Existet-il une image iconoclaste qui viendrait briser le scénario préfabriqué des représentations d’une exécution annoncée? Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to explore the nature of the marketing of concerts 1672–1749 examining innovations in the promotion and commodification of music, which are witness to the early development of music as a business. Design/methodology/approach The study takes as its basis 4,356 advertisements for concerts in newspapers published in London between 1672 and 1749. Findings Musicians instigated a range of marketing strategies in an effort to attract a concert audience, which foreground those found in more recent and current arts marketing practice. They promoted regular concerts with a clear sense of programme planning to appeal to their audience, held a variety of different types of concerts and made use of a variety of pricing strategies. Concerts were held at an increasing number and range of venues with complementary ticket-selling locations. Originality/value Whilst there is some literature investigating concert-giving in this period from a musicological perspective (James, 1987; Johnstone, 1997; McVeigh, 2001; Weber, 2001; 2004b; 2004c; Wollenberg, 1981–1982; 2001; Wollenberg and McVeigh, 2004), what research there is that uses marketing as a window onto the musical culture of concert-giving in this period lacks detail (McGuinness, 1988; 2004a; 2004b; McGuinness and Diack Johnstone, 1990; Ogden et al., 2011). This paper illustrates how the development of public commercial concerts made of music a commodity offered to and demanded by a new breed of cultural consumers. Music, thus, participated in the commercialisation of leisure in late 17th- and 18th-century England and laid the foundations of its own development as a business.

Abstract:
This article builds a theoretical framework that highlights the role of social movements in industry emergence and growth. Using insights from the literature on social movement outcomes and industry creation, the article shows that the environmental movement has shaped the development of the wind energy industry at both the national and subnational levels. During the past two decades, wind power has transformed from a small, "alternative" energy industry into a multibillion-dollar global industry that produces electricity for millions of people. Quantitative analysis shows that the wind energy industry grows the fastest in countries and regions that have not only a high density of environmental groups but also good wind potential or a favorable political opportunity structure. Case studies deepen this picture by examining how environmental organizations contribute to the development of the wind energy industry. also like to thank Rory McVeigh and three anonymous reviewers for Mobilization for their suggestions.

Abstract:
The policing of critical incident scenes, including natural disasters, hazardous materials spills, hostage situations, and terrorist attacks, has become an especially salient topic in the post-September 11 environment. Given the attention-grabbing nature of these events, police administrators are often faced with the task of building and maintaining relationships with members of the media at these scenes, primarily reporters and their crews who often pursue goals that are in direct conflict with those of law enforcement. This article examines the issues related to police—media relations at critical incident scenes using interview data from subjects involved in policing the scene of the Oklahoma City bombing and the related trials of Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols. These interviews provide a context for the presentation of guidelines important to police administrators who must be able to forge successful relationships with the media at critical incidents.

Abstract:
Two-dimensional (2-D) strain fields were estimated non-invasively in two simple experimental models of closed-head brain injury. In the first experimental model, shear deformation of a gel was induced by angular acceleration of its spherical container. In the second model the brain of a euthanized rat pup was deformed by indentation of its skull. Tagged magnetic resonance images (MRI) were obtained by gated image acquisition during repeated motion. Harmonic phase (HARP) images corresponding to the spectral peaks of the original tagged MRI were obtained, following procedures proposed by Osman, McVeigh and Prince [1]. Two methods of HARP strain analysis were applied, one based on the displacement of tag line intersections, and the other based on the gradient of harmonic phase. Strain analysis procedures were also validated on simulated images of deformed grids. Results show that it is possible to visualize deformation and to quantify strain efficiently in animal models of closed head injury.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction National evidence demonstrates that older people having surgery, both in the elective and emergency setting, have more adverse outcomes postoperatively when compared with their younger counterparts (1). National reports have recommended daily input from a geriatric team for older patients having surgery (2). At our hospital we have introduced a geriatric surgical liaison consultant as a formal post to ensure daily geriatric input or review for patients over the age of 70 or comorbid younger patients as requested. The aim of this study was to review perspectives across the multi-disciplinary team on care provided to these patients before and after introduction of the surgical liaison team. Methods We created a 10 part questionnaire, which was distributed amongst all members of the multi-disciplinary team, asking them to rate confidence out of 10 in management of comorbidity, polypharmacy, discharge planning, pain assessments and nutrition. These data were then analysed to produce median scores for each category before and after the introduction of the service. We compared the change in scores between the foundation year 1 (FY1) doctors and the remainder of the respondents. Results The below table demonstrates the median scores across all 36 respondents in their confidence with the assessment and management of the 10 key domains before and after the liaison service was introduced: Conclusions Universally within our survey, staff reported improvement in all 10 key indicators of care of older patients on surgery with the introduction of a geriatric surgical liaison team. Greatest benefit was seen within the FY1 group. References 1. McVeigh TP, Al-Azawi D, O'Donoghue GT, Kerin MJ.
