Abstract:
W ostatnim czasie nastąpiła intensyfikacja badań nad synestezją z perspektywy różnych dziedzin i dyscyplin naukowych. Wciąż jednak stosunkowo niewiele publikacji dotyczy przekładu synestezji i metafor synestezyjnych. Temu właśnie zagadnieniu poświęcony jest niniejszy artykuł, który stawia sobie za cel przybliżenie strategii przekładu rosyjskich metafor synestezyjnych na język polski. Analiza materiału językowego dotyczy przekładu dwóch odmian metafor synestezyjnych – konwencjonalnych i niekonwencjonalnych (żywych). Pierwsze z nich, jako przejaw uniwersalnych tendencji do kojarzenia wrażeń zmysłowych pochodzących z różnych modalności, często w różnych językach realizują ten sam koncept metaforyczny. Tłumaczenie tego typu asocjacji synestezyjnych polega zatem na wyszukaniu korespondującej metafory. Jeśli taka metafora nie istnieje w języku docelowym, tłumacz zmuszony jest podjąć inne działania, np. wyszukać inną metaforę reprezentującą ten sam koncept lub zrezygnować z metaforycznego charakteru frazy. Jeśli zaś chodzi o metafory żywe, to sprawa na pozór wydaje się prosta. Twórczy i indywidualny charakter tych skojarzeń pozwala bowiem na dokonanie przekładu słowo w słowo. Jak to jednak zostało przedstawione na przykładach polskich tłumaczeń opowiadań Vladimira Nabokova, tłumacze decydują się na przyjęcie innych rozwiązań, często zaskakujących i nie do końca zrozumiałych.

Abstract:
Przenośne użycia czasowników percepcyjnych często dotyczą stanów umysłu, gdyż zmiany semantyczne z reguły przebiegają od konkretów do abstrakcji. Według Sweetser (1991) metafory dotyku odnoszą się nie tylko do „ogólnego zmysłu percepcji, ale są ściśle związane z uczuciami”. Lakoff i Johnson (1980) proponują szerszą metaforę: ODDZIAŁYWANIE TO DOTYK. Zarówno polskie jak i angielskie czasowniki dotyku poddają się metaforyzacji , a ich przenośne znaczenia dotyczą emocji . Ich interpretacje różnią się jednak drastycznie: przenośne użycia angielskiego czasownika touch rozumiane są głównie pozytywnie, natomiast podobne użycia polskiego czasownika dotknąć są interpretowane wyłącznie negatywnie. Przenośne znaczenia czasowników percepcyjnych nie mogą być traktowane jako uniwersalne, lecz zależne od uwarunkowań kulturowych. W oparciu o dane przedstawione w artykule metafora RANIENIE TO DOTYK powinna być dodana do listy metafor dotyku.

Abstract:
Rozumowanie teologiczne oparte na modelu jest obecne w wielu dziedzinach współczesnej teologii. Swoje uzasadnienie czerpie ono m.in. z książki I. Barboura Mity, modele, paradygmaty, w której Autor uprawomocnia stosowanie „modelu” – pojęcia wywodzącego się z nauk nowożytnych – w teologii. Podstawową zasadą tego uprawomocnienia jest analogia. Jacek Kempa w swoim artykule Relacje między modelami w soteriologii. Glossa do dyskusji o komplementarności” przedstawił właśnie takie rozumowanie teologiczne. Jego artykuł stał się inspiracją dla mojej polemiki z samą ideą stosowania modeli w teologii. Mój sprzeciw jest fundamentalny. Otóż wraz z zastosowaniem pojęcia „model” teologia przyjmuje „z dobrodziejstwem inwentarza” cały paradygmat nauki nowożytnej i swoje rozumowania prowadzi wewnątrz zasad logiki matematycznej. Twierdzę, że zastosowana przez Barboura analogia jest nieuprawniona, bo model jako kategoria matematyczna nie tworzy dobrego punktu wyjścia do analogii. Ważnym wątkiem w książce Barboura jest metafora. Udowadnia on, że metafory są po prostu modelami i właśnie jako modele odzyskują w nauce, a zwłaszcza w teologii, pełnoprawne miejsce. Jest to rozumienie metafory charakterystyczne dla filozofii analitycznej. Zupełnie inaczej analizują metaforę dwudziestowieczni filozofowie europejscy. Dla nich metafora jest pełnoprawnym i pierwotnym wyrazem ludzkiego języka. Sądzę, że teologia nie powinna uznawać metafor za modele, ale iść za analizami hermeneutyki europejskiej. Przedstawiony tu mój sprzeciw wobec używania modeli w teologii oraz interpretowania metafor jak modeli jest przyczynkiem do odpowiedzi na zasadnicze pytanie metodologiczne: czy myślenie w paradygmacie nauki nowożytnej, którego najwyższą formą jest matematyka, może stać się myśleniem własnym teologii? Według mnie ‒ nie. Takie myślenie jest czysto przedmiotowe i formalne. Nie ma w sobie żadnego otwarcia na to, co podmiotowe, ani na to, co zmysłowe. Tym bardziej nie jest w stanie posłużyć do wypowiadania „prawdy o Bogu”.

Abstract:
Artykuł ma na celu refleksję nad sposobami konstruowania, typami i funkcjami metafor konceptualnych oraz nad powiązaniami metafory konceptualnej z jej językową realizacją (m. in. przez zjawisko rozkładalności znaczenia). Badania prowadzone są z perspektywy kognitywistycznej. Nacisk zostaje położony na teorie dotyczące metafory konceptualnej, takie jak teoria interakcji metafor, teoria interakcji domen, teoria metafory konceptualnej w propozycji Lakoffa i Johnsona oraz amalgamat pojęciowy. Uwzględnione zostają też metonimia oraz sieciowy model znaczenia. W prowadzonej analizie, która ma charakter jakościowy, następuje próba wskazania na metafory poznawcze obecne w internetowych tekstach tematyzujących konflikt zbrojny w Ukrainie. Korpus tekstowy pochodzi z portalu informacyjnego Onet.pl, który jest jednym z największych portali internetowych w Polsce o znacznym wpływie opiniotwórczym i może służyć jako źródło do wyciągania wniosków lingwistycznych o bardziej ogólnej naturze. Abstract:
Metafora je teoretski problem, ki že dolgo presega meje lingvistike in je tako predmet različnih filozofskih, psiholoških, antropoloških idr. razprav. V lingvistiki je bila metafora dolgo predmet raziskav v retoriki, posebno mesto je dobila v strukturalni lingvistiki, prisotna pa je tudi v različnih pragmatičnih, kognitivnih in besedilnih analizah. V prispevku je v ospredju analiza metafore z lingvističnega vidika, in sicer glede na njeno slovnično oziroma sintaktično strukturo (enobesedne metafore/metaforične besedne zveze, in praesentia/in absentia itn.), pomensko polje (in s tem povezan semantični transfer) ter stopnjo konvencionalnosti (na lestvici med inovativnimi in leksikaliziranimi metaforami). Primere smo zbrali v nekonvencionalnem korpusu: v spletni bazi Razvezani jezik. Gre za slovenski kolaborativni slovar, kjer lahko govorci prosto prispevajo nove besede (formalne neologizme) ali nove pomene že obstoječih besed (semantične neologizme) in je z vidika inovativnosti zato še posebej zanimiv. Rezultati raziskave kažejo, da so v korpusu najpogostejše živalske metafore, prav tako najdemo relativno veliko število reifikacijskih metafor, ki slonijo na metaforični zamenjavi živega bitja z neživim predmetom. Prisotne so tudi fitomorfne oziroma rastlinske metafore, antropomorfne pa so redke. V omenjenih kategorijah najdemo metaforične izraze za karakterne oznake oziroma vedenje ljudi, za dele človeškega telesa, človeška dejanja in splošnejše oznake. Razvezani jezik poleg velikega števila konvencionalnih, leksikaliziranih metafor vsebuje tudi inovativne, t. i. žive metafore, ki vzpostavljajo nove pomene, in zdi se, da je prav beleženje teh rab še posebej pomembno za nadaljnje raziskovanje.

Niniejsze opracowanie ma być szkicem, próbą nowego spojrzenia na filozofię karania przez pryzmat metafor sprawiedliwości naprawczej. Metafora kognitywna – poprzez mechanizm kategoryzacji i tworzenia odesłań między abstrakcyjnymi pojęciami i konkretnym doświadczeniem – pozwala spojrzeć na założenia różnych teorii sprawiedliwości jako na sposoby rozumowania, a nie tylko zbiory twierdzeń. Do najważniejszych metafor sprawiedliwości należy zaliczyć „sprawiedliwość jako równość”, a także odpowiedniki metafor moralności George’a Lakoffa: „surowego ojca” i „opiekuńczego rodzica”, które częściowo korespondują z koncepcjami odpowiednio – sprawiedliwości retrybutywnej i naprawczej. W końcu same mediacje są miejscem, w którym poprzez świadomie stosowane tzw. metafory transformatywne mediator oddziałuje na rozumowanie stron, wpływając na ich wizję konfliktu.

Abstract:
Metaphors of Dawn in Lithuanian and Russian Poetry This article analyzes the realizations of certain basic metaphors of dawn/sunset in the works of twentieth-century Lithuanian and Russian poets. The first part of the article examines important discrepancies between biomorphic, zoomorphic and anthropomorphic metaphors, as well as mythological metaphors. In Lithuanian poetry, dawn/sunset is associated with different objects compared to Russian poetry (wild strawberries and cherry, birds, fish and snakes in Lithuanian poetry; cranberries, melons and apples, birds and animals in Russian poetry). There is a lack of anthropomorphic metaphors for girl or woman in Lithuanian poetry. The associations of dawn/sunset with mythic entities are also entirely different. In the realization of the metaphor of DAWN/SUNSET – JEWELS, DAWN/SUNSET – FABRIC/ITEM MADE of FABRIC, DAWN/SUNSET – METAL/ITEM MADE of METAL, both similarities and significant differences are registered.The second part of the article examines more closely the similarities between the realizations of three basic metaphors, in which the dawn/sunset is interpreted as: 1) fire or blaze; 2) a burning object; 3) liquid.The analyses embraces about 200 poetry texts excerpts: 95 excerpts from the poetry works by 28 Lithuanian authors and 105 excerpts from the works by 30 Russian authors. In both languages, the metaphoric expressions of the first group highlight the bright colors of dawn/sunset; intensity; impression of a burning object. The metaphorization of the dark hues of dawn is specific to the Russian poetry. Semantically close to this group are metaphors of the DAWN/SUNSET – BURNING OBJECT. Dawn/sunset is interpreted as fire, bonfire, holy fire, burning coals, a lantern or torch. The image of the sacrificial fire is more widespread in the Russian poetry than in Lithuanian. In both poetic systems, folkloric images are used to develop the basic metaphor. The realization of the common metaphor DAWN/SUNSET – LIQUID as DAWN/SUNSET – BLOOD is associated with the metaphor SUNSET – DEATH in the Lithuanian poetry, while in Russian poetry – with the metaphor SUNSET – WOUND. The metaphor DAWN/SUNSET – TEAR is equally rare. In the metaphor DAWN – WATER/WATER RESERVOIR, the overlap of the images and relation to the more general metaphor LIGHT – WATER is evident in the both groups. In the group DAWN/SUNSET – CHEMICAL LIQUID. The image of paint (including cosmetics) is widely used in the both poetical systems. In the latter group, one can notice the overlap of the metaphor DAWN – WINE. It is specific to the Russian metaphoric system the use of pickle, cod-liver oil images.The Lithuanian and Russian poetic systems are characterized by both specific and common metaphors of dawn and dusk. These metaphors reveal some differences in the frequency of using various models, as well as in their particular content. Metafory świtu w poezji litewskiej i rosyjskiej Artykuł analizuje realizację pewnych zasadniczych metafor świtu/zmierzchu w utworach dwudziestowiecznych poetów litewskich i rosyjskich. W pierwszej części artykułu omówiono istotne rozbieżności między metaforami biomorficznymi, zoomorficznymi, antropomorficznymi, jak też metaforami mitologicznymi. W poezji litewskiej świt/zmierzch kojarzy się z różnymi obiektami porównywanymi z poezją rosyjską (dzikie truskawki i jagody, ptaki, ryby i węże w poezji litewskiej; żurawina, arbuzy i jabłka, ptaki i zwierzęta w poezji rosyjskiej). W poezji litewskiej brak metafor antropomorficznych w odniesieniu do dziewczyny lub kobiety. Skojarzenia świt/zmierzch z hasłami mitycznymi są także całkowicie odmienne. W realizacji metafor ŚWIT/ZMIERZCH – KLEJNOTY, ŚWIT/ZMIERZCH – TKANINA/ ARTYKUŁ WYKONANY Z TKANINY, ŚWIT/ZMIERZCH – METAL/ ARTYKUŁ WYKONANY Z METALU, odnotowane zostały zarówno podobieństwa, jak i znaczące różnice.W drugiej części artykułu bliżej zbadane zostały podobieństwa w realizacji trzech podstawowych metafor, w których świt/zmierzch interpretowany jest jako: 1) ogień lub blask; 2) palący się przedmiot; 3) płyn.Analiza obejmuje ok. 200 wyjątków z tekstów poetyckich: 95 pochodzi z wierszy 28 autorów litewskich, zaś 105 z utworów 30 rosyjskich autorów. W obu językach wyrażenia metaforyczne z pierwszej grupy uwypuklają jaskrawe barwy świtu/zmierz­chu; intensywność; wrażenie płonącego obiektu. Metaforyzacja ciemnych odcieni świtu właściwa jest poezji rosyjskiej. Semantycznie bliskie tej grupie są metafory ŚWIT/ZMIERZCH – PALĄCY SIĘ OBIEKT. Świt/zmierzch interpretowany jest jako ogień, fajerwerk, święty ogień, rozżarzony węgiel, lampion lub pochodnia. Obraz ognia sakryfikowanego bardziej rozpowszechnił się w poezji rosyjskiej niż litewskiej. W obu systemach poetyckich wyobrażenia folklorystyczne służą do wywołania podstawowych metafor. Realizacja powszechnej metafory ŚWIT/ZMIERZCH – PŁYN jako ŚWIT/ ZMIERZCH – KREW kojarzy się z metaforą ZMIERZCH – ŚMIERĆ w poezji litewskiej, podczas gdy w rosyjskiej – z metaforą ZMIERZCH – RANA. Metafora ŚWIT/ ZMIERZCH – ŁZA jest także rzadka. W metaforze ŚWIT – WODA/ ZASOBNIK WODY nałożenie się na siebie obrazów i relacji z ogólniejszą metaforą ŚWIATŁO – WODA jest oczywiste w obu tych grupach. W grupie ŚWIT/ZMIERZCH – PŁYN CHEMICZNY obraz farby (łącznie z kosmetykiem) jest używany szeroko w obu poetyckich syste­mach. W tej ostatniej grupie można zauważyć nakładanie się na siebie z metaforą ŚWIT – WINO. Właściwe rosyjskiemu systemowi metafor jest użycie obrazów pikle, olej z wątroby dorsza itd.Systemy poetyckie litewski i rosyjski cechują zarówno konkretne, jak i ogólne metafory świtu i zmierzchu. Te metafory zdradzają pewne różnice w częstotliwości używania różnych modeli, a zarazem ich szczególne treści.

Abstract:
Kognitivistični pristop k teoriji metafore izhaja iz spoznanja, da je metafora del človekovega konceptualnega sistema in šele drugotno tudi jezika, saj se v njem zrcalijo mentalni procesi. Metafora je torej prvina spoznavanja in zato nepogrešljiva v znanosti in njenem izrazju, tudi v medicini. Ena izmed najopaznejših značilnosti medicinskega diskurza je terminologija, ki ima poimenovalno (nominativno) in spoznavno (kognitivno) funkcijo. Tako kot drugi jezikovni izrazi se tudi strokovni izrazi oblikujejo v procesu konceptualizacije, tj. na podlagi konceptualnih metafor, ki se v procesu simbolizacije jezikovno realizirajo. Na podlagi analize izbranih zgledov iz medicinskih besedil postuliramo, da je metafora univerzalno prisotna tudi v medicinskem diskurzu. Metaforični medicinski termini imajo posebne konceptualne pomene tako za strokovnjake kot tudi za laike, ko postanejo del splošnega terminološkega inventarja, ki je tesno povezan z življenjem posameznika in skupnosti.

Abstract:
Od Aristotela promatrana kao jezična figura, ukras stanovite vrste strogo ograničen na područje poetike i retorike, metafora proživljava svojevrsnu renesansu unutar područja kognitivne lingvistike i teorije konceptualne metafore. Pokazalo se kako metafora nije ukras nego upravo nešto fundamentalno bez čega jezik i mišljenje zapravo ne mogu. Metaforički jezični izrazi tek su površinski odrazi, odnosno manifestacije konceptualnih metafora u našem umu. Sustav konceptualnih metafora strukturira naš svakodnevni konceptualni sustav na temelju kojega se odvija razumijevanje. Koncepti koji upravljaju procesima mišljenja nisu samo stvar intelekta, nego utječu na naše svakodnevno funkcioniranje do najsitnijih pojedinosti. Koncepti strukturiraju što percipiramo, kako se snalazimo u svijetu u kojemu živimo, kako se odnosimo prema drugim ljudima i slično, pa su stoga način na koji mislimo, ono što doživljavamo i ono što svakodnevno činimo u mnogočemu pitanje metafore. Na primjeru leksema jasan i frazema (za)mazati oči ukazali smo na konceptualnu vezu znanja i gledanja, odnosno na konceptualnu metaforu ZNATI JE VIDJETI, koja rasvjetljava nerazdvojnu povezanost znanja s gledanjem i (djelomično) način mišljenja i djelovanja modernoga čovjeka, čime smo utvrdili da je metafora jedan od temelja funkcioniranja jezika te da je mišljenje duboko prožeto metaforičkom strukturom.

Abstract:
La principale partie de ma thèse s’intéresse aux principes d'organisation du génome de la bactérie Escherichia coli. Le génome des bactéries est contenu dans le nucléoïde, un espace fortement organisé par de nombreux facteurs tels que la transcription, le sur-enroulement de l'ADN ou la présence de protéines spécifiques. Toutefois, les mécanismes précis qui régissent l'organisation du nucléoïde restent vaguent. La protéine Ndd du phage T4 provoque une désorganisation radicale du nucléoïde quand elle est exprimée chez E. coli. J'ai utilisé cette protéine Ndd pour tenter de révéler des structures encore inconnues liées à l'organisation du nucléoïde. En utilisant un nouveau système d'expression de Ndd chez E. coli il a été possible de montrer que cette protéine impacte l'ensemble du génome d'E. coli, aussi bien structurellement que transcriptionnellement. Des études en Hi-C ont permis de révéler que la structuration locale du nucléoïde n'est pas affectée par la présence de Ndd. Toutefois, l'expression de Ndd provoque une altération du profil de réplication d'E. coli avec une possible surreplication de la région proximale de l'origine de réplication. Nous avons aussi observé que l'expression de Ndd depuis le chromosome menait à des conséquences très différentes de son expression depuis un plasmide. La recherche de partenaires de Ndd qui pourraient expliquer ces effets par un screen dCas9 n'a donné que peu de candidats qui sont en cours de validation. Nous montrons ici que Ndd semble agir sur un ou des aspects précis mais encore indéterminés de l'organisation du nucléoïde et potentiellement indépendamment de la participation de gènes d'E. coli
The main project of my PhD concerned the principles of organization of the genome of the bacterium Escherichia coli. Bacterial genomes are held in the nucleoid, a space highly organized by many factors such as transcription, DNA supercoiling or the presence of specific proteins. However, some of the precise mechanisms that govern its organization remain unclear. The Ndd protein from phage T4 causes a radical disorganization of the nucleoid when expressed in E. coli. I used this Ndd protein to try to reveal previously unknown structures related to nucleoid organization. Using a novel expression system for Ndd in E. coli, it was possible to show that this protein impacts the entire genome of E. coli, both structurally and transcriptionally. Hi-C studies revealed that the Ndd-disrupted nucleoid remains locally structured in a manner similar to a normal nucleoid. However, Ndd expression causes an alteration in the replication profile of E. coli with possible over-replication at the origin of replication. We also observed that expression of Ndd from the chromosome leads to very different consequences than its expression from a plasmid. The search for a partner of Ndd that could explain these effects by a dCas9 screen yielded few candidates that are currently undergoing validation. Jame užfiksuoti statistiniu metodu iš Vytauto Didžiojo universiteto Dabartinės lietuvių kalbos tekstyno atrinkti tipiškiausi žodžių junginiai (arba kolokacijos) ir frazės, kuriose pavartotas bent vienas daiktavardis. Laikomasi nuostatos, kad abstrakčiųjų daiktavardžių kolokacijos yra kalbinių metaforų išraiška. Teorinėje darbo dalyje aptariamos plačios ir įvairialypės kolokacijos ir metaforos sąvokos. Čia kalbinė metafora arba metaforinis pasakymas suprantamas kaip kognityviosios kalbotyros šalininkų aprašomos žmogaus sąmonėje egzistuojančios konceptualiosios metaforos kalbinė išraiška. Pasirinktos erdvinės metaforos – tai tos, kurių žodinėje rai�����koje randama įvairių erdvės elementų įvardijimų. Išsamesnei analizei darbo objektas susiaurintas iki vertikaliųjų metaforų, kuriomis metaforizuojamas objektas (reiškinys) projektuojama vertikalėje. Aprašius atrankos kriterijus ir problemas, sudarytas vertikaliųjų metaforų ir susijusių frazeologizmų sąrašas, tada junginiai suskirstyti į semantines grupes pagal nurodomą vietą vertikalėje ar judėjimą kuria nors jos kryptimi. Present research paper deals with the specific group of conceptual metaphors, derived from the Dictionary of Lithuanian Nominal Phrases. The dictionary is compiled from collocations, automatically extracted from the Corpus of Present Day Lithuanian Language. All collocations contain at least one noun. The dictionary is a suitable source for the extraction of metaphors since it contains a lot of abstract noun collocations that in most cases are metaphorical. The paper presents theoretical approaches towards both issues under analysis, i.e. metaphors and collocations. The specific object of investigation, however, is conceptual, or dead, metaphor. It is defined here as a linguistic expression of a conceptual model of a world view. Following the cognitive approach it is assumed that human conceptual system, comprising cognition, language and memory, is metaphorical in nature. The metaphors under investigation contain nominations space or spacial elements in their linguistic expressions in general and specifically those, that deal with vertical scale and motion along a vertical dimension. After describing the identification criteria and procedures, the outcome of analysis is presented, i.e. the list of metaphorical phrases and idioms that are further subdivided according to the spacial dimensions, specifically the place or direction in the vertical scale. Magistro darbo tyrinėjimų objektas – sinestetinės metaforos iš anglų ir lietuvių kalbų žodynų bei anglų romantikų ir lietuvių žemininkų poezijos. Ilgą laiką metafora buvo laikoma tik literatūros vaizdingumo priemone. Tačiau XX a. tapo aišku, kad ji ne tik suteikia papildomą informaciją apie daiktą ar reiškinį, bet perteikia metaforos kūrėjų bei vartotojų pasaulėvaizdį, apskritai tos kalbos tradiciją. Sinestetinėje metaforoje atsispindi skirtingas pasaulio suvokimas, būdingas skirtingoms kultūroms ar atskiriems individams. Sinestetinė metafora sudaroma sujungus skirtingus pojūčius (regos, klausos, skonio, kvapo ar lytėjimo) ar priskiriant vieną iš pojūčių abstrakčiai sąvokai. Žodynuose pateikiamos jau mirusios metaforos. Darbo tyrimas parodo, kad dauguma sinestetinių metaforų, paimtų iš anglų (Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary) ir lietuvių (Dabartinės lietuvių kalbos žodynas) kalbų žodynų, jau yra tapusios universaliomis. Tai reiškia, kad galima rasti atitikmenis lietuvių bei anglų kalbose, tačiau skiriasi metaforiškas kai kurių būdvardžių dominavimas anglų ir lietuvių kalbose. Neste trabalho apresenta-se a modelagem de chamas difusivas na forma de jato, para baixo número de Mach e elevado número de Damköhler. O modelo é baseado na solução das equações na forma flamelet para a parte química e na fração de mistura para o fluxo. Este modelo descreve bem o comportamento de chamas difusivas, exceto na sua extremidade (ponta), onde geralmente surgem instabilidades. Resultados numéricos são apresentados para uma cinética química de uma e multietapas, utilizando a técnica LES (Large-Eddy Simulation) com o modelo de Smagorinsky para a viscosidade turbulenta. A discretização das equações governantes é feita em diferenças finitas, com a aplicação da técnica TVD (Total Variation Diminishing). Além disso, apresentamse mecanismos reduzidos multietapas para o metano, o metanol e o etanol, visando obter resultados realistas. A modelagem de chamas de metanol e etanol diferencia-se da modelagem de chamas de metano por ocorrer uma mudança de fase antes da combustão. Modela-se o efeito global das gotas usando uma descrição Lagrangeana que é incorporada à descrição Euleriana do escoamento, via termos fonte. Testes numéricos foram realizados para chamas difusivas de metano, metanol e etanol, e os resultados estão em concordância com os dados encontrados na literatura.
This work presents a model for a jet diffusion flame, for low Mach and high Damköhler numbers. The model is based on the solution of the flamelet equations for the chemistry and on the mixture fraction for the flow. This model describes well the behavior of diffusion flames, except at the flame tip, where instabilities can often occur. Numerical results are presented for an one-step and multi-step chemical kinetic models, using the LES (Large-Eddy Simulation) technique with the Smagorinsky model for the turbulent viscosity. The discretization of the governing equations follows the finite difference method, with the application of the TVD (Total Variation Diminishing) technique. Besides, multi-step reduced mechanisms for the methane, the methanol and the ethanol are employed, obtaining realistic results. The flame modeling of methanol and ethanol differs from the modeling of methane flames because of a phase change occurs before the combustion. The droplets global effect is modeled based on a Lagrangian description, which is incorporated into the Eulerian description of the flow through source terms. Numerical tests were carried out for methane, methanol and ethanol diffusion flames, and the results compare well with data in the literature.

Esta tese apresenta e discute os dados obtidos a partir de trabalho experimental projetado para avaliar comparativamente o desempenho de reatores desnitrificantes em batelada, tendo etanol, metanol e gás metano como doadores de elétrons. Os experimentos foram realizados em reatores em escala de bancada. Os ensaios com gás metano objetivaram verificar a efetividade deste sub-produto de reatores anaeróbios em substituir os doadores exógenos de elétrons comumente utilizados, tais como metanol e etanol. Para alcançar o objetivo principal deste trabalho, os parâmetros cinéticos de desnitrificação, para os doadores de elétrons ensaiados, foram determinados nas diferentes condições operacionais. Além disso, as alterações ocorridas na população microbiana, ao longo do período experimental, foram avaliadas em relação à diversidade microbiana, por meio de análises microscópicas (óptica, de fluorescência e eletrônica de varredura) e da técnica de Biologia Molecular de PCR/DGGE. A completa desnitrificação foi alcançada para todos os compostos testados, e o etanol foi o doador de elétrons mais eficiente para a desnitrificação. A melhor razão carbono-nitrogênio para a desnitrificação foi igual a 1,0. Contudo, este parâmetro foi encontrado ser inadequado para utilização no processo de desnitrificação, uma vez que não expressa a capacidade real do composto usado em doar elétrons. A desnitrificação com metano ocorreu tanto na presença como na ausência de oxigênio, embora a baixas velocidades quando comparado com os outros compostos. No entanto, a configuração do reator utilizado neste estudo não foi adequada para promover a efetiva dissolução do gás metano na fase líquida. Por essa razão, sugere-se o desenvolvimento de configurações de reatores apropriadas para minimizar as resistências à transferência de massa da fase gasosa para a líquida e também desta para a biomassa.
This thesis presents and discusses the data obtained from an experimental work designed to evaluate the comparative performance of denitrifying batch reactors utilizing ethanol, methanol and methane gas as electron donors. The experiments were carried out at using bench-scale reactors. The experiments using methane gas were meant to verify the effectiveness of such a by-product of anaerobic reactors instead of exogenous electron donors commonly used, such as methanol and ethanol. To achieve this main objective, the kinetic parameters of denitrification for the distinct electron donors assayed were determined in different operating conditions. Besides, the microbial population changes inside the reactors along the experimental time were evaluated in respect to the microbial diversity, by means of microscopy analysis (optical, fluorescent and electronic scanning) and the Molecular Biology technique, PCR/DGGE. Complete denitrification was achieved with all the compounds tested, and ethanol was the most effective electron donor for denitrification. The best carbon to nitrogen ratio for denitrification was 1.0. However, this parameter was found to be inadequate for using in denitrification process, since it does not express the real capacity of the compound used to donate electrons. Denitrification with methane occurred in the presence and also in the absence of oxygen, although at lower velocities compared to those with the other compounds. However, the reactor configuration utilized in this study was not adequate to promote the effective methane gas dissolution in the liquid phase. Therefore, it is suggested the development of appropriate reactor configurations to minimize mass transfer resistances from the gas to the liquid phase and also from that to the biomass.

Metaphor is of central importance to stylistics. The purpose of the present MA thesis is to analyze metaphor in the text of belles-lettres as a means of deviation and foregrounding. Metaphor theories and its background information are a few factors which have been taken into consideration while analysing and interpreting a metaphor. The analysis is carried out on the basis of the abundance of metaphor definitions and their adequate examples. The method of the research is descriptive-analytical, based on the analysis of theoretical statements and description of illustrations in belles-lettres style. The research covers a detailed description of metaphors according to the type of semantic connection between words. The work also reveals that metaphoric expressions are mostly found as the cases of dehumanizing metaphors, which ascribe animal or inanimate property to human beings. The obvious dominance of these metaphors relates to the fact that the kernel point of the novel Carry on Jeeves spins around the relationships between an Englishman Bertie Wooster and his butler Jeeves. The linguistic analysis clears out that the majority of dehumanizing metaphors are employed in the novel in order to reflect the negative or taint qualities of a person. Most cases of the metaphorical transfer of this kind include human-animal, human-bird, human-plant, human-objects metaphor pairs. At first, it explains the theoretical concept of a grammatical metaphor in general, following Halliday and other scholars. Cancermetaforer är vanliga sätt att prata om och därmed tänka kring cancer. Trots detta saknas svensk forskning om ämnet. Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att undersöka vilka olika slags konceptuella metaforer som används om cancer i svenska språket såsom det speglas i tidningstext, och om de kan sägas vara skadliga för cancersjuka och deras anhöriga. Materialet utgörs av 240 språkliga cancermetaforer från 101 svenska tidningsartiklar. Tidningsartiklarna har samlats in med hjälp av korpusen Mediearkivet och kommer från svensk storstadspress publicerad i januari 2016. De språkliga cancermetaforerna har identifierats med hjälp av metoden Metaphor Identification Procedure (MIP). De 240 språkliga cancermetaforerna i materialet realiserar sammantaget 15 konceptuella cancermetaforer. De sex vanligaste av dessa är (i fallande ordning) cancer är kamp, cancer är människa, cancer är resa, cancer är krig, cancer är rättegång och cancer är jakt. Resultaten tyder på att svenskan innehåller flera och varierade metaforer för cancer, även om kampmetaforen verkar vara vanligast. Trots vissa skillnader verkar det dessutom finnas en övervägande mängd likheter mellan metaforanvändningen i svenskan jämfört med engelskan. Skadligheten hos de sex ovan nämnda konceptuella metaforerna har undersökts utifrån två infallsvinklar: vilket perspektiv metaforerna anlägger på cancererfarenheten samt vilken grad av agens de tillskriver de cancersjuka. Analysen av de sex konceptuella metaforernas skadlighet har visat att samtliga metaforer har såväl styrkor som svagheter, men för cancer är kamp, cancer är krig och cancer är rättegång överväger svagheterna styrkorna. I tidningsartiklarna är det betydligt vanligare att metaforerna sätter cancersjuka i en försvagad position där de saknar kontroll än i en stärkt position där de har möjlighet att påverka det som händer dem. Med tanke på de olika konceptuella metaforernas potentiella skadliga natur och potentiella skadliga användning verkar det finnas fog för den kritik som riktats mot kampmetaforen och rättegångsmetaforen.

În lingvistica modernă, printre disciplinele tradiționale, interesul pentru metaforă este manifestat în primul rând de stilistică, lexicologie și lexicografie, care o consideră principalul mijloc, alături de metonimie, de nominalizare secundară. Cu toate acestea, dacă pentru stilistică metafora este principalul mijloc de creare a imaginilor, atunci lexicologia și lexicografia consideră metafora ca una dintre modalitățile de dezvoltare a sensului unui cuvânt, care servește ca mijloc de completare a vocabularului limbii. Lexicologia și stilistica, fiecare din punctul său de vedere, iau în considerare probleme similare de definire a unei metafore, stabilirea locului acesteia în sistemul altor mijloace lingvistice înrudite și au criterii comune de clasificare a metaforelor, ale căror tipuri diferite fac obiectul de studiu al acestor discipline.

Abstract:
Cilj je rada identificirati, dekonstruirati i analizirati vizualne metafore u reklamnom diskursu o luksuzu. Reklama se u radu shvaća kao simbolička praksa te posljedično potrošačka ideologija, odraz šire potrošačke kulture, ali i kao potraga za identitetom potrošača. Odabrani reklamni korpus predmetne analize sadrži 29 reklama za ženske parfeme isključivo francuskih luksuznih marki. Metodom analize sadržaja dekonstruiraju se dominantne vizualne metafore, pritom uvažavajući koncept multimodalnosti kao arhetipsku odrednicu sociosemiotike – pritom se stalno vraćajući sanjarenju, snovičnosti i žudnji kao stalno prisutnim elementima vizualne metaforične igre u reklami. Analiza vizualnih metafora upućuje na to da se upravo persuazivnost postiže vizualnim figurama, ali i da njihova uloga nije istoznačna, već ovisna o kontekstu i rakursu iz kojeg dekonstruiramo vizualne kodove kao stilske cjeline. Oni, istovremeno, konstruiraju unutarnje želje, snove i sanjarenja kao imanentne individualnim identitetima te su i konstrukt identiteta potrošača.

Abstract:
Studiul de față propune o analiză a funcției semantice și pragmatice a metaforei lingvistice, raportate la teoria cognitivității, metafora fiind considerată o categorie cognitivă a gândirii. Mutațiile de sens, în procesul metaforizării, sunt realizate la nivelul psiholingvisticii prin forța emoțională a vorbitorului declanșată de evenimente sau sentimente, metaforele fiind create în limbaj prin expansiune sau atracție. Caracterul creativ și generativ al metaforelor lingvistice contribuie la diversitate semantică, iar cunoașterea semnificatului facilitează înțelegerea procesului metaforic. Explicațiile de ordin pragmatic descriu mecanismele de funcționare a metaforei lingvistice, or, mecanismul metaforic este centrat pe relația dintre A și B, adică A și B nu pot fi metafore de la sine, relația dintre ele este cea care le crează.

Vladimir Beșleagă, prozatorul, poetul, traducătorul, unul dintre cei mai remarcabili romancieri basarabeni ai generației dezghețului hrușciovist, model de libertate și omenie, în romanul „Zbor frânt” a oferit eroului liric posibilitatea să reproducă amintirile sale, aceste monologuri sau discursuri cu sine însuşi ‒ metafore uimitoare care se constituie dintr-o frază, un alineat destul de mare sau chiar pagini întregi. Autorul a construit o inedită interpretare metaforică a gândului, a dialogului interior. În „Zbor frânt” metaforă nu e doar limbajul cu întreaga plenitudine funcțională, nu doar mijloc de exprimare, ci și de investigație a lumii. Beșleagă „valorizează posibilitățile” metaforei extinse, lumea proprie a omului, starea sufletească interioară, dar și invizibilul, „aşa-zisul metafizic, ceea ce este dincolo”, și constituie suflarea acestei lucrări, „trăirea mesajului ei profund”. În „Zbor frânt” nașterea metaforei e din realul „plin de posibilităţi”, din exploatarea destinului personajelor lucrării, fie că e vorba de Isai sau de râul Nistru.
