Abstract:
The aims of the study were to examine the test–retest reliability of force-time (F-T) characteristics and F-T curve waveform of bilateral and unilateral countermovement jumps (CMJ) in elite youth soccer players and to evaluate the effects of competitive match-play on CMJ performance. 16 male youth soccer players completed CMJs on two separate occasions to determine reliability, and immediately pre, post and 48 h following a competitive match. Coefficient of variation (CV%), Intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) and limits of agreement were used to assess reliability of discreate CMJ variables. Single factor repeated measures ANOVA were used to determine the effects of match play. Statistical parametric mapping was used to evaluate the repeatability of the CMJ force-time waveform and the effects of match play. Jump height had limited reliability in all three jumps and only a select few jump specific F-T variables were found to be reliable (CV < 10%, ICC > 0.5). Select variables were reduced immediately post game but recovered 48 h post game. The F-T curve waveform was found to be repeatable but did not differ following match-play. This study suggest that select F-T variables change following match-play and may be suitable tools to allow practitioners to detect decrements in performance. These data may help inform practitioners to use the most appropriate F-T variables to assess fatigue and recovery, with implications for performance and injury risk.

Abstract:
The use of alternative 5' splice sites in the simian virus 40 early-transcription unit controls the ratio of large T to small t antigen during viral infection. To study the regulation of these alternative 5' splice sites, we made two mutants which improve the match of the large-T-antigen 5' splice site to the 5' splice site consensus sequence. Whether these mutants were assayed in vitro or in vivo, we found that the efficiency of large-T splicing is increased by improving the match of the large-T-antigen 5' splice site to the consensus. We conclude that the match of a 5' splice site is an important determinant of 5' splice site utilization and that the simian virus 40 large-T-antigen 5' splice site is almost certainly recognized by the U1 small nuclear RNA component of the U1 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein particle.

Abstract:
Abstract A flexible radio frequency identification (RFID) tag antenna with a T-match feeder is proposed in this paper. The T-match feed acts as the conjugate network matching of the tag antenna and 0.99 of power transfer coefficient was achieved. By incorporating a meander line and capacitive tip loading technique, the compact size is realized with a wide bandwidth of 44MHz that can cover the RFID spectrum allocated for the Malaysia region, from 919 to 923 MHz. The proposed antenna is printed on the flexible polyethene terephthalate (PET) substrate with a dimension of 90mm × 24mm × 0.143mm. By employing 4W EIRP power, the detection distance of 29.15m in free space. The proposed meandered line and capacitive tip loading tag antenna with T-match feed line is beneficial to be part of the RFID systems because of their compactness, wide bandwidth and high-power transfer coefficient.

Abstract:
Developing students’ vocabulary achievement using Make a Match Method in recount text is the main purpose of this study. A quantitative research methodology was implemented with quasi-experimental design. The sample of the study were eight grade students of a public junior high school in Puding Besar, Bangka Belitung. They were taken from two classes which consisted of 44 students. This study was conducted by using purposive sampling technique with test as the instrument. The seekings indicated that the average score of experimental and control group post-test differed 7,87 points. Moreover, the calculation of the independent sample test of experimental and control group revealed that the t-obtained in equal variences assumed was 4.814 and the significant (2-tailed) was.000. it can be inferred that there was a significant difference amongst those two samples as the result of the t-obtained was higher than t-table (4.814˃2.02) and the significant (2-tailed) was more modest than calculation with level significant (.000˂0.05). In other words, Make a Match Method enhanced the students’ vocabulary achievement. Ability to develop the English teaching and learning activity was the expected contribution for this study.

Abstract:
How the match-derived load metrics relate to post-match fatigue in soccer is scarcely researched. Thus, the aim of this study was to determine the associations between soccer match-related internal and external loads, neuromuscular performance decrease and intermittent-running endurance capacity decrement immediately post-match. Vertical jump (countermovement jump), straight-line sprinting (10- and 20-m sprint), change of direction ability (T-test) and intermittent-running endurance capacity (YO-YO intermittent recovery level 2) were measured one day before and immediately after a friendly match in male soccer players. During the match, players’ internal and external loads were also monitored, including heart rate-derived indices, total distance at various speed thresholds, average running velocity, maximal running velocity, number of sprints and number of accelerations and decelerations at various intensity thresholds. The results show that match-induced fatigue was reflected on neuromuscular performance and intermittent-running endurance capacity immediately post-match (p < 0.05). The quantification of percentage change of match external-load metrics, particularly accelerations and decelerations, provides a useful non-invasive predictor of subsequent neuromuscular fatigue status in soccer players immediately post-match (p < 0.05). However, only internal load metrics present a practical application for predicting intermittent-running endurance capacity impairment (p < 0.05). In summary, internal and external load metrics may allow for predicting the extent of acute fatigue, and variability between halves may represent a valuable alternative to facilitate the analysis of match-related fatigue both for research and applied purposes.

Abstract:
Background: The success of immunotherapy for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) suggests that immune dysregulation occurs in HCC patients. This warrants an immuno-oncological risk assessment in the platform of liver transplantation. Methods: This retrospective single-center study analyzed risk factors for—particularly cross-matching performed through conventional complement-dependent cytotoxicity cross-match tests—and the outcomes of HCC recurrence following living donor liver transplant. Results: A total of 71 patients were included. The median follow-up period was 29.1 months; 17 (23.9%) patients had posttransplant HCC recurrence, and their 1-, 3-, and 5-year-survival rates were 70.6%, 25.7%, and 17.1%, respectively, which were inferior to those of patients without HCC recurrence (87.0%, 80.7%, and 77.2%, respectively; P < .001). In addition to microvascular invasion, positive cross-match results for B cells at 37°C (B- 37°C) or T cells at 4°C (T- 4°C) were associated with inferior overall survival in multivariable analysis after adjustment for tumor status beyond Milan criteria and elevated alpha-fetoprotein levels. Rejection alone cannot be the mechanism underlying the effects of positive cross-match results on patient outcomes. Adjusted survival curves suggested that positive cross-match B- 37°C or T- 4°C was associated with inferior recurrence-free and patient survival, but the robustness of the finding was limited by insufficient power. Conclusions: Additional large-scale studies are required to validate positive cross-match as an immuno-oncological factor associated with HCC recurrence and inferior patient survival.

Abstract:
For a square matrix M, its energy E(M) is the sum of its singular values. Let H be a k-uniform hypergraph, and let B(H) be the incidence matrix of H. The incidence energy BE(H) of H is the energy of B(H). Let T n,d be the set of k-uniform hypertrees of order n and size r with diameter 3 ≤ d ≤ r − 1. In this article, the k-uniform hypertrees with minimum incidence energy over T n,d are characterized. In addition, we have obtained the incidence energy of a hyperstar, and determined which hyperstar has the maximum and minimum incidence energy among all hyperstars with n vertices.

Abstract:
Binocular light microscopy (BLM) is an excellent match for a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and a trinocular light microscope equipped with a micrometer (TLM). The practicality, user-friendliness, and short-time analysis of BLM make this method a good choice for spicule analysis. However, its effectiveness and accuracy are yet to be confirmed. This study aimed to validate the effectiveness of BLM by comparing its usefulness to both TLM and the gold standard methods. BLM was first subjected to measuring megascleres and microscleres of 2 sponges. Then, by using the If function built-in Excell and t-test in SPSS 16.0, the compatibility of BLM was evaluated against SEM by measuring the length of spicules from 4 Sangihe sponges and their counterpart species from different locations. Furthermore, the t-test analysis was used to validate the compatibility and effectiveness of our method to the TLM by measuring the spicules of four sponges. Both the F-function and the t-test analysis proved BLM was compatible with SEM with both measurements showing a perfect match for megascleres typed spicules of 4 compared sponges. This new technique also showed a perfect match with SEM (p = 0.367, t-test) and with TLM (p = 0.963, t-test). Keywords: Spicules, sponges, SEM, Wallacea, biomaterial, sponge taxonomy

Abstract:
Background: For elective surgeries preoperative over ordering of blood is very common practice and leads to holding up of the blood bank reserve, aging of the blood unit, and wastage of blood bank resources. This can be decreased by simple means of changing the blood cross-match and ordering schedule depending upon the type of surgery performed. Objectives: To assess blood requisition and transfusion practices in elective surgical procedures. Methods: Hospital-based cross-sectional study was conducted from February 1, 2017, to March 31, 2017 G.C at Tikur Anbessa specialized Hospital. Using a convenient sampling technique and structured checklist, data was collected from elective surgical patients. Blood utilization was calculated using a cross-match to transfusion ratio (C/T), transfusion probability (%T) and transfusion index (TI), and the maximum surgical blood-ordering schedule (MSBOS) is formulated by Mead's criterion for common surgical procedures. Results: Among 525 units of blood cross-matched blood, 107 units were transfused. Among all 242 elective surgical patients who had cross-matched blood, 55 (22.7%) patients were transfused with 107(20.4%) units of the prepared blood giving cross-match to transfusion ratio of 4.9, transfusion probability of 22.7% and transfusion index of 0.44. Conclusion: The amount of blood requested and cross-matched for patients undergoing elective surgery is much greater than the amount actually used. Ordering pattern needs to be revised and over-ordering of blood should be minimized.

Abstract:
Tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) are associated with survival in virtually every human cancer studied, but the mechanisms by which they confer protective immunity remain incompletely understood. Focusing on ovarian cancer, our group applies genomic and molecular pathology approaches to define the mechanisms by which the immune system responds to the evolving tumor genome over space and time. We have shown that optimal anti-tumor immunity involves interactions between T cells and antibody-producing B cells and plasma cells in the tumor microenvironment. Moreover, we have identified three patterns of TIL response in ovarian cancer, each carrying distinct implications for immunotherapy. We are translating these insights into clinical trials involving adoptive transfer of tumor-reactive T cells.

Abstract:
The low motivation of students' mathematics learning makes researchers want to know the effect of the Make a Match learning model on students' mathematics learning motivation. The type of research conducted was pre-experimental research with a one group pretest-posttest design. This research was conducted in a class that was selected by random sampling. From the results of data analysis, the average student pretest questionnaire results were obtained 124,45 while the average student posttest questionnaire results are 131,59. From the results of the calculation of the paired sample t-test at the real level ?=0,05 also obtained the value of tcount =5,14 and ttable =2,048. Because tcount > t table then reject H0 and accept H1 which means that students' mathematics learning motivation after applying the Make a Match learning model is better than students' mathematics learning motivation before applying the Make a Match learning model. From these results it can be concluded that there is an effect of the Make a Match learning model on students' mathematics learning motivation.

Abstract:
Background and Objectives: There is a shortage of physicians in rural communities in the United States. More than other types of primary care physicians, family physicians are the foundation for care in rural areas.1 There are also critical shortages of other specialties such as general surgery, pediatrics, internal medicine, and psychiatry in rural America.2-7 This study assessed student participation in the University of Washington School of Medicine’s (UWSOM) Targeted Rural Underserved Track (TRUST) program as a predictor for family medicine (FM) and needed workforce specialty residency match. Methods: The study group was 156 medical students from 2009-2014; 102 were accepted to the TRUST program compared to a control group of 54 who were not accepted into the TRUST program but did matriculate to UWSOM. Student characteristics for the two groups were compared using t tests. Logistic regression analysis determined whether acceptance in TRUST predicted the outcomes measures of FM residency match or residency match into a needed rural physician workforce specialty; t tests compared match rates to family medicine for TRUST applicants and graduates, UWSOM graduates, and US allopathic seniors. Results: TRUST program graduates had the same FM residency match rate and match rate in needed workforce specialties as the control group. The FM match rate for TRUST graduates was 29.1% compared to UWSOM at 16.9% and US seniors at 8.7% (P&lt;.001). Conclusions: Although match rates in FM and needed workforce specialties were not different in accepted versus not accepted groups, all TRUST applicants had an FM match rate that approaches 30%, which is higher than the general UWSOM class and the United States. In order to help reach the goal of 25% of medical students matching into FM by 2030, medical schools should consider having a rural program and using rural-focused admissions widely.

Abstract:
Bioelectrical impedance vector analysis (BIVA) is a technique used for the assessment of body composition based on the electrical properties of biological tissues and for evaluating variations related to hydration and nutrition status changes. The present study aimed to investigate the possibility of predicting performance status and injuries using segmental BIVA analysis. Data were collected from 14 professional male athletes aged between 20 and 39 years of Caucasian and Afro-American ethnicity belonging to the US Victoria Libertas Pallacanestro Pesaro team in the Italian Serie A basketball championship. From an analysis of training injuries, the data highlight a possible positive link between the number of training injuries and upper hemisoma reactance (XCEmsSup) (t = 2.881, p = 0.007), an inverse relationship between training injury duration and higher right lower limb reactance (XCLegDx) (t = −4.213, p < 0.001), and an inverse relationship between injury duration and higher body mass index (t = −4.213, p < 0.001), highlighting how higher cellularity seems less prone to severe training injuries. Analyzing match-day injuries, right upper-limb higher reactance (XCArmdx) negatively correlates with match-day number of injuries (t = −4.469, p < 0.001), right upper limb resistance (RZArmDx) negatively correlates with lower match-day injury duration (t = −4.202, p < 0.001), and trunk resistance (RZTrunk) positive correlates with lower match-day injury duration (t = 2.803, p = 0.008), in contrast with the training data analysis. Analyzing the relationship between the BIVA parameters and performance indicators, right upper limb resistance (RzArmDx) has a positive link with plus–minus (t = 2.889, p = 0.007); however, RzArmDx negatively correlates with assist number (t = −3.362, p = 0.002), and BMI is directly proportional to assist number (t = 2.254, p = 0.032). These first data suggest a good correlation between the cellularity of different body districts and the risk of injuries in training but still leave several doubts surrounding the concrete predictive potential regarding performance and injuries during competitions while considering the numerous factors involved. Further studies on BIVA and similar applications could provide tools for managing athlete health and physical integrity preservation and potentially help us better understand the factors involved in improving performance.

Abstract:
The objective of this study was to compare the release of cardiac troponin T (cTnT) after a football 7 match between two cohorts of children and adult players. Thirty-six male football players (children = 24, adult = 12) played a football 7 match, and cTnT was measured before, and 3 h after exercise. Concentrations of cTnT were compared between groups and time, and correlated with participants’ characteristics, as well as internal and external exercise load. Cardiac troponin T was elevated in all participants (p < 0.001), and exceeded the upper reference limit for myocardial infarction in 25 (~70%) of them. Baseline concentrations were higher in adults (p < 0.001), but the elevation of cTnT was comparable between the groups (p = 0.37). Age (p < 0.001), body mass (p = 0.001) and height (p < 0.001), and training experience (p = 0.001) were associated to baseline cTnT values, while distance (p < 0.001), mean speed (p < 0.001), and peak (p = 0.013) and mean (p = 0.016) heart rate were associated to the elevation of cTnT. The present study suggests that a football 7 match evoked elevations of cTnT during the subsequent hours in healthy players regardless of their age. However, adults might present higher resting values of cTnT than children. In addition, results suggest that the exercise-induced elevations of cTnT might be mediated by exercise load but not participant characteristics.

Abstract:
<p>This study aims to: (1) find out the use of the Index Card Match method in mathematics; (2) determine the students’ ability of mathematics critical thinking with Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS); (3) determine whether there is an influence of the use of Index Card Match method to the students’ ability of mathematics critical thinking with HOTS. This study uses the pre-experimental method with one group for the pretest-posttest design. The population in this study was all students of Senior High School in Kadugede, Kuningan, West Java, totaling 1008 students. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The sample of this study was taken from two classes from class VII D as a control class with 37 students and class VII E as an experimental class with 38 students. The test instruments used were multiple-choice questions. Tests were given at the initial test (pretest) and final test (posttest). The testing data were analyzed using the independent samples t-test which has previously been tested for normality and homogeneity. The results of this study indicate: (1) the use of the Index Card Match method in mathematics learning in the experimental class was positively well and students looked serious and enthusiastic in following the teaching and learning process; (2) The students’ ability of mathematics critical thinking by using the Index Card Match method increased both in the experimental and control classes; (3) There was an influence of the use of the Index Card Match method in students' ability of mathematics critical thinking oriented to HOTS.</p>
