve service quality dimensions based on SERVQUAL model in Puri Santrian Beach Resort & Spa. Data were collected from online review platform, Trip Advisor, and using Miles & Hubberman qualitative data analysis which consist of three concurrent flow of activities: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Analysis results indicates that there are still a lot of negative comments regarding the service quality dimension that occurred repeatedly. It is caused by poorly managed online customer review. The management did not completely solve the problem from its’ roots which caused the same problem in the future. It implies that online review management plays a very important role in an attempt to improve service quality. The hotel management should focus on improving service quality dimension through online review management which leads to customer satisfaction.

Abstract:
When my family discusses how we should spend a summer holiday, we start from certain common understandings about our preferences. We prefer self-catering accommodation to hotels, and hotels to campsites. We prefer walking and looking at scenery and wildlife to big-city sightseeing and shopping. When it comes to walks, we prefer walks of six miles or so to ones which are much shorter or much longer, and prefer well-marked but uncrowded paths to ones which are either more rugged or more popular. And so on. These common understandings greatly simplify the task of choosing between holiday destinations and activities, by allowing us quickly to eliminate many options. But what does it mean to say that we prefer one thing to another?

The Trail research happened between Beauty Spot, Tennessee and Mountain Harbor Hostel, Tennessee, about 50 miles. Both Virginia and North Carolina had restricted access to the Appalachian Trail, but Tennessee was open. I engaged in ethnographic fieldwork amongst long-distance hikers still in the midst of their trek. In addition, I interviewed a hostel owner. In late June, after Virginia opened access to the Appalachian Trail, I traveled to Damascus and conducted more interviews. I also accessed hiker blogs, gathering first-hand accounts of experiences related to the Appalachian Trail during the initial stage of the pandemic. Abstract:
A brief moment in karen tei yamashita's recent novel i hotel (2010) resurrects a crucial fragment of asian american literary history. Yamashita's book—part send-up and part recounting of actual events—pays homage to and reimagines the multiple paths that were critical to the late-1960s and 1970s Asian American movement. In a small yet important scene, I Hotel highlights how the development of an Asian American literary canon was entwined with the production of heroic masculinity. Three men drive four hundred miles to visit Dorothy Okada, widow of the author John Okada, on a mission of archival recovery and masculinist “heroics” (96). Their adventure begins when one of the men discovers Okada's 1957 novel No-No Boy (now a canonical work) and a letter that mentions the possible existence of an unpublished manuscript by Okada. Ultimately, the trip is unsuccessful. “What happens next,” the narrator tells us, “is history” (97). Confronted by the lack of public interest in Okada's work, Dorothy has burned his papers, and the disappointed men can only ask ridiculously inappropriate questions about the couple's marriage and sexual relationship. In this story, the men who set out to become heroes of Asian American literary studies are thwarted by a woman's failure to preserve the text, and they reduce Dorothy to a supporting role. Yet in recapturing the gendered division at the heart of this defining moment in Asian American literary history, I Hotel also reminds us of other narrative, methodological, and theoretical paths. “As time drags on,” the narrator muses a few pages earlier, “other events step up to the plate, and one begins to wonder why any fork in the road presented the less traveled option” (95).

Wicker, C. F. "HISTORY OF NEW JERSEY COASTLINE." Coastal Engineering Proceedings 1, no. 1 (May 12, 2010): 33. http://dx.doi.org/10.9753/icce.v1.33.

Abstract:
The New Jersey coast probably is the most important recreational asset in the nation. This is due in part to the nearby densely populated metropolitan areas that experience unpleasantly hot and humid weather during the summer months. New York and its satellite communities, having a combined population of approximately 13 million, is only 50 miles from the nearest and 160 miles from the most remote of the 57 resort towns that dot the 125-mile length of New Jersey seashore. The Philadelphia metropolitan area, with a population of approximately 4 million, lies 60 miles from the nearest resort and only 86 miles from the farthest. But it is not merely geographic proximity to large numbers of people and the compulsion of uncomfortable weather at home that attracts 4 million vacationers and a great many one-day excursionists to the New Jersey seashore resorts each year. Nearly all of the 125 miles of shoreline is a satisfactory sandy bathing beach, and about 80% of it is open to the public at no charge. The ocean is not polluted, its temperature is approximately 700 throughout the summer months, and its surf is not dangerous. The 57 resort communities collectively offer a great variety of accommodations ranging from luxurious hotels to modest boarding houses and tourist camps, and the surroundings include highly developed areas, as at Atlantic City, as well as localities remaining in a natural condition. The development of this shoreline as a recreational resource began nearly two hundred years ago, at Cape May.

Abstract:
Literary realism focuses on everyday people, issues, characters, settings and situations that are real. Some writers engage realism to document their real-life experiences. The readers as well tend to gain access to real life events as vivid as the writers can recollect them. Fictitious approaches are avoided completely in these narrations. This is done to ensure that the readers can identify with the stories being narrated. Hence, the 1994 genocide has been the major focus of contemporary Rwanda prose narratives. They project the experiences of the people before, during and after the genocide. Also, some authors document their experiences as suggested by their therapists, because it usually helps as one of the coping mechanisms for trauma. This study delves into the analysis of two post-genocide prose narratives. It adopts the use of postcolonial and trauma theories as the tools for conceptualizing, understanding and interpretation of these prose narratives. Marie Béatrice Umutesi’s Surviving the Slaughter: The ordeal of a Rwandan Refugee in Zaire and Edouard Kayihura’s Inside the Hotel Rwanda: The Surprising True Story and Why It Matters Today are autobiographies, they depict the causes of the genocide, the outcomes, specifically on the victims and hopefully the solutions. Edouard Kayihura suffers harrowing experiences of perpetual fear, oppression and extortion inside the Hotel des Mille Collines, this is his own truth, debunking the inaccuracies of the movie Hotel Rwanda. While, Marie Béatrice Umutesi, a Hutu woman witnesses and experiences inexplicable brutality and hardship. She endures the pains as she journeys towards safety. This study interrogates the contributions of political hegemony and identity crises to varying degrees of trauma and explains that the experiences and pains of these writers are factual. It also establishes that these prose narratives serve dual purposes of correcting a false claim and projecting the pain of a Hutu woman, a unique diversion from the popular focus on the Tutsis.
