Full textMed ständigt ökande tillgänglighet av textvärd data ökar behovet att kunna klustra och klassificera denna data. I detta arbete utvecklar vi statistiska verktyg för hypotestestning, klustring och klassificering av textvärd data inom ramen för objektorienterad dataanalys. Projektet inkluderar forskning på semantiska metoder för att representera texter, jämförelser mellan representationer, avstånd för sådana representationer och prestanda hos permutationstest. De viktigaste metoderna som jämförs är vektorrumsmodeller och ämnesmodeller. Mer specifikt tillhandahåller detta arbete en algoritm för permutationstest, på dokument- eller meningsnivå, i syfte att pröva hypotesen att två texter har samma fördelning med avseende på olika representationer och avstånd. Till sist används en trädrepresentation för att beskriva studiet av texter ur en syntaktisk synvinkel.

Full textLokalisering av användbar data från bilder är något som har revolutionerats under det senaste decenniet när datorkraften har ökat till en nivå då man kan använda artificiella neurala nätverk i praktiken. En typ av ett neuralt nätverk som använder faltning passar utmärkt till bilder eftersom det ger möjlighet för nätverket att skapa sina egna filter som tidigare skapades för hand. För lokalisering av objekt i bilder används huvudsakligen Faster R-CNN arkitekturen. Den fungerar i två steg, först skapar RPN boxar som innehåller regioner där nätverket tror det är störst sannolikhet att hitta ett objekt. Sedan är det en detektor som verifierar om boxen är på ett objekt .I denna uppsats går vi igenom den nuvarande litteraturen i artificiella neurala nätverk, objektdektektering, förslags metoder och presenterar ett nytt förslag att generera förslag på regioner. Vi visar att genom att byta ut RPN med vår metod (MPN) ökar vi precisionen med 12% och reducerar tiden med 10%.

Full textThis is a study of how high school students perceive the derivative concept. The role of the formal definition and the graphical representation in the student’s understanding will be in focus, and, also the conceptual understanding of these two representations. Data was collected from 17 students who answered two questionnaires. The analysis was based on the definition of concept image from Tall and Vinner (1981) and a framework of students’ understanding of derivative from Zandieh (2000). Result and analysis indicate that the graphical representation has a prominent role in the student’s concept image and there is also a higher understanding among this representation. The formal definition works more as a method for computing the derivative. Although it is possible to make this kind of general conclusions, analysis from individual student responses shows large individual differences, both among the importance of the representations but also to what extent the students capture the concept.

Full textThis work starts from the verification of the difficulties presented by the students in the use of the function concept as tool in the problem resolution. We tried to confirm the validity of a teaching strategy based in the dialectics tool-object that creates the conditions for the introduction of that concept starting from knowledge that the students already possess. With that I aim at, we developed and we applied a didactic sequence based in situations-problem for students of the eighth grade of the Elementary School grade in that concept it is usually introduced in our education system. To base the elaboration of that sequence we developed a study about: the mechanisms used by the individual for objects mathematician's manipulation, trying to understand which strategies involved in that manipulation and how is the appropriation of that knowledge; the form with that that concept should be worked with our students, according to the vision of official documents, and the way with this concept is treated in some collections of text books; how was the historical development of the mathematical knowledge that allowed the formulation of that concept, which the ideas involved in that formulation. The elaborated sequence is presented and analyzed in the fourth chapter of that dissertation. That analysis occurs in two stages, one before the sequence application, analysis a priori, trying to understand the operation of each activity, which the necessary knowledge for the accomplishment and which objectives that we wanted to reach. The second analysis is accomplished after the application of the activity, analysis the posteriori. In this part we described how the development was, which the difficulties presented by the students and which the reached objectives. Finally, in the fifth chapter, we developed a general analysis looking for answer the subjects of formulated research, taking as base them analysis accomplished in the previous chapter
Este trabalho parte da constatação das dificuldades apresentadas pelos alunos na utilização do conceito de função como ferramenta na resolução de problema. Nele procuramos confirmar a validade de uma estratégia de ensino baseada na dialética ferramenta objeto que crie as condições para a introdução deste conceito a partir de conhecimentos que os alunos já possuem. Com este objetivo, desenvolvemos e aplicamos uma seqüência didática baseada em situações problema para alunos da oitava Série do Ensino Fundamental, série em que esse conceito é normalmente introduzido no nosso sistema de ensino. Para fundamentar a elaboração dessa seqüência desenvolvemos um estudo sobre: Os mecanismos utilizados pelo indivíduo para a manipulação dos objetos matemáticos procurando compreender quais as estratégias envolvidas nessa manipulação e como se dá a apropriação desse conhecimento; a forma com que esse conceito deva ser trabalhado com nossos alunos, segundo a visão dos documentos oficiais, e a maneira com que é tratado em algumas coleções de livros didáticos; como se deu o desenvolvimento histórico do conhecimento matemático que permitiu a formulação desse conceito, quais as idéias envolvidas nessa formulação. A seqüência elaborada é apresentada e analisada no quarto capítulo desta dissertação. Essa análise se dá em duas etapas: uma antes de sua aplicação, análise a prióri, procurando compreender o funcionamento de cada atividade, quais os conhecimentos necessários para a sua realização e quais os objetivos que desejamos atingir; uma segunda análise é realizada após a aplicação da atividade, análise a posteriori. Nela descrevemos como foi o desenvolvimento, quais as dificuldades apresentadas pelos alunos e quais os objetivos atingidos. Por fim, no quinto capítulo, desenvolvemos uma análise geral buscando responder as questões de pesquisa formulada tomando como base as análises realizadas no capítulo anterio
