Abstract:
Rapid transit systems or metros are a popular choice for high-capacity public transport in urban areas due to several advantages including safety, dependability, speed, cost, and lower risk of accidents. Existing studies on metros have not considered appropriate holistic urban transport models and integrated use of cutting-edge technologies. This paper proposes a comprehensive approach toward large-scale and faster prediction of metro system characteristics by employing the integration of four leading-edge technologies: big data, deep learning, in-memory computing, and Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). Using London Metro as a case study, and the Rolling Origin and Destination Survey (RODS) (real) dataset, we predict the number of passengers for six time intervals (a) using various access transport modes to reach the train stations (buses, walking, etc.); (b) using various egress modes to travel from the metro station to their next points of interest (PoIs); (c) traveling between different origin-destination (OD) pairs of stations; and (d) against the distance between the OD stations. The prediction allows better spatiotemporal planning of the whole urban transport system, including the metro subsystem, and its various access and egress modes. The paper contributes novel deep learning models, algorithms, implementation, analytics methodology, and software tool for analysis of metro systems.

Abstract:
The effect of urbanization of Metro Manila, particularly on the amount of sensible heat flux, rainfall and temperature of selected urban and rural areas, was investigated using the Weather Research and Forecasting Version 3.4.1 (WRFV3.4.1) model. National Center for Environmental Prediction - Final (NCEP-FNL) grib1 data from 2000 to 2010 were used as inputs into the model for meteorological data. The Mann–Kendall trend test (M–K test) was utilized to verify the significance of the trends while Sen’s slope estimator was used to quantify the measured trends. Results showed that, on average, the sensible heat flux of Metro Manila is about 1.5 × 108 Jm−2 higher than in selected areas outside Metro Manila. The occurrence of an urban heat island (UHI) effect was detected in Metro Manila by comparing the difference in the minimum and maximum temperatures. For the selected urban and rural areas, the minimum and maximum temperature differences (relative to Metro Manila) are around 0.4 to 2.4 °C and 0.83 to 2.3 °C, respectively. Metro Manila recorded higher 11-year average values of rainfall during the summer season (8% to 64%), rainy season (15% to 305%), and transition season (8% to 232%) when compared with selected areas from 25 to 100 km from Manila. These results show that the sensible heat flux, temperature and rainfall in Metro Manila is affected by Metro Manila’s urbanization.

It is calculated that the total heat is released in metro fire and the mass of ice, liquid nitrogen and dry ice are needed when the temperature is decreased to 60°C. Ice is the best option among the three through comprehensive analysis from mass, volume, transportation, storage and so on. Research on cooling technology of emergency rescue in metro fire can do contribution to reduce metro fire casualties.

Taking the Hongqi west road station construction of Dalian metro line 2 as an example, the regularities of the temperature and the smoke concentration distribution are analyzed. Basing on FDS, the simulation model of the metro station fire is set up. Assume six fire points in the station to simulate the smoke diffusion velocity and the personnel evacuation time in fire. Results show that the chimney effect is obvious at the back of the station. The highest temperature of every export is 180°C and the lowest temperature is 40°C during the effective duration. The time duration can meet the needs of the personnel evacuation from the fire metro station. Basing on the analysis of variation of the smoke flows and the temperature, the metro station project is reasonable.

Efficient calculation on passenger evacuation performances under emergencies is crucial to the planning, design, and operation of metro systems as it is closely related to the safety of human lives. Four calculation methodologies including the China CDM, NFPA 130, control volume, and M/G/c/c models and a multiagent-based simulation approach are employed to calculate the evacuation time under a given number of evacuees in different application backgrounds by investigating impact factors and strategies of evacuation as well as moving speed of evacuees. The M/G/c/c model and multiagent-based simulation approach are also used to identify the bottleneck of evacuation in metro stations. A case study for the Xizhimen metro station in Beijing is carried out to validate the effectiveness of these methodologies to planners, designers, and operators in practice. The results show that the former two methodologies are concise quantitative methods while the latter ones are more capable of assessing the whole process and details of evacuation.

This study aims to analyze profitability and added value of catfish processing products. This research is case studies on La Tansa, Oseri and Osta Food Agroindustry for the reason of that catfish processing products are one of the regional superior products in Metro City. The study was conducted in February-March 2018 in which data was analyzed by quantitative analysis. The results showed that profitability ratios obtained by La Tansa Agroindustry was 48.27% in abalone catfish products and 23.58% in catfish bone crackers products. Whereas the profitability ratios of Agroindustry Oseri amounted to 51.14% in abalone catfish products and 34.62% in catfish bone crackers products. The revenue from the total cost per month in La Tansa Agroindustry was Rp2,174,546.67 on abalone catfish products and Rp518,161.67 in catfish bone crackers products. Whereas, Agroindustry Oseri Rp5,617,646.62 on abalone catfish products and Rp2,188,286.71 on catfish bone crackers products. AbstractFire is one of the most common disasters that threaten the safety of the crowd in metro stations. Due to the variations in the design of metro stations, the hazard posed by the spreading products of the fire can pose different risks. The typical structures of metro stations in Guangzhou and Washington, D.C., are very different from each other. In Washington, D.C., the “high-dome” structure is predominant in the construction of metro stations, while in Guangzhou, most metro stations have the “flat ceiling” structure. In this article, a numerical modeling for fire dynamic simulation is used to predict and compare the spreading characters of fire products (the smoke height change, the temperature distribution and the visibility change) when fires with 2.5 MW heat release rate occur in the platform center and at the platform end in the two kinds of metro stations. The results show that, in the same fire scenario, the lowest smoke heights monitored in the Guangzhou model is 0.6 m (fire at the platform end) and 0.8 m (fire in the platform center) above the safe smoke height in 360 s after a fire breaks out, while it is 6.15 m (fire in the platform center) and 6.2 m (fire at the platform end) above the smoke height in the Washington model. The temperature increment in the Guangzhou model is 23 °C (fire in the platform center) to 29 °C (fire at the platform end) in 360 s after the fire breaks out, while the temperature increment in the same period in the Washington model is 8.5 °C (fire at the platform end) to 9 °C (fire in the platform center). The visibility of most areas on the platform of the Guangzhou model is about 1 m no matter the fire is in the platform center or at the platform end at 360 s after the fire begins, while in the Washington model, the visibility of most areas is 1.5–13.5 mm (fire at the platform end) to 4–14 m (fire in the platform center) at the same moment. Based on the results, the environment is worse when the fire happens at the end of the platform than that when the fire happens in the platform center of the Guangzhou model. While the fire location has fewer impacts on the smoke height, temperature, and visibility in the Washington model, metro stations with a high-dome structure can be beneficial to fire evacuation safety; however, the construction cost can be high. Metro stations with flat ceiling are widely used in more cities for it has lower construction cost; to compensate for its weaker abilities under fire conditions, it is suggested that smoke exhaust systems should be carefully and fully considered.

This present study aims to determine the performance of using the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Model, coupled with the urban canopy models (UCMs), in simulating the 2 m air temperature and 2 m relative humidity in Metro Manila. The simulation was performed during a high heat event on 22–29 April 2018, which coincided with the dry season in the Philippines. The four urban canopy model options that were used in this study include, the bulk (no urban), SLUCM, BEP, and BEM. The results of the simulations were compared with the hourly observations from three weather stations over Metro Manila from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Integrated Surface Dataset (ISD) and one agrometeorological station in Naic, Cavite. After model validation, the urban heat island (UHI) was then characterized to determine the spatial-temporal variations in the cities of Metro Manila. Statistical results show that the WRF simulation for 2 m air temperature agrees with measurements with an RMSE of <3.0 °C, mean bias error of <2.0 °C, and index of agreement of >0.80. WRF simulation for relative humidity still presents a challenge where simulation errors are higher than the acceptable range. The addition of UCMs does not necessarily improve the simulation for 2 m air temperature, while the use of BEP improved the 2 m relative humidity simulation. The results suggest the importance of using actual urban morphology values in WRF to accurately simulate near-surface variables. On the other hand, WRF simulation shows the presence of urban heat islands, notably in the northwest and central area of Metro Manila during daytime, extending throughout Metro Manila during nighttime. Lower air temperature was consistently observed in areas near Laguna Lake, while higher air temperature due to stagnant winds was observed in the northwest area of Metro Manila. High heat index was also observed throughout Metro Manila from daytime until nighttime, especially in areas near bodies of water like Manila Bay and Laguna Lake due to high humidity.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pendapatan usahatani cabai merah, struktur biaya usahatani cabai merah, harga pokok produksi cabai merah, dan sensitivitas usahatani cabai merah di Kecamatan Metro Kibang Kabupaten Lampung Timur. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei. Lokasi penelitian menggunakan dua desa yang dipilih secara sengaja (purposive) yaitu Margototo dan Kibang. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah 65 petani cabai merah yang dipilih simple random sampling. Pendapatan usahatani cabai merah dianalisis dengan menggunakan nisbah R/C, stuktur biaya usahatani cabai merah dianalisis dengan persentase dari biaya produksi, harga pokok produksi dianalisis dengan metode full costing, serta sensitivitas usahatani cabai merah dengan simulasi terhadap penurunan produksi, penurunan harga, dan peningkatan total biaya produksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendapatan rata-rata atas biaya total usahatani cabai merah di Kecamatan Metro Kibang Kabupaten Lampung Timur yang diterima petani sebesar Rp85.617.642,88 per hektar. Besarnya nilai R/C atas biaya total adalah 2,83 yang berarti setiap penambahan Rp100,00 biaya total yang dikeluarkan akan menghasilkan penerimaan sebesar Rp283,00. Nilai R/C yang lebih besar dari satu berarti bahwa usahatani cabai merah di Kecamatan Metro Kibang menguntungkan untuk diusahakan dan layak untuk diusahakan kembali.. Struktur biaya yang dikeluarkan untuk biaya variabel lebih tinggi dibandingkan biaya tetap, dengan struktur biaya yang terbesar yaitu biaya tenaga kerja sebesar 44,01%. Harga Pokok Produksi (HPP) cabai merah perkilogram di Kecamatan Metro Kibang Kabupaten Lampung Timur sebesar Rp6.327,30 lebih kecil dari harga jual rata-rata cabai merah sebesar Rp17.868,72. Hasil analisis sensitivitas usahatani cabai merah terhadap penurunan produksi, penurunan harga, dan peningkatan total biaya produksi memberikan nilai pendapatan yang positif pada usahatani cabai merah.

A complete tour of metro users consists of their journeys inside the carriage and various activities outside the carriage, in particular, those in or around metro station areas (MSAs). To fathom out the spatiality and magnitude of those activities, which involve substantial interactions among people or with urban spaces, we assume that (a) metro users who spent 30 min or more together in or around the same MSA would physically interact with at least another person there; (b) the more an MSA sees metro riders co-presenting there the higher social interaction potential (SIP) there is; (c) SIP of an MSA is positively correlated with the number of distinct riders co-presenting in that MSA. By exploiting two-day metro smartcard data of Wuhan, China, we use the number of distinct riders co-presenting in that MSA to measure and visualize the MSA-level SIP in that city. Our visuals show the SIP varies across MSA and time of the day. Some MSAs have higher SIP in the daytime whereas other MSAs have higher SIP at the nighttime. Few MSAs continuously have high SIP. These results inform us where and when SIP would be the highest and the lowest across MSAs, which can facilitate metro operators’ monitoring and management of MSAs on the one hand and help businessmen and officials decide where and when to provide services and/or sell products across MSAs.

The COVID-19 pandemic policies have had a significant impact on the daily commuter flow at the metro rail transit stations. In this study, we propose a modified state-dependent M(n)/G(n)/C/C queuing model for the analysis of commuter flow in the corridor of metro rail transit stations in the COVID-19 situation in order to ensure safe social distance. The proposed model is a finite capacity queuing system with state-dependent commuter arrivals and state-dependent service rates based on the flow–density relationship. First, a mathematical queuing model is developed by using the birth–death process (BDP) and the expected number of commuters, and average area occupied per commuter and blocking probabilities are computed. Then, the accuracy of the proposed model is verified by a discrete-event simulation (DES) framework. (1) The proposed model’s results are compared to those of the existing M/G(n)/C/C model. The proposed modified model’s sensitivity analysis revealed that the anticipated number of commuters in the corridor remains smaller when the arrival rate is state-dependent. (2) In accordance with COVID-19 protocol, when the facility is congested, commuters are discouraged from entering and a safe social distance is maintained between them. (3) No commuters are impeded, and adequate throughput is ensured from the corridor. The proposed model will assist the metro rail transit station operators in making intelligent decisions regarding the operations in the COVID-19 situation.

<p>Due to rapid urbanization, Metro Manila is facing many environmental challenges with its continuous accelerating urban growth rate. According to 2010 census of population Metro Manila accounts about one-third of the total urban population and about 13% of the total national population of Philippines. The impact of urban growth of the Metro Manila to its urban environment relating on demography, solid wastes problem and problems in water bodies as well as air pollution and greenhouse gas emissionis emphasized here in this study. The flood prone areas within the Metro Manila is about 31%, most of the risk areas located along creeks, river banks or coastal areas. Metro Manila produces total garbage equivalent to 25% of the national waste generation in which about 17% is paper wastes and about 16% are plastics. In terms of water quality classification the upper reaches of the Marikina River is of Class A, but all remaining river systems are of Class C. Accordingly, the classification of Manila Bay is of Class SB. Similarly, the quality of ambient air of the Metro Manila is also poor. Using 2010 as base year, the major contributor to greenhouse gas is from vehicular emissions followed by the stationary sources. An urgent need is felt to incorporate environmental issues into planning its urban area to reduce the risks of further environmental degradation.</p><p><strong>Journal of Advanced College of Engineering and Management</strong>, Vol. 3, 2017, Page: 79-92</p>

Primary and secondary data were collected in November 2017–Mei 2018. The research data are analyzed byincome analysis and multiple linear regression analysis with Cobb-Douglass production function. The results of this research showed that onion farming at first cultivation season and second cultivation season was profitable for farmers in Metro City, R/C value of total cost was about 1.43 and 1.53. The present study aims to create groups of symmetrical autonomous metro lines that are united by common features. An integrated six-step methodology which proposes a new aggregated approach for multi-criteria evaluation of fully autonomous metro systems was proposed. The first step determines the criteria to assess the autonomous metro system. Eight criteria connected to the safety, infrastructural and technological development of the autonomous metro system were chosen. In the second step, 20 fully autonomous metro systems in European countries were selected as alternatives. The determination of the criteria weights was performed in the third step based on objective, subjective and combined approaches. For this purpose, the Shannon Entropy method and BWM (Best Worst method) were applied. The fourth step presents the ranking of the autonomous metro system by using multi-criteria methods. Three approaches were studied: distance-based, utility-based and outranking approaches. The distance-based approach includes the TOPSIS (Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) and EDAS (Evaluation Based on Distance from Average Solution) methods; the utility-based approach includes MOORA (Multi-Objective Optimization on the Basis of Ratio Analysis) and COPRAS (COmplex PRoportional Assessment) methods; the outranking approach includes the PROMETHEE (Preference Ranking Organization METHod for Enrichment of Evaluations) method. The final ranking based on the new aggregative approach was carried out in the fifth step. Thus, Laplace’s criterion was applied to the final ranking. The Hurwitz’s criterion was used to verify the results. In the sixth step, the verification of the results was performed by applying cluster analysis. In was found that Line 1 in Paris is the best. Line 14 in Paris and Line D in Lyon were ranking in the second and third position, respectively. The autonomous metro in Brescia, Line C in Rome, and Line M2 in Lausanne were placed at the end of the ranking. Finally, four clearly formed groups of autonomous metro were proposed. The novelty of this study and its main advantage entails the elaboration of a new aggregated approach of multi-criteria methods, evaluation of the autonomous metro systems’ performance and determination for the groups of symmetrical autonomous lines in European countries.

Using Jan Assmann’s concept of cultural and communicative memory to explore the creation and reproduction of cultural memory through movement, Memory and Movement in the Roman Fora from Antiquity to Metro C illuminates the enduring influence of ancient street networks on the modern cityscape. The Forum Romanum and the neighboring Imperial Fora were places of memory in antiquity and are major tourist sites today, but they had different relationships to urban movement networks in the past. Amy Russell argues that the pattern of long-term continuity and recent change in each area’s relationship to the wider city and its movement patterns are direct consequences of the way cultural heritage has been consumed and cultural memory constructed through movement.

Abstract Background Until recently, metronidazole was the first-line treatment for Clostridioides difficile infection and it is still commonly used. Though resistance has been reported due to the plasmid pCD-METRO, this does not explain all cases. Objectives To identify factors that contribute to plasmid-independent metronidazole resistance of C. difficile. Methods Here, we investigate resistance to metronidazole in a collection of clinical isolates of C. difficile using a combination of antimicrobial susceptibility testing on different solid agar media and WGS of selected isolates. Results We find that nearly all isolates demonstrate a haem-dependent increase in the MIC of metronidazole, which in some cases leads to isolates qualifying as resistant (MIC &gt;2 mg/L). Moreover, we find an SNP in the haem-responsive gene hsmA, which defines a metronidazole-resistant lineage of PCR ribotype 010/MLST ST15 isolates that also includes pCD-METRO-containing strains. Conclusions Our data demonstrate that haem is crucial for medium-dependent metronidazole resistance in C. difficile.

Bentuk resistensi yang dilakukan oleh Narapidana di Lapas Metro terbagi atas resitensi terbuka dan resistensi tertutup. Bentuk resistensi terbuka berupa penyerangan terhadap petugas, protes, kerusuhan, lobi-lobi 86, berbohong/alibi, tidak mengikuti pembinaan, penghormatan semu dan berpurapura. Sedangkan bentuk resistensi tertutup berupa pergunjingan, penyeludupan,peredaran dan menyembunyikan barang terlarang, penyimpangan seksual sampai upaya pelarian. Resistensi ini merupakan bagian daripada pola adaptasi yang kebanyakan bersifat menyimpang.

This article aims to identify and analyze the Taman Merdeka Kota Metro as the object of the cultural heritage structure. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method, with historical and archaeological approaches. The results showed that the Taman Merdeka Kota Metro met the criteria for cultural heritage as stated in Article 5 and Article 8 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2010 concerning Cultural Heritage. The criteria that are met are: a) over 50 years of age; b) represents a style period of at least 50 years; c) has a special meaning for history and education; d) have cultural values for strengthening the nation's personality; e) have a single element and become one unit with the urban spatial landscape; f) its placement is integrated with natural formations. So based on historical and archaeological perspectives, it can be concluded that Taman Merdeka Kota Metro deserves to be proposed for its status as a Cultural Heritage Structure.

This study aims to analyze (a) the process of learning Arabic using online games , (b) the psychological condition of students before and after using online games, (c) students' Arabic skills .This study model uses a Mixed-Method. Research respondents were class V MIN 1 Metro and MIN 1 Lampung Timur students, which collected 70 students from each Madrasah. The data collection tool used in this study consisted of three instruments, namely interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The findings of this study that 99.4% of students respond with positive behavior when using online games, and only 0.6% of students respond with negative behavior. Furthermore, using online games improves the psychological condition of students at MIN 1 Metro by 64.75% and at MIN 1 East Lampung students by 64.39%. In addition, the use of online games has increased learning outcomes in Arabic by 39.00% for MIN 1 Metro students and 36.38% for MIN 1 students in East Lampung.

Metode penelitian menggunakan clustering Fuzzy C-Means dengan menghitung jarak data ke pusat Centroid menggunakan rumus Euclidean Distance. Populasi data dalam penelitian ini adalah 350 mahasiswa semester 1-7 dengan mengambil data nilai mata kuliah Mobile Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Application Development, dan Enterprise Resourcing Planning. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 126 data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 126 sampel yang terdiri dari 63 mahasiswa program studi Teknik Informatika (TI) terdapat 16 mahasiswa dalam Cluster 1 (Sangat Rendah), 11 mahasiswa masuk kategori Cluster 2 (Rendah), 14 mahasiswa masuk kategori Cluster 3 (Sedang) dan 22 Mahasiswa masuk Cluster 4 (Tinggi). Artocarpus plant dadah Miq. is one of the species of Artocarpus of the Moraceae family that belongs to a rare plant in nature. This plant is known as the main source of phenolic derivative compound that is flavone compound in or tri-oxygenated and terisoprenilasi in C-3 position , and also known as the main source of phenolic compound derived flavonoids, aryl-benzofuran, stilbenoid and xanthane flavonoida, which have biological activity as promoters antitumor, antibacterial, antifungal, antiimflamatori, antikanker and others. This study aimed to isolate and identify the phenolic compounds contained in plant A . dadah obtained from the village of Purwoasri, North Metro District, Metro City, Lampung Province. Research stages include collection and sample preparation and extraction, isolation, and purification of compounds using KCV method, flash chromatography , KKG, and TLC, while the identification of compounds is performed using ultraviolet-visible (UV-VIS) and infrared (IR) spectroscopy. In the present study, three compounds were isolated, one of which was estimated to be flavonoid compounds based on UV-VIS and IR spectra data which also had high activity against murine leukemia P-388 cells with IC 50 3.1 μg / mL. Based on the IR spectral data for the other two compounds there is a -OH uptake in the region of 3200-3500 cm -1, C = C aromatic uptake in the area of 1600-1400 cm -1 , so it is estimated that both compounds are phenolic group compounds.Tumbuhan Artocarpus dadah Miq.merupakan salah satu spesies Artocarpus dari famili Moraceae yang termasuk tumbuhan langka di alam. Tumbuhan ini dikenal sebagai sumber utama senyawa turunan fenolik yaitu senyawa flavon di atau tri-oksigenasi dan terisoprenilasi pada posisi C-3, dan juga dikenal sebagai sumber utama senyawa fenolik turunan flavonoid, aril-benzofuran, stilbenoid dan santon turunan flavonoida, yang memiliki aktivitas biologi sebagai promotor antitumor, antibakteri, antifungal, antiimflamatori, antikanker dan lain-lain.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan mengidentifikasi senyawa fenolik yang terkandung dalam tumbuhan A. dadah yang diperoleh dari desa Purwoasri, Kecamatan Metro Utara, Kota Metro, Provinsi Lampung.Tahapan penelitian yang dilakukan meliputi pengumpulan dan persiapan sampel kemudian ekstraksi, isolasi, dan pemurnian senyawa menggunakan metode KCV, kromatografi flash, KKG, dan KLT, sedangkan identifikasi senyawa dilakukan menggunakan spektroskopi ultraungu-tampak (UV-VIS) dan inframerah (IR). Pada penelitian ini telah berhasil diisolasi tiga senyawa, yang salah satunya diperkirakan senyawa flavonoid berdasarkan data spektrum UV-VIS dan IR yang juga memiliki aktivitas tinggi terhadap sel murine leukemia P-388 dengan IC50 3,1 μg/mL. Berdasarkan data spektrum IR untuk dua senyawa yang lain terdapat serapan –OH pada daerah 3200-3500 cm-1, serapan C=C aromatik di daerah 1600-1400 cm-1, sehingga diperkirakan kedua senyawa tersebut merupakan senyawa golongan fenolik.

Populasi dalam riset ini seluruh kelas VIII SMP Kartikatama Metro, pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu cluster random sampling atau pengambilan dilakukan secara acak yaitu terpilih kelas VIII A selaku kelas eksperimen dengan perlakuan model Problem Based Learning serta kelas VIII C selaku kelas kontrol dengan perlakuan model pembelajaran langsung yang mewakili populasi. Metode pengumpulan informasi dalam penelitian ini ialah menguji setelah itu dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif serta inferensial memakai uji-t (Independent Sample t-test). Abstract:
Background. Asthma is a chronic pulmonary disease that affects about 300 million people worldwide. Previous studies have associated antimicrobial use with allergies, but the real impact of antibiotics on asthma is still elusive. We investigated the potential impact of amoxicillin (Amox), trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (TMP/SMX), and metronidazole (Metro) in a murine model of OVA-induced allergic airway inflammation. Methods. BALB/c mice received three cycles of 7 days of antibiotics in drinking water followed by 7 days washout and were sensitized i.p. with OVA/Alum at days 0 and 14. After the end of the last antibiotic washout, the mice were challenged with aerosolized OVA. Pulmonary parameters were evaluated, and serum, BAL, and feces were collected for analysis. Results. Amox- and TMP/SMX-treated animals displayed more severe allergic airway inflammation parameters with increased airway hyperresponsiveness, reduced lung alveolar volume, and increased levels in BAL of IL-4 and IL-6. In contrast, Metro-treated mice showed preserved FEV-50, decreased lung inflammation, and higher levels of butyrate and propionate in their feces. Metro treatment was associated with increased OVA-specific IgA in serum. BAL microbiota was abundant in allergic groups but not in nonallergic controls with the Amox-treated group displaying the increased frequency of Proteobacteria, while Metro and TMP/SMX showed increased levels of Firmicutes. In the gut, we observed the enrichment of Akkermansia muciniphila associated with reduced airway inflammation phenotype in the Metro group, even after the recovery period. Conclusion. Our data suggest that different antibiotic treatments may impact the course of experimental allergic airway inflammation in diverse ways by several mechanisms, including modulation of short-chain fat acids production by intestinal microbiota.

Brownis pisang merupakan panganan kue yang menggunakan pisang sebagai bahan utama dalam pembuatan. Dengan memanfaatkan komoditas Lampung, berupa pisang lokal, dapat meningkatkan nilai jual bagi brownis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar keterampilan tata boga materi pembuatan brownis pisang bagi anak dengan tunagrahita ringan dengan mengunakan model pembelajaran Eksplicit Instruction. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMALB – C Negeri Metro dengan jumlah dua peserta didik kelas XII. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan Januari hingga Maret 2017. Penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research). Kegunaan penelitian tindakan yaitu untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar keterampilan tata boga. Terdapat dua siklus, yang memiliki empat kegiatan utama yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Analisis keberhasilan penelitian dilakukan secara individu yaitu per indikator untuk setiap anak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar keterampilan tata boga materi pembuatan brownis pisang pada anak dengan tunagrahita ringan kelas XII SMALB- C Negeri Metro yang dilakukan dengan model pembelajaran Eksplicit Instruction. Algorithms for current automatic train operation (ATO) focus mainly on reducing the mechanical energy of motion for a single train within an existing timetable. However, the reuse of regenerative energy is another factor that contributes to energy consumption and conservation in multitrain networks. To improve regenerative energy receptivity and energy savings in a bidirectional metro transit network, this study formulated a coordinated train control algorithm that was based on genetic algorithm techniques. The energy saving potential of different station departure time intervals between two opposing trains (synchronization time) was tested. Simulation on the Visual C++ platform demonstrated that the algorithm could provide an optimal train speed profile with better energy performance while also satisfying operational constraints. Different synchronization times have different optimization ratios. This research was another step to facilitate the development of an ATO control algorithm that considers overall energy consumption. Increased knowledge of the influence of synchronization time at stations on energy consumption in regenerative multitrain networks will also aid in the design of more energy-efficient timetables.

The article analyzes the characteristics of the construction of the Bolshaya Koltsevaya line (Large Circle Line) of the Moscow Metro from the point of view of the transportation process planning. The authors have studied the characteristics of all operating depots of the Moscow Metro that justify the plans for the construction of two new depots (Aminievsky and Nizhegorodsky), as well as the reconstruction of one of the existing depots (Zamoskvoretsky), located within the city limits of Moscow – inside the Moscow Automobile Ring Road (MKAD), in the vicinity of the Third Transport Ring and beyond. For the needs of modeling, the station-to-station length of the closed Bolshaya Koltsevaya line was measured, subject to the transfer of a train traffi c section from the Delovoy Tsentr station to the Khoroshevskaya station of the projected Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya metro line. Based on the measurement fi ndings, the station-to-station travel times along the closed Bolshaya Koltsevaya line were calculated, which subsequently made it possible to determine the number of electric rolling stock units required to service the Bolshaya Koltsevaya line in the morning rush hour

Metastable austenitic stainless steel type 301LN is widely used for fabrication of structural components of Metro Coaches. The steel exhibits both high strength and enhanced plasticity due to strain hardening as well as formation of strain-induced martensite (α) during cold deformation (TRIP effect). The current market requirement, as projected by many of the ongoing Metro Rail Projects in India, calls for manufacture of this steel with ultimate tensile strength (UTS) in excess of 1000 MPa and yield (YS/UTS) ratio of less than 0.8, as this would facilitate substantial reductions in tare weight and crash-worthiness of metro coaches. The typical property requirements in high temper (HT) as per one typical Metro Coach specification are: Yield Strength (YS) ~ 751-921 MPa, Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS) ~ 1001-1151 MPa, Elongation ~ 22% min, Hardness ~ 36 HRC max and YS/UTS ratio <0.8. previous="" plant="" experience="" has="" shown="" that="" the="" maximum="" attainable="" uts="" in="" this="" grade="" through="" cold="" rolling="" is="" only="" to="" tune="" of="" 970="" mpa="" and="" any="" excess="" deformation="" severely="" impairs="" both="" ductility="" 22="" hardness=""> 36 HRC) beyond acceptable limits. In the present work, an innovative thermomechanical processing (TMP) methodology has been evolved for the attainment of this seemingly unlikely combination of properties through experimental cold rolling and short annealing simulations in Gleeble 3500 C thermomechanical simulator. The novel process methodology entails imparting heavy cold reductions (CR) of 45-50% in Sendzimir Mill followed by brief/ short reversion annealing treatments (80-160 s) by means of single furnace operation at 750 °C at standard line operating speeds for 300 series in Annealing Pickling Line-1 (AP Line-1) of Salem Steel Plant (SSP) in India. The improvement in properties (strength-ductility combination) has been attributed to grain refinement through formation of submicron grained austenitic (γ) microstructure by controlled reversion of strain-induced martensite (α) during the short annealing treatment. The process is distinct from conventional long annealing treatments (300-360 s), which are employed to soften the steel after cold rolling by means of recovery and recrystallization processes.

O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar a divergência genética entre populações de pessegueiro e quantificar a contribuição relativa de 13 características na diversidade, utilizando procedimentos multivariados. Foram analisados 179 indivíduos de 15 populações, com número de indivíduos variando de 3 a 64 plantas. As características avaliadas foram: na planta (densidade de nós por metro em ramos mistos, densidade de gemas vegetativas brotadas por metro de ramo, altura da planta e diâmetro do tronco); nos frutos (comprimento, diâmetro médio, firmeza, teor de sólidos solúveis, acidez total titulável, teor de vitamina C, área percentual de recobrimento com pigmento vermelho da epiderme, coordenada 'b' obtida da epiderme e ângulo hue da epiderme). A diversidade genética das populações foi avaliada pelos métodos de agrupamento de Tocher e vizinho mais próximo, utilizando-se a distância de Mahalanobis como medida de dissimilaridade. Foi obtido também o coeficiente de parentesco entre as populações estudadas e a contribuição relativa dos caracteres na variabilidade total. A realização do agrupamento pelo método de Tocher e Vizinho mais Próximo utilizando como medida de dissimilaridade as distâncias de Mahalanobis promoveram a formação de quatro grupos. Entre as populações estudadas, observa-se certo grau de parentesco entre a maioria das possíveis combinações com coeficientes de pequena magnitude (inferior a 0,2). As características que mais contribuíram para a discriminação dos genótipos foram o percentual de vermelho na epiderme, acidez total titulável e altura de plantas. As menores contribuições para a diversidade foram obtidas dos caracteres BRIX, número de nós/metro linear de ramo e vitamina C

This study aims were to analyze the cost structure; revenue, production, and price break even point; and the level of income of rice farming. This research was conducted in Banjarsari Village, North Metro Sub District, Metro District. This research used survey method. The data were taken in April-May 2021. The sample were all members of the Tunas Karya Mandiri Farmer Group amounting to thirty-two farmers. Methods of data analysis are descriptive quantitative. The results showed that the cost structure of the largest variable cost component lies in the cost of labor outside the family by 44.21% and the largest fixed cost component in the cost of land rent by 30.25% of the total cost. The value of the BEP of rice farming revenue was IDR6,071,490.06/ha, the BEP of rice production was 1,607.03kg/ha and the BEP of GKP (Dry Harvested Grain) was IDR 2,061.73/kg. The BEP value is smaller than the actual value received, namely the revenue of IDR18,951,023.90/ha; rice production was 5,018.52 kg/ha, and the selling price of GKP was set at IDR3,778.85/kg. The total income obtained was IDR7,707,474.91/ha with an R/C of 1.69 so that rice farming was profitable and feasible to continue.Key words: Rice, cost structure, break even point, income

Este levantamiento de información consistió en realizar un monitoreo ambiental para medir los diferentes parámetros ambientales tales como: calidad de aire, con un analizador de gases marca RKI modelo EAGLE variables meteorológicas, con una Estación Meteorológica Portátil marca Davis Vantage Vue, la georreferenciación se hizo con un GPS marca GARMIN modelo GPS map60CSx, Para medir el material particulado MP2,5 se utilizó un muestreador marca ECOTCH modelo Mmi vol 1100, la medición del ruido ambiental y ocupacional se hizo con un sonómetro integrador de impulso marca CIRRUS modelo 811 C y los índices de diversidad de la flora se seleccionaron transeptos de 100m de longitud por 10 de ancho ubicados bajo el criterio de muestreo por conveniencia en sectores considerados de la empresa Sudamérica SAC, los datos fueron introducidos en el Programa computacional de BIO DAP para determinar el índice de Shannon-Wiener y el índice de Cody y Routledge. En esta investigación se concluyó: La Molinera Sudamérica S.A.C en su proceso de pilado de arroz presenta un elevado nivel de ruido debido a la comprensora y un elevado índice de material particulado. Abstract Background Fidaxomicin (fidax) is approved for treatment of Clostridioides difficile infection. In February 2018 IDSA/SHEA released updated guidelines suggesting expanded use of fidax, recommending it or oral vancomycin (po vanc) in severe or non-severe initial episodes or for most recurrences. In April 2018, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) relaxed system-wide guidelines to allow for fidax use in the first recurrence of C. difficile or later, with earlier use allowed by ID or GI specialists or with local Pharmacy and Therapeutics Chair approval. Hospitals could continue to be more restrictive if desired. We reviewed changes in fidax, po vanc, and IV/PO metronidazole (metro) use at UPMC hospitals after guideline changes. Methods For the reviewed antibiotics, hospital-level usage was evaluated at 15 UPMC hospitals before/after system-level changes. Usage was measured as days of therapy per 1,000 patient-days (DOT/1,000 PD). Sites were further grouped by the level of restrictions: Standard (following new system guidelines) or more restrictive (additional restrictions remained in place locally). Hospitals were also grouped by type of local stewardship programs (ASP): Robust (included an Infectious Diseases trained clinical pharmacist or ID physician with specific time dedicated to antibiotic review) or Non-Robust. Results Figure 1 shows before/after changes in usage at all hospitals. Figure 2 shows changes in Standard vs. More Restrictive hospitals, and Figure 3 shows changes in Robust vs. Non-Robust hospitals. Conclusion Fidax use remained low, but an increase was seen after the release of the guidelines and relaxation of system restrictions, mainly in hospitals without additional restrictions in place. PO vanc also increased across the system, possibly indicating better adherence to updated guidelines regarding less metro use for C. difficile treatment. Although minimal decrease, if any, was seen with metro itself. This could have been compounded by the recent fluid shortage as well as other common uses for metro. Dissemination of new guidelines to providers should be a key function of ASPs as well as monitoring for changes in usage after implementation of local changes. Further studies are needed to define any differences in practice patterns and clinical outcomes related to changes in guidelines. Disclosures All authors: No reported disclosures.
