Abstract:
This paper presents an algorithm for the fully automatic mesh generation for the finite element analysis of ships and offshore structures. The quality requirements on the mesh generator are imposed by the acceptance criteria of the classification societies as well as the need to avoid shear locking when using low degree shell elements. The meshing algorithm will be generating quadrilateral dominated meshes (consisting of quads and triangles) and the mesh quality requirements mandate that quadrilaterals with internal angles close to 90° are to be preferred. The geometry is described by a dictionary containing points, rods, surfaces, and openings. The first part of the proposed method consists of an algorithm to automatically clean the geometry. The corrected geometry is then meshed by the frontal Delaunay mesh generator as implemented in the gmsh package. We present a heuristic method to precondition the cross field of the fronatal quadrilateral mesher. In addition, the influence of the order in which the plates are meshed will be explored as a preconditioning step.

Four new riodinid taxa in the tribe Symmachiini are described from wet forest habitats between 300 and 1700 m in the eastern Andes of Peru and Ecuador: Mesene leucogyna leucogyna, Mesene leucogyna notia, Mesene margaretta anartia and Symmachia pena. Discussions on their systematic placement are presented. The following taxonomic changes are proposed: Mesene bigemmis Stichel is removed from synonymy with Mesene nepticula stigmosa Stichel and reinstated as a species (rev. stat.); and Mesene oriens Butler is synonymized with Mesene margaretta (White) (n. syn.).

Abstract:
The study proposes a fast flexible direct power flow solution for radial distribution systems and a fast flexible direct weakly meshed power flow solution for weakly meshed distribution systems. The algorithm is based on the direct forward sweep power flow solution, which is an updated version of the backward/forward sweep solution. The fast flexible direct power flow uses a unique conversion matrix (CM) to rapidly determine the power flow solution. The inverted conversion matrix and its slide-modified matrix are used to solve the power flow problem in a single forward sweep step, which is a novel feature of this work. To ensure the invertibility of the conversion matrix, it is constructed to have a small condition number and a determinant of minus one, and all of its eigenvalues must be equal to that of minus one. Additionally, by modifying the conversion matrix to accommodate the loop branch using the break-point idea, a new weakly meshed conversion matrix (WMCM) is generated with the same following modification as for the radial network and employed in the fast flexible direct weakly meshed power flow (FFDWMPF) solution for the weakly meshed distribution network. The usage of a single matrix in the power flow solution and advanced direct techniques decreases the number of iterations and CPU execution time when MATLAB programming is executed. Furthermore, the proposed method is flexible enough to incorporate any changes in the radial or weakly meshed distribution system just by incorporating the changes in the CM and WMCM for any radial or weakly meshed system. Moreover, the robustness of FFDPF and FFDWMPF is evaluated under various loading scenarios on balanced radial and weakly meshed distribution networks. Finally, to validate the proposed algorithm, the proposed strategy is applied to numerous balanced and unbalanced distribution systems.

Amaç: Biz bu çalışmada mesane kanserinin kas invazyonunu preoperatif tahmin etmede “Vesical Imaging Reporting and Data System” (VI-RADS) skorlama sisteminin doğruluğunu araştırmayı amaçladık.Gereç ve Yöntemler: Ağustos 2020 ile Mart 2022 arasında preoperatif mp-MRG çekilen mesane kanserli hastalar çalışmaya dahil edildi. Mesane tümörleri deneyimli bir üroradyolog tarafından VI-RADS skorlama sistemi ile değerlendirildi. VI-RADS skoru, kas invazyonunu belirlemek için postoperatif patoloji ile karşılaştırıldı. VI-RADS ≥3 ve VI-RADS ≥4 kesme noktası için duyarlılık, özgüllük, poizitif öngörü değeri (PÖD), negatif öngörü değeri (NÖD) ve doğruluk hesaplandı.Bulgular: Toplam 102 hastanın dördünde bening patoloji (Üç hastada sistitis sistika, bir hastada nefrojenik adenom) saptandı. Çalışmaya kalan 98 hasta dahil edildi. 38 hastada kasa invaziv ve 60 hastada ise kasa invaziv olmayan mesane kanseri saptandı. Kas invazyonunu belirlemede VI-RADS skorunun eşik değeri 3 olarak alındığında duyarlılık, özgüllük, PÖD, NÖD ve doğruluğu sırasıyla %92, %85, %94, %80 ve %88 olarak hesaplandı. Bununla beraber VI-RADS skorunun eşik değeri 4 olarak alındığında duyarlılık, özgüllük, PÖD, NÖD değeri ve doğruluğu sırasıyla %82, %95, %89, %91 ve %90 saptandı.Sonuç: Sonuç olarak mesane mp-MRG, VI-RADS kriterleri eşliğinde VI-RADS eşik değer 3 veya 4’ün kas invaziv mesane kanserinin saptanmasında başarılı bir yöntem olup tanısal performansı artırabilir.

Bu çalışmanın amacı koronavirüsün yayılım hızını düşürmede önemli bir etkisi olan maske takma, sosyal mesafe ve kalabılık analizinin yapılmasıdır. Bu analiz için çalışmada derin öğrenme tabanlı yöntemler olan Evrişimli Sinir Ağları (ESA) ve YOLO mimari tasarımları kullanılmıştır. Maske tespitinin yapılması için yeni bir veri seti oluşturulmuştur. Oluşturulan veri seti ‘maskeli’ ve ‘maskesiz’ sınıflandırma işleminin yapılması için AlexNet, DenseNet, MobileNet, ResNet, ShuffleNet, SqueezeNet, VGG, Xception ve ZFNet gibi ESA mimari tasarımları ile kullanılmıştır. En iyi sınıflandırma performansını %96.86 doğruluk oranı ve %91.81 F1-skoru değeri ile DenseNet-121 mimari tasarımı elde etmiştir. Sosyal mesafe ve kalabalık analizi için çalışmada YOLOv3 algoritması ve COCO veri seti kullanılmıştır. Daha sonra maske sınıflandırması görevinde elde edilen ağırlık dosyası, Haar Cascade yüz sınıflandırıcı algoritması ile birlikte kullanılarak, sosyal mesafe ve kalabalık analizini sağlayan algoritmaya dahil edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak ise hem maske tespitini sağlayan hem de sosyal mesafe ve kişi sayısını hesaplayan tümleşik bir yazılım oluşturulmuştur.

The introduction of acellular dermal matrix (ADM) to breast reconstruction has allowed surgeons to reexplore the prepectoral implant placement technique in postmastectomy breast reconstruction. Our institution adopted a novel approach using meshed ADM to lessen the financial burden of increased ADM utilization with the prepectoral breast reconstruction. This is a retrospective, single-center review of two-stage prepectoral breast reconstruction using meshed human-derived ADM for anterior prosthesis coverage. Patient demographics, oncologic data, perioperative characteristics, and complications were examined and reported as means with standard deviations. Cost-saving with the meshed technique was evaluated. Forty-eight patients (72 breasts) with a mean age of 48.5 ± 15.0 years (range 26–70 years) were included in the study. The mean follow-up time was 13.2 ± 4.4 months (range 4.1–25.8 months). Nineteen breasts (24.6%) experienced complications, with seromas being the most common complication (12.5%, n = 9). Expander removal and reoperation occurred at a rate of 8.3 and 9.7%, respectively. The average time to drain removal was 18.8 ± 6.6 days (range 8–32 days). Meshed ADM provided an average cost savings of $6,601 for unilateral and $13,202 for bilateral reconstructions. Our study found that human-derived meshed ADM can be safely used in two-staged prepectoral tissue expander-based breast reconstruction and can result in significant cost savings.

Five-G heterogeneous network overlaid by millimeter-wave (mmWave) access employs mmWave meshed backhauling as a promising cost-efficient backhaul architecture. Due to the nature of mobile traffic distribution in practice which is both time-variant and spatially non-uniform, dynamic construction of mmWave meshed backhaul is a prerequisite to support the varying traffic distribution. Focusing on such scenario of outdoor dynamic crowd (ODC), this paper proposes a novel method to control mmWave meshed backhaul for efficient operation of mmWave overlay 5G HetNet through Software-Defined Network (SDN) technology. Our algorithm is featured by two functionalities, i.e., backhauling route multiplexing for overloaded mmWave small cell base stations (SC-BSs) and mmWave SC-BSs’ ON/OFF status switching for underloaded spot. In this paper, the effectiveness of the proposed meshed network is confirmed by both numerical analyses and experimental results. Simulations are conducted over a practical user distribution modeled from measured data in realistic environments. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithm can cope with the locally intensive traffic and reduce energy consumption. Furthermore, a WiGig (Wireless Gigabit Alliance certified) device based testbed is developed for Proof-of-Concept (PoC) and preliminary measurement results confirm the proposed dynamic formation of the meshed network’s efficiency.

A variety of terminal alkynes were added to dimesitylfluorenylidenegermane, Mes2Ge=CR2 (where CR2 = fluorenylidene). The addition of phenylacetylene and 1-hexyne to Mes2Ge=CR2 gave a germacyclohexene via a cycloaddition where the germene acts as the 4π component and the alkyne as the 2π component. Through the use of a mechanistic probe, trans-(2-phenylcyclopropyl)-acetylene, the reaction was postulated to proceed through a concerted [2+4] cycloaddition. The addition of ethoxyacetylene to the germene produced both a [2+2] cycloadduct, a germacyclobutene, and a [2+4] cycloadduct, a germacyclohexene. The results of this study are compared to the results of the addition of alkynes to Mes2Ge=CHCH2-t-Bu.

To safeguard distributed power smoothly being sent out, the meshed power collection grids were proposed. By comparing reliability of radial and meshed grids, the capacity evaluation model for meshed power collection grids was established in terms of electricity revenue and cable costs, and the 2.5MW double-fed wind turbine’s evaluation data was divided into six levels according to 0-700 million income, and the capacity optimization algorithm was provided based on genetic algorithm, and optimal routing solutions and capacities under different income levels were proposed. The results show that 7 * 7 and 5 * 15 schemes have best income and capacity, and the effectiveness of evaluation model and optimization algorithm is proved.

Gears are widely used in engineering machinery. Mechanical analysis of the gears matters more much than motion analysis when they are used in heavy machinery or equipment. Dynamic simulation of the meshed gears is based on the theory of contact and impact concerning with the definition of the impact parameters and the model in ADAMS, so the dynamic simulation process is often complicated. In this paper, an effective dynamic simulation method of meshed gears was proposed by analyzing the physical significance of the impact parameters and the calculation method of the impact, and the force curve of the meshed gears was simulated. This result can provide basis for the design and manufacture of the gear.

We present a computational inverse design framework for a new class of volumetric deployable structures that have compact rest states and deploy into bending-active 3D target surfaces. Umbrella meshes consist of elastic beams, rigid plates, and hinge joints that can be directly printed or assembled in a zero-energy fabrication state. During deployment, as the elastic beams of varying heights rotate from vertical to horizontal configurations, the entire structure transforms from a compact block into a target curved surface. Umbrella Meshes encode both intrinsic and extrinsic curvature of the target surface and in principle are free from the area expansion ratio bounds of past auxetic material systems. We build a reduced physics-based simulation framework to accurately and efficiently model the complex interaction between the elastically deforming components. To determine the mesh topology and optimal shape parameters for approximating a given target surface, we propose an inverse design optimization algorithm initialized with conformal flattening. Our algorithm minimizes the structure's strain energy in its deployed state and optimizes actuation forces so that the final deployed structure is in stable equilibrium close to the desired surface with few or no external constraints. We validate our approach by fabricating a series of physical models at various scales using different manufacturing techniques.

According to the analysis of the network topological structure, an improved backward/forward sweep algorithm was proposed. The algorithm can be applied for weakly meshed distribution systems with distributed generation (DG). The method developed an incidence matrixbranch current-bus current injection matrix. A meshed network was converted to a radial network by breaking the loops at the ending nodes of link branches. The mathematical models of DG were established as PV and PQ node. For PV nodes, this paper used a dummy node and dummy branch which inject reactive power to the specified node to maintain the specified voltage value. IEEE 33-bus test feeder was used to verify the correctness and convergence of the proposed algorithm. Moreover, the impact of both weakly meshed and DG on voltage profile and convergence was also investigated.

Este ensaio tem como objetivo rediscutir a intergenericidade, conceito que estuda as misturas de gêneros. Com base nas reflexões de Bakhtin (2006 [1953]) sobre reelaborações e misturas de gêneros, buscamos argumentos que sustentem a tese de que o conceito de intergenericidade, tal qual vem sendo proposto pela Linguística de Texto, não contempla todas as diferentes formas de manifestação textual em que se misturam gêneros. This paper reports on the propagation of lightning overvoltage in a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) meshed grid. Since several topologies of meshed grids have been elaborated in the last decade, we used a common comprehensive reference test platform. The lightning impulse propagation was investigated with regard to the impact of surge arresters and the polarity of the lightning stroke concerning the DC line polarity (±500 kV). Various scenarios were considered, including a direct lightning strike to the DC+ conductor, to the tower, and to the shielding wire in the middle of the span, including backflash on the insulators. The influence of tower footing impedance on overvoltage levels at various nodes was assessed, depicting the critical value. A description of the models used in the simulations was provided. The main focus of the paper was on the wide-area propagation of the overvoltages in the meshed grid, at distant terminals and inside the feeders. An interesting observation was the effects of lightning at the far end of the analyzed grid, propagating through multiterminal and long-distance connections. The presented analysis, based on an exemplary meshed HVDC grid, underlines the importance of the insulation coordination studies and system security studies with respect to the localization of overvoltage protection systems.

A field experiment was done to determine the effects of mesh size in the bunt and codend of an estuarine beach-seine net on the meshing (gilling) and discarding of undersize sand whiting Sillago ciliata (Sillaginidae). Four mesh sizes were examined: 45 mm, 50 mm, 57 mm and 64 mm, in an alternate-haul experiment in the Clarence River, New South Wales, Australia. A laboratory experiment was also done to determine the mortality of sand whiting after becoming meshed in seine nets. The currently allowed mesh size (50 mm) catches a large proportion of undersize sand whiting that become meshed in the netting and are subsequently discarded. The laboratory experiment showed that ~40% of these fish may die within a few weeks whereas no unmeshed fish die. In contrast, the 57 mm mesh size meshed few undersize sand whiting yet retained almost the same number of legal-sized fish as the 50 mm mesh. Hence, the maximum mesh size allowed in the bunts of nets used in this fishery should be raised to 57 mm to allow the escape of large numbers of undersize sand whiting that are currently being caught, meshed and discarded in a condition that leads to significant mortality.

Abstract. This paper analyses several energy system scenarios towards 2050 for the North Sea region. With a focus on offshore wind power, the impacts of meshed offshore grid and sector coupling are studied. First, a project-based scenario, where each offshore wind power plant is connected individually to the onshore power system, is compared to a meshed grid scenario. Both the amount of offshore wind power installed and the level of curtailment are assessed. Then, these results are compared to a scenario with sector coupling included. The results show that while the introduction of a meshed grid can increase the amount of offshore wind power installed towards 2050, sector coupling is expected to be a more important driver for increasing offshore wind power installations. In addition, sector coupling can significantly decrease the level of offshore wind curtailment.

The installation of wire-meshed net anchored is a possible solution to prevent slippage of landslide of the surface layers. This paper will be focused on the study of numerical modeling, using finite element analysis software, ABAQUS, of double-twisted hexagonal wire-meshed net anchoraged which has been developed by the French-based company, GTS. The objective is to analyze several configurations and performances of wire-meshed nets, cables. As final result, we will comparing between the experiment and numerical modeling analysis.

The effects of three mononucleoside phosphotriester derivatives of 3′-azido-2′,3′-dideoxythymidine (AZT) which incorporate biolabile phosphate protecting groups, namely S-acetyl-2-thioethyl (MeSATE), S-(2-hydroxyethylsulfidyl)-2-thioethyl (DTE), and pivaloyloxymethyl (POM) were studied and compared to their nucleoside parent in human myeloid colony-forming cells. Moreover, the relative antiviral potency of these three pronucleotides were determined in primary human peripheral blood mononuclear cells infected with human immunodeficiency virus type 1. The results indicate that the SATE and DTE pro-moieties, as well as their degradation products, do not induce additional toxicity. The bis(MeSATE) phosphotriester derivative of AZT emerged as the most selective inhibitor with an in-vitro therapeutic index of the same order of magnitude as observed for AZT. This study has been extended to the corresponding bis(MeSATE) and bis(DTE) phosphotriester derivatives of 2′,3′-dideoxyuridine (ddU).

Vestibuloplasty is indicated when prosthesis stability is poor due to mandibular or maxillary atrophy. The use of autogenous grafts to provide sufficient vestibular depth is widely accepted. In this retrospective study, the outcomes of vestibuloplasty performed on 41 patients using various types of autogenous grafts (full-thickness skin, dermal, reversed dermal, meshed skin and palatal mucosal) are presented. The best results were obtained with palatal mucosal grafts, but graft size is limited. Meshed skin grafts were shown to be the best alternative.

In this paper, the transmission mechanism of a plastic worm meshed with a steel helical gear is applied to achieve power transmission and motion transfer. Tooth profile equations of the gear pair are derived and general meshing conditions are proposed in terms of gear geometry. A mathematical model of the tooth profiles of the gear pair is established. Contact stress analysis and general evolution law of the tooth profiles are discussed using the finite element method. Material characteristics, mesh generation, contact definition, and constraint conditions are given. For comparison, analysis results of a steel worm meshed with a steel helical gear is also provided. Through the hobbing process, injection molding, and machining center, samples of steel helical gears, plastic worm, and steel worm are completed, respectively. A characteristic test of the transmission mechanism of the plastic worm meshed with a steel helical gear is carried out based on the microtransmission experimental platform. The contrasting results show that the plastic worm has better transmission performance.

By combining with auto-meshing technique, local mesh is re-meshed automatically, and curved crack path is modeled easily. Plural fatigue crack problem is solved by this technique. For two parallel crack problem, criteria of crack coalescence are proposed. By simulating this problem by S-FEM, it is verified these criteria are conservative ones.

Also,2was reported earlier, it possesses a neutral 1D chain built of neutral heterpentameric supramolecules:[(Mn(7‐MeSalen))2(Mn(7‐MeSalen)(S))2(Nb6Cl12(CN)6)](P) linked by4,4′-bpeligands. Hydrogen bonds between non-bridging cyanide ligands and coordinated solvent molecules connect the chains into 2D hydrogen-bonded frameworks. Finally,3features an anionic chain, built of alternating heterotrimers[(Mn(Salen))2(Nb6Cl12(CN)6)]2−and heteropentamers[(Mn(Salen)(S))2(Mn(Salen))2(Nb6Cl12(CN)6)]linked by the organic spacer4,4′-bpe. The anionic charge is compensated by the in situe-assembled[Mn(Salen)(S)(4,4′‐bpe)Mn(Salen)(S)]2+dimers. Magnetic measurements reveal that the Mn(III) ions are well isolated and only weak magnetic interactions are observed. The thermal stability of the three compounds was investigated.

The model could predict temperature and concentration distribution as well as the solution side heat transfer coefficient and the absorption rate. The results verify that heat and mass transfer performance of the plate falling film absorber with wire-meshed fins is better than the past absorber. Compared with the plate falling film absorber without fins, heat transfer coefficient of the absorber in this article increases 1.06 times and the absorption rate increases 2.32 times.

A new species of Riodinidae, Mesene jimena sp. nov., is described from the Pacific slope in southern Mexico, including notes on its habits, habitat and distribution. A comparison is made with its close relative, Mesene margaretta (A. White, 1843), found in southeastern Mexico (Atlantic slope) and Chiapas State. In addition to morphology, other criteria are discussed including behavior and related structures, spatial and temporal factors, comparison of distribution with areas of endemism and ecology. These factors were examined for the new taxon and found to confirm its status.

First, a method for flux computation is introduced given the field obtained thanks to a volume integral method. Second, an analytical method for computing the magnetic source field and magnetic vector potential induced by a 2D meshed coil is presented, those quantities being necessary for the flux computation.
